Lightningstorm roadtrip headcanons

(Lightning and jackson have once again been stuck on my mind:)

After one of their races , lightning and storm decide to take a roadtrip, to travel to their next race in time. Lightning decides to take the scenic route through cool landmarks, admiring how the cities look lit up in the dark. They might even detour through radiator springs if there's time

• Storm adamantly refuses to let lightning touch the radio - "Hell no mcqueen, I'm not listening to rascal flatts again"

• Lightning will wear him down eventually

• Lighting makes them stop at a cool looking landmark or two - "What's so cool about it? It's a rock?"

"Yeah a cool looking rock!

"Sigh"

• There will be hundreds of photos taken of them two together, maybe in a couple jackson doesn't look annoyed (2 he's actually smiling in!)

• He'll take aesthetic pictures of the cities they drive through tho (He'll post the ones that lightning hasn't photobombed)

• "California girls! We're unforgettable! Cmon jackson join in!

"No"

• Both will binge on snacks while driving, lightning likes to feed jackson snacks if it's his turn at the wheel

• If they don't stay at a motel they'll take turns driving (jackson has a few photos stored in his wallet of lightning sleeping in the evening light)

• If they're feeling particularly lazy they'll curl up in the back together to sleep. Lightning gets a picture of jackson sleeping in his hoodie, which jackson threatens to burn.

• At night, if the highways are empty, lightning likes to try to lean on storm and/or hold his hand- he says he's trying to distract him on the road, but really he just likes being mushy

• Good thing the road is empty cause storm always jumps at his touch. He'll relax later tho

• Both are exhausted the next morning. They spend a few minutes in a diner just sleeping against eachother

They arrive at their next race tired, rumpled but happy. Despite this, jackson refuses to go on another roadtrip for at least a month
