i was listening to mafumafu's cover of jailbreak and realized the mv has a trope i love very much!!!! with childhood friends trope, i also love it when two characters grew up having much the same motive (in the case of kuina and kawasemi, the song's characters, wanting to escape the caged city they're confined to). but then the characters mature and end up walking down separate paths, whether purposely or not or because life just happened and that was the cards they were handed, and now they can't stand on the same side because life/duty/etc compels them to remain set in their ways.

it hurts in the best way to see kuina chasing after kawasemi to apprehend him and stop him from flying the plane. and then he has no choice but to helplessly watch what ultimately becomes of his friend when the plane engine overheats and explodes... AAAAAAAAAA it hurts, but it hurts so good. T_T i can't even begin to ramble about the symbolism and the fact that they're named after birds... neru's brain is too big... orz

in short, i just really like the trope of two childhood friends with the same goal/dream, something happens that causes one of them to deviate from or abandon that goal/dream, and then they later reunite as changed individuals, with one still clinging to the goal/dream and the other having lost hope in it entirely. bonus points if one of them is hunting the other down for whatever reason hehe. <3

lmfao i am beating my laptops ass rn 😭 i have 3MB of ram free, i need to convince my job to let me get a lil dedicated server to run at home.

He has no idea how they learned that

It looks like he'll have to do something he had hoped he would NEVER have to do

Talk about sharing his wife

With his children

But still

So he takes the children for the day, letting you have a day to yourself and kicking you out of the hotel

His twins are obviously a little miffed at him for sending you away, it wasn't a decision that Alastor made lightly

But without the object of their little obsession, then they're back to being his loving little babies

At first, the twins eye him with a dubious expression on their faces, little hands curling into angry fists

Then they start to relax and lean on him again, as if accepting their father's words

Things feel calmer when you come back home later that night, your husband and babies all practically glomping on you

Whatever rivalry they had going on before seems to have ended, finally being able to have some affection from your husband without being interrupted

He's chuckling and pulling you close, reaching back to lock the door behind him-

"makin' us breakfast" you answer, brows furrowed as he shakes his head

"nah, dear. you sit." he guides you to the dining table next to the counter while you protest, but he just laughs.

"you're growing my child..I'm gonna make you breakfast, love!"

you huff as you push your fist into your cheek, he kisses your forehead before cracking the eggs onto the hot pan

"I'm not glass, billy" you mumble, he only chuckles as he flips the eggs

"no, but that baby is. and I'll be dammed if anything happens to you both" he says with a smile, a few flips later they were served to you on a porcelain plate and you devoured it. as you stood to place it in the sink, you felt his arms wrap around your waist, holding your child-filled tummy as he kissed up your neck

"when he comes I'm gonna teach him how to ride a horse and make his mother breakfast..." he babbles into your neck and you can't help the laugh that escapes you

"he?" you question and he spins you around while happily nodding

"uhuh! my little boy is in there!" he announces, peppering your warm cheeks with kisses

"well...we'll see in a few more months" you tell him and he groans

"why does it take so long? I want my baby now!" he whines like a child on your lips and you shush him with a kiss

his hands explore your body while he kisses you deeper, rubbing over your stomach as a smile finds his busy lips

"mmm...maybe a few more months isn't that bad...I love my girl like this" he hums on your lips and you smack his bare arm playfully

"he can hear you!" you point to your stomach and he laughs, moving to his knees as he kisses your tummy

"hi baby...can you cover your ears for a moment...if they're formed yet...your mother believes they are because I can't talk about how much I love her without bein' told you're listening..." he rants about you to your unborn child as you giggle along

"kick if you can hear me" he whispers and you gasp, backing up, he stood, eyes wide with worry

"is everything alright?"

"he kicked! he kicked you jackass!" you have a huge grin as you wrap your arms around him, he kissed your lips with a smile as he chuckled

"well don't teach him to swear!" he added and you dug your nose into his bare shoulder as you wondered how life could get any better with you, your baby, and your husband.
