The "Nicki effect" is not real, I promise you. Nicki dropping a slopped-together diss track and buggin' out on every social media platform in existence didn't get Meg that distribution deal. Nicki doing free promo for Hiss isn't the only reason why it's a hit. Every girl Nicki has went after has been a talent in their own right so tryin' to attribute all of their success to Nicki after she randomly decides to start beef with them (Mind you, she really only does this with the girls that are on the come up after they have received accolades for something she thinks they don't deserve, see Cardi, Latto, Meg etc.) doesn't make a lick of sense to me. You can say that MAYBE the beef she starts with these girls pushes them to get back at her and that drive makes good music but if the talent wasn't there to begin with that drive would get them absolutely nowhere.
