LGBTQ+ Disabled Characters Showdown Round 1, Wave 5, Poll 14
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A character being totally canon LGBTQ+ and disabled was not required to be in this competition. Please check qualifications and propaganda before asking why a character is included.
Check out the other polls in this wave and prior here.
Snake-Zero Escape
Qualifications:
Canonically disabled! He's blind and has a prosthetic arm! He's only semi-canonically gay, but the creator did acknowledge the possibility when people spam asked him if Snake is gay and he put up a twitter poll about it: https://twitter.com/Uchikoshi_Eng/status/1360856115450241027 so take that as you will
Canonically blind and implied to be gay, later confirmed by the creator
Propaganda:
Snake is so funny, he's a bit of a confident know it all but in a charming way. He can and will destroy you if you hurt his sister. He's EVERYTHING <3
He was declared gay via a poll on the creator's Twitter page which is just iconic of him. First ever character to have his sexuality democratically elected
Anything Else?:
He's more commonly called "Snake" as his real name (Light) is only revealed near the end of the game, and his last name technically comes from interviews outside canon. So "Light" is a bit of a "light" (haha) spoiler! (Submitter 1)
Melanie King-The Magnus Archives
Qualifications:
Bisexual and blind
Gay and blind and amazing
Melanie ends up being blinded by herself in the fourth season of the Magnus Archives, and ends up in a romantic relationship with another woman in the same season
She is blind and has a girlfriend. Canon disabled and canon wlw win 👍
she has a girlfriend and is blind
She is blind and sapphic (I'm not sure if anything exactly is ever confirmed in canon, but most people refer to her as a lesbian)
Propaganda:
she’s iconic
I love her
Oh I love my horrible woman who did many things wrong but in a way I sympathize with and also enjoy because she deserves to be a hater. Anyways so Melanie's very first appearance involved her arguing with Jon and and dismissing the way the Magnus Institute takes statements, which is a very good introduction for her in my opinion because she will continue to be a hater in regards to John. Melanie got stabbed by a ghost prior to her next appearance and briefly became a meme because turns out, when you get stabbed by a ghost, you'll want to tell people about the ghost, and she did this as she was being dragged away from where this happened. Her professional credit went downhill after this. She ends up being the catalyst of a big plot point in season 2 after this statement, because she's the only one who recognizes that Not-Sasha is, in fact, not Sasha. Then it turns out she cannot catch a break because she gets shot by a ghost later, and the ghost bullet turns out to not be a good thing later on. Melanie starts working for the Magnus Institute after Elias, her to-be horrible boss, proposes the role, since her credit has gone down so much that the job opportunity is very much needed. Then she realizes that she does not like her horrible murder boss and that she is bound to the institute, she keeps trying to kill him, which honestly I think she deserved to do because he sucks and she deserves a kill count. Though he shoves the knowledge that her father, who she thought died peacefully, actually died an agonizing, drawn out death in her brain so she stops doing that afterwards. She does help to get him arrested though, even if she really wanted to murder him. After this it is noted that she, at one point, fended off horrible flesh monsters with a knife single-handedly. John ends up realizing that the ghost bullet from earlier is still in her leg, and is more over making her far more murder hungry than she would be without it. So naturally the next step is DIY, non-consentual surgery, which she, after waking up shortly after the incident with her leg frozen and her friends committing medical malpractice, naturally objects to, which leads to her scarring John and overall not trusting him or Basira nearly as much as she might have before. Then she decides to actually prioritize her mental health a bit after going through every horror imaginable by going to therapy and insisting that, due to how the way tapes work in the archives, that none of her sessions be recorded, all while being just a bit paranoid about her therapist. Then it turned out that the only way to sever herself from the eye was to simply not have sight, and she's the one character who chooses this, getting rid of her eyesight very painfully and then moving in with Georgie, who ends up being her girlfriend. She's a little less hostile towards John after this, though she does not want to be in any archives business considering everything she went through there. Then, during the Eyepocalypse, she and her girlfriend, due to her not having sight and Georgie not having fear, are unaffected, and they sort of accidentally start a cult while trying to keep other people protected. Though it does not help that Melanie lied about having a vision that the whole thing would end, since the truth is really hopeless and bleak. She meets up with John and Martin again, is involved with the discussion of how the world can be maybe saved and is ultimately one of the three main characters to make it to the end of the finale, the others being Georgie and Basira. This is just me highlighting all of the wild things she's been up to and this would have gotten even longer if I had more propaganda.
She's so cool she tries to poison her evil boss she kicks ass she was a ghost hunter and she's also managed to escape her shitty situation by blinding herself to be able to quit her evil eldritch horror archiving job and just chill w/ her gf georgie and their cat (until the evil boss she tried to poison fucks everything up for everyone but in the end she and georgie still live and are presumably as fine as they cam be after all the shit that happened)
Only Melanie can accidentally become the Blind Prophet of the Apocalypse with her literally fearless girlfriend after trying to distance herself from the Beholding. She also had a ghost bullet infected with with The Slaughter in her leg which she got because she was a ghost hunting YouTuber/paranormal investigator.
Sometimes you gotta take your eyes out to escape your shitty job. And then you and your girlfriend live as prophets (and basically accidental cult-leaders) in the apocalypse

Louis and Harry keep missing each other (one always ends up asleep by the time they get home). One night, Louis gets in late to find Harry crying because of this.
When Harry steps in the apartment at five o'clock in the afternoon, the first thing he notices is how quiet it is.
He discards his shoes and tote bag at the entrance, his students' drawings slipping from inside of it and onto the floor. He bends down with a tired smile, picking them up carefully and leaving them on the coffee table for Louis to see when he comes home.
He has always demanded to be involved in the activities Harry plans for his students at the elementary school, whether that means picking his favorite drawings or putting stickers on their notebooks.
Harry knows that a big part of Louis' interest in Harry's class comes from his love for children, but another part of it is the pure need to spend time with Harry, bond with him over something as silly as DIY cards.
Lately, they haven't had the time to do that. With Harry working in the mornings, and Louis having afternoon shifts in the hospital, there's rarely any time for them.
Harry should be used to it -- after all, busy schedules come with a nurse's job -- but these past few weeks it has been worse than usual. It has gotten to the point where Harry and Louis only meet in bed, late at night and usually after a 12-hour-shift, when Louis is simply too tired to keep his eyes open.
It makes Harry feel incomplete, throws him off in a way he never imagined it would.
He makes dinner with an uneasy feeling tugging at him, an emotional exhaustion washing over him. He wishes there was something he could do, but it seems like the universe is against him.
Just last weekend, Harry was looking forward to spending it with Louis, when the hospital called him in for an emergency shift. Louis ended up covering for his sick coworker the whole weekend, and Harry's plans had gone to waste.
Harry tries not to let it affect him too much, but it does. 'Home' feels too empty and lonely, and 'bed' feels too cold.
When he goes to bed, the weight of the past weeks comes crushing down on him, like a realization of exactly how much he misses Louis.
He turns on the TV, hoping the voices will keep him company until he falls asleep, but there is nothing that can stop his brain from going a mile a minute, wondering if this will be their life from now on, if Louis misses him nearly as much as Harry does.
He's not even aware that he is crying until the tears are sliding down his face, dampening his curls and blurring his vision. He wraps the blanket tighter around him, looking for some comfort, but the lack of Louis' warmth in it only serves as a reminder of his absence.
Before long, he has his head buried in Louis' pillow, messily sobbing into it and staining it with his tears. "Lou..." he mumbles, almost as if it'll get him an answer.
"Baby?" comes a small voice from the door, and Harry's head snaps up.
"Louis," he smiles through his tears, not believing his eyes.
There Louis is, dark circles under his eyes, matted fringe against his forehead, looking nine parts tired, and one part worried.
"What's wrong?" he asks, rushing to Harry's side, crouching down beside him and holding his hand above the blanket.
Harry shakes his head as he sniffles, feeling silly to cry in Louis' presence, when the loss of it is the reason why. He squeezes Louis' hand, bringing it up to his mouth to press a kiss to his knuckles.
Louis frowns in confusion, rubbing his thumb back and forth over Harry's. "Baby, are you hurt?"
"No," Harry croaks, wiping his tears with his free hand. "I just..."
Louis smiles encouragingly, looking up at him with so much patience and adoration, Harry feels emotional all over again.
"I just missed you so much," he admits, breaking down all over again. He wraps his arms around Louis' neck, pulling him closer, uncaring about the smell of sweat and chlorine.
"My love," Louis gasps, taken aback by Harry's weight suddenly being dropped on him, and almost toppling over on the carpet. "I missed you, too. You have no idea."
Harry whimpers against his neck, pressing wet kiss after wet kiss anywhere he can; on Louis' cheeks, his lips, his jaw.
Louis grants him all the affection he needs, and only pulls away when Harry's tears have run out.
"How about I shower real quick, then we can cuddle and see what we can do to fix all this?" Louis suggests, pushing Harry's curls off his forehead.
Harry's lips stretch out in a grin. "Deal. But I'll be joining you in the shower."
"Deal."
Send me a line, and I'll write a snippet!

     𝐰𝐡𝐨  𝐢𝐬  ..  𝒔𝒍𝒐𝒂𝒏𝒆 𝒐'𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒚 ?
tip  of  the  iceberg.
full  name :   sloane  dierdre  o’malley
age / dob :   twenty - four  /  june  sixth  ( gemini  ass  bitch )
gender / pronouns :   cis woman  /  she + her
sexuality :   queer
species :   human - hunter , empath
dwelling :   locke row ,  spark park
occupation :   clerk at age of vintage
in  a  word.
ardent. convincing. headstrong. sharp.  stubborn. loyal to a fault. selectively apathetic. tough. thrill seeking. snarky. prideful. thick - skinned.
strangely laid back. attention starved vs attention disgusted. complex. complains about things before she's even tried them. bit as a child, not really above it now.
scraping your knuckles on the sidewalk, wedging yourself between a rock and a hard place, playing a never ending game of catchup, middle child syndrome, balancing relationships on a thumbtack, you don’t recognize yourself anymore, growing up too fast, your legs were never long enough, broken hairbrushes, diy piercings, rolling down a hill, weightless, flipping a coin and changing your face, wearing shoes that are too big and hand me downs that are too old, kicking up dirt, mud pies
let’s  talk  about  sloane.
sloane is the middle o'malley sibling. born just a couple years apart each, sean is her older brother and fia is their younger sister. her parents divorced when she was in elementary school - and things were difficult financially for the family ever since.
sloane's older brother, sean, began work as a hunter almost by accident - picking up odd jobs from the men that used to hang around their father's apartment. with the three siblings living in a cramped trailer in spark park, sean saw it as taking care of his family in a way his alcoholic father wasn't. sloane resents her father to this day for this.
sloane's abilities as an empath were never something she shared, except with her sister fia whom she shared a room with. they scared her, more than anything. the things she sometimes felt she could do. for so long, all sloane knew was a general lingering fear.
that terror would come to a head the night they all lost sean. it was a job gone wrong - the young adult now pushed beyond his limits with no abilities to protect him and no proper training to fall back on. that was the day sloane vowed to pick up where her brother had left off. to never allow anyone to take anything from her again.
so she's a hunter. and .. she's kind of really good at it. there is a rage that lives in sloane that is near primal and never quenched. i mean .. like. she's a girl. so.
doesn't really acknowledge she's an empath because it is unsettling to her. tries really hard to convince herself other people's emotions don't overwhelm her. also always trying to make people laugh and lighten the mood so she's receiving positive feedback. parties a lot when not on a job ( tbh also when on a job ) perhaps because it dulls her senses. perhaps she has a big reckoning coming with that little detail.
besides having a strange and kind of fucked life, she does like to have fun and friends and hobbies, etc. etc. she skateboards and raves. steals things to feel something. etc.
repressed the hell out of everything that has ever gone bad in her life because she's too busy being drained by other people's emotions to feel her own fr fr.
hi  sexy.  yes  ...  u  reading  this  ...  i’m  alli  and  this  is  sloane.  tldr  she’s  really  chaotic and quite frankly a problem.  i love her.

Do you have a fan/air conditioning on right now? I have my aircon turned on, yeah. The colder weather flew by in the blink of an eye and now it's back to being hot and humid and gross and needing to have some sort of ventilation in front of my face 24/7.
When was the last time you sang along with a song? Which one was it? It was when I was singing along to Turn It Off by Paramore in the car earlier this afternoon, on my way home.
Are you currently wearing any hair accessories? Which ones? I have a hair tie on since my hair's in a loose bun.
Have you ever wished you had a different name? Which name would you choose? Wanting a different name was more the case when I was a kid, because children were brutal and bullied me to oblivion for my name; at one point I was insisting my family start calling me Isabelle just to escape the flinches I'd get whenever I'd hear my name.
Over the years and as those kids got older and started leaving me alone, I warmed up to my name and now think it's pretty badass.
Do you often press the wrong keys on the keyboard? No I'm pretty good at typing and the only time I get kind of clumsy is when I use a keyboard I'm not super used to.
Have you ever customised an item of clothing? What did you do to it? I've never done that; I've never been creative enough to DIY stuff.
When was the last time you got a splinter stuck in you? D: Less than a year ago.
Do you prefer drawing or painting? Any particular reason why? Painting. It's more therapeutic for me and at least with painting you can use the most random colors and shapes possible and it'd still, like, amount to something lol. I can't draw to save my life.
Are you saving up for anything right now? What? I'm saving up for life in general. With my resignation taking effect and me being down to my last four paychecks while I look for my next job, I don't plan on spending much until I settle the latter.
Are you any good at playing pinball? Nope.
Do you own any figurines? Of what? I don't. Not really my cup of tea to collect.
If you have any siblings, how much rivalry is between you all? I don't speak with my brother; my sister and I are great as can be.
When did you last have itchy eyes? It's been a while. This doesn't happen a lot.
If forced to go camping, would you rather sleep in a tent or a caravan? I would go with the caravan.
Is it dark outside right now? It is, since it's nearing midnight.
How often do you get jealous of other people? What is it usually about? Tbh no not really. I'm usually so much more caught up in my own life and my own problems that I've stopped paying attention to the ways I could possibly compare myself to others lol.
Do you prefer framed photos or just sticking photos straight onto walls? I don't do either of those but I wouldn't mind placing photos directly on my wall. It gives off a kind of raw aesthetic that I'm into.
What’s your favourite type of cake? I would never turn down cheesecake.
Have you ever woken up from a dream and believed it to have been real? All the time, which is why I always need to take a while to wake up lol.
When was the last time you brushed your teeth? Earlier this evening.
How tired are you right now? I'm not. I'm all excitement cos it's a long weekend hahaha.
When was the last time you had an argument with someone? What was it about? Idk if it counts as arguing but I guess I had a bit of a back and forth with Leah earlier this week? We met to discuss my resignation - she was offering all sorts of counterproposals, from a sabbatical to an all expense paid trip to anywhere I want - and on my end my goal was to be able to make her understand why any offer from here would be met by a firm no from me, as shitty as I feel about it.
If there’s a bug in your room, can you sleep or do you need to get it out? That bug would need to get out.
How long have you gone without sleep? Like, today? I've only been up for around 14 hours.
Can you drive yet? How good are you at it? I can drive, but idk, when can you start self-claiming that you're a good driver haha?? I'd say I keep careful while knowing how to use my tiny car to my advantage, but I do get major anxiety when I have to merge or switch lanes. That shit takes me way too long to accomplish hah.
Do you prefer travelling alone or with people? With people. I can barely take care of myself and know it would be a mess if I ever tried traveling on my own. It's something I want to try, of course, but I'm also well aware of my own watchouts for myself lol.
Did you listen to the radio today? Briefly when I got into my Grab rides to and from the office. I ended up listening to my own music both times.
What was the last baby animal you saw? That cute little puppy from a work-related TVC shoot.
Generally speaking, is it warmer or colder in your house than outside? It's ever so slightly colder; but if it's humid outside then it would usually be just as shitty inside.
When was the last time you threw up? Less than a month ago. Work anxiety.
Do you give people high fives or hugs more often? High fives and fist bumps.
Have you ever tie-dyed something? Just once, when it was an activity in school. We did it to a t-shirt.
Name something you thought was cool when you were younger but don’t now: Having an iPad. It felt almost revolutionary a decade ago and now it's like "well everyone has a tablet and it's kind of necessary for a lot of situations now so eh" lol.
How long does it usually take you to get to sleep? Less than 10 minutes. It's easy but it's also because I knock myself out by using my phone.
When did you last get a papercut? December.
Which do you prefer: Blackboards or whiteboards? Whiteboards. Blackboards are a bitch to clean up.
What sort of things do you have bookmarked in your internet browser? I never really bookmark things on my browser anymore.
Are / were you spoilt? Would others agree or disagree with you? To an extent, but I never was a dramatic kid and my parents only ever bought things for me so long as I earned it. I just say 'to an extent' because compared to my siblings I admittedly have more expensive preferences that my parents provided for me whenever they could.
What are you wearing right now? A sleeveless top and shorts.
What was the last book you read? Kim Jiyoung, Born 1982.

meet the bombshells: beach hut confessions
Tumblr media
thank you to everyone who submitted questions. seriously, didn’t think so many of you were eager to meet these bombshells. and by all means, feel free to continue sending them in, all six of them are open to answering your most probing questions.
🎇[ part i ]🎇[ part ii ]🎇[ part iii ]🎇
confessions below for ig, tandy & marco! you can find their interview here!
Tumblr media
@dragonfly1399 asks: Hiii! Um. So, um, a question for IG 👉👈 will he, um… will he teach me how to play cello? Please? It’s a big dream of mine🥺 I’ll be a good student, I promise! *wink wink*
Tumblr media
IG: (whistles) “I always did want to do some tutoring. (wiggles his eyebrows suggestively) If I’m still available after this stint, I’ll drop by. Just drop your info in my DMs.” (Marcos chuckles, Tandy shakes her head) “What? You do realize the odds of us all staying in the villa are about—“ (counts with his fingers)
M: “You’re actually doing the maths for this? (shakes his head) The best odds is if two of us stays. (IG sighs) Or something like that, anyways.”
T: “Anyways— cellist really? You’re whole vibe says indie rock, what’s that about? (Marco nods, IG opens his mouth to speak) And better not be a sob story please, we’ve already gone over our odds.”
IG: “I had a knack for it as a kid and people said I could make a decent living off of it. So I did. No sob story here.” (Marco bursts out laughing)
Tumblr media
@richdesire says: hiiii marco *waves flirtatiously* tell me about your favorite places to go on a date? what qualities do you look for in a partner? have you ever been stood up or stood someone else up? i noticed you have a lot of tattoos, which is your most meaningful? can you step on me pls?
Tumblr media
IG: (cackles) “Holy shit! That’s a lot of questions for you, pretty boy. I bet Tandy and I can answer a few for you.” (Marco raises a brow)
T: “I bet we could. Hmm, seeing that Marco here has never technically been on an date, I bet they’d say— (clears their throat, semi-italian accent) Ay, somewhere private, just the two of us, private chef…”
M: “It’s all in the tongue, (Tandy practices a bit) yeah, there you got it. And honestly, going out maybe trying one of those DIY classes together. I rather have something to converse about other than our jobs. (IG agrees) Qualities in a partner, well patience is one, someone I can hold a conversation with is two. Besides that, I’m not really sure.”
IG: “You want someone to vibe with, nothing wrong with that, boyyo.” (puts an arm around Marco)
M: “I stood up a crowd at a pub. It wasn’t intentional or anything, I was awful sick.” (Tandy cringes) “Yeah, I haven’t eaten pancakes since. About the tattoos, most are tokens for special moments. I’ve got one for the first mixtape I made, another one for my first gig, one for my best mate Hanni…the others are random shit Hanni and my mates thought were cool.”
T: “Is this unicorn one of them?” (Marco smirks)
IG: “You got a unicorn? Let me see!”
M: “Oh, and the thing about stepping on you. If it’s alright with you, I rather we just exchange numbers.”
Tumblr media
@/anon says: What do you guys think about MC’s and their ex in the villa, together?
Tumblr media
T: “It’s a bunch of rubbish. They’re basically living in Suresh’s shadow. It’s f***ing ridiculous. Like give them a break. So they were ready to propose, really scary shit. Get over yourselves.”
IG: “It’s bound to be awkward for anyone trying to go after either one of them, but if you’re gonna let the ex get in the way, why are you even here? Shoot your shot or get out of my way. I had hope for Finny boy, but he was just all talk.” (Marco nods)
M: “Why sweat it? He doesn’t even have the balls to actually apologize. All MC wants is a someone reliable, who can take things as they come. And I’ve got a feeling we’re doing a lot better than everyone else in that villa right now.”
Tumblr media
@/anon says: If you guys had the choice to couple up with someone, who would it be?
Tumblr media
IG: "Before the last episode, I’d have said Finn or MC. Now, it’s just MC."
T: "A bit controversial, but Dana. Maybe, MC, but I need to see whether they’re into their ex or not."
M: "Don’t know— I want to say MC. But, if things had to go in a different direction, Kat. No I’m not explaining what I mean by different direction."
Tumblr media Tumblr media

Hidden Dangers of DIY Plumbing: When to Call a Professional Plumber?
Tumblr media
Plumbing is an essential aspect of our everyday lives, providing us with the convenience of clean water, efficient drainage, and working appliances. From our morning showers to washing dishes after dinner, we rely on a well-functioning plumbing system to carry out these tasks seamlessly. However, it is easy to take plumbing for granted until a problem arises. When faced with a plumbing issue, homeowners may be tempted to tackle the problem themselves.
While DIY projects can be rewarding, it's important to understand the hidden dangers of DIY plumbing and know when it's time to call a professional plumber Gold Coast-wide. In this blog, we will discuss the hidden damages of DIY plumbing and when you need to call a professional plumber.
Common plumbing issues homeowners may face
Homeowners often encounter various plumbing issues that require prompt attention. One of the most common problems is a clogged drain. Whether it's a sink, toilet, or shower drain, a clog can disrupt the flow of water and cause inconvenience.
Another prevalent issue is leaky pipes. Not only can leaks waste water and increase your utility bills, but they can also lead to extensive water damage if left unaddressed. Additionally, low water pressure, running toilets, and dripping faucets are other common plumbing nuisances that homeowners may encounter.
While some of these issues may seem minor, attempting to fix them without proper knowledge can lead to further complications.
The risks of DIY plumbing
While it may be tempting to save money and take matters into your own hands, DIY plumbing can be risky. One of the main dangers is the potential for personal injury. Plumbing systems often involve sharp tools, heavy equipment, and exposure to harmful chemicals.
Without the proper training and experience, attempting to fix a plumbing issue can result in accidents, such as cuts, burns, or even exposure to toxic substances. Furthermore, DIY plumbing can exacerbate the problem if not done correctly.
A simple clog, for example, can turn into a major blockage if improper techniques or tools are used. In the worst-case scenario, a DIY plumbing project gone wrong can cause extensive damage to your home, leading to costly repairs.
When to call a professional plumber
Knowing when to call a professional plumber is crucial in ensuring the safety and efficiency of your plumbing system. While minor issues like a clogged toilet or a dripping faucet can often be resolved with DIY methods, certain situations require professional expertise.
If you experience a major leak that is causing significant water damage, it is imperative to call a plumber Gold Coast immediately. Additionally, if you notice sewage backup, foul odors, or a sudden decrease in water pressure, it's best to leave the problem to the experts.
A professional plumber has the knowledge, skills, and specialised equipment to diagnose and fix complex plumbing issues effectively.
The benefits of hiring a professional plumber
Hiring a professional plumber offers numerous benefits that go beyond resolving immediate plumbing problems. Firstly, professional plumbers have the expertise to accurately diagnose the root cause of the issue. They can identify underlying problems that may not be apparent to an untrained eye. By addressing the underlying cause, professional plumbers can prevent future issues from arising.
Tumblr media
Additionally, professional plumbers are equipped with specialised tools and equipment that enable them to efficiently and effectively handle any plumbing problem. Furthermore, by hiring a professional plumber, you can have peace of mind knowing that the job is done correctly and up to code.
How to find a reliable and experienced plumber?
Finding a reliable and experienced plumber is essential to ensure quality work and avoid unnecessary headaches. Start by asking for recommendations from friends, family, or neighbours who have recently had plumbing work done. Their firsthand experiences can provide valuable insights into the reliability and professionalism of different plumbers.
Additionally, read online reviews and check ratings on reputable websites to gauge the reputation of local plumbers. When contacting potential plumbers, ask about their experience, certifications, and licenses. A reliable plumber should be willing to provide references and demonstrate their expertise in the field. Finally, obtain multiple quotes to compare prices and ensure you are getting a fair deal.
Factors to consider when choosing a plumber
When choosing a plumber, it's important to consider several factors to ensure you make the right decision. Firstly, check if the plumber Gold Coast is licensed, insured, and bonded. These credentials demonstrate that the plumber meets industry standards and is covered in case of any accidents or damages. Secondly, inquire about the warranty or guarantee offered by the plumber. A reputable plumber should stand behind their work and offer a warranty on their services.
Additionally, consider the plumber's availability and response time. Plumbing emergencies can happen at any time, so it's crucial to choose a plumber who offers 24/7 emergency services. Lastly, trust your instincts. A plumber who communicates clearly listens to your concerns, and provides transparent pricing is likely to be trustworthy and reliable.
The cost of hiring a professional plumber
The cost of hiring a professional plumber can vary depending on the complexity of the job, the location, and the plumber's experience. It's essential to obtain multiple quotes from different plumbers to compare prices and ensure you are getting a fair deal. While it may be tempting to choose the cheapest option, remember that quality work and expertise are worth the investment.
Hiring a professional plumber can save you money in the long run by preventing further damage and the need for future repairs. Additionally, some plumbers offer financing options or payment plans to make their services more accessible. It's important to discuss the cost and payment terms upfront to avoid any surprises.
Signs of a reputable plumbing company
When searching for a professional plumber, it's crucial to look for signs of a reputable plumbing company. Firstly, check if the company has a valid physical address and a local phone number. This ensures that they are a legitimate business operating in your area. Additionally, reputable plumbing companies often have a professional website that showcases their services, testimonials, and contact information.
Look for certifications, affiliations, or awards that indicate the company's commitment to professionalism and quality work. Lastly, pay attention to their customer service. A reputable plumbing company should be responsive courteous, and provide clear communication throughout the entire process.
Conclusion
While DIY projects can be rewarding, it's important to recognise the hidden dangers of DIY plumbing and know when it's time to call a professional plumber Gold Coast-wide. Plumbing issues can be complex, and attempting to fix them without the necessary expertise can lead to personal injury, further damage, and costly repairs.
By hiring a professional plumber, you not only ensure the safety and efficiency of your plumbing system but also benefit from their expertise, specialised equipment, and long-term solutions. When selecting a plumber, consider factors such as licensing, insurance, reputation, and cost to find a reliable and experienced professional.
Remember, investing in the services of a professional plumber is an investment in the well-being of your home and peace of mind. So, the next time you face a plumbing issue, think twice before reaching for your toolbox and consider calling a professional plumber.

Safety First: The Importance Of Professional Tree Removal Services
Tumblr media
There are many reasons why you may need professional Tree Removal Yarra Ranges services. Maybe you want to remove a tree to make room for a pool, or maybe your property is in danger of being damaged by a storm. Whatever the reason may be, it's important that you hire someone who knows what they are doing and can take care of the job correctly the first time around. It's also important that when hiring someone for this task, you have all of your questions answered—and that means knowing which questions matter most!
Read More: Yarra Ranges Tree Removal
Why You Need Professional Tree Removal
Tree removal is not a DIY job. It can be dangerous, expensive and time-consuming. Professional tree removal services have the right equipment, training and experience to ensure that your trees are removed safely and efficiently.
Tree removal should only be performed by trained professionals with appropriate insurance coverage in place for their employees' safety; this protects both you and your trees from potential accidents during the process of removing them from your property.
When it comes down to it: if you want your trees gone fast without having to worry about them falling on someone or damaging something else in their path--and especially if there's any chance that they might be hazardous--then hiring an expert is probably going to save both time (and money) in the long run!
What to Look for in a Tree Removal Company
When you're looking for Boroondara Tree Removal company, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First and foremost, it's important that they have a good reputation. You can do this by asking around or checking online reviews from other customers who have used their services before.
Also make sure that the company has been in business for several years and is insured with liability insurance coverage of at least $1 million dollars per occurrence (this means that if something goes wrong on their end during the removal process--like an employee falls out of a tree and gets hurt--they will be able to cover any medical bills).
You'll also want to ask about how many people they employ as well as how much experience they have removing trees like yours; if they don't know what kind of trees grow around your house then chances are good that they won't be able to properly identify which ones need removing!
Tumblr media
Factors That Affect The Cost of Tree Removal Services
When you're looking to hire a tree removal service company, it's important that you know what factors affect the cost of their services. These include:
Location
The farther away they have to travel and the more difficult it is for them to get there, the more expensive your job will be. This can include things like hills, rivers and other natural barriers that make getting access difficult. The size of your property also matters here because if there aren't any roads leading up or down your property (and therefore no way for heavy equipment), then again this could add more expense onto your bill as well.
Size
Larger trees tend require more time and effort from experienced professionals than smaller ones do--especially if they're harder species like pines or oaks!
Conclusion
If you're looking for Tree Removal Yarra Ranges services, we hope this article has helped you understand why it's so important to hire professional tree removal experts. We know that hiring a company can be expensive, but it's worth the investment if it means avoiding accidents and saving time and money in the long run.

Pretty much rooted now
Was feeling ok about not feeling ok about work - that I understand that I feel like I fail all the time, but that I do a good enough job that I am not in danger of losing it.
That my jobs around the house for when i am "relaxing" that I will load too many in, so that I can't achieve them all, so that I can fail at achieving and then fail at relaxing as well.
That the DIY major project is going to be not right, not straight and not perfect - but that it will be measured and made to the best of my limited ability and will probably be standing long after I am gone (over engineered by an actual architect and built over and above that).
But I have just found out that one of the work tasks I had actually managed to achieve was done in exactly backwards to what the customer wanted. No effort spent by anyone else yet, but a week long job needs to be re-done for tomorrow.
My attempts to let others own their tasks and provide me updates rather than owning everyone else's failures by not letting them manage themselves has fallen over to the extent that a major deadline has been missed and two further projects now impacted. Is letting someone else have the ability to fail, and them taking it, even more of a failure for me because I now have to not only recover their initial failure but the subsequent flow on failures?
And the major DIY project is now looking like it might not get completed this year. I was going to have an actual competent and experienced person come in and give me a hand to complete the last major task (the steel roof) - the point of the whole project. This weekend was recovering from my failure to notice that the lumber yard had sent the wrong sized timber that prevented me from getting ready to put the roof on this weekend. So by next weekend should be at a point where the roof can go on. But it will be windy and rainy (according to extended forecast). The following weekend, a different team are coming in to fix a fence that was broken, that I am not even goign to atempt. So leaves the following weekend. After that I have a weekend away booked with my wife and another couple to see a show. The week after that - I go in for arm surgery that will mean i will be in a cast for two months nad then a year's rehab after that. We can't even get builders in to finish it off, as there are none free at the moment - it is at least 6 months to even get one to come and quote on a job - and the ones that are able to come that quickly are generally free for a reason.
The arm surgery itself is also probably going to fall apart somehow. Initial funding was denied by the government agency that normally funds such things. The work insurance plan I top up to cover absolutely everything is now looking unlikely to pay (they have a 2 day turnaround expectation, it has been over a week with nothing). If they decline, then the surgery is off - and I go back to just sucking painkillers to be able to work and function.
Fortunately - it turns out that being ADHD for me apparently means that narcotic "high" doesn't happen - so I don't run the same risk of becoming addicted to opiod painkillers as they just dull pain rather than making me feel good. I could never understand why people were all "give me the drugs - feels wonderful" when the best I could hope for was the edge off the pain and nausea.
This coming weekend is due to rain. If the weekend after the other team coming in to work is wet, (and my surgery isn't yet cancelled or moved out) then $30K of materials and labor has been wasted. The wet empty weekend then becomes a date that would seem suitable to allow the family to cash in on the life insurance to be able to pay a builder to come in and finish, and not have to take time off to look after me with an arm out of action so I will be even less productive and effective.
Which is interesting, because that would make it almost exactly a year since the date that I had first planned to take my own life - but reached out for help instead. A year later, the help and therapy has identified that I have ADHD / ASD, that I don't have depression (probably) - just a "depressive schema". That talking to my therapist will help identify ways that I have negative thoughts and can move towards not being so hard on myself.
After a year - I have spent a bunch of money on therapy and medication and can't point to feeling permanently better about anything. When I do think "oh, actually this is ok" - it promptly blows up in my face and feels twice as bad - because I didn't feel bad about it in the first place and now there is an even worse outcome to now have to manage.
After a year - I intellectually know that my view on my productivity, effectiveness and ability doesn't match the view of others. I also "know" however that they are being kind to make me achieve for them, that therapists and psychologists are paid to say nice things and that my family has only ever had me doing things for them, so they have a really low bar of what "success" is. My daughter keeps buying me "great dad" products and making cards that say that I am wonderful - but she has only ever known life with me as a father. I am sure that if my wife was to meet someone else, they would be much better for the family than I am - more able to show love and emotion, more giving, more successful and less of a failure.
I don't understand how therapy is supposed to work in terms of making me feel better - or what better even means. After a year, I have realised that I don't even have a concept of what it means to succeed. That everything I do is not acceptable to me in terms of duration, outcome, effectiveness, perfection, or being as good as what anyone else could achieve. My therapist says it is a process to undo decades of built in negative self talk. In my work and my world, processes are series of regulated and effective steps that ensure a consistency of outcome. This process doesn't seem to consist of steps, the outcome is nebulous at best so how can you be sure the "process" will achieve it and no one seems to be able to articulate what the process actually is. Does that mean that even my understanding of the word "process" itself is a failure? Or that I am just burning through the family's money on a fool's errand?
The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that removing me from the equation just frees up resources, stops bothering others and means that time, money and more effective and suitable people can take over the roles and tasks that I am failing at.
I have figured out a suitable date that will work in with my wife's work schedule and daughter's holidays. My wife has already booked a couple of days to run me in and out of hospital for surgery and look after me for a couple of days - so that would work for organising funeral instead. The car is due for a service shortly thereafter - but she will probably not want to keep hold of it, so that will free up a bit more again.
If the surgery is canned and the weather improves, then completing the project will have to happen first, and in that case the fall back date is a month or so later to avoid disrupting my daughter's exams.

Reasons To Hire a Landscaper Instead of Doing a DIY Landscape
If you're thinking about getting a new landscape for your property, it can be tempting to simply do it yourself. After all, who doesn't want to save money and have fun with their yard? But that's not always the best idea. Landscapers are professionals who know what they're doing and can help you make sure everything is done correctly—and safely! Here are some reasons why hiring a Landscaper Christchurch might be better than doing it yourself:
Professional Landscapers Can Save You Time
If you're planning on doing a DIY landscaping project, you'll have to learn how to do all of the work yourself. This means that you'll be spending time learning how to use the right tools and supplies. You'll also need to spend time finding the right supplies (and making sure they're in good condition), as well as finding out what tools are necessary for your job.
It's certainly possible for you to save money by doing your own landscaping, but it's always better if someone else does it for you instead. In these cases, professionals can easily get everything done without taking up any of your precious time.
Professionals can save not only money but also other important resources like water and energy by using efficient techniques during their workday or week. You might even consider hiring an environmentally friendly company if this matters at all!
Tumblr media
Professional Landscapers Can Save You Money
If you're going to be growing plants from scratch, you have to buy the seeds or plants. This can get expensive. It's also important that you pick the right plant for your area and climate. If a plant dies because of improper care or weather conditions, then your money has gone down the drain.
Professional landscaper Christchurch will know which plants are best suited for your area and climate, and they'll be able to teach you how to take care of them properly so that they live longer than just a few days (or weeks). They'll also ensure that all of their equipment is properly cared for, so it lasts longer than if someone who isn't trained handled it improperly.
You'll Be Investing in Trusted, Insured Labour
One of the main reasons to hire a landscaper is that you can trust that they'll be insured, licensed, and bonded. This means that if something happens while your landscape project is underway, you won't have to worry about being liable for it. You might not even realize how important this is until something goes wrong (and it will!). If a worker falls off your roof or cuts his hand on your lawnmower blade, who's going to pay for medical expenses? That would probably be you!
If you decide to do it yourself (DIY), there's no guarantee that anyone working around your home will have proper training or authorization from the state in which he or she works. In fact, according to a study by the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP), "nearly one out of every three workers [was] found not qualified." What does this mean? Well...
You Could Qualify For A Free Estimate Or Free Design Consultation
It can be tough to decide whether or not you need a landscaper. There's no doubt that landscaping is a huge job that requires a lot of time and effort, but it can also be incredibly rewarding once it's all said and done. If you want to get started with your own DIY landscape, consider asking for some free estimates first so that you know what professionals charge and how much work they do in order to come up with an accurate quote for yourself.
DIY Landscapes Can Be Fun And Rewarding, But It's A Good Idea To Hire An Expert To Get The Look You Want In A Way That's Safe And Cost-Effective
DIY landscapes can be fun and rewarding, but it's a good idea to hire an expert to get the look you want in a way that's safe and cost-effective.
When you have your own yard or garden, you have the benefit of being able to do whatever you want with it — after all, it's yours! However, there are some aspects of landscaping that require specialized knowledge and experience. If you're looking for help with your landscape after years of doing it yourself or just want to learn more about what goes into creating beautiful outdoor spaces, this guide will provide some tips on how professionals can help make your next project go smoothly.
Conclusion
If you're looking for the best Landscaper Christchurch service in your area, it's time to find a pro that can help you achieve the look of your dreams. Whether you're looking to hire a full-service company or just someone who will take care of some basic lawn mowing and trimming tasks, there are many qualified companies out there that can design and install your perfect landscape. So don't waste another minute thinking about DIYs—start calling around today!

Critical Self Reflection
The Anniversary
Tumblr media
Which Role(s) did you undertake?
I was the Production and Sound designer for our film.
(Blog posts about my work in each role has been linked)
What feedback did your film receive in the crit?
Our group received a range of feedback from the tutors. Aspects of the film such as cinematography, shot choices, and set design were largely liked by the tutors. The tutors could tell that a lot of effort had gone into this film. There were some interesting comments on sound design. David Lumsden pointed out that the sound of ‘Francesca’s’ footsteps doesn’t work very well with the clip as they don’t sound very accurate. David Byrne, however, said that the sound was replicated nicely. Zoe noted that production and sound design was good, but the characters’ voices could have been louder and the droning sounds that were added to create a shift in tone gave a sense that something ominous was about to happen but didn’t create the effect intended. As Zoe had seen previous drafts of our film edit, she was pleased with the choices we made for the final cut. However, the scene with the bags didn’t work out the way we wanted it to as they were too quiet, and many things were happening at once. We also received some good feedback on the offscreen presence (McCaig) as he was well constructed. Catriona and Paul also mentioned that they would’ve liked Lady Francesca’s lover to be McCaig. Sam liked that Francesca pouring the milk was reflective of her coming out on top and the shift in the power dynamic.  The actors also received praise for their performances, and they were consistent with the cinematography.
What resonates with you? What do you think about the feedback?
Receiving feedback was a helpful experience. the positive comments reflect our group effort and teamwork. I feel that our work really paid off.  The constructive criticism was very useful as we now know what errors to look out for and how to convey a story in a better manner. I agree with the points made on sound design. I will make sure that to allocate more time for sound to achieve best results. I was glad to hear positive comments about the production design, although I do agree that a better jewellery box could have been chosen, Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find any inexpensive jewellery boxes near me after the ones I bought online were delivered in the wrong dimensions. So, I had to DIY one out of an amazon parcel the night before our shoot. I will make sure to not leave so little room between preparing the props and the shoot day for my next projects. Overall, I was pleased with the feedback we received, and it felt like our work was recognized.
How were you able to use feedback you received in class and tutorials when making your film?
We were given some wonderful feedback in the tutorials. The screenwriting seminar with Kate helped develops our narrative. We got the opportunity to each throw in our ideas as Kate helped facilitate the group to build the story. The Script to shoot workshops were informative on parts of filmmaking that needed to be done for a smooth production. the tutorial with Demelza shaped our narrative even better and she also gave us advice on set design and where we could get access to props. With all the feedback we received, we formulated our story. As we progressed into postproduction, tutorials with Zoe were useful as she told us what shots worked and didn’t. This was also when she suggested the idea of a pianist in the room, playing a piece to add to the world building. Each tutorial helped shape our film into a better one.
What do you consider to be your film's strongest points? and what do you consider doesn't work so well?
In my opinion, the production, cinematography, script, actors, and set design work well. Our Producer, Katelyn, did a tremendous job. She developed a schedule, helped keep the whole production process on track. She took her job seriously and amazed me at how great she did even though she was recovering from a concussion. John (Director) and Lenny (DOP) developed a shot list and storyboard that worked very well with our script. Their work is greatly reflected throughout the film, and it is evident how much thought they had put into the cinematography. Ethan (Writer) wrote multiple drafts for the script, and I believe he came up with the version that effectively conveys the story. The dialogues suit the tone of the film and our actors Fabiana (Lady Francesca), and Duncan (Lord Campbell) delivered them excellently. In terms of set design, I feel like I could have done a lot better (e.g., gotten better candles, replace the jewellery box) but I am really pleased with what I came up with.
Despite the work our group had done, there were some weak parts that I felt could have been improved on. For example, our characters have been married for 10 years but they don’t look like a couple that has been. Maybe reducing the duration of their marriage would have helped. I also wish that I could have improved on parts of the sound design such as replacing Francesca’s footsteps with a more accurate sound. I also agree with the tutors about how the bags sequence didn’t work well and sounded muddled.
In what ways did your group work well together? In what ways could it have been better?
Our group worked very well together, and it is reflected throughout the production of the film. Everyone’s input was respected and considered, and we were able to amicably discuss production. I felt very comfortable around my group and the whole process was an enjoyable experience. I think we were also quick to overcome problems. For instance, when our producer had to step back for a while due to a medical emergency, the rest of the group stuck to schedule and took over parts of the producer’s job to get the film done on time. I had a wonderful time working with my group.
Try to summarise your main points of learning through the process of making this film.
I learned quite a lot from the process of making the film. Having an interest in production design I was excited to take up the role. The entire process of designing the set, scouting for props, and finding resources are experiences I think will help me for any future projects. I have also learned that its best to not leave menial tasks for the last minute as they take away an effect from the film. This was also my first attempt at sound design. I didn’t realize how much I would enjoy the process. By the end of production, I knew my way around the basics of ProTools. I hope to improve on it.  Watching my groupmates work has given me a deeper insight into the other roles in filmmaking and how each element is co-dependant. The errors that occurred during the process have helped me understand how to avoid them in future projects.
What have you learned from seeing your classmates’ films? Did anything stand out to you and why?
Watching my classmates’ films was a wonderful experience. Everyone created interesting films, a few that I loved more than others. Listening to the feedback for all the films depicted a range of things that could and couldn’t work for a film. What stood out to me was the way each group responded to the problems that arose during the making of their film. a variety of problems could occur during production, and it helped to know how to avoid them in the future.

Death AU
I’ve never written anything like this so I thought I’d give it a try! :)
Special appearances by: Midnight, Hizashi Yamada, Toshinori Yagi
Prompt: A creature at the gates of the afterlife allows every soul that passes through to ask it one question. Used to being asked questions such as "What is the meaning of life?" and "How many people loved me?", it's taken aback when a soul asks "How was your day?" instead.
Warnings: a little swearing
They say when you die you see a light at the end of a tunnel. What you didn’t expect was it to be a long line of souls waiting to get checked in to the afterlife and sorted into an array of different destinations. You weren’t really too thrilled to be sorted into your version of heaven or hell but until that happened all you could do was wait, slowly moving up in line after each soul ahead of you gets their destination.
The closer you get to the light you realize it’s just a brightly lit golden train station with a creature on a pedestal at the entrance gates taking names. You couldn’t see the creature very well, they were in the only shadow the station offered, the shadow from the gate itself, but you could see wings and you couldn’t take your eyes from them.
They were blacker than you ever seen with flecks of gold that when you moved closer you realized were sparks and flames every time they ruffled them.
When you were up next you realized it was a man “Name?” He asks when you step up to him and it’s then you realize you’re next. “Oh! Um Y/n L/n” as you say your name the book that’s floating in the air in front of him glows, flipping through pages until it lands on yours, bringing up a picture of you and a summary of your life.
“Before we begin you may have one question. Ask me anything and I will tell you the answer” you hum, you didn’t really have any questions you wanted to know. You didn’t care about people you left behind, there was nothing you could do so what was the info about them going to help? The meaning of life never bothered you either, you always thought the meaning was kindness and love and you didn’t mind continuing to believe that.
You hum again softly before looking back to his face “how was your day?” You ask and rock on your toes. He’s frozen for a moment, you use your one question to ask about him? He’s never had that happen before. He clears his throat “it’s been long” he says, voice incredibly honest and you nod “I bet. This seems like monotonous work” he nods “it can get that way sometimes” you look to his wings when he ruffles them and you wonder if it’s an anxious thing he does or if it’s unconscious. Needless to say you were mesmerized by the sparks floating to the ground “I like your wings” you say and he feels his cheeks warm “uh.. thank you” he says, suddenly feeling like he was on a date or something and not at his job.
His eyes, they are stuck on you. He looks over your face and feels as if the wind has been knocked from him. You are the most beautiful soul he’s ever seen. He feels a pull within him, like you’re attached to his very soul, like the fates sent you to him. You would blush under his gaze if you were in a body but since you’re just a soul you manage to smile shyly and glance down to his book.
He hums once, before turning his attention back to your page, trying to calm the racing heart in his chest. ‘Artist, nice. Supported local businesses, donated to charities, volunteered at many animal shelters, took care of her sick mother, supported her sibling, … she was a saint it seems.’ He thinks to himself
Aizawa gets to the end of the page and reads ‘level 8’ and his stomach drops ‘what the fuck did she do to get the worst level?’ He looks from the page then to you, then back to the page, then back to you.
“Is something wrong?” You ask and he frowns “I’m not sure. You are y/n l/n who’s parents were (parents names) who had a cat named Jonathan and who’s best friend was (bff name) and who volunteered at the animal shelter?” You nod and his frown deepens “what did you do?” He asks and leans down to look at you closer
He leans down and you get a smell of him, he smelled like fresh air and mint, it was alluring and you unconsciously leaned a little forward yourself “I don’t understand. What do you mean?” He opens his mouth to explain but a man with golden wings and hair comes and throws his arm around the darker man, a big grin “it’s your lucky day Aizawa! Your shift is over!” Aizawa grunts and shoves his arms off him, closing his book and having it disappear before he steps off his platform. You take a good look at the man who steps on the platform after him. Golden wings that seemed to glow, a black pinstripe three piece suit that as you watched, he took off the jacket and hung it on part of the gate. He rolled up his sleeves and sent a wink your way.
“you’re three hours late Yamada” Aizawa says and he just laughs, holding his hand out palm up as his own book appears. It looked similar to Aizawa’s except that it was DIY bedazzled “but I’m here aren’t I? Stop complaining” Aizawa rolls his eyes and looks at you “please follow me” you nod but he’s already walking away, leaving you to scramble to catch up.
“What’s going on?” You ask as you walk quickly beside him “the book says you’re a saint, all good things. But you’re sent to level 8 which is someplace I don’t think you should go”
Your steps falter for a moment and he turns to look at you, noticing the way you chew your lip and the worry in your eyes, he leads you down several confusing hallways that progressively change from golden to black, until he opens the one with his name on it.
“Okay. Tell me what you did” he says as he sits at his desk and you sigh, sitting on the chair in front of him you raise your arms in defeat “I may have killed an angel” you whisper and he is stoic for a moment before he busts up into laughter. He’s holding his stomach and wiping tears from his eyes as you chuckle softly, mostly because of how cute he was when he laughed.
“You killed an angel? You? Little innocent animal saver?” You frown and cross your arms “yes. I did. With his sparkly sword” Aizawa stops laughing then and places his hands on his desk “you killed an angel with a seraph blade?” He asks quietly and you sigh “it was an accident though I swear”
He waits quietly as you gather your thoughts and tell him your story “there was a large black dog in the road and this guy hit it with his car on purpose. I was so mad! I went to save it, to step in, but he was quite a large man. He told me he was an angel and the dog had to die. I saw the blade in his belt and I grabbed it, standing between him and the dog I told him to back up. He started laughing, unfurled his golden wings, and then he lunged for the dog and I stabbed him. He and the sword disappeared into golden air and then when I turned around the dog was gone. I was too in shock to notice the truck coming around the bend and -“ you smack your hands together signifying how you died.
“You’re very calm about it now” he says and you shrug I’m dead. What can I do? No reason to flip” Aizawa stands “come with me. There’s someone we can talk to, maybe he can fix it.”
“Where are we?” You ask this time as you follow him through the station that seemed more like a maze, making your way back to the golden hallways. “we‘re at The Station. It’s a midway point between death and the after life. I’m an Angel of death who works at the gates and leads people to the right destination. The station is run by angels of life and angels of death with the bosses being Yagi, the original Angel of Life, and Midnight, the original Angel of Death. We’re going to see Yagi. Angels of life are down golden hallways, death down the black ones” You hum in acknowledgement, signifying you understood before sighing and saying
“and not that I’m not, ya know, super grateful that the hot guardian of the gates is helping me… but .. why are you helping me?” You ask and he clears his throat, pretending to not be phased by the fact you called him the hot guardian of the gates, “I just think it’s not right. Someone as kind as you shouldn’t be sent there” you hum softly, a smile tugging at your lips, but you don’t ask any more questions for the time being.
He knocks on a large golden door, a stern voice yelling out “enter” making your ears prick in recognition. Aizawa opens the door and you lean around his wings to look inside the office. “Aizawa” you whisper as you stare into the eyes of the Angel of Life “that’s him” Aizawa looks down at you “that’s who?” He asks and you look up into his eyes, yours wide with shock “that’s the angel I almost killed”
Aizawa looks at Yagi for a few beats and then leans in, grabbing the door and slowly closing it again between them and Yagi. “You stabbed HIM?” He asks in a whispered yell and you nod sheepishly. “That means the dog was a demon hound. You stabbed an angel and saved a demon hound.” He thinks for a moment before leaning in close “no one holds a grudge like Toshinori. We’re gonna need a little more help” you hear yelling behind his door and the sound of grunting as he pulled himself out of his chair and made his way around the desk.
Aizawa tries to move you but his fingers go through your soul and then he just points to the corner “hide!” You quickly run down the hall and around the corner just as the door opens again. “Aizawa. You’re alone?” Yagi asks, holding his side as he leans out the door to look in the hallway “yes sir. Just me. Just wanted to see how you were. I heard you've been hurt” he says quickly, trying to cover the reason he was there. “Oh! Yes. Some girl. The guts she had to save a demon didn’t get her far HA” he chuckles as he makes his way back into his office. “Well that’s all. I’m glad you’re doing well sir but I should..” toshinori puts his hand on Aizawa’s shoulder and leads him further into the office.
You lean against the wall and wait, wondering why, if his hands passed through you, you don’t pass through the wall. You place your palm against the wall and knock a few times, feeling like you were solid. You kick it and the same. You frown and keep gently slapping the wall wondering why you don’t go through it.
“What did the wall ever do to you?” A familiar voice like a song said behind you and you gasp, turning around and grabbing your chest. The golden angel from before laughs “sorry if I scared ya” he says and leans in “weren’t you the soul who left with Aizawa?” You nod and stand up a little straighter “I’m waiting for him actually” you say and he grins “perfect! I’ll wait with you. I need to talk to him” he leans up against the wall beside you “so. Why were you beating up the wall?” He asks with a lopsided grin, his golden hair falling into his eyes.
“I was wondering why I don’t go through them if people can’t touch me like this” you say, your cheeks feeling warm but knowing it’s just a phantom feeling. “They’re enchanted. This is the Station! Can’t have ghosts going wherever they please” he says with a laugh and you’d die of embarrassment if you weren’t already dead “right that makes sense”
When Aizawa returns thirty minutes later he looks even more exhausted than he did before. “Yagi likes to tell stories” Hizashi said into your ear and you giggled “what are you doing here?” Aizawa asks Hizashi and you move to stand beside him. “I had something I wanted to tell you but now it’s obvious you have something going on that you desperately need help with” Aizawa doesn't even try to deny it, he just glares at the golden angel. “I knew it!” Hizashi said with a grin and then places his palm flat on the wall, a golden door popping up in the space. “..how did..” you begin to question and Aizawa sighs “angels can open doors wherever they need if that said door was enchanted by them. Usually just the door to their home since everything else is easily accessible” a small “oh” leaves your mouth as Hizashi opens the door and ushers you both inside.
“Now talk” he said as he flips on his light, illuminating the open space of what looked like a living room except everything was gold and white. “Get your book” Aizawa says and Hizashi does, raising his hand palm to the ceiling and his thick bedazzled book materializes in his hand. “Y/n say your name” Aizawa orders and you do “y/n l/n” you say quietly and the book opens, flipping a few pages before landing on yours.
“Aww you had a cat named Jonathan! He was chubby and sweet!” You grin and nod remembering your cat “Zashi” Aizawa says sternly and he laughs “alright alright. I’m looking I’m looking I’m look-... level eight? How?” His eyes flick up to meet Aizawa’s and he looks to you “tell him”
Laughter fills the apartment “she stabbed Yagi with his own blade and saved a demon hound!” He can’t believe it. You put your hands on your hips “that dog was defenseless. He needed my help” “yeah and now you need mine. There’s no way he’s going to overturn this. Unless” you look up at him “unless what?”
“No. Absolutely not” Aizawa folds his arms, his wings ruffling and sparks falling to the ground. “Hey keep your sparks out of my home! And yes! It’s the only way. We invite Toshinori and Midnight to dinner and we have her plead her case. You know Midnight doesn’t stand for bending the rules for your own grudges and she’s the only one high enough to force Toshinori’s hand.” Aizawa groans “you know I’m right” Hizashi says with a smile and Aizawa groans even louder “fine. Tomorrow night. She’ll stay with me tonight since I have a spare bedroom”
Hizashi chuckles “dude she’s a ghost. She doesn’t sleep”
“well she can’t just wander around she’ll get caught and sent to level eight”
“I think we should have a sleepover”
“No.”
“Yep. I’ll be over later when I get my things together”
“You will not”
“Bet”
Aizawa groans knowing he can’t stop him
“Why are you helping anyway?” Aizawa asks and Hizashi pauses with a smile “because you don’t do anything against the rules unless it’s the right thing to do. Why are you helping her?” He asks with an eyebrow raised and Aizawa clears his throat, his cheeks warming, “she.. she doesn’t belong in 8”
“Exactly. So let’s keep her out of the eighth” hizashi pays Aizawa’s shoulder with a chuckle before sending a wink your way “now go, I’ll be over soon”
Aizawa places his palm against the door and it turns from gold to black. He opens the door and lets you through first before looking back to Hizashi “thank you for your help” he says and Hizashi waggles his eyebrows “I always got your back yo” he gives him finger guns with a laugh as the door closes.
Aizawa’s place was cozy. It had a big living room with black couches that you can see are super comfortable, it has an attached kitchen with black marble countertops and dark stained wooden cupboards. The floors' hardwood matched the cupboards and the living room had a big stone fireplace with a large television above it. There was a hallway you guessed led to the bathroom and bedrooms.
“Oooh I like this a lot better than gold” you say and he feels his heart skip. A thought he doesn’t dare entertain entered his head and he pushes it out just as quick. — You looked like you belonged here and he liked seeing you in his home. —
“All furniture in this realm is enchanted so you don’t have to worry about that” he says as you walk through his living room. You gasp for a moment then look down, realizing you should have taken off your shoes but you’re met with a semi transparent pair of toes. “What’s wrong?” He asks and you laugh gently “I thought I forgot to take off my shoes but I guess it doesn’t matter if I’m just a soul” you hold out a foot “at least my toes are still painted though!” You say with a grin and he chuckles, you looked adorable.
“Usually you look like you do when you die in regards to clothing” he states and sits on one of the large sofas. “Oooh so that means that truck hit me so hard my shoes came off” you chuckle softly
“you’re the strangest girl I’ve ever met. You’re taking this better than I’ve seen anyone” you shrug and sit on the other side of the couch, pulling your knees up.
“I had a good life. I mean yes I had friends and family I know I’ll miss and they will miss me because come on, I’m funny and sweet and amazing in all ways” he chuckles and you feel the familiar blushing feeling without the warmth on your cheeks. “But it doesn’t help anyone if I freak out. I can’t change it. I can’t go back. All I can do is make the most of my life now. This is it. Gotta make it the best” he smiles at you for a moment, impressed by your attitude. His heart pangs when he realizes he won’t get to see you again once you go to your level after tomorrow night.
“What’s life like here?” You ask and he lets out a laugh that just was air out his nose “what do you mean?” He asks but doesn’t move from his spot, head back with his eyes closed. “tell me about your life here” you cross your legs and face him, leaning your elbows against your knees.
“Well” he says “I work at the gate in the mornings, I do my paperwork, I get sent on different missions to the underworld or to the upper worlds. I have friends and we get drinks on friday nights” you hum “do you date? What is that like here?” He opens an eye and looks at you “why? Interested in Hizashi or something?” You bury your face in your hands and chuckle “no! I was just curious! It’s very similar to my life. I think that’s cool. Can you die?” He laughs at your reaction, not missing the way his heart relaxed when you said you weren’t interested in Hizashi. “Kind of, yeah. But It’s hard to do.”
You ask him any questions you can think of, slowly moving closer together on the couch. you’re thigh to thigh but he can’t feel you and you are only vaguely aware of his thigh right beside yours. “Let me see your hand” you say softly and he raises his hand palm up and holds it out. “Close your eyes” you say and he hums, a small smile on the corners of his lips as his eyes close. You try and use the feelings you have, pulling all the comfort and happiness you’ve felt today and how grateful you are for his help, how cool and cute you think he is, “tell me if you feel anything” you whisper and then slowly slide your hand against his palm.
He gasps softly and you smile, you felt him this time and he felt you. His head raises to look at your hands and he closes his fingers around yours. “You’re so warm” he says and you laugh happily “Im grateful to know you” you say and look up into his eyes “no matter what happens tomorrow. If we can’t convince him and I have to go to level 8. Thank you for this experience and for letting me get to know you” his other hand reaches up, you feel his fingers ghost over your cheek, it tingled and made you smile. “Y/n I..”
Whatever spell was on you both, whatever made it so he could touch you, was broken when Hizashi came through the front door. “HEYYOOO” he said and kicked the door closed behind him.
His hand phased through yours and so did the one on your cheek. Aizawa lets out a sigh and you laugh as you stand from the couch “hey Hizashi. Good to see you again” you said with a shaky breath but he didn’t notice anything.
“So here’s the plan” hizashi said as he sets down bags of ingredients, some of which you don’t recognize. “I sent emails to both Midnight and Toshinori, saying that the other requests them at a dinner that will be held and I just put your door number. They’ll definitely be here at six pm tomorrow. We will feed them and y/n here will apologize for stabbing Toshinori and then Midnight will make him change it since his ruling is against the rules” Aizawa stares at Hizashi for a few beats until he leans forward “Hizashi that’s a terrible plan. You should have talked to us first before you sent any emails. Now there’s a possibility we will lose our jobs. We should have met them somewhere like the station cafe.” Hizashi just rolls his eyes “it’s a great plan. It’s happening you’re welcome everything will be fine. Midnight owes me one..” You look between Hizashi and Aizawa with wide eyes. Not really knowing what to say or do.
“What do I..” Aizawa holds up a hand and you wait.
“We’ll make it work.” He says “We will just have to have a good case. Which I think we do since you were such a saint. We’ll plead it that you thought it was a normal dog, paired with your volunteer work, it should be okay” you smile, feeling a little relieved.
“no ones gonna talk about how gate keeper golden boy here is owed by the original angel of death Midnight?” You ask and look between them, Aizawa rolls his eyes and Hizashi laughs like it’s a funny story “no? Okay then” You say and Hizashi leans in “I’ll tell ya later” Aizawa sighs “Let’s just go over what you’ll say”
After you spent the next hour spitballing what you should say to them, the rest of the night was actually really fun. Learning more about these men as Hizashi keeps talking. It was like when you would hang out with your friends when you were alive, having fun just being around the people you care about. You could tell that no matter how annoyed Aizawa acts, he really cares about Hizashi. They’re best friends.
A while later, when the jokes and laughing died down, Hizashi was laying on his stomach on the floor, his wings spread out a little and Aizawa had his feet up on the coffee table as he dozed in his spot. You were staring at and admiring Aizawa’s feathers. His right wing edge rested beside you on the couch and you were running your fingers through them, barely able to touch them but when you got it to work they would spark under your touch and it would make Aizawa smile just barely but that was enough to make you keep doing it. It was a little ticklish but he liked that you wanted to touch them, liked that you were giving him attention.
“So who’s wings are bigger?” You ask and Hizashi groans into his arm while Aizawa chuckles. “What?” You ask and Hizashi looks up “he’s just smug because his wings are bigger. Mine are prettier though” Hizashi says and stands, opening his wings fully and shaking them out, golden fractured light falling through them as they seemed to buzz. You chuckle “they are very pretty” you say and Aizawa puts his feet down. he grunts when he stands, his knees popping as he makes his way over to the middle of the room.
He smirks at Hizashi before turning and looking at you with a wink. He slowly unfurls his wings, they were longer and more full than Hizashi’s, golden and red sparks falling to the ground as he ruffles the feathers which were obsidian and shiny. You gasp and Hizashi just rolls his eyes hidden behind the obsidian wall.
“You’re breathtaking” you say and stand, wanting to get a closer look. You reach out and run your fingertips down the edge, a spark coming from your fingertips against his wing when you touch and you gasp pulling your hand back “sorry!” He just laughs “it didn’t hurt” he said and you smile and reach out again to touch him but Hizashi is shoving his wings closed “no more of this” he’s saying and you laugh as you get out of the way for them to fight over wings.
It ended with Aizawa holding Hizashi’s arms down and his wings down with his own, to a bystander it looked like a very intense hug. You wish you could take a picture. “Do you guys have phone or cameras here?” You ask and Hizashi points to his bag before going back to his struggle with Aizawa. You grin when you find a phone similar to yours when you were alive “k! now smile!” You say and Aizawa looks over with an an amused look and Hizashi immediately put up his hands in peace signs and sticks out his tongue.
“Oh that’s so cute” you say and Hizashi breaks from Aizawa’s hood to come look “oh it is! It’s now my Lock Screen. Now people will actually believe me when I tell them I’m your best friend awww!!!” You smile and laugh at the little blush that’s on Aizawa’s cheeks.
Aizawa gave his room to Hizashi who squealed with glee “his bed is the most comfortable” he said before heading down the hallway “you can have the spare room” you laugh “Aizawa I don’t sleep” he laughs “I know but still. It’s space for you to use. I’ll have the couch.”
You lay in the bed for a few hours. Looking out the window at a sky with stars you didn’t recognize. You sigh and toss and turn before giving up all together. A small crash sounds from the livingroom and you get up to go check.
“Are you okay?” You ask he looks up to you from where he’s cleaning up a broken glass. “I’m okay. Sorry if I disturbed you” he says and you smile “no I was just laying there. I don’t think it’s possible for me to sleep” you say and sit in the couch where you were before “you can take the bed, you need it more than I do” he throws away the broken glass and then sits down next to you “it’s okay. Really” you sit there together in the silence and the dark. “Were you always an angel?” You ask and he nods “how old are you?” He laughs “angels don’t age after they reach 30 and 30 years here are longer than earth years. I can’t tell you my exact age, but I have been around for a long time”
He feels oddly relaxed next to you, the anxiety he had felt as he tried to sleep on the couch was gone now that you were here. You take the pillow from the side of the couch, smiling when you’re able to touch it and move it. You place it against his thigh and curl up against him on the couch. He gasps softly, his hand hovers above your shoulder for a moment before he tries to rest it against you.
His smile spreads when his hand touches you, the warmth of your soul feeling solid as his hand rests against your shoulder. He drags his fingers down to your elbow and then back up to your shoulder. “I don’t know how it’s working but don’t stop” you say and he chuckles, his fingers keep brushing against you gently and it sends tingles to your heart, before you know it your eyes flutter closed and the soft tingles lull you into a semi sleep.
“Oh if only ghosts showed up in pictures” Hizashi says and then snaps the photo “oh wait they do on my enchanted camera!” He laughs and pulls up the photo, smiling at how cute it was. You’re asleep on his lap and his hand is resting on your hip as he’s turned into you. He shakes Aizawa’s shoulder “you’re gonna be late” he says and Aizawa groans “thanks” he mumble as he gently gets up and moves, making sure to not wake you.
When you wake up it takes you a moment to know where you are, you thought it would be a dream but nope you really are dead and are really on the couch at the house of an angel of death. “Good morning sunshine” Hizashi said “we get to hang out until Aizawa gets off work” he had a look of mischief in his eye it made you a little scared if you were being honest
“Are you sure this is okay?” You ask for the seventh time as Hizashi finishes enchanting items of clothing. “Yes it’s fine. We will just put you in some clothes and a hat and then I can show you around”
You looked in a mirror and all you saw was a floating giant furry black coat and large hat with black boots that were surprisingly your size “Is this fine? Is this normal?” He laughs and nods “of course! Would I lead you astray?” You look at him with one raised eyebrow “I actually think you might” you say and he laughs, snapping his fingers and changing his outfit into tailored black pants, a button up light blue shirt tucked, and a black vest with a golden pocket watch. “Let’s go!” He says with excitement and places his palm against the door, it turns red and he squeals “you’re gonna love this!”
You didn’t really love it. He took you to the mall and to this cafe he frequents and it had so many people you felt stressed. He used you to hold his bags and listen to his angel gossip which was interesting at first but now you couldn’t care less about if Sandra had her baby yet or why he wasn’t invited to the baby shower.
He takes you back to his apartment and you sigh in relief by putting down all his bags. “Stay here I’ll go get Aizawa” he says and before you can even respond he’s changed the door and Aizawa is walking in. “What did he do?” Aizawa asks and you sigh, throwing down the fur coat and hat, shaking out your hair even though it still looks fine.
“I don’t even know where to start” you say and he laughs, changing the door and holding it open for you. You admire him as you cross the room to the door, black straight jeans, a dark green button up with the top few buttons undone showing a little of his trimmed chest hair. His shirt was rolled up to his elbows and tucked in with a black belt and black ankle boots that look like he could kick anyone's ass. You would blush if you had blood, he blushes from your soft gaze and the obvious way you took him in. “Green looks really good on you” you say as you pass him and he smiles “thank you”
You tell him about your day as you help him prepare the dinner, he isn’t shocked at all and it makes you laugh. “He’s just like that?” You ask and he nods “our entire life has been similar” you laugh and smile, thinking about them growing up together. “Do you think this is going to work?” You ask and he sighs “I really hope so” he says sincerely, his voice soft.
Hizashi comes through the door ten minutes before six and you feel that if you had a heart it would be racing. “I’m going to die” you whisper and Aizawa smiles and looks down at you “it’s going to be okay. Plus you’re already dead” you stick your tongue out at him and he smiles “it’s okay. We have your back” Hizashi adds and then the doorbell rings.
“thank you for coming” Aizawa says as they come inside and sit at the table. “Why are we here?” Midnight asks and that’s when you speak up “I would like to apologize to the angel that I stabbed” you say and then Toshinoris eyes land on you and he gasps “you!” He says and you nod “I asked them if they would help me apologize because I shouldn’t have done that” you bow your head “we thought a dinner would be nice way to apologize and then maybe I could ask you to change my level” you say, your head still down
“Wait? What’s your level?” Midnight asks and she sets down her knife and fork to hold her hand out palm up, her book was smaller than the rest and all black with red lined pages “name” she asks and you raise your head “y/n l/n” you say clearly and her pages open to yours.
“EIGHT?” She exclaims and looks at Toshinori who folds his arms and looks away with a smug smirk “I stand by my choice” he says and turns his chin up “oh you big baby! Change it right now!” Toshinori sighs and throws up his hands “fine!” He says and flicks his wrist “it’s done”. You watch midnight's book reflect the change. “What’s level 1?” You ask and Aizawa sighs in relief “it’s good. You’ll be happy there” he says, his smile not really reaching his eyes.
He was told by many people that he could be happy here, but he’s never once felt that happiness until he had met you. But he couldn’t tell you that. Not when your happiness is in a different place.
“I’ll take her there myself” Midnight says and stands, dusting off her skirt “r-right now?” You ask with wide eyes and she nods “no time like the present” “o-oh! Okay!” You all stand quickly and you look at Hizashi and Aizawa “thank you guys for helping me. I really can’t ever repay you. I guess if you’re ever at my level look me up?” You laugh awkwardly and they nod with a smile.
Midnight is waiting at the door tapping her toe in impatience. “I guess. Goodbye” you say and turn to go but gasp when Aizawa’s hand grabs yours, firm like you weren’t just a soul, and pulls you to his chest, hugging you tight. You wrap your arms around him, finally allowing yourself to acknowledge the pull you felt to him. You sigh and hold on to him for just a moment “goodbye” he whispers and then let’s you go. When his arms let you go you’re turning and walking out the door.
The walk through the halls was quiet until you made it back to the main station. She walks you all the way to the gate before turning to look at you. She cups your cheek and looks deep into your eye for a moment like she was trying to read your soul.
“There’s another option, you know” she says and let’s go of your face. “What do you mean?” You ask “you can go to level one, build worlds and live forever with unlimited power. Or” he says and looks back deep into your eyes again. “You become an angel of death. You stay here, as my charge. You’ll work under Aizawa and he’ll train you” you feel your heart race. It’s not even a choice for you, you know that’s what you want. You’ll have this life with him over any level of heaven. “Can I.. can I ask him?” You ask and she laughs “of course!” Her hand slaps the brick next to the train tracks and a black door emerges “I can find all doors within this realm” she explains and then knocks.
Aizawa’s phone pings and he pulls it from his back pocket “what’s this?” He asks Hizashi as he opens his message “it’s a picture from this morning, I thought you might want it. rare Aizawa Emotion captured on film.” Hizashi says with a laugh but Aizawa isn’t listening. He’s staring at the picture of you in his lap sleeping, how his body is turned towards you. His heart feels like it cracks a little but his oncoming sadness was postponed by a knock to his door.
“Hi” you say softly when he answers “hi” he says, a little confused. You chuckle and rock on your feet “I was given a second option” you say and he feels his heart race. He lets go of his door and steps closer to you “what is it” he asks and you smile, tilting your chin up to match him “I .. I can become an angel of death. I can stay here. She’d have you train me” he can’t help the small smile on his lips “is that.. something you want? Do you know what you’re giving up in level one?” He asks and you nod softly “I know what’s there.... I want what’s here. but only if you don’t mind training me” you say and he shakes his head immediately “I don’t mind!” He says quick and maybe a bit too loud
“Try not to be so desperate!” Hizashi yells from the background somewhere and you laugh
“I’m not.. I’m not desperate” he says and scratches his neck and you chuckle, seeing full well in his eyes just how desperate he is to tell you to stay with him. “I’d like to stay here, Miss Midnight, if you would” you turn to her with a smile and she leans in, kissing your forehead
You gasp, your body beginning to tingle as you become a solid again. You get a shiver as you feel a body again, laughing you look down at your hands, now solid and not transparent anymore. “Look at me!” You say with a laugh “take her by HR Monday morning they’ll get her set up” midnight says and then walks through a door she’s already brought up.
You walk into Aizawa’s apartment and Hizashi comes up from the couches “woah man look at her wings!” He says and you gasp, looking behind you as you’re suddenly aware of the ability to move them. They unfurl a little more and turn out to be a little smaller than Hizashi’s. Obsidian black with iridescent hues to the edges. “They’re beautiful” Aizawa says and reaches out to cup your cheek
“I’m just gonna..” hizashi points behind him and then walks to far wall, summoning his door and disappearing.
“You stayed” he says and steps closer to you you grin at him “I did” he smiles and leans down pressing his forehead to yours “for me?” He asks and you laugh “partially. I know it’s weird because we’ve known one another a day. But we did meet at the gates of death so maybe it’s not too weird. Plus I thought, being an angel of death sounds cool as hell and a heaven in and of itself. If I get to be with you, that’s just the icing on the cake” you say and he laughs, pulling you into his chest “I’m honored you’d do something like this for me. I was hoping somehow I could see you again” he whispers, “you can see me forever now. Hope you won’t regret it” you tease and he shakes his head with a smile “i highly doubt it” he says, his hands holding your cheeks as he leans down, pressing his lips into yours.

headcanon- secretly rich s/o
request: @rayanicaraynbow Hi! This might be a little weird, but could I get headcanons for Todoroki, YaoMomo, Shinsou, and Jiro with a s/o that is the child of a pro hero/someone who's just generally rich, but they have a different last name than their rich parent, so nobody knows their rich. I'm not sure if this is *too* specific or not specific *enough*. If not, that's fine, it was just a random 1 AM thought, and I couldn't find a rules list if there was one. I love your blog btw! :)
a/n: I wrote Shouto’s differently because this boy 100% has a rich people radar. idc it’s true.
TODOROKI:
Tumblr media
He'll probably know that you're rich before you tell him. He most likely saw you at a 'rich people' party when he was younger.
He knows how much it sucks to be judge by your parents' name so he'll ignore the topic of your family all together.
Shouto thinks it's cute and sad at the same time how much you try to hide your wealth.
He loves how nonrich you act. Going to thrift shops as dates, always sharing bills, checking price tags, not always getting name-brand stuff.
He loves how normal he feels around you. No pressure to go out to fancy restaurants. You tow can just make a nice homecooked meal.
Absolutely adores the low maintenance dates. You two can go for a walk in the park and call it a date.
You've already gone through your 'allowance' (while you have a couple hundred thousand in your bank account) and still need a sweater. He'll use this as an excuse to gift you his clothing. Seeing you in his shirts makes his heart do summersaults.
"Shouto.". The half-and-half boy turns around at the sound of your voice. His hearts warm up at the sight of you, a big smile plastered on your cheeks while you hold a shirt in front of you. "Look how cute this is! And it's only 300 yen.".
Shouta walks over to you and presses the shirt against you slightly. He tries to imagine how it would look on you. "It's pretty," he says. "But it'll look even prettier on you.". You give his chest a playful swat as you hide your face behind the shirt. "What, it's true.".
"You are a flirt, mister," you say before twirling around and walking to the changing rooms in the thrift shop. Shouta doesn't know what he's feeling. Maybe it's love, maybe it's happiness, maybe it's longing. He doesn't know. All he knows is that he's hooked on how domestic things like going shopping together feel. How normal everything feels. He isn't Shouto Todoroki, son of Endeavor. You aren't Y/n Y/L/n, child of one of the richest family in Japan.
No, you're just Shouta and Y/n. Just a young couple wanting to spend their afternoon together.
MOMO:
Tumblr media
She is very rich herself. Even though she should be able to recognize a fellow rich person, she doesn't.
She always pays when you go out to eat, she buys you the most extravagant gifts while yours are just average.
You even got a job, not wanting to solely rely on your parents' money.
Every time she offered to pay for something or gift you something, you had to stifle your laughter. Her intent is kind and sweet but at the same time useless. You could easily buy all the stuff she gifts you yourself.
You like to DIY stuff with her. Upcycling old clothing, tailoring thrift shop clothing, mixing broken items. You make it a bonding experience for both of you.
If she thinks that you're on the poorer side than she'll spoil you to death. Either with basic things like your favourite snacks or with that shirt she's seen you eyeing in the store.
She had no clue about your wealth so when she found out, she was perplexed.
It isn't weird for Aizawa to take attendance, though he forgot to do so most of the times. "Bakugou," he says. Bakugou grunts in response. You and Momo are too caught up in your own hushed conversation to pay attention to what the teacher is saying.
"Tanaka," Aizawa says. Fuck. Your attention is suddenly turned to the teacher. Students look around themself for the said Tanaka. "Oh, sorry. Y/l/n.". You raise your hand and drop it back down the second Aizawa acknowledges your presence.
You turn back to Momo. Her jaw has dropped and she's looking at you with wide eyes. "You're a Tanaka?". You nod at her question. Everyone knew the Tanaka's. They're the richest family in Japan, owning multiple renown hero agency.
"Yeah," you say as you awkwardly scratch at the back of your neck. "But I go by my father's name.". Momo nods. She understands the pressure of being seen as the 'rich kid'. The assumptions people make about you just because of your financial status.
"Don't worry," she says. "You're still Y/n to me.". You smile at her before continuing your conversation. God, how did you get lucky enough to end up with someone like Momo?
SHINSO:
Tumblr media
Shinso never cared about how much money you had or how little. All he cared about is that you're with him. That you don't judge him for his quirk.
So he never noticed the few designer pieces of clothing you had mixed between your wardrobe. Or the fact that you always had the newest model phone on the market.
He thought that you were just being kind and wanted to treat him when you offered to pay the bill whenever you went out to eat.
When you were younger, you tried to hide who your mother was more but as you went older and went to the U.A, you started to accept it more.
So, when Shinsou found out you're the child of a pro-hero, saying he's shocked is an understatement.
Guest speakers come every often. At least once a week, the school arrange a pro-hero to come and give the class a pep talk or give them tips. Due to this, you knew that it was only a matter of time before your mother would be standing before your class.
"I'll pick you up at your dorm.". You read over your mother's text a hundred times. Even though you weren't the one who's going to be standing in front of a class full of hyperactive, overly excited students you're still nervous. You tap your foot against the floor as you bit your nails.
"Y/n!". You turn to your left. You see your mother standing in the elevator, waving at your happily before mentioning you to come over. You take quick steps towards her. The moment you're within arms-reach she pulls you in for a hug. "I missed you. Have you gotten taller?".
You swat her hand away as she tries to ruffle through your hair. "A little. And I missed you too.". The elevator doors close and you two start to move downwards. You tell your mother all about your class but your conversation is interrupted when the elevator stops and another person enters.
"Baby?". You look up as you see your boyfriend standing before you. His eyes wander from you to the pro-hero, your mother, standing beside you. He bows slightly to her before standing beside you.
"Is this the boy you've been telling me about?" your mother asks as she nudges your side. Your cheeks heat up as you nod your head. "He's handsome!". You look over at Shinso, who's eyes are wide. He tilts his head as you can almost see the gears in his hand turning.
You smile at him. "Shinso, this is my mom," you say. With that his jaw drops. Sure, he saw how much you two looked alike but he didn't think much of it. His mouth opens and closes a couple of times as he tries to think of what to say.
"You didn't tell him about me?". You shake your head at your mother's question. The elevator doors open against and your mother quickly slips out of the it, leaving you and a barely functioning Shinsou behind.
You lace your fingers through Shinsu's and pull him out of the elevator. "You're.....She's your mom?" he asks. You nod while keeping your eyes fixed on the ground. Will he judge you? Will he be mad that you didn't tell him? "Huh, never would have guessed.". You're taken aback by his cheery tone but your confusion doesn't last long as Shinso drags you along with him to your classroom. Well, that went smoother than you imagined.
JIRO:
Tumblr media
Much like Shinsou, she doesn't care about your wealth. She doesn't care about your money. All she cares about is that you love her.
She'll start to grow suspicious when you buy concert tickets and new instruments for her like it's nothing but she won't bring it up.
Jiro will probably try to 'compensate' with your gifts and goes out of her way with cute dates and romantic gestures.
She doesn't say a thing about your wealth until you gift her a new guitar for the third time.
And when she accidentally sees your true last name on a letter your parents send you, she's surprised. You, her Y/n who's she's been with for so long, is filthy rich.
"Surprise," you say as you push the beautifully wrapped box towards her. Jiro quirks up her brow as she carefully rips the patterned paper of the box. She opens it to reveal a new guitar.
She recognizes the model. You've seen her eying it for a week now. Your heart warms up as you see a smile spread across her lips. "Again?" she asks. You nod.
"I couldn't help myself," you explain. "I wanted to hear you play on it.". Jiro just shakes her head with a smile as she continues to unbox the instrument.
You watch her intensively as she places the now fully unwrapped guitar next to her older ones. It stands out. It's shinier than the others. "How do you afford this?" she says. "A guitar is like 60,000 yen.". You just shrug as you pull her towards you.
"Oh, it's...inheritance.". You feel bad for lying straight through your teeth but you don't know who she'll react if she finds out about your family. You plaster on a smile.
"I saw the letter," she says. Your blood runs cold. Maybe she saw a different letter. Yeah, it must have been. "I don't care about your family.". Oh crap. She definitely read the letter.
Your smile falters a bit. Jiro notices and cups your cheeks. "Is something wrong?" she asks. Her voice calms you down a bit. You just shake your head.
"No, I just..." you say. "I just thought you might...act differently when you found out.". She shakes her head and plants a kiss on your forehead.
"God no, you're still my Y/n," Jiro says.
