"we were moving too fast" (run me through scene)
tldr:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was digging, because, well, I just find this scene kinda weird. Like, why, and also what for?
We start the episode in a very yellow way. The most yellow in this show. But the practice takes place at night, in the darkness. Like, they are in the darkness. About their real feelings. To each other.
Soooo, the sword. Piercing your left side. Should I say more? The sword is an arrow that pierces the heart.
Stede has problems with not hurting himself with his sword. He’s inexperienced and clumsy, just like his love. He doesn’t know what he’s doing. He doesn’t know what Ed’s actions really mean, and what his own mean to Ed.
Ed spanks him with his sword in a flirtatious gesture, but Stede doesn't know it was that, proving this later in the episode.
Ed doesn’t agree to draw, he even says he’ll never agree to that, he wants to take control over this relationship, over the direction and pace they go by. Stede, being inexperienced and curious, agrees.
Ed throws his sword away. He wants Stede’s love, but doesn’t plan of giving it back. He wants happiness, but isn’t ready for that step yet (because they haven’t eaten the snake snack yet)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ed opens his leather jacked, his armor, bearing himself, but not fully, still in his black t-shirt.
Ed threatening Stede to shoot him if he won’t stab him is him (Ed) jumping head first into that relationship, like taking it too fast or something. Stede panics, but feels pressured, that if he won’t, Ed will leave him. He doesn’t want to hurt him (to defile him if you will). Idk if it’s relevant, probably, why not, but we saw, that Ed’s gun wasn’t loaded. It was an empty threat.
Ed is happy when Stede stabs him. The stabbing being something very sudden and painful, but at the same time pleasurable, because it let’s him be closer to Stede. He invites great pain, of letting someone in his heart, just to be close. Like some kind of auto destructive act. You cannot get love without hurting yourself. Like it’s the only way of receiving that love, that closeness with Stede - destroying some part of himself. (hey, what did he do again in e9?)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“You see, getting run through is an art, I’ve had it done to me dozens of times. The key is to take the blade where it does the least damage.” sure babygirl.  Tell him how many affairs you had and how much you don’t care. Just because you can’t see it, doesn’t mean there’s no damage.
Ed says, the important bits are on the right side, according to science. First of all, it’s Stede, who’s the science guy here, second - heart is on the left. Ed doesn’t think his heart is important, doesn’t take care of it, just let people stab him in the past, no big deal. “I don’t even know, what it does!”, yeah, but we know, you detached from your own feelings dummy. And Stede also does, but isn’t confident enough to correct him. He doesn’t know what to do and doesn’t want to hurt Ed, so he just listens to whatever he says, but Stede doesn’t know Ed’s self destructive.
When Stede asks, how to get it out, Ed says to do it gently and slowly, and it’s him, who decides when to do it. Like what he was doing in episode 7 - slowly letting this relationship whither, getting ready to just go away, denying yourself any deeper connection.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But what Stede did in episode 9? He get it out fast and violently, leaving Ed bleeding out on that beach.
Stede has problems with getting the sword out, just like Ed had great difficulties with getting over his feelings to Stede. Stede’s still panicked and confused, but does as he’s told. He doesn’t decides on anything, doesn’t feel qualified to do it.
Hey, you know, who is in this ~darkness~ with them? Crying, probably not really sure why and what the hell is happening and why Ed would do that, and why it hurts so much, fuck it let’s kill Stede, that’s the best solution! Yeah. Acknowledging one’s feelings and communicating wasn’t fashionable yet.
Tumblr media
.
Run me through is basically Stede not knowing what the hell he is doing or should do in this relationship, blindly following Ed, and Ed destroying himself to be with Stede. Not bloody optimal.
***
Tumblr media
Izzy fuckin challenges Stede fuckin Bonnet to a fuckin duel, to get rid of his love rival. (and kinda sad Ed didn't do it even tho he promised) No chill on this ship.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ed, all smart after having first honest conversation about his deepest fears and crying, gained +1 to emotional intelligence and is brave enough to say “no” to Izzy.
Izzy didn’t have his crying session in the bathtub, so he uses his official version as to why it’s so important to get rid of Stede, Ed’s too anxious and unsure to fight more. He’s really new to this whole processing your emotions stuff. Maybe Izzy’s right? (because Ed believed Izzy’s bullshit about pets)
Tumblr media
Stede, sure he’s actually aceing this all relationship stuff finally, agrees. Ed’s worried, but Stede was sure Ed knows what he was doing, so whatever he learnt from Ed had to be brilliant and correct (bestie, no).
All that confidence, but then he asks “what are those [duel rules] exactly?”. Yeah… After saying that out loud, he gets more and more tense.
Stede is surprised by ferocity and suddenness of Izzy’s attacks. He didn’t expect he was fighting against someone This stronger (devoted and determinated). He probably didn’t know one can fight so aggressively.
Izzy’s doing everything to show Ed “look, I’m better than him, I care more than him!”.
Ed just watches in the background, anxious and worried. He doesn’t know what to do or if he should/can do anything at all.
Stede is shit at swordfight but he makes up for it with determination and resourcefulness. (he may not know how relationship with Blackbeard should go, but he’ll try treasure map in hopes it works)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Yield or die.” Stede throws gun powder in his face. You see Izzy, violence and hate will only blow up in your face.
The crew wants Stede to finish Izzy, and he does that stupid spank, (love is the solution, Izzy, mate). Stede doesn’t really wants to stab Izzy, he just wants to not die (Stede doesn’t believe in Stizzy). Seriously, their relationship is basically this: Stede not wanting to fight (not even knowing why should they) and Izzy wanting him dead.
Izzy cuts Stede’s way of escape. Time to choose Bonnet: you leave my man or you die.
Ed can’t watch this. Homewrecker vs homewrecker is too much of a conflict of interests. He cannot watch his partner killing his boyfriend.
“All right, let’s call it a draw” let’s work together, Izzy. We can solve it together, you and me. Find the compromise and all that. Fr they both want the same thing for Ed.
“Nah I’m good” and stabs Stede.
Tumblr media
So what we have here? Izzy, right hand of Ed, stabs Stede, who does Ed’s trick, that he learnt from him. Stede’s looking at Ed, while doing that. Izzy is responsible for doing the hard jobs in place of Ed. Ed couldn’t do it, couldn’t commit. Was too scared to do it. He doesn’t look at Stede, when that happens (just as he doesn’t have the courage to look at Stede when saying “So, uh, I reckon what makes Ed happy…is…you.”, he doesn’t say “I”, distancing himself from the act of bearing his heart. He’s not talking about himself, just asking for a friend etc. He doesn’t do anything unless Stede shows any sign of reciprocation). So yeah, when Stede asks, if he did it right, that’s when he turns back and sees what happened.
“Shut up! Don’t you ever shut up?!” Stop seducing Ed with your pretty words Stede.
Again: Ed’s processing what’s happening, Izzy's wrestling with the sword, that stuck in cherry wood (red and strong). Stede responded to Ed: I love you, and I’m here to stay. And when it clicks in Ed’s brain, Izzy’s sword’s handle breaks, removing the middleman. Ed isn’t scared anymore. Stede probably still doesn’t fully understand what a “you wear fine things well” moment they have, but he knows he wants to stay with Ed (and not die). The feeling is mutual, just that no one really understand what feeling it is. And Izzy cannot stop it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Remember, when I said the stabbing was about hurting yourself to be in a relationship? Stede wasn’t ready, but agreed to run away to China with Ed)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Also, to make yourself sad, consider:
Tumblr media
Stede getting miserable after letting himself take initiative for 1 second just to be rejected for it (in his eyes at least)
Izzy looks at Ed, completely crushed. So you breaking up with me?
Tumblr media
Ed only shrugs, Izzy started this fight after all. Izzy looks at Stede, still shocked, completely deflates and makes his walk of shame.
After Izzy’s gone, Ed comes to Stede, very impressed, and it’s the first time he faces Stede when initiating the touch (tbh it kinda parallels their almost embrace, when Stede stabbed Ed). Before that, when he touched him, he was always turned sideways to Stede, not fully facing him.
Tumblr media
“You shouldn’t’ve dueled him, Iz! We could've worked this out!” We could have invite him to our relationship Iz, if you weren’t such a possessive prick. No joke, Ed and Stede would agree to a polycule, after strengthening their relationship (like figuring out what they want etc., all three of them). Izzy, as a true tragic character, has played himself. (just like when in e9, Izzy wanted to take Ed for himself and escalated the conflict to such a unnecessary degree, that the only option was to leave him again. The harder he tries, the more it back fires)
In conclusion: Those scenes showed their dynamic in season 1, about Ed and Stede going too hard too fast, and now (s2) they’re learning to take it slow

Hey I’m really sorry if this is a really weird thing to find in your Ask box, but I saw that you tagged a really nice gif of Hugh hugging Picard (and I’ll admit I haven’t seen the show because I can’t watch Hugh die), and you said that Picard let him die and that he said “He got what was coming to him.” Is that true? Please tell me it isn’t. I’m really sorry. I’ve been really attached to Hugh ever since I discovered him, and if Picard said that about a person who died trying to protect his whereabouts I don’t know what I’m going to do.
Well it was all very sloppily written, and not really doing Picard's characterization any favors, which is why I'm pretty confident in saying that I consider the writing throughout the Picard show to be largely incompetent. Like, the Hugh arc in season one was not intentionally written to make Picard look like someone who lets his friends die and then shrugs it off, this was all just a result of an uncoordinated writers room rushing through tying plot threads together with little deep thought about them.
What happened is this:
Picard teleported out of the Hugh situation to Riker and Troi's home, knowingly leaving Hugh and Elnor stranded with a bunch of dangerous Romulan cultists who want to kill them. Picard then spends the rest of the episode eating pizza and reminiscing with Riker and Troi and never even mentioning the two people he just left in a life-threatening situation (especially weird since such a big deal was made about Picard caring about Elnor earlier in the season). Hugh has to watch some of the former Borg he tried to rehabilitate from the Collective die because he refuses to reveal, indeed, Picard's whereabouts. Hugh gets angry about this and attempts to activate the dormant Borg cube they're on to fight the Romulan cultists, who by the by have been treating him and the other former Borg as subhuman scum for years. He gets stabbed and dies before he can do so.
Later, in the season finale, Picard hears about this. He says, "Poor Hugh, it must have taken appalling brutality to turn such a gentle soul to violence" and moves on with his day. So, he doesn't say "He had it coming", verbatim, but to me it kind of sounded like the implication was "Well, Hugh got violent, and so he was killed for lashing out. Eh. Too bad. Moving on,"
It unintentionally leaves us with this kinda gross messaging that if you stand up to systemic oppression, and your oppressors kill you, you were in the wrong for "turning to violence" and it's obvious that you can expect to be killed. Earlier in the season, Hugh and the former Borg were used to represent people who are ostracized, marginalized, looked down on, and even systematically slaughtered by everyone else in the galaxy for things they couldn't help (seeing as no one chooses to get assimilated by the Borg, the crimes of the Borg are no individual former drone's fault, they are victims, not monsters). This concept of Borg rehabilitation was huge and felt like an amazing step forward in the Star Trek universe! My favorite part of the show by far! But the writers had no idea what to do with this sideplot and clearly had bitten off more than they could chew. This is such a huge concept with so much potential that it could well be the focus of a whole show, but they burned the idea on a side-plot in a season that was actually about androids. So they had no idea how to tie this plot up and therefore ended it in the worst way possible: with everyone involved dying for no reason and none of the main characters caring about it at all. So yeah
Basically the way he's characterized in this show made Picard go from my favorite captain to "fuck this bald bitch" so... I'm trying my best now to just ignore that the whole show exists

We are gathered here today to celebrate this beautiful day, which is the one our amazing king and archon of reruns was given birth to: AJAX
To celebrate, here is some juicy angst, enjoy.
TW: Manipulation, implied abuse. If there are any more, let me know.
This contains Chaeya (Childe x Kaeya), if you don’t like it, please don’t read it.
===
“S-Skirk? What are you—“
Before he could continue any further, a finger was gently put on his lips, its owner flashing him her signature smile.
“Oh Ajax, you never learn do you?” She said, a sort of sympathetic smile drawn on her features. She let out a sigh and brought the younger man into a cold hug, an unwelcoming one, while the latter was frozen in place, unable to even breathe.
“I knew that the second I would leave you, this would happen.” She continued, tracing a few patterns on his back. Ajax couldn’t move but he did feel his heart increase in speed and his eyes starting to water.
“How did you find me?” He managed to choke out breathlessly, hardly swallowing a sob. He needed to get away right now, but his body seems to have stopped listening to his orders.
“He doesn’t love you.” She ignored the question royally, instead choosing to stab right through the fragile heart she has already damaged a long time ago. Ajax’s unsteady breath hitched, body tensing up even more than before.
“What are you—“
“Oh dear, you haven’t noticed yet?” She broke the cold embrace and cupped his cheek with her hand, smiling when she noticed the tears that threatened to spill inside of his eyes. “He’s just using you for intel, don’t you just find it strange how a Knight of Favonius like him would so casually hang out with you, even after you told him about your identity?”
“No-“ His voice came out as a pathetic whimper, he felt so weak right now, under her icy gaze. “Kaeya wouldn’t-“
“He wouldn’t? How much do you know about him to affirm that?” Skirk raised an eyebrow as she looked questionably at him. The red-headed man opened his mouth, searching for a retort but found none, she was right, he didn’t know the other enough to affirm anything.
“That’s the problem with you Ajax, you’re too easily manipulable.” Her hand on his cheek moved upward to wipe a tear that started to roll down his cheek. “Why would someone like him like you? Why would anyone like you for that matter?” Ajax was too stunned to speak back so the only thing he did was stare dumbly, letting the words sleep through his heart like poison.
“You’re a selfish, arrogant person whose only passion is picking a fight. You hurt hundreds of people every day without feeling an ounce of remorse, you’re an awful man Ajax. You don’t deserve to be loved by anyone.”
Ajax’s body shook, lips slightly parting. More tears fell but this time, Skirk didn’t bother with them. “Thankfully for you, I do really like you.” She smiled brightly, as if she was still speaking to his child self.
“Give up on him Ajax, you know as much as I do that he doesn’t and never will like you.” She wrapped her arms around him again. “Let me save you, as awful as you are, not even you deserve such a treatment.” She whispered in his ear, a smile in her voice.
“Plus he deserves better, don’t you agree? Cut yourself some break, I’ll protect you from anyone who would try pulling a trick on you like that again. I’m doing this because I truly care about you Ajax, surrender yourself to me and you will never feel this sad again.”
Wordlessly, he returned the embrace with eyes as empty as a black hole. She was right, wasn’t she? She’s only trying to help him, so why did he feel so scared?
It was no use thinking about that, he realized.
Even if she did treat him badly, he deserved it.
He was a monster.
No one but her would love him.
Why doesn’t he save himself the trouble and just accept that affection? It could be so easy too.
He was an idiot, of course, he would be getting manipulated again.
He deserved it.
===
I always pictured Skirk as a manipulative prick, thus why this happened. Don’t take this for canon though, I only made her mean like that because I’m craving angst. Kaeya isn’t actually using Childe, Skirk only made him think he was.

You're Gonna Go Far Kid
Purpled couldn’t have been older than eleven when he first got blood all over his hands and clothes.
Then again, he had no choice as the man had brandished a knife at him, convinced that Purpled stole from him. Purpled had been outside one of Hypixel’s many indoor market places, where people sold all kinds of goods from precious ores to exotic dyes in little carts. But the real reason Punz was there was for the underground part of the markets, where it was a matter of time before someone sought a mercenary out for “business”.
Purpled never liked going into Hypixel markets-or any markets for that matter. Punz hadn’t cared either way. There were always so many people, so much loud noise, and if Purpled was really unlucky, so many strong odors too. So he mostly stayed outside the building, kicking pebbles around and carefully watching the many people entering or leaving the marketplace.
And that was when the man approached him. He reeked of strong liquor and another scent Purpled couldn’t quite place. The man continued to lurched towards Purpled, his uneven gait going unnoticed by the busy market goers.
“You, there, boy! Give me back my bag right now.” The alcohol in his system must have made him very bold, or very stupid, because he got right into Purpled’s face.
“I didn’t steal anything from you-I haven’t even been inside the market.” Purpled protested, shoving the man away.
“Bloody fucking liar, where are your parents! They ought to whip you for this. I know very well a boy lookin’ like you was reaching into my bag on the bench.” The man snarled.
“I didn’t do anything.” Purpled repeated.
Who sets their bag down on a bench in a crowded market full of thieves and swindlers? Purpled would have scoffed, if he valued his life a little less.
His face was beet-red and spittle flew from his mouth. And then he pointed his knife at Purpled and Purpled did the only thing he could. He stabbed the man with the dagger he kept in his pocket. The drunken man spluttered out a curse and staggered back, a dark red stain appearing on his chest. Blood oozed from the dagger, and the man fell backward, probably respawning back at another market stall.
Purpled stared wide-eyed as the weight of what happened hit him. He had killed a man. Purpled swallowed, looking around, but nobody seemed to notice. They hadn’t noticed when the drunk man had threatened Purpled either. Maybe because they were in a relatively secluded part of the market. Maybe because Purpled had stayed relatively quiet, and the crowd at large was so loud. Or maybe people had more important things to worry about and better things to do than stop a drunk man from killing a boy, or vice-versa. And Purpled realized in that moment that nobody would care if he died. The man very well could have killed Purpled, he had the means to certainly.
Perhaps if Purpled was a little slower, or a little less prepared, then he would’ve been the one to bleed out on the ground, clutching at his chest and gurgling.
And he had killed many, many more people after that. None of them permadeaths, he was sure nobody was stupid enough to play Bed-Wars on their last life, most athletes retired once they lost their second. But the Dream SMP wasn’t Bed-Wars, and unlike the drunken man back then, people cared that Slimecicle died. Was it because the angry man had started it, and Slimecicle was merely in the wrong place, at the wrong time when Purpled wanted to get his revenge against Quackity? Maybe.

Could you please do a fanfic for a male version of Yandere! Lady Dimitrescu (from Resident Evil Village game) with the reader.
I really like the Resident Evil franchise but I'm too lazy to know what the hell is happening in the older games XD I'm so sorry about that-
I loved watching playthroughs of Resident Evil Village (can't buy the game ;-;), but I felt like it was a bit empty, idk- I felt like the lords weren't really explored enough.
Also the Duke is the best husbando in the whole game- Fight me! >:3
TW/Tags: GN = Gender Neutral, I normally forget to properly name it when it's gender neutral, most of the time I just say "reader" // maybe ooc // lazy genderbent, I'm terrible with names // size difference // servant reader // mentions of gore/cuts/bruises/blood and deaths (and torture- I'm so sorry-) // reader gets hurt // mentions of vomiting
It's Dinner Already [Yandere!M!Dimitrescu x GN!Reader - Short Fanfiction]
It's dinner time already, unfortunately for you, of course.
It feels almost like a routine at this point- Which in a way, it is! You always take care of your tasks during the day, while dreading the inevitable time for dinner to arrive again.
Everyday, at this exact same hour, you and the other servants would prepare a meal for Lord Dimitrescu and his lovely… Sons…
As someone who has started "working" for their family only a month ago, you can positively say: Starving in the cold woods next to your village would have probably been a more merciful death than the ones you have witnessed at this place. You weren't as accustomed to such brutal executions at your village, actually you hardly even witnessed so much death, at least not so up close.
When you came here, you didn't expect to be instantly comforted and treated with respect- You were a commoner looking for an possibility to thrive in a noble's house, you were basically an easy target for any entitled selfish lord to easily belittle you and make you work for them until your hands would turn to dust. Yet nothing could have prepared you for such an odd situation.
Vampires. Monsters. Fiends if you were bold enough to insult them. You weren't exactly welcomed as much as you were snatched in and now forever trapped inside this castle. You can still hear their laughter… Their insane expressions of pure glee, the way they have bursted into maliciously laughing at your pain as you screamed for help trying to open up their door again and be free from that nightmare.
The chase didn't last even a second, they stabbed your legs with their scythes and brought you deeper inside this hellhole, as you cried your eyeballs out. The sons had brought you back inside so their father could take a look at the "intruder".
An absolute titan amongst the mortals. His height was only a sick reminder of how much power he had over the castle, over his sons, and now- Over you.
He may not have been as massive as he was threatening as you remind him to be, but at the time you were just in awe of his height considering you have never seen someone as tall and as mighty.
Then again- You have never seen vampires as well. Were they the same vampires as the books you've read as a kid? You weren't so sure of it…
You were hoping that if you begged for life and for forgiveness for having disturbed their peace, that they could spare you and let you go back to your village. Sadly enough, you commented on how you were only trying to look for a job as a servant.
You probably shouldn't have given them ideas, but it's too late to think about your mistakes now, however.
The sons begged to see your blood spilled, yet Lord Dimitrescu was merciful enough to grant you your "wish", as he said.
It has been a month ever since you were trapped inside and forced to work as a miserable little servant, and even if you didn't suffer the worst forms of punishments that they had in-store for you, you couldn't help but fantasize about just running away and never turning back.
You're so tired of this castle, of the smell of carnage, of the undeserved and over the top punishments, and especially of the people who would subjugate you to such things.
But at last, it's dinner time already, and you can't keep them waiting.
You feel your hands shaking as you walk out of the kitchen and into the dining room where the masters of the castle were so graciously waiting for you. You know what they're waiting for- But you can't let them distract you, for those that commit accidents are faced with fates worse than death.
Although you would rather do this process quickly, you can't afford mistakes to happen, so you take your time to set not only their meal in front of each one but to also pour "wine" into their glasses. You do all of this without looking directly into their eyes, only bowing down to each one and saying "excuse me"s in what they would call a "decent tone", as the smell of their disgusting beverage starts to irritate your nostrils. If you didn't know the main ingredient to Sanguis Virgins is, you probably wouldn't have this immense disgust over it, but right now just the thought of it makes you want to gag.
Only villains could so easily drink blood, and still make a living out of it.
Your internal thoughts of pure hatred against this whole situation almost completely blinded you to the fact that they were eerily, very quiet.
….
On most nights they would be talking with each other while occasionally making comments about you or your presence. Obviously they were all pretty nasty comments that they somehow expected you to back it up in some way or another, it's when they try to insert you into their conversation that makes you hate this occasion so badly, but it normally ends as quickly as it begins.
But as you are pouring wine to Lord's Dimitrescu, you notice that they haven't said a single thing while you were there. You stop what you're doing as you realize that they were silently observing you this whole time, and as you look into their expressions you come to think that maybe you have messed up-
Somehow, in some way or form, you may have messed up- And the fact this mistake could cost your head only agitates your already very worried mind.
….
A small moment of silence continues before the middle son, Cassandro, starts to chuckle in an almost innocent way- As if he was a kid who just said a bad word for the first time- And as he bursts into sudden laughter, Daniel leans towards Bello and loudly whispers:
"- I told you, they do this every time." To which Bello only replied with:
"- It's almost like hypnosis in a way."
The three sons were mesmerized by your ability to trap yourself in your own mind. They're probably aware that you do this as a defensive mechanism but they still find it comical in a weird way. You feel yourself get more tense as you look up at Lord Dimitrescu and see him staring back at you, with an unreadable expression across his face.
Before you could come up with an excuse to whatever you may have caused to disturb their dinner, the Lord himself spoke.
"- How inappropriate. As my sons, you three should know better than to laugh at our servant's airheaded mind-"
And as he said that, their smiles begin to disappear and be replaced with frowns and a bit of shame as they become stiff at their father's words.
"- And how inappropriate of you, too. To be so distracted in the presence of your masters, that's quite rude don't you think?"
But as he continued their bodies begin to relax once again as they realize he wasn't focusing on them- He was focusing on you.
Words have completely disappeared from your vocabulary as you start to think that maybe you won't be able to see another day after their meal is over. You try to mumble some possible responses before getting interrupted by him once again.
"- It's very rude, so very rude in fact that I think we deserve some answers. What were you so distracted about? What were you thinking that could have possibly taken over your small little head?"
Right now, he was sounding a bit condescending, thankfully not as angry as he would have been with the other servants right about now. Every little mistake was used as excuses for punishments- And if you were walking on thin ice before, right now you are one-step closer to breaking this entire lake and getting yourself killed by the freezing temperatures of the water below you.
Thanks to your luck (or maybe lack thereof, depending on how you see this) Daniel came to "your rescue" by coming up with an excuse for you.
"- Maybe they were hungry." He said without any indications of it being a joke or a lie- As the youngest yet craziest of the bunch, he always had that weird "naive yet dangerous" energy coming from him. He was naive enough to make that statement when it's very clear that you actually despise being near them, but he still was a son of Dimitrescu.
You know better than to underestimate any of these people.
The Lord didn't seem completely convinced as he side eyed Daniel who was blissfully eating his meal without acknowledging his dad's glance or his brother's looks of disapproval.
Without a warning you were pulled closer by your wrist and forced into sitting next to the Lord, who made a sign for another servant to bring you your food. This… Doesn't feel right at all, you're waiting for the worst to come yet you don't feel like you can ever prepare yourself enough for what they have in store.
"- M-My Lord- This isn't needed, I'm fine. I'll just continue my duties, if you can excuse me-" You plead, while trying to get up from your chair.
"- Oh but what host would I be if I didn't take better care of my guests? Poor thing, you must be starving if you can barely serve us wine-" And as his tone gets progressively more sarcastic and a bit louder, you can hear his sons snickering from the other side of the table, but you can't see them since you can't take your eyes away from him.
You're worried that if you look away for just one second, that you may not be able to see ever again.
"- It's so sad when one of our guests feels hungry- What's worse is when we are also very, very hungry."
"- Thirsty, even!"
"- Oh, I can feel my throat drying just at the thought of such misery!- Our dinner seems to be ruined."
You hear their whispers, you hear how they are clearly joking about this- How overly dramatic they're being over something so miniscule as you just- Ignoring them.
Let me remind you this is all because you refuse to look them in the eyes, that you refuse to give them any satisfaction for the heinous things they have done! You've seen so many people get hurt inside this castle only for their sick and twisted thirst and entertainment.
"- Indeed, my boys. My appetite is ruined, though dinner is not over yet-" Lord Dimitrescu spoke as he looked at his sons clearly enjoying your inevitable pain, but before he could continue he turns himself to you again, putting a hand on your arm and saying:
"- Wouldn't you agree?" Loud enough so that his sons could hear it, but soft enough to send the tiniest shivers down your spine.
"- …!"
"- No, no- Please, not again!-" He wouldn't dare do this, would he??
But before you could react he had already done it, you barely noticed how fast he had grabbed that knife to slice your wrist- His hand firmly gripping your arm as he made a deep enough cut so that your blood could be easier to access.
It somehow hurts just as badly as the first time his sons have stabbed your ankles and dragged you across the floor- At least you're not bumping into things like before, and even if it's a deep cut it's not as big as it could be if he used his claws to actually do this.
Oh, oh those claws- You almost thought he would use them on you… Those were something else. You can't remember exactly what happened, and why it happened, but you remember seeing him use those on another servant who may have crossed the line at some point.
Well "crossed the line"- More like "casually inconvenienced him". Lord Alcino may act like an incredibly high noble but he acts so childishly and in such an egotistical manner that you are surprised he can even have a castle like this in the first place! You don't remember what the servant has done to be so cruelly dismantled, but you don't doubt that it was for a stupid reason!
You miss that servant actually- Probably the only person who you actually talked with, and the first one to actually taught you how to do your job… You two could have been friends if he didn't intervene.
You briefly remember those moments before getting to experience the most weird sensation of all- Having your bloody cut be licked and sucked on. It hurts and it stings in a way that not only makes you want to cry but to also gag at the thought of you feeding this monster.
You refuse to look at him even in this scenario, you refuse to see him feeding off your blood… Sometimes you wish you were just as poisonous as some species of frogs, poisonous enough to make his mouth burn so he can experience a fraction of the pain he causes to others.
You tried fleeting away, you tried getting up and moving away but his grip on your arm only helped you in getting closer to him- You have your eyes closed as your only option is to cry and muffle your agony.
But as always, he is not satisfied with you just ignoring him. This was supposed to be a lesson, yet you're clearly avoiding your teacher as best as you can- But not today, little flower, you're not getting out of this so easily.
This is the first time he ever got to really taste your blood, as normally you would be behind the other servants while trying to learn how to please him, the only moments where he gets to see you is when it's dinner time, but oh- You're just so cruel!
Escaping inside your own little head while he has to content himself with just your image. Your presence is very much appreciated around this hour, little one-
He has noticed this before, of course, but it was only when he noticed his son's curiosity over the way you behave around them that made him organize this little trap. He didn't have everything planned actually, his plan only involved getting to this moment no matter what- And oh boy, has luck been on his side!
Your blood tastes better than expected of a commoner, your delicate and fearful whines of pain are just as delightful but what really gets him is this tough persona you try to convince everyone you have- You despise him, and it's clear to see why- But he knows his charms will probably work on you one way or the other.
He gripped your face trying to make sure you'll get to him in the eyes as he has a taste of you. Absolutely delicious, especially after you so gracefully "ruined" their dinner.
His sons were just watching as they continued to drink from their crimson glasses. They were just enjoying the show, as everything seems to easily amuse them- Their father was just showcasing how they were so much better than the common folk, and they have no other option but to take notes and to remember what they have to do if they ever feel ignored by the servants in the castle: Show who are the true masters of this place.
None of them were really interested in drinking from you, considering how all three seemed to recognize how their father has taken a liking towards you. No one would dare mess with their father's prey.
If you had enough strength in you, you would start vomiting as soon as this has started, but the more he takes from you the more you feel like you can barely stay conscious.
He wasn't supposed to take so much, at least not so soon- He wanted to just take a sip but he can't deny the fact he would rather drown himself in your blood than to let go.
He sighs, as he notices that you're slowly getting less and less aggressive, getting more and more tired as he drains you from this cut.
You're not unconscious yet, just barely stable enough to understand what's going on.
"- Sigh… Now that was a decent enough meal." He can't praise you for being tasty, can't have you being cocky around him.
"- Here, since I'm done here I'll take you to the servant's living quarters- And because I'm so kind I'll make sure that wound is safely secured and cleaned, so here- Come along now."
And as he stood up he offered you his hand so you could get up yourself, but you don't have enough energy to walk yourself to your room, thankfully you're already ready to go to bed and wish to never wake up again.
And as the nightmare never ends, he decides that if you are going to be difficult then you leave him no choice but to carry you there. How much has he taken from you?? Jesus, he should learn some self-control before doing this again- The absolute brute that he is.
Your vision may be a little screwed over because of the lack of red cells running through your body at the moment- But you have a weird feeling that you two aren't heading towards the servant's living quarters, as you feel like you two are quite literally going in the opposite direction.
Oh but it's fine- Right?
It'll be fine. Surely. After all, he already took what he wanted from you, and he doesn't seem to need more so- You probably won't have to worry about anything right now, dinner time is already over, you can finally relax now….
🍭꒰⑅ᵕ༚ᵕ꒱˖♡🍮꒰⑅ᵕ༚ᵕ꒱˖♡🍰꒰⑅ᵕ༚ᵕ꒱˖♡🍮꒰⑅ᵕ༚ᵕ꒱˖🍭
So I'm sick again- Sorry y'all, I just have a horrible immune system and I really don't understand what is wrong with me-
I'm sorry if you didn't like this boo :(

STILL INTO YOU.
iwaizumi, oikawa, matsukawa, hananaki.
› part one: all i wanted was you.
Tumblr media
— the one where they want you back, but you've moved on.
› angst.

Tumblr media
IWAIZUMI H.
Ever since you left, there’s been an uncomfortable feeling bubbling inside of Iwaizumi. He wakes up every morning hoping to see you next to him, only to be disappointed when he finds his new lover instead. He gets home and your name almost falls from his lips, before he sees them sitting on his couch. Guilt eats him up inside, specially when they smile at him so bright and loving.
It takes his new lover leaving him, saying he keeps calling your name in his sleep and professing his love for you, for him to realize how much he truly misses you. How bad he really fucked up.
Iwaizumi finds himself alone again, the echo of the door shutting closed still ringing in his ears, and he can’t take it. He needs to see you again.
When the bell rings at 2 a.m., the last thing you expect to see is Iwaizumi. It’s been months, after all, almost a year. And yet there he is, eyes puffy and red and tired. There’s a pained expression in his face, but he still lights up when you open the door and face him.
It takes him one look to realize you’re wearing someone else’s shirt, and as soon as he does his mind starts running wild. Is it his? Did he forget it at your place? Does this mean you miss him? Does he still have a chance? A small, flickering flame of hope ignites inside of him.
Then a second voice talks from somewhere in your apartment, asking who’s at the door, and soon a man emerges behind you. Iwaizumi’s eyes go directly to his hand resting on your hip.
“Who is this, babe?” The question is like a raging wind, killing the little flame in his heart.
“No one,” you reply, eyes cold in his direction as you close the door on his face, and all of the memories that accompany him..
Iwaizumi spends the next few moments standing in front of your door, trying to process the pain in his heart. It’s over. It’s over, he knows it is, and yet he can’t help the urge to knock on your door again and beg for you to take him back.
But it’s over, and there’s nothing he can do to fix what he so carelessly broke.
Tumblr media
OIKAWA T.
It’s easy for Oikawa to forget about what he lost while he’s all the way across the world. His new lover’s company proves to be a great distraction, one that consumes his nights and brightens his days. One that drowns the pain in his heart and makes it all disappear.
But then he finds himself back in his homeland, and he can’t do anything to prevent the surge of memories that hit him as soon as he sets foot in Japan. Everywhere he looks, everywhere he goes, the remnants of your love haunt him. Something as simple as an ad for that the brand of chocolate you loved has him wondering if you still like it as much as you used to. Does it still bring warmth to your heart when you’re feeling down? Should he buy some for you in case he sees you?
Except, he’s sure he won’t see you. Ever again. He repeats that over and over again, trying to resist the temptation to find you. In spite of the growing hope filling his heart, he’s still not prepared to see you again.
Oikawa spots you on the court, talking to someone his eyes don’t even register. He takes a step forward, like in a trance. Eyes locked on your smiling, laughing face. Fingers twitching with the need to touch you, hug you. Heart overflowing with all of the feelings he tried so hard to bury. He truly feels like his teenage self all over again, holding your favorite chocolate as he pours his heart out for you.
He’s a few steps away when you notice him. Your eyes widen in surprise before settling into a resentful kind of pain that makes his heart ache. Still, he puts on a smile, as wide and bright as he can muster, and puts on the whole “It’s been so long! I didn’t expect to see you here” act.
“Well, of course I am.” You say, looking as uncomfortable as he’s ever seen you. “My boyfriend’s in Japan’s team.” The words bring an end to Oikawa’s smile. Almost in slow motion, he sees you gesture to the person next to you, and only then does the man register in his visual camp. Begrudgingly, he shakes the hand the man offers him before making up an excuse to go back to his team.
His hand shoots up to his chest, right above his heart, and he can almost feel it break into a million pieces.
Tumblr media
MATSUKAWA I.
Matsukawa thinks it’s odd, how much he seems to miss your company after you’re gone. He used to think familiarity was dull, boring; but now finds himself missing it whenever his new lover asks what he wants from the coffee shop, when you always knew his order by heart, or when they sleep on his side of the bed, or when they don’t even bat an eye at the same jokes you used to love.
Not even the fire of a new love can calm the restless feeling.
He first realizes how much he truly misses you when he sees you in that coffee shop he knows you love. He’d gone there under the pretense of it being the nearest one, secretly hoping to find you already sitting at one of the tables. Maybe he’d talk to you, ask how you’ve been and if you’d mind it if he joined you. Maybe you wouldn't mind, and you would smile at him as you gestured to the seat in front of you.
Maybe you would want to see him again afterwards.
By luck or fate, he does see you; and his heart starts racing after his eyes land on you. However, things don't the way he expects them to happen. There’s no spark in your eyes when they look his way, no warm smile greeting him, nothing. And it hurts to be met with such disregard, but what makes it worse, what marks the final stab to his heart, is the man sitting next to you. He has his arm resting on the back of your seat, thumb darting out to collect the crumbs clinging to your lips. And you’re laughing and smiling so much, a sweet and adoring spark in your eyes he recognizes immediately. It’s the same way you used to look at him before he broke your heart.
Then your eyes meet his, and there’s such indifference behind them. There’s not even hate or resentment in your expression, just plain indifference, and he knows he’s lost you for ever.
Matsukawa freezes. Can’t even move a finger as he watches the gentle exchange. The other man throws his arm around your shoulders, pulling you close. Your form presses snugly against his, a soft laugh escaping your lips. Only the barista’s calling of his name manages to snap him out of it, after several attempts.
He reaches for his coffee with a numb feeling spreading throughout his body. Leaves the shop without sparing you a second glance, too scared he’d start crying if he has to see you with him again, if he has to see how happy he makes you.
Tumblr media
HANAMAKI T.
He stumbles upon you while he’s out at a club with Matsukawa. He’s been unreasonably irritable lately, upset, tired, agitated. His friend, as the caring man he is, decided to take him out for the night, thinking some stranger’s love might help improve his mood.
But Hanamaki isn’t interested. He isn’t interested in the pretty ones wearing next to nothing, nor the attractive ones sending him burning looks. He just isn’t interested, hasn’t been for months now, and he can’t figure out why.
He’s finally free, free of you and your nagging and the grip you had around him. Can finally go out and lose himself in alcohol and strangers’ love without a trace of guilt coming back to bite him.
He’s free, so why can’t he enjoy this newfound freedom?
The answer hits him when his eyes wander to the bar, landing on you like they’re being pulled in your direction. Hanamaki’s blood starts to boil as he sees the way you’re dressed, the way you shamelessly flirt with a man he’s never seen before. A man who’s too close to you, so much he doubts there’s any space left in between your bodies.
The man leans to press a kiss to your lips, and you seem to curl and melt around him with such ease. Hanamaki can’t bear to look any longer, can’t tear his eyes away either. Something seems to click in his head, and he’s taking the first step before he even realizes what he’s doing. But once he does, he can’t stop himself. His heart burns and stings and bleeds hurt.
Why does it hurt?
A hand falls on his shoulder when he’s nothing but a few meters away from you, fist ready to start a fight with that stranger that dared to touch you. When he looks back, Hanamaki’s furious eyes meet Matsukawa’s serious ones. “Haven’t you done enough?” The question is harsh and venomous, not a trace of friendliness in it. He looks back from your smiling face to his friend’s stern expression.
The heavy weight of realization finally hits him. He loves you. He loves you and fucked it all up because he couldn’t handle it. Tears begin to pool behind his eyes, a scream threatens to tear his throat apart. Matsukawa gives a relieved, sympathetic sigh before pulling him out of the club and into his car. Hanamaki sobs and cries and laments everything he ever did to you, and Matsukawa can’t do anything but listen to his friend drown in his own mistakes.

Favourite brother - Part 2
A/N: well, part one went down surprisingly well!
Tumblr media
“So, Daphne is now a duchess...”
Y/N raised her eyebrows expectantly at her brother, waiting for him to finish his comment. She looked back down at her embroidery and poked the needle through the fabric. “And?”
Colin leant forward in his chair. “Perhaps, now, the ton will be watching you.”
Y/N let out a unladylike snort. “Oh, please. As long as Miss Thompson is around and as long as Daphne and Simon are in their ‘newlywed’ bliss, I will always be the wallflower of the family.”
Colin eyed his sister with a sad gaze. He didn’t miss the way she stabbed her needle through the fabric a little harder than necessary nor the way she practically glowered at Anthony (probably hoping he would spontaneously combust).
“Colin, I can feel you staring at me,” Y/N said, looking up from her embroidery to give her brother a level stare. “What is it?” “You truly don’t believe you are worth anything, do you?”
Y/N paused, needle halfway through the fabric. She slowly pushed it through, trying to ignore the burning in her eyes.
Colin was right. She didn’t see herself as worthy of anything. Compared to Daphne who’d captured the eye of the ton and then a duke and a prince, she’d had nothing. Her three older brothers had always been swarmed with suitors and Y/N had truly believed that, maybe, one day, it would’ve been like that for her.
But apart from an almost marriage to Nigel Berbrooke that was out of spite to her brother and sister and was unwanted by her, she had had no proposals and no suitors.
A fact she wanted to blame Anthony for but that Y/N knew was down to nothing more than bad luck.
If she’d made her debut a year later it would’ve been the same story. Everyone would’ve been captivated by Eloise and she would’ve been forgotten. Or everyone would’ve been terrified of Eloise and been forced to look at Y/N.
Either or.
When you were a twin of someone who excelled in everything you didn’t, it was easy to be overlooked and forgotten - especially in a family of nine.
But up until she and Daphne came of age, she hadn’t felt overlooked. She’d felt loved and seen as an equal to her brothers. Anthony hadn’t been so protective (He'd always been protective of them all. But compared to how Benedict was when someone upset or threatened his family, Anthony was a saint.).
Everyone fawned over Daphne when she began courting Simon - and rightfully so. But Y/N’s prospects and potential suitors had become nothing more than polite conversation between her and her ladies maid.
“Y/N?”
Y/N inhaled sharply and jumped slightly at Colin’s voice. She looked over at him and gave him a somewhat unconvincing smile. “I’m fine. I just feel somewhat underwhelming compared to my sister,” she replied, turning her eyes back to her embroidery.
Which was beginning to look less and less like a violet and more like an oddly shaped duck.
Colin, sensing his sister wasn’t in the mood to be proved wrong, left the conversation there. He also didn’t want to end up with a sewing needle in his eye - the chances of which were becoming increasingly likely the more he poked and prodded.
Tumblr media
It was a beautiful ballroom.
There were candles in every window and garlands of flowers draped across the walls with petals dashed across the floor.
The garden was a lit with numerous furnaces and torches that blazed in the summer night and the fountain set in the centre of the sprawling, immaculate hedges and flowers trickled away.
None of the beauty, however, was making Y/N feel any better about being left out of yet another ball.
She’d been standing on the sidelines watching ever since she’d arrived. Benedict had offered to dance with her but Y/N hadn’t wanted to be mentioned in Lady Whistledown for dancing with no one but her own brothers so had declined the invitation.
Instead she chose to stand and watch the beautiful couples dance around the room as she sulked and drank yet another glass of lemonade.
“Why are you skulking back here?” Anthony asked, approaching his sister with a confused, concerned and curious expression.
Y/N swallowed the rather large gulp of lemonade she’d taken and tried not to give her brother a glare. “No one’s asked me to dance.”
“I’m sure Colin -”
“That is not the point, Anthony!” Y/N exclaimed, cutting him off. “I’ve had no one to dance with apart from my brother’s and Simon, who is now my brother too!” She almost growled but remembered that half the ton were around and forced herself to calm down. “Daphne has been the centre of everyone’s attention and had the suitors falling at het feet. I thought that now she’s married, they’d look to me - but apparently no one settles for second best.”
Anthony stared at his sister. “Y/N, you’re not second best to anyone.”
Y/N scoffed. She set her empty lemonade glass down, slightly worried she was going to through it at her brother’s head. “Then why haven’t you looked at me twice all season, Anthony? You walked off at my very first ball, leaving me to flounder. You never escorted me - not even tonight! You have, so far, not cared about who comes calling for me - which was no one, by the way - and you don’t care that I have had no suitors, no callers and no proposals!”
She was breathing fast and could feel her heart pounding in her chest. She was angry. She was so angry and even though most of the anger was at the ton for being so vain, she couldn’t very well direct it at a ballroom full of people.
Instead she directed it at her older brother, the one who should’ve looked out for her and guided her through her first season in society but didn’t.
Anthony, for once, had the decency to look hurt by his sister’s accusations. He had a broken look on his face as he realised she was right and that he’d ignored  her. He was stunned into silence.
But Y/N hadn’t want pitiful silence, she’d wanted an argument - for Anthony to get angry at her and prove her wrong but also right.
“Say something!” Y/N snapped, glaring at Anthony.
Benedict and Colin had noticed the, somewhat heated argument, and were trying to weave their way through the crowd to intervene before one of them snapped and punched the other.
Anthony opened his mouth and closed it again. He was speechless - a rare feat, indeed.
Y/N scoffed and shook her head. “Fine.”
She turned on her heel and disappeared through the crowd, heading towards the door to the garden.
Benedict and Colin made it to Anthony’s side and frowned.
“What was that all about?” Benedict asked, looking at Anthony expectantly.
Anthony swallowed and forced himself to look at his brother. “She hates me.”
Colin, who had sensed the argument was coming, put a hand on Anthony’s arm. “No, she doesn’t. She’s angry at the world and the expectations society place on her shoulders. All she really wants, Anthony, is you.”
“I’ve ignored her almost this entire season,” Anthony said, staring at Colin. “How...”
“There’s still a few weeks left of the season, though,” Colin reminded him. He gestured to the door that Y/N had fled through. “Go on.”
Anthony didn’t need anymore encouragement, he brushed past his brother’s and all but marched through the crowd towards the door.
Y/N had disappeared out onto the fire lit terrace of the house and was leaning on the stone bannister, trying to calm down.
She loved her brother. Truly, she did. She also knew that he would never do anything to ruin her prospects intentionally.
That didn’t, however, stop her from wanting to throttle him.
“Y/N?”
Y/N closed her eyes and inhaled. She could feel Anthony watching her and heard his footsteps approaching closer as he walked up to her.
“Are you alright?”
There was concern - genuine concern - in his voice. Y/N was usually good at keeping her emotions together and not breaking down until she was either with her mother or on her own.
But all it took was Anthony’s concerned question and a gentle hand on her shoulder for her to lose any control she’d had.
Y/N felt the tears drip down her face and turned to Anthony, practically throwing her arms around him and clinging on to him as if he was the only thing keeping her afloat.
Slightly surprised by her sudden change in emotion, it took Anthony a moment to catch-up with the fact his sister was sobbing in to his arms and needed, not Lord Bridgerton, but her big brother.
Anthony wrapped his arms around her and held her as she sobbed, waiting for her to speak.
Y/N eventually managed to get control of her emotions again and she stepped away from Anthony, wiping her eyes as delicately as she could to avoid ruining her make-up.
“Sorry.”
“Never apologise for being human,” Anthony said softly, sitting next to her on a bench.
Y/N sighed. “I’m just... compared to Daphne I am nothing. No one has even looked twice at me this entire season. I’m her sister and nothing more.”
Anthony put a hand on her knee. “Do you truly believe that?” He asked, looking her in the eye.
“I don’t know. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. All I wish is for someone, anyone, to look at me and call on me because they like me. Not because they wanted an easy way to my sister or to you or to Eloise or to anyone who isn’t me!”
“Y/N, you are a wonderful young lady and if those men can’t see it -”
“Then they’re not worth my time, I know,” she said, shooting Anthony an amused smile. “You sound like Benedict.”
“I believe you meant that Benedict sounds like me, he did come second after all,” Anthony quipped.
Y/N smacked her brother on the arm. She shook her head with a smiles she tried not to laugh.
“Come on,” Anthony said, standing up and holding a hand out to her. “Will you do me the honour of a dance, Miss Bridgerton?”
Y/N took his hand and let him pull her to her feet. “Of course, Lord Bridgerton.”
“Excuse me, Miss Bridgerton?” Y/N turned around. A young man, Lord Durrell if she remembered correctly, was standing in front of her looking slightly anxious.
“Yes, Lord Durrell?” Anthony asked, raising his eyebrows in his trademark brooding, older brother way.
“I was wondering if you would do me the honour of a dance this evening?” Durrell asked, looking directly at Y/N.
Y/N smiled and held out the arm that her dance card was on. “Of course, Lord Durrell. After I’ve dance with my brother, of course.”
Lord Durrell smiled and wrote his name on her card. “I look forward to it,” he said, bowing down.
Y/N curtsied slightly in response and watched as he left. She waited a few seconds and then squealed and jumped up and down.
Anthony chuckled, stepping back to avoid being hit by a flailing limb. “See, I told you.”
“No, you didn't, actually,” Y/N said, taking her brother’s arm. “You just repeated what Benedict said and gave me a hug.”
“Which is just as important.”
“Naturally.”
Anthony led Y/N to the dance floor and the two took up their positions.
“I don’t say this often enough,” Y/N said as they danced around the room, “but I’m so glad you’re my brother, Anthony.”
Anthony managed to concel his surprise by twirling Y/N around and using the brief moment she wasn’t looking to show his surprise before hiding it again.
“I’m incredibly lucky to have you in my life,” she continued, oblivious. “I just wanted you to know that.”
Anthony nodded and smiled, twirling her around again.
Later on, however, when he was in his own lodgings away from prying eyes, Anthony looked back on the moment and had to hide his tears in a bottle of whiskey and the mountain of paperwork he had to fulfil.

Sad Ending
Pairing: Damian Wayne x Reader
Warnings: Death, blood, injuries, what have you.
Word Count: 3.3K
Summary: When you're reunited with Damian after year's of being apart, what he doesn't know is that you're there to say goodbye
A/N: This didn't quite turn out how it played out in my head but ig that's partly because I wasn't able to put in the filler parts in between cuz it just didn't fit. In hindsight I could've written a few more k's of words to fit it in but I reached my limit so I hope y'all enjoy it.
Tumblr media
Your eyes were trained onto the figure in the crowd of the gala. The same figure it had been pinned to for a few weeks now and it would continue to be that way for as long as you could.
Damian Wayne was just as beautiful as you remembered him, with sharp eyes and a gorgeous face that had your heart leaping to your throat with a simple look. But you believed that the world wasn’t blessed with eyes gifted enough to see the true beauty of him.
A beauty that only someone who knew him on the inside would.
Everything about him was compelling, gorgeous, familiar. You watched him from afar in longing, wishing that you could go up to him but still you kept your distance, fearing the worst if he knew you were here.
Still, you remained selfish, indulging in your desires to get whatever glimpse of him that you could. You kept him away from you however, knowing that once you got a taste of him, you wouldn't be able to pull back.
But it was tough, you had missed him, so much.
Even so, you were content simply watching him.
You thought you were sneaky, that Damian didn't notice. Of course, you overestimated yourself, or underestimated him. And of course, in the traditional Wayne fashion, you had to expose yourself in the most dramatic and eccentric way possible.
The famous Damian Wayne, son of reputable and not to mention rich Bruce Wayne was attacked at the bank by a bunch of thugs, armed with weapons. The security was taken out swiftly and you imagined that Damian would quickly disarm the man threatening him with a knife.
Instead, he made no move, not even bothering to look remotely interested and just held up his hands like he was bored. The bandit, trigger-happy and confused, pulled back the blade in his hand, to try and stab him.
The crowd gasped and whimpered but were silenced by the man pointing a gun at them. Damian still didn't look phased. Instead, he lazily tilted his head until his eyes locked on your figure, hidden in the shadows. You stopped dead, watching carefully as he stared at you, completely tuning out the man putting his life in peril.
When the thug moved again, to try and stab him and Damian still didn't make any move, you leaped from your place before your mind could even process it, wedging yourself between the both of them and quickly disarming the man.
He fell to the ground, screaming in pain when you knocked the weapon out of his hands and then twisted his arm, hearing the painful crack of his shoulder getting pulled out of its socket.
You glared at the man behind you from the corner of your eye, "You could've gotten hurt."
He shrugged, "I knew you'd step in to protect me."
You scoffed, "You put a lot of faith in someone you haven't seen in years."
He just smirked in the infuriating way you knew he would before moving from behind you as more men came at you. With his help it didn't take long before they were all on the ground, either knocked out or groaning in pain.
"Um, can someone call an ambulance for these guys?"
When you turned, Damian was watching you with a small smile and your heart fluttered in your chest. You should've kept him at an arm's distance, you should have left but in the moment all you wanted to do was be in his arms.
Before you could even help yourself, you crashed into his chest like a falling star, wrapping your arms around his waist and breathing in the familiar scent of him. He held you tightly against him, cradling your head lovingly and gently pressed a kiss to your hairline.
"The league." You whispered to him, remembering why you were here.
Damian shushed you, tightening his arms around you and you were in a safe haven, sighing in relief against him. For a second, all the fear and guilt you had been feeling melted away.
Nothing else mattered as long as you were in his arms.
"We can discuss it back at home, (Y/N)." He muttered, now pulling away so he could lead you away from the police and reporters to his car.
You stared at your fingers intertwined with Damián’s, the engagement ring on your finger glimmering brightly under the sunlight and smiled unconsciously.
"I missed you." You sighed, feeling his fingers tighten around yours. Damian spared you another smile over his shoulder before you caught up with him, leaning into his arm.
"Me too, beloved."
****
"You should get some rest, beloved." Damian muttered, as the others began leaving the room. Your shoulders were still tense but you managed a smile, nodding at him.
"I'll just wash up and join you."
He smiled gently at you, raising your hand and placing a fluttering kiss to your knuckles before leaving. You watched the door as it slid shut and it was only then you let your expressions melt back onto your face.
"You may have the others fooled, but don't think for a second that you've pulled the wall over my eyes." Came from behind you and you froze, eyes widening.
You spun around to see Damian's brother, Tim, inch his way closer to you, figure stiff and guard up.
"Because Damian knows you, I'll assume your identity to be true. Damian was quick to trust you and the others followed suit but something's not adding up. Why are you here?"
His eyes were sharp and his gaze cut right through you. You didn't realize it but your hands were shaking even though you tried hard to maintain your composure.
"I—I told you," You croaked, cringing at your suddenly choked voice, "I was giving up on this life. I'm turning over a new leaf and hiding from the League until that happens."
"Then why come here?"
"I told you—"
"I don't believe you. You know why? Here's the problem with your story." He spoke, coolly, "Take it as a puzzle. The puzzle pieces all fit, but the picture, doesn't make sense. Why come here? When you're on the run from the League of Assassins no less?"
You were floundering, quite pathetically you might add, unable to think when your mind was flurrying so violently. It didn't help that Tim was speaking in such a condescending and strict manner that it intimidated you.
"Here's what I think happened; either you're here to lead the League to Damian, waiting until he's vulnerable and his guard is down to strike." He spat, "Or, you're not running from them at all. You're waiting until they find you."
You hesitantly raised your eyes to meet his, "You can't tell Damian."
"Since you even tried to entertain the fact that I'd hide Damian means that it's the latter. But why?"
"I was hand-chosen by Talia to be Damian's betrothed since birth. They handed me down to one of the main sergeants to be raised as their own. Except, they weren't that happy to have me." You explained, watching as his features smoothened over with realization.
The gears in his head were turning and you could only assume what was going on in his mind. He was a great detective; you could understand why he had Ra's' acknowledgement. But that made you all the more nervous, trembling hands holding onto the material of your shirt tightly.
"I was raised by them to be the perfect daughter, the perfect wife. As the person who was going to continue the 'Al Ghul' bloodline. However, soon after I was already perceived as a failure." You murmured, keeping your voice low in fear of any other Wayne's poking their head around and over-hearing.
"When Damian left the League to stay with Bruce." Tim realized and you nodded.
"Things just got worse after that. I sustained an injury from a mission and couldn't walk for a few months. My step-family was called on a mission for the last few of my recovery. When they returned, they were unaware of my progress but I decided to keep up the act that I was still unable to take care of myself. It was a few nights after that I heard them plotting to kill me since I became a liability and a shame to the family."
The man in front of you chuckled humourlessly, rubbing his tired face with his palm, "What kind of fucked up Cinderella story is this?"
You shared his sentiment, "Only difference to the original is that my prince never came. So, I had to take matters into my own hand."
Tim's eyes widened, "(Y/N), why is the league after you?"
You released a shuddering breath, "Damian can't find out."
He bristled, "Damian would protect you."
"And that's exactly why he can't find out. Damian would die to protect me, and if he tries to step in that's exactly what's going to happen."
"Then why come here? Why bring it to our home?"
You hid your face in your hands, "I didn't mean to. I just wanted to be selfish one last time. I was completely content with just watching him from a distance, I guess I overestimated my abilities. When we met, I was hoping he'd turn me away. I was hoping he'd tell me that he moved on and never wanted to see me again. I was hoping he'd tell me that he didn't feel anything for me."
Your eyes began watering and you felt the urge to hide and cry. Everything was getting messed up. Guilt took over you when you remembered how bright Damian's face was when he saw you, how right his hand felt in yours. How could you do this to him?
"Damian would want to know." Tim told you softly, placing a gentle hand on your shoulder but your body stiffened up. He couldn't find out. He just couldn't.
"Are you really willing to put the life of your brother at risk for a girl you just met today?"
"You seem awfully keen to die." He commented, and you felt slight grief at his words. Of course, you didn't want to die. Not now, not when you were finally back in Damian's arms. Not ever.
You sniffled, biting your lip, "Damian shouldn't have to pay for my sins. I do."
His hand tightened on your shoulder and you found comfort in the warmth you could feel through your clothes, "I'll keep your secret."
Sighing in relief, you hugged him tightly, "Thank you."
****
When Damian woke up, his eyes flickered between the lamp beside him on the nightstand and then to the window. It was still dark outside, he assumed that he was woken up because of his usual schedule. It wasn't like him to miss patrol but the others suggested that he take a day off to rest.
He turned his neck to see that you weren't in bed beside him and wondered if last night had been a dream. It wouldn't have been the first time that he dreamt of you being by his side. But he remembered how much his heart pounded, he remembered feeling shocks all over his skin when he touched you.
And then he noticed the way the other side of the bed was mussed up, like someone had been sleeping there and he absently reached for that side, running his fingers up and down the fabric like he would be able to feel some residual warmth from your body.
Instead, the pads of his fingers came into contact with something coarse. His brows furrowed and he grabbed it between his fingers, realizing it was a folded piece of paper. Squinting and sitting up, he got a better look at it, recognizing his name scrawled in your handwriting.
'Damian.
I'm sorry that you'll have to find out this way but the League found my location a little earlier than expected. I'm going into hiding tonight. It's likely we'll never see each other again. I'm sorry that I didn't tell you this in person. Even though I know this is a missed opportunity for it and I should have summoned up the courage to say goodbye, I just couldn't stand the thought. And I couldn't watch myself break your heart. Please forgive me for this. I never wanted our lives to turn out this way, but I can't keep running away from reality and towards my desires anymore. You deserve so much more than I could ever even hope to offer you. And I know this is another mistake I'm making, but I left the ring you gave me. Thank you for giving it to me, but I think it belongs to someone else.
I love you, and I'm sorry.
-(Y/N)'
His heart rate picked up, skimming over the words a few more times. This had to be some sort of trick, he tried to decipher your words, tried to see if there were any clues, any codes but his heart clenched in his chest when he realized there was none. He pulled back the covers in a frantic motion and sure enough, the engagement ring you were given on your 18th was glimmering, abandoned by you.
Blood hammered through his ears and he threw off the covers, getting to his feet and sprinting through the doors. His feet pounded against the hardwood floors and then the metal floors of the Batcave.
"Damian? What're you doing up?" Dick asked, raising a brow as Damian marched his way down to the Bat Computer before pushing Tim out of the way and pulling up the Manor security cameras. You had managed to avoid all of them. Of course.
"We have to find (Y/N)." He said, not turning his eyes off the screen.
"(Y/N)? Wasn't she in bed with you?"
"If she was in my bed then I wouldn't be down here trying to find her, now would I?!" He bit back and then held out the note for Dick to read. Once he got through it, Dick squeezed his younger brother's shoulder as a sign of comfort.
"Don't worry, Little D, we'll find her."
"Damian, she said she doesn't want to be found. Don't you think you should listen to her and trust that she knows what's best?" Tim asked from behind him, hoping to get his brother to relax but Damian's back tensed up before he turned to his brother.
"You know something."
Tim froze, "What?"
But before he could even think of a cover story, Damian was grasping him by his collar, holding him to eye level to look the devil's grandson in the eye, "What are you not telling me, Drake?"
Realizing he's been caught, Tim pushed his hands off him, turning so that his back was facing him, "Doesn't matter. (Y/N) said she didn't want you to find out and I promised her."
He felt a little helpless watching Tim's back facing him. He didn't feel like himself. Every second that Damian spent away from you, when he knew that you could be in trouble had every part of him, every fibre of his being, every cell in his body ache with a pain he had never felt before.
Never in his life would he have thought that he would be brought to his knees by someone. But you held all the power over him and Damian would gladly kneel before you, his queen. And now he couldn't stand being away from you, he couldn't bear the ache in his nerves when he couldn't feel your skin under his.
"Tim." The silence in the cave was deafening as everyone looked between the two youngest brothers, "Please."
It was then Tim began doubting his choice. He bit his lip uncertainly, avoiding Damian's gaze and he looked to his feet, "She said she didn't want you to find out."
"Tell me."
And he did.
****
Your fingers were curled tightly around the handle of your sword, breaths coming out in sharp labours as you tried to deflect each of their offenses. There were too many of them, too many for you to take and even though you were able to dodge and counter most of their attacks, there could still hit you.
You were bloodied and shaking but you still refused to give up without a fight. They'd regret ever underestimating you, ever thinking that you were nothing more than a way to continue the Al Guhl bloodline. You were much more than that and they'd only see a fraction of it tonight.
Your resolved hardened in your veins as you sliced through another soldier, feeling more determined to get through this fight as the victor. Even though deep down you knew that it wouldn't change the end of your life, they'd never stop trying to hunt you down. But at least this way you'd put up a fight.
It was getting harder and harder to keep up the momentum, your speed and agility was retarding fast and decelerating with each hit you took. The wounds and cuts etched into your skin burned as you moved, blood dripping down your arms and legs.
Your body began going rigid, shocking in its movements momentarily as you kept flipping and manoeuvring yourself to doge the hits. That came to be a fatal mistake when your body locks up when you blocked one of the assassins, swords clashing together in the familiar sound of metal on metal.
Another came at you and your joints were locked in place, unable to move. Your mind blanked out and before you could slide the sword out to counter the other you heard someone scream your name.
You felt arms wrap tightly around your middle.
You saw green eyes.
And then you felt piercing pain in through your chest.
Damian heard you gasp in his ear and his grunt of pain echoed through your head as the katana went through him. Tears immediately clouded your vision when you felt fire burn across your middle, the blade of the sword buried into you as a painful reminder.
"Damian." You sobbed when you felt his knees buckle against yours. His body wanted to collapse, he couldn't stay standing much longer but you knew that if either of you moved, in an unsynced motion from each other, it could cause more pain to the other.
It was getting harder to breathe. You were choking on your own blood as the metallic taste filled your mouth. The sword had gone through Damian's lower abdomen but it had gone straight through your chest.
Your fingers dug into the back of his shirt, crying out into his neck, "Why did you come here?! Why didn't you stay away?"
With trembling fingers, he raised your chin so that your eyes would meet his. He was crying, the scorching pain forcing out more tears. Even then he wrenched a smile on his face.
"There's no one else in the entire universe I'd want by my side more than you. The ring is yours, my love."
Like as if on que, both your bodies crumbled towards the ground. The sword moved painfully through you and a garbled shriek left your mouth, muffled by the blood crawling up your throat.
Your head fell to Damian's chest and you heard the sound of his faint heartbeat, the sound getting farther and farther away as minutes passed. His arms were still wrapped around your waist in a lover's grasp, bodies pinned together until eventually everything went black.
Your prince came back for you this time.
What a shame the story had a sad ending.

parties ruined by wei wuxian: ranked
(spoilers ahead!)
1. lantern ceremony (that counts as a party)
what was damaged:
- nie huaisang’s expensive lantern - jin zixuan’s pretty face - everybody’s mood
pros:
- ruined lantern was kind of lan wangji’s fault - ruined pretty face was kind of jin zixuan’s fault - resulted into a called off engagement (which was a good decision in the moment) - the party itself actually wasn’t ruined, the fight happened after it ended
cons:
- jiang yanli was sad - mianmian was disappointed - the whole thing with wei wuxian getting mad at jin zixuan and attacking him and jiang yanli and mianmian getting in between them kind of became a pattern that culminated into a very unfortunate event, but we don’t have to worry about that right now
on a scale from an actually good party to a double murder:
0/10 that was an actually good party!
and the fact that it got slightly ruined by the end isn’t even really wei wuxian’s fault! good job!
2. we shot down the sun banquet
what was damaged:
- lan wangji’s mood - jin guangshan’s smugness - jiang cheng’s self-esteem
pros:
- actually it’s impossible to ruin a party for lan wangji because being at a party is already a ruined party for him - wei wuxian tried really hard not to ruin that party by drinking outside alone like an emo he is - jiang yanli got to voice her opinion on her own life, which isn’t something that happened a lot - fuck you, jin guangshan
cons:
- why do you have to be so rude to lan wangji, wei wuxian, please (i know why, but still) - everyone’s idea of wei wuxian being an arrogant, cocky boy who didn’t respect his sect leader was being solidified (that definitely wasn’t going to backfire later)
on a scale from an actually good party to a double murder:
2/10 jin guangshan got fucked, so that’s a good enough party for me
also most of the people there were feeling pretty uncomfortable even without wei wuxian interfering, so does it really count
3. wen ning is back party
what was damaged:
- wei wuxian’s health - wen qing’s peace
pros:
- wen qing actually noticed wei wuxian’s problem with alcohol - for a moment it seemed like wei wuxian was too drunk to be depressed
cons:
- wei wuxian could never be too drunk to be depressed - wei wuxian was probably depressed - and slowly killing his health - and wen qing knew she couldn’t do much about it - but she was determined to try her best to help wei wuxian even if it killed her (oops)
on a scale from an actually good party to a double murder:
3/10 it’s that type of a party that’s pretty nice in general, but then later you’re the only sober person left, and your friend that got too drunk starts crying and talking about all the terrible things happening in their life, but you can’t really do much about it, so you just hope that they will fall asleep soon enough and you’ll get a chance to finish cleaning in peace
so like… just a normal party
4. nie huaisang’s banquet
what was damaged:
- wei wuxian’s reputation - nie huaisang’s plans for the evening
pros:
- it prompted both jiang yanli and jiang cheng to try to talk with wei wuxian about whatever the hell was going on with him
cons:
- he’s a stubborn idiot so he kind of lied to their faces instead of talking about his problems - old sect leaders got opportunity to gossip about him - jin zixun got opportunity to be an asshole - nie huaisang didn’t get opportunity to hang out with his friend
on a scale from an actually good party to a double murder:
4/10 that was lame as hell but not a total disaster
on nie huaisang’s scale tho it’s probably at least 8/10
5. post phoenix mountain hunt banquet
what was damaged:
- jin zixun’s smugness - a table - jiang cheng’s self-esteem (again) - everybody’s mood (again) - jin sect’s reputation (if only)
pros:
- jin sect was rightfully called out on their bullshit - everyone forgot the terrible time they were having before wei wuxian arrived and only remembered the terrible time they started having after he arrived - lan wangji got to enjoy his 10 seconds of thirst before everything went to shit
cons:
- most of the people there didn’t really notice jin sect being rightfully called out - they did notice wei wuxian threatening to murder people and black smoke coming from his flute - wei wuxian ruining jin guangyao’s parties kind of became a pattern and that wasn’t making jin guangyao any happier or less murderous
on a scale from an actually good party to a double murder:
6/10 a disaster for sure, but at least no one died, right?
6. discussion conference at jinlin tai
what was damaged:
- qin su (in more ways than one) - jin guangyao’s peace - jin ling’s psyche - wei wuxian himself
pros:
- what happened to qin su can’t really be blamed on wei wuxian, but really we will never know - the truth came out - wei wuxian and lan wangji got to have an extremely romantic moment to everyone’s annoyance
cons:
- qin su fucking died - the truth only came out to wei wuxian and lan wangji - wei wuxian got stabbed by his own nephew, who thought that he was responsible for his parents’ death - jin ling was having a really bad time - jin guangyao basically didn’t have anything to lose anymore (that definitely wasn’t going to backfire later) - the whole cultivation world found out wei wuxian was back and they all wanted him to be dead again
on a scale from an actually good party to a double murder:
8/10 only one murder happened! and not even because of wei wuxian (probably). but now someone had to pay for jin ling’s therapy
at least everything was going more or less accordingly to nie huaisang’s plan (let’s pretend he had one)
7. jin ling’s one-month celebration
what was damaged:
- jin zixuan - jin zixun - lan sect juniors - many sects' disciples - wei wuxian’s already not so bright future - wen ning’s already not so bright future
pros:
- technically didn’t ruin that party, as he didn’t even get to that party - didn't actually commit (some of) the murders himself, was set up
cons:
- nobody cared - many people died - his sister’s husband died - everything was kind of falling apart - that was the bad place
on a scale from an actually good party to a double murder:
10/10 a double murder!
with an added bonus of a bunch of other murders. what fun!
bonus!
8. afterparty in nightless city
what was damaged:
- many cultivators - jiang yanli - wei wuxian - jiang cheng (in more ways than one) - lan wangji (in more ways than one)
pros:
- not all of the cultivators there were hurt or killed by wei wuxian (good!) - most of the people there were happy that wei wuxian died (good?..)
cons:
- people fucking died - some of the people there were extremely not happy that wei wuxian died - jiang cheng was left alone with a child on his hands - lan wangji was left alone with a child on his hands - you would think having so much in common after that they would at least have something to talk about - wrong, they haven’t talked to each other in 16 years
on a scale from an actually good party to a double murder:
100/10 when the only word that you can describe your party with is a “massacre”, that’s a bad sign

Study Help - Tim Drake x Reader - Part Two
Tumblr media
Warning - Adult Content Ahead -NSFW
Part One
Requested by @sannevd5 - Can there be a Study Help Tim Drake x Reader part 2 where they get revenge on Damian
***
You glanced over at Tim who was fast asleep in the passenger seat. Your hands gripped the steering wheel and you focused on the road. You widened your eyes to keep them open. Exhaustion weighed on you. Finally, the manor came into view. “We’re here,” you whispered, nudging Tim with your elbow.
Tim jerked awake. “What? Is it the baby?” He glanced around in a panic, wiping the drool off his chin. You snorted and peeked back at the sleeping baby in the backseat.
“He’s fine, Timmy. Sleeping like his daddy.” You laughed. Baby Jack was fast asleep, probably tired from crying the night away last night.
“Are you okay?” Tim said, touching your arm. He had that protective look on his face again.
“I’m fine.” You smiled at him and opened your window to type in the code once you pulled up to the gate. “You were the one who was up with Jack all night.”
Tim rubbed his eyes. “I was up anyway though, and you didn’t actually sleep, you were with me the whole time.”
You shrugged, pulling up the driveway once the gate opened. “Still, I’m fine, Tim.” Tim squeezed your hand tightly. You wondered if he would ever stop being overprotective of you. Apparently, being kidnapped by Ra’s al Ghul for two months during your pregnancy was enough to keep Tim on edge permanently. You parked the car.
Tim rushed out of the car and ran to your side to open the door. You smiled, rolling your eyes. “What? It’s the least I could do since you drove,” Tim said. You opened the back door to gather up Jack while Tim grabbed the bags.
“Master Tim, Miss (Y/N), welcome.” Alfred opened the front door.
“Hello, Alfred.” You hurried up the stairs and hugged him with one arm. Jack was smashed between you, but he didn’t even stir.
Alfred laughed, hugging you back before pulling away to get a good look at Jack. “Well, look at Master Jack. He’s grown so much.”
“Well, it’s been one month,” you said, handing Jack over to Alfred. “He was up all night like he is every night, so he’s sleeping like a log.”
Tim struggled with the bags. You turned to help him. “Oh, so it looks like Master Jack is a night owl like the rest of the family.” Alfred beamed, looking very much like a proud grandfather.
“Unfortunately, he got that from Tim.” You and Tim headed inside.
“Har, har.” Tim kissed your cheek. “I’ll run our bags to our room.” You and Tim were staying for the weekend at Bruce’s insistence.
“Where’s everyone?” You closed the door once Alfred was in. He rocked Jack, who was kicking one foot in his sleep.
Alfred hummed. “Master Bruce is downstairs.” You smiled, knowing Alfred meant he was in the Batcave. “Master Damian and his friend are in his room.”
You froze. “His friend?” You smirked. “Is this the one who we think they are dating, but Damian keeps denying it?”
“Yes.” Alfred shook his head. He wrinkled his nose and shifted Jack in his arms. “It feels like Master Jack needs a changing.”
“Oh, I’ll do it.” You took Jack back, realizing Tim took the diaper bag upstairs with him. “I’ll be back, Alfred.” You headed up the stairs. Outside of Damian’s door, you paused. You swore you heard the moans inside. Glee filled you. Was this the time? Would you finally get your revenge?
You hurried to the bedroom. Tim looked up as you entered, confused by the grin on your face. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing’s wrong.” You handed Jack to Tim. “Change him for me and meet me in Damian’s room.”
“Why?” Tim frowned. “(Y/N), are you planning something?”
“Timmy, there comes a time where opportunity rings and we have to answer.” You kissed his lips passionately before pulling away.
“(Y/N).” Tim gasped, glancing down at Jack who woke up fussing.
You grinned at him. “Just meet me there in a few minutes.” You left the room and hurried back down to Damian’s room. The moans were still there, louder and more intense than before. You smirked, knocking on the door. “Damian, I just wanted to say hi.”
You opened the door without warning. A laugh threatened to escape you, but you swallowed it to play this straight. Damian and his friend flipped around under the covers in a similar way Tim always did when Damian interrupted you. The shoe really was on the other foot.
“Oh, you must be Damian’s friend. I heard so much about you.” You came over to stand next to the bed. The friend’s face was flushed and they hid their face under the covers. “A little shy? That’s okay. I’m Damian’s sister-in-law.” You grinned at Damian who was death glaring at you. “(Y/N) (Y/L/N) Drake.”
“We were busy.” Damian snarled.
“Were you?” You blinked innocently, but you could see Damian’s eyes flash. He didn’t buy it and knew exactly what you were doing.
Tim wandered inside, eyes widening when he took in Damian and his friend in the bed with you standing beside him. Jack gurgled in his arms.  “(Y/N), did you just...”
“Hi baby.” You took Jack from Tim, ignoring Tim’s protest. Kissing the top of Jack’s head, you glanced between Damian and his friend. “You two should be careful, having fun has consequences.” A dangerous smirk came to your lips. “You might get kidnapped by Ra’s or...” You glanced down at Jack.
Damian lunged for you, but Tim stepped in front of you and quickly ushered you out of the room. “Okay, enough now. It was nice meeting you,” Tim said, blushing redder than his Red Robin suit. He pulled you back to his old bedroom. “What the hell was that about, (Y/N)?”
You laughed, sitting down on the bed with Jack nuzzling against your chest. “Revenge is sweet, Timmy. So sweet.”
“Revenge? What kind of revenge involves walking in on Damian while he and his friend...” Tim choked, traumatized.
“Oh stop it. You didn’t see anything.” You closed your eyes and rested your head against the headboard. “He interrupted us so many times. Using Bruce, Dick, Steph, even Jason to ruin our moments. It was only fair I would do it to him.”
Tim took a breath. You opened your eyes to see him struggling not to laugh. “Still, now he’s probably going to stab you.”
You smiled. “He wouldn’t dare with you around.” Tim’s shoulders straightened as you stoked his ego. He came around the bed and crawled in next to you. You leaned into him, ignoring Jack’s drool soaking into your shirt.
Your eyes grew heavy. “Take a nap. You need your rest,” Tim whispered in your ear. His arm cradled yours to support Jack as you fell fast asleep.
***
“Look how much he’s grown,” Bruce said. You handed Jack off to him before taking a seat at the dining room table.
“I know. Sometimes it’s like he grows an inch every day.” You smiled when Tim came over to pour your drink. Alfred came out of the kitchen with dinner.
Bruce rocked Jack. Jack gurgled at him, waving his arm around wildly. Damian stalked into the room. His glare darker than death. You just smiled sweetly at him.
“Master Damian, where is your friend? Are they not joining us?” Alfred asked.
“No, they went home. They couldn’t face this monstrosity again.” He pointed at you.
Tim tensed, setting down the pitcher and leaning in front of you. You wanted to laugh, but you held it in. It would just set Damian off and Tim would have to defend you.
“Damian,” Bruce snapped sharply, narrowing his eyes at his son. “That is uncalled for.”
“Uncalled for?!” Damian threw his arms up in the air. “That harlot ruined...” He stopped, blushing slightly when he realized what he was about to admit. A snicker escaped you. Damian’s eyes flashed and he lunged for you. Tim blocked him, pushing him back.
“Knock it off, Damian. It’s not like you haven’t done it to us.” Tim’s shoulders straightened into a defensive pose. “And that’s my wife you’re talking about. Don’t ever call her that again.”
You got to your feet to take Jack back from Bruce when he started to fuss at the raised voices. “I think someone’s hungry. I’ll go feed him. You can start dinner without me,” you said calmly and quickly leaving the room. Tim was right behind you.
Entering the kitchen, you fed Jack, sitting at one of the stools by the counter. Tim hovered in full overprotective mode. “I told you he would explode like that.”
“Of course, he doesn’t like it when others get revenge on him,” you said, smiling down at Jack as he ate. “He’s always been entitled.”
Tim hummed in agreement. He sat on the stool next to you. A soft chuckle escaped his lips. “Can you believe he almost admitted to having sex in front of Bruce and Alfred?”
“I know.” You laughed. “I almost lost it there, but I knew he would just go off the deep end.”
Alfred came into the kitchen with two full plates. “I figured you two should eat while it’s hot. Besides, I think some distance would be good.” He set them on the counter.
“I’m sorry for causing trouble, Alfred.” You looked at him with genuine apology.
“It is alright, Miss (Y/N). After all, he did ask for it.” Alfred smiled somewhat mischievously before leaving.
“I think you are Alfred’s favorite.” Tim took a bite of his food first. He moaned before feeding you a bite.
The food melted in your mouth. “Maybe or he’s just happy we stopped Damian from having unprotected sex.”
Tim almost spit out his food. “How did you know that?”
“Please. There’s a reason they went really red when I mentioned consequences.” You ate with your free hand since Tim was still in a state of shock. “It’s not like anyone gave him the sex talk. I mean you knew nothing.”
Tim blushed. “True.” He cleared his throat. “But you knew.”
“Also true, but that doesn’t mean that Damian’s friend knows.” You put Jack to your shoulder to burp him. He spit up a little. You wrinkled your nose when you felt it slide down your back. “Tim, if you could grab a napkin please.”
Tim blinked. “Oh.” He grabbed a napkin and stood to clean up your back as Jack started to fuss. You bounced him, calming him down. Tim sat back down and went back to eating.
“You know, there is another way we could add to our revenge.” You smirked and kissed Jack’s head. “Can we call Dick after dinner?”
Tim’s jaw dropped. “Now that’s too mean.” Tim shook his head. “We couldn’t. Damian would really stab you after that.”
You shrugged. “He can try.” You got to your feet to walk Jack around the kitchen so he would fall back to sleep. “Besides, this is a good thing. We don’t need Damian to get into the kind of trouble we got into.”
“The trouble you’re currently holding?” Tim took the last bite of his food. He got up and offered to take Jack from you. “Go back to eating, sweetheart.”
You smiled, kissing Tim’s cheek. “I love you.” Jack went over to his father calmly and you sat down to eat your cool food. You watched Tim walk around with his son. Your heart melted into a pile of goo and you couldn’t imagine loving them both more.

“What are you doing up?” Bruce asked, poking his head into the den. You flinched in surprise, causing Jack to start screaming again.
“Oh, my son’s colic triggered again.” You got up to walk him around the room with your eyes closed. Bruce’s presence stayed by the door as you walked the path you memorized hours before.
“Tim should be up in a few minutes.” Bruce’s warm, strong hand rested on your shoulder, stopping you. “Go to bed, I’ll take care of Jack.”
Your eyes snapped open and you spun to look at Bruce in compete shock. “What? You’ll take care of Jack?”
Bruce chuckled. “I do know how to take care of a baby. Besides, at this point, I wouldn’t be able to sleep worrying about you walking around with your eyes closed.”
“I guess I am pretty tired.” You handed Jack over, but you couldn’t leave the room. “Am I a bad parent? I can’t leave him.”
“No, you’re not, but it’s okay to accept help once and a while. He’ll be safe with me and I promise if I need anything, I’ll get Alfred.” Bruce pushed you toward the door where Tim stood watching the exchange with the same surprise you had moments before. “Tim, take her to bed before she falls down.”
You stared back at Jack as Tim wrapped an arm around your waist to pull you out of the room. “He’ll be fine. Come on,” Tim whispered in your ear.
“Okay, okay.” Tears filled your eyes. “I’m a bad parent, aren’t I?”
“No, you’re not.” Tim squeezed your hip. “But you need a break. We both need a break.” Tim kissed your cheek. You stumbled on the stairs, but Tim caught you and scooped you up into his arms. “Woah, there.” Your head fell limply on Tim’s shoulder.
“Sorry.” You mumbled, opening your eyes to see Damian watching you and Tim from the bottom of the stairs. His expression bewildered and confused. “Hi, Damian. How was patrol?”
Tim tensed, turning around to face Damian himself. You had to roll your head to keep him in your eyesight. “TT.” He frowned at you and Tim.
“Sorry about embarrassing your friend, Damian, but it was nice for the shoe to be on the other foot for once,” you mumbled.
“Hush.” Tim bounced you slightly in his arms. “Don’t piss him off now.”
“He won’t get mad. I apologized.” You waved at Damian, focusing on Tim. “Can we go back to Jack now? I’m a bad parent for leaving him.”
Tim sighed. “No, we’re going to bed, sweetheart. You’re not thinking straight.” Tim turned to head up the stairs with you. Damian watched the two of you go with a blank expression.
You let your head rest on Tim’s shoulder as he bumped the bedroom door open with his hip. He laid you down on the bed. You melted into it. “Tim, why can’t we have fun anymore?”
“We have fun.” Tim kissed your forehead. You sighed, hearing him pull away to move around the room.
“No, we don’t. We just sleep all the time and take care of Jack.” You kept your eyes closed. Your body limp as Tim crawled into bed next to you and pulled you into his arms.
Tim kissed the corner of your mouth. “We will someday. This is just one of the hard parts, but that’s why we came to the manor, so we can get some help.”
You opened your eyes to look at him. “Wait, I thought Bruce invited us over?”
“He did after I asked for help.” Tim tightened his arms around you. “I’m worried about you. You’re a great mother and you give it your all, but you’re so tired.” He kissed your nose. “We need some rest.”
“You always need rest,” you said, closing your eyes and sighing in relief. Tim was right, you weren’t a failure as a parent. You just needed help and a break.
Tim chuckled. “True. Good night, sweetheart.”
You hummed, feeling yourself slipping into the nothingness of sleep. “Love you.”
“I love you too.” You almost didn’t hear him as you let yourself relax for the first time in a long time.
***
Sun blinded you, pulling you from the deep, dreamless sleep. You opened your eyes to find yourself still in Tim’s old bedroom at the manor. Tim was spooned into your back. You smiled when you felt a certain part of him poking you from behind.
“Tim.” You turned in his arms to face him. He opened his eyes, yawning.
“Morning, beautiful.” He kissed your lips. You slid your hand down his chest and under the waistband of his boxers. Tim jumped, blushing. “What?”
“You really can’t tell. You were poking me.” A smirk pulled at your lips when Tim moaned at your touch.
“Well, I was having a good dream.” Tim closed his eyes, shivering. “You and I were at that hotel in Vegas, and you were in that outfit with the littlest...”
Cutting him off with a kiss, your thumb circled his tip and made him tremble. “Let me take care of you,” you whispered softly.
“I should be taking care of you.” Tim cleared his throat. “We haven’t since Jack was born.” Tim’s hand slipped under your shirt, but you grabbed his wrist with your free hand.
“I’m not ready for that.” You looked him in the eye. “Not all the way.”
Tim leaned forward to kiss your lips, rubbing his foot against yours. “How about we just touch? Like you’re doing to me now.” You traced a vein on his cock. Tim shivered. His hand flexed against your bare stomach. Your face burned, thinking of the baby weight you still carried.
“Fine. Only touch.” You leaned over to bury your face into his neck. Your hand let go of Tim’s wrist to allowed his hand to find his way up your chest. His other hand played with the waistband of your pajamas, tugging them down.
His long, strong fingers found your clit. You hissed and tightened your hand around Tim. Tim choked. “Careful, sweetheart.”
“It’s okay. I won’t break your T-Rex.” You giggled breathlessly. Tim’s fingers were rough with calluses, the friction making your body tense, skin tingle. You stroked his cock with just your fingertips.
Tim panted. You gripped him and slid your hand up and down the length of him. Tim’s fingers stopped playing with you. “You’re distracting me.”
“Right.” You kissed his jawline, working him harder than before. Tim tensed. “Are you close, sweetheart?”
“I am.” Tim choked, looking you in the eye.
“Then let go.” You smiled at him sweetly and sealed a kiss to his lips. Tim shivered and spilled into your hand. Most of the mess was caught inside his boxers. You pulled your hand out, wiping your hand on his boxers.
Tim closed his eyes, panting against your lips as you kissed the corner of his mouth. His fingers circled your clit again. You gasped. “Now I take care of you.” Tim whispered, one hand went under your shirt again and cupped your breast.
You relaxed. Your skin tingled again, feeling the flutter of your heart as Tim squeezed your breast gently. His lips tickled your skin, kissing down your neck. “It’s only fair that I leave you a mess too.”
You wrinkled your nose, giggling as your body tensed. One of Tim’s thin fingers entered you. You jumped in surprise. “Oh.” Your hand rested on his wrist. “Careful.”
“I’m careful.” Tim hummed. “Tell me if you want me to stop.”
“It’s okay.” You closed your eyes, taking a slow breath. “I love you.”
“I love you too. More than anything.” Tim’s head went under your shirt to kiss his way up your stomach. You rested your hands on his shoulders.
You felt that familiar tension building up inside of you. Your nails dug into Tim’s shoulders. Tim groaned against your stomach. “Close, huh?”
“Yeah.” You lost your breath. Tim’s finger curled inside of you and you were suddenly among the stars. “Wow.”
A knock suddenly came from the door. Tim jerked away from you, quickly pulling the blankets up and around the two of you. “Yes?” he asked. You giggled, panting as you came down from the high. You smirked when you felt Tim’s hand was still on your breast.
Damian entered with Jack gurgling in his arms. He looked slightly disappointed. “Take care of your offspring.” He handed Jack to you.
“Hi Jackie.” You showered his little face with kisses. He touched your cheek with his tiny, perfect hand, enjoying the attention.
“How did you get him?” Tim asked. Damian’s eyes went to your chest and Tim quickly pull his hand away. A blush dusted his cheeks.
“Pennyworth asked me to watch him.” He crossed his arms. “You invited Grayson over?”
Tim looked at you. “Yes, I did.” You smiled at Damian sweetly. “And if we call a truce, I won’t tell him to give you the sex talk.”
Damian’s eyes widened slightly. “TT.” He glared at you. “What kind of a truce?”
“Well, if you quit interrupting us, we won’t interrupt you.” You handed Jack to Tim, looking Damian the eye.
Damian hummed. He rubbed his chin, biting his lip. “Fine, I agree.” He spun on his heel. “But if Grayson tries to talk to me, I will break this truce.”
“Fair.” You smiled, relaxing against the pillows. Damian closed the door securely behind him. Tim stared at you with his jaw dropped. You took Jack back from him when he started to whine. “What?” You reached up to close his jaw.
“Did you just get Damian to promise not to bother us? He just came in here disappointed that he didn’t catch us in the act.” Tim pointed at the door, eyes wild.
“Well, it’s only fair. Damian was always about revenge.” You smiled at Jack, cooing at him in a soft voice. “But now we’ll be good and maybe we can give Jack siblings.”
The blood drained out of Tim’s face. “More kids? When did you decide that?”
You snorted, patting Tim’s cheek with your free hand. “Not now, Timmy. Later, when Jack’s like four or something.”
Tim glanced at Jack. A dopey smile grew onto his lips. “I suppose that’s fine. I mean if we can handle Jack, we can handle another one.”
You leaned over to kiss his cheek. “That’s what I was thinking.” Tim turned to catch your lips with his. Jack fell asleep in your arms and you couldn’t be happier.

LAS NEVADAS: EPISODE THREE
---
Quackity rides a white horse and overlooks the construction site where the plans for Las Nevadas have been laid out. There is a montage that shows Quackity in New L’manburg, then hunting down Techno in the Final Control Room.
Techno strikes him down and Quackity wakes up at Spawn with a bloody scar over one eye.
There is a rapid timelapse showing the buildings of Las Nevadas getting built one by one. Slot machine sound effects play in the background, then Quackity’s voice:
“Let’s start this hit list. Who’s on the hit list? Dream and Technoblade. If we go after Dream first, we’ll have government, and then Techno will go after us. So let’s just -- let’s just attack the problem from the goddamn root.”
Another rapid-cut montage of Quackity walking down the path to the prison, then a full view of Pandora’s Vault...
---
- Quackity is in the cell with Dream, telling him he’ll show him which weapon he’ll use to torture him this time. He puts an axe up on the wall. While Quackity is talking, Dream suddenly runs up to try and take the axe. Quackity hits him back and grabs it
- Dream cowers in the corner of the cell, pleading, while Quackity shouts at him
Quackity: “You do that again, and it’s over for you. Don’t fucking ever do that again. You understand?”
Dream: “Yes.”
Quackity: “Don’t ever reach for any of my fucking weapons ever again. Okay?”
Dream: “Yes, sir.”
- Quackity says these visits have gotten tiresome, and he’s busy. The Netherite barrier wall is put up between them and the lava. Dream tells him he doesn’t have to visit anymore.
Quackity: “No, I do, I do. This is what you don’t understand, Dream. This is what you don’t understand, okay? I do, I do have to come, every single day, so I can remind you, every bad shit you’ve ever done to me, to any other person on the server -- I have to come every day to remind you, otherwise I think you’ll end up forgetting, and I don’t think I want you to forget.”
Dream: “Forget -- I won’t forget -- I promise you I won’t forget!”
- Quackity asks him when was the last time he saw Technoblade. Dream says it was a little bit before he was put in the prison.
- Quackity asks what their relationship is like, and Dream describes Techno as one of his only allies. Quackity throws Dream a book and quill and tells him to get writing: a note to Technoblade to get him to visit the prison
- If he writes the note and doesn’t ask any questions, then he’ll give Dream a week’s break from the torture. Dream thinks he’s lying and refuses to write the note
- Dream suggests Sapnap instead and Quackity snaps.
Quackity: “If you don’t do that shit, then we’re gonna have issues, alright? You know what? I’m kinda sick and tired of these fucking visits now that I think about it. I’m actually sick and tired! I don’t like ‘em anymore! They’re boring, they really don’t serve any much more purpose, I don’t like ‘em anymore Dream. So this is what we’re gonna do. You either write that goddamn note, or I will kill you. I am not joking, I will fucking kill you, I don’t care anymore, I don’t --”
“What is it, the book? Are you threatening me with the fucking revival book, Dream? Guess what, Dream? I don’t CARE anymore about the book! I don’t give a crap about the fucking book anymore! You understand me? I don’t give a shit! I’ve lost interest in that thing! At this point, the only reason I come and torture you so much, every single day, is merely as a reminder, because at the end of the day, no matter how many times I fucking torture you, that will never amount the amount of fucking evil you’ve done to this entire server and everyone in it--”
Dream: “It’s -- it’s ‘cause you LIKE IT! You LIKE torturing me!”
Quackity: “You know what? You know what? I might, I might. I don’t give a shit, I don’t care what it is, what the reason is, if you don’t write that goddamn note -- I’m going to kill you, Dream. I am going to kill you.”
- Dream says Sam wouldn’t let Quackity kill him, but Quackity points out that Sam is beyond the lava wall, and he can deal with Sam later if need be. Dream shouts that he wouldn’t.
- Quackity starts swinging the axe around, then starts stabbing Dream while Dream begs for him to stop. Dream agrees to write it.
Quackity tells him what to write:
“Dear Technoblade...”
-
Chapter One.
-
There’s a village at night. It’s raining.
Easy job.
Foolish is there.
No innocents.
Big reward.
Easy money.
He draws his bow.
Peaceful heist.
He shoots the arrow into the village.
The village is ablaze and full of lava, people are screaming. Foolish rides off on a horse.
-
THE PURSUIT OF PEACE
-
- A bell rings. It’s Las Nevadas, and Quackity coughs, eating, while Sam comes through the door and sits down in front of him. Quackity asks where Sam found the villager running the restaurant. Sam says he just showed up, and Quackity scolds him for hiring someone random
- Quackity hands him a book with potential roles for candidates, people to join Las Nevadas. Sam says he thought he was going to hire George, Sapnap and Karl. They both pause before Sam says he was kidding
- Quackity asks Sam to tell him about Foolish. Sam has read that Foolish isn’t a good person. Quackity scoffs, but Sam says the two of them haven’t done anything inherently bad, and everything they do is just for justice
Quackity: (laughing) “Yeah, ‘justice.’”
- Foolish used to kill a lot of people. A job gone wrong written about in old history texts. Quackity still thinks he’d be a great option.
- In the future, who’s going to protect them? Sam knows what happened with Quackity and Techno, and they need some force in their team. Sam is still skeptical
---
- Quackity greets Foolish at the summer home entrance, asking how he’s holding up after the Banquet, the places he’s affiliated with
- Foolish is done with contract work for Kinoko Kingdom. Quackity asks him if he’d like to join Las Nevadas. Foolish is honored, but he’s happy at his summer home. As Quackity presses him on it, Foolish keeps insisting
Quackity: “I know who you are, if that makes a little more sense...I’ve done my research, Foolish, I have my connections. I know what type of person you are, if you get what I mean...”
- Foolish tells him this peaceful life has worked
Foolish: “I believed peace could be found through the sword, you know? Fighting. That doesn’t work, okay. That just leads to fear, to power, to hatred, resentment, all of that, okay, it’s a mess. The only thing I did was accelerate war, okay? That doesn’t work. So I pushed back, I ran from it all, and this is good! I’m in a much happier place!”
- Quackity then says he wants to buy Foolish’s summer home from him...for one diamond. Foolish is taken aback as Quackity explains that for all the work Foolish has put into this, it’s just a build.
No one stays here, they just admire and leave it. It is an empty shell that’s beautiful on the outside, but on the inside, it’s decaying, something that will disappear in time with no one to remember it...much like Foolish himself.
Quackity: “On the inside, everybody knows you’re...just a builder. And I was hoping, at some point, you would realize this...after I let you die at the Red Banquet.”
- Foolish is shocked. Quackity was behind those walls and he could have saved Foolish, but instead he watched him die. Foolish draws his trident, and Quackity asks if he would really take a life
Quackity: “I did it for you. I let you die because I wanted a better version of you.”
- He wanted Foolish to realize that this life as a builder would get him hurt, and he needs to go back to his old ways: feared, not a nobody
Foolish: “You threw away my life for some kind of fucking sales pitch!”
“Power...power...damn you, Qua -- what makes you think you’re any better, huh?! How’s that worked out for anyone else that’s been here? Dream? Wilbur? Schlatt? How’d that go, huh? What makes you any better, different, than them?”
- Quackity doesn’t need a sales pitch, his country is already big and other people would take the offer.
The reason he came to Foolish is because Quackity sees himself in Foolish: someone who once saw peace and betterment of people as the way to live. It brought him nothing but suffering, and Foolish has potential
The offer still stands.
-
Chapter Two.
-
An old-fashioned documentary plays about: the Slime!
Slimes are morphing elements that can morph into just about anything, even blocks. Is Dwane “The Rock” Johnson slime?
---
- Quackity glides down onto the roof of the restaurant in a ninja outfit and elytra, setting up redstone and TNT in the floor. There’s a bit of slime on the wall and he’s disgusted, running out. This is why he wants to kill the owner of this place
- He mines into the wall only for Charlie Slimecicle to pop out. Quackity knocks him out
- When Charlie wakes up, he’s stuck in a hole and Quackity is interrogating him, asking who he is. Charlie says he is a definitely “goobless guy” who has many bones.
Charle: “Dap me up!”
- As Charlie describes what happened, it becomes clear that Charlie has overheard all sorts of passing conversations and knows a lot. He knows too much, and Quackity has to kill him
- Quackity asks what else he knows. Charlie gets distracted by the snow, which Quackity teaches him is called “coke”
- Charlie saw Foolish, the purple guy, he knows of a green guy, a red-shirt blond guy, a dead-but-not-anymore-guy. Quackity asks about the dead guy, who Charlie describes as “sooty”
- Quackity realizes that Charlie is an accidental spy and tells Charlie this is just a friendly greeting, he can give Charlie a home. He coughs again and tells Charlie that a spy is a friend, and Charlie will be his spy as the two walk off together
-
Chapter Three.
-
---
ONE WEEK BEFORE THE RED BANQUET
---
A purple-tinged POV of a person walking down the path through the Community House as Quackity and Sam talk in the background.
It’s been so long, he might be dead in the woods somewhere, but Quackity insists that Purpled is perfect for their country. Sam doesn’t think he would ever join, doesn’t think he would ever affiliate with anyone.
What about a job?
The UFO is destroyed.
If Quackity offers him a one-time job, Purpled would take it. Once he has Purpled’s attention, Quackity can do something to reel him in to join the country.
Rowing to the skull base...
Sam says Purpled’s UFO is still there, but abandoned. He moved out along time ago. Quackity has a plan...
---
- Quackity and Sam are talking by Eret’s Museum. Sam is in charge of keeping an eye out for Purpled. Sam protests -- he’s the Warden and Quackity is breaking and entering, and he’s not supposed to break the law.
- Quackity has a stack of TNT. He climbs up the UFO and starts placing TNT everywhere inside
- Purpled logs on right in front of him and immediately starts attacking, but stops when Quackity threatens to light the TNT, explaining that this was the best way to get in contact with him
- Quackity tells him about how messed up the server is, that the Egg is still an issue, and he needs Purpled’s help.
- Purpled is in the middle of a mercenary job already, but Quackity will pay Purpled well. He has a new project getting him wealth, a prosperous country. To prove it, Quackity takes him there...
---
The Red Banquet happens. A fight breaks out, and they get the Eggpire to retreat.
---
- Quackity stands on top of the flower shop. He meets Purpled, dressed in his suit, and thanks him for his help with the Egg
- Purpled stops him to ask for his money. Quackity takes him up to the roof and shows him to a chest with the money in it. Purpled approves
- Quackity has something else for Purpled: he goes downstairs and flicks a lever, and Purpled’s UFO explodes
Quackity: “Purpled, your legacy is gone, and I’ve taken it from you. That’s the last piece of evidence that you were ever here, Purpled. That’s it. And you die a long with it. You die along with it -- YOU DIE ALONG WITH IT, PURPLED!”
- Purpled runs at Quackity, attacking him. Quackity stops him, saying he did it for him. Purpled has two choices: he can take Quackity’s life and run away with the money, and he disappears forever. Or, he could join Quackity.
- Quackity tells Purpled he has potential, why waste it away? If Purpled joins him, he can buy a whole fleet of UFOs to replace the one
- Quackity promises Purpled a plot of land in Las Nevadas
Quackity: “Take the gamble, Purpled...take the gamble, and you can change everything.”
- Silently, Purpled turns and walks away
-
Chapter Four.
-
- Fundy walks to his new house in the forest and goes to sleep. When he wakes up, he opens the door to find it’s a mesa biome. He’s upset and goes back inside, reassuring himself. When he opens the door again, he’s met with Quackity standing there
- Quackity invites him to a walk, saying Fundy was a hard person to find, but he found him
- Fundy asks what this place is, but Quackity says he should know it better than anyone. As they approach, the mesa is populated by bits and pieces of L’manburg. The wooden stilts of New L’manburg, fragments of the black walls, the Camarvan. Quackity reminisces with him
- Fundy isn’t sure that the drug equipment is necessarily “good memories,” but Quackity tells him no, everything is good memories
- As Quackity leads him towards an oversized, deteriorated version of Eret’s tower, he reminds Fundy of how L’manburg was blown up
- Quackity steps into the shadows
Quackity: “You know what, Fundy? Those memories don’t matter. None of that matters, Fundy. All these structures, all these things we built together...it’s here now, but it’s really gone, and none of it matters, nor will it ever matter...Fundy, if you think about it...you don’t matter. Along with all these structures and everything in ‘em, you’re gonna fade away just like it.”
- If Fundy doesn’t change things, he won’t matter, but Quackity has plans and he doesn’t have to fade away if he just joins Quackity
- Quackity gives him ten seconds to decide. He starts counting down...
- Fundy runs towards him into the darkness as Quackity reaches one and he wakes up suddenly in his bed
- He goes to his door and opens it. Outside is the regular spruce forest, and Quackity is there to greet him.
---
It’s the day Wilbur got a tour from Tommy. Wilbur walks over to his resurrection shrine and finds the “PROJECT NEVADAS” book, reading it.
---
Las Nevadas. Wilbur, revived, comes walking down the road.
He comes face to face with Quackity.
---
- Foolish stands on top of his temple, wondering...was Quackity right? Is he wasting his time here, accomplishing nothing? He isn’t really doing anything to work towards peace
- He stands in the beacon light. Can Quackity do better than everyone else that’s tried before him? Quackity wasn’t all wrong in what he said
- At the Banquet, when he did try to help, he wasn’t strong enough. He can’t even control his own area -- people just walk in and he can’t stop them. Does he need to try something else?
- Maybe there’s a balance between both ends of the spectrum. It wouldn’t hurt to go look, try something different
- He starts making the journey through the Nether, then past Spawn until he reaches Las Nevadas. Just to visit and look around
- Can he really trust someone who let him die?
- Foolish spots Quackity across the road and goes to speak with him. The casino is still going through some repairs, as they found some flaws with the “math” and want to make sure everything is fair
- Foolish asks what Quackity wants from him. Quackity tells him it’s up to him what he wants to do, and it wouldn’t be fair of Quackity to tell Foolish that until Foolish accepts the invitation
- Quackity tours Foolish around the place, showing off the various buildings, like a restaurant and an area for weddings. Quackity sleeps in the Needle. There’s also a strip club also undergoing repairs and a massive Eiffel Tower
- They swim in the pool and Quackity asks Foolish to tell him a bit more about himself. Foolish says he worked for Kinoko Kingdom and Snowchester, and Quackity wants him to elaborate a bit on Kinoko
- Quackity tells Foolish that Las Nevadas is “its own, independent nation” and that you can’t depend on anyone. Quackity wants to depend on only himself.
- Foolish asks about the people who might not like that it’s a nation. Quackity says he just doesn’t have a plan and he’ll deal with it when the time comes
- Quackity tells Foolish he’s welcome to bring others. Foolish notes that Quackity said he doesn’t like to “dwell,” and by coming here maybe Foolish can stop dwelling on the past as well
- Quackity tells Foolish that Foolish chooses who he wants to be. The last thing he wants with Foolish is bad blood
Quackity: “I take care of those who take care of me...why do you think I have no one around?”
- Foolish tells him he’ll have an answer tomorrow. Quackity gives him temporary tokens for the casino and says goodbye to go and sleep. Foolish thinks to himself in Las Nevadas
- That’s when Foolish spots Fundy on the road and the stream abruptly ends
- Ranboo is in his basement. He wants to move the lab equipment to the table area
- He has an experiment log book that he won’t show chat
- Ranboo reads the letter Foolish left for him about the littering at his summer home
- He has a plan for what experiments he wants to do. He’s changed his opinion on the Enderwalk, as it allows him to hear chat in the first place. He doesn’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing
- Ranboo reaches the stronghold portal room and starts lining the walls with iron blocks. He thinks that after today, he might be able to remember everything
- He creates a glass water tank in the corner and some brewing stands, as well as a lever-activated dispenser with arrows
- Ranboo hit a wall with the experiments and he wonders if this strange table might be the key to breaking through
- He realized something frightening:
Ranboo: “The Enderwalk isn’t a different version of me, it’s not a different me, it’s still...me. But, from what I gathered...it’s me with...all of my memories. Every. Single. One. And I realized that...so...I mean, who knows what could’ve happened? There could’ve been an entire other story that I’m not aware of.”
- Ranboo wonders if he wants to keep living in blissful ignorance or know everything that’s happened
- He opens the log:
---
[In Ender]
Purpose of experimentation:
To understand
To learn
To remember
---
To remember is one of the purposes. There are 43 pages, and one of them had the solution.
If it gets rid of it completely, he could lose all of what he didn’t know from before. It could either be good or unknown.
- He tells chat he tricked them. They weren’t just random experiments -- he was going to solve it, and he thought he needed chat with him.
He didn’t need a splash potion. He would use the arrow and go into the water tank, and that would be the solution.
- Ranboo goes back and blocks up the hall, deciding to only use it as a last resort if something happens.
Only if something happens.
He “welp” claps to end stream.

Part 1
It’s been about two weeks since you’ve seen or talked to the Pogues. Everyday felt ten hours longer and the air felt thinner. You missed your friends. You missed surfing with John B, you missed debating about the accuracy of medical TV shows with Pope, you missed sleepovers with Kie, and yes, you even missed JJ.
As much as you hated yourself for it, you knew you did the right thing. Staying with the Pogues would have caused more harm than good. It was clear as day that you and JJ would never get along because he didn’t like you and you weren’t going to stand around and be insulted by a guy you still can’t help but think about every single day.
Every night, you pictured the hatred behind JJ’s blue eyes when he spoke about you being nothing but a spoiled brat who didn’t deserve his trust or your friendship with the other Pogues. Each word felt like an individual stab to the heart. You were use to people not liking you. The girls at your school hated you for not giving them the time of day, the boys threw hurtful remarks at you all the time after you rejected them. But they never hurt as much JJ’s. Because they didn’t come from the guy you loved.
It didn’t matter how much JJ hated you. You couldn’t help but fall for his sparkling blue eyes, tan skin, and fluffy blonde hair. You swooned every time JJ laughed and smiled because you loved seeing him happy. You were turned on every time JJ stood up for one of your friends, threatening to fight whoever it was that was bothering them, even if it was an uptight Kook. You were silently heartbroken every time JJ told you and his friends about his sexcapade from the previous night.  You were concerned and personally infuriated when JJ would come to the Chateau with new sets of bruises without telling you where they came from because that little voice inside your head told you exactly where they were from.
You loved him, and you hated that you loved him.
But this was for the best. At least thats what you told yourself.
Kie didn’t agree though. She found you in your room the next day, ready to apologize for stranding you on a boat with JJ, but it just ended in another screaming match when you told her what happened.
“So just like that? You’re gonna leave?” She yelled.
“I can’t do it anymore, Kie! He doesn’t want me there, and I am so sick and tired of trying to get him to like me.”
“What about John B and Pope? What about me? You’re our friend too!”
“We can still hangout -”
“Without JJ? That’s so unfair!”
“He hates me, Kie! How would you like it if I forced you to hang out with Sarah Cameron, huh?”
“That’s not the same.”
“Its the exact fucking same, and you know it!”
Kie ended up storming out of your room, neither one of you feeling any sort of peace or satisfaction with your decision. You haven’t talked to her since, and you contemplated calling her every day.
But you never do.
The alarm you set on your phone blared in your ear from the pillow next to your head - a reminder that you needed to leave to pick up your father. You slapped the touch screen of your phone until the stupid alarm turned off. The last place you wanted to be was anywhere outside of your room. The thought of being with you father, the man you continued to blame for all your problems, filled you with self-hatred. You hated how easily he was able to manipulate you to help him, making you and your mother out to be the bad guys. He used Andrew’s wealth as a guilt trip for you, saying that since you didn’t do anything to deserve his money, the least you could do was help him out because you and your mother left him with absolutely nothing. And you fall for it. You fall for it every single time because he says you use to be daddy’s little girl - that he had big plans for the two of you when you were old enough to learn life’s pleasures. Little did you know his biggest life pleasures had always been drugs, alcohol, and gambling.
You tied your hair up in a messy bun and bounced down the stairs. Swiftly, grabbing the car keys to your new Mercedes Andrew bought you for your sixteenth birthday, you sped walked past your little sister who tried showing you a new trick that she taught your maltese puppy.
“Look, Y/N/N!”
“Not now, Gracie,” You huffed.
As you drove through the Cut, you couldn’t help but keep a lookout for your Pogues.  You tried not to slam on the brakes every time you caught a glimpse of blonde hair or swerve when you saw a guy John B’s height carrying a surfboard.
You honked your horn twice when you pulled up to your dad’s shitty apartment. After no longer being able to pay his mortgage after your mom left him, he had no choice but to move into the cheapest apartment in OBX. He always tried telling you that was your fault too.
A few minutes later, he walked out, looking like he hasn’t showered in days or knows how to change his socks.
He slid into the passenger seat with a grunt, barely passing you a second glance. “You’re late.” He said.
You stayed quiet, knowing that anything you said would only piss him off even more since you weren’t in the mood to put up with his antics.
You drove him to his drug dealer’s house, parking outside of the one story home that looked like it was rotting from the inside out. Your dad made you take him here a couple times. Every time you stayed in the car. But today, your father had something different planned.
“Come on,” He said.
“What?” You looked at him with your brows pinched together in confusion.
“I need you inside.”
“No, no, no, no. That wasn’t the deal.”
“Well it is now, so let’s go.” His voice was stern through his clenched teeth, his eyes unblinking. You stared at him for a long second, debating whether fighting with him was worth it.
Without another word, you reluctantly opened your door and followed your dad into the house. It smelled like B.O and marijuanna, just like how you pictured a frat house would. Pots, pans, and plates were filled to the brim of the sink. A moldy meal that looked a couple days old sat at the round table tucked in the corner.
Your dad lead you into the living room where three other men were sitting. Well two men and one boy you recognized immediately. You swallowed your nerves as they all turned to look at your dad, then you.
“What’d you bring me, today, Jerry?” The guy with the long black hair tied in a low bun looked at you like you were fresh meat.
You took a small step closer to your dad, ironically looking at him for some kind of protection. You didn’t trust any of these men in this room. You didn’t care if they were your father’s friends. They were men who made poor life choices and you didn’t know how far they could take it.
You looked over at Rafe Cameron, who compared to these guys, looked like a lost kid in a carnival. He was sporting a black eye and jaw. He looked both shocked and scared to see you here, probably worried that you would torment his reputation by letting everyone know how he really spends his weekdays when he’s not partying on his daddy’s boat. Little did he know, he had just enough blackmail to use against you too.
“This is my daughter, Y/N,” Your dad introduced you. “Y/N, this is Barry.”
Barry looked you up and down and smirked. “You look like you a part of Country Club’s world.” By the way he was pointing his thumb back at the Kook, you figured that was his nickname for Rafe.
“She is,” Your father answered for you. “Remember when you said you didn’t trust me to come up with enough money to pay you back for my blow? This is proof that I got it. That I’ll always have it.”
Bile rose up your throat and your heart twisted in your chest. Is this how your dad thought of you? An open wallet?
Of course it is, you thought.
Barry nodded, impressed that someone like you came from a man like your father. “Well, take a seat. Can I offer you anything? Beer? Soda? Maybe a whiff?” He pointed to the white line on his clear coffee table.
“No. Thank you.” You said slowly before looking up at your father. “I didn’t bring any cash...”
“Don’t worry sweetheart. I paid out this time - used the check you sent me for my water bill. But now Barry knows he can trust me with his shit - that I wasn’t lying about you.”
“Maybe you can help Country Club pass my shit around. You’ll get a nice discount if you do...and maybe something else,” Barry looked at you suggestively.
“Don’t scare her off, dude, she just got here.” The other man said. He extended his arm out for you to shake his hand. “I’m Luke Maybank.”
In that moment, it felt like the whole world stopped turning. You stared at the man in front of you, drinking in all his features and matching them to JJ’s. Same blue eyes, sharp jaw line, and a perfect nose. You looked down at his hand as you hesitantly shook it. Dirty, dry, scuffed. You remembered the days and nights that JJ would limp into the Chateau. He would blame it on the Kooks but the details in his story never stuck, like he couldn’t remember them with each person he told.
“Maybank?” You repeated.
“Yeah,” He narrowed his eyes. “Do I know you?”
“I was friends with your son.” Just like that, you went from being nervous to being angry. You hated this man more than you’re own father. JJ didn’t deserve the beatings and the abuse from the man in front of you. He was nothing but a deadbeat dad who didn’t know how good his son really was to him.
“I would have remembered a pretty face like yours.”
“He never brought me around your house,” You looked at Luke Maybank from his shoes to his face. He was wearing jeans with dirt stains on them, a fitted white tank underneath a grey and blue flannel that was ripped by the cuffs around his wrists. The bags under his eyes were as dark as the bruise on Rafe’s face and his chin was in need of a shave. “Wonder why.” You couldn’t stop the sarcasm that dripped from your tongue.
You wished you could say more, or spit in his face, or kick him where it hurts. You weren’t afraid of what would happen to you, but how he would take it out on JJ if you did.
You looked up at your dad. “I’ll wait in the car.”
You quickly walked out of the house, immediately taking in a deep breath of fresh air. Before you could hide away in the front seat of your car, Rafe called out for you to stop.
You turned, only because you didn’t know what he wanted.
“What?” You said.
“Tell your boys this isn’t over. They’re not going to get away with -”
“I’m sorry. What are you talking about?”
“The Pogues. They sunk Topper’s 2020 Malibu, 24-MXC.”
At least now you have an idea as to where his bruises came from. “Is that suppose to mean something to me?”
Rafe smirked. “I forgot. You’re not a natural born Kook.”
“And yet you and I are standing in the same douchebag’s yard. What a coincidence.”
Rafe sneered at you. If this were a cartoon, steam would be coming out of his ears. “Just tell them.”
When Rafe turned to walk back into Barry’s home, you called out to him. “How do you know it was them?” Rafe turned around. “What’s your proof?” He didn’t answer immediately, and you watched him wrack his brain for some bullshit lie, which gave you all the answers you needed. “I’m guessing there isn’t any but you think it was them because you gave them a good reason to sink Topper’s 2020 Mailbu, 24-MXC. A boat I know is the finest wake setter and number one in luxury, quality, and performance.” The only reason you knew that was because JJ would say it every time Topper and Sarah would cruise by you on the HMS Pogue, and the look on Rafe’s face made it worth every second having to listen to JJ repeat that almost every week.
If Rafe wanted to respond, he couldn’t, because your dad was now walking towards you with a mean mug on his face.
Before you could say anything, the back of your dad’s hand whipped you across the face. His wedding ring, the one he refused to take off for eighteen years, caught on the corner of your mouth, splitting your bottom lip.
Rafe jumped back, startled, and you bit back a scream. Your thumb skimmed over your lip, blood coating your finger.
“Don’t embarrass me like that again. Got it?” You dad glared down at you.
“Sir...” Rafe’s voice shook with unease. If you weren’t silently shaking with shame, you would have been surprised that Rafe even said anything at all.
“Trust me, kid. You don’t wanna get in between a quarrel between a dad and their kid,” Luke Maybank smirked as he made his way to his own truck that was parked in front of yours.
You glared at the back window of the car, now shaking with both shame and anger. You knew there was nothing else you could do to change the way Luke treated his son. You knew you couldn’t stop him from hurting JJ.
But it shouldn’t matter. Because JJ wasn’t your problem anymore.
                                                  ***************
The next morning your mom made you run her errands for her. A trip to the Cleaners to pick up Andrew’s suits, the pet store for dog food and treats, and lastly to Heyward's because, according to Gracie, he sells the best hot dogs she’s ever had.
You were trembling with nerves as you stalked through the aisles. You kept your head down, focusing on finding everything on your mother’s list as quickly as possible so you could get the hell out of there. When you went to check out, Mr. Heyward studied you but didn’t say anything. Lord knows what Pope told him. You wouldn’t be surprised if he charged you extra just to make a point.
“Thank you,” You said as he handed you the brown paper bag.
He nodded silently.
As you walked out of the store, you’re faced with three out of your four friends that you dreaded seeing. They were huddled together, whispering and bickering about something. When they heard the bell above the door chime, they all looked up at you. The four of you stood there like you had all just gone brain dead. Your mouth dried up and you forgot how to speak.
Pope looked surprised to see you, like a ghost he wasn’t expecting to see. Kie looked glum, and you remembered your last conversation. You didn’t know what you were now. You couldn’t read JJ’s expression. His eyes are casted down on your face. He was staring at your lips. Your beautiful soft pink lips he’s dreamt about kissing for years. Now they were tainted and he was dying to know how, so he could wrap his hands around that bastard’s neck and set him straight.
“Hi...” You said softly. You didn’t know what else to say.
No one else had a chance to speak because the piercing noise of a police siren cut through the awkward tension. Officer Shoupe got out of his car and started approaching Pope of all people.
"Morning Officer,” Pope said nervously.
Shoupe acted like he didn’t hear him. “I have an arrest warrant for felony of destruction of property.”
You instantly thought back to what Rafe said to you yesterday. Topper’s boat. How they’re not going to get away with it.
You watched Shoupe with wide eyes as he told Pope to put his hands up. “Hands where I can see them.” Kie tried blocking Shoupe from getting any closer to Pope. “Young lady, out of my way.”
Heyward walked out of his shop when he heard the commotion. “You arresting my boy?”
Shoupe didn’t answer and forcefully pulled Pope’s hands behind his back.
“Be careful!” Kie screamed at him.
Everyone started screaming at Shoupe, trying to get him away from the boy who didn’t deserve this. Pope had a future ahead of him. One that didn’t involve relying on his parents money to get. He was a hard worker, stayed out of trouble, and even had a scholarship interview in a couple weeks that will be his one way ticket off this island. He couldn’t go to jail. It would ruin him.
Your head started ringing as the people in front of you moved in slow motion. Rafe’s words repeated in your head - more importantly the words he didn’t say. He hesitated when you asked how they knew it was your friends. Because he didn’t know for sure.
“Stop!” You screamed louder than anyone else, causing everyone to pause in their movements. Your friends looked at you with wide eyes and Shoupe narrowed his in suspicion. “Pope didn’t do it.” You couldn’t stop yourself from doing what you were about to do, but you knew it was better than Pope getting pushed down to the station. “I did it.”
“Y/N...” JJ started to say softly, but you cut him off.
“You’re here for the Thornton’s sunken boat, right?” You continued, knowing that if you proved with some details that you were there, Shoupe would have no choice but to take you instead of Pope. “Pope didn’t do it. He wasn’t even with me when I did it.”
Shoupe shook his head. “Y/N, you don’t want to cover for -”
“I’m not covering. I was sick and tired of Topper and his friends always taking advantage of my friends, who do nothing but work their asses off to make sure families like mine can prop their perfectly painted toes up on some beach chairs and do nothing but lay in the sun all day. So I hit Topper where it hurt with something so replaceable as a boat because I know money is all that matters to that family.”
“Y/N, what the hell are you doing?” JJ said through clenched teeth.
You shrugged. “What? I’m just telling the truth.” You took a deep breath and glanced at JJ one last time before focusing back on Shoupe. “You know my dad, Shoupe. And you know I’m not talking about Andrew. I mean, my real dad.”
You tried to act like you didn’t just spill your biggest secret to really sell your story. You pretended like the eyes of all your friends weren’t burning holes in your head.
Shoupe used to be the officer that would frequently visit your home when you lived with your dad. Neighbors would call the cops on your family a lot because the screaming got to be too much. Without your mom pressing charges, there was nothing he could do.
“Yeah. Yeah, I know your dad,” Shoupe said softly, like he felt sorry for you that he knew exactly what you were talking about.
“I guess I inherited his temper.”
“What?” Kie’s voice broke and tears started cascading down her cheeks. You forced yourself not to look at her.
“I know you don’t have any proof that Pope did it. There’s no cameras posted around the Thornton’s dock.” You knew that because Sarah made you hang out with their friends a couple of times on that boat. “And there were no witnesses.” You were banking on Rafe’s reaction for this one. “So I’m guessing the Thornton’s, most likely the Mrs., paid you or something to make the arrest. But I don’t think the Sheriff would appreciate you taking someone who you have no evidence against in instead of someone confessing to the crime right to your face.”
You didn’t blink when you stared Officer Shoupe down, challenging him to go against you and fight his way to Pope. But both of you knew he couldn’t take Pope after this.
“Is this true?” Shoupe looked at Pope.
“Yes -”
“Not you! I’m asking Pope,” Shoupe snapped, glaring at you. You knew you just ruined his entire day.
Pope looked at you for some kind of answer. You tried subtly nodding your head, telling him it’s okay to agree. You wanted him to say it was true.
You didn’t know what was coming next for you, but you knew you could handle it. You didn’t know if Pope could.
“Yes, sir,” Pope said.
JJ felt like he was punched in the gut. He didn’t want Pope to go to jail, but he sure as hell didn’t want you going there either. He wanted to tell you he was sorry, that he was an idiot, that he tried not to love you but failed. He knew he treated you like shit and he pushed you away. Yet here you were, still taking bullets for each of them.
Shoupe nodded and began reading your Miranda Rights. You handed Heyward your groceries and said, “I’ll have someone pick these up.”
“Wait!” JJ tried calling out to you as Shoupe helped you into the back seat of his car. “Wait! No!”
You kept your head down as Shoupe drove away, only looking up when you knew you were at least a mile away from your friends.
As Shoupe closed the door to a room where you were to wait to be interrogated, you smiled to yourself. Your mom was going to be pissed, you were about to get in a shit load of trouble, and the Pogues still may never talk to you again, but you knew you just saved Pope’s entire future - the one he deserved more than anything.
And you were proud of yourself for that.
                                                   ***************
Of course Mrs. Thornton didn’t want you to go to jail. She wanted about $30,000 of restitution money to make up for it. You rolled your eyes when you heard that. All that family cares about is money. You knew she probably didn’t even care about the boat in the first place.
Your mom screamed at you the entire ride back to your house. She took your phone and TV away and threatened to homeschool you for the next school year. Your mom was strict but her punishments never lasted long. She usually caved somewhere in the first week. You think its because she thinks your childhood was punishment enough and that behavior like this was to be expected because of it. You tried not to get that mentality stuck in your head, but sometimes you could get yourself into some trouble here and there.
Another part of your punishment was to do the yard work around the house. Andrew had already written you a list by the time your mom forced you to wake up at 6 a.m.
You couldn’t even be mad at the punishment. Mulching the yard was the least you could do. Andrew even planned on paying the Thornton’s back if you worked for him for free the rest of the summer.
It was about mid morning when a car pulled up your driveway. You felt like the wind was just knocked out of you when you noticed the junky Volkswagen van park.
JJ hopped out of the Twinkie and walked in your direction. You didn’t know what to do. Were you supposed to say hi and pretend like nothing ever happened between you two? Would you go back to bickering? You looked down at your body and was mortified at what you were wearing. Although it was only some black leggings and a white tank top, you were covered in dirt and sweat, and reeked of cow manure, which you knew was what mulch was made out of.
You tried pushing away the butterflies that swarmed your stomach when JJ stood next to you. You turned to look at him, unsure of what to say. You hated that he had this effect on you. Usually you were quick witted and were able force any kind of small talk. I mean, you were a Kook now after all. But this felt different. You didn’t want to have small talk with JJ. You wanted to really know him. His past, his now, his future. You didn’t want to be tongue tied.
“Hey,” He said softly.
“Hi,” You wiped the sweat off your forehead with the back of your gloved hand. You glanced back at the van, waiting for one of your other friends to appear. “What are you doing here?”
“You weren't answering your phone and I got worried,” JJ sheepishly tucked his hand in his pockets and had a hard time of meeting your eyes.
Ever since you mentioned a dad with a bad temper, JJ couldn’t stop thinking the worst for you. When you weren’t answering your phone, he wondered if he had done something to hurt you. The thought made him so sick with anxiety, he drove to your house to make sure you were all right.
“Yeah, my mom took my phone away. Turns out she doesn’t like it when her daughter gets arrested.” You tried to joke. “Why were you worried?”
JJ finally looked at you again. “What happened to your lip?”
You coughed from the unexpected question. You reactively bit your bottom lip and looked away. “I uh, fell on Sarah’s boat the other day.”
“Y/N...” JJ said softly and touched your elbow to make you look at him.
“What, JJ?” You snapped, turning to look at him with a glare. He probably put two and two together the second you mentioned your dad yesterday in front of him. Just like you did when you met Luke Maybank. You hated that you had this in common with the blonde Pogue, but you also knew he could be someone you could confide in, which is something you never had. “Why do you care? Just because you know about my dad now doesn’t make us friends.”
“I was wrong, okay? I was wrong about you, Y/N.”
You scoffed, “I have an asshole for a dad, JJ. Nothing else has changed.”
“I was the biggest dick to you. You tried every day to be my friend and I pushed you away. And I’m sorry. The truth is, I don’t like change and I don’t trust people because my dad -” JJ paused and looked away towards the road, unable to meet your eyes.
“Because your dad’s just like my dad,” You said, making his head snap back to you. “I met your dad the other. It turns out they have the same drug dealer.”
“You met my dad?” JJ’s eyes went wide.
“Yeah.”
“Did you...”
“I didn’t say anything other than how we use to be friends. But trust me, there was a hell of a lot more I wanted to say.”
JJ nodded and rubbed the back of his neck. “Listen, you were right. I didn’t take the chance to get to know you because I was afraid that I would like you a lot more than I wanted to, and then you would realize you were too good for us...for me. So I pushed you away. I tried hating you so you would hate me too. But truth is, I never hated you. I could never hate you. You’re smart, funny, kind, beautiful...” Your eyes flickered up to meet his and you noticed a pink hue running up his neck, which probably matched the one on your cheeks. “I’ve always thought that. And I don’t care about where you came from. You could have been born and raised a Kook or you could have been homeless your entire life. Nothing could ever change my opinion of you. I like you, Y/N. And I miss you. The Pogues miss you and they hate me and I hate me too because I drove you away. And I’m so sorry.”
You couldn’t tell if this was a dream or not, but you weren’t going to mess this up, even if it was a dream. Because JJ was standing in front of you, telling you he missed you and that he wanted you back with him and his friends, and you’d be a fool not to take him up on that because you missed them too and you were miserable without them.
“I miss you too, JJ.”
JJ smile grew wide at your words and for a second, you thought he was going to jump up and down and cheer. “Really? You don’t hate me?”
You shook your head. “I never hated you, JJ. I never could.”
“You should.”
“No. I shouldn’t. I get why you didn’t want me around. I’m a Kook now and I was being shady when I tried hiding my dad from the rest of you. You were just protecting your friends.”
“Turned out they weren’t the ones who needed protecting,” JJ said softly.
You shook your head. “I don’t need protecting.”
“Why do you still see him if you live here now?”
“It’s complicated.”
JJ reluctantly nodded. He hated that this was a part of your life he couldn't exert himself into just yet. He had to earn that. He needed you to trust him first before you let him into such a vulnerable part of your life. But he understood that. He understood that more than anybody.
But he was going to make sure John B kept his eyes on you. JJ knew you two were close.
“I won’t push you to tell me. But you can talk to me about it. I won’t judge you.”
“Thanks, JJ,” You said graciously. People say that all the time. You can talk to me. For the most part you never believe them. You think its just something people say to make them sound sincere. But with JJ it was different. You believed every word.
“Just promise me if you see him again to take someone with you. Like John B or something.”
“Okay,” You said. You didn’t know if you meant it because all you could think about was that JJ cared enough about you to be worried.
“Okay...” JJ said awkwardly. “So we’re good? Friends?”
Your heart cracked at the ‘F’ word but you knew you were crazy to hope for anything else. You were lucky enough to even get called a friend. You bit down on your bottom lip as your grinned and nodded. “Friends.”
“Good,” JJ nodded. “So, I’ll see you soon?”
“Yeah, I’ll see you soon.”
“Okay...” JJ clapped his hands in front of him nervously. “Good. Then I’m just gonna...”
“Yeah, I should probably get back to...” You pointed back to the mulch.
“Bye, Sassy.”
You turned back to the mulch in your wheelbarrow and bit back the urge to squeal in delight, at least until the van pulled out of your driveway again.
“Actually you know what?” JJ said, making you turn around. He was walking back over to you with a determined look on his face. “Screw friends.”
“What -”
Before you could process what was happening, JJ cupped your cheeks and smashed his lips against yours. You instantly kissed him back and pulled him closer to you by fisting your hands into his shirt. The butterflies in your body transformed into a stampeded and your heart was hammering against your rib cage.
You’ve kissed so many other guys before, but this one felt different. There was a passion behind this one - a meaning that felt so deep it could only be explained through actions. Kissing JJ felt right, like you had done this hundreds of times before.
JJ pulled away first and rested his forehead against yours, his eyes trained on your swollen lips. His breath hit your face and your legs went weak in the knees.
“I’ve wanted to do that for about two years.” He said.
“What took you so long?” You said, your eye lashes fluttered up to look at him.
“I didn’t know what I had until it was gone,” JJ said, looking up at you. He pulled away to look you in the eyes. “I love you, Y/N. And I understand if you don’t feel the same way but - “
You pulled him in for another kiss as fireworks exploded in your head. You didn’t want to let go of this moment. You couldn't believe that everything you wanted was happening.
“I love you too.”
JJ’s eyes lit up like lights on a Christmas tree as did his smile that widened with each second. He picked you up by your waist and spun you around. You giggled above him and beamed down at him. You’ve never felt this happy in your entire life.
When he set you down, he kissed you again. “Say it again.”
You pulled him in close enough for your faces to be nose to nose. “I. Love. You. JJ Maybank.”
JJ shook his head and chuckled. “Unbelievable.”
He kissed you again, and you didn’t care if you didn’t get the yard work done in time because you fulfilled your duty as a Kook. You officially have everything you could ever want.
And you wouldn’t have it any other way.

For Bad Things Happen: could you please do Keith strapped to an operating table with Shiro coming to rescue him? (Ironically the opposite of what happened in canon 😆)
Sure thing! I enjoyed this one, though I wrote the last bit with a fever so I’m hoping it makes sense and the quality didn’t drop.
Tumblr media
@badthingshappenbingo
Fandom: Voltron: Legendary Defender
Prompt: Strapped to an Operating Table
Warnings: human experimentation, noncon body modification, non-graphic amputation, non-graphic mouth whump, emeto, blood mention, death mention, threatened eye whump but nothing actually happens, needles
.
.
The first few times, Keith fought against the restraints. Growled at the Druids that stuck needles in him and pulsed magic through his veins. Screamed his anger to disguise his fear, despite the fact that no one listened or cared.
That changed after the first surgery.
When they took his arm, a bit of his defiance went with it. He didn’t have the energy to fight so hard anymore. After all, it had been days with no sign of anyone coming for him, and now there was this thing attached to him that he refused to acknowledge as his own.
He didn’t know how Shiro did it. How he just...accepted something of hers being part of his body. Used it like it was nothing, like it had always been there. Like it hadn’t been crafted specifically for him by the witch who took pleasure in torturing him.
As the experiments dragged on, he still snapped his teeth at any fingers that strayed too close to his face. Still glared his hatred at the emotionless masks that hovered over him.
But he remained silent. Stoic. Stopped rubbing deep rivets into his wrists and ankles, pulling on metal straps that had no give. Haggar noticed the change, smirked that infuriating smirk and commented on how much better behaved he was.
He couldn’t fight anymore, but he wouldn’t let them see how he was crumbling to pieces inside. Only once he was returned to his cell did he allow himself to curl into a ball, metal arm laying out as far away from his body as possible, and let his thoughts run wild.
Why haven’t they come for me?
They’re not coming for me.
They shouldn’t come for me.
I don’t want them to endanger themselves.
I can’t keep doing this.
I want to go home.
The second major procedure wasn’t quite as bad as the first, though when the choices were ‘amputation without meds’ versus ‘teeth removal without meds’ it wasn’t really something he wanted to dwell on comparing.
A metal contraption was shoved into his mouth, the crank on it turned until his jaw was forced wide open, and Haggar herself took out both his upper canines and replaced them with what he’d find out later were fangs. She tended to lurk in the background while her Druids carried out the tests from day to day, but she took over the major stuff herself. Keith wasn’t sure what was worse, having to stare at the Druid’s masks, or at her ugly face. At least with the Druids he couldn’t tell that they were actually enjoying the whole thing.
And he didn’t have to worry about her seeing when a few tears slipped down to his temples.
That night in his cell he accidentally bit his tongue, his lip, then his tongue again with the sharp new fangs. He wanted to scream, wanted to rip them out with his bare hands, but he was too much of a coward to go through that pain again. She was turning him into something he didn’t want to be. She was making him look like...like them, like a monster, like the half of his biology that had enslaved and murdered so many people, the half that he tried so hard to pretend didn’t exist.
What will Shiro and the others think when they see me again? Will they even recognize me by the time she’s done with me?
Are they even coming?
It’s been so long. Has to have been over a week, at least.
Maybe it really is better if they don’t come at all.
The next experiment they ran made him violently ill. He really couldn’t afford to lose any of the sparse food they gave him, he’d already lost so much weight. The only good news was that they were forced to cut the testing short that day, dumping him back into his barren cell to fend for himself.
He was so tired. Tired of being there. Tired of being poked and prodded and cut and changed. His body was flagging, all of the substances they’d injected him with and the blood he’d continuously lost taking its toll.
He wasn’t sure how much longer he was going to last. If the team was coming...they might be too late.
After that day of puking his guts out, he no longer even had the energy to glare or snap. He let them drag him to the lab, shove him onto the table, and pin him down with all the many restraints without so much as a sound, and stared up at the ceiling doing his best to ignore what was being done to him. All of his fighting now went into keeping the tears he could feel burning his eyelids from escaping.
Shiro...I’m sorry. I tried to stay strong. You should...you should just forget about me.
More time passed. By Keith’s best guess it had been a few weeks since he’d been captured, but he’d kinda stopped bothering to count. They strapped him down to the table again, and he didn’t even really care until Haggar appeared above him.
She was going to take something else from him.
How much more, until he was no longer himself at all?
“Such unusual eyes,” she croaked, dragging a far too sharp fingernail across his cheekbone. “More advanced than Champion’s, for sure, but still nothing like they could be.”
Dread crawled up Keith’s throat and stuck there, making it difficult to breathe. “No,” he whispered. “No, please, don’t…”
A smile lit up her face. “Ah, he finally begs. I’ve been wondering what it would take.”
He didn’t even care anymore. “Please don’t take my eyes, please.”
“Oh, don’t worry.” She turned to the side, busying herself with tools. “I’m only taking one for now.”
He was gonna be sick. Panic blared in his mind, burning his chest and throat and eyes...his eyes, his eyes. He’d never really liked them all that much. They were a weird color, not normal, an outer indication of how different he had always felt.
But he didn’t want them to be taken. He was...he was gonna end up looking like Sendak, wasn’t he? The thought only increased the pressing nausea.
He turned his head to the side, sure he was about to throw up, when an alarm began wailing out in the corridor. Red lights flashed overhead, and he squinted against them, confusion taking over his panic. Haggar and the Druids suddenly hurtled into motion, snatching up tools and gathering around the table, but their frenzy was interrupted by the door slamming open and more people pouring inside.
The next few moments were chaotic. Keith couldn’t lift up his head enough to see what was going on, but he heard the familiar enough sounds of fighting and dared to hope. That this was finally over, that someone had come for him, that he wouldn’t have to lose anything else, after all.
“Stop!” Haggar screeched. Her hand fisted in his hair, and his breath caught. “You really don’t want me to inject this into your precious Paladin. You see, I’ve been saving this for a later experiment.” A sharp point grazed the side of his neck. “Pure quintessence. What will it do to him? Even I don’t know. Quintessence is a tricky thing. I’m hoping it will bring out more of his superior lineage. But it could very well turn him feral.”
“Haggar. Don’t.”
That was Shiro. Shiro. He was really there!
“Then drop your weapons,” she hissed.
No. He was so close, so close! “Sh-shiro, please…”
“It’s okay, Keith. It’s gonna be okay.”
The silence was so thick that he could hear Shiro’s arm power down, hear two different bayards return to neutral and clatter quietly to the floor. He squeezed his eyes shut, willing the tears to stay put.
The crack of a gun split the air.
Keith’s eyes flew back open, but he barely saw Haggar jolt and disappear through the sudden pain stabbing through his neck. He screamed, and he didn’t know how much of it was from pain and how much from fear.
Shiro materialized over him, and he would have laughed aloud from relief if he hadn’t been shaking so hard. “Hey bud, it’s okay. You’re okay now.”
“N-no, no, get away, get back, get away from me. You can’t…” Keith sobbed. “I don’t wanna hurt you, you have to leave me.”
“We’re not leaving you,” Shiro replied firmly. “Look.” Gently, telegraphing his movements, he reached for the syringe and pulled it out of Keith’s neck, eliciting a whimper. Then he held it up for him to see the golden liquid. “She didn’t get to actually depress it, see? You’re good. You’re safe.”
Safe. A feeling that he’d never thought he’d have again. Shiro was here, running his hand through his greasy hair, and the others were cutting through the restraints, and it was over.
Except that it never really, truly would be. “Shiro, she...she…”
“I know.” He pointedly didn’t look at the arm and the teeth, but they were there on display for everyone to see. “It’s gonna be okay. We’re gonna get through this, okay? Together.”
He was free now. No more metal restraints. No more Druids or Haggar. Shiro gathered him up into a huge hug, and it was the best thing he had ever felt in his life.
“Okay,” he whispered, tears running down his cheeks and the front of Shiro’s armor. “Together.”

“Did you hear me?” Chris’s voice was filled with patience and warmth. “I’ll save you. I’ll be your Connector.”
I looked at him silently, knowing that I should feel relieved.
Whether my alternate memories were caused by the mental degradation, or if I was truly some sort of traveler tasked with saving this world, his offer solved all my problems. Forming a match with him would stabilize my mental condition, allowing me to fully understand what was real and what was not. It would help me become not only a true Guardian, but a powerful one that could help take on the Hive and save the world, completing my mission.
I should have felt relieved. I should have felt grateful for his generous offer.
But instead, I felt sick and wanted to run away.
“Thank you for offering this, but you have a dream, Chris. You want to be a Guardian more than anyone else.” I found myself arguing passionately, hoping he would withdraw his offer. “I can’t let you sacrifice all the work you’ve done, the trust others have placed in you. Besides, you already have a Connection with Princess Ilene...”
“Alaira.” He frowned as I finally managed to free my hand from his grasp and leaned back to put some distance between us. “None of that is as important as your wellbeing. Ilene understands that.”
“Maybe you don't have to sacrifice all that though. Maybe there’s another match out there for me…” I was grasping at straws, not even sure why I was arguing. But I knew it, felt it deep in my soul.
I didn’t want to match with Chris.
“There’s no one else. I am your only chance to be a Guardian.” The warmth was gone, his face and tone were serious. “Either you match with me, or they’ll put you on indefinite leave, and you’ll never be a Guardian again. “
WARNING! MISSION FAILURE IMMINENT!
TOTAL COMPLETION 2%
MISSION FAILURE WILL RESULT IN WORLD COLLAPSE AND DESTRUCTION OF THE SOUL. PLEASE COMPLETE THE MISSION.
“I don’t want to force you.” He reached out to smooth my hair, becoming visibly frustrated as I pulled back further, refusing to let him touch me. “I’m just trying to save you.”
“…”
“Trust me.”
____________________________
“Trust me.”
The man in front of me threw up his hands as he paced back and forth. “Everything will go a lot smoother if you STOP CHANGING THE STORY!”
“I thought that was why we were here, though?” I sighed, leaning back in my chair, adjusting the ballgown out of the way and cleaning my nails with a blade. “To fix the lower realms, to save these worlds? That requires change, right?”
He paused in his movements, glaring at me. “Stop acting stupid! These worlds are broken because they didn’t follow the rules. We know the rules. We have to follow them perfectly.”
“I don’t want to though.” I shuddered. “No offense, but if the rules are going to require us to have a romantic relationship, I’m finding a different way. There's always an alternate solution.”
“That’s what the story requires, you have your role to play. I am the hero of this world, the prince, and you are the damsel in distress. I was supposed to save you. You were supposed to fall in love with ME. Why did you have to stab the witch yourself?!"
I flipped the knife in my hand. "She was asking for it."
"You can't keep doing this. You know the consequences of not playing the right part.”
“No, there’s always different paths to take." I sighed, "You’re a good friend, and I’m glad to have you by my side, but that’s different than love.”
“…”
“You clearly don’t love me either, so why are you making such a fuss about this? As long as we complete what we came here to do, that’s all that matters, right?”
“…”
“Right?”
He stepped closer to me, his atmosphere slightly threatening. “Why are you so different from what you are supposed to be?”
“What are you…?”
“Why can’t you just ACCEPT...”
His hand grabbed my wrist, the grip painful. I raised the knife in my hand, but hesitated to stab him.
“YOUR.”
He pulled me closer until our faces were inches apart. His bright blue eyes were blazing with anger as they stared into my own. Each word burning itself into my soul.
“FATE.”
Letting me go, he walked away, putting some distance between us, before turning back to face me.
“This lower realm is stabilized. We should return.” His smile was cold. “The next mission is a little different from our previous ones. We’ll talk about it later.”
“…”
“And next time…?” He laughed, a bitter sound. “You’ll play your part whether you want to or not.”
____________________________
The memory was slow to fade, my heart still beating quickly with residual anxiety and anger. My hand tried to grasp the knife from the vision, but it closed on empty air instead.
“Alaira. Why aren’t you answering?”
I will not accept my fate.
I didn’t even know what fate I was rejecting, but I knew deep down in my soul that I had to fight.
I blinked a few times, focusing on Chris’s expectant face.
“I really appreciate you being willing to put aside your dreams to help me, but... Can you give me tonight to think about it? I’m just… I’m still really overwhelmed with all the changes that have happened.”
“…” He studied me closely before nodding with a polite smile. “Of course, Alaira. Like I said, I don’t want to force you. This will be the start of a beautiful partnership.”
Reaching out, he caught my hand again before I could pull away. He squeezed it tightly, almost painfully, before letting go and stepping back.
“The hero and the heroine… together… as it should be.” His mumbled words reached my ears and I felt sick and panicked once more.
No.
“Have a good rest, Alaira.” He closed the door behind him, and I heard the lock click into place.
I was trapped. I wanted to panic, to get up and pound at the door. To try to escape. Instead, my head started throbbing once more, and exhausted, my body pulled me back to sleep again.
____________________________
I woke up to three young women sitting next to my bed, staring at me.
I let out a startled shriek, scrambling to sit up and back away until my back hit the headboard of the bed. Looking around, I was still in Chris’s dorm room, but it now seemed much smaller and crowded with the trio who seemed intent on watching my every move.
“Hey guys, what’s up?” I waved a hand weakly, feeling scared by their intensity.
“… We wanted to see how you were feeling.” Princess Ilene was staring at me, her face unreadable.
This feels very uncomfortable.
“Why?”
The girls looked at each other at my question, before turning back to focus on me once again.
“We know what Chris offered to you.” A young lanky woman, who I recognized as my classmate Allie spoke up. Wasn’t she the one who sent me all the threatening messages in class?
“He’s willing to give up everything to save you.” Wen, the engineer who had confronted me early on, spoke solemnly, her face grim.
Ilene snorted bitterly. “Even if it means breaking up our partnership.”
“… Are you here to beat me up?” I don't think I can fight in my current condition. “Because if that’s the case, let me go ahead and say that I haven’t agreed to his proposal.” And I don’t want to. “ If you want to talk him out of it, that’s fine with me…”
“Are you stupid?” Ilene interrupted, rolling her eyes. “You should be grateful that someone as wonderful and caring as Chris is willing to sacrifice his dreams to save you. And you want to waste that?”
Allie chimed in. “Yeah. We may not agree with him becoming your Connector, but we all care about him, and if you’re that important to him… then we need to respect that.”
Glancing around the room, I shuddered at the intensity of the atmosphere. “You all care about him… romantically?”
“Yes.”
“Yep.”
“Of course!”
The girls answered in unison.
“And he cares about you all the same way?”
“…” There was an awkward silence, before the petite engineer spoke up.
“We are important to him, obviously. But now isn’t the right time for him to get involved in romance. He’s pursuing his dream of being a Guardian. One day things will settle down, and we’ll know which one of us is in his heart.” She smiled at me. “I’m sure you understand. You’re the same way, after all.”
“I’m the what now?”
“You’re in love with Chris.”
Umm, No.
“Sorry, there’s been a misunderstanding.” I rubbed my forehead as I tried to explain. To be fair, ALAIRA had been in love with Chris. But me? Not so much.
“I… respect him. “ It wasn’t completely a lie. I did respect his ability to completely ignore reality and charge forward without any doubt his actions were right. “But I’m not in love with the guy.”
Allie patted my shoulder. “Don’t worry, you’re in a safe place. You can admit your feelings here. We all love Chris. Even if he’s too busy becoming the strongest Guardian ever to return our affections.”
Have I… accidentally been admitted in the male lead’s harem? I sighed, wishing I could bang my head against a wall. Someone SAVE ME!
“We just wanted you to know that we will support you and Chris becoming partners.” Wen smiled, standing up, preparing to leave.
“You really don’t have to…”
Allie stood up as well. “I’m just glad you’ve come around and want to work WITH Christ instead of trying to embarrass him…”
“I really don’t…”
“And you better appreciate what Chris is willing to give up for you.” Ilene still looked angry. “He’s too good for you.”
“I don’t want…”
“We’ll be cheering for you at your next match with Chris” Wen pulled Ilene to her feet. “Don’t let him down.”
I was getting REALLY sick and tired of not being allowed to finish a sentence. “I AM not going to be his partner!!!”
WARNING! MISSION FAILURE IMMINENT!
TOTAL COMPLETION 1%
MISSION FAILURE WILL RESULT IN WORLD COLLAPSE AND DESTRUCTION OF THE SOUL. PLEASE COMPLETE THE MISSION.
The girls ignored my words, leaving with smiles and waves. Frustrated, confused, I slammed my fists against the bed, screaming. The bright blue words warning me of my upcoming demise slowly faded from the world, as if they were never there.
SCREW THIS! End of the world… destruction of the soul… I DON’T CARE! I am not going to be forced into matching with Chris. He gives me the creeps. I’d rather have my mind splinter than let him into it.
Feeling a strange mix of recklessness and calm, I sat up in the bed, taking a deep breath and staring at the clock in the wall.
Just a few more hours, and everybody should be asleep. And then…
I leaned over, picking up a small hairpin that dropped on the floor from Ilene’s head when she stood up.
I make my escape.
____________________________
Time passed slowly. I felt as if each hour was taking a century to pass, sitting in Chris’s room, not knowing if he would come back. Not sure if the blue words would pop up again, announcing that I had failed my mission, that my soul would be destroyed. I was having trouble focusing, my thoughts tangling together inside my head, difficult to separate out. I took slow, deep breaths, trying to sort out what I knew.
I don’t want to match with Chris.
I knew that for a fact.
I don’t have a better plan to save my mental state, or complete my mission.
Also fact.
I might die.
The facts were really depressing, actually. Just looking at it like this, it still seemed as if my best option would be to agree to Chris’s proposal.
____________________________
"We know the rules. We have to follow them perfectly.”
____________________________
The man's words from my memory echoed in my head, but I ignored them.
Like the me in those memories said... There's always an alternate solution.
I won’t match Chris.
It wasn’t rational or smart. But I couldn’t give in.
So, if I don’t have a better plan, why bother to escape?
I leaned back against the headboard of the bed, trying to come up with a single goal after leaving this place. It didn’t take long, as a familiar face came to mind.
Liam. I want to find Liam.
It didn’t make sense. It wouldn’t help my mission, as he couldn’t form a connection. We didn’t even know each other that well, only spent a few hours in each other’s company. But deep down inside me, the only thing I wanted to do was see him again. He was the only person I trusted.
Chris said he returned home, though.
Hopefully he was lying. And if he wasn’t… well, then I would just have to search for him then.
The clock chimed. It was midnight, and almost everyone should be asleep. Getting to my feet, I took a moment to steady myself, ignoring the searing headache and lightheadedness that had gotten worse the more awake I was.
It must be the mental degradation. Who knows how much time I have left?
I moved quietly towards the door, studying the lock. Alaira had been a good student, spending all her time studying military tactics and Mech technology. She had no idea how to pick a lock.
____________________________
I was an assassin, crouching in front of a door, easily forcing it open within a few seconds.
“Amateurs.” I whispered to myself with a grin. “Thinking you could keep me out.”
____________________________
The memory faded, but my hands were already moving, inserting the hairpin I had found into the lock and rearranging the tumblers inside. As I felt the last one slide into place, there was a loud clicking noise, and the door swung open.
“I’m not Alaira.” I whispered. “These memories aren’t hallucinations.”
Which was probably not a good thing, given that I was about to fail my mission, and have my soul destroyed. But I was still happy.
I am not Alaira.
I crept down the main hallway of the men’s dormitory, having to hide a few times to dodge security guards. The throbbing of my shoulder served as a steady reminder to keep close track of my surroundings.
“Report.”
Just as I was entering a entrance hallway to the dormitory, someone called out. At the sound of the voice, I ducked under a table, hiding myself in the shadows, glad I was wearing my dark uniform still.
“Everything has been quiet, sir.” A security guard stepped into my vision, looking nervous.
“You’re certain?” The voice was quiet, but was still easily recognizable as the one I wanted to hear the least right now:
Chris? What’s he doing up at this hour.
“Yes, sir. There’s been no movement around the dorms tonight.”
“Good.” Chris stepped into view, his polite façade gone, in its place a grim, ruthless man. “As I’ve said before, Guardian Alaira is deep into mental degradation, and is a danger to herself and others. I've kept her here solely for the purpose of her safety, but she can’t understand that in her current state, and may try to escape.”
“Are you sure…?” The guard seemed nervous.
“Do YOU want to be responsible for General Gladus’ only child being harmed?”
He straightened up, shaking his head back and forth vigorously. “No! No of course not!”
“Then do what you are told. And remember, Prince William…”
Liam? I leaned in, interested.
“…whereabouts are unknown, so keep an eye out.” He sighed. “He was supposed to go home after receiving that written summons. But he hung around instead, and has been trying to see her.”
“Why can’t they…?”
“He’s the reason she has refused to match. As a Connector without the ability to make the connection, he hopes to keep her like him, not caring that her mind is almost completely broken. “ Chris held out his hands helplessly. “Even if he’s a prince, we can’t let him do this. Not to General Gladus’ family, right?”
Liam didn’t go home?! He’s nearby! I felt excited, almost not hearing the next part of the conversation. The sound of my name dragged back my attention.
“Alaira and I will be forming the Connection tomorrow. So we just have to keep an eye out until then.”
“She has agreed?”
“She will.” He smiled, the expression terrifying in the shadows. “She has to.” He moved off to the side, his boots only a few feet from my face, picking up something from the table above me.
“Or she’ll fail the mission, and her soul will be destroyed.”
He whispered the last sentence, but it struck me like a bolt of lightning.
HOW DOES HE KNOW ABOUT THE MISSION?! ABOUT THE WARNING? I clapped my hands to my mouth, preventing a sound from leaking out as my frenzied brain tried to make sense of this new information. Is he a traveler too?
Does he know who I really am?
“Well, congratulations on a successful match, then.” The guard responded cheerfully, unaware of the grim threat lurking behind Chris’ words.
The two separated, leaving me frozen, still hiding underneath the table.
Who is Chris, who am I? I clutched at my head, the throbbing pain worsening. I don’t have time to figure this out!
I started moving forward, ignoring my growing panic and confusion. Ignoring the agony of my mind falling apart.
I was going to find Liam.
I crept along the side of the room, making it to the front door of the dormitory.
What if there are guards on the other side?
I pushed away the panicked thought, and mentally prepared to fight my way out.
I’ve already gotten this far. I won’t give up now!
With that, I took a deep breath, and pushed open the door, rushing out, ready to start swinging.
I ran straight into a firm chest.
Fight!
I cocked a fist, swinging it towards the man’s face, when I head a single word.
“Alaira?”
I froze, looking up into familiar dark blue eyes. “Liam? What are you doing here?”
“Trying to rescue you! What are you doing here?”
“Escaping.”
“Awesome!” He grabbed my hand, pulling me along. “Let’s escape together!”
We ran away.
____________________________
Quickly moving through the different winding hallways, I lost track of where we were going. The doors flew past us, the soft glow of the emergency lighting a blue blur. All I could see was Liam’s back in front of me.
And I feel a whole lot safer than I ever did sitting in that quiet dorm room.
Finally, Liam pulled me into a classroom, dragging over a chair for me to sit on. Once I sat down, he brought a desk over, opening up a backpack and setting a thermos and a container down next to me.
Opening the container and thermos, I shook my head “How on earth did you manage to bring along hot tea and sandwiches to a rescue attempt?”
“I was worried that you might not have been eating properly.” He muttered.
A brief flash of a smiling man peeling an apple by a campfire filled my mind. “Support spouse?” The muttered words came unbidden to my lips, and I rubbed my temples.
Liam blushed, “What did you call me?”
“Nothing, sorry. My mind is having trouble keeping things straight right now.”
“The mental degradation?” He reached out, his hand pausing in the air before dropping back by his side. “How are you doing?”
I took a sip from the thermos, realizing from the empty feeling in my stomach that I hadn’t eaten anything in the whole time I had been trapped in Chris’s dorm room. “Honestly… I don’t know. Things are getting jumbled… I’m having trouble figuring out what’s real and what isn’t.”
“It’s already that far along?” Liam’s face was full of concern. “And there’s still no high enough match for you to make a connection and reverse the process?”
Chris’s offer crossed my mind, but I shook my head. “No.”
“…Alaira.” He spoke my name quietly. “ What about Chris? “
“…”
“I don’t know what’s going on. All I know is that you disappeared from the infirmary last night, and all of a sudden I received a communication telling me to return home immediately. When I tried to track you down to check on you first, I couldn’t find you. Finally I narrowed it down to the Chris’s dormitory, but he had the place locked down like a fortress.”
Liam sat down next to me, staring down at his hands. “I heard that he has a high enough resonance match with you to make the connection, but he’s always refused in the past.” He glanced up at me. “But that’s not the case anymore, is it?”
“…I don’t want him in my head.”
“Even if it means your mind degrading further?”
I thought over the mission warning. “Even if my soul were going to be destroyed. I won't match him. It would be worse than death.”
“…okay.”
Shocked, I stared over at him. His face was serious, his eyes concerned as his gaze met mine. “Really? That simple?”
“I won’t force you to let that person into your mind. If it’s against your will, my attempt to save you could destroy you.” He broke the eye contact. “I just wish more than anything that I could make the Connection.” His voice cracked on the last word. “I’m useless.”
____________________________
“I’m useless.” The man in front of me, usually confident and smiling, was broken, his hands clutching tightly onto my own.
“Don’t say that.” I was breaking down, barely able to lift my head to look at him.
“It’s true. Something has changed... the world has changed. This place is rejecting you. My blood doesn’t work anymore. You’re going to be forced to leave, to go back to… “ He held his face in his hands. “And I can’t stop it.”
“Hey, lean closer.” I whispered, a small grin on my face despite the pain that wracked my body.
He leaned in, his dark blue eyes curious.
I grabbed the front of his shirt, pulled him in closer, and kissed him.
____________________________
I blinked, the memory still gripping me tightly, and realized that something was very wrong:
I was still kissing someone.
I was kissing Liam.
My hand gripped the front of his uniform tightly, the fabric wrinkled in my grasp. My other rested on his shoulder, feeling his trembling beneath my hand. His own hands braced against the chair and desk, keeping him from falling down where I had already obviously pulled him out of his seat. Our lips pressed together tightly, a comfortable warm feeling.
Did… I just jump Liam while in the grip of a memory?
…Also, I should probably stop, right?
I slowly released him, embarrassed as he sat back in his chair with a loud thump, his eyes wide with surprise and his face red.
“I … I’m sorry, I was confused…I didn’t mean…” I stuttered, wondering how to explain.
“I felt that.”
“I’ve been getting flashes of memories, and I’m not sure what they mean, or what’s real…”
“Alaira.”
“I shouldn’t have grabbed you, and… done that. I’m sorr…”
“ALAIRA.” Liam’s uncharacteristically loud voice startled me into silence. I stared at him warily, unsure if he was mad or not.
His hand grabbed my own, shocking me. “I felt that.”
“I don’t…”
“I felt it… without the barrier.” Liam was still blushing, but his eyes were filled with an excited light instead of the defeated expression that had been there before.
“You did?”
“Yeah… um…” He swallowed uncomfortably, glancing at me before looking away. “Can we do that again?”
“…”
Seeing my strange expression, he waved his hands frantically. “Not to take advantage of you or anything! I mean I can try to match you if my barrier is down, and that’s the only way…”
I raised an eyebrow. “So you’re saying you don’t want to kiss me? You just want to see if we’re a high enough resonance match to form a connection?”
He hesitated, and then covered his face. “No. I want to kiss you again too.”
“Good.” I moved closer this time and leaned in with a smile. “Me too.”
We kissed again.
This time, beyond the warmth of the physical connection, I felt an electric pulse between us, a surge of power that was foreign to myself, but all too familiar at the same time.
We must be higher than a 50% match! Enough to stop the mental degradation!
Before I could break away to tell Liam, I felt his hand gently slide around the back of my head, his fingers tangling into my hair. The kiss deepened, becoming more passionate. The power exchange between us grew exponentially, the tangling of Alpha and delta waves binding our souls together.
He’s making the Connection. I responded fully, throwing all my power into it. Immediately my headache lessened, the vague sense of uncertainty that had been haunting me faded away.
After what seemed like an eternity, we broke apart, catching our breath. My heartbeat was frantic in my ears as I stared at Liam. I could feel him still, inside my self, tangled with my mind and spirit, a constant presence within me.
This is more than a simple Connection.
Liam nodded, looking overwhelmed. “I’m not sure exactly what happened… I think we might be a really high resonance match.”
“Why…” I paused, trying to sort out my thoughts. “Why does it feel like we’ve always had this connection… we’re just getting it back now?”
“Maybe we did in another life. ” he grinned, his face still red. “I felt tied to you the moment I met you.”
I sighed, resting my head against his shoulder. “Same.”
There was a comfortable silence, as we sat in the dark classroom, the tea in the thermos in front of us long gone cold. Finally I spoke up, refusing to move from my position of leaning on him.
“What now?”
He thought it over. “I guess we tell everyone we formed the Connection, and that you don’t need to be suspended anymore.”
“And after that?”
“Not sure.”
There is still the mission, I guess. “How about we save the world?”
His arm tightened around me. “If it will make you happy, anything.”
We waited out the night, together.

“I thought I saw you leave Sky’s room and then I thought… That can’t be true. Y/N wouldn’t be stupid enough to do that when they know what I know.”
You really hate Stella. Slowly, you turn around to face her preparing yourself for the venomous smile she no doubt has plastered on her face. Barely anytime has gone by but you’re already getting very tired of having her threaten you.
“Silva is hurt. He needed someone to comfort him. That’s all.” You’re dog-tired wishing for a peaceful sleep but Stella has other plans.
“If Sky needs comforting, I will make sure he gets it. Not you.” It baffles you how she claims to care for him when all she does it look after her own needs. Frankly, you don’t care who gets to comfort him as long as he’s not alone. You’d give up just about anything to make sure he’s happy but Stella seems to think it’s him who should give up everything for her.
“Are you really that selfish you’ll put your own happiness above his?” you dare ask tired of her games.
“I’m going to give you one last chance to fix this,” she starts completely ignoring your question.
“I have to stay away from him. I get it,” you interrupt her about to turn around and walk away when she stops you.
“I want you to convince him to go on a date with me. He’s been too occupied sulking over you to show any interest in me. I want you to make him realise that I’m the obvious choice.” She must’ve lost her mind. For a whole minute you simply just stare at her taking her words in. She wants you to convince Sky to fall in love with her. In the middle of everything going on with Silva. Is she completely mental?
“Did you hear me or do I need to repeat myself?” In an attempt to act unbothered, she checks her nails but you see right through her. All the insecurities and abandonment issues shine bright in the dark and you briefly pity her. Everyone has heard the rumours of her mother and the way she’s been treated, but you came from a horrible life too and you didn’t turn into a bitch.
“I heard you.”
“Great. You can tell him I’ll be waiting in my room.” She walks past you not even bothering to ask how Silva is doing. Despite your need for some proper sleep, you decide to head down to the greenhouse. Mr. Harvey is adding a fresh coat of the herb mix to Silva’s wounds.
“Sky is sleeping,” you quickly say to easy Silva’s mind. He sits back down revealing the pain he’s in.
“Can I help with anything?” you ask needing something to occupy your mind from what Stella asked of you. How can you focus on that when Silva could be dying?
“Maybe you could cool me down again? It really helped me rest.” You oblige placing your hand on his forehead and channeling just the slightest magic into the palm of your hand. It’s an instant effect when the ice hits him. Slowly his skin returns to a normal shade rather than the hot red it was mere minutes ago.
“Thank you,” he whispers lying down on the table again. It must be really bad if he’s so willing to show weakness. In the time you’ve known Silva, he’s never shown weakness about anything. You know it would be a different story if Sky were here though. He’d never want Sky to know just how much pain he’s in and you can’t blame him. It would crush Sky.
“No problem. I can come back in a few hours to do it again?” You look to Mr. Harvey for signs whether that’s a good idea or not. He gives you a quick nod before continuing his work. You mean to head to your room but you spot a blonde boy who’s sneaking out the backdoor.
“Are you kidding me?” With a sigh, you follow him outside realising that he’s heading straight for the forest.
“Sky, where are you going?” you ask and the sound of your voice stops him dead in his tracks.
“I’m going to find the Burned One that got Saul. I can’t just sit around and do nothing.” He’s not looking at you. Probably because he knows you’ll try to talk him out of it.
“Please stay. Marco is out looking as we speak and I’m sure he’ll find it.” You’re desperate to keep him protected within the barrier but you’re always painfully aware of the fact that Sky is one of the most stubborn people you’ve ever met. You’re not sure you’ll be able to convince him especially now that you’re broken up.
“I’m not waiting for someone else to save him. Saul is all I have left.” It’s a brutal reminder of what you took from him when you ended things and it tugs at your heartstrings just how badly you hurt him.
“Then I’m coming with you.” If he’s going out there, you need to be there too. You’d never forgive yourself if something happened to him and you had the chance to stop it.
“You’re not going with me,” he says as if he has any say at all.
“If you’re going, I’m going. Package deal, remember?” It’s something you started saying after Riven kept commenting on the fact that you never went anywhere without each other and up until recently you never have. He doesn’t look pleased but he also doesn’t say no. He just hands you a small dagger for you to hold onto to. You grab hold of the water drops lying on the grass and freeze them before levitating them in the air.
“I think I’m good.” He takes the dagger back without a word and proceeds to the forest. It’s a long trek but you don’t complain. You asked to be here and as much as you hate the uncomfortable silence that’s formed between the two of you, you’re glad you’re here. There’s no point in the search because it’s impossible to figure out what direction the Burned One headed but all you can do is keep a lookout and hope you get lucky.
“Stop,” you whisper grabbing hold of his sleeve. He stops moving but you feel the shiver in his arm where your fingers grazed his skin.
“Sorry,” you mumble letting go of him. A little further ahead, you see something move. Sky pulls out his sword and you channel your feelings ready to freeze it in place. It’s not the first time you and Sky has worked together, but it is the first time it’s been outside of training.
“I freeze, you stab.” He nods hardly moving a muscle. You direct your power at the Burned One freezing every part of it to keep it from moving. You hold it in place feeling the fire inside of it trying to beat your ice but as you see Sky run towards it, you feel more motivated than ever to win. He stabs it right through its core and when you feel its resistance die out, you let go of control. It falls to the ground officially dead.
“We did it,” you say out of breath. How you haven’t passed out from sleep deprivation yet is beyond you but it’s catching up to you now.
“I’ll call Silva,” you say ignoring the need to fall asleep right here on the ground. It takes two rings before he picks up shouting about how irresponsible you are for taking off and hunting Burned Ones yourself. He doesn’t say thank you, but you know it’s hidden between the lines.
“He’s definitely feeling better,” you say once he’s done giving both of you an earful. He demands you both return to school at once and now that you’ve killed the right one, you can oblige easily.
“Thank you for coming with me,” Sky says on your way back.
“Of course. I know what Silva means to you.” This time the silence is comfortable almost as if nothing went wrong between the two of you. But Stella’s ultimatum is still weighing heavy on your mind.
“Can I ask you to do something without any questions?” you ask him right before you reach the barrier.
“What is it?” he asks but you need him to promise you before you tell him. You know he’ll never agree to it otherwise.
“Promise me,” you say pausing just before the barrier. From here you can see the school and the students training out on the grass as if it’s just a normal day. But to them it probably is.
“I promise.”
“I need you to take Stella on a date.” His glare might just pierce you from pure anger.
“No questions. You promised!” He’s about to protest but stops himself. He’s a man of his word even if he hates it right now.
“Fine.” He starts walking leaving you behind. The second people spot you, they stare at you like you just arrived with the circus.
“Is that them?”
“Do you think it’s true?”
“Are we in danger?” Everyone is whispering and pointing fingers making you feel incredibly uncomfortable. You notice Musa not too far away and head over to her.
“What’s going on?” Before she has a chance to tell you, a first year taps you on the shoulder. A bunch of girls are watching from afar making it obvious that the first year in front of you is here on a dare.
“Is it true?” she asks continuously looking back at her friends.
“Is what true?” you ask confused ignoring the sneaking suspicion you feel.
“Is it true that you’re a changeling?”

strength - a tartaglia story
(this fic is part of the series i am doing)
!genshin spoilers (specifically about childe) in explanation! i haven’t really read the lore on him but i still know a bit so apologies if i got something wrong
The card of strength upright represents, well, strength. It symbolises the courage it takes to persevere. Persuasion also is an aspect of it. Other aspects of this card include compassion and influence. I think Childe fits this card really well as a major aspect of his character is strength and desire to get stronger. Persuasion is shown in the form of both his quick wit and rough charm, along with more.. physical means as a Fatui member. Compassion isn’t obvious, it’s more towards his family, and he holds a lot of influence as a Harbinger.
Now what’s interesting is the reversal of Strength can also apply to him. He has a ton of inner strength, clearly, to have survived both in mind and body the fall into the Abyss. Does self-doubt also apply to him then? I think that since he’s constantly trying to prove his strength, even though he is extremely strong and he knows it, he suffers self-doubt towards his actions. He’s not on the right path, joined because he was chosen by the Tsaritsa as her weapon and to protect his family. His loyalty to the Tsaritsa is unquenchable, but I think there are still those shreds of doubt deep inside asking whether he wanted this. Low energy is an aspect of Strength reversed, and is shown right after his show of strength as Foul Legacy, his battered and weak human body coping with the transformation effects. In conclusion, he is the perfect person for this prompt, in my opinion. I also just wanted to show how it’s okay to be weak sometimes, that strength isn’t just physical and yeah.
gn!traveler! reader (reader is not lumine or aether, just a traveler from another world; weapon is more of a melee/close combat weapon)
warnings: genshin archon quest (liyue) spoilers, violence, aftermath of foul legacy, no one dies, but there's blood, typical golden house violence, childe is slightly ooc towards the end but that's because he’s soft and mushy, also poor medical knowledge sorry to any medical people reading this, there’s a bit of angst but a lot of fluff
in which u beat tartaglia up then look after him then kiss him to shut him up
series m.list
Blood drips from your weapon as you hold yourself up, panting heavily. Red tints your vision, the harsh crackle of lightning coming from Foul Legacy’s polearm harmonising with your pulse resounding through your ears. It’s overwhelming, yet you’ve never felt more alive.
You’ve been fighting Childe for the past hour, and the quick defeat of his first two forms is eerie. Have you grown stronger? There’s no time to wonder as his flurry of attacks force you to leap out of the way in defence. The squeaks of your shoes feel almost comical in this dark place, the only light being from the moon glinting off the Mora lying all around, piles and piles of the gold causing a warm glow across the room that was never meant to be used as a makeshift arena.
His attacks are becoming slightly repetitive, the same three slashes, and just when you think you have an opening, he summons the godforsaken whale, leaving you to sprint to the side of the arena lest you drown in the incoming flood. You’re closer to him than you thought, and you immediately get on the offensive, slashing out and barely scratching through his armour.
Childe laughs, the sound distorted by the mask materialised by his transformation. He sounds terribly amused, you scowl, and dodge his polearm swinging down at you, stabbing at the slight gap in his armour, not expecting it to connect. When it does, you slide the weapon out in shock, seeing the crimson drip off the blade, yet are left with no time to marvel as Childe immediately starts a new sequence of attacks, and you are once again on the defensive.
A slight pause in the sequence is enough for your red stained blade to rain down upon his armour, the weapon beating down upon his arms, the Harbinger countering with double blades. You’re shoved back with the force, coughing slightly at the impact. The night is still young, yet it feels like hours since you first began.
Your lungs burn and your head feels clouded. Yet as you stand there, watching Childe warily, you notice that his movements are slowly becoming sluggish. Have you worn him down? The very thought gives you an energy boost, your screaming muscles are not heeded as you circle him slowly, his movements becoming slightly easier to read. He is incredibly strong, you admit to yourself, but tonight you’re walking out of here the victor.
You spring out of the way as he speeds past you, twisting through the air as you kick him in the back, unbalancing him with his momentum just enough to hit him with the butt of your weapon, hard. He stumbles, and that is enough to bring him down to the floor with a barrage of your attacks.
He doesn’t get back up.
Unsure, you stand with your weapon poised, the dried blood a testament to his injury. Childe fought well, and you cannot tell if it is just a fluke that you emerged victorious.
A small gasp alerts you, Childe’s Foul Legacy form dissipating from his body, which is littered with cuts and bruises. Your eyes immediately are drawn to the deep wound matching your blade shape on his torso, and his eyes fly open. A weak smile is on his face.
“You fought well, comrade,” Childe grins, his face pallored and sweaty, and you drop your weapon. “Putting your weapon down? No matter how injured someone may be, never let your guard down around them. Especially a Harbinger.”
He somehow wrestles with the ground enough to sit up and kick your legs out from under you. You land with a heavy thud, a breath of air getting knocked out of you as you grab your weapon and point it at him, worry obvious in your face at his flushed, sweaty face. He looks sick. Is it the wound? You grab your belongings.
“Leaving already?” Childe’s lazy smirk is betrayed by his voice cracking slightly. You ignore him, rummaging around in your bag for needles and thread, ointment and bandages. You return, and he looks at you, lips parting in surprise as you kneel by him, your weapon left by your bag.
You wordlessly gesture to his outer clothing on his torso, and he is unusually quiet as he slowly slips his shirt off, his flushed face getting even more red as your hands guide him to lie down. You clean your hands and the wound and take out the sterilised needles and begin stitching, taking out your seelie to better aid you in seeing what you’re doing.
After bandaging the wound and helping him put his clothes back on, Childe is wordless. You’ve been so gentle with him, even though you don’t particularly like him. He calls you his friend, yet he knows deep down he’s lying to both himself and you. He knows you don’t view him as anything but an evil Harbinger with bloodstained hands, and he definitely doesn’t view you as a friend, he views you as so much more. How he longs to throw away the crimson mask he wears constantly, a brutal reminder of the role he has taken on, and join you on your travels across Teyvat. Yet reality is merciless, and his hopes are constantly shattered when you leave once again, eyes dancing with mirth as you interact with the citizens of Liyue.
But not when with him. Your face is not carefree when with him, it is a battle mask of bared teeth and frenzied eyes. He loves seeing both your faces you show, but he wishes you’d laugh when with him. His eyes are cloudy, and as you gently run your hands through his hair, they close. Just for a bit, he thinks. I’ll let my guard down just for a bit.
When he wakes up, he isn’t in the Golden House anymore, but a soft bed. Golden ribbons of light pierce through the shutters, and he immediately sits up, wincing slightly at the sharp pain in his torso. He looks down, noticing a figure slumped over the bed from a chair, and is struck at how beautiful you look when asleep. He holds his breath, hoping you stay like that for a while.
You yawn and awake, stretching your arms out and over your head as you stare at Childe. After he passed out from your ministrations, you mentally groaned and carried him out of the Golden House, all the way over to your small apartment on the outside of Liyue Harbour. Were you regretting it? Definitely. Were you feeling bad for him? Yes. Was this a stupid decision? Of course. But seeing his pretty face sleeping almost made up for it,
“Hey comrade,” Childe smirks. “Sleeping in the same bed as a Harbinger? This really wasn’t your brightest moment.”
Your nod is perfunctory and you stand. “Glad to see you’re alive.”
Childe curses at himself mentally. Why is he provoking you?
“I’ll go make something for us to eat,” you stand up, leaving to go to the kitchen. “Stay here.”
Childe looks down at his hands, confusion seeping its way into his brain. Why were you being so kind to him? Why weren’t you making the same remarks as always? He doesn’t deserve it. So why?
You return with a large plate of fried eggs and toast. Childe takes it numbly, not caring to check if it’s poisoned as he swallows.
After he’s done and you’ve gone back to the kitchen, he decides he’ll leave. Why burden you further? He grabs his scarf you’ve neatly folded and placed on the dresser, the scent of your laundry detergent lingering on it and he short-circuits. It smells like you. He wraps it slightly tighter and walks to the kitchen.
“What are you doing?” you stare at him with concern in your eyes as you make tea. The look in your eyes makes his heart pound. You’ve never looked at him this way before, and he feels his walls threatening to crumble.
“Well, I figured I’d get going,” he rambles, waving his hands as you stop what you’re doing and walk over to him. Childe’s eyes dilate slightly and he feels his pulse speed up. “You know, I’ve got stuff to do and comrades to train and you’ve been really nice-”
He’s cut off when you pull him towards you by his scarf and kiss him. His heart almost gives out before he realises that, holy shit, he’s being kissed by you and oh Archons it feels amazing. And he’s holding your waist, and you’re pulling him closer and closer and if you asked right now for the world, he’d give it to you. And he’s kissing you back, the warmth you share drives away the morning chill.
When you finally pull away, Childe looks like he’s over the moon.
“Finally, quiet,” you speak first, imitating his annoying smirk as you gesture towards the kitchen table. “Would you like some tea?”
