I'm dead mando episode killed me (would love to hear your thoughts on it from my grave)

I am dead with you IT WAS SO GOOD AND I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. My sister and I were literally bouncing on the couch and screaming at the tv.

Okay this is what I have wanted THE ENTIRE TIME. Din & Baby bonding time, plot stuff is centered around Din & the baby, cameos are super cool but don’t overwhelm Din being the main character, preestablished characters unique to the show being used. This. Not Filoni making Yet Another Version Of His TCW Stuff.

The opening scene of Din and Baby was PRECIOUS. They’re both clearly so reluctant to do this but Din has Promised and more importantly, he wants to do what’s best for his kid even if it means separating from him. Prioritizing someone else’s needs over your wants is true love HE’S SUCH A GOOD DAD

Din being such a fucking dumbass in this episode damn. Din ilu but where is your jetpack??? Why did you try to get through the Force barrier the exact same way THREE TIMES when you knew it wouldn’t work and after it had knocked you unconscious???

("Boba Fett? Boba Fett? WHERE” is still my favorite Boba moment tho, and a top favorite Han moment)

Also Jango has always been my favorite Fett so I was LIVING for him being acknowledged and especially by Boba

Fucking howling at Din apparently feeling he is the only person in the entire galaxy who can decide Who Gets Beskar

Like the SHEER GALL from a meta perspective of looking at Boba Fett, the Orignial Mandalorian of all of Star Wars, and saying “Yeah I’m not sure if you should have that armor”

Like Din will happily be chill with anyone he meets who doesn’t immediately kill him but if you have Mandalorian armor you need to bring out your receipts immediately lmao

This is what I wanted with other Mandalorian characters coming in though. Contrasting and comparing others’ Mandalorian cultures/sects/whatever with his and Din having to reexamine his own beliefs with it. With Bo-Katan we got like two lines about it but here it’s A Thing that’s discussed, plus some Boba background, and Din comes to face his own biases and ultimately decide that yes, Boba should get the armor even if he doesn’t follow the Creed the same way Din does. Plus the contrast between Din and Boba’s Mandalorian Experiences but also the uniting thread of Mandalorians Really Love Dads.

Anyway the Fetts are Real Mandalorians again as far as I’m concerned. I have spoken.

Fennec Shand!! I couldn’t believe they WASTED Mulan herself in The Gunslinger and this made me so happy!! She’s such a badass and an excellent side character and I loved seeing her again, and it’s really cool that she and Boba teamed up? That’s a backstory I wouldn’t mind seeing in a tie-in comic or novel or something.

As a SWTOR fan I loved seeing Tython brought to life. Since SWTOR was 3000 years ago it makes sense there’s little left, but the stone thing was cool. I wonder what the runes mean? Although my sister and I were laughing over how much Tython apparently looks like California.

I know I already said it but Din getting yeeted and trying to get through the barrier three times was great

Also why tf aren’t you shouting “Grogu!” instead of just “kid” after we know Grogu likes hearing his name???

WHEN THE BABY WAS KIDNAPPED I TOTALLY DIED THE CONCEPT ART EVEN HAS HIM CRYING OH MY GOD

We all know Din was crying under his helmet for at least 50% of this episode

Gideon is SUCH a good slimy villain, so creepy and chilling (and he got STYLE), I absolutely loved his villain monologue even if it’s delivered to.....a baby. Even if we’re getting some hints that Grogu is possibly more developed than previously indicated by his behavior, Gideon’s still delivering his Evil Speech to a toddler which is amazing

YO WOW WE NEED TO TONE DOWN THE DARK SIDE TENDENCIES THERE GROGU

Like usually he just has A Big Moment but this time he just goes buck wild with those poor troopers. Plus we’re so used to seeing him little and innocent and cute so it was very jarring (in the best way)

Despite the seriousness of the situation I fucking lost it at the Baby Handcuffs. Like who had to order those? Which poor peon was ordered by Gideon CRAFT ME BABY HANDCUFFS? Were they custom made? They’re so tiny!! Baby commits Baby Crimes and goes to Baby Jail

THEY SHOT THE BABY. I DON’T CARE IF IT WAS A STUN BLAST THEY SHOT HIM

Mayfeld????? Why????? I really hope Din takes Cara along too. I’m loving this Avengers Assemble thing again, although I definitely want Greef and Cara along as opposed to any of the other Guest Stars we met this season

(Frog Lady can come though, she’s cool)

Maybe Cara’s New Republic ties will help? Not quite sure how but that’s a cool thread they could use. Again since she’s a big secondary character on the show, and unique to the Mandalorian, she’s one I’d love to see more development with as well - what made her decide to rejoin the New Republic? Will this cause conflict between her and Din in the future? etc.

Like this is what I’ve been craving, it was so suspenseful and good, I cannot WAIT for what’s next!!!

ok um how did my ass miss the last chapter of ttbs last night!!!! but!!! wow, what a way to end the series,,, it was so beautiful and i loved all the parallels between this chap and the novel,, like honestly one of the bits that hit hardest is harrow yelling at gideon abt apologizing to her like,,, and you've managed to capture it again in the scene, harrow's complete unravelling,, the thought of yes griddle still loves you no matter what, even if it's rotten work and she just waits in the (1/2)

hallway bc harrow finally asked, am I crying? maybe so,,, and the little sprinkling of corona and camilla is such a joy and there’s something abt harrow’s and sextus’s friendship that is so constant like they somehow just Get it each other which is captured so well,,,, harrow literally can’t look love (gideon) in the eye not just bc she’s like one feet shorter than her and harrow really did yeet herself instead of the phone this chapter asdjklg,, but thank you for this whole series, it was (2/3)

tbh the second scene I ever Conceived for this novel was the hallway scene (the initial Seeing Harrow on Tinder scene was the first) and I have been DYING TO WRITE IT for forever. Writing it was a wonderful experience tbh and I’m so so glad you enjoyed it. Gideon’s always going to wait for Harrow as long as Harrow asks bc Gideon is loyal and has chosen to love Harrow On Purpose

I loved Harrow and Sex Pal’s relationship in the book - I almost feel like he could’ve been, like, an older-brother figure to her. He just quietly believed her and trusted her and was vocal about it even though she consistently pushed back against him and pushed him away and I truly loved that about him.

Sometimes when you confess your love for the girl you pretend to hate,,,,you gotta Go,,,you know,,,

No but in all seriousness, I love when people read what I write and choose to talk back, so thank you for throwing yourself into my inbox time and time again. I’m planning on writing something semi-adjacent to this focusing on the Hot Mess that is Camilla and Corona in this AU (with Palamedes being....Palamedes), so maybe you’ll enjoy that? It’s going to overlap with TTBS a little bit but go past the end, so Gideon and Harrow will be TOGETHER (and I can’t wait).

1. First ship you ever wrote fic for: oh fuck, I’m old. It was DEFFO good ol’ mudshipping for the (now likely deceased) Golden Sun fandom back in two-thousand-and-three?

2. Ship you write the most now: my writing blog is 90% f!Fenhawke. Y’all been knew.

Ship you read the most now: urgh, called out. ;/ Well, still f!Fenhawke because obviously, but I find it very beyond difficult to pass up any Solavellan that passes through my dash, as well as basically any pairing feat. f!Hawke, lbr. Also I’ll go ahead and throw it out there that if it includes anything kinky I’VE PROBABLY READ IT even if I know next to nothing about any characters involved out of CURIOSITY I SWEAR.

4. Newest ship: Probably Kyssandra? Though I don’t read it because I’m too lazy to search. I WOULD say AdaLeon only in that it is REnewed due to recently finishing RE2make, but the AdaLeon ship is one that is well established and cherished since, gosh, 2008 maybe?

5. Rare ship you wanna read more of: hmmm. I really need to branch out. Is Niloy a rare ship? I don’t canonically ship Aloy with anyone, but if I had to and hated myself... :): Otherwise Hawke/Merrill (f!Hawke or m!Hawke), and...??? IDK MAN, IT IS SO. HARD. 6. Your taboo ship: I know it’s not like ~controversial~ but for me personally, Solavellan checks this box because GAWD, there’s so much that is NOT GOOD about it (imo) but uurrrrgghhhhhhh puwer dynämckk...

7. They never met in canon ship: I was thinking hard about this and though it’s the first time I’ve ever considered it, I feel like Carver/Cassandra could... be Really Good. I mean, Carver wants to be someone’s knight in shining armor, Cassandra wants a knight in shining armor, Carver’s used to being in someone else’s shadow (which I feel like would be fine for him in this case because he could still KNOW that in truth Cassandra might revere him in all the little but important ways to give him the validation he otherwise needs and oH GOD WHAT HAVE I DONE

8. Your unexpected ship: see above??? No, but kind of in a way FenHawke actually? Because going into the game I knew that that was a Popular Ship and I was like “no I’m gonna be Original And Unique!” and I was 1000% on the Merrill train... until I heard Gideon Emery’s voice and then yeeted/yote myself over to the FenHawke side (sorry Merrill bb, but we all know all Bioware fans have voice kinks). Oh! And Bullavellan actually. Going into the game I barely batted an eye at him except for “oh cool big pansexual bull man who’s whole entire hand is the size of Lavellan’s head there is nothing about this situation that could be dangerous at all”, but once I reached a certain point of the Solavellan romance (which was actually just the “Ar lath ma” surprisingly!) and gave it the ol’ “Actually Fuck This” I romanced all options just to see. No one really stood out to me through the initial flirting sequences (and, love her now, but I was not going through the lengths to get to the good parts of Josie’s romance) and since I couldn’t romance Cassandra as a lady Lavellan (bullshit), I kept going through Bull’s out of pure curiosity. Interestingly, it wasn’t until after he became Tal’Vashoth where they had the scene on the Skyhold bridge with the assassin that I was like, “oh shit, he’s got BRAINS to match his BITS!” (and, admittedly, Lavellan getting to get angery at him made it 100x better) that I fully hopped aboard the Bullavellan ship.

9. The ship you always forget to love: probably ZevWarden tbh. I tend to forget about Origins in general a lot whoops.

10. Ship your oc with a canon character: I meaannn... that’s Bioware.

11. Ship you are embarrassed about: like I said, Solavellan tbh.

12. Your most romantic ship: FenHawke, easily. if AdaLeon had more canon content, that would knock FenHawke out of the park.

13. Your sexiest ship: AdaLeon as Mr. & Mrs. Smith.

14. Your most tragic ship: my canon FenHawke because of the Fade Bullshit and Walk the Void that follows, because, oh friend, it is a doooozy.

Hann Watches CM Like a Normal Human Being

1x07: The Fox

So I’ve decided to watch Criminal Minds from the beginning after skipping around intermittently for the last like, 4 years and change. I do this with literally every series I get into if I don’t catch them when they premier, especially when they’re procedural. I know, it’s weird and all kinds of questionable. I usually stick to movies and video games because of this habit.

After watching LDSK I figured I might as well document it here.

Disclaimer: I’ve been spoiled to the hilt on major series plot points (who leaves, who dies, who tells their story who traumatizes the BAU) BUT have only watched certain episodes that interested me because once again, I am a terrible tv show watcher. Therefore, I know more about certain season arcs than others. Also, I love all of the characters (with certain exceptions) but will probably talk about Hotch the most since he is my favorite. However, I will try not to rate episodes poorly if they don’t include him a ton because that’s not fair tbh.

Anyway, on with the show.

Family annihilators are probably my least favorite unsubs.

Why do these shows always need to kill off pets. FFS.

God I love seeing Haley and Hotch happy. Kinda hurts knowing what happens later.

TONY TODD?????

The horror fan in me is screaming.

Also A+ performance from this guy. The entire interrogation scene is exciting as hell.

Garcia’s sweater vests are so weird but I kinda like them this season.

Not a ton of interaction unrelated to the case aside from the first scene with Haley. Not enough Elle or Reid. Also that damn Gideon screaming scene was necessary for the plot but dear Lord I could have gone without it.

Morgan kicking down the door in his suit was iconic though.

A+ acting for the most part. Loved Tony Todd’s scene. Unsub’s actor was amazing at his role. I wasn’t irritated with anyone really.

Maybe, if only to see Haley and Aaron happy before the writers decide they can’t have nice things anymore.

It’s a good episode. I think it’s hard to follow up LDSK (a 10/10 imho) but it managed to hold its own really well in terms of pacing and writing. Perfect ending.
