I re-read Good Omens via audiobook and I just collected my favorite details
"Crowley rather liked people" is a quote I still love so much. Even though he is a demon with the job of making people upset each other, he likes humans. The contrast between what they make him do and how he experiences Earth.
That scene with the ducks where Crowley almost drowns a duck and Aziraphale is like "I say, my dear" and Crowley is like "Oh yes I forgot myself" and allows the duck to return to the surface. Crowley is usually very polite about the most unhinged things which I just find endearing
All the times Aziraphale calls Crowley "dear boy"
The fact Aziraphale has "exquisitely manicured" hands lmao. I like to think he does go to the manicurist, same as he has a proper barber in the show
Aziraphale blushes sometimes and often gives mean looks to customers to push them out of shop
I like the on-going theme in the Good Omens universe of wanting to build a better world for loved ones, but how that drive, when taken to an extreme, is self destructive. Adam says he'll make the earth good for the Them, and will make sure the Them will be protected and happy in it. But the Them don't want it, they understand Adam is acting out and is not thinking things through. There is no point in trying to possess something and bend it to will forcefully. It wouldn't be good. It wouldn't be of free will. It would make them just another of his whims and no one, either the Them or Adam, actually want that
Aziraphale thinks Crowley is a creature of God when you "get right down to it", which is a thought both meaner and kinder than he realizes
Crowley is described to have "a voice so laid-back you could lay a carpet on it"and it's my most favorite thing ever lmaooo
"You're seducing women here!" /"I think perhaps you got the wrong shop" is always a brilliant line
Even though everything in the Bently turns into Queen's Greatest Hits, I love that Crowley actually loves music, and keeps his collection of records highly organized
Also love the fact that Crowley keeps his apartment orderly, though that's probably in big part because he doesn't really live there
I do appreciate that Crowley sleeps because he wants to, not because he needs to. Truly a relatable guy.
There's a big HOLY SHIT moment in the audiobook - the speech the American evangelist gives about the apocalypse. It's fucking incredible. The actor is amazing, delivering fire and brimstone and absolute hatred and certainty until Aziraphale pops inside of him.
Death really is Azrael, literally the angel of death
Aziraphale comes up with the solution at the end but ONLY because of Crowley, who challenged Aziraphale about the difference between the great plan and ineffable plan at the very beginning of the book
There are many moments where both Crowley and Aziraphale are thought to be a gay couple, but it really made me laugh that they are at the end of the world, telling each other it's been a pleasure to know each other all this time, and then Shadwell interrupts to call them "Nancy Boys"
Everyone in the Good Omens fandom is right, I do love that in the book, the wings of demons and angels are the same color
Crowley thinks the biggest battle will be heaven and hell vs humanity. This has got me thinking a lot. I figure this is because at some point humanity will rebel against any divine intervention, once we figure out that heaven and hell have been playing dice with us. But we'll see.
It does warm my heart that the story begins and ends with a garden and with the eating of the apple - Adam doesn't know why the old man hates people touching his apples so much, but the world would be a lot less interesting if he didn't. It's a fitting end for a fitting beginning.

What do you think of the Love at First Sight trope, especially when it comes to the early Disney Princess movies? Some people may find love at first sight to be hackneyed or outdated these days, but I am very interested in what you have to say about it. I don't think you ever talked about it at length.
I think it's beautiful. A lot of people bash on it for not being realistic, but there's something to be said for things that are either aspirational or simply escapist. And, honestly, I don't think it's that bad of a thing to glorify or like? It's a fantasy- Cinderella has a pumpkin coach, not an uber lol it's totally feasible that she'd meet the love of her life while going to a ball that her Fairy Godmother sent to and it is to distinguish that, in these universes, these are the loves of their life (otherwise Snow White and Aurora still would've been under sleeping curses). And I think, in the age where most people can't even get someone to commit or a text back after a first date, being able to see the example of someone as steadfast as Snow White's Prince, who continues to look for her for seasons even when she seems lost to him, is something that is refreshing and healthy.
They each go about showcasing this notion in different ways. Snow White is an orphan with no one in the world that loves her, and her wish in the well is very clear. "I'm dreaming of the nice things he'll say." Before it can echo back to her, she finds him- the literal answer to her hopes and dreams. That's so empowering to me? That she believed she was enough and wanted better for herself, and knew what she wanted, and that his existence was contingent upon her wish in the well. It's a young, sweet romance- that's so pure. When he sings of his love being "constant and true," we see it in the film, as he continues to search for her until the very end and which lends credence to Snow White singing "Someday My Prince Will Come." She doesn't stress over whether they will ever see one another, because despite the time or distance that might separate them, they're never lost to one another. That's why she tells the hag, "Well, there is someone" when she's asked if that's someone she loves.
Cinderella and Charming's love is also different- neither of them were looking for it or expected it. Cinderella never mentions wanting love, nor does Charming; to the contrary, Charming is placed in front of an endless bevy of beautiful women, decked out in the finest clothing they have, and he's unimpressed (I dare anyone to tell me that his interest in Cinderella was based on looks). Appearances mean little to nothing to him. While we listen to the Grand Duke's metatextual speech though, we see Charming spot Cinderella out from the crowd and approach her. "There she stands, the girl of his dreams. Who she is or whence she came, he knows not. Nor does he care. But his heart tells him that here, here is the maid predestined to be his bride." It's a pure vibes thing, and when you are in contact with that person you were meant for, many consider this to be a twin flame, it changes everything. That's why Charming knew he could never go back to life the way it was before the ball after Cinderella left; he couldn't live a life without her. I also think it's so fitting for them and cute that they vibed out for hours at the ball, considering Cinderella fighting so hard to go to a party so that she could enjoy herself.
Aurora and Phillip also have their unique connection. They're both extremely romantic and fantasy oriented- Phillip literally slays a dragon for Aurora's honor and promises to renounce the throne after meeting her for a single afternoon. Aurora, while she returns to the castle to fulfill her royal obligation, feels that life without him is empty and can't contemplate a life without love- it'd be like a bird without a song. While they have different temperaments and characters, I think they compliment one another beautifully and have such great chemistry that it truly does feel as though they'd met once upon a dream.
In any of these cases, if the connections were shallow or something where one forgot about the other the next day, that'd be another matter entirely. But they were all willing to fight for their love, show commitment under extreme circumstances, a unyielding devotion, and both a chemistry and a connection that was special unto each pairing and underlined a natural affinity toward one another so I don't see what's wrong with it and I lean more toward these types of relationships over the Disney ones where they just yell at one another repeatedly or resort to physical violence for comedy.

But what if Lorenzo was in ROF? Hmm? What if he was Santi's second cousin? What if I got to kiss him?
Tumblr media
(I'm so sorry)
What if???
NON CANON NON CANON NON CANON NON CANON
(This is mostly a crack fic, both The Wrong Way where Lorenzo comes from and Room's on Fire are post-apocalyptic, and ROF is not TLOU universe, there's no indication that ROF had zombies. And lets say Lorenzo and Zach aren't committed at this point. Don't think too hard on it all.)
Lorenzo was visiting his second cousin, Santiago. He heard he had a wife now and also husbands??? His side of the family was always a bit strange.
So his cousin was a cult leader! Lorenzo worked for a raider who had kidnapped a 20 year old
Well, this girl was 22 but she at least seemed to be there willingly.
"And then she'll have a child and he'll bring peace on earth." Santi explained over dinner, his wife sitting next to him. She was pretty, but Lorenzo didn't quite grasp why Santiago would want her when he had a slew of stunning men around him. At his right was his right handman, Francisco who he seemed more handsy than with his wife.
"Uh huh, right, that's crazy, man." Lorenzo wasn't really listening, he was too busy eyeing their guardsman. Jonah, he heard Will say. Older, crazy cheekbones, greying brown hair, and a cocky sway to his hips Lorenzo liked. He wondered if Jonah was gay. He'd find out.
Madonna was nodding along, looking up at her husband as he spoke and smiling. At the very least she seemed excited.
After a while, Madonna retired to her painting room to 'Allow the men some time alone', and Lorenzo and the guys went to the parlor for drinks. Francisco asked if Lorenzo smoked and when Lorenzo said yes, he gave him a blunt. The night was fun, minus Ben, Will and Santi bragging about their sexual escapades with Madonna. Lorenzo was more interested in whatever the hell was happening between the four men. Natural chemistry was radiating off Francisco and Ben, and Santi was clearly also eyeing Will, but nothing really compared to how much the focus was on Madonna. Funny, the world could end but straight relationships were still prioritized.
Leaving to go to the bathroom, Lorenzo ran into Madonna crying a tray of snacks.
When the tray fell, cheese and crackers scattering on the floor, the disappointment in her face reminded him of the young girl at his home.
"Hey" He spoke, helping her clean up. "Don't worry about it."
Unlike the girl, she didn't cry, she just seemed frustrated.
"This always happens." She mutters.
"What does?"
Madonna sighs. "I can't seem to get this right" She shakes her head.
Lorenzo was still confused. "What's this?"
She stops, knelt down at the floor with her pretty dress across her legs. "Being a wife. It hasn't really... come easily."
The girl and Madonna had similarities. Their youth, passivity, femininity, but there are differences. These things come easy to the girl, as soon as she had freedom she took care of Joel and Tommy, and even Lorenzo and Jack. "Sweetheart, you're doing great. I ran into you. Here, let's just..." He put the cheese, meat and crackers on the tray, reorganizing them with the garnish. "Bring this to them, I won't say a thing."
She looked at him hesitantly. "But, they were on the floor..."
"It's mostly the crackers on the floor, it'll be fine. Where I live, I've had to each much worse to survive. I promise they'll be okay."
Madonna looked at him, nervous but she acquiesced. "Okay... yeah, okay..."
She smiled up at him, and he smiled back. Lorenzo helped her up, straightened her dress and hair and let her go happily, excited to care for her husbands. As she walked away, a skip back in her step, Lorenzo wondered where she fit into this world. It seemed like she was almost a pawn. The four men had decades of life before her, and goddamn how many of them were sucking dick? She was only 22, how could she possibly navigate this world and complexities?
Lorenzo shook it all off. He had one young girl he had to keep alive already, he just hoped Madonna had enough people around her.
Speaking of which...
Lorenzo noticed how Jonah hovered over her, how she looked to him for reassurance. He seemed fatherly to her.
Lorenzo went to the bathroom and then went to find Jonah. He wondered, in a household of much more open sexuality, where Jonah laid on that spectrum...
**********************
Anyway IDK I just liked this
Jonah isn't necessarily gay or bi in canon, but I thought Fen would enjoy the idea of them fucking
I LOVE YOU FEN!!!!!

*climbs onto the driftwood with you* that hugging doodle is so cute???? My heart
Venom's hug looks so comfy??? He's so cute??? The hearts??? I really like the two-colour lines (did not realize the venom design was your own but holy that made it even more impressive???)
Miguel is such a loveable grumpy cat, and its so refreshing to see him be the smaller one in a ship.
Admittedly I mainly watch the movies and only a few comics, but Venom has a ranking system??? Eddie is the only one to get full stars???? Thats. Thats true love right there. Also whats this about Eddie being in charge of a whole venom-society?? Did not know about that (also hard to imagine) but feel free to talk about it. Imagine Miguel and Eddie bonding over being the de facto leader (leading the spiders must be a lot harder than leading the symbiote hivemind)
My Venom design is mostly inspired by the '94 Spiderman the animated series Venom, Ivan Fiorelli, Rian Gonzales, Gurihiru and overall orcas in general.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
If I were to describe my design rules for Venom he'd have a big bulky body with stylized proportions, an orca styled face with a bigger lower jaw to fit more then 1 row of teeth, and his color is a solid black with bright colorful pencil textured highlights.
I have this headcanon Miguel might have discomfort in his current height, according to the wiki he's 5'10 but in ATSV he's 6'9 so I wonder if he ever misses being his old height. Like there's not that many ppl that exists that can fully envelop him a hug and make him feel comforted. Plus I can imagine how often he needs to remember to duck under a doorway or else he'll bonk his forehead, or when he's at a hotel and the showerhead is like at his chin level.
Oh that makes me happy to hear, my first intro to Venom was the infamous '07 Spiderman 3 movie, so I'm glad to hear new fans get this fun intro to this character via the 2018 Venom movie. While I've been a lowkey fan of Venom I didn't do a full deep dive into his comics until 2021 with the comic Venom Verse as the first one. I've read a ton but I haven't read any of the early issues since those comics are v outdated by now and some of the info might have been retconned/rewritten. I'd recommend finding a reading list if you'd like to read more self contained stories or a full saga line of connected stories. Feel free to pick/choose what comics you consider as canon or not, cause not all comics are great and sometimes one doesn't like a specific writer for a run 🤷‍♀️
The ranking system is a compatibility rank it's seen in Venom: The End (A warning there is body horror/ imagery of Eddie withering away which made me uncomfy so I'm letting you know) I didn't much care for the plot of that comic but I do enjoy this ranking system as it shows Venom's preference when it comes to hosts. He sees most hosts as pretty good but Eddie is the perfect host according to him u wu 💕
Tumblr media
As for Eddie being the head of the symbiote hivemind it's seen in the aftermath of the MASSIVE King in Black saga. After defeating the old head/creator of symbiotes Knull ,Eddie takes his role as the head. It's moreso a hivemind where he can control of any symbiote with consent and can communicate across all of them no matter where they are. However this does strain his physical body and he ages quickly and he dies via explosion. Venom is currently with his son Dylan atm while Eddie is in some sort of space/time limbo. I did fall off a bit on my reading towards the newer comics so here's where my knowledge on this run ends. I'd find pics but I'm feeling lazy rn
Miguel def has a tough job as he has to manage all these different versions of Spiderman and maintain the multiverse on top of making sure none glitch out of existence if those bands get messed up. He can't just up and leave he feels personally responsible due to his past actions. Eddie at this point is like in charge of running the universe but he's stuck in that position he can't quit or else the cosmos ends and he'll be replaced by another King in Black. They explain no matter what Eddie will always end up here someway or another.
Miguel is bound by his sense of duty, his responsibility to ensure the another universe will not end in the same way like his daughter's did. Eddie is bound by The Eventuality, he will always end up as the next King in Black even though he knows he can not handle it. To me it sounds like a lonely and stressful existence to be such a position of power yet they don't have the power to just go home and live a peaceful life with their loved ones like everyone else.

not even gonna touch the cheater alec debacle
this chapter was so good! so many things to get into, let’s see
it’s saddening to see how dampening the mallory situation became. magnus and max both went on anti depressants, alec’s not doing well either. max is mostly catatonic and can’t even take care of his kids properly. contrasting that with the present, or even just with chapter 1, and it’s awesome to see how much stronger the family has gotten and how alec’s choice kinda did work to give max his motivation back.
max still very clearly caring about david despite being deeply depressed 🥺
after this chapter, i have to (very) reluctantly agree with alec’s choice. max is a much bigger person than me, i would’ve been at least a little pissed when i found out, even if it had been 13 years
alec tucking david into bed and thinking of david as his son made me incredibly heartbroken 💔 alec still deeply cares, even if he shows it differently
david not knowing the house was under his name‼️‼️‼‼️ honestly didn’t see that coming but it fits perfectly with max’s character
max still wearing david’s shirt after years. i need this slow burn to move a little faster, i beg. and yes, it is gay to get a tattoo for the man that divorced you
lance blackmailing alec just like his father from another universe 🥰
alec telling lance that max was pissed and cussed him out, and lance consoling him 🤭falls in line with alec telling david he was chill about magnus being a script consultant. the light wood-babes are all a bunch of dramatic little shits (affectionately). especially alec.
nicotine nightmare is now a phrase i will be using
last thing, david really wants max to hate him, huh? please correct me if i’m wrong, but it’s because he didn’t want to tell max about what mallory really did. and david wanted to heal before getting back with max. but to do that, he needs distance from max and max really doesn’t want to give david any distance. so david thought the only way to get that distance was by making max hate him. is that right?
another lovely chapter as always, have a great day and i hope your laptop battery problem can get fixed soon :)
ps: something about max’s upcoming work trip to mexico isn’t sitting right with me. please don’t let him run into any trouble 🙏
*pats you on the head* smart girl
The reason why Alec did what he did will make even more sense in the next chapter :(
Max >>>
Max's reaction Alec's secret is one of the ultimate examples of how much things (including him) have changed since the divorce.
Alec and David is an underrated brotp yall can fight me
MAX >>>>
the gray t-shirt 🥰
Lance: my papa is an asshole. Readers: buddy we have something to tell you...
lightwood-banes love drama. it's common knowledge.
hehe as you should
Your theory is correct. In the original plot, we see Max repeatedly coming to see David and begging to get back together. Like calling him all the time and hanging outside his apartment etc. I changed it because I couldn't see Max doing all that while also being depressed. but that's why we saw that one tiny scene of Max seeking out David even in his depressed state. also, in the original script, David (because of what i just explained) tries to get a restraining order against Max (which means Max legally can't come close to David) and alec finds out and he is like 'bitch wtf' and David decides to do the 'i'll take the kids so he'll hate me and never come near me' thing. i scrapped all of it because the current plot worked out just fine without all this additional drama. but yeah, to sum it up, David it did so Max would stop 'loving' him and David can have space to heal.
Thank you, baby. Getting the laptop sorted today :)
ps - you picked up on the Mexico thing huh?
*pats your head again* smart girl indeed

This is the Buddy for October 13th. It's looking kinda sketchy. It's funny, I've been drawing for a long time, now, and this sketch still looks a lot like the type of drawings I'd make when I was like 12. I remember I had an idea for a comic, something pretty simple, about a girl named Penny who discovered a sort of wainscot society of people living in abandoned subway tunnels. It was one of those things where the story was simple because it was a "classic" and all the style would come from the way the stories were told. I drew the first page and it wasn't too different from this, but I must've destroyed it in a fit of shame a few years later.
Today's Buddy could be conseidered a sequel to the Buddy for May 17th. I know a lot of people dislike sequels in movies and books and stuff, because they think the sequels are proof writers are out of ideas. And it's funny since the writers must also be annoyed that they're stuck writing sequels because that's what people want, when they have a bunch of new ideas they want to try.
Like how Arthur Conan Doyle was sick of writing Sherlock Holmes stories.
I think there's a kernel of truth to both sides of the argument. On one hand, being able to write a good sequel, even (or especially) if there wasn't one planned, is a skill some writers have, and it takes a lot of creativity and intelligence. And it's also a challenge to a writer's limitations. I know some writers are so hacky, they're unable to concieve of a story that isn't supported by a handful of cliches - characters should be young, competitive and have romantic interest punctuated by arguments with other characters. Then, when the story ends, they get married. You ask that guy to write a sequel, he'll be completely lost - how is he supposed to write about a married couple? Once the story's over, the characters don't exist anymore. Can you imagine if Superman was happily married to Lois Lane? Who would he try to hide his secret identity from?
That's why sometimes, a fresh take on a sequel is so interesting. Because it's sailing through uncharted territory. And that's why so many great stories are "sequels", if not to the letter, at least in the way they build from a previous culture of storytelling concepts.
One example I have in mind is the more recent seasons of Stranger Things - that's a show that, for better of for worse, is built upon stangnated tropes of eighties bike-riding childhood adventures and evil corporations' secret experiments. Then came the sequels and the show went off in different directions, it managed to build up drama from new stories, logical consequences of early cliches. And it even let the characters evolved into different iconic elements. By virtue of its success, Stranger Things managed to go from an homage to old movies to an unique universe. And, despite the show's annoying flaws, that's always interesting to see.
On the other hand, that show is in the minority. Most sequels fall between the two flaws of just repeating the original's beats to decreasing results, or moving away from it directionlessly and hope fans are still interested because the characters are recognizable even if the story no longer makes sense. Some writers are good at original stuff and suck at sequels. That doesn't necessarily mean they're bad writers.

I recently became extremely interested in Saturn's rings for whatever reason and it got me thinking, what's a topic the skellies would love to infodump about and how would they react to an S/O doing the same?
Macaw- Space, and programming stuff. People tend to like space more though so he leans towards that. He'd listen, eyelights for once turning into a different shape- stars in this case.
Lupo- Puzzle history of the Underground, and the different parts of cars and how they fit together. He'd sigh happily as he listens to his mate infodump.
Falcon- It takes a bit, but he'll ramble about MATH. He loves matha nd numbers and how 'they're the universal language'. He'd try to listen in return, but he also wants to hold them and snuggle and grope~
Jackal- The importance of a uhm... Healthy bedroom life. As for when his mate infodumps? He's writing it down, he wants to learn as much as he can from them.
Jay- Sparring and fighting stuff, mainly his HEROIC battles. He tries to listen in return, but has a nasty interrupting habit.
Fox- Bees and honey, but its all softly spoken like he doubts anyone wants to hear it. But he'll listen closely to his mate's words. He says he's way better at listening than talking.
Crow- Also claims to be a better listener than talker. And he listens with soft sighs and heart eyelights. But if you can get him on a topic (besides how much he hates Jay/his old AU) he'd talk about dolls clothes. Different patterns and such.
Hound- He's a tough one to crack. Like Crow and Fox, he'll listen all the time. But if anyone asked him about his MATE? Oh he'd go on for HOURS on how much he loves them~
Vulture- Talking isn't hard for him, but keeping his thoughts in order is. But if his mate starts to infodump, he's writing it down so he can't forget.
Hyena- Proper weapon care! And hunting! And of COURSE he'd listen with rapt attention. The staring might get to be a bit much.
Robin- How great he is and how many souls he's consumed. He ain't listening 🙄
Dingo- Talking that much hurts, so even if he wanted he'd prefer to listen. Tail wagging, mate on his lap and snuggled as they ramble.

About Kris being the Knight and Asriel's role in the final battle
An interesting thing about Deltarune is how roles seem to be somehow swapped in relation to Undertale. Alphys is still related to science, what with being a teacher and all, Undyne is still related to the role of a guardian and keeping people safe in general, Asgore still loves gardens and is a fluffybun, despite Toriel FINALLY getting her role as a teacher, she is still the protective mother figure...
Everyone is still in their "original roles", only slightly swapped to fit Deltarune's new reality. And the same reasoning can be applied to Kris and Asriel...only this time things do seem a lot more different.
In Undertale, the one creature causing all sorts of trouble in the background and setting events in motion in the game is Gaster Flowey. Yes, he's the one who whispers predictions to Papyrus, the one who warns Muffet about your arrival to Hotlands, who writes the threatening letter to Alphys and unlocks the True Lab for the player to visit, that is to say, the hidden hand behind (almost) everything, interfering with the natural flow of the game to make sure they get things to evolve according to HIS way and try to beat the Player's Determination, which is supposed to be unbeatable.
So he's the agent warping the world according to his will and playing the role of a villain.
In Deltarune, who is now playing that role? Who is setting events in motion and causing trouble to our heroes - Susie, Berdly, Noelle, etc - behind the scenes?
That's right. Asriel's best friend from Undertale, now given a new identity. None other than Kris.
Which makes me think the prophesized saviour in the Darkner's tale won't be Kris -who has readily been identified as the Villain -... but possibly Asriel upon their return.
Doesn't Asriel turn into an Angel when summoning the seven SOULS? This hints at him being the prophesized Angel and a being capable of great destruction...or in DR's case, of miraculous deeds, such as being the only one capable of wielding formidable power and becoming the true Saviour of the World.
It's quite possible that, should Kris opt to follow the Genocide route or fail to prevent a Darkner from stealing a human SOUL and traveling to the Light World, he'll accidentally create a Titan and unleash the Roaring in the process. Asriel then returns from college in the seventh day to find his home town destroyed and everything covered in Darkness. Should Kris lose his friends because he chose Genocide, Asriel becomes the hero that fights him and "banishes the Angel's Heaven" (that part of the prophecy still doesn't make any sense). But should Kris follow the pacifist path, Asriel may team up with him to help defeat the Titan.
There's also the possibility that Asriel may have to fight his brother if Kris decides he wants the Light World to remain covered in Darkness and Asriel must fight him alongside Susie and the others to defeat the Knight so that they may bring down the Titans.
Of course, there are many more possibilities for how the story will go down. It might be another Lightner that becomes the Knight, such as Berdly or Susie - or even all our heroes may opt to open fountains and doom the Light World -, but for now, Kris is still the likely candidate to become the Knight and the Final Boss in the game. People may speculate Susie will then assume the role of the hero, but if we are considering Deltarune and Undertale to be mirror universes, then Susie isn't the Knight's antithesis, since she's absent from Undertale. That role is more suited to Asriel, who has a deep, strong connection to The (Fallen) Human, a connection usually fully revealed at the end of the game. While The Human is the Hero and Asriel is the Villain in UT, in DR their roles might be swapped. Let's wait and see.
With that said, I'd like to remind you this is all mere speculation and the truth is still a long ways to be revealed. Let us hope Chapters 3 and 4 will bring some answers and help us make sense of UT and DR's strange universe.

Obligatory hxh Kite headcanon dump because the brainrot is strong part 1 of ??
About half a year of obsessing over him and I have culminated so many hyperspecific and useless hcs for Kaito that I can't fit them all into a 500 page fic about him so now y'all have to deal with it. And please bully me off this hellsite so I can go and finish it.
I'm just writing these off the top of my head so they're in no particular order but this post is gonna be mostly about his childhood so it's gonna be a bit sad! Buckle up!
(Also I'm listening to Bullets by Archive which just. goddammit it makes me think of him and it's breaking me. Definitely give it a listen and you'll see what I mean.)
He isn't sure of his exact date of birth, but guesses he's about 26/27
Although nobody would take him as being that young. Everyone assumes he's in his mid-thirties and he doesn't tend to correct people about that.
It's not that he looks old, per se, more so that he has a certain type of weariness that seems beyond his age. Killua still calls him old man though.
On his ID, his birthday is listed as the first of January, which was automatically assigned to him. He does not celebrate his birthday.
(fanon) Hisoka swears Kite's an Aquarius and has attempted to reverse engineer his birthday through his zodiac chart.
Again, has no idea where he was born, but used to think he was born somewhere in East Yorbia since he had spent most of his childhood there (I imagine it to be the hxh universe equivalent eastern Europe.)
Kite is not his birthname. He had none- that he was aware of, at least- and he chose it himself around the age of 7/8. (From actual Kites. More specifically, easter Kites that are flown in some regions in honor of Christ's resurrection. He liked how free they seemed, how if untethered, one could fly worlds away and never touch the ground.)
Before that, he was given different names by caretakers in orphanages, all of which he cast aside as not my name. They didn't belong.
It may have stemmed from a comment made very early in his life by a particularly cruel caretaker who said: Your mother didn't even bother to name you. Leaving you by the dumpster was the best choice she made and you should have stayed there. It may not have been true at all, but it stuck with him.
Was a very restless and semi-feral child. Used to run away from orphanages for no reason other than the fact that he could.
Never got adopted (Well, at least through legal channels)
His first newsboy cap was given to him by his adoptive parent and became a staple of his wardrobe. Years later, he still keeps that original blue hat.
In another life, he would have either been a veterinarian, a park ranger or an astronomer.
Has never had formal education, but is very well-read. Not to mention trained by (allegedly) one of the smartest men alive.
During their travels with Ging, he would get as many second-hand books that could fit in his bag, read them all and pawn them off at the next town, repeating the cycle.
Still, his knowledge has weird gaps. Can and will go on hours long tangents on how industrial waste disposals are contributing to irreparable damage to the ecosystem in painstaking detail, yet when Gon asks for his help with his physics homework he has smoke coming out of his ears.
"Hey Kaito, how do I calculate initial velocity here?" *windows error sound*
Isn't a polyglot like Ging, but has great linguistic knowledge. Can get the hang of languages in a few days and speak enough of it to find his way around nearly anywhere.
(So everyone in the hxh universe seems to speak one universal language, but we've seen that accents do exist) The best way to describe his accent would be 'generic'. He never picked up the East Yorbian accent as a kid, and as an adult his accent became even more indistinct. Although he'll translate phrases and idioms from other languages and drop them in daily conversations, confusing everyone.
His nose has broken at least once, and thus is crooked. (And very boopable.)
So are two fingers on his left hand. Let's say he doesn't have fond memories of getting caught pickpocketing.
He's quite vain about his hair and takes great pride in it.
Doesn't remember his hair being shorter than shoulder length.
After becoming Ging's student and gaining access to means to take care of his hair, he was surprised to find out his hair was slightly wavy. Although the longer it gets, it loses its texture and becomes straighter.
Ging never stopped pestering him about getting a haircut. He sees long hair as 'impractical', but if Kite's one thing, it's stubborn.
Has never let a hairstylist near his hair. Remember that Greed Island NPC in Ai Ai that complimented Bisky's hair? He punched that NPC because he HATES people touching his hair.
In fact, as much as he likes getting compliments on his hair, he dreads it because it's normally accompanied by strangers touching his hair without permission (ahaha I'm not projecting onto him at all ahaha /s)
In fact, if he lets someone do his hair it means he really likes them (Looking at you, Wing)
And that's about it for today! If you liked this mess of a post, good news! I have more! If you did not, lmao too bad because I'm going to post more. Do you agree with my hcs? disagree? Lets talk about it!

Chapter 12
Family isn't always blood
Alec looked at his Parabatai then to his sister then to him again and sighed heavily before speaking. "Because there is something I want to talk about which needs all of your presence."
"Excuse me!?" Jace exclaimed, "Alec, I can feel your nervousness, what is going on? You're making me scared buddy, we almost lost yo-"
"Jace, calm down. I'll tell you when everyone will be here, and it's nothing bad, okay?"
Even after the reassurance, Jace was still not convinced. He could feel how scared and nervous Alec was through their bond. There were so many probabilities running through his mind, minding that Magnus wasn't there with him when that man never leaves his brother alone.
"Jace, stop. I can literally feel you getting stressed up, I told you, Jace, it's nothing, just... wait for a while."
Jace sighed and nodded. He had met his Parabatai, his brother after a long time, and making him upset or angry was the last thing he wanted. "Sorry Alec, but really, you told Izzy that you're coming but not me? Seriously? Am I not important to you anymore?" he dramatically put his hand over his chest. "You have hurt me, dude."
Alec rolled his eyes. "Stop being overdramatic, Jace. Besides, the look on your face told me that it was worth it."
"Boyzzz!" Izzy interrupted, shaking her head at her brothers for their silliness. "So, big brother, whom do you want to meet first, Clary or Simon?" Out of everyone, Izzy knew really well that Alec considers them family now, remembering the fact that he admitted it when she and Simon visited him.
"It's been long I've seen nugget in training mode. I would like to see her training and meanwhile, tell Simon to come here, I want to talk to you both privately before talking to everyone else."
"What the hell!? Alec, First, stop giving my girlfriend these stupid nicknames, and second what are you guys are up to?"
"Jace, stop." Izzy spoke firmly, "Don't bombard our brother with questions, he just arrived. And, besides, I want to see how Clary's doing so can we move now?"
"Fine, let's go." Jace sighed, and they left for the training room.
While heading towards the training room, Alec didn't miss the changes that had been made at the Institute, especially the weapons room. He knew he made the right decision to make his sister the Head of the Institute when he accepted the post of Inquisitor at Alicante, and she's doing a brilliant job. He couldn't help but feel proud of his sister.
It's been around an hour since Clary started her training, her hair was tied up in a ponytail, she was wearing a perfectly fitted navy blue sports bra with red stripes on it, the back having cross straps with blue-grey yoga pants and red and blue colored sports shoes. Her hands were wrapped in boxing bandages, blowing punches and kicks to the punching bag, which had now started to tear.
"Slow down Parabatai, looks like you're having a bad day, or did you not get it last night, huh?" Izzy teased as she walked towards her soon-to-be Parabatai, a smirk playing on her face, and Jace's face flushed.
"Izzy, Hey!" Clary greeted then held the towel that Izzy offered her. "And to answer your question, both. Bad day because Jace was being an idiot last night, and this morning too." She said, making Izzy burst into laughter.
"Really Clary, discussing our sex life with my sister!? Not appreciated!" Jace said as he walked in.
"She's my best friend, Herondale. I can discuss whatever I want." Clary shrugged and snatched the water bottle that he offered her.
"Oops! Looks like someone screwed up badly." Izzy said while suppressing her laugh, earning a glare from Jace.
Clary almost choked on the water she was drinking and dropped the bottle on the floor in the process when her eyes fell on the third person present in that room, standing by the door frame.
"ALEC!"
"Hello, Carrot!" Alec walked in and laughed when she literally jumped on him. "Get down, carrot, you're drenched in sweat."
"Really! Carrot, Carrot!? Seriously, Alec, I told you to stop giving her names, don't you-"
"I find it cute," Clary said, interrupting her boyfriend and making him dumbfounded. "Alec, when did you come? And where's Magnus?" She asked when her excitement died down and was back on her feet.
"Just now, and Magnus didn't come, I had some work."
"Okay, now I'm jealous, what had Simon done, big brother? Jace? Why do you both treat him like that?" Izzy pouted.
"I like him, but that vampire gets under my skin sometimes. No offense, Izzy." Jace said flatly.
"Izzy, Simon had done nothing, you know I like him, I just don't feel like being like that around him. There's nothing else." Alec reassured, making her sigh.
Izzy's phone buzzed, breaking their chain of conversation. She picked it up to check the message. "It's Si, he'll be here in some time. Your room or my office?" She asked.
"In my room," Alec answered while Jace and Clary kept glancing between the siblings. "I'll tell you both later."
Clary nodded. "I'm going to get a shower, see you later, Alec." With that, she picked up her stuff and left the hall.
"Wait, Clary! Excuse me!" Jace said hurried after his girlfriend leaving the other two laughing at their situation.
"It's good to have her back, you know," Izzy said when they both left the room. "Jace is a different person now, and happier too."
"I know. I can feel it. I'm happy for him, he deserves this. Looking back at how broken he was 3 years ago, I'm really happy that Clary got her memories back. They didn't deserve what happened 5 years ago."
"What's wrong!?" She asked when she noticed an unknown expression clouding her brother's face.
"Izzy, promise me you won't tell Jace what I'm about to say, else I won't hear the end of it."
Izzy raised her brow but eventually nodded.
"You know how much I used to hate Clary when she first came into our lives, she's still annoying, but looking at her now, at them, they are meant for each other, they complete each other. And I'm really happy that they found each other, all over again." He said, having a bright smile on his face.
"You're right, big brother. Jace will never stop teasing you if he'll hear what you just said. And, I agree, they are meant for each other."
Clary came back to their lives almost two and a half years ago. It took her almost a year and a half after meeting Jace at her painting exhibition to regain her memories of the shadow world. When she remembered Jace at the alley of the building where her exhibition was held, Jace frequented their meetings in the hope that she'd remember everything but hid it from everyone else. That was until Simon found out and confronted him, in the process bumping into her becoming the second person she remembered.
Clary always had an empty space in her heart, a void, which kept telling her that something was missing. That was until she met Jace, and she knew that she knew him from somewhere. There were bits and pieces in her mind of a club, bike riding, or some similar events, but they were never complete.
When both boys told everyone about Clary, it was Magnus who advised them to take things slow and not rush her memories. She met everyone, remembered them one by one, Luke being the third one, then Jocelyn, followed by the incomplete memory of her death, which resulted in regaining her memories at a great pace.
What broke the floodgates of her memories was when Jace and Clary were returning from their date, and they were attacked by a shapeshifting demon, which Clary killed with complete ease, shocked at first, but the sudden appearance and disappearance of her runes made her remember that she's a Shadowhunter.
The most beautiful thing which happened between all this was Clary fell in love with Jace all over again, oblivious about their past and Jace's feelings, making him the happiest person in the universe.
When she remembered everything, and stepped into the institute once again, and got all her runes back, she was visited by her mother's soul once again telling her that the Angels had forgiven her, she still has her extra share of powers, but she needs to be careful this time and not repeat the mistakes she made in the past. From that time on she became a completely new person. Better than before, more fierce, stronger, but still stubborn, annoying, and irritating at times.
The most epic thing to happen was Alec and Clary's relationship. From hating each other to frenemies to friends to a weird brother-sister relationship, they came a long way. The bitter comments Alec used to make about her were now more of teasing and mocking in a good way. They had started understanding each other, making everyone around them shocked with their bonding.
***************************
Simon was already pacing in Alec's room when Izzy and Alec entered, making Alec sigh out of frustration. "Stop digging holes in my carpet, Lewis," Alec commented.
"Really!?"
"Boys!" Izzy shook her head. "I can't with you people!" She mumbled, then turned towards her brother. "So, what did you find Alec?"
"Everything!" He answered and explained to them the complete process of becoming immortal. When he was done both of their faces were filled with shock and astonishment.
"So, you have to drink Fray's blood and ask her to talk to Angel Ithuriel on your behalf, that's... interesting. Do you think she'll agree?" Simon asked curiously.
"That we'll see. Are you both okay with this?" Alec asked hesitantly.
Simon and Izzy exchanged a look. "Of course we are, big brother. I'm really happy for you." She hugged her brother tightly. Alec looked at Simon who nodded and smiled at him, he smiled back and mouthed thank you to him.
They broke their hug and Alec sighed with relief. "I'm glad to have your support, but, Izzy, I need advice, I'm confused."
"What is it?"
"Should I wait for everyone to arrive and talk to them tonight altogether, or I'll talk to everyone privately? I don't know how everyone's gonna react, especially Jace and Clary."
Izzy didn't know what to say to that. She looked at Simon than at her brother, trying to form words when Simon broke the silence.
"Um... I don't know what you think, Iz, but I think you should talk to everyone privately, talking to everyone at the same time would mean too many emotions in one place when you don't know how will everyone react which can become uneasy for you. But it's completely up to you." He said carefully.
"I think you're right Simon, thank you. It might take time, but I'll get a fair amount of time with everyone. And I think I'm going to make Jace and Clary wait for the last." He said with a chuckle.
"Now, Izzy, till the time mom and Luke arrive, why don't you and Clary show me what I've asked for!?" He asked with a wide smile.
Simon had a confused expression from his question, making Alec chuckle with the realization that neither of the women had told anyone about the gifts he had asked them to help him make for Magnus.
"Come on then, big brother. It's in Clary's room." She wrapped her arm around her brother's, dropped the silencing rune, and walked towards Jace and Clary's shared room. When they were near their room they heard loud arguments coming from their room making them exchange looks.
"Can we come in Fray? Or are you both going to continue with whatever you were arguing about?" Simon asked while suppressing his laugh, earning a flying pillow from Clary, which he dodged successfully, making Alec and Izzy burst with laughter, and Jace completely embarrassed.
"Are you people done?" Alec asked.
Clary cleared her throat and steadied herself. "Yeah, come in."
"Are you still working on it, or is it completed? Alec wants to see it." Izzy said the excitement was clearly visible in her voice.
"Oh, are you sure Alec? It's not completed yet."
"Completed or not, I want to see both of your's!"
"Okay, it's in my art room."
"Art room?" "What the hell is going on!?" Alec and Jace said at the same time.
Jace was carefully listening to their conversation, making a frown appear on his forehead. He looked at Simon who was mirroring his confused expressions, but no one else, making his nerves rise.
Alec sighed. "Izzy and Clary, may I know why you both kept it hidden from them?" He waved towards Simon and Jace.
"We thought it would be nice to surprise them too, we want to see their expressions when it's done," Izzy said.
Jace and Simon exchanged a look, Jace was about to say something when Alec raised his hand to shut him up. He shook his head in disbelief. "I didn't get my answer, Art room?"
"Oh, my old room, now that I share the room with Jace, I converted that to my personal Art room. Are you really sure, Alec?"
"Yes, and anyways I want it completed before I leave for Alicante."
"Are you sure, big brother? Will you be able to hide from Magnus for that long?" Izzy raised her brow at him.
"Alec, if this makes you relieved, I got permission from Angels to use the portal rune as a permanent rune for me, and anyways I and Izzy are gonna portal to the lakeside to complete all the decorations you've asked for. You can meet us there and take the gifts from us." Clary said.
Alec looked at Clary in disbelief. "You got permission? That's something. Okay then, take your time, but it should be completed by Wednesday."
"We're almost done, big brother. Don't worry!"
*************
They all walked towards Clary's Art room, Alec was way too excited to see what they've done. Clary opens the door, which was filled with the scent of fresh colors, different shapes of brushes were spread in the whole room and a bunch of them were kept in a pen stand with several watercolor bottles and charcoal pencils on a wooden table in the corner of the room. There were different shapes of canvases filled in the whole room.
Clary went forward and removed a red-colored cloth that was covering a medium-sized canvas, only to reveal 3 frame-sized paintings pinned on the canvas, the 4th one was ongoing and one was empty. Alec's jaw fell on the ground seeing them.
"You... you're painting them!?"
"You like it?" Clary asked nervously, biting her nails, and looked at Izzy.
Alec went forward and traced his fingers over the painting of their wedding, both in tuxedos, holding hands, a look of pure happiness on their faces. "Put this in the center, and frame them properly. Magnus is going to love it. And I do too. Thank you, redhead!"
Clary sighed with relief and nodded with a warm smile.
"What the he-"
"Wow, these are beautiful Fray, so that's not the only surprise you're planning for Magnus? It's so lovely!"
"Yes, there's more Simon. I told you and Izzy alre-"
"What is going on!? And why am I the only one who doesn't know anything!?" Jace yelled.
Alec sighed for the billionth time that day. "Jace, are you really not getting it, or are you seriously not remembering!?"
Every eyes were on Jace now. "Remember wha... oh shit!" He gulped when he realized the paintings were from Alec's wedding to all of their following anniversaries. And it's his brother's anniversary next week.
"Sorry, Alec. I forgot about your anniversary. So, that's why Magnus is not here, you're planning a surprise, huh?" He said teasingly knowing that his brother is bad with surprises.
Alec rolled his eyes and smacked Jace on the back of his head, earning a whiney 'Ow' from him while others burst into laughter. "So, Izzy!?"
"It's in the weapons room, come on!"
*********************
They were all in the weapons room, Izzy had vacated the room for some time, and they were the only five present there. She went towards the right side rack, opened the second last drawer and took out a black-colored box, and walked towards the center table where everyone was standing.
"Big brother, it's yet to be completed. The whole engraving is remaining, you sure!?"
"Engraving?" Others said in unison.
"Yes, Izzy! Just show me whatever is done!"
Izzy opened the box to reveal a set of 3 diamond rings, sitting on fake fingers, two on the base and one in the middle of the finger, each connected with silver chains having tiny emeralds covering the whole chain. It was a really beautiful ring. There was a bundle of diamond cuts sitting on the base of the box.
Everyone's jaws were dropped on the floor. The ring was shining brightly in the dullness of the room.
"Why extra diamonds?" Clary asked curiously.
"These are going to be fixed on the engraving. Alec, thoughts?" She asked, her voice filled with nervousness and excitement.
"Wow! I... I'm speechless. You did a great job, Izzy. Magnus is definitely going to fall in love with it."
"I already am," Clary confessed. Her eyes were shining with the lights the diamond ring was emitting.
"I didn't know my girlfriend was this talented!" Simon said. He and Jace were completely dumbfounded.
They all got out of their trance with a loud squeal Izzy made, way too excited and proud of her work. They all exchanged a look and shook their heads at her.
Before Izzy could say, her phone buzzed and her expressions went from excited to soft.
"What?" Alec asked.
"Mom and Luke are here, you're ready, Alec?"
Alec sighed. "Let's get this over with!"

2gether Rewatch ep 1:
I forgot that it starts out with Tine narrating for a bit.
Tine telling his friends about Green and how Green said he'll make Tine change his mind about liking guys
And his friends' immediate responses being Team Green! Is actually super realistic friend group dynamic teasing and I love it.
Tine RUNNING AWAY from Green KILLS me every time!!
And he runs directly to his friends, "Guess who I saw this morning!" 😂 I love their friend group.
Green handing toilet paper to Tine in the bathroom....... Yeah........
Did Green pursue P'Dim like this too? And it worked?? Or did P'Dim pursue Green?? Gosh, now I want like a prequel story for them.
Tine's friends saying he needs to start playing hard ball and then joking about football and baseball 😂👍
Tine's friends dressing up to scare Green! And one's holding a TOILET SCRUB BRUSH! HOW does someone even come up with that!?? It's brilliant!???
"I've taken a few boxing classes." Tine looking absolutely terrified: "Not just a few O.O" (poor bunny :()
Green's skinny jeans are so tight, but like 👌 nice
Green does not strike me as a fickle person. Did he really like Tine? I think he did, but like, what about P'Dim? Part of me feels like he just used Tine to make P'Dim jealous, which is awful and in no way helps Tine's low self esteem.
What's annoying is that Tine does straight up, honestly, and kindly tell Green he's not interested. Green just reads into everything and twists the truth. And won't listen to Tine.
He takes advantage of Tine's kindness and inability to tell him a harsh no, stop. Tine doesn't absolutely, concretely refuse Green and somehow that leaves just enough wiggle room for Green to squeeze in and manipulate the situation.
😂 I forgot about Tine's run when he escapes Green to get drinks 😂😂😂👌 it's the best thing ever. I love him so much. It's such a great little run!!
I think it's interesting that Tine acts happy/drunk from that drug and not just sleepy/dead tired.
Tine's favorite song is Together. Hmm. How fitting.
Poor Tine. Green immediately forgets to hold him up and drops him!
Okay. I can kind of understand the logic of "a fake girlfriend didn't work. Maybe a fake boyfriend will." Because Green is convinced he can change Tine, but what if Tine does admit to liking guys but it's not for Green? Then Green would be forced to acknowledge that Tine isn't rejecting him because he's a guy but because he's genuinely not interested in Green.
I think it's funny that they just had to shoot for the best of the best guy though 😂 why not just someone decently attractive? It worked out brilliantly for them though. The lucky b*stards.
Their little bulletin with a drawn portrait with no likeness at all to Sarawat with a question mark over the face 😂😂😂 and the sticky notes. Very professional detective work y'all are doing over there.
You know what's really weird. When I started watching 2gether, I had no idea who Toptap was but I knew Tine had a brother so I kept wondering who was the brother in the show during ep 1. Now I know who Toptap is and recognize him and I know that Type isn't even introduced as a character until several episodes later. But that was weird to realize because it means that since episode 1 was released I've watched multiple shows with Toptap in them. (Water Boyy, 3 will be free, rewatched love sick)
Sarawat is awesome. He's such a killer. 😂 And his friends are so great!! Gunsmile and Mike. *Chef's kiss*
The cast for this show is perfection. I love all of them. They're all amazing and hilarious and adorable AND amazing actors.
Posting a fake schedule for Sarawat was so smart! Too bad Tine and his friends kinda blew it for him.
Tine's friend Ohm (JJ) said he has a spy that said the schedule is a fake. Who's his spy???
Love the guitar music as Tine's running to Sarawat. How the heck did he manage to get in front of all those girls? There were girls on the stairs below where he and his friends were standing.
I really want to know what Sarawat is thinking when Tine just shows up right in front of him. He and his friends just walk away without saying anything at first. Why?
Sarawat's friends' reactions to Tine calling him an asshole 😂
Tumblr media
What's super interesting to me about their first interaction is that Sarawat has been aware of and probably been watching Tine for a year. Which means he at least has some basic knowledge about Tine. Like he's kind, relaxed, cool (chill), etc. I wonder what he thought about Tine calling him an asshole. Not a great first impression, buuuuut~ it wasn't a first impression. Sarawat already knows that Tine is a good guy.
Is Sarawat just so introverted and socially stunted that he just has no idea how to interact with his crush so he's acting overly cool/cold to him?? I don't understand why he acts like that to his crush?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just don't get it.
And then we get this wide shot and I love watching Sarawat's friends' reactions because I love their perspective on everything. But their faces after Sarawat says that and walks away are so funny! And Gunsmile's little wave 😂👌 (not the greatest snapshots sorry)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Guys I just finished part 2. This is bad. This post is so long already.
I feel like Sarawat got lucky because of how stubborn Tine is. Tine's friends are like, "let's find a different target." And Tine goes, "Nah, he's difficult so I have to have him now."
Tine said "email" so now I'm thinking about him speaking English and that Win lived in the US for a year and he's only a year younger than me and how crazy would it have been if I had met him? I went to a school that had a lot of foreign students. So weird. I mean the US is huge so of course the chances are crazy small, but it's fun to think about.
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
I finally understand how Tine's email sounded like he wants to kiss/sleep with Sarawat now. Got it. I was really slow on that, wooow....
Tine's dream is 👌
Sarawat's jacket is 🤤
Fun story (cuz this post isn't long enough already): before I started watching 2gether, I read a post about Tine's dream and that Sarawat turned into Green, but I didn't know Green was a name (and there were no capital letters to indicate that) so I thought that Sarawat must've turned into like a green monster or something in Tine's dream but nope! That's not what that meant!
After that email, I wonder what Sarawat thinks of his crush now. Lol.
I just noticed this bike statue 👌 I love public artwork so much sometimes
Tumblr media
Aaaaaaaaaand now that I've noticed the statue, I also noticed
Tumblr media
That when Tine crashes into the bush, he's somehow magically back at the statue and that little roundabout.
Aw. Okay. I'll give Green one (1) point. It's sweet that he got Tine and was sitting next to him with a smelling thing for Tine to wake up.
This girl Ann is precious. She's so cute.
Tumblr media
This is the shared student number party. I'm a little confused why there are so many people there? Is it multiple student number groups meeting up?
Tine goes from 0 to 100 energy wise real quick! "I'm a chic guy. I like to act cute!" He is so cute. You all know the rest of that speech.
Oh I'm dumb! Sarawat and Tine are both new incoming freshman! Sarawat probably recognized Tine from the concert, but he probably hasn't even seen Tine since then! For some reason I was thinking they've probably had the chance to see each other around University. I'm dumb. So everything Tine is doing, Sarawat has no context for, nothing to compare it to or anything.
Tine.... Breaking the phone..... The cringe.... The secondhand embarrassment.... I'm struggling. It hurts. Oh the pain....
Okay yay!! EPISODE 1: DONE! 😄
I hope you all enjoyed my commentary even though it was very very long. 😂😘

Oc-tober day 8: Sadness
I also made an animatic which is why this took a day longer to post (cuz my video didn't wanna export ewe) Here!
Recalling my past Final Girls story posts, I mentioned Lottie befriends a girl that was a defect of the outcasts. This is Spirit. A trans gal overwhelmed by anxiety and trying to fit in. It's noticeable but I'll point it out anyways, she has a lazy eye. I love her to bits oof. Her story goes as follows.
She's been Bo's, the eventual head of the outcasts, best friend since they were children. Growing up together, he knew her by her deadname and was the only one there for her when she came out during highschool. She didn't expect to have someone on hee corner, nevermind someone as protective as him. He waa always looking out for her, making sure she appeared normal... Calling out her flaws when she didn't. All with good intentions of course, so that she could blend in better.
Blending in was her priority. It became her anxiety.
They graduated and went to the same university. They became roomates, and though they went to different departments, she would always spend her extra time at his building, hanging around his fellow classmates. He soon got a group forming that wasn't... The best.
Outcasts, they called themselves. The odd ones out. The newly marginalized. The ones that society was stepping over.
She really hid it deep inside herself what group Bo was really forming. How they looked and sounded to outsiders. Especially on a campus so diverse, they stuck out like a sore thumb.
She never got along with the other outcasts, and they never paid her much mind. She blended into the background, only watching, never engaging in their heated discussions of injustices. She was only there for her friend.
A semester in, life with Bo is going well. Beinf roommates came naturally to them, and they feel a lot closer now. A bit too close. A night without reservations, they end up having a fling. They wake up surprised, but neither runs away.
They realize they could fill each other's needs in a new way.
For now. Atleast thats what he keeps cementing. He thinks friends dating is too complicated. But fucking? Sure. No strings attached is great.
And Spirit isn't complaining. She gets a bit delusional with her expectations of the future, too sure of her place eventually changing.
When in comes a girl that takes Bo over in one clean sweep. She runs the group now. They're all over her. All the points she makes, all her plans and visions for the future. She's inspiring.
Spirit's gut sinks fast.
She never spoke out because she naively hoped Bo would let go of his prejudices. He'd been so supportive of her, afterall!
But his biases are being set in stone more and more each day. He's grown entitled and angry. And Spirit is afraid.
She can't get through anymore. Hes furious whenever she tries to make a point contradicting his world view. The night before the big plan, she gives him an ultimatum.
He calls it off or she's calling the cops.
He calms down. He tries his coaxing voice. He tells her they can talk it through and she melts like butter into his embrace.
Then he beats her. He locks her in his room. He takes her cell phone, tells her he'll let her out when they're done, and he's gone.
She's left sobbing on the floor, shame welling up for all her inaction and letting him get to this point. She was so stupid. So careless.
.... People were going to get killed.
She stops her pity party and she calculates. She breaks the doorknob. She hotwires his beat up truck. His backup pistol is still inside.
She feels this is her responsibility. She's going to make ir right.
At the scene, the bloodbath has only just begun. Victims scatter and the outcasts hunt with ammo to boot. But one of them stays behind when he notices Bo's truck.
Bo had told them Spirit wasn't up for this.
He smiled at 'her' seeming change of heart. More than the privileged minorities, he hated people like 'her.'
It starts off with the facade of friendliness. He's happy she made it. She aims the gun at him. He's surprised, but he points his shotgun back.
She wouldn't do it. She was always soft-
A shot to the shoulder. She apologizes for missing. Another to the neck. That's better. He drops down, gurgling, clutching his wounds. He's dying, and he's so fucking pissed off about it.
She doesn't have time for his show. She stomps forward, her real target in her mind.
She won't cover for his ass anymore. She's going to kill Bo.
Passing through, she knows where to find him, but it takes a while. She doesn't want to waste more bullets on the others, she only has four more, so she has to hide.
Once she finally reaches the main house, she quietly comes up the stairs and prepares. She's shaking but she's willing. This is her redemption.
A shot rings out and deafens her ears. She bursts through the door.
The girl that took over has killed Bo.
She smiles at Spirit's entrance.
"Here to pick up my sloppy seconds?"
She laughs and waves as she sits on the windowsill.
"He wasn't my type anyways."
She slips outside.
Spirit let her go.
She wasn't her target. It was Bo. And now he was done.
She feels so hollow, looking down at him. So unfinished. The four bullets in their chamber feel heavy.
She looks beside him and notices a book. One the girl had kept close to her person ever since she met her.
She picks it up. She opens it.
A scream rings.
She can still help someone.
She tucks it under her arm and walks to the source of the sound, but finds Lottie already there. Already done.
A single girl from the victims is still alive. She may be the only one. They crowd together, explaining snippets of who they are. They're on the same side. But Lottie has to go.
She leaves the survivor to Spirit's protection to take care of her own business. They find a cellphone and call the cops.
As they wait in the night, jumping at any sound, the content of the book is in the back of her mind. She saw a diagran of sorts. Looking like the symbols Christians would fear.
Before the authorities arrive, she decides to hide the book. She won't let them take it. She'll come back for it later.
Once everything is said and done and they are saved, it's thanks to Lottie and the other girl's alibis that Spirit gets to walk free. They only know of her helping, not of her one murder of the night.
Days after the investigation concludes with the death of all culprits, she returns to the scene of the crime. She gets the book. And she opens a door.
There's a way to summon back a soul, it promises. Spirit is a believer of many things. She's willing to give this a try.
The end for this part lol.

⚠️SPOILERS for bnha, and the heroes rising movie⚠️
I have rarely voiced these opinions, but I think it's about time I did.
See, there is a fine difference between ships and what is more likely to be canon, for me at least. As of right now I do not believe that bkdk will come anywhere near to being a canon romantic relationship, not only because of the type of manga/anime bnha is but also because of the development and change that would need to happen in order for it to even be possible. For the type of manga, I also believe Izuku or Katsuki being with anyone of the same sex is also out of the question. Horikoshi has put two transgender characters (and supposedly a bisexual character) in his manga, yes, but I do not see us getting anything more than that.
I am a multishipper through and through however, and I ship almost anything you can name that isn't incest, pedophilia, or abusive. Kirideku, for instance, and Todobaku as well. I like those ships, I think they're very cute and make a lot of sense. The only ships I don't like (I won't name them) I dislike purely because of the people who ship them. The way they act completely disgusts me.
But let's take a look at why BakuDeku, in my opinion, is commonly misunderstood.
I think there are a lot of misconceptions about the BakuDeku ship, and I don't say this just because I personally ship it.
Katsuki
Season 1, as soon as Katsuki was introduced I hated his guts. I couldn't stand watching him bully Izuku, let alone telling him to go and jump off of a building. I wanted to reach through the screen and punch him myself. I don't take things like that lightly, and so I thought to myself I will never like this character. Even as time went on, season 2 and all the way up to season 3, I couldn't stand him.
He was an abusive person terrified of his childhood friend becoming something that perhaps he feared that he himself could not. He's disgusting towards everyone, showing only disrespect and arrogance.
When he was kidnapped is when things started to change for me.
Not just his reaction alone-- "Deku, stay back"--but also Izuku's. Izuku is one to forgive way too easily, in my opinion, but I doubt he forgives someone if he truly doesn't think they deserve it. So for whatever reason, Izuku thinks Bakugou deserves his trust and forgiveness.
If you look at it like this-- Izuku knowing Katsuki better than anyone else, not only from his observations but as well from his up close interactions with the other. Taking this into account, maybe Izuku knows something we don't about Katsuki. We know for sure his mother was borderline abusive--as seen from that conversation with Todoroki as well as just how she treats him--, but is that all? We can't know for certain, but it seems that Izuku might.
Let's say that none of that is true, let's go ahead and say that Katauki is just what he seems to be: an arrogant prick with a superiority complex. Even so it's impossible to say that he hasn't changed at all.
Tumblr media
Take this scene for example. Just from this scene alone, from this one thing that he tells a kid he doesn't even know, you can see how much he's grown from when he was 14 years old.
This is turning into more of a Bakugou thing rather than a bkdk one, but hang in there. This is important too.
He has gone from believing that he is the best of those around him, thinking that everyone else will only get in his way, to recognizing that he has weaknesses just like everyone else. That in its self is a feat to be praised, but top that off with the realization that if he keeps putting others down he'll never see his own weaknesses and you've got one heck of a character development process. Granted, that won't be enough to make up for things he has done in his past.
So let's take a look at his past, shall we?
Raised in a home with, while loving, a push over father and a brash and aggressive mother. Whether or not she realized what she was doing, or even if she had been raised in the same way and doesn't see it as wrong, the way she yelled at him undoubtedly rooted something not short of some sort of trauma (disclaimer: I am no expert on trauma) into him. Not only that, but she probably pushed him to be better. Constantly; be better, you aren't good enough, you call that trying? So on, and so on.
Being told his entire life that his quirk is amazing, those around him letting him believe he is an undeniable leader, all of that has made him into what we see in the beginning.
Even before he got his quirk he probably thought he was better than those around him and that they also knew that, that they would follow him for protection or some sort of recognition from great power.
So, we have a 14 year old who thinks the world eats out of his hands. He sees Izuku, quirkless Izuku, as something not worth his time. Someone as great as him has no reason to play around with someone as worthless as Deku.
There is obviously the hinted at miscommunication, as shown during the Deku vs Kacchan 2 fight. The fact that apparently Katsuki sees everything Izuku does as looking down on him, mocking him, calling him weak and so on.
As a person who struggles with this, I can assure you it really is hard to tell the difference between someone genuinely wanting to help and secretly saying they don't think you can do it. Obviously I realize not everyone looks down on me, but because of the need to be independent and to prove myself to those around me, it feels like every outstretched hand is going to burn me when I grab it. Katsuki is far worse in that regard than I am, so I can only imagine how hard it is to admit to himself that someone is offering help and not mockery.
So let's say this entire time, their entire lives spent together, Katsuki has seen Izuku--someone who was quirkless--as one of the many people who doubts his abilities. Of course he's going to treat him worse than he treats others, but none of that makes it okay. None of that, any of this, erases what has been done.
That being said it does create a bridge for his redemption, for a deserved forgiveness, and yes I truly do believe he will earn that forgiveness.
It's going to take a long time for him to grow into the fact that accepting help doesn't equal to accepting defeat, and that offering it doesn't equal to the belief of weakness.
Katsuki, in my opinion, started to see his faults around the time be befriended Kirishima. Kirishima is strong, so obviously Katsuki is going to want him on his side, but there is more to it than that. I truly believe that Kirishima sparked the change in Katsuki, or at least held the match for the flame to be sparked.
Kirishima and Katsuki's friendship is what I imagine Izuku and Katsukis's might have been like if Izuku had gotten a quirk, as that is all that mattered to Katsuki. He never cared much about the person attatched to the quirk, only how it might help him. Meeting Kirishima, a person who believes everyone is strong and that they can do anything they want with the resources handed to them, must have irritated the piss out of him. Another person who seemed to think that the weak could be strong.
Being around that kind of thinking will eventually rub off on you, however. Even off onto someone like Katsuki. Especially after seeing Izuku's potential with his own two eyes.
So all of those thoughts of Izuku being a weak nobody turned instead to thoughts of Izuku being a threat to him and his goal. It's better than the first, but it really doesn't do well for them being anything other than rivals.
So, right now in his character development process? BakuDeku even being friends seems like a far off thought.
So now, let's take a look at Izuku.
Izuku
His entire life he's been told by Katsuki that he is lesser, he will amount to nothing, he's completely worthless. That never stopped him from arguing, denying, or wanting to be a hero. Finding out he has no quirk didn't stop him, and being told he might as well die didn't stop him.
Izuku is a wonderful person with a huge heart, a heart that wants to save every single person it comes across, and a heart that sees the best in everyone around it.
He went from being someone in the background, never standing out or doing extraordinary things to a person who will stop at nothing to save one single life. He no longer lingers at the sides, or fears his own abilities. He strikes with confidence in himself, in his peers, teammates, and all of those around him. He uses the hearts of those he wishes to save as a boost to help him win the day.
Meeting Iida and Uraraka, and many other amazing individuals, helped him realize that there are people who believe in him and want to see him succeed. Not everyone will treat him like Kacchan, or only see him as being in the way.
Do I believe that he had to have resented Katsuki in some way for some amount of time? Absolutely. In fact, he might still.
Him forgiving Katsuki wasn't out of the others development at all. It was out of his own achievements, his own confidence, that he was able to come past all of that negativity and believe in himself as a hero. For that reason, he was able to at least not hurt from what Katsuki done to him, if he hasn't yet forgiven him.
Sadly I don't have a lot to say about Izuku's development, or his thought process, but I do know that Katsuki has always been his image of victory, and I do now believe that he can finally see himself as his own image of victory. Or at least, more than just his tormentor.
Heroes Rising
I want to talk a little about the events of heroes rising, dispite it not being a canon part of the universe. It has been said that the movie was what Horikoshi imagined the end of bnha to be, and that is what I'm going with here.
In the movie Katsuki is still his usual superior self, treating Izuku the same as he always has. When there is no immediate danger, and even during a fight neither of them expected to walk away from. Now this may be do to Horikoshi changing it to fit more into just an alternate period of the present instead of perhaps a more time skipping version, but I am not aware of that being false nor true.
Even so, Izuku showed the same amount of care for every individual person as he always does. Katsuki on the other hand, he seemed to care just a little more than his typical self.
Even going as far as to use Sero's actual name when he's calling out, concerned for the other.
Especially, in the way he treated Izuku suggesting giving him one for all just so they could win the battle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They both knew what this would mean for Izuku, and it's pretty obvious Katsuki didn't want to do it at first, but he's not clueless. He knew that Izuku was right, without two one for all's they and everyone on the island would have died. Throughout the process never once does he say anything about himself, he's only ever concerned about what would happen to Izuku and about saving the island.
Izuku was willing to give up his dream for an entire island, because that is his dream. His dream is to save lives and become the greatest hero, and saving an entire island is exactly that. He trusted Katsuki because he knew All Might would, and if All Might would trust this quirk with a person such as Katsuki, clearly others besides us, Katsuki and Izuku can see his development.
Their Relationship
Now, in regards to the actual conversation of misconceptions. I do believe that at first glance, that being not taking into consideration home life and miscommunications among these two in their own time, any sort of romantic relationship for these two would be seen as abusive. Because right now, if they both weren't more busy with training to be heroes rather than relationships and for some reason decided to be together, that's what it would be. Katsuki has a lot of things to sort through in his own head, and after he gets that settled they both have a long road to being able to be anything close to friends.
So being rivals is the best for them at the moment. They are each others core motivation, the reason they push and push themselves even when there's nothing left to push. Which over time is going to build a strong connection, more than what they have.
Eventually I do believe they could be friends, a hero duo is even more likely as they've already proven just now as training heroes that they work well together.
That being said if anything romantic were to come of it, it would be in a much later date.
Another misconception might be that bkdk shippers either ignore the way Katsuki has treated Izuku or just don't see it at all, which may very well be true about a lot of younger (or even older) people who might just see their rivalry as some sort of romantic tension. Which happens a lot in anime. However many of us see this ship and see the development, the huge development that will take place in order to be something more, and that is something we would absolutely love to see.
Shipping (for me personally)
I think that most ships in this fandom have good reasons for being shipped, and even if they don't as I've said there is a difference between shipping something and thinking it will become canon.
Personally, I think any ship becoming canon would ruin the manga. I see bnha as something that is perfect without any building romance, that being said a little background romance wouldn't hurt.
As far as relationships among the students goes, I'd hate to see any of them actually start dating. At this age, when they're doing things that are far more important, it doesn't seem like the right decision at all. That doesn't stop me from reading fanfictions, or looking at fanart, or saying that I ship two or more characters together. It's all harmless fun, until you turn into an Anti. I have absolutely no respect for antis and I severely hope they never interact with me.
In conclusion
I do not think that bkdk will be a canon ship in the mangas current timeline. That however, doesn't mean I can't ship them or think that eventually something could come of all of their character development.
Like it or not a good part of Izuku, his development, his personality, his dreams and life goal come from Katsuki. They come from knowing him nearly his entire life, from seeing him as a symbol of victory since they were kids and even up until now.
You can dislike bakudeku as a ship, you can ship other things and all that, but to deny that they aren't important to each others entire character-- and yes I do mean both of them, Katsukis's character also revolves a lot around Izuku--is to be blinded by your "hate" for the ship or even for Katsuki as a character. BakuDeku as a friendship/rivalship is way more important than as a relationship, and I think that's something everyone who loves either of them needs to respect.
The entire reason that they are were they are right now is because of All Might, their shared admiration for a strong hero for different aspects of said hero. That he never loses, and that he always saves everyone. Both traits make up their own respective heroes, Izuku and Katsuki happening to be opposites on that spectrum.
Their current existence thrives off of each other. Where they once looked to All Might for motivation, they now find it amongst themselves. As seen many times, when Katsuki asks Izuku "when are you going to hurry up and make that quirk your own?" You can choose to see that as him looking down on Izuku, but all I see is him wanting Izuku at his fullest potential so they can both give their all against each other, while at the same time with each other (though I doubt the second part is what Katsuki is thinking, those are just my thoughts.)
All in all, they push each other to be better, and I can't help but respect that.
(I'm sure there will be at least one person who will come around and reblog this just to say how much they disagree with me and why I'm wrong, so if you're that person I'd appreciate it if you just didn't. Your opinions are your opinions, but I'm not going to tell you that you're wrong so I don't want to see you telling me that. Thank you.)

I have two completely different voices for Draco Malfoy.
And by voices I mean literal voices (I read podfics where I give every character a voice, and the Draco voice in HPATLOLS is intensely different to the one in LIS) but with the voice comes a general characterisation, or maybe the other way around- and almost all fanfiction I know have Draco fit at least somehow into one of these two categories.
Of course, me being me, I couldn't help adding those different! Versions of Draco into the Lucyverse, so here goes!
First characterisation of Draco- Draco Black Shacklebolt- is taken almost entirely from 'Leo Inter Serpentes' by aeternum on ao3 (spoilers?!) and my podfic interpretation of it, same for his mum, tho the name change's on me.
He had always been bubbly as a child.
Happy.
And yes, he has grown up- an adult now, who has experienced great evil, seen his father be killed before him and felt no remorse or regret- but he has kept some of that childlike spirit in him.
His love. His hope. His optimism.
When he hears Central talk about different versions of him, versions that turned evil, at the very least bitter, desperate and distraught-
And he thinks
How?
How can I still be me when they are them?
Then his mother- Clarissa Black-Shacklebolt now as a Central associate, Cissa to her Husband, Clarissa to her friends, Miss Black or Black-Shacklebolt to many others, to Draco she's still mother or mum-
She hears of this boy- so much like her own son! Left alone just a few universes over, and of course she wants to help-
She asks him what he thinks.
They'll find another situation if you're not comfortable...
He tells her not to be silly.
Inside, he's anxious.
Then, he meets Draco Malfoy, now Darian Black.
Fourteen.
And he's so bitter-
So dark, a shiver in his voice, as if he's about to sob and not because of his most recent loss-
He's still a child.
He'll be alright, in time, Draco knows.
But what if they hadn't found him? What if he had kept living the life layed out in front of him?
So similar to himself, yet so different.
Draco wraps his arms around himself, looks at his family, his friends, back at his new brother-
And he thinks
That could have been me
And he thinks
He could have been them.
