I know the basic concept is bonkity bonk hit ball back and forth and try to make it touch the ground in your opponent's court, but I think it's like points within sets within games within matches???? am i right or do I have the order fucked up (I probably do) and what are the details of all that????

is there a lot of bias towards men's tennis vs women's? Obviously there are almost no girls in f1 ever and I know a lot of sports like football have HEAVY bias towards men, is tennis like that? "how does grass/clay/hard court affect play"

a LOT! in simplest terms, different surfaces change how a ball bounces. but that has a huge impact on the play: clay is the slowest surface, because it's kind of grippy so the ball loses momentum. that's good if you like to stay at the baseline, be patient, and wait for somebody to make a mistake (which is why I gave that surface to Oscar lol). Grass is fastest because it's a slick surface (no grip) but it's unpredictable because it will be more uneven & different courts will feel very different. another issue w/ the season being short! but if you're a quick learner and you like to play close to the net, grass is for you. Hard court is like. "neutral" surface. it's the most common so everybody knows how to play it! you'll often hear players talk about different hard-court tournaments being "slower" or "faster", generally what they're talking about is the specific surface material, which is the cushion over the concrete that can vary in terms of bounce & grippiness.

"should I watch Break Point"

hahahahahahahahhahahahahahahha. oh no!! idk ….. I really don't like Break Point, I think it's a failed attempt to bring the success of DtS to tennis .. but idk, maybe watching BP as a newbie is helpful?? you will at least start to recognize some names which might be fun?? but yeah it's not as good of an entry point to how the sport is played (imo) and because tennis doesn't have the contained cast of characters that f1 has it doesn't actually help you THAT much with recognizing players on the courts, lmao. also certain episodes made me hate certain players ... looking at you episode about the american men ... taylor fritz my enemy ...

but!! it might help you to pick a few faves based purely on vibes hehe

"how does the scoring work?"

akdjfhalksdjfhakjh how DOES the scoring work … great q … no jk it's actually not too bad you just have to let it settle into your brain lol!! okay so:

within a GAME:

players start at zero, or "love". Why "love"?? who knows!! but here we are. then scoring proceeds through: 15, 30, 40. why?? WHO KNOWWWSSSS

you HAVE to win a game by two points. if you're ahead 40-30 and you win the next point, you win the game. HOWEVER, if the game is tied at 40-40, you are at "deuce", and you have to win TWO points in order to win the game. if you win one point you have advantage: that will look like "A-40" on most scoreboards. if your opponent wins the next point you lose the advantage and you drop back to deuce. so a score could look like this over the course of 6 points:

40-40 — you win a point -> A-40 — they win a point -> 40-40 — you win a point -> A-40 — they win a point -> 40-40 — you win a point -> A-40 — you win another point! -> game!

did that help or did it make everything MORE confusing?

within a SET:

so you won your first game! the set is now 1 game to zero, or 1-0. Time to play the second game. Oh no!! your opponent is serving for this game and they won it, the set is tied 1-1. No worries -- your turn to serve again. You hold your serve! 2-1. Ah shoot, so do they. 2-2. Okay, great, you hold again. 3-2. oh my god you BREAK THEIR SERVE!!!! 4-2 BAYBEEE!!! and you hold again! 5-2! they hold: 5-3. okay moment of truth ….. YOU HOLD SERVE AND WIN THE SET 6-3 GOOD JOB YOU'RE DOING GREAT SWEETIE !!!! <3

you also have to win a set by two games. remember this rule! win by two is the tennis mantra. if a set is tied at 6 games all, it's time for a tie-breaker, and you have to win the tie-breaker by two points. (mostly you play a tie-breaker to 6 points, but this can vary by tournament)

within a MATCH:

you won your first set!! great job your mom is so proud. however. you aren't done yet!! usually you are playing best of three sets, so you still need to win one more set. in Grand Slams if you are a man you are playing best of five, so you need to win TWO more. um. GOOD LUCK!! Here's what a score line might look like:

do you even need to ask 🥲🥲🥲 yes unforch. men consistently get the best broadcasting time-slots on tv, they often get more prize money, and they generally have more name recognition. however!! I think tennis has benefitted from some amazing personalities in women's tennis -- the Williams sisters of course, now coco gauff -- and the prize money sitch is improving for sure. there's hope!! but yeah -- it's a scheduling feedback loop!! give the women better tv times and more eyes will be on their matches!! ajdhflakh it's so frustrating to watch tbh!!! anyway.

coco gauff: crazy athletic, big hitter, hit the scene young, super charismatic on and off court, just very fun to watch

Ended up in the strangest swamp with a pair of mossy old timey baby shoes and then somehow on top of a cliff. Walking in the door, I heard the familiar sound of clay and nick shouting with laughter, notifying me that they were either streaming or playing with george.

I hadn't had a great day, but it wasn't the worst day ever. My friend was unheard from and it concerned me because I tend to overthink. My job was a nightmare and my assignments were stacking up due to finals week.

On top of all of that, I hadn't seen my boyfriend nick in nearly a week. He of course, lived with Clay and I had my apartment about ten minutes away, which was nice when I needed my space.

However right now, all I needed was support from nick, no questions asked. I walked into the house and called out his name. Him not hearing me of course, I decided to not spook his and texted him I was at the house.

Within thirty seconds he texted me to come to his room. As I decended the stairs, destined for my boyfriend, I heard more laughter, making me feel as though I shouldn't burden him with my need for comfort.

I stopped in the hallway unsure if I should pursue the path to his room. I crept up to the door and peeked in, inadvertently making a loud creak noise. Nick's head whipped around and the biggest smile broke out on to his face as he muted his mic. Thank God his face cam was off.

"Y/n, you're here!" He exclaimed getting up to hug me. As I embraced his warmth and buried my head in the crook of his neck, I practically melted into his touch.

"Yeah, finally," I mumbled into his neck. He must have sensed that I was in need of the hug so he merely wrapped his arms tighter around me.

"You okay?" He whispered as his call went off.

"Yeah, sorry, you can go back to your stream." Despite my needed comfort desperately, I would never ask for it, and thankfully, nick knew this.

"No, I'm not streaming, we were just messing around. I'll leave right now." I stopped him.

"No, I would never want to make you do something like that." He smiled.

"No I want to, seriously." As he unmiced and got off the call, I slipped my jacket and shoes off, feeling comfort. Nick got on his bed and soon enough, I slithered up next to him, burying my face in his neck.

"You alright?" He asked as he secured his arms around me.

"Just tired 's all." You breathed in his scent.

"Anything I can do?" He knew exactly what to do to make you fall in love with him.

"Just hold me please, 's all I want right now" he chuckled softly.

"Anything for you, whenever you wanna talk im right here love." He said kissing my head softly. I smiled as I felt myself sink into sleep, surrounded by his touch.

You were sat on the floor of your bedroom, trembling and overwhelmed. You couldn’t pin point what exactly was causing this panic episode this time, but that could just be because of your panicked thoughts.

Your phone was buzzing, it seemed like it had been forever. With a trembling hand, you reached for your phone. The bright light of your lockscreen lit up your face in your dark room.

And the list went on, texts from wilbur, from tubbo, and even tommy.

You’d been offline for about 2 or 3 days (you lost count) and everyone was getting worried. You weren’t going to look at any of the texts, as your vision was seeming to blur, until you caught a glimpse of one.

I’m coming over.

It was from Nick. The thought of someone seeing you right now sent your brain into another spiral.

What was he gonna think after he saw what a mess you’d become?

Your thoughts were interrupted quickly when you heard the jingle of keys and your front door open. You’d forgot nick had his own key.

Heavy steps moving quickly through your house brought the gentle giant to your doorway suddenly.

Looking up at him through an ocean of tears you could faintly see his face fall.

His heart broke at the sight of you, instantly he moved over to where you were, sitting behind you with his legs on either side of you. Before wrapping his arms around you he asked gently,

“Can i touch you? Or no touch?” He was quiet, not wanting you to get startled. With only a nod from you he understood and gently pulled you to his chest.

No further words where spoken as he held you through the worst of it, your heaving breath and shakes didn’t cause him to move a bit.

He waited a bit for it to slow, breathing with you, trying to steady your breath. After it was sort of steady, less of hyperventilation, he rested his head on yours.

“Can i run a bath? Or are we hungry? We can go for a ride too...or we can take a nap..or if you wanna call Nikki or Will..I know they usually help with these..” Nick wanted to give you anything and everything. If you asked him to buy tickets to florida to see clay, right now with those teary eyes and shivery hands, he would hand you his wallet instantly.

You turned, slowly, facing him now. You held his large hand in yours, looking at his hands. He lifted one Tucking a small strand of hair behind your ear.

“Did you edit the video you needed done for today?” You looked up at him finally.

He chuckled softly shaking his head. How could you possibly be thinking of that right now.

“I did but it doesn’t matter, what do you need right now bub? How bout some water to start? With some ice maybe?” He stroked your cheek softly, a small smile on his face.

You nodded a bit but when he started to get up a small whimper left your mouth.

“Cant be here and getting you water babe..I’ll be right back I promise.” He gave you a little kiss on your forehead and then got up slowly and made his way out of the room.

Once he came back he sat in front of you, putting the water down gently inbetween you both.

“After some water how about a nap? You look like you haven’t been sleeping good..” his hand gently laid on your knee, rubbing it softly.

You took a sip of the water and nodded shakily.

You both sat as you drank your water in a comfortable silence, until your phone was ringing again. Before you could look at it, Nick grabbed it, glancing at the screen.

“It’s clay. He’s really worried too, how about I answer and just let him know I’m here so he calms down” he laughed a little, and you nodded.

As he answered you could hear clay faintly,

“Oh my god! You finally answered, jesus Y/n I am so worried, so is nick. You need to call him. He’s been a total utter WREC-“

“HEY! Woah there, I’m fine actually but thanks. Y/n’s okay too, I’m with her. Just wanted you to know she’s okay.” Nick cut him off before he went further.

You sort of tuned out the rest of their convo after finishing the water. You slowly scooted a tad closer to Nick, cuddling yourself to his chest. He wrapped his free arm around you holding you tightly. Once he finished talking to Clay, he wrapped his other arm around you.

“I was so worried..next time..try, I know it’s hard but send me something, just a letter and I’ll know. I’ll be here so fast. I don’t care what I’m doing. I’m always free for you. I mean it.”

You only could respond with a nod, and he knew you understood.

i'm starting to be really interested in makeup but i don't know NOTHING aBOUT IT, and i'm getting insecure because im 16 and i don't even know essetials 101. could you help me? like give a psa abt it and tips

absolutely of course, but let me just start this by saying that it’s completely fine to not know anything about makeup or where to start. there is no one right way to do makeup. it’s a form of self expression. everything I suggest is all from personal experience and just what works for me. it doesn’t mean it will for everyone or even you, but I will do my best to suggest what would be easiest and where to start. I hope this helps!!

where to get the basics: I wouldn’t start with anything too high end or expensive. some high end products are not made for beginners and can be tricky and confusing, and not worth the coin. there are some great drug store products with really good quality. but I’m gonna suggest both drug store and a couple higher end products that are great for beginners, but not absolutely necessary if you’re not able to afford it or access it rn.

foundation: this is one of the basic makeup products. it’s necessary for me due to acne and just makes applying makeup much easier. but you don’t have to use it, all depends on your skin type and complexion and what you prefer. but some great starters are the maybelline fit me, I love it and I have really oily skin but I think it should be fine for combination or dry as well. I stopped using maybelline and use tarte Amazonian clay foundation now, but it’s a bit expensive so if you don’t wanna spend too much $$ yet, i’d go with maybelline. with getting your match, I would test it on your hand or even go to a makeup store and get matched. they don’t always do it 100%, but I’ve almost always gotten a perfect match at ulta. foundation, and makeup in general, always always applies and stays 1000x better with primer. every primer I’ve used and liked is more higher end, like glossier and benefit carry my favorite primers, but I’m sure nyx or e.l.f (great drugstore brands) has one that would work just fine. nyx also has a really good setting spray to set your makeup and has an option for either dewy or matte, depending on your skin type. you can apply foundation with your finger, but I suggest applying and blending it with a beauty sponge (I use a $6 one from ulta and I love it, a perfect dupe for a beauty blender) or a brush.

concealer: I use this to conceal my dark under eye circles and red spots. it also brightens up that area and my whole face. I use tarte shape tape, but a much cheaper option and literal perfect dupe (some people even prefer this one!) is colourpop no filter concealer. I suggest colourpop in general, it’s an extremely affordable online brand (they will soon be available in sephora tho!) and has great quality and super cute products.

eyes: whatever you choose to do on your eyes like mascara, eyeliner, or eyeshadow, it’s completely up to you. mascara is a staple tho and ties any look together, no matter how simple or glam. I suggest to start with L’Oréal (I don’t remember the exact name of it) but it’s a dupe for better than sex mascara from too faced and it’s right at the drug store. for a beginner eyeshadow palette, I highly recommend the morphe 350 palette. it has literally every shade you need, extremely easy to use with a wide array of mattes and shimmers, and is only $23. it has every option a beginner or pro needs and is super affordable and will last you so long. I also recommend morphe brushes. they’re also extremely affordable and so soft and just made working with eyeshadow so much easier. eyeliner is something you don’t have to use, but if you don’t want to I recommend nyx ultra matte liquid eyeliner. liquids are so much easier to use for me personally. to get a perfect line or wing, it all take practice and watching a tutorial. (I live by tutorials, and I’ll touch on that again in a second.)

other face products: highlight, blush, and bronzer are not all necessary, but I use them, mostly highlight. I use brushes to apply these and they’re just to add some warmth and pop to your look. for highlight, colourpop has some really nice ones as well as nyx’s chrome highlights and wet n wild. for a little higher end, fenty beauty and anastasia Beverly Hills has some beautiful highlights and blush kits as well as bronzer.

lipsticks: lipsticks also aren’t necessary, but they’re really nice and bring every look together. you could also use other lip products like lip gloss. there’s matte lipsticks or dewy or satin ones. some of my favorites are nyx liquid suede or the butter creams. colourpop has some really nice ones as well. they’re all super affordable, and I’ve also heard that e.l.f satin lips are really nice. for higher end, I adore too faced melted matte lipsticks and Kat Von D everlasting lipsticks but they’re a bit pricy.

tips and tricks: lots and lots of practice and tutorials. not all tutorials work, but they’ve helped me a lot. I really like watching kathleenlights, rawbeautykristi, atleeeey, thomas halbert, rachhloves, and a few more I’m forgetting. and please have fun! I know it can be intimidating and make you feel insecure, but there is no right way. it’s what makes you feel good, that’s the right way. let me know if you have any other questions!

iiiiiiiii honestly haven’t even looked at my actual followers page in a loooooong time, even on my personal blog i was never good with that lol. i just can’t keep up with everyone and i don’t want to feel obligated to follow everyone back because that would be way too many posts on my dashboard all the time y’know. it sounds mean but...ajksdgdsf i WISH i could follow everyone back but itsjustnotrealistic

tbh i follow people back when they reach out to me, make an effort to engage with me, send me messages, reply, or just frequently interact with my posts because it gets my attention and shows their personality. i don’t mean that as in like...”you can’t be my friend unless you give me notes” (LMFAO NO) i mean it as in like i’m fcking oblivious and it’s too much work for me to go out of my way and check out every single blog that follows me :{ but i love messaging and communicating through replies so even if you’re nervous pleeeease step out of your comfort zone, i promise i’m like a pretty good OK human being and i try to make funny jokes so talking to me isn’t that bad i promise.

hell0 thank you <3 yeah hispanic people are very diverse, especially with varying nationalities, and especially with puerto ricans. i personally know a lot of puerto ricans who are white passing so it’s really not that uncommon. everyone’s different, and as eir said, white passing POC are still POC!

heyo i summed up the story here and here and there’s a lot of posts of key events linked in there! thank you though, that’s so kind ;-; <3 wellll the only editing program i use is photoshop cs6 so i’d recommend that haha. you can find it for free pretty easily, but if you’re not into that, there are plenty of other programs you can use. i know a lot of ppl on here use gimp.

second of all it IS going to be ok, you shouldn’t force yourself to do something you hate if it’s really impeding on your mental health that much. it’s not good for you in the long run, even if it pays well. like, at what cost do you want to sell yourself in order to make money? my point is you made a good decision but lacked the foresight, which luckily is something that can be remedied easily. (well...hopefully, but job hunting is never easy :\ ) if you’re still in this situation by the time your bills and everything catch up to you, you can always seek help from family and friends or look into loans...find someone (or multiple people) who will stick by you and support you through this, because this is something way too hard to do alone. (if you don’t have anyone, i’m here for you ;-; ) i honestly don’t have any good advice for finding another job because tbh that’s something i always flounder in, and i’m gonna have to do the same thing by the time i finish up school in the next month AHHHHH

hmmmmm i kinda get a weird shiny glitch too but it’s only with certain things, and it’s usually remedied by clicking on the sim’s different outfit categories until it goes away lol. but if it’s on ALL of the hairs...hmm...i’m assuming you’re talking about alpha? because i don’t think clay hairs usually have that problem. check if laptop mode is on, if it is, turn it off!! that’s the only solution i can think of :{

no but really...it’s hard. i’m glad i’m so into this story/eager to see all your reactions to it because otherwise the chaos of my life would’ve definitely deterred me from moving along with it a while ago. that’s basically the reason i’m so surprised i even made it this far tbh. i accomplished so much more than i ever thought i would. ;__;

i don’t have an answer for this question because i DO often feel overwhelmed and i have to take a step back and remind myself it’s not the end of the world if i don’t have time to go in game or edit or whatever. i think it’s because i set up this timeline for myself in terms of goals i want to reach with my story throughout the rest of the year and i get frustrated with myself when those plans become delayed because of other obligations. (for example i definitely thought baby wallace would’ve been born by now lmao syke) i was getting burnt out very easily before, which is why i’ve been taking it slower lately (that and i’ve been working a lot more so i don’t have as much free time as i used to :\ ) the good thing about having different characters tho is that when i get burnt out on one thing i can just switch over to another thing at an opportune time (which is what i’ve always done with santi and girooni)

anyway yeah i am kinda organized (in my own weird way) in terms of story planning, controlling the pacing and key events, and that’s definitely the reason i’m able to post so frequently. i used to have multiple free days a week where i could go in game for long amounts of time and get lots of scenes done at once, but at this point in my current schedule i just basically go in game whenever i'm free from the clutches of capitalism (jk we’re never free save us bernie) which means i only have time to do like one thing in game but it seems to be working just as well so far.

im glad i pretty much got it. i can really relate to everything going on. i can see a lot of myself in santi and molly & i get it. the movies make you think you fall in love and everythings fixed like they fill that void in your soul and i mean sure they fill parts of it but you need to do that yourself and not rely on someone else. Your story is real and you can tell your writing from personal experience because theres so much feeling. u think ur fixing urself and u end up more hurt in the end

i’m so glad you can relate ;-; i think that’s one of my proudest accomplishments so far. i mean santi has always been relatable for me because he IS me...or at least partly me, just like all my characters are. but i never thought anyone else would feel the same way, so it means so much to me that people enjoy him as a character because of that.

anyway YES exactly. i hate the “no one’s going to love you if you don’t love yourself” mentality, i think it’s a toxic way of looking at the benefits of genuine self love. the sentiment behind it is true, but it’s a backwards way of looking at it. someone’s else’s love shouldn’t be your motivation, your own love toward yourself should be your motivation. when you look at it in the other way, you do end up getting more hurt in the end.

ummM I DON’T ACTUALLY because i get all my light leaks off google lmao. i have a folder of all the ones i’ve collected over time lmao

you could probably easily make some with the paintbrush in overlay mode with varying opacities tho? i’ve tried to replicate this a few times actually, but the rest of the time i just use light leaks made by other people lol

LATELY i’ve been just enjoying playing the game because i’ve gotten burnt out on story things and just playing is such a nice break from it haha. whenever i have to wait in game for it to be a certain time of day for story purposes, i go play with girooni for a few sim hours to pass the time and it’s fun for me lmao. i’m looking forward to my story winding down so i can get back to doing more gameplay things like i did before but at the same time i’ll always do at least something story related because i like the sense of direction it gives y’know.

i’ve never actually tried any challenges, not even just regular old legacies because i would always either get sick of the sims i was playing with or get too attached to them and not want to go to a new generation lmao. i was never interested in any challenges tbh. i like watching other people do bachelor(ette) challenges tho heheh
