ok I'm finally doing it I'm finally drafting up this post. if you've spoken to me about shaman king literally ever or even followed this blog for more than two days you know this one
goose's Renmei Thoughts™ aka:
Tumblr media
(thanks @gelatinous-jellyfish for making me this wonderful image a while back)
(quick explanation for everyone unaware, renmei is the canon relationship between iron maiden jeanne and tao ren from the sk sequels. I never explain this in the post but if you want to read it and don't know that's what this is. also I mention this takei guy a lot he's the mangaka)
so pov you're me circa feburary 2022, currently unaware of the kzb manga ending or sequels because you got into sk 6 months ago and the 2021 anime isn't over yet. you're innocently googling your girl jeanne for idk drawing references or whatever and BOOM autocomplete drops the most confusing spoiler of all time on you
that's how I remember finding out renmei exists, and at the time I'm pretty sure I was like "oh this must just be a popular het pairing from the Olden Days or something it'd be ridiculous if that was-" it was it was canon. cue a terrible amount of suffering april 21st 2022 when episode 52 of the new anime aired and it was what it is
of course I was upset but in an attempt to not be That One Annoying Fandom Person I sat down and thought about it and gave the concept the benefit of the doubt for a bit and now I have a pretty solid idea of how I feel about it. my renmei thesis is basically:
well that could have been a good idea but wow did takei completely fumble it
part a why it's not conceptually terrible: this one's really simple it's just that they're both similar characters. I'm anticipating you the reader have actually read/watched shaman king so I'm just gonna present you with the chart I made a few months back
murderous child -> oh shit -> what now it's quite similar
Tumblr media
btw this file was named "the.png". that is such an unhelpful file name I had to DIG to find it. wtf past me
basically if it was actually written properly I think we could have gotten some cool things out of a romantic relationship between these two characters. however
part b: we didn't
my favourite way to describe renmei is that it just wasn't written. because it wasn't. across over 300 chapters of mainline and spinoff manga they have maybe four interactions, three of which were after they were already a couple (and the fourth one is that time she raised him from the dead and they didn't speak. does that really even count?). and those three actual interactions were flashbacks and not... actually important. I think one of them was just about cheese. as a reader your experience is
2 characters who never interacted -> literally what the fuck when did that happen -> she's DEAD???
when my friend was reading the manga I had to tell her to reread a scene because the panel where they explain it is such a blink-and-you-miss-it moment
literally the same pacing and payoff as CANON DESTIEL.
their entire actual relationship happens during the downtime between the main manga ending and the sequels beginning. and I'm going to bring osp into this because I think this graphic is helpful
(side note as I was scrolling through this trope talk I noticed a problem red brings up that does apply to the sk sequels but that's for another post...)
Tumblr media
this is from the osp trope talk on sequels, and it shows the difference in Stuff Happening levels between plot time (red) and down time (grey). the issue with renmei is that it is an IMPORTANT PLOT EVENT (two characters with little interaction having an entire love story) that happens during DOWN TIME, when the audience only sees things through flashbacks in snippets. and it doesn't help that we never get any flashbacks to before the event happened, before they got together. it's jarring because the ENTIRE THING happens during down time. plot time 1 (the main manga) ends with no interactions between them, and ONE scene that's supposed to set ren up for getting Straight Married that in my opinion didn't work. because it is stupid. plot time 2 (every sequel manga) starts after jeanne's death. it's literally the inciting incident for red crimson. their entire 7+ year relationship is encapsulated in foggy down time, and we're expected to care.
and this especially doesn't work because we aren't set up to care. again, 1 interaction in the main manga, where they don't talk (but I will go to bat for the inherent intimacy of raising someone from the dead like we could have done something there). it's pretty clear to me from rereading the manga that takei didn't know these two would get together when he was writing it. that one scene I mentioned where he tries to set up ren getting Straight Married? if you've read it you know it's incredibly vague and with how takei wrote literally everything else it sure doesn't work as intended. or I'm too aromantic and yaoipilled to understand his literary genius idk. it's clear from some other missed opportunities that the jeanne part of the equation wasn't exactly planned from the beginning. which is even more insulting tbh
part c jeanne character assassination: out of the both of them jeanne really got the short end of the stick in terms of characterization in the sequels. I say this because I actually really like ren in the sequels I like the way takei took his character, so holy shit does sequels jeanne look even worse in comparison. the whole housewife thing is eeeeeeeeeeeeeehhhhhhhhhh, not really a fan of that but I'm also not mad enough to comment. her death I do have some thoughts about. conceptually the beheading herself with shamash thing is BADASS AS HELL and I do like it conceptually, I also know like, the themes. yeah remember that time "atoning for your crimes with your death isn't the right thing to do" was an important part of the plot. TWICE. FUCK THAT I GUESS. there is some equivalent exchange bullshit happening with these two and the continuation of main manga themes and I want it to stop please
part d tao men: one thing I've thought about a lot is Why. why fumble this so badly. why do this at all. what do we get out of this. and the answer is an inciting incident and tao men. and the fumble bag continues because tao men deserved better this is a tao men appreciation account. we could have done some cool shit with his revenge thing but nope fuck that I guess. poor guy
part e contrast: so the sequel manga where renmei is most relevant is red crimson. I absolutely love red crimson I recommend it to everyone. and that's because of jun and pairon (and chapter 9 full transparency). jun and pairon in red crimson have one of the most beautiful relationships I've ever seen. they have an established dynamic and baggage to work through and that's what the manga focuses on. and it works it works really well. however this is also the Renmei Manga, and having most of that stuff right next to jun and pairon just makes it look worse
those are all my renmei thoughts I remembered while writing this post, I think that covers most of it but I may reblog this later with stuff I forgot

watching the new doctor who special bc this is, first and foremost, a dw fan account. blogging my thoughts
Episode 1
i’m a bit weary of reboots and stuff and i know this will be self indulgent but i have hope bc rtd but we’ll see
i forgot they made donna part of a swirl relationship
omg angst
did rtd manage to make dw child friendly and also profound
well i’m sure they also had to tone it down bc disney
ong they killed her
wtf r the next two episodes gonna be about
omg they made rose like… woah
omg
wow
what if i got emotional
the non binary thing with donna’s rose was like.. lazy tho
i liked the maternal metacrisis solution tho
and they’re going back and rewriting the doctors sexuality but i will excuse it because it’s rtd and an openly gay doctor would have been a hard sell in 08, i guess. also he had that thing with rose
i do partly feel that they were relying on the past grandeur and lore of the show which obviously worked on me but like i generally think it’s lazy
Episode 2
THIS EPISODE IS CRAZY
rtd did not dissapoint
i liked the beginning with newton
the Creaturss r so good
that scene of ten screaming and yelling and hitting the grate me lmao
this is crazy wow
they made them look so fucked up ddujfgjjjfg
what is the mavity
THE FUCKING BREAK INTO THE GALLOP cjfjdjdjd
oh no oh fuckkkkk
oh my god
rtd will threaten to kill the main characters and it will work every time
yeah this one is probably the best out of the three
idk maybe i’m biased bc i liked the plot but the character building and the writing from an objective standpoint with the theme of the mini series binaries and what we hide away and what happens when we are reflected back to ourselves, and how it is distorted- representative of how we see our own self. u know
but mavity tho … was it just for laugh or at i’m i missing something
Episode 3
o fuck i forgot nph was in this ..:/
his fake german lsnjds
doctor who has ai wtf what is that robot
oh this is interesting…
oh god it’s about privacy in the digital age and screens
there’s an evil puppet hiding in our screens
what an interesting social critique..
All World Leaders Are Being Affected By The Giggle
the toy maker concept is actually pretty interesting and definitely reminds me of like the literary jester i just feel like they were relying too much on the toy makers mystique to impress us
women and gender studies majors would have massive words to say about the doctor birthing scene
the catch scene is actually pretty cool
the puppet as a symbol for the biblical christ , the toymaker, the all knowing Creator
and i did like what rtd was trying to say as far as rage and believing you are right
omg ten hugging 15(?)
our blobo finally got the hug he needed
the master callback yes down to the nail polish
good 2 know a twink will still be speed walking around the tardis
so ten got his family and his happy ending…
now ether are two tardis’s. they’re fucking with canon, but its not new.

Hi! I'm really interested in the worldbuilding of the Kree and I saw a post you made about the books that tie into Captain Marvel. If its not too much of an issue, could you elaborate on what you meant when you said that Kree tech was water based? No worries if not, I'm just curious :)
Hello!! I would literally love to elaborate!!
So the book I read this in was Marvel's Captain Marvel: The Art of the Movie (link to it on amazon here), which has a ton of concept art and details on the world building that you don't necessarily get from the movie and it's so cool! I'm pretty sure Marvel does a book like this for all their movies/shows, so obviously I have this one, and also the ones for Endgame (specifically for the Carol art) and Black Widow. If you're interested in the world-building of the movie, I highly recommend finding a copy of this book!
anyway! the stuff about the Kree having water based technology was talked about in the section of the book about the Supreme Intelligence, and I took some pics for you of each little blurb that mentioned it (also, the blurbs are surrounded by concept art, so they refer to that art in some of these, but I didn't take pics of them since the text would then be too small in these pics):
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
So the most obvious way that water based tech is used by the Kree in Captain Marvel is in scenes with the Supreme Intelligence. The first time Carol communicates with the SI in the film, she steps onto a communication pad, a metallic liquid flows over her in little veins, and then we see her talking to the SI on a platform surrounded by the same metallic liquid.
When you watch the movie again, you can notice more fluid details in the tech they use, like in the second gif from this set I posted, Carol is a hologram talking to Yon-Rogg on the Helion, and you can see little ripples underneath the hologram:
Tumblr media
There's more small details like that like too, specifically when she uses the gauntlets of her suit to communicate with Yon-Rogg in the same scene as the gif above, and when she later uses her gauntlets to access information from the Skrull version of a flash drive (idk what it's actually called in the movie lol).
Also! The Skrulls use organic and fluid tech too! A great spot to see the water-based tech specifically is towards the beginning of the movie when Carol is fighting her way off of the Skrull ship and goes back to the room with the mindfracking machine to take her boots back. She photon blasts the machine and it dissolves into liquid. Fun!!
And here's a blurb from the art book about designing organic Skrull tech on that ship:
Tumblr media
There's maybe more things I'm forgetting, or maybe I even gave you more information than you wanted! But let me know if you do want me to elaborate on anything else!! Always happy to talk about Captain Marvel stuff!!

mike's media medley--March 2024
Tumblr media
yo whats up. so at the end of the year i do a top 7 ranking of my fave movies released that year and a top 7 ranking of video games i played that year (regardless of release date) which is VERY fun and im still gonna do it but!
there are a lot of things that i like that don't make the cut that i would like to talk about...and things that i did not like that i would also like to talk about. so i will be doing a post every month about *all* the movies i watched for the first time, including older movies and new releases, same for games i played for the first time. and occasionally a book if i can manage it. it is taking me one billion years to read The Plague
here are some things i watched and played for the very first time this march:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(thoughts below the cut. minor spoilers)
starting off in alphabetical order with:
Good Time (2017)
i watched Uncut Gems a couple of years ago and I actually didn't remember the directors' name(s) for that movie, so when I watched Good Time i was like damn that made me feel like Uncut Gems. im gonna check out more of these guys' movies. lo and behold
i think overall Uncut Gems made me feel more stressed, but Good Time made me feel more bad for basically everyone involved but Robert Pattinson's character and watching this dude just make awful decisions and treat other people like shit was like. so nasty feeling. i would like to watch more.
i liked the directing of this movie but i liked Uncut Gems's better. not to keep comparing the two but theyre made by the same people with the same like. goals of being a fucking Stress Simulator. i did love robert pattinson's performance which i won't compare to adam sandler's in Uncut Gems because even though they're both the driving forces of their movies they're both pretty different characters and even if i thought pattinson's character was slimy and just like a shite fucking person i think he did a good enough job expressing the desperation of getting the hell outta there with his brother. the emotional hook was There but i wish it was explored slightly more so i could be a bit more invested in seeing how he makes everything worse.
overall decent. i did like it. would maaaaaybe watch again but not like regularly. 70/100. also if you think 70 is a low score it is Not. it is a good score. just putting that out there before someone takes 70/100 to mean i think something is bad (<- damage control for a later score)
next:
Late Night with the Devil (2024)
Tumblr media
this movie has like 10 FUCKING COMPANIES CREDITED AT THE BEGINNING when i saw it in theaters by the time it got to like the 7th one everyone in my theater was exasperatedly saying 'oh my god'
but once the movie gets started. oh hell fucking yeah
i didn't watch any trailers for this or love lies bleeding (i dont rly watch trailers in gen tbh) so idk if the trailer conveyed that this would be set up as like...a lost TV episode, complete with bumpers and brief sponsor mentions, 'behind the scenes footage' etc, but regardless i did not know that going in and you can imagine my utter fucking delight when the movie started playing and after a minute or two i realized the gimmick
i REALLY liked this movie. i thought it was appropriately cheesy for a talkshow hosted in the 70s and i liked some of the subtle moments you really only catch on rewatch (which i did rewatch it w/ my mom), like how the doctor says abraxas thrives on the attention of an audience and the whole time lily is trying to stare directly into the cameras smiling.
the ending is really fucking cool and the mystery unraveling through the supernatural occurrences was compelling. i thought most of the actors did a pretty good job. im not really a fan of demon possession stuff for very personal reasons but i stuck it out for the concept which i really did enjoy.
that being said i found out shortly after i watched this movie that they used AI art for some of the bumpers and i was legitimately so disappointed. there was clearly a talented production team working on this thing to ensure the 70s night talkshow vibe was maintained and they couldn't get one of them to do bumpers, or hire an artist?
it really sucks. i dont want to rag too harshly on smaller indie filmmakers for doing this when big players in every industry are forcibly trying to incorporate AI into their stuff so i won't be review bombing the movie like ive seen some do in response--which i *get*, and i hope the team takes that as a sign to just hire a fucking artist next time--but it did kind of sour the movie for me despite how much i enjoyed it.
so im docking 5 points for the AI art and im also docking 5 points for the 10 companies credited in the beginning because that just makes the AI art feel more egregious to me.
75/100. maybe if they release the movie on shudder with the AI art removed they'll get their 5 points back
next:
Love Lies Bleeding (2024)
Tumblr media
everybody in this movie is so fucking sweaty and grimy and everything looks kind of dirty and like it smells like sweat and deodorant and tbh i kind of dig it. especially when next to the cleaner 'aesthetic' version of the 70s presented in Late Night with the Devil
but man this movie was really good. i dont want to spoil it too much but PLEASE go watch it. its decently horny so if you dont like that sort of thing Sawi but if you can look past that its so fucking weird and like strangely funny when it shouldnt be (but is definitely trying to be, so its not like unintentional humor, maybe more like morbid humor?) and theres horror and fantastical elements that you simply arent expecting and my theater screamed at the ending. please go watch it. truly the epitome of i support womens rights AND womens wrongs. honestly i could go on about this movie but i will not right now because you WILL go watch it in theaters NEOW
85/100
next:
Spirited Away (2001)
okay im gonna be really blunt and rip the bandaid off with this one. i just thought it was Fine
like obviously the animation is stellar but that was about it for me. maybe i listened to this movie get hyped as one of the best animated films ever and set my expectations absurdly high but i watched it and i enjoyed it but i wasn't like...blown away or struck with Whimsy And Wonder or overcome with emotion.
i do think some of the characters were charming and it was entertaining and i dont want it to sound like i didnt like the movie but i guess i just felt underwhelmed? i might rewatch it another time with my expectations readjusted and see if i enjoy it more but when i watched it and the credits rolled i just went 'oh okay. was that it?'
anyways 70/100
viddy game time
(the) gnorp apologue--
Tumblr media
she gnorp on my rock until i shard
funny clicky idle game . it is NOT an idle game where you can just buy all the upgrades and 'win', theres some strategy involved, but its honestly a really funny game. theres breaking bad references in there. in fact there are all kinds of references in there. you should go play it for the low low price of just over 5 dollars
minami lane--
Tumblr media
so i will say first i am not like an avid player of 'cozy' games and find a lot of them pretty boring but i did really enjoy this one. it's a short city builder game with a really cute art-style. it has a sandbox mode (which i havent played) but it also has about five challenges to complete with multiple objectives and i had a good time trying to 100% them all. i would love if they added more challenges but tbh! it's not a bad way to spend about 3-4 hours of your time. im sure if you play sandbox mode you'd get even more but honestly i was satisfied with doing the challenges. it's just under 5 bucks there are definitely worse ways to spend your money.
if you've read this whole thing i love u. feel free to use this post as an opportunity to recommend me movies, tv shows, and games you think i should check out.

X Files Rewatch: Season 6
overall thoughts: i really liked this season on rewatch! tbf, i think i had only seen about half of the episodes when i originally watched this season but most of the new episodes (to me) i really enjoyed and of course it was great to go back and revisit some of my favorite episodes i had seen already. I love that they really hammered the idea of dreams/resets and fate vs. free will this season and there’s some great metas i read about those themes, i especially love the idea of viewing this season as a “concept album”.
msr: this season really is all about one step forward two steps back in terms of the question of belief/the truth and msr relationship to each other. the x files is closed, the x files reopens, the syndicate is destroyed, krycek and CSM blackmail skinner, they find the alien artifact. mulder pretends that the FTF almost kiss never happened, then tells scully he loves her two episodes later. scully almost dies and they seem closer than ever but then diana returns. things are tense and awkward but the events of milagro and the unnatural shock mulder out of his complacency. i think thematically the conclusion of this back and forth (and the tensions regarding belief that reached their peak in folie a deux) is resolved in field trip, when they each realize that they need the other to push back against them, that only together are they able to make progress in their work and also to feel like a complete person. the ending shot of them reaching for each other in the ambulance is the conclusion of the season long arc, where they are more mentally and spiritually on the same page than ever before (the romantic side will take slightly longer imo but that’s bc they are scared idiots lmao).
writing: no surprise that i still worship at the alter of vince gilligan but I also really enjoyed his collabs with john shiban this season: dreamland I&II, monday, three of a kind, and field trip are all solid episodes. and I have to give credit to chris carter for writing triangle and how the ghosts stole christmas, idk WHAT he was smoking while writing those episodes but whatever it was his third eye was WIDE open. (which of course then slams shut for two fathers/one son)
directing: poor rob bowman was given some really mediocre episodes this season, but i still love drive and he added a nice characteristic feel to his other episodes even if the scripts were bad. I would have loved to see his take on milagro, especially bc i think he could have connected it better to never again, but i still think kim manners did a good job, especially when he was more imitative of rob’s style. field trip and monday are also kim manners episodes that i really enjoyed from a directing standpoint. chris carter’s continuous shots ala the west wing in triangle were super cool, and david duchovny had some really lovely shots and especially transition shots in the unnatural.
hair: every time mulder and scully are separated and/or have to face the mortifying ordeal of leveling up their relationship they get out the kitchen scissors 🙄
favorite episodes: drive, triangle, how the ghosts stole christmas, the rain king, tithonus, monday, arcadia, field trip
77% worth rewatching (may be a bit generous bc i’m including two fathers/one son even though i hated those episodes but they are relevant to the overall plot)
individual episode reactions under the cut:
The Beginning- okay slay cognitive dissonance and regression
Drive- Vince Gilligan KNOWS how to make a riveting hour of television!!!!
Triangle- this is television!!! also so west wing coded with the continuous shots
Dreamland I- what happens if they get out of the car!!! chaos
Dreamland II- that goodbye scene with the sunflower seeds :((((
How the Ghosts Stole Christmas- Chris Carter’s third eye was WIDE open
Terms of Endearment- mulder “I’m not a psychologist” LMAOOO this episode is not serious
The Rain King- so silly so romantic I fucking love it
S.R.8819- the ending…I screamed
Tithonus- so striking so sad so horrifying so good
Two Fathers- mulder playing basketball :)))
One Son- making!! it!! personal!!
Agua Mala- they’re MARRIED
Monday- chilling…horror show groundhog day
Arcadia- they’re fake married, and heteronormativity is a prison <3
Alpha- Scully is sooo crazy jealous lmao
Trevor- bad story beautiful directing
Milagro- do male writers deserve rights?
The Unnatural- shut up mulder I’m playing baseball :))
Three of a Kind- bimbo scully call me
Field Trip- thematic conclusion to the tensions of folie a deux and season 6 as a whole!!!!
Biogenesis- diana is evil evil evil

Review #8: Yumi's Cells (Season 1)
WARNING: THIS POST DEF CONTAINS SPOILERS. PLEASE READ AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED THE DRAMA. (I will do my best to label spoilers, but I’m not perfect.)
With the second season announced, this drama has been showing up in front of me a lot lately. For a while, I thought it looked kind of cringe, which is why it took me so long to finally give it a chance. What made me cave in was seeing that Jinyoung from GOT7 was a part of the show. This drama came out in 2021 and is starring Ahn Bo-hyun, Kim Go-eun and Jinyoung.
Welcome to THE THIRST CORNER!!!!
I'm gonna just say it right off from the beginning, I figured I would simp over Jinyoung the most. He's someone I know, he's definitely handsome and his character (Yoo Bobby) is really sweet.
HOWEVER
Tumblr media
Ku Woong is possibly the most attractive male lead I've ever seen. Like, the way I was instantly smitten with him? His hair is so cute, I LOVE HIS BEARD IDK WHAT ANYONE ELSE SAYS. Also, to be blunt, he's got some tig ol' biddies and I am a FAN. He's so strong yet gentle. I love the gentle giant type idk.
He's also not just physically attractive (100% my ideal type in this drama) his personality is just AHG. He's so smart and level headed. I'm in love with his big juicy brain. The way he does quick math? I'm in awe. But like he's also dumb? The most perfect himbo to ever exist.
Also, he looks like a real life Asahi Azumane (but Korean instead of Japanese ofc).
Like, Woong is absolutely best boy. He's not perfect, of course, but he's so sweet. I can't find any other words to describe the way he makes me feel. I just am absolutely head over heels in love with him. Would do anything for him. I feel like I could treat him better than Yumi. Just come here sweet boy. All I want is one chance.
Tumblr media
Like?? He's too precious for this world?? (this scene had me kicking my feet and squealing like I was 14 again)
Also, as someone who isn't the best at cleaning, the fact that he genuinely enjoys cleaning and organizing is that much more attractive. He's my perfect opposite and I think we could really make it work.
Side note: I couldn't figure out where I recognized him from, but he plays Eun-gi in Her Private Life! (I thought he was also adorable in this role and got severe second male lead syndrome from him). So maybe I'm an Ahn Bo-Hyun fan. What about it?
Okay wow that was a lot. I'm just obsessed with him.
NOW LETS TALK ABOUT JINYOUNG
Tumblr media
His character is unbelievably sweet. I love how respectful he is. (SPOILER) Like, I def could tell he had feelings for Yumi, but did his best to not make her or Woong uncomfortable. Also, Yoo Bobby deserves better, tbh. (SPOILER) His girlfriend was terrible and I hope nothing good ever happens to her.
I obviously have less to say about him because 1- he's not Woong. 2-He actually wasn't around much until the end. I'll have more to say once I watch and review season 2.
Thank you for indulging me as I gush about the love of my life Ku Woong. I feel like I can move on now. (Not move on from Woong but just like move on in the review).
I feel like this drama concept was really original. Like, the fact that different cells in our body control different things. The animation gave a really cool look into the mind of our characters without taking away from the story too much. I think, of all the cells, I loved Hunger the most . He's a cutie and I love the little tteokbokki on his head.
Lets talk female lead really quick.
I was so excited when I realized the female lead was my girl Kim Go-eun. I loved her in Goblin and was excited to see her in a bit of a more mature role.
Lets start with the things I love about Yumi :)
Tumblr media
I love the way that she's most motivated by Love. (Thats an indirect spoiler I guess?) I find that extremely relatable and could really connect to Yumi, especially in the beginning. She works hard and is diligent with whatever she's given. When she does something, she puts her entire heart into it, which I think is really admirable.
Now what I don't like :(
Especially towards the end, it became so difficult to root for Yumi. Maybe it was because I was so wrapped around Woong's finger, but she seemed to not even take him into consideration. If Woong wasn't doing things her way, then he was in the wrong. I do admit, there were mistakes Woong made along the way (SPOILER) mostly just holding too tightly to his pride as a man. But Yumi just kind of did whatever she wanted. Maybe that was just me. She just let too much bother her in regards to outside influences and her relationship. I hope she's grown by Season 2.
The ending gave me 25/21 flashbacks(iykyk). It didn't feel right. It felt like it was just because they wanted a more "realistic" ending and didn't even bother to look at character development. Or even want to put in the work to develop the characters. I was so distressed by the ending that I literally put my head down on my desk and cried for a while. I can't imagine finishing this drama and not knowing there was a second season. Props to all of you that had to endure this long.
In regards to the OST, I actually really like it. The only artist I recognize is J.UNA as well as DOYOUNG. But I think the soundtrack really did well to set the mood. It's also just nice background music for life, which means its a good OST in my opinion!
I'm hopeful that season 2 will be just as good if not better. This drama made me laugh, cry, scream, swoon, and everything else in-between. That's something I like in whatever media I'm consuming, whether it be a kdrama or a marvel movie.
Rating for this drama: 9/10 (It has inserted itself into my kdrama top 20)
Reminder that these are simply my opinions. If this is your favorite drama, I don’t mean to offend you. Feel free to put what you loved/didn’t love in the comments. Just be kind and remember that everyone like different dramas. Also please be nice to me, I am but a normal person. :)

ok i kinda just wanna talk about like my top three anime in short
initial d: ok so like i love cars, i like the mechanical aspects of them, they can be so shiny and nice to just look at and they just agh theyre cool. then you make an anime about just some guy whos really good at driving them naturally? fuck yeah, i love just some guy! and like the art style is so 90s in a way thats just so beautiful like there are scenes from that show that i just like to look at. not the actual racing scenes, no, those look like ps2 graphics. i mean , its kinda beautiful but in a different way akira: okay so akira is another anime that is just so so cool. the art style (especially at the beginning when its panning through neo-tokyo) and the designs of the bikes and well, the designs of everything. it is just an amazing thing to look at but also the STORY. surviving and trying to live in a fascist police state? yeah, YEAH. i love that shit, and like the body horror that comes later along with the aspects of psychological horror, its so good. also I NEED Kanedas jacekt so bad omg violet evergarden: ok so actually trying to choose my third favorite was hard. it was either chainsaw man (for reasons I will maybe talk about one day), cowboy bebop (it was one of the first animes i ever watched), or violet evergarden, the first anime to make me cry so much I was dehydrated for like a whole day afterwards. violet evergarden is another one of those animes thats so visually pleasing, every scene looks like a painting and its beautiful and then it thrives with its story. like, a girl who has to learn what it means to be human via writing the emotions of those around her? beautiful, no notes, thatis the ideal story. every episode made me cry (tbf thats not hard) and right now im crying about episode 10 (iykyk) and its been like a year since i watched the damn show, thats how amazing it is. every aspect of it sticks with you and you will think about it a year later and still cry at the very concept of individual episodes FUCK anyways im still super new to anime, like the first anime i watched like in depth was Beastars which goes to show how new to anime i am. I mean, i watched some in high school but that was mostly to fit in with my friendgroup and i didnt pay too much attention so like those dont count. anyways, idk why i felt the need to write this, im just suuuper bored

Yes you’re so right. It feels like he’s creating a documentary with the subject being his brain and his feelings… but then he’s also the director, the writer, and the actor. And he’s reminding you of it constantly by looking directly into the camera lol.
And something which I think is really really cool… is that he’s set the show up so that the show LOOKS and FEELS like it’s actually the behind-the-scenes for a real show. Like they’re making something else… something normal and polished… but these are a collection of all the bits they cut out. And I think that’s a really cool vibe to create because it does help it feel professional but also intimate.
This might sound weird, but I feel like he is going after the same setup/vibe as The Office… just with less comedy and more serious subject matter.
The Office always had this theme of almost being self aware. Especially in the beginning when the story was that the show was just a documentary being filmed. That’s the vibes I’m getting from atpoaim.
He’s filming a show for us so that we can get a look into his mind… but he wants us to know that HE knows that it’s all a bit silly and weird and performative. It feels like when you have to give a PowerPoint presentation in front of a class, but your classmates are all your close friends. So you’re kinda up there not knowing whether to put on an act (because your friends will know you’re performing) or to be super casual. But you can’t be super casual because you’re up in the front with a project! So you have to do SOME kind of show-
I was nodding so hard reading this as if you’re, like, sitting right next to me and can see my head moving lmaooo. BUT YES YES YES YES YES. Couldn’t have said that better myself. Especially about the behind the scene stuff.
Like, whenever he talks to the camera guy like “did you get that?” Or telling Hann how to enter and not to do a sigh etc. feel like we’re seeing him produce something. Like a “blooper real” or “the making of” something. But that “something” is the very thing that we are watching. So we’re seeing the product AND the process. Or as Matty would succinctly put it “it’s all a bit meta”
I 100% agree with The Office example. Idk if you’ve seen it, but the British sitcom “Peep Show” is Matty’s favorite, and it’s not like The Office, in that there’s no camera but like we do get to hear the character’s internal thoughts and stuff. I feel like Matty’s partially influence by that too. Like the difference between the performance and the intimate is that the intimate is like what you said “inside his brain” and the performance is how he interacts with the world but we’re kinda seeing him for the inside so we get to see both.
It’s a fuckin cool concept and deserves to be seen by more people outside of the 75 fandom honestly. Like film geeks would dig this.

I love how the theme for Mr. Lonely is not just the 60’s like I thought it was. The black & white in the beginning is representing the 60’s and then when it switches to color it’s the 70’s and finally the last scenes with the chic black fits is representing the 80’s. I didn’t know that until I watched the behind recording. I think that’s really cool and the members themselves as well as the director praised the team for getting everything so accurate they did the research and it was such a cool like thing to see it all come together. I know I’ve seen a lot of retro concepts in kpop but idk this mv and concept felt different and I love it so much. And these guys are truly comedians they are so funny. They had to pretend to play the instruments and watching that was funny. They are so kind and maybe it’s professional or maybe they are just genuine and sweet gentleman but they really appreciated and thanked the director and the producer and the team and the girl who was in the mv as a vj, Poom was completely simping as he should but they just all seemed very kind and appreciative of the team and everything that went into the mv and the producing and both the director and the producer had positive things to say. Idk it was refreshing to me. I just really love the the team did research down to making it black & white like what tv was back then. I love love the burgundy/red suits they all look great and I think they all liked the suits too especially the 80’s inspired I think Poom and Erwin loved the black suits a lot. AND NICE LOOKED SO GOOD THROUGHOUT THE SHOOT THERE’S SOMETHING ABOUT HIM THAT I ABSOLUTELY ADORE. And he fell asleep and it was so cute :(

and we are back at it again with the sonadow headcanons bc they always come back to haunt me and honestly i dont even mind it LMAO
--------------------------------
ok so ik in one of my headcanons i wrote, i said something about sonic keeping shadow's inhibitor rings, and had begun to wear them when shadow was 'gone', and continued to wear them when shadow 'came back'. but moving on, i can imagine that the same effects happen to whoever the wearer is, the effects aren't limited to just shadow. when sonic wears them, he knows and feels his power is now limited, as he made this choice to wear them, and when he takes them off his power drastically increases, exactly like shadow's. (idk i just find it hella cool where there's like an epic battle scene and both sonic and shadow take off their inhibitor rings and go absolutely nuts on whoever their target is hella fucking awesome to think about)
this also goes for chips bracelet, however i imagine something different for the bracelet. once sonic is long gone, and all that shadow has left to remember sonic by is chip's bracelet, he also begins to wear it on his person constantly. although, in my theory, the bracelet can only be passed onto/wore to someone the wearer held great regard for, and if the wearer tries to give it to someone they aren't fond of, the bracelet will become unresponsive until wore again by either a companion of the wearer or the current wearer themself. now, i also imagine that the inhibitor rings and the bracelet have opposite effects. the inhibitors limit while the bracelet enhance any sort of abilities the wearer may have. so, for example, chip's bracelet increases shadow's usage of chaos energy, and thus when he takes off his inhibitor rings WITH the bracelet still goes on, he goes fucking FERAL, like there is NO STOPPING THIS MAN
once both sonic and shadow get older, the color of their fur start to fade/become lighter. this is way less prominent with shadow compared to sonic, but it still happens. obviously sonic's fur becomes a lighter shade of blue overtime, and with sonic absolutely HATING the fact that he's becoming old, purchases dye and starts dying his quills. shadow makes fun of sonic a few times for doing such a tedious process, but even shadow, THE ULTIMATE LIFE FORM HIMSELF, starts noticing his own lighter hairs and begins to become wary of them. so now sonic makes fun of shadow when HE begins purchasing dye. they both just laugh about it in the end, and begin to help each other out with the dying process :]
like all or most couples, you begin to pick up habits from the other, and vice versa. this definitely happens with sonic and shadow, and MY GOD i think this concept is so great. once sonic catches himself saying something shadow would say, or acting in a way shadow would act towards something, he always ends up laughing at himself. when shadow catches himself doing things sonic would say or do, he usually just sighs and says, "look at what this idiot has done to me."
you don't have to agree with me on this but,,,shadow is DEFINITELY a wine connoisseur. like there's NO WAY he isn't. any minor thing that happens to shadow and he's just like "yk what, i need a glass of red burgundy rn." sonic, on the other hand, doesn't really care for wine but will definitely have a small glass when with shadow. sonic isn't really a alcohol connoisseur but he definitely knows some good wines (thanks to shadow) and good beers (thanks to his curiosity) that he recommends when asked.
IM LITERALLY WATCHING AN ASSASSIN'S CREED GAMEPLAY VIDEO AS IM WRITING THIS SECTION BUT bro, sonic in the pirate au combined with some assassin's creed? FUCKING GOAT. i feel like the lore from assassin's creed black flag would definitely fit the sonic au the most so imma write about it just a TINY BIT.
shadow is definitely a version of edward. starting off as a very low ranked pirate, and thus moving on to become one of the most influential pirates of his era.
i imagine that sonic and shadow came into contact on and off with eachother during their childhood, shadow always being sheltered and hidden from the eyes of the public, as he was birthed into a family filled with riches, and sonic being birthed into a low class family.
shadow ofc would run away with a very constructed plan, which worked. sonic would do the same but he just flat out was like "mom, dad, im done here bye lmao" and BOOKED IT. so ofc, they went their own separate ways for a while.
but when shadow's name began to become known, they reunited, and sonic joined in arms along side shadow, and doing a little oath/vow where both said "till death is near, our adventures shall never end."
----------------------------------------------------------
idek how many of these I've done already but i licherally dgaf these are so fun and fresh to make. ALSO my inbox/dms are open so feel free to gimme some suggestions, etc!!!!
hope y'all enjoyed these!!!!
(also if u guys want me 2 expand more on the ac black flag/sonic pirate au i totally fucking will i think its such a cool concept HA)

So, I meant to post this after watching last week’s episodes, but I kinda forgot, so here we are, with my thoughts and theories from last week’s and this week’s episodes!
WARNING! This will have spoilers for the two new Owl House and Amphibia episodes, so just skip this post if you don’t want to see them!
The Owl House Season 2 Episode 11:
*I love the format of starting some of the episodes with Luz’s diary entries, but having to watch Luz come up with reasons to convince her mom that the Boiling Isles is a great place, but everything going wrong, was tough to watch
*I thought seeing King without his skull was the worst thing I’d see. I was wrong. So wrong. Hooty as a skeleton will haunt my nightmares forever
*Every single Lumity moment in this episode killed me! Not just the adorable moments at the beginning, with the blushing and CHEEK KISS, but also the moments where Luz opened up to Amity about her struggles
*Seeing Luz get so excited about Eda and Raine warmed my heart so much!
*Can we talk about how Amity didn’t go through Luz’s phone and respected her privacy? Representation of healthy relationships for the win!
*I lost my mind when we got the Amity and Willow interaction! I have been waiting for a one on one moment between them for so long, and we got it and it was so good! Also, Willow getting her new hairy style from Amity because it was probably something that they used to do as kids I’m just sfgsdhjdghhgg
*I love Terra’s design! She is such a cool and interesting character, and I’m excited to see more of her
*Then there was the scenes with Eda and Raine, which took my heart and stomped all over it. It was so awful to watch, especially when you know they’re both hurting. Honestly, though, I’m still not sure if Raine is under a spell, and they’ve actually forgotten, or if they were forced to push Eda away and fake it.
*Seeing more of Kikimora’s character was so cool, and I’m so intrigued to see what her development will be like, whether she’ll get redemption or not
*What’s up with this Unity Day plan?! We already knew that Unity Day had something to do with getting rid of wild magic, but how could Belos get rid of all wild magic in one go? And how will it involve the Coven leaders? Does the portal have anything to do with it? There are still so many questions!
The Owl House Season 2 Episode 12:
*Luz and Lilith being able to show their nerdy sides with each other was everything I never knew that I needed
*It was so cool hearing more about Eda’s family’s background, and how they were known for making palisman!
*Call me a nerd, but I love time travel stuff! However, the hidden time pools leading to different time periods was one of the most interesting concepts I’ve ever seen! Plus, that moment when Lilith tripped over a rock, but it was actually herself looking through one of the time pools?! I loved it
*Okay, so at this point, there is no doubt in my mind that Belos is Phillip. I mean, his hatred towards witches, especially wild witches, the glyphs on his arm that reminded me a bit of Belos’s condition, and absorbing the palisman at the end of the episode. I’ve had this theory for a while, but this pretty much confirms it for me
*One thing I’m still unsure about, but very intrigued by, is this other human with Phillip. I feel like it’s Hunter, or Hunter is somehow connected to it. But, then there’s also the theory that Hunter is a grim walker. I’m torn between the two. Unless, possible crazy theory, but hear me out: Hunter was the other human, but something happened to him, and Belos created the grim walker to be sort of like a replacement for him, which is maybe why he’s a witch, but can’t use magic? Idk, just throwing something out there
*So, Lilith thought the village in the past was going to be dangerous because of wild magic, but it was actually a very pleasant and beautiful place, unlike present day Bonesborough…How are we all feeling about that?
* I’m also very interested in how Lilith and Luz interacting with Philip will change things?! Like, if Philip is Belos, will they be the reason why he started hating wild witches, or what pushed him closer to where he is now?! Will we see any changes in the present? Idk man, but there could be some really cool things there
*Eda’s reunion with her dad? Seeing how the guilt has been weighing on Eda all these years, especially with how it impacted her dad’s work with carving palisman? Eda and her dad carving Owlbert together?! I’m totally fine 😭
Amphibia Season 3 Episode 11
*What’s better than one character worrying about her parent/s and how she’ll have to eventually choose between two worlds and say goodbye to one? Two characters! Watching Anne have to deal with that pain throughout the entire episode was awful, but at least she got to say goodbye to them before she left
*That ending. Why. I knew it was coming, but it still hurt. And now we’ll have to see everyone go through the aftermath of the destruction of Amphibia, and the guilt of having left it behind
*I adore Anne’s parents so much! That’s it. I just love them
*Seeing all the characters from this season come together was so cool, and I loved seeing all the interactions between them
*Every time Anne uses her powers, UGHH, it’s so cool, but that last time was especially interesting, because know we know that she can, in a way, generate energy, like a human battery, and I wonder if that’s another clue as to where the power came from, and what exactly it is. From Anne’s comment earlier in the season, about how she got a bad feeling from using it, I’m not sure if this power is gonna be a positive thing. Also, I can’t wait to see the other powers!
Amphibia Season 3 Episode 12
*I loved seeing Anne and the Planters’ reaction to what’s happened in Amphibia since they left. Was I devastated? Yes. Was I also very intrigued? Also yes
*I am so excited about the new vibe of the show and the direction it’s going in with the resistance and the war against King Andrias, especially with the different missions they went on
*The resistance was so cool, and it was really interesting to see how they live as a society underground, and see the world that they’ve built
*I thought it was so funny to see the Planters have to readjust to Amphibia after being in Anne’s world for so long, and all those moments made me laugh
*It was amazing to see Sasha’s growth, and how she was trying to be a better friend to Anne and start to fix their relationship
*I’m really growing to love Sasha as a character, and seeing not only her growth, but also see her personality show through. The flag waving was adorable!
*Sprig and Ivy are adorable as a couple
*Okay, but those collars were crazy, and it was such an interesting detail to show how King Andrias has changed Amphibia. I’m curious (and slightly afraid) to see how else the world has changed
Sorry for the long post! Let me know what you guys thought about the episodes! I’d love to hear everyone else’s reactions and theories

jujutsu sorcerer!reader; haikyuu boys
requested by anon(s): haikyuu boys with a crush on a jujutsu sorcerer, and being saved by them
pairings; hinata shōyō x reader, kuroo tetsurō x reader, tsukishima kei x reader, kozume kenma x reader
genre; fluff
warnings; some mentions of death
Tumblr media
hinata shōyō
to hinata, you probably stand out more than you’d think
idk why but i love love love the concept of hinata having like a completely opposite s/o kagehina. as in, i can see him so well with an alt!s/o or a goth!s/o. i can’t explain it it just works so well in my head
the fact that you were so mysterious and quiet really, and i mean really, peaked his interest. unlike literally any other character, he is nosy, and he wants to know why and how and when and who you are, so he does make effort to talk to you often
you always kinda just smile at him and give him one word replies. it’s not that you don’t like him, it’s more that you’re here for a reason and you don’t want him to get caught up in the middle of it all. you’d hate for something to happen to someone as pure as him
your attitude towards does not throw him off in the least. he’ll just want to get to know you even more
one of his upperclassmen, like tanaka or noya, probably notice and try telling him things about you to kinda back him off of you because they’re scared of you lowkey
ik i used this scenario before but it fits hinata too; we all know he stays late to practice often, so it isn’t a surprise or it isn’t too odd that he stays yet another day until the sun has long since set. you’d only known he was in the volleyball club in passing, but you didn’t know him well enough to anticipate that he’d be in the gym this late
the most remote place, and the closest too, that you could think of at literally nine pm was the boys’ gymnasium, so you’d led the curse there in hopes of driving it away from other people around it. you hadn’t expected that you’d be leading the curse straight to another target
hinata was the only one there, too, so it wouldn’t be too difficult to attack him
one moment, he’s just tossing the ball against the wall and receiving it, the next the gymnasium is being broken into by some creature from above, followed by you and your angry yells
you were really focused on the curse, prepared to battle it and exorcise it, before you finally spot him. he’s frozen, the ball dropped from his hand and rolling away from him. the way he’s staring at you, and the way he keeps eyeing the creature in fear, it clicks something in you, you don’t know what
but you don’t give the curse a chance to even try and attack, immediately charging at it and exorcising it quickly, defeating it right away. it dies away with an agonizing yell and you’re pretty sure this’ll count as trauma for the poor kid before he rushes towards you, grasping your wrists and staring at you like you just hung the moon in the sky
“what the hell was that that was so cool oh my god can you do it again can you teach me how to do it you are so badass —“
like baby breathe omg
even the way you laughed at him was intimidatingly hot he was a goner !!!
now that he knows of your nature, it attaches him to your hip. you can’t get rid of him anymore but it’s okay he’s literally sunshine in human form
as a duo, and as romantic partners, you really are complete opposites, but that’s why you fit so well together you know!
if you can conjure up something like the divine dogs like megumi, expect him to constantly pester you for them <3
kuroo tetsurō
listen, he knew you were a little odd from the moment you joined nekoma. like there was no doubt about it there was something off about you. he had some type of feeling that you weren’t really here for the education you know?
but the rational side of him convinced himself he wanted to live in some type of movie so he dropped it
he does try to get to know you, though, yeah, of course he had to fall for that one person that no one knows anything about
kuroo’s just trynna be the main character lmfao
with kuroo, he actually succeeds in growing closer to you. i mean who can resist him? no one
it starts off simple, he’d invite you to games, sit with you during lunch, before it escalates more into walking you home some days, inviting you over during weekend games, inviting you over at outings with his friends
more often than not, especially when said outings happened during nighttime, you’d decline. he didn’t really think much of it though, he just let you be, you know?
then, one time, you decide to go for it.
he invites you out to the movies with some of the vbc boys, and you accept. you figure you being gone for a few hours won’t hurt anyone, and it wasn’t like there aren’t any other jujutsu sorcerers available in tokyo. it’s a big city, you rationalize
halfway through the movie, something feels off, and as a sorcerer, you know to trust your gut instinct, so you excuse yourself to the bathroom to check the area out. kuroo, having felt like something wasn’t right with you, and being slightly worried himself, goes after you.
turns out you were right. two people had already died by the time you come to the alleyway behind the theatre, and there’s a curse hovering by their bodies. you’re slower to react because of the initial shock, and when you see kuroo coming out of the same backdoor you’d just left out of, your body entirely freezes
until the curse jumps to attack him, and in a flash, you’re by his side, kicking away at the curse, watching as it smashes roughly against a wall
kuroo’s immediately asking questions, but you can’t exactly focus on him at the moment. you prioritize eliminating and exorcising the curse first, and when that’s done and dusted, you lead kuroo away from the theatre
he’s very shaken by the whole scene, especially after having seen two corpses
that night, you lead him to your home, and he stays there. he keeps you up all night, but it’s understandable. throughout it all, you reassure him of his safety constantly, telling him that you’d never let anyone or anything ever hurt him
it’s what brings you two closer together
because that incident had been his introduction to that specific world, he grows very wary anytime you’re sent out on missions, but you always come back home to him, and that’s what matters <3
tsukishima kei
please tsukki with a crush is hilarious cause he’s so bad at expressing his feelings
you’re actually really similar to him in that you’re quiet and that you don’t really appreciate talking and conversing to others. you tend to keep to yourself, and he really respects that, like deep down
he thought you were just a really timid person until he snaps at you once and you snap back. and then it was like everything that has ever happened to him led to this moment right here because what the fucsjdhwf
the fact that he recognized his feelings for you kinda made him even warier of you. like his scowl is deeper and his bite is harsher, but that’s really only because he does not know how to deal with these emotions. like he has a bad way of expressing them correctly
you two build this small relationship between you. it’s like a teasing thing, where it’s literally just all bark and no bite. it’s lowkey fun, and you grow to appreciate his presence
he doesn’t really question it when you miss days of schools, or when you return the days after that all bandaged and bruised. he figures it’s not his business to ask questions like that, and just continues to observe you from afar
anyways! one night he’s walking home, all alone, peacefully, before he sees you dash by him, being chased by??? what the fuck is that???
tsukki just pauses, but he’s not even like scared or worried he’s just confused and a little amused tbh. he stands in place while his eyes follow your movements as you allow the creature to chase at you, before you make a sharp turn and hit it, sending it flying back
except, you hadn’t realized the direction you’d hit it at
the curse goes flying at tsukki, and he’s just staring at it like, “hm,” not moving an inch. he’s trynna give you an aneurysm on god
you scream at him to move, but you’re already rushing towards him. as soon as you can, you throw your arms around him and topple him to the ground. you land on top of him, but you don’t get to see his flustered face because you’re off of him way too soon, taking care of the issue at hand
he’s a little surprised at the reason you’re always cut up and bruised, but he can’t say he’s not even a little amazed at just,,, how cool you seem
he’s still on the ground lol and you hit him with “i hope you’re not waiting for me to pick you up.”
“it is your fault i’m on the ground to begin with.”
you help him up
with an eye roll of course
when he’s standing again before you, he just sighs and lifts a finger to his face, as if to indicate to your face. then he says, “that explains all this then,” referring to the bruises painting your skin
your relationship doesn’t change much for a while after that, except that knowing glance he gives you every time you walk into class exhausted
likes to call it monster hunting for some reason
clearly you’re the only one out of the two of you with any balls because you’re the one that confesses. thanks for saving him the trouble hehe
he’ll never tell you to your face, but he thinks he is incredibly lucky to have someone as badass as you as his s/o
kozume kenma
kenma probably took note of your exceptional situation for a few, but he didn’t give it much thought initially. like so what if you were super secretive? not like anyone knew much of him himself
it’s not until kuroo or someone points out like, “they’re quite odd, right?” that he starts to pay attention, but he’s not sure why
maybe he’s trying to convince himself and others that you’re not really odd for being the way that you are. just secretive and mysterious and introverted. like. does that make him odd?
he starts to notice things like you staying after school for late, late hours, but not because you’re a part of any club, and things like your missing of school, or how your knuckles are always, always bandaged and wrapped, or how you seemed to be at the oddest of locations at the oddest of times
it’s not really like him to be too interested in what you do, so he doesn’t invest all his thoughts and energy into. he does though dwell over it for a lot longer than you’d think
sometimes, kenma takes a console of his, and heads up his rooftop, because it just feels really safe where nobody and nothing can get to him
he’s proven wrong one night when, in the middle of the game, he hears thumps across the rooftop. he thinks he’s being tricked by the game he’s playing, until he feels something behind him, until the hairs on the nape of his neck stand and a shive runs down his spine because there is something breathing down his neck
and then he hears your all too familiar voice whispering out, “don’t move, please.”
it’s honestly not like he could
he sees you from the corner of his eye move in a flash, and suddenly, when the feeling is gone, he finds himself able to move again, and he turns around
it honestly looks like a scene from a movie, what he’s staring at. you battle the curse so well, and kenma is fully and shamelessly enamored by you and the way you moved so swiftly and efficiently, as you dodge and attack, and as you finally exorcise
like he’s so in awe he has to pinch himself to convince himself he’s not dreaming
when the curse is taken care of, you just slowly approach him, kneeling by his side and asking in a soft voice if he was okay. he decided then and there that no, you were not odd at all. you just saved his life, so,,,
you urge him to go back inside, to stay safe, and he just nods as you lead the way to his window. and when he slips inside, for some reason, he finds it in himself to ask you to stay too
to stay safe, of course
it takes you by surprise a little, but at the genuineness in his eyes, you accept, and stay up playing games with him
and when you greet him in school the next day with a smile and a wave, kenma returns it, just as brightly <3

We did it! We finished Voltron! My friend and I watched the last 3 episodes and we felt no hype 😅. The whole piercing reality is pretty cool but it feels befitting for someone or something else, yknow? Like too much dimension of quintessence can start distortion of universes because it begins to take from others, teaching people to not be greedy, idk. My friend said that in the past 3 episodes, too much was happening at a fast pace which threw her off when Lotoddler and Zarkon were on screen. And the epiphanies! There were so many! She wasn't expecting Honerva to go from "HAHA I HATE YOU ALL" to "Damn, I'm sorry." In like...an 5 minutes. It was crazy. The scene where Allura was saying goodbye, we didn't really feel anything (until I saw Lotor and I started to cry). She was especially confused about the Altean Markings on Lance 🤣 and I told her "everyone was." She agreed that after S6 she basically didn't know what to think of the show anymore other than downhill too quickly. What do you think? (I apologize for this being long!)
Hi, anon! Wow, congratulations to completing it, as VLD is certainly a lot of episodes to binge back-to-back!
Ahh the final episodes. I agree that it feels like so much happens at once, although I don't think the concept of alternate realities or time dilation is inherently alien to the Voltron franchise? (For example, in a previous Voltron iteration written by Brandon Thomas, Lotor was connecting to other realities to access their Voltron mechas to defeat the rift creatures. And then in an even older Voltron iteration written by Josh Blaylock, Lotor and Team Voltron are thrust ~1,000 years into the past to battle Lotor's own ancestor, Empress Jain.) But, to your point, it does seem like VLD didn't give its version of these concepts proper space to be explored.
(Someone please give me a version of VLD where good s8!Zarkon from the alternate universe discovers what is happening and goes back in time/crosses dimensions to kill main Zarkon and save his son/wife/literally everyone by taking responsibility for himself a;sdlfjas)
About Honerva: tbh, I really think they short-changed Sendak a proper villain arc. I don't think it makes sense at all that s6-s8 made Honerva the ultimate Big Bad. Lotor's mother has never been a big bad, her motivations and actions as a big bad are massively contradictory, and if they really wanted "female villain rep," the franchise had Empress Jain or Queen Merla as major players in that arena (and yet all Merla got in VLD was a weirdly disconnected cameo)....
Regarding Lance's Altean marks, I firmly choose to believe they are a homing beacon so that a very not-dead Allura can get back home to her own reality (given that Lance is the only other character alive with a connection to Allura's lion, Blue). It's the only possible explanation that makes sense to me given what we got, lol. But then this explanation heavily contradicts the development team's statements that Allura died, so do with it what you will a;sdfljas Ultimately, I think VLD was a show reliant on its high-quality animation/character design and talented VA cast to carry a mediocre, meandering plot developed in a rush. That said, I still love certain things about this crazy, controversial cartoon. Best thing to do, I think, is just take the concepts that you enjoyed out of it and then celebrate those gems. 🧡 Thanks for the note!

How do you picture the lokius reunion going in season 2? Do you believe in the ‘Sylvie enchanted Loki theory’?
I'm gonna be honest, any time I try to think of season 2 as it's shaping up to be right now I try to imagine the WORST things it could possibly be so maybe if my standards are like...below sea level I won't be shocked or disappointed. But I also, as it stands, don't plan to watch season 2 unless I see something that absolutely compels me to because I don't think the team that exists is interested in writing a show I would like.
So, here are some worst case scenario possibilities I've thought up, really tried to anticipate W*ldron's mediocrity here: 1) Season 2 opens with, inexplicably, Loki deciding he needs to "go find Sylvie" (because according to Tom and the others this -is- the plan) for reasons that really only seem like more of Loki's "she needs me" assertion which is rooted in...nothing. New Mobius helps him do that or something and then disappears from the narrative entirely and no one even cares about old Mobius because this is the S*lki show now okay? 2) idk some other combo of events that ends with Mobius being sidelined/forgotten/reduced to just a few scenes on the side and further pivots Loki into a simp for his female self. My brain starts to melt when I try to anticipate what will actually happen lmao.
Of course...what I'd like to see is a totally different thing, because one can absolutely pull a better plot out of what happened (such as it was) in season one. It's not gonna happen, but it could. Like, it makes more sense to me that Loki's goal at this point would concern the multiverse itself and not necessarily a focus on finding/saving one particular person or another. Everything's been split open now and he's in another timeline entirely than where he came from, so clearly the shit has hit the fan. He may indeed just have a glorious purpose again, just not one that he avidly asked for lol. (and why on earth would he go after Sylvie specifically other than to address this issue? How does that AT ALL make sense after she has made it very clear nothing's happening here? It was a bit of a stretch that Loki would believe she 'needed him' at all, the concept of him still trying to trail after her to 'save' her or win her affections or whatever goal he's supposed to have is unsettling to me for a number of reasons)
As such, my initial Lokius reunion would be bittersweet because it'd be this alternate version of Mobius- one that does not know Loki and has not been groomed to be an expert on them, likely doesn't even know who they are. Maybe Loki goes with Mobius' initial guess that he's an Agent for awhile, but eventually I'd like to see him kinda lose it in a moment of vulnerability and admit the truth to new Mobius; "I knew you before...and you knew me, perhaps with better clarity than I've ever known myself" he admits he was a variant, etc, and when tears start to gather at the reminder that ever again finding the Mobius he knew in the brand new mess that is the open, unregulated multiverse would be like looking for a needle in a haystack, this new Mobius is there for him with just the right words he needs to hear to get back on track.
Okay but at the same time, I'd have us follow the original Mobius in his own subplot on the side. Now that Ravonna's left and Kang has been unseated, maybe his version of the TVA has really started to fall apart (literally, maybe walls are fucking falling down like how cool would the visual of the timekeeper's huge statue heads breaking off and falling several stories be). Him and B-15 realize they need to get the fuck out of there (maybe they take Casey with them bc I love him your honor) and so they do, and thus begins their side journey to the same goal Loki is trying to reach.
I...also just want visuals of OG!Mobius becoming further unwraveled as he travels- his hair could grow out, maybe B-15 helps him learn better hand-to-hand combat with the pruning sticks, he becomes a bit more rugged in that time. And who doesn't want that lol
From there, I'd have both of their plots run side by side until they intersect somewhere towards the third act of the season, ideally in the middle of a heated moment, or maybe this one idea I have of them both trying to sneak around/into some kind of fortress or lair that is of importance, trying to stay hidden from enemies, until they end up just bumping into each other lol.
And even more fun, both of them knows the multiverse is split and perhaps prior to this both of them have met multiple versions of each other, so neither of them realizes at least at first that this is -the- original thing, not aided by the fact that Mobius' hair has grown out and he's wielding pruning sticks like num-chuks lmao (thank you fan art!)
"M-Mobius...! Well...-a- Mobius anyway..." (he pulls out his dagger and holds it as Mobius throat) "So? Are you friend or foe, Mobius?"
But Mobius has the sharp end of a pruning stick against Loki's abdomen before he can do anything.
"I could ask the same of you."
(and then they spar and it's kind of sexual tension-y/almost playful like they're both enjoying it more than anything, until one or the other says something that only the OG version would know about)
As for the enchanting theory; I am not at all confident that this will manifest as a thing in canon, as it seems the writers really want to believe Loki's behavior can just be explained by 'he somehow fell in love with someone he knew for 12 hours despite having trust issues'. However, it indisputably makes sense with what's happened already and would be a very powerful way to kick-off the second season and reconcile some of the weird choices made in the first one. So yeah, I -want- to believe it. I believe a writer worth their salt would take advantage of it, but that's not anyone who works on this show so probably won't happen.
Thankfully Lokius has a huge, extremely talented fandom that have carried on their story better than Marvel could ever hope to with the millions, billions of dollars they have at their disposal. Absolutely tragic lol.
