The ringing wasn’t that annoying, mostly because it meant his favourite guest had arrived.

“Meow.”

And there he is, with the little charm on his collar. Steve has no idea how it makes a jingling sound but it’s so cute, he doesn’t really care.

“Hello precious,” Steve greets and opens his windows out to let the black cat in. Robin always complains and calls it a hazard, but she also baby-talks to him so Steve doesn’t take it to heart.

But the cat doesn’t come in. He stares at Steve with wide eyes, eyes as red as the jewel of his charm. Huh. He didn’t know cat eyes could be red.

The cat meows again and hops out of the window. Steve takes his coat, locks his front door and steps out. The cat meows again, hopping along the street and Steve follows.

“Meow.”

Steve blinks. The cold air has finally hit his skin and has him shivering except – he’s been cold for a while, hasn’t he? He’s been – he’s been walking for a while, his legs ache so much. Steve looks around, the shadows of the empty road crawling around him, and realizes he must have left town ten minutes ago.

How –

The cat.

The one that always came to their window and asked to be let in, the one he followed all this way.

Where is it?

“Aren’t you a little far from home?”

Steve swivels around, hand grasping out for – for what?

A man smiles at him from the middle of the road. It’s too dark to see his face but he can see his eyes.

Pretty, pretty red.

“What are you doing here, stranger?” the man asks as he holds his hand out, crooking a finger in a ‘come-hither’ kind of way.

Steve stumbles over. “I – I was following this cat, where –“

The man’s (pretty, so pretty) red eyes widen, and he barks out a laugh. Steve smiles with him. “A cat, huh? In this cold? Oh, you poor thing.”

The moment he said that, the chill of the wind bit at Steve’s ears, and he shudders.

“Oh no,” the man tuts. He steps closer to Steve, pulling him in by his waist and adjust his own thick, fur coat around the both of them. “Is that better, sweetheart?”

Steve smiles, and he knows it’s his dopiest one because it’s the one that would always make people laugh and call him an idiot.

The man’s smile drops and his (beautiful, bloody) eyes flare angrily. He holds Steve even closer, even tighter, and Steve feels so warm. “They’re not worth it, sweetheart. We’re here now.”

Nuzzling into his neck, Steve sighs happily.

“That’s it, darlin’,” the man murmurs and he sighs too. “You don’t even remember me, but I’ve been so lonely without you.”

“Without me?” Steve frowns and goes to look at the man, Eddie, in the eye but a cold, clawed hand presses his face back into the warm skin. “Why were you without me?”

“It doesn’t matter anymore, does it?” Eddie chuckles and Steve hums. “You’ve got me now and I’ve got you. Just like we said.”

Steve peeks over Eddie’s shoulder, where the lights of the town fade into the shadows. Just like they said.

Blue Moon

Once in a while the Moon is blue. Once in a while the Moon wonders where he still has left to go.

He might sit in the quiet for a little while, humming and clicking and whirring subconsciously where the shadows stand still, where it’s safe, where the light won’t blind and the sound won’t deafen and there’s no such thing as night and day.

Today is one of those days. Staring back at him from the foot of the otherwise perfectly tidy storage block that sits up against the daycare wall is a small, toppled creature with a face that looks like his, except when it doesn’t.

He’d seen himself in that doll for the longest time, thought it a strange reflection staring back at him, its round smiling face a eternal reminder that he was one of them. That, at one point, at the very least, he was meant to be seen. Reaching out into the light, he scoops it up, today more like a distorted funhouse mirror than any sort of thing he recognised, its features even-tempered and welcoming where his own uncanny glance sends children screaming into the night for his counterpart to pick up the pieces. And he never cared, not on any other day, but today he’s more blue than ever. Today he has to wonder why it looks so smug.

And his body ventures out into the dimly lit daycare, crooked and unnerving in every step it takes, and he goes through the motions of a playful little dance he only does these days when he’s about to silence something that’s stirring when it shouldn’t be, as he tucks the hapless doll that shared his face once back into one of the little alcoves where no one will find it. And he sits down on the toy barrel that would scream most days if you upset it in the slightest, and he lets out a sharp little strangled sound like broken glass that could be a laugh or a sob.

(And that’s all I’ve got so far! It’s a blue moon, so I’ve been thinking about Moon maybe feeling blue from time to time, his feelings which he normally masks pretty excellently behind his smile going a bit ��off-kilter for a bit, and everything affecting him a bit more than it usually would)

#shep arts #content smp #csmp #arathain #mason arathain #tw eyestrain #cw gore #<- its very mild I’d say. i kinda just fucked up one of their arms... in my defense it was annoying to draw so I just didnt draw part of it #the eyestrain isnt too bad either in my opinion i just wanted to tag it just in case #honestly just tell me if this needs more tws I'm awful at knowing what I need to trigger warning and what I dont #okay uh art rambling time so i made him a bug for this one honestly just cause i thought it looked neat #this was a really fun for a drawing that took like an hour to sketch and a million years to finish #it's just an experiment in coloring a lil different and using layer styles other than multiply and add...#there are add and multiply layers in there if i remember correctly but its mainly color/linear burns and hard/soft light i think #fun fact there was supposed to be more paint but uhm I got lazy and it was already a pain trying to balance the values on this one #so yeah its just the pink splatter behind his head there. imagine that there's more pink paint there for me pretty please #I have a dozen versions of this with various overlay layers will probably end up adding those to this post in a rb or something #this post was supposed to go up earlier but yeah I was comparing overlays for like two hours...#honestly im surprised my procreate didnt crash in the middle of this since it crashes everytime I do anything with a lot of overlays #it did die immediately after I finished it though so then I had to wait several hours to just sign the damn thing :/

but please do not repost my edits/artwork separately and on other sites (especially instagram/pinterest/twitter/facebook/reddit etc) unless with permission, and in those cases please credit/tag and link to the original post.

If you'd like to use my edits for your project, I'd be more than happy to collaborate, but again please ask me first and credit/tag me!! I enjoy collaborating with people but it feels kinda bad if you take my work without asking especially if you know what its like to put effort into creating work for fun/fandom??

Although it may not always look like it, I put time and effort into making edits for fun and I'd prefer to be able to know where my work is and have it not taken out of context/used for monetary gain.

If I wanted to post my work on other social media I would post it myself ^^;;

the blue ones are bookmarked for nano prep (i wanna write something fucked up about space this year, i think, it's still cooking). i know it's early for that, but The Vibes™ have to marinate for a while. will probably add some haunted house books to this part of the list!

lastly, the purple ones are driscoll adjacent! filling my words well with related vibes worked well, this year, and i want to do that again next year. since i read through the entirety of my previous ~driscoll vibes~ stack last year, i've been restocking it, so most of these are very recently purchased.

Idk if anyone has asked this before but I just was wondering... when it comes to Gary & Efnisien being intimate with eachother... would Gary call Efnisien (or any alpha Gary would be with) "Alpha" ? Like in dirty talk...

Hi anon!

So... so one of the benefits of me writing my own omegaverse is that I don't have to do the things I really don't like that are tropes in omegaverse, and I am so so sorry, but that includes anyone saying 'alpha' instead of just saying a person's name, because it feels super dehumanising whenever I see it, and I can't see a way to make it happen and not feel gross while writing it.

So the reason it won't happen is not necessarily because these characters wouldn't do it, but because I find it super squicky, and it's one of the things that makes me skip omegaverse sex scenes (there are literally omegaverse books I find totally unreadable because of this - depending on how quickly an omega no longer recognises their alpha as anything other than pheromones and a cock and completely dehumanises them in the process. It's just... I write plenty of kinks I don't share, but I can't write the kinks I actively loathe).

I am happy for other folks to like copy a version of the sex scene/s for themselves and take out Efnisien's name in a document and put in 'Alpha' instead if they'll find it hotter, and save that on their computer / phone / wherever to read in the future. I just can't personally make myself do it, and I can't write a world where this would happen.

Gary's never called a single one of his alpha partners 'Alpha' in the moment, as dirty talk, unless he's saying whole sentences like: 'I do rather enjoy taking down an alpha like yourself' - which is quite different to the way it's written in omegaverse stories.

So yeah, I apologise, I can't stand the whole... 'we say alpha / omega as dirty talk' thing, to me it's as weird as making love to a guy and saying 'Male, oh Male, Male you are so hot. Male you are really hot.' God, I'm just imagining a world where folks say 'Oh Nonbinary, Nonbinary you are so hot, Nonbinary I want you inside me' and I don't want to live in that world and I'm glad I don't have to write that kind of world, as a nonbinary person, I'd really someone just use endearments and not the flat statement of my gender lmao.

To me it's like... actually just the opposite of dirty talk x.x

Ok. Time to combine my brain worms. Kitagoro and old anime. That Combattler V cameo had me thinking about them watching old anime together.

So here is a list of some I think they would watch together:

Rose of Versailles. It's a good watch to get emotional with your husband and be gripped by the drama!

Combattler V. It was already on TV in that one scene. I also just think they'd see various old super robot anime because the designs make Kitaoka think of Magnugiga. I can also see them watching real robot ones too.

Legend of The Galactic Heroes. I dare you to look me in the eyes and tell me Kitaoka wouldn't be a snob over how he loves this one. And would go on about how he has immaculate taste, and how he owns it all on Laserdisc. Because he absolutely would.

Lupin The Third. It's a fun watch with lots to pick from. Would be good over a nice meal by Goro too.

Dirty Pair. The two would debate who is the better of the lovely angels. I personally headcanon Goro to be on Team Kei, and Kitaoka on Team Yuri.
