A/N - look I actually tried really hard on this and I lowkey wanna make a pt2 to this so please tell me if y’all would want it! Feel free to request a prompt!
"Isn't he so cute!"
"I'm going to marry him someday."
"Sasuke is so cool!"
Hearing his name you couldn't help but roll your eyes. You couldn't stand his attitude even at your young age. It was always someone trying to one up the other, whether it be you excelling in your chakra control or him beating someone else in seconds in a sparring match. You hated him, you hated his attitude and you hated how every girl would throw herself in front of a kunai for him. You hated Sasuke Uchiha and he hated you.
Your feelings towards him weren't one sided either, he could've left you alone but no, he had to bother you any chance he got. Clearly he developed damage to his brain where he can't learn to develop the skills of empathy and self control.
The teasing wasn't that bad, it was the shitty tricks he'd pull and act like it wasn't him. If you wanna pull a prank on someone at least take ownership instead of being a pussy. Did you just call a 12 year old a pussy? Yes. Yes you did. Sasuke Uchiha at 12 years old was a pussy and you've told him that to his face too.
                                          ~~~
"You're leaving." You say as more of a statement than a question. You look at the brooding kid in front of you, his hand on his backpack strap tightening as he stares angrily at you.
"What does it matter to you?"
"It doesn't but-"
"Then shut up and mind your business." He interjects quickly causing you to stare daggers at him.
"You're a pussy." You push off from the wall you were leaning on and brush past him. "You were weak during exams and you're weak now." You begin to walk away past him when his grips the collar of your shirt and slams you back into the wall you were on. "Hey asshole!-"
"Shut. The. Fuck. Up." He cuts you off, his face only mere inches from you.
"You wanna kiss pretty boy?" You shove him away as hard as you can creating some distance between the two of you. "Just get the fuck out of the village already."
And so he did.
You couldn't feel any happier once Sasuke was out of the village. The pain in your ass wasn't there anymore and you felt like you didn't need to prove yourself as the top of your class anymore even though you have been graduated from the academy for over two years. You were perfectly fine without him, everyone else he supposedly made 'friends' with, if he was even able to make actual friends that is; they were worried, suddenly wanting to go out and retrieve him like he was taken. Once again Sasuke was the top priority to everyone minds.
You couldn't care less about Sasuke Uchiha.
                                      ~~~
He hasn't crossed your mind on your own accord in years. You hadn't seen him in years, you know he's still a topic around the village but you tend to zone everyone out when he gets brought up and at this point in time it's been working. Out of sight, out of mind, he could have gotten himself killed in a random battle and you don't think you'd shed a single tear for him.
You hear a bang at your front door which catches your attention immediately, you go to ignore it thinking it's the neighbor's kid across from your apartment kicking the ball they had against your door until the banging becomes repetitive, the more bangs coming from the other side of the door the louder they became. You swing the door open looking to see who or what was the cause of the annoying noise only to be shoved to the side into the door frame. "What the hell!" You raise your voice grabbing the wrist of who barged in, you get overpowered and pulled back into your apartment and the door gets slammed. You look up at the intruder who shoved his way into your home and see him. "Sasuke?"
Sasuke looks frustrated to say the least. He has the same signature scowl he's always had on his face and the same posture with his arms crossed over his chest while looking around your apartment. There doesn't seem to be a difference in the way he looks at you either, the same hatred behind his eyes as always, even with him being the one rudely shoving his way inside.
"(Y/N)." He said simply with nothing coming after. You waited a few moments if he was just trying to be dramatic with his entrance. He never said anything after that.
"Why are you back in the village?"
"I'm not." You roll your eyes and huff a sigh.
"Why are you here in my apartment then?" You mimic his body and cross your arms over your chest, his head turns to face you and his eyes stare at you intensely. You'd say you were used to this but after so many years you've grown unaccustomed to the look he used to give you because it was nothing like this.
"I'm here to talk, I need to-"
"Why am I supposed to care what you need?" You  insert before he's done speaking. He huffs a breath and soon enough his eyes shoot the daggers you remember.
"I don't expect you to I just need-"
"How about you tell me why you left the village in the first place?" You cut him off mid sentence once again. You don't care about his needs, you don't care about him at all, but you'd like some answers. "Was it like everyone was saying? That you just wanted to grow stronger? So did you find it? Did you get stronger like you wanted?"
"That doesn't matter I don't need to answer that right now, you clearly already know the answer to that." He rolls his eyes and let his arms fall from his chest.
Sasuke was never a man of many words, he was never a man at all he was just a little boy, but with his responses you can't help but bug him about it. Call it being nosy or call it you always zoning everyone out the second you hear his name so you never actually found out the reasoning for him abandoning the village.
"So you're still weak? You're still that little kid who does nothing but bitch and complain about wanting revenge. You may have grown up in these last few years but you're still that sad, pathetic, weakling-" Your shoulders are shoved and pinned to the wall behind you in a moment, you gasp out at the sudden jolt in your back and look up at the angry ravenette.
"Shut up." He growls lowly and if looks could kill, not that he could but you'd probably drop dead if he wished it.
"Make me you prick." You look at him, your stare unwavering as the pressure on your shoulders feels tighter.
There is no sound in your home but everything seems to be buzzing in your ears. Sasuke's face only inches from yours, seemingly just like when he left the village. You feel a sudden wave of nostalgia if you can even call it that as it wasn't a fond memory to think back on. You wait for his response, you look into his eyes and can't decipher what's going on in his head. His grip on your shoulders loosen before he crashes his lips onto yours, his hand now finding a place onto the back of your neck to pull you even closer to him.
Your eyes widen in shock as you don't kiss him back. The kiss surprising you but what is even more of a shock is who is kissing you. You feel him pull away and the look he gives you is mixed with annoyance and frustration. "Just kiss me back." He pauses and smirks, "Or are you too much of a pussy." Your eyes darken with anger as he used your insult to him against yourself. He doesn't wait for your answer before he pulls you back to his lips, you instantly kissing back.
The kiss was hard and the only emotion behind it was the hatred you feel towards him. Your lips molded together as you two kissed, his hand found it's way from the back of your neck to tangling itself in your hair while you felt his grip tighten sending a tingling sensation to your scalp. He took the opportunity to slide his tongue in heating the kiss up in an instant.
You could feel him press against you, his leg sliding between yours and pressing against your clothed core, a small sound comes out but is quickly swallowed down by him. His lips leave yours to slowly kiss down your jaw, it was excruciatingly slow the way he kissed you, from your jaw to your neck to the sweet spot he found almost instantly. You bit back a moan but he made sure to take his time marking up your neck.
The feeling of his thigh was hard to push to the back of your mind, all you could feel was Sasuke and what he was doing to you. You hate him, you hate how he's making you react right now and you hate at how good he is and neither of you have even taken a single piece of clothing off of each other yet. You hate even more the needy words that come out of your mouth next.
"Bedroom." You say almost breathlessly, you could feel the smirk he gives against your neck before quickly going back to your lips. His hands slide to your waist and pull you to him and walk you back not daring to break from the kiss. He pushes open one door and you feel your ass bump into something hard and cold, you pull away from him to see you backed up against your washing machine. "You idiot, this is the wrong room." You roll your eyes and walk past him going into your bedroom.
"How the fuck was I supposed to know that it's not like I've been in your apartment." He scoffs following you and kicking the door shut.
"Oh I bet you must've dreamed-" your words were short lived as he spun you around and kissed you quieting you down.
Kissing Sasuke wasn't like all the books you've read, it wasn't sweet, it wasn't like being with your ex's when you were in love. His kiss was full of passion, it's a kiss of desire and a feeling of pent up frustrations he nor you have been able to let out. Frustrations at each other, at the world, at everything. Sasuke was a damn good kisser too which annoyed you even further.
His lips left yours to tug off your top, the fabric quickly being discarded to a random corner in your room. His eyes ate your figure up, seeing how your breasts layed there perfectly in your bra you were wearing. A low groan left his lips as he went to kiss up your chest, his fingers hooking onto the waistband of your skirt and started to tug it down past your thighs pooling around your ankles. You quickly kicked them away and pulled at his shirt. "Off." You demand and he takes no time in removing his shirt before pushing you back to the edge of the bed and dropping to his knees."
"Spread." He now is the one demanding. You go to spread your legs before pausing and closing them causing a confused look to cross his face.
"This doesn't change anything between us. I still hate you." His confusion quickly deadpans before shaking his head.
"God shut up." He spreads your legs and pushes your panties to the side before slowly swiping his thumb along your slit and pressing it to your clit causing you to gasp. "You're soaked." It was more of a statement than anything but feeling his thumb start to roll little circles on your clit sent a shockwave up your body. You watched him as he stared at your pussy.
"Are you going to sit and stare or are you going to actually do something pretty boy?" Your words rang in his ears and he slowly looked up at you, the same irritation growing in him like it did all those years ago when you'd call him that name. His thumb left your clit and his index and middle finger slowly pushed it and curled causing you to let out a small moan. He could feel you already clenching around them as he started to pump them in and out of you. "Stop calling me that." His head dipped down between your thighs and licked a long swipe before settling on your clit making you let out another moan.
"I can't help it." You say running your fingers through his hair. "You're a pretty- ahh fuck..." Sasuke sucks on your clit harshly, his fingers curling and uncurling from your gspot making your mind go fuzzy with the pleasure he's giving you. Your fingers tighten in his hair tugging slightly, "Fuck Sasuke." You throw your head back taking in the feeling of his tongue and fingers working on you. You can feel the coil in your stomach tighten up and you screw your eyes shut feeling the pleasure hit you. You feel dizzy and can't focus on anything but Sasuke. He tugs your panties down past your hips and tosses them to the side before finally undoing his pants. You fall back against your bed, chest heavy as that was one orgasm that knocked the wind out of you.
You feel the bed dip down before you're turned over to your stomach, a harsh smack heard before you felt his hand come across your ass. "Ass up." He says, his voice low as he picks up your hips positioning them to his liking. You feel him bring the tip of his cock up and down your slit causing you to shiver. You can just feel the smirk on his face before he pushes in giving you no moment to get adjusted. You let out a mix of a moan and groan feeling him stretch you out, you not having any sort of sex in a while is the excuse you'd like to give but you also didn't expect Sasuke to be big in the slightest.
His hands gripped your hips and brought you back with each thrust, you arched your back and dropped your head letting out small moans as he hit a spot in you that you haven't felt before. "You ever felt this good before with anybody else?" You could hear the smugness in his voice. "You're so fucking tight, don't tell me, you weren't saving yourself for anyone were you?" He chuckles as he thinks what he's saying is funny, you throw your hand back ready to smack him but he quickly catches it and pins your arm behind your back pushing you further into the mattress as he slams into you at a slower pace. "Of course you weren't, you take my cock too well."
You could feel every inch of him with every hard thrust he gives you, feeling him deep in your stomach as you grip the bedsheets tighter and tighter.  "Please go faster." You whine out without meaning to. Sasuke pulls out and flips you to your back before slowly pushing back in making you moan. He leaned forward his thrusts picking up pace and making you look at him.
The close proximity of him making you nervous all of a sudden, missionary was for eye contact, kissing, all of that intimate shit. Doggy style is much more your style with Sasuke. You don't have to look at him. The smirk on his face makes you question him before he speaks. "Who knew you were such a needy sub." Your eyebrows furrow as you go to speak but the words died on your tongue when Sasuke brings his fingers to your clit again bringing you close to your second orgasm. "You're just taking my dick like a good girl, aren't you?" You shake your head refusing to listen to him. His fingers move faster on your clit giving you the perfect amount of pressure to send you back over the edge. Your eyes squeezed shut and head pressed back in your mattress as you orgasmed for the second time in the night. You can feel Sasuke's hips stutter as he fucks you through your orgasm, his pace quickening even more before you felt him stop and let out a low groan as he came inside you.
Your eyes shoot open as you smack his arm, "You did not! Not inside you idiot!" You shove him off of you as you quickly go to your bathroom that's connected to your room.
Sasuke chuckles to himself before letting out a small "oops." He sits himself up on your bed and gets himself dressed. He can hear you grumbling in the bathroom and the shower starting to run as he gets finished. He stands up and makes his way around your room walking to the door before his eyes laid upon picture frames on your dresser. He can faintly see pictures of your closest friends, some recent and some old but what catches his eyes the most was a picture taken when you were in the academy. It was when the top of the class got a picture taken and both you and Sasuke tied for number one. Both of you were upset that you had to take a picture together and it was evident on your faces. Your arms were crossed while glaring at the camera man and whoever had to have forced the picture and Sasuke was looking over to the side, his hand on his hip and looking as annoyed as ever.
Out of all the photos you put in a frame you put that one even as you hated him.
Hate. It's a funny emotion. Isn't it?

Kishimoto was always aware of what he was writing, and everything in manga is intentional, not accidental.
Tumblr media
When Naruto meets Haku, he admires his look.
NO WAY! HE'S... HE'S EVEN CUTER THAN SAKURA-CHAN!!?
Naruto uses カワイイ (kawaii) = cute; adorable.
Tumblr media
Naruto complementing his mom by calling her 「美人」 ' bijin' - It literally means "a beautiful person," but it actually means "a beautiful woman / lady".
Tumblr media
When Inari meets Naruto and Sakura several years later, he comments on Sakura's appearance, calling her キレイ (kirei) -> Beautiful or Pretty.
When Naruto returns to Konoha after three years of training with Jiraiya, Sakura asks him this particular question, his response was this:
Tumblr media
Sakura: How do I look? Do I look more like a woman now...?
Naruto: You look Fine! You haven't changed at all!! 😁
Sakura: 💢
Naruto: ?
Jiraya: 💭You still don't understand the heart of a woman...
Sakura uses 女らしい (Onnarashii) = women; ladylike; feminine. Jiraya uses 女心 (onnagokoro) = woman's heart/mind.
When Naruto saw her 3 years later he didn't see any difference in her or compliment her so she had to ask him about her appearance. But when she asked, she didn't get the answer she wanted and became angry or annoyed lol
You know, even before he was born, his own mother had spoken of this not understanding woman's heart.
Tumblr media
HE WON'T UNDERSTAND GIRLS FEELINGS...
Raw: 女心も どんかんで
Romaji: onnagokoro mo donkan de
Kushina uses the same word here as Jiraiya used, 女心 (onnagokoro) = woman's heart/mind.
どんかん (donkan) - It refers to a person's insensitivity or lack of awareness towards the feelings, emotions, or atmosphere around them. It describes someone who is oblivious or slow to pick up on subtle cues or hints from others. This term is often used to describe individuals who have difficulty understanding or empathizing with the emotions or feelings or needs of those around them. It is important to note that this term is not necessarily derogatory, but rather describes a person's character or behavior.
Tumblr media
I DON'T QUITE UNDERSTAND THIS INTEREST IN WOMEN
Raw: 女の欲ってのもいまいち分かんねーしィ
Romaji: onna no yoku tte no mo imaichi wakannē shi i
女 (onna) - woman
欲 (よく) (yoku) - greed; craving; desire; avarice; wants
いまいち (imaichi) - Not quite; not very good; lacking
分かんねーし (wakan ne- shi) - I don't know; I don't understand
Tumblr media
It emphasizes that a smut novel is too boring for a 15-year-old Naruto. He doesn't find it interesting
すっげー つまんねー (sugge tsuman ne-) = soo boring/totally boring
Tumblr media
you can compliment another man for their looks. a man can appreciate the beauty of another man without being gay. They don't cost anything, if it's authentic, if it's genuine, you have a chance to brighten someone else's day.
カッコイイ = cool / handsome/ good looking
But....what's really interesting about Naruto is that he is panicking after complimenting Sasuke. See how he suddenly changes what he said earlier...as if what was on his mind accidentally spilled out of his mouth. Also notice Sakura's shocked and surprised face at what Naruto said. And that worried smile on her face
He could admire Haku and Sasuke's looks. He could understand why Haku sacrificed himself for Zabuza. He could understand Sakura's love for Sasuke because he saw himself in her. He could understand Sasuke's heart and pain. He was able to understand other villains.
He is the person who tried to understand and listen to others, but it's constantly shown in the manga that he doesn't understand a woman's heart and not interested in it. Naruto ignored Hinata's confession despite remembering she jumping in front of Pain. He rejected Sakura without even hesitating....and admitting that the Promise was never for her. Then we get to see Naruto's confession to Sasuke under the bridge. Naruto never mentioned Team 7 or the others in his personal confession. It was about him and Sasuke only... [link] [link] [link]
Naruto was never attracted to Sakura's looks or beauty…while he could admire the looks of Sasuke, Haku, and Kushina. He called Sakura ugly when he got the chance, he didn't care if someone called her ugly in front of him. But he was irritated when Sakura compared Sai to Sasuke.
Also,
Tumblr media
FOR GUYS, BEING TOGETHER NAKED REALLY MAKES US FEEL LIKE COMPANIONS!
Naruto was feeling shy and embarrassed sitting next to sai and Yamato. Look at Naruto's posture as he holds his knees to his chest compared to Yamato and Sai's calm & relaxed posture. And also the word Yamato uses 裸の (Hadakano) = naked, bare, nude.
Tumblr media
After sharing the 'naked' bath with men Naruto tried to peek into the women's bath . If he's straight he doesn't have to fake his heterosexuality right after the awkward bath with men.

Smut
I hate this but I need it out of my drafts
You and Jenson had been secretly dating for a few months now. Jenson was your fathers best friend so it was kind of forbidden but you didn’t care. If you were being honest with yourself you always had feelings for Jenson since you were a teenager. And now you are getting ready for a date with him.
Jenson is taking you to a nice restaurant for Valentine’s Day.
“So how do I look?” You asked about walking down the stairs.
“Wow…. You look amazing.” Jenson said as he looked at you up and down.
You were wearing a tight dress that showed off your curves and a pair of high heels that made your legs look even longer than they already were
“I'm a pretty lucky guy to have a beautiful date tonight.” Jenson said as he put his arm around you and started walking towards the door.
As the two of you walk to the restaurant hand in hand, you can't help but notice the way people are staring at you. You were used to getting attention for your looks but it's different when you're with Jenson. People seem to really stare when you're together.
Jenson noticed too and he's laughing a little.
“Seems like we're attracting a lot of attention.” He joked.
You reached the restaurant and went inside. It was a cozy little place with candles on the tables and romantic music. The waiters took you to your table and Jenson held out your chair for you.
As you sat down, Jenson smiled at you. You took a look around the restaurant and noticed how many people were staring at you. Even from the table you could see people looking at you.
“I think we're turning a few heads.” Jenson said laughing as he looked around.
“I don't blame them.” He added, glancing at you and giving you a flirtatious smile.
“Your such a flirt” you say smiling
“Maybe I am a flirt.” Jenson said laughing.
“You don't mind though do you?” He added, brushing his hand across your leg.
You can't help but feel your face starting to get flushed. Jenson was such a flirt and it always made you feel something. His hand on your leg felt like electricity going through your body.
“No, I don't mind.” You said trying to be flirty back.
You looked at him playfully and grinned.
“I like how easy I can make you blush.” Jenson said as he laughed.
It was true that he could make you blush, he knew the right things to say and the right way to touch you that would instantly send your blood rushing to your face.
“It’s cute,” he added, his hand moving up your leg slowly.
“What are you doing?” You asked blushing
“Just getting cozy.” He laughed as his hand kept moving up slowly.
He knew exactly what he was doing but he liked to act oblivious.
It was getting harder and harder not to blush the higher his hands went.
He just laughed and continued moving his hand up your leg.
His hand was almost to your core and you were starting to feel like a furnace.
He knew that he was being a flirt and he was enjoying every bit of it.
He knew he had you when you didn’t say anything.
He looked at you and gave you a mischievous smile as his hand moved even higher up your leg.
“You like this don’t you?” He said taunting you.
You didn’t answer, the feeling was so intense and you didn’t know what to say without sounding like a giddy school girl.
You could feel his gaze on you and you felt so exposed under the attention of both Jenson and all the people who were staring at you in the restaurant.
“Answer me.” He said, his hand had paused its journey up your leg and you could feel the pressure and tension build.
He was waiting for you to answer.
“Y..yeah.” You answered.
Jenson laughed.
“Good girl” he said as he started moving his hand up your leg again.
His hand went underneath the hem of your dress and slightly parted your thighs, his fingertips brushing against the wet spot on your panties,
Your breath hitched as Jenson’s fingers touched you. It sent shivers through your body and you couldn’t keep yourself from letting out a soft moan.
He knew what he was doing and you could see the satisfaction on his face as he kept moving his fingers.
You let out another soff hushed quiet Moan and he smirked. He knew he had you under his control and he enjoyed the power he had over you.
He knew when he played with you like this that you would be desperate for more.
You liked the feeling but at the same time you were embarrassed that other people could potentially see what he was doing.
Your body was betraying you and his touch felt amazing, making you squirm in your seat.
“I should probably stop.” he said teasingly, making no efforts to actually stop.
You could feel his fingers sliding against your bare skin now and the feeling was incredibly intense as your body was tingling.
Jenson knew that he could make you break in an instant and that made him want to do it even more.
“Please stop.” You mumbled, but it was barely audible.
You were so desperate for more. He could see it in your eyes as he kept his fingers moving.
“You don’t want me to stop.” He said laughing, he knew you were going crazy with desire at this point.
Your breath was shallow, your breath was coming in shorter and shorter breaths.
He knew he had you when he saw your legs shake a little. His fingers found what they Were looking for and then began to explore.
You could feel your body Become tense with his touch. You were trying all your strength not to squirm in your seat.
Your eyes were closed and you were trying to keep yourself together. But as he kept touching you it became too hard for you to stay composed.
The feeling was becoming overwhelming and all you could do was sit there and take it without making any noise. a moan escaped from your lips. The feeling was so overwhelming that you couldn’t contain yourself anymore. It felt like your body was in a state of ecstasy and the feeling was indescribable.
“You like that, don’t you?” Jenson asked, you could hear the grin in his voice.
You didn't answer. It was obvious by the way you were writhing in your seat that you liked it.
Jenson continued exploring you as he played with you.
Your body became even more tense as he got more into it.
The sensation was so Powerful that you were starting to tremble.
Your breath became even shorter and his touch felt like it was going to send you over the edge.
Your legs started to shake a little as Jenson’s hands kept moving. Your whole body was becoming overwhelmed with sensation as you got closer and closer to the Edge. The feeling was so intense that you were sure you would lose control at Any moment. The pressure was building and you could feel yourself getting more and more Intense. Jenson's hands moved faster and harder as he could feel the tension. Building up inside of you. He knew what he was doing and he was enjoying it. The power he had over you. He kept playing with you and teasing you, Making you want him even more. This was so wrong but at the same time you couldn’t deny that it felt so good.
“Are you close?” Jenson said, his voice was low and mischievous.
You could tell by his tone that he was enjoying every bit of this just as much as you were.
Your body was getting more and more tense with each touch from Jenson’s hand. The feeling was so intense that you were finding it hard to keep yourself together. Every touch made you shake a little more and the feeling inside of you was growing larger and larger.
“Y..yeah” you managed to mumble out in a quiet voice. Your breath was shaky and short and you were barely holding it together.
“Do you want me to stop?” He asked teasingly, knowing very well that you didn’t want him to stop.
“No.” Was all you could manage to say as your body was shaking so much at this point.
He smirked. He knew he could make you weak in an instant. “Good girl” he said as he kept playing with you.
“Let go for me darling” Jenson whispers in your ear.
His voice felt like a tease and you couldn’t help but shiver. Jenson knew just the right things to say to send you into a state of ecstasy.
The feeling was growing in you and the pressure became unbearable.
You could feel yourself getting on edge and he saw it in your eyes just how close you were to letting go.
“Just let go for me sweetheart.” He whispered into your ear again.
“I can’t, I…” you tried to mumble a response but it wasn’t coming out clearly.
The sensation was too intense for you to form a coherent thought.
He kept his hand on you as he squeezed your thigh and the feeling was too overwhelming that you couldn’t hold it back any longer.
Your body finally gave in to the feeling and you started to. You breathed in deep as a soft moan left your lips and you felt like you Were released as if all the pressure and tension was just completely gone. You felt warm and relaxed as a wave of satisfaction and pleasure went through your body.
You could feel yourself trembling still, but this time it was from the aftershocks. The feeling was so intense that even after the release you were still trembling in your seat.
Jenson saw the trembling and he smirked. He could tell that you were still feeling the aftershocks of your release.
He kept his hand on your thigh and you could feel him looking at you. It was a look of satisfaction as he saw you shiver from the aftershocks.
“Are you ok?” He said with a slight smirk.
You took a deep breath and let it out slowly.
“Yeah, I think so” you managed to mumble.
Jenson couldn't help himself but to chuckle at your answer.
“Are you sure?” He said in a flirty tone.
You were still trembling and your body was still a bit shaky so it seems like the release was more intense than you thought it would be.
“I think it hit me a little harder than I thought it would.” You answered him softly.
Jenson laughed as he saw the way your body was still shaking and trembling.
You seemed so cute and vulnerable in that moment that he couldn’t help but get attracted to you all over again.
Thank god for the dark and noisy environment of the restaurant.

This was the day, he could feel it in the depths of his being. In every rush of blood his body pumped into his body. That was IT
The source of his current stress was something he'd worried about a lot since the beginning of your relationship and maybe even before
Sex with you blushes hard
He always blamed the cause of this stress on his bijû. He always told himself that being a kjinchûriki ( receiver ) kept him away from this idea for fear of hurting you in any way
In fact, he didn't know much about it, he was a virgin
One day you made a seggsy joke and he turned as red as his hair and stammered that in any case as long as the bijû was sealed within him he'd do nothing, you noted that his tone was a little harsh maybe because it was his reaction to fluster. He came back ashamed and apologized for the way he'd expressed it, in a rather professional way so as not to be even more embarrassed
Except that now he'd got rid of his bijû, so he didn't really have an excuse to say no ( yes he has, consent, but we won't go into that for the sake of the hc )
He realized that it was out of shyness and that if he wanted to do it, he would have used all his self-control over his bijû to control it during the act
But now he knew it was going to happen soon
You somehow ended up on his lap. How did it start ? A flurry of little pecks that turned into a heavy make out session
With each passing second, he felt hotter, bothered and… hard. And while he hoped you wouldn't feel it, afraid you'd take him for a pervert. You gently started to ground your hips against his
A low grunt rose from his throat and passed to your lips by the kiss
He couldn't breathe anymore. He didn't know if it was because of the kiss or because of the embarrassment
His hands grabbed your hips, hoping to make you slow down or stop moving, and of course you did
"What's the matter ? You don't want to go further ?" you asked, your lips red from the kiss
He shook his head in reply. It was hard to tell whether it was a yes or a no
"Gaara, please use your words" you said, playing with the hair at the nape of his neck, sending shivers down his spine
It did feel good, yes but the sensation was so foreign to him. But on the other hand you looked so pretty and he really wanted to see you satisfied. Somehow he could sense that you were sexually frustrated and he didn't want it to last any more time
"I-I am willing to try. But don't be too observant, you know I'm inexperienced in this matter"
"Don't worry. Anything you give me will be good because it'll come from you" with that you stood up from him
"I'm going to relax you and you're going to see that you're going to feel much better", at your words you took his hand and pulled him towards your shared room
You asked him to sit on the edge of the bed as you lowered yourself onto your knees in front of him, making even redder with each new action you did
With a look you silently asked him if you could pull down his pants and he nodded not very sure about what was to come
The bulge in his boxers, however, at least proved that you had some effect on him. You palmed him thought his brief still winning more little noises out of him
You pulled down his shorts, leaving his arousal spring free. Gaara felt very small in front of your eyes, as they were literally drinking in what was in front of them aka him
"Let me know when you feel it coming"
"What are you gonnaaaaagh-" a groan cut him off as you took him in your mouth. You sucked gently on his cock, your tongue swirling over the tip, his moans encouraging you in your efforts
The pleasure he felt was then unknown to him. Which caused him to buck involuntarily into your mouth. Your gags were always followed by breathless apologies coming from him
When you felt him stiffen, you stopped and climbed onto the bed "That's your moment Gaara go on top"
You quickly wiggled out of your clothes and beckoned him to climb on top of you. Which he did, trembling a little. The sight of your naked body beneath his made him spiral back into his previous anguish
Realizing this, you decided to help him get over the step
"Calm down. Don't think with your head, think with this" you said, rolling your hips up to meet his "and you'll see, it'll all work itself out"
He swallowed hard and took a deep breath of your perfume and listened to you, concentrating only on what his arousal wanted. Gently he took his cock in hand and guided it to your entrance
After a glance to make sure you were okay with this he pushed slowly, carefully sinking into your wet pussy. You were so tight and he thought he was going to cum on the spot
Once completely in, he put his hands on either side of your head, his breath shallow. You kissed his forehead to bring him some comfort and when he felt at ease again he gently began to move in and out of you
Each thrust drew a grunt from him, but he was so focused on not cumming that he couldn't stop them from coming out. He didn't know, he hadn't realized, that it was going to feel this good. And listening to your moans, you seemed to like it too
With more confidence he gripped your hips before starting to fuck you harder. Your room filling with the sound of your two bodies colliding, proof of the passion with which Gaara was pounding youk
While he is railing you he is mentally slapping himself for being so reluctant about it because fuck that felt good. You were so wet and so tight it was just… perfect. Pure bliss
The more he moved, the closer he felt to his release. He hope it wasn't too soon in the average or for you - he was within the norm for a first time
"Gaara f-faster p-please" your words fueled him and he moved even faster than what he thought was his maximum. At this point he was taking you in a perfect mating press, his neck buried in his neck why his moans became louder, just like yours as you tighten even more around him
With a final push he got you quivering under him and then he felt it. He was on the brink of his own release and the scratches you made on his back kept him going until he withdrew to cum on your belly
"Ooh fuck ugh" he said breathless but then he saw the mess he did on you " Oh no Y/n I'm so so sorry here let me clean you- mmh "
Too late you had already jumped on his mouth to give him a long and languorous kiss
"Don't apologize for enjoying it. That's what it's for" you smiled widely at him still in the afterglow of your release "That was quite the ride. I'm happy you finally did something about it"
He smiled sheepishly, his shy attitude settling back now the excitation fell back "Yeah we could call it like that" he chuckled "B-but here let me clean you-"
"Gaara for fuck sake just stay there and enjoy okay. I'm going to take care of it later. I don't mind"
"Oh- oh ! Okay"
He lay back down beside you and gently, with a trembling hand, took your hand in his before letting out a sigh he didn't know he was holding
No doubt next time he'll be just as shy, but at least he knows what pleasure he'll get if he lets himself be won over by the desire to be intimately connected to you
And knowing you, he knew that he wouldn't have to wait that long
And it was for his greatest delight
~

Shattered Glass
Orochimaru x Reader
Synopsis: Mitsuki wasn't allowed to be in the lab, more for his safety than anything else. But when he breaks something with you not around, how will his father react instead?
Naruto Masterlist: Here
Tumblr media
A crash sounded out in the lab causing Orochimaru to jump. His eyes scanned around the room, trying to figure out what it was that broke. More importantly, how did it break?
"Uh oh," a small voice called out.
Orochimaru relaxed a little knowing that it was his toddler's fault but tensed up when he realized you were nowhere in sight. "Suki. Where's mama?" Orochimaru called out as he walked swiftly to the toddler. He tried his best to sound soft and kind, but he knew his words sounded sharp.
Rounding the corner, he saw Mitsuki standing there with his hands behind his back, pale eyes taking in the way the shards of glass scattered along the laminated tile. His eyes flicked up to his father's and while he knew his father wouldn't yell, he couldn't help but feel his body shake in fear.
Orochimaru tsk'd quietly to himself at the sight of his son shaking, but moved slowly towards him anyway in fear of making him cry. "It's okay. It was an accident" Orochimaru stated, hand coming down to pat softly onto the child's small head. He knelt then to start gathering up the larger pieces, "Can you go get the broom for me?"
Mitsuki nodded before racing off towards the broom in the corner, excited to help his father even if it was for cleaning up the mess he made. "Suki?!" Orochimaru's head shot up as he heard your panicked calls from the hallway.
"He's in here my love"
Within seconds, you appeared in the doorway. Hair messy and face contorted into one of pure panic until your eyes settled on the child. A sigh of relief flew from your lips as you scooped the child up from the floor, letting the broom fall from his hands in the process. It went tumbling down, knocking over a few more glasses in its wake. More shattering sounded out but you didn't care as you cuddled deeper into the toddler.
"Don't you dare run from me like that again! I was worried sick!"
Orochimaru sighed quietly as he took in the 5 beakers that you broke. While the child looked like him, Mitsuki's coordination skills were all you. "You should be more careful" he muttered as he stood and threw away the large pieces of glass. Your cheeks heated up at his statement as you finally looked down at the mess you had made.
Shooting a sheepish smile his way, you set Mitsuki down on the lab table and bent down to pick up the broom. "Sorry about that-"
Orochimaru caught the broom from you as you straightened out. "No need. Are you hurt?" It didn't matter how long you two had been together, when he was this close to you you always lost your cool. He smirked at your flustered face, he figured it was payment for him cleaning up after you.
"No..." your eyes trailed to Mitsuki and landed on the hand that he was hiding. "Mitsu..." you started, sidestepping Orochimaru to get closer to your son. He wouldn't look at you, and you knew why.
"Let me see it" you stated firmly and finally he brought his hand out from behind his back. You hissed at the cut on his palm, it would heal but you knew it had to have hurt like hell.
"Oh, honey" you whispered pitifully before looking at Orochimaru with pleading eyes. While he hasn't used his medical ninjutsu in a long time, this was something he could fix with little to no effort. Orochimaru cocked his head before stepping forward and grabbing the child's hand. Light flew from his fingers and ghosted above the cut which caused Mitsuki to whimper as the skin mended itself. But it was over soon and all that was left to fix were the two messes that you and your son caused.
Orochimaru looked at you before turning back to Mitsuki, now that the boy was old enough Orochimaru figured he could learn to be careful in the lab. "Now Mitsuki-"
"Gentler" you cut in, knowing that the tone he was going to take wouldn't help.
Orochimaru nodded before clearing his throat. "Mitsuki, you have to be careful when you're in here. As you can see, it's very easy to get hurt and I don't want that to happen. Can you promise to be more careful next time?"
Mitsukis eyes were wide at just how gentle his father sounded. He looked at you over his father's shoulder, confusion evident on his face. You nodded in a way that encouraged him to answer, this was indeed his father. It wasn't a trap. "Yes, Father" Mitsuki stated finally.
Orochimaru smiled before pressing a kiss to the top of his forehead. "Now why don't you go play outside with your mother? I hear it's a beautiful day outside?"
Mitsuki agreed and hopped down from the table. He grabbed your hand and began pulling you out, but before he could pull you out of the room entirely, you threw a loving glance over your shoulder. You were so proud of Maru for becoming such a kind person, even if it was just to you and Mitsuki.
The lab door closing left Orochimaru once more in silence and he sighed at the state of his lab. 'It was worth it though' he thought as he bent down to sweet up the glass. Because without the two of you, there would be no mess for him to clean up.
And that is what he loved the most.

There are so many naruto time travel fics out there but what I need SPECIFICALLY is an ANBU era team of Kakashi, Tenzo, Itachi, and Shisui getting flung into the founders era.
Like. Ok just looking from the political side of it that's;
A) 2 very young and VERY powerful Uchiha's (one of which is the future clan head!! Politics!!)
B) A very fucked up baby mokuton user who's still in the middle of being deprogrammed and can totally pass for Senju
C) The free wild card that is Hatake clan lore on top of having a stolen sharingan. On top of *that* him being the team leader of a team of kids who, in the time period context, should both be at eachothers throats and probably not be expected to obey the commands of someone not only from another clan but a way smaller one
Theres SO much potential there!! So many political implications in virtually ALL of the directions!!!!
Yk what as I'm typing this out I'm having ✨️ideas✨️ so let's make some story points to sort those out:
• I think itd be neat to have this happen like. A year? Ish? Before the massacre? So age wise, and full disclaimer I'm referencing Google and Wikipedia rn so I could totally be wrong, I think that's :
Kakashi (18)
Tenzo (17)
Itachi (12)
Shisui (15)
Could be wrong about the ages but honestly it's my world you're just living in it, so.
Then me going totally purely off of my own headcannons, were going to say they came in a about a year before Izuna died and place the founders ages as:
Madara (23)
Hashirama (23)
Izuna (19)
Tobirama (18)
Big fan of Tobirama being the youngest between the 4 but projecting the aura of someone as old as like. Idk, however old Madara is. Very funny to me, 10/10
• I'm personally a big fan of dogteeth kakashi so we're running with that all the way home. Also a huge fan of the "Hatake's are a distant, more feral cousin of Inuzuka clan" hc along with some sprinklings of "back in the day they had a bit of a Reputation(tm) for being a 'lill wild, and everyone generally tries to avoid them. Which isn't too much of a problem because theyre a very small out of the way clan from Iron, they just have a big reputation in contrast to their size.
In more modern times tho, along with (obviously) having dwindled down to a single depressed teenager, they've become a lot tamer over the years due to village life. Kakashi is a Hatake, 100%, but he is NOT up to the standards of this time. Which becomes a bit funny when people see him, go "oh FUCK it's a Hatake" and then start edging slowly towards the door like he's about to rip their throat out with his teeth. Meanwhile he's standing there like 🧍‍♂️"am I that ugly."
Give me a scene where, finally used to this reaction to him from the general shinobi population, the team starts to use it to their advantage.
"Give us the scroll or we'll let the Hatake off the leash to have his fun with you. He's been awfully hungry latley you know, hasn't had fresh meat in days"
Kakashi, feeling kind of stupid, gave his best growl.
It caused an almost immediate, embaressed flush to rise to his face, but he didn't let up. It sounded more like an almost pathetic puppy growl than anything to his ears, but apparently it was enough to convince the trembling enemy nin because he slowly lifted the scroll up in offering.
Wow. Now he couldn't tell if he was embaressed for himself or for this guy.
Probably both to be honest.
• So like. Itachi is the clan heir. That's big. That's important. Let's do something with that.
First off, I had a great time reading this one fic (tho I don't even remember what the fic itself was about now, oops) where a plot point of it was how Sasuke is just a walking stereotype of main house Uchiha. Like people look at him and they don't just go "oh that's an Uchiha." They go "oh fuck that's an UCHIHA Uchiha." He's so fucking painfully, obviously related to the very tippy top of the clan that anyone not blind can tell. It's in the way he looks, it's in the way he talks and treats those around him, it's in the way he fucking holds himself. You look at him and every other stereotype about the Uchiha clan is there in big, bold letters. (On top of that he's also a dead wringer for Izuna, which I'm such a sucker for and desperatley wish people would do more with)
So like let's give that to Itachi here because it's so fun for several reasons.
First off; Sasuke in this is like. Straight up a doppelganger of Izuna, just a few generations apart. They could be twins. Itachi, as I'm sure you are aware, is Sasuke's big brother. So let's take some liberties and say that Itachi could absoloutley pass as a blood sibling to Izuna and Madara.
He is however 12, so we're also going to say that the only people who get to make this connection is anyone who's seen the siblings when they were also at a similar age.
On top of that however he has the 'walking amalgamation of all the stereotypes of the main Uchiha house' so anyone who isn't blind will look at him and assume he's somewhere in the sphere of 'important main house person' tho who really knows how distant the relation may be exactly. No one !! That's who !!!
Second; He's the fucking clan heir!! What the fuck!! This bit would have the most impact after all the messy time travel reveals when things have settled down a bit, so it'll sit in the back pocket for a bit. Save it for some fun shaking up later down the line so we don't run out of all the fun reveals too fast and bore the readers, yk?
When it is brought up tho it'd be fun to maybe have some fucky Itachi and Madara mutual understandings of the way things work.
• So. Madara is like a bit of a scary bed time story to Uchiha children, right? Like. "Ooo make sure you don't get too obsessive or fall too deep into your grief and always stay loyal to the village or you'll end up just like Madara!!"
Something something Uchiha-Village relationships are tense as hell, something something Madara fucking over a lot of the clan with his whole. Everything., Something something scapegoat and old stories, something something 'people have probably been talking a lot more about how "god dammit this all started with Madara" in recent years.'
Now with that in mind let's take a look of what our time travelers think of Madara:
Itachi is a good Konoha soldier. Itachi (as has been very much fucking proven) would rather beat a possible problem before it even exists with a hammer till it dies an ugly bloody death than even RISK it blossoming into a proper problem. Itachi does not like Madara. Itachi personally, quietly thinks they should maybe wait till the village is formed then carefully arrange a little accident for him before he goes off the rails. He, even more quietly, maybe even thinks it would be a kindness. Allow him to be remembered well by the village instead of scorned.
Shisui I think is cautiously optimistic about him. He's the kind of guy who gives the benefit of the doubt, who weighs the options, risk and reward, but includes things like hope and compassion in his calculations. Yes, Madara was a uhh. Thing. That happened. But in every story his big blow up always come from one specific event; Izuna's death. So if they stop that from happening, wouldn't it secure both a better future for them and Madara? The history books never went into detail about Izuna, he doesn't know what he's like, but maybe his involvement in the future, on Konoha's side, could lead to even more profits for them long term. At the end of the day he's not against killing Madara (though to be clear, they are at first operating on trying to avoid all interactions with historical events and return home without touching things) but it'd be nice, to manage to get a happy ending for everyone. Unrealistic maybe, but nice.
Mmmm hear me out actually, maybe Shisui, after interacting with him a bit, finds that Madara reminds him of Itachi too. They definatley both have that "I would do unspeakable things to even dream of my loved just one more time" energy, if you know what I mean
Anyways; Kakashi and Tenzo are both neutral on Madara. Yes, they learned about how he betrayed the village when young just like everyone else, but they weren't getting the bed time stories and "do this and you'll end up just like him" warnings like the Uchiha's. They're possibly leaning into negative but are detached from the situation enough to just go "well he hasn't done it yet and his brother is still alive so he won't any time soon" and be done with it
• Now, on the the total opposite side of the spectrum you have Hashirama and Tobirama. People are brought up in Konoha to fucking IDOLIZE these guys. You can not tell me our team of time travelers wouldn't be at least a little awed to speak with them.
I think Tenzo would be the most wide eyed about Hashirama, both for the baseline "holy shit that's the Shodai Hokage" and also that fun juicy mokuton user imposter syndrome he has going on for him. That guys DNA is inside his body!!! Holy shit wait does that mean if someone did a blood relation test with them he might read as being related to him?? Fuck were gonna pocket that for now but like. Mmmmm potential.
I'd say Itachi is the most hesitant about Tobirama but again, village loyalist, so.
You know what tho maybe Shisui is the most hesitant about him (though still largely positive) he both def grew up looking up to him but can also see the anti-Uchiha policies people inact now with the implications that Tobirama would have approved of it. He doesn't know if he would, but like, he has to wonder.
Kakashi is probably the most normal about them (and also has experience in being close to a hokage (Minato) to know that at the end of the day they are painfully human) Don't get me wrong, he's still in some sort of awe! He might get a little lightheaded at the thought of seeing the God of Shinobi in proper battle, or the possibility to see the famed genius of Tobirama with all the different jutsu's he's invented. You can't tell me Kakashi didn't spend a little extra time reading about him when he was trying to make Chidori. Honestly I'm gonna roll with that and say he had a bit of a phase as a kid where he was a total fan boy. Maybe sprinkle in the good old HalfHatake!Tobirama hc to add some faint daydreams a lonley babykashi had after his father's death, about getting to meet him as family. Like cmon, little genius idolizing and projecting on some big history figure only to find out they're actually related? Can you say potential?
Anyways he did eventually grow out of the phase, probably got unattached to it all and lost interest after the whole "losing everything he loved" bit of his life. And at the end of the day, he doesn't have any real complex personal hang ups on the founders like the others do. Thus, most normal.
• And then my favorite most special boy, Izuna !! He's for sure the one they're all most neutral about. He's not actually taught about in the academy? There's probably some throw away line about him in some history books somewhere, but he died young and was quickly buried by the looming shadow of Konoha. The only real knowledge had about him in modern times is just a vague "Yeah he got killed by Tobirama which lead to peace being made but also lead to Madara losing his shit"
Poor Izuna he's the linchpin for it all but was left an unremarkable footnote of history. My boy deserves so much better
Tenzo doesn't actually even know who he is, that boy got bare minimum education under Danzo and Izuna was NOT included.
Itachi and Shisui mmmaybe have some small little fun fact here or there buried in stories from the older members of the clans but like. It's gonna amount to just "yeah he had a great katon" and thats about it.
I WILL SAY HOWEVER. Itachi sees him and instantly is that one PTSD dog meme. Sasuke is a BABY but holy shit Izuna looks exactly like he'd expect him to grow up as and it's making him FEEL THINGS. Also he's so bratty little brother coded !! He's an entire 7 years older than Itachi but Ifachi keeps fucking up and trying to big brother him it's embaressing.
And ofc Itachi didn't go into the first meeting thinking he'd see some weird older mirror version of his beloved baby brother who he misses and worries about very very much. So like. There's for sure going to be some conflict there. If their first meeting is a scuffle (which it probably will be) I think Itachi would keep hesitating to attack. On full run away mode. Which is probably for the best bc he shouldn't try to fight Izuna anyways honey he's like double your bodyweight and you're strong but you aren't THAT strong.
• Pointing back at both the 'Itachi does not like Madara and has quiet thoughts about how it'd possibly be in everyone's interest to just kill him' and the 'Itachi and Madara quietly bond over being clain head/heir during stressful times (w pressure from the elders especially)
I can see 2 outcomes of a potential bonding conversation with them:
1) They come to understand eachother better.
Madara wants to be on good terms, he looks at this kid and sees one of his brothers eyes and the others quiet determination. He can tell Itachi doesn't like him for some reason, and it's frustrating because he doesn't know why. He wants him to like him. He wants to be able to offer his hand and have it taken. It hurts, to be looked at with such suspicion from a face that has traces of Izuna's.
Meanwhile Itachi . . . Itachi looks at Madara and he sees someone who gets it. Gets it like no one ever has. It scares him. He looks up at this man, this horror story he's been told to fear becoming, and he sees himself. And this realization shakes him. It makes him think, makes him wonder. He's so, so sure of his loyalty to Konoha. More sure than he is of anything else in the world. But . . . But if something happened to Sasuke, if he had to choose—
And maybe it softens something in him too, along with the (honestly healthy) dose of fear. It forms a little crack in his shell, just enough to maybe, maybe let Madara through. Just a hair.
Or 2) we pull one of those "The conversation ends with them agreeing verbally but mentally they're on 2 VERY different notes."
Madara, nodding and looking at Itachi meaningfully: "Yeah it can be hard, but all we can really do is try to make the world a safer place for the ones we love. (To create Konoha, to keep my clan safe. Izuna safe. And now to keep you safe too.)
Itachi, nodding slowly: "Yeah. No matter how hard it is (even though I think I understand you more than anyone else Ive ever met) we have to try to make the world a safer place (by killing you in your sleep once Konoha is formed) for the ones we love (My clan. My village. Sasuke.)"
• Also pointing back at the 'Hatake warring clan era reputation,' the 'Tobirama is half Hatake' and also now pointing at Tobirama's title as the White Demon. Small thing but it'd be neat if there was some small throw away line that the nickname lowkey started in part because of the absoloutley terrifying reputation of the Hatake combined with Tobirama's own Everything(tm) like it just had some influence on how some view him. Give me Uchiha's making dog jokes ab him it'll be funny
• Ok but now the actual plot thoughts. Yeah I know I kept you waiting sorry about that.
So time travel! Probably due to a mission gone wrong. Some ruins or some ancient crumbling scroll that wasn't even supposed to do fucking time travel but was so old and corroded that it somehow managed to transform into a whole other seal by pure bad luck. Or good luck I guess, considering it could have just turned into a nuke.
Our favorite team of disasters are very very alarmed !!! What the fuck !!! Obviously they don't default to thinking time travel, but they immediatley know something is wrong. The landscape has changed, though the big landmarks are still there. The mission was complete anyways with no injuries so they just retreat to Konoha. Only oops !! It's not fucking there!!!
Queue alarm.
Shisui is the first one to suggest time travel because he's quirky like that. And there's a very easy way to confirm this theory.
(Also we're going to say that Konoha's location is a valley a few miles out from the Naka River that borders the Senju / Uchiha territories.)
This is convenient because that verification method involves checking in on where Itachi and Shisui know the old Uchiha compound should rest.
They do it in full stealth mode, the second they saw Konoha was missing Kakashi as team leader decided they'd treat the land as enemy territory. They all agreed ofc, for all they knew this WAS enemy territory now.
And, ofc, yeah!! There's the old Uchiha compound!! Being active!!! There are people there!!!
"What are the odds Fugaku-sama decided to have the clan return to their homeland for ahh, cultural enrichment?" Kakashi asked weakly.
"Time travel." Was the only reply he got from Shisui, whispered reverently as the boy vibrated with excitement on the branch.
Itachi just gave him a look, radiating a level of dissaproving disbelief that no normal 12 year old should be able to make. Kakashi would know, he was that not-normal 12 year old once.
From there they decide a no interference policy. Hands off guys!! They probably debate it tho, like, a good amount. They all have ✨️opinions✨️ except maybe Tenzo who's lowkey still in the middle of trying to learn how to be a person and is following Kakashi's lead 99% of the time. Especially since they're still in mission mode and this is like a super serious discussion and he really does know the least ab the founders overall.
They probably debate the merits of going to Uzushiogakure bc seal help but it's really far and they don't actually have like, just any leverage with them. They already decided not to fuck with the future so it isn't like they can trade secrets and warnings. At least if shit happens here they have some plausible deniability, being, yk, 2 uchiha's and a senju-passing guy with Mokuton. Kakashi's kinda fucked tho in that regard but he isn't going to be doing the party ANY favors with his clan heritage.
Which means it's time to potentially get desperate enough to interact with Tobirama !!! Which will inevitably lead to them bumping into a Uchiha patrol or something!!! I don't know honestly
• Anyways want Hashirama and Tenzo to interact. He has so many issues like holy shit. Let Hashirama give him the hug he deserves. I want him to violently adopt him. New brother acquired!!!
I said before but Tenzo is still reprogramming from ROOT. Let Hashirama impact that! Let him help! They can make flower crowns and photosynthesize together idk
Hashirama would be so happy to have another mokuton user, I think they should be able to sense eachother extra strong and like 'ping' off of eachothers chakra, it'll be fun
▪︎ I'm not thinking toooo hard about power scaling and this is fanfiction so a) don't quote me on this and b) for the love of all that is holy don't take my words as gospel
But for this fic specifically I'm ranking the founders and Team Ro, weakest to strongest (in a clean, fair fight head on w no time to prepare) :
Itachi (he's fucking 12 guys. But also he is like. FRACTIONS under Tenzo and Shisui. If he were 13 I'd let him be above or at the same level but like. He's 12. Cmon.)
Tenzo - Shisui (they're like JUST under the next 2 tho like seconds behind)
Izuna - Tobirama
Kakashi ( by the skin of his fucking teeth and the advantage that is his stupid amount of jutsu's and lack of self preservation)
Madara - Hashirama
And again that's not counting like. The specific situations, time given to prepare, potential dirty tricks they could play (I think the Konoha tricks would play a fraction dirtier than the others, who are slightly more used to big open battles vs the ANBU squad who does all sorts of shit in all sorts of places) plus like. Mental state and team ups.
Tenzo or Shisui couldn't take down Izuna or Tobirama but if they teamed up I'd allow it. Kakashi would get his ass kicked by Hashirama or Madara but he could survive a minutes longer than the others would
Itachi is doing his best
But like
He's 12 guys
I love him and he is terrifyingly competent but he won't win 1 on 1 with anyone unless he has some sort of advantage. Minus Shisui and Tenzo who he does have the advantage of regularly fighting, so.
• I think they do get to go back home in the end. It takes a ton of work tho and they probably do need to get Mito's help with it, Kakashi can show them the seal they got brought here with but it's an ACTUAL one in a trillion miracle it didn't fucking atomize them. So it needs a lot of touch ups
Anyways !!!
I have a little more rattling around in my brain but I'm really tired and also starting to think about other things now so I'm gonna stop here. Might come back and add to it later so stay tuned if you're into that
Full disclaimer I'm not gonna write this. I don't have the proper energy and it'd probably end up being too ambitious of a project if I tried. I'd love to see it happen tho, so like !! Big open invitation to absoloutley anyone who might want to take even a fraction of the ideas I've listed.
@ me if you do tho I wanna see the final product

Weapon of the Leaf, Sasuke x Female ! Reader / Naruto x Female ! Reader
Sasuke watched silently in the distance as a young woman pushed herself to her limit in her training. He was nineteen years old and so was she.
The woman in question was y/n l/n. A strong kunoichi of the Leaf Village. At the mere age of seven she was already going on S-ranked missions. So, in Sasuke's eyes, she was pretty much overpowered. Especially when they were both twelve and he first met her at the chunin exams where she was one of the examiners.
It wasn't until he joined Orochimaru and left the Leaf Village that he learned that she was a weapon. She was practically born to serve the Leaf.
But in his time of wanting strength and needing to kill Itachi, he had chose to ignore her.
Though, during his aging up to sixteen, he found that he thought a lot about her. Especially when he didn't see her during the war.
He quickly found that she was kept at the Leaf and told to keep the village safe. And he wondered, from time to time, if she stayed in the Leaf because she wanted to or if she was ordered to. He would find that it was the latter of the two.
She never left the village, was born to always serve the village as some weapon. A tool. And she never once experienced what true happiness was.
He knew he didn't deserve to show her what that word meant.
But .. maybe, they could experience happiness together.
Thought he highly doubted she would agree to such a thing. The never talked to one another. And Sasuke knew that his little crush was one sided. And yes .. at the mere age of seventeen, was when he realized he harbored feelings for the girl. Despite the fact that they don't know each other well. But he would like to get to know her.
Then,
Breaking out of his thoughts, he managed to dodge two kunai aimed for his eyes just in the nick of time. His right cheek, however, still suffered from a scratch. She must have infused chakra within the blades in hopes of still cutting me. Well, she succeeded.
"Show yourself."
Her voice was cold, calculated. She was prepared to kill him if need be.
Jumping from his spot in the tree, he landed a few feet away from her.
"Oh...," she muttered, "apologies Sasuke Uchiha. I didn't realize that was you. Your chakra is different nowadays."
"..no, I'm ..sorry. I interrupted your training."
She shook her head as she fully turned towards him, "it's alright. I was lost in thought and wasn't really trying anyway. Now, was there something you came to tell me? Is there an enemy in the Leaf perhaps? Or someone trying to attack?"
He could feel the corners of his lips twitch slightly, but he kept his smile from taking shape.
"No, I just wanted to come see you."
He stopped himself from saying anything else. Honestly, he really wasn't used to talking to someone like her. Usually Naruto and Sakura would do all the talking for him.
"Oh ... was there something on your mind then? I'm not good with advice, but I can still assist you if need be."
"There was actually," he said trailing off.
She sheathed her kunai. Her eyes solely focused on him which made his nerves spike. The feeling was unnatural and alien to him.
"Yes?"
"Can we talk over dinner?"
She quirked an eyebrow up, "sure... Ichiraku Ramen alright with you?"
That was another thing that Sasuke missed out on. During y/n's days of loneliness... Naruto was the one to become her first friend. So of course Ichiraku's would be her first choice.
"..yes."
She nodded as she tidied up her belongings before settling up beside him, "then let's go. Best to get to the place before it closes."
Their run was silent and when they jumped from roof to roof, he couldn't help but to give her a sideways glance.
She was pretty.
That was the only thought that could come to mind.
"Sasuke?"
He was brought out of his thoughts once again as she was looking back at him. She had already taken a seat in the middle of the Ichiraku stand. He was quick to follow after, but he made sure to sit on her left so that he wouldn't accidentally spill anything on her due to his missing left arm.
"So," she started after they ordered, "what's on your mind?"
He gave her a sideways glance, his eyes softening a tad bit as he got to look at her without anyone watching them. The old man too focused on making them their food.
"Y/n .. I was wondering .. how .. how are you doing?"
She tilted her head to the side, "what do you mean?"
"Well, .. I know that your life has been hard up to this point so, so I was just .. just wondering."
He was still trying to formulate as to how he was going to ask her out in the most discrete way possible. He wasn't one for making a scene.
"Ahh," she said, "yes.. that."
She thought for a moment as a sort of light smile danced across her lips, "lately. I've been doing great. Better than ever actually."
Sasuke felt his lips twitch again, but he still refused to smile. He wanted to keep his stoic expression and try to think of what to say next.
"Y/n, i-"
"Oh! Y/n! I was wondering where you were at! I checked at the training grounds but you weren't there."
Naruto had burst in without warning. His arms encircling around y/n like a life preserver as he laid his chin onto her shoulder. His lips lightly kissing her cheek as she smiled shyly at him, "sorry, Naruto. Sasuke wanted some advice, and I- I thought I could help him out and then meet up with you."
"Sasuke?"
As if finally noticing his presence, Naruto let go of his girlfriend and smiled brightly at his best friend who liked to think of as a brother.
"Oh! Sasuke! I didn't realize you were here! Did y/n end up helping you out?"
Sasuke finally smiled as he found himself closing his eyes and shaking his head. Of course Naruto would get to her first. He should have realized it sooner.
"I think I'll just ask her another time. For now, why don't you two enjoy yourselves."
"You sure, but what about your food," y/n inquired.
"...yes, and you and Naruto can have it."
He left without another word, leaving the couple to be confused by his actions.
He was happy that the weapon of the leaf was a weapon no longer.
He knew Naruto would make sure of that.

I've noticed you're happy when people share snippets of things they're writing, so today I want to share with you one of the scenes I'm the most proud to have ever written
To give you a bit of context so it makes sense: Time travel fuckery happens when Naruto uses almost all of Kurama's power to get back in time. What little power was left of the Bijuu merges with his body and gives him orangy-red hair the same color of Kurama's fur so he makes himself pass as Kushina's younger brother when he appears in Konoha around the time young Naruto is 5/6 y/o, going by the name of Uzumaki Kurama to avoid raising any suspicious about two Narutos. Shit happens, he and Kakashi fall in love but are idiots who don't communicate. The scene takes place after Pain's attack and Kakashi dying and coming back to life.
-
The dust has long settled on the destroyed village, and now the moon was high in the sky, watching over Her people in silence.
Tenzō had done an amazing job, Kakashi has to admit. It's thanks to his Mokuton that the people of Konoha have a place to sleep at until the village is properly re-built.
Not him, though. He couldn't fall asleep.
He's not too surprised by the fact that he's awake in the middle of the night. He's used to it. Usually he can fall asleep for an hour or two at some point, but this time is different. He guesses dying and coming back to life will do that to you.
He's not the only one awake. ANBU are patrolling the village. Some of them nod their head at him when passing by, but no one stops to bother him as he stands on top of a mostly destroyed building, away from where the rest of the village is resting.
Kakashi is not on duty. He hasn't been since the day the Sandaime had told him that he was to become a Jōnin Sensei. Yet, tonight he misses the mask. He feels like his head is too full of thoughts, and he needs to put on his ANBU uniform and let that part of him take the lead. The youngest ANBU to have ever been made. The only ANBU with a perfect mission score. He misses not thinking about anything but a mission, his body moving mechanically as his mind takes a step back and rests.
Alas, he can't. He had to give his mask and uniform back all those years ago, leave them in the hands of the Hokage and never take them back.
It's barely past 0300 when someone joins him. Kakashi doesn't hear their footsteps but he does feel their familiar chakra, as bright as the sun and as scalding hot and dangerous as a forest fire.
Kurama doesn't say anything as he sits beside him, and it's in that moment that Kakashi realizes he hasn't seen the man all day, not even when the fight ended and everything went quiet.
Kakashi looks at him, but Kurama isn't looking back. No. He's looking at the village with an expression that Kakashi can't decipher. Oh, but how he wishes that he could. He would give anything to be able to read this man like one of his beloved books.
"I died today," Kakashi finds himself saying, unable, for once, to stand the silence.
"I know."
"I saw my father."
Kurama finally looks at him, and Kakashi can finally see. There's a deep grief in his blue eyes, a grief that looks as old as the man himself.
"How was it?" Kurama asks. He sounds tired, even more than Kakashi feels.
"Meeting him?"
"Dying."
The question hangs heavy in the air, and after a while Kurama looks back towards the village.
"All my life I've seen people either die or leave without me being able to do anything to prevent it. While I was here, I almost forgot how terrible war was for those who survive it," he sighs, then shakes his head. "I know we didn't lose anyone today thanks to Naruto, but..."
But we could have, he doesn't say. But we did, even if only for a short while.
Kakashi finally sits down, and it hits him suddenly that Kurama was probably already around when Uzushio was attacked and destroyed. That he had to witness his home be razed to the ground. His clan, his family, his friends, forever lost. And who knows where those who were able to run away ended up. Did Kurama escape with his parents? With a friend? And where are they, now?
Kakashi already knows the answer to that particular question for sure.
"But we're still here," Kakashi says, a gentleness in his voice he didn't think he was even capable of having. "And, you know, talking with my father made me realize something important."
Kurama looks at him so intently with those deep blue eyes of his, and Kakashi wonders, not for the first time, what is it about this man that makes him want to open up. Hatake Kakashi hates being vulnerable, so why does he want Kurama to know his every secret?
"While I was with him, we talked about a lot of things. I told him about my old team, my students, my mistakes and failures over the years, and," he stops for a moment. Has to look away from Kurama's blue eyes, "I talked about you, too."
There's a surprised sound from beside him, but Kakashi lets his eye rest on the sleeping village stretching in front of them.
"And I realized that, for you, I'd-"
A hand shots out, pressing against Kakashi's lips to silence him. The way Kurama is looking at him now is pained.
"If you're about to tell me that you'd die for me, don't," he sounds even more tired, and Kakashi can see it in the way his body is positioned that he's tense, so much that Kakshi almost fears it might hurt.
Gently, Kakashi grabs Kurama's wrist to pull his hand away from his lips, but instead of pushing it away he keeps it in his.
"I would have, before," he admits. Kurama's hand is warm in his, as he presses it over his heart. He can almost sense its warmth all the way under his jōnin uniform. "But that's not what I was about to say."
He looks at him again, and for the first time in forever Kakashi feels like everything is right in this shitty world they had been thrown in. That everything will be okay, no matter what the world throws at them. And a smile, gentle and small, pulls softly at his lips, hidden under his trusted mask.
For the first time, the little wrinkles forming around his eye are genuine
"I would live for you, Kurama."

When they have an S/O who thinks too much
NARUTO
Characters: Naruto, Shikamaru, Kiba and Gaara
He knows how much you can torture yourself with thoughts at times, to the point of having severe headaches at the end of the day.
So whenever he sees that you're too quiet and thoughtful, he knows he needs to do something
A/N: I'm a person who thinks too much so I decided to do this.
Naruto Uzumaki
Tumblr media
"Soooo what are we doing now?" He says smiling broadly at you.
Naruto realized you were overthinking again, and he couldn't let you torture yourself like that.
He can be a little distracted at times, but he always tries to pay attention to the smallest details when it comes to you.
"What?" You ask finally looking at him.
"How does your brain not short circuit?" Naruto thinks looking at his worried expression.
"Come on! don't think so much, you'll get headaches." He says taking your hand and pulling you.
"I can't stop thinking!"
"At least... Share them with me so you don't have to think for yourself."
"I don't want to frustrate you with my thoughts!"
"You won't! Your problems are my problems...but if you don't want to talk about it we can go train or get something to eat." He says, and you look at him fondly.
"You want to talk about it don't you?" He says smiling softly.
Man he knows you so well!
And then for the next two hours, you share your thoughts with Naruto, and man, that was great.
Shikamaru Nara
Tumblr media
"You're doing it again aren't you?" He says seeing his gaze fixed on something.
"Doing what?"
"Thinking madly until your brain explodes."
"I'm not- my brain ain't going to explode!" You say w and scowl at his shoulder.
"We hope not." You roll your eyes and walk away, and Shikamaru follows you.
"Want to chat about it? Or maybe do something to take your mind off it."
"Not if talking would help me"
"Well then it would be two brains thinking about it, and also maybe our two brains exploded, it's a possibility"
You smile, and Shikamaru feels more relieved by that.
"Can we go to lunch at ichiraku?" You ask holding his arm, and Shikamaru smiles at you.
"Alright, let's do this."
Yes, he would do anything for you.
Kiba Inuzuka
Tumblr media
Kiba looks at his expression, and all he wants is to ease whatever is going on in his head.
"Hey Y/n don't you want to see my new jutsu with Akamaru?" He says sitting next to your on the grass.
Akamaru seeing her worried expression, laid his head on your leg.
"Of course I do." You smile at him, but Kiba knows that the thoughts still torture your beautiful head.
"I feel like you're a little distant, is that okay?"
"Yeah I just... I'm thinking"
"Come on Y/n, let's do something!" He says lying on your leg too, next to Akamaru.
"I don't want Kiba."
"You're already torturing yourself, let's do something to distract you, come on now."
Kiba gets up and pulls you with him, putting his arm around your shoulders.
Gaara
Tumblr media
Gaara noticed that you were overthinking again during a meeting, you were sitting next to him, showing your support, but your eyes looked far away.
He knew he had to do something, he knows how cruel our minds can be and hurt us in a way that no one else can.
So now while the two of you are in your office, Gaara knows he needs to do something urgently.
"You... Could you call Kankuro please?" He asks carefully, and sees you look at him for what felt like the first time that day.
"Oh sure, I'll be right back."
'Yeah, that's the right thing to do' He thinks as he watches you leave.
"Yes Gaara?" Kankuro Says walking into the office with you right behind.
"Can you take care of things for me today? Y/n and I have some things to do." When he says that, you look at him doubtfully, but decide not to question anything in front of Kankuro.
"Oh sure lovebirds" Kankuro says and both his and Gaara's cheeks heat up.
Gaara stands up and walks over to you, taking your shoulder lightly and pushing you towards the door.
"See you later." Guys says and closes the door.
"I didn't know we had things to do." You say and Gaara blushes more.
"We can go to that Nova bakery that opened and then maybe… You can tell me what's been bothering you." You feel your heart warm at Gaara's sweet words.
"Thanks Gaara." You say and pull him in for a hug, which after a while in shock, Gaara return gratefully.

Thanks for that! I got my questions answered. But do you think treatment towards Sasuke was necessary? The part where he uses Tsukuyomi on him or the second time where he attacks him brutally and uses the same genjutsu again. It seems quite redundant, I think he didn't had to be so violent towards him. A large part of my doubts on Itachi raised through this post--
https://www.quora.com/Did-Itachi-really-love-Sasuke/answer/Indra-Nakari?ch=10&oid=178954935&share=ebfcccb7&srid=hjHWv1&target_type=answer
The writer's critisms on Itachi seemed fairly accurate. I want to know your thoughts on the post.
You're welcome. :)
When it comes to the fictional characters, I try to think outside of my personal feelings. Because a character's thoughts/feelings/motivations are determined by what they go through and their personal experiences. And theirs and my experiences are vastly different. If we haven't been into this character's shoes we can't accurately measure their actions which are the direct result of their emotions.
It's obvious people will judge characters based on their own feelings and experiences, but imo, there needs to be a fine line where you stop seeing yourself in fictional characters and judge them for who they are rather than how you want them to be. To me, it seems like the irl circumstances when you're telling someone your story and how you messed up, and someone who hasn't lived your life, suddenly pops up with the countless scenarios of could haves and should haves. Hindsight and not living through one's hell aren't very different, but are repeatedly applied.
It's the same with Itachi. No. I don't think torturing Sasuke was necessary or even the massacre was the answer to solve the political conflict in the village or joining a criminals' gang was necessary. However, it boils down to why did he think it was necessary. And that's more important than why any of us feel.
Here, we are talking about the child-soldiers and their psyche that gets damaged from a very young age. All kids — be it Itachi, Obito, Sasuke, or Nagato (mentioning the ones who went 'rogue') — have lost their loved ones and were changed by it.
I wrote a piece here talking about how Itachi's psychology influenced his actions throughout the story.
For the second time, while he was in the village, he was there to make sure Sasuke was safe/alive. He did not go out looking for Sasuke, but Sasuke, upon finding out Itachi was back, came to look for him. Now, Itachi expected to see hatred for him in Sasuke's eyes. He expected Sasuke to be more critical of him. But the way Sasuke reacted to his presence (jealousy because Itachi paid more attention to Naruto instead of him) told him Sauske didn't hate him enough. He was also there as a spy, working for both the Akatsuki and the Village. He needed to make sure neither of the sides suspected his loyalty was with the village and not the bad guys. If he'd let either of the sides know, imo, it could result in a major disaster. Konoha was home to the nine tailed beast and if the Akatsuki got their hands on it, it couldn't be anything good. The whole reason the Akatsuki refrained from attacking the village was because of him.
Objectively, yes, his treatment towards Sasuke was horrible, but from his perspective it was necessary. Because he ended up achieving certain goals.
With Sasuke's state as it was, Danzo wouldn't suspect Itachi had told him anything.
Sasuke 'hated' him more.
He'd also warned the village about the Akatsuki's plans, which with them wanting to kidnap Naruto, clearly did not bode well. It was after this Jiraiya took Naruto's training more seriously.
The most important thing for him was to keep up his cover or Sasuke's life would be in danger.
So, while to us what Itachi did was cruel, from his perspective it was necessary to do so for Sasuke's survival. Also, it's my own theory that what hurt Sauske the most wasn't the Tsukuyomi or witnessing the deaths of his parents on loop, but the fact that Itachi had done it. That he could be so cruel.
Coming to the second part of your question from the Quora link, I've read this response before when I was still struggling with my feelings about Itachi about certain things. And something seemed to be missing from this write up. What the person here has spoken are raw facts, but they significantly skip the emotional context behind Itachi's actions.
For example, if you're familiar with LotR, a large part of the fandom is overtly critical of Frodo's actions and hates him. According to them, 'He complained all the time. He only succeeded because he had Sam by his side. He couldn't have done anything without Sam. He failed in his mission. All he did was whine and complain while others did hard jobs.'
The people who say this are speaking complete facts but without any context attached to these words. They're the ones who project their personal feelings on fictional characters and fictional situations, which are harder than the ones we live in. I see a similar pattern in Itachi's criticism as well. And the answer you shared is the perfect example of that.
The writer uses a proper context to explain why Sauske was going to destroy the village, why Naruto understood Sauske, but that context somehow goes amiss when talking about Itachi.
Itachi was a kid who saw death when he wasn't prepared for it. Kids being brought to the war happened around the times Hashirama and Madara were kids. But Itachi was brought to see the reality of the Shinobi world when he was too little to comprehend the gravity of what he was witnessing. This is what changed him forever. Despite having his parents by his side, he raised himself. He was left alone in his formative years, entrusted with with responsibility that grown ups should have been handling, not a kid. And then, both his clan as well as the government placed the heavy burden of the world on his shoulders. The Uchiha did so unwittingly and the village knew what it was doing.
People expect him to be normal about it and make sound decisions that synchronize with their morals and feelings? It's not possible. It doesn't make his wrong decisions right, but it explains why he made those wrong decisions. Itachi lived in a terribly hopeless world and saw all the ugliness in its fullest glory. He knew wars and deaths. He was an Anbu. He knew even an entire clan couldn't fight against a system. Taking lives traumatized him too. Killing his own parents was more painful for him than most people give him a credit for.
So, expecting Itachi to function like a normal teen and then as a 21-year-old, while he never lived a single moment of his life he wasn't traumatized is wrong. He lived fearing death of the person he loved the most and wanted to stop it. His methods were terrible and he ended up hurting Sauske the most, but it wasn't done out of malice. If he believed there was better future for Sasuke and some hope for him, he might have acted much more differently. He might have trusted Naruto way before.
The criticism of the Edo Itachi is along the same lines but quite baseless this time. Itachi can talk to/about Naruto freely because he has no emotional connection towards him. He can't do that with Sasuke because he loves Sasuke too much.
People expect Itachi to burst into tears and seek Sasuke's forgiveness (a scene I would have loved to see myself), but they forget how damaged Itachi is to be able to express himself. He was a Shinobi who did things that required him to kill his own feelings. He isn't used to expressing himself. He stopped himself from expressing his feelings when he fought his final battle against Sasuke and gave in only in the end.
He wasn't running away from Sasuke because he didn't understand Sasuke's feelings, but because he understood them too much. It was his last ditch effort to make his brother continue to hate him, not knowing Sasuke had already believed the truth. From Itachi's POV, what did Tobi and Danzo's words mean if he doesn't confess them himself? He knew he was dead. He knew he couldn't stay back anymore, so talking to Sasuke and leaving him again, making him go through the pain of losing Itachi again... He didn't want that. If he really was more interested in Sasuke not chasing him, he would have done something stronger than summoning his crows to keep Sauske behind. Itachi didn't want Sasuke to kill people on his name or seek justice for him or tell anyone his truth. He wanted Sasuke to be known as the hero and respected for killing him (an S-rank criminal). He wanted Sauske to believe he could go back to his home and to his friends.
The reason he wouldn't spend more time with Sasuke and repeatedly said he was entrusting him with Naruto, was because Itachi didn't feel entitled to Sasuke's love, forgiveness, affection, and time. I can't stress on this enough. He didn't think he deserved any of this because he'd hurt him too much. Him hurting Sasuke previously was done out of sheer necessity (in his mind it was necessary) and he didn't want Sasuke to ever forgive him. He didn't expect this when he died for the first time and definitely not the second time. To him, Naruto was a better brother to Sasuke than Itachi was.
It's how he lived and this is how he wanted to die. But he confessed his feelings in the end, because he knew Sasuke deserved the truth. He also knew what he'd done to his litte brother, did not deserve forgiveness. He was okay with being hated by Sauske even now. He wanted Sauske to direct this love towards people who loved him and wouldn't hurt him (Naruto, here).
Also, the last word he uses to express his love is aishiteru, a Japanese word that means I love you, but is rarely used in the Japanese culture. It's to express the purest, kindest, highest, and most profound form of love.
Sasuke isn't being blind towards Itachi's flaws. If Itachi was alive, Sasuke would have been more critical of him. But when his brother is dead, he can't do it. He loved Itachi the most and unlike a lot of his fans, Sasuke, who was also a Shinobi, understood Itachi's perspective.
So, to conclude this, I agree Itachi hurt Sasuke a lot and there's no justification for that, but from his side, it was essential because he hadn't ever been able to hope for something better. He'd seen an entire clan being wiped out for wanting to change the system, and he himself had caused their destruction.
Both Itachi and Sasuke's feelings are totally justified. Itachi's love and guilt drove him to do all he did, and he is allowed to feel guilty. He is allowed to feel hopeless when literally no one ever supported him. Sasuke understood it. He was the only person in the world who saw Itachi as a human with feelings.
I can understand both of their point of views without having to hate or blame them when they both were the worst victims of the system. Itachi never even realized he was a victim and Sasuke has to live with its knowledge.
It became quite long. But here it is. This is my interpretation of Itachi and his actions. I don't see them as justified/unjustified because morals aren't that simple in their world. Seeing Naruto world from our world's perspective is quite tricky and everyone will become an unforgivable monster if we did.

My girls will change the world.
You're useless to me now.
Be proud to call yourself a Black Widow.
You're even useless as a lab rat.
You will build me an empire.
Killing you now would be too merciful.
I'll teach you how to kill. I'll teach you everything I know.
I'll teach you how to be human.
I will take care of you until you're no longer of use to me.
I can protect you both.
Don't fail me.
Don't do this.
"I'm sorry, Kakashi," you whispered, reaching out into a sea of memories and grasping at nothing but water that spilled between your fingers. Each of your memories felt impossibly far, and all you could do was watch helplessly as they fell away into a vast emptiness that was quickly consuming your mind. You saw flashes of pink and yellow and grey. You pictured smiles that appeared on ghosts and heard familiar laughter that echoed within your thoughts. You felt taunted by it.
But you were tired. Far too tired to do anything but watch as each of your most precious memories fell into oblivion. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I failed. I'm sorry."
Your mouth was moving without your permission, repeating words that you hoped would bring an end to the pain. Words that would make a difference if they were the ones he wanted to hear.
But he didn’t want apologies. He wanted submission.
He leaned over you, silver hair reflecting the light shining down on you. His eyes were harder than steel and his mouth was twisted into a grimace that you could clearly see through the thin black cloth of his mask. The expression looked wrong on him, and for a moment you remembered that this wasn't the true face of the man standing above you. It was a trick. Orochimaru...this was Orochimaru. He was tricking you—trying to confuse you. Kakashi wasn't here. He wasn't hurting you—he wouldn’t hurt you
But the thought slipped away as quickly as it had come, and after another shock of electricity made your limbs seize and your back arch against the unforgiving steel below you, it was Kakashi's face that you saw staring down at you.
You knew Kakashi. You held onto his memory like a vice. But as each day passed, you wondered why you were clinging so tightly to the memory of someone who was so cruel towards you.
It was his face you saw each time you felt that aching, raging pain in your head. It was his eyes that watched as the pain spread throughout the rest of your body. It was his smile that you stared at each day as hope drained from your limbs and left you a lifeless husk of a Widow.
Kakashi had betrayed you. And as each day passed with no respite or relief, you felt that betrayal turn into rage. Rage at the world. Rage at HYDRA.
Rage at Kakashi.
"Please..."
I'll teach you how to be human.
"Useless," Kakashi muttered, repeating the word that you'd heard countless times since this began and feeling it like a knife in your chest. The pain wouldn't stop. Not if you kept failing.
But he wouldn't tell you what he wanted. You would do anything he asked if he would only make this pain go away.
I can protect you.
"Again."
Electricity flooded you once more, and the silver hair taking up your field of vision blurred behind a blanket of tears.
You're not a lost cause
Words that you barely remembered now had been your anchor for so long, but you were starting to wonder why you were holding on so tightly. Maybe letting them slip through your fingers would be easier.
As the memories that you once considered the most precious ones you possessed floated into an abyss within your mind, you wondered why you had ever tried to hold onto them in the first place.
Don't do this.
Cold fingers gripped your face, and you looked at Kakashi's cruel eyes staring down at you. His fingers tightened on your cheeks
"Let me go," you mumbled, feeling a cold shock of fear as you looked into the steely face of your tormentor, "don't touch me."
Behind his mask, Kakashi's lips split into a grin, and you pressed yourself against the metal beneath you in an attempt to put distance between his unrelating grip and your face. His nails dug into your exposed skin, and you felt blood bloom through the cuts that formed as he gripped your face tighter and tighter.
Pain erupted in your chest once again. You closed your eyes and reached for an anchor and found nothing but darkness.
You wondered why you felt as if something was missing. You wondered why looking at Kakashi’s face above you each time the pain stopped felt so wrong.
But wondering was becoming exhausting. Instead of pondering on the answers, you let the questions slip far, far away.

Kakashi's circumstances had given him ample experience with suppressing his emotions.
It wasn't a skill he'd gained willingly. After so much loss and death, shutting out emotional responses to crises was almost instinctual. He felt that same instinct creeping towards him as he watched his bullet sliced through the air in near slow motion.
You didn't move. For a moment, he wondered if the world had frozen around him. Maybe it would give him a second chance and allow him to reach Naruto before the boy even found you.
Instead, the bullet continued on its path towards your hand, which moved only slightly, but not quick enough to be out of range. The movement gave Naruto enough time to dive to the ground, but neither he nor you had to worry about where the bullet would end up.
It hit the wrong target, lodging into the shoulder of a new figure that shot out in front of you.
Despite the force of the bullet entering her shoulder, Ino stood in front of you like a steel wall, blocking you from Kakashi's field of vision. Kakashi took in a deep, barely controlled breath and tried not to let his relief show on his face.
You and Ino both watched as Naruto scrambled to his feet and rushed towards Kakashi. The boy moved as fast as he could while running backwards and keeping his eyes locked on Ino and the gun that she was prying from your iron-tight grip.
Ino groaned, clutching her bleeding shoulder but remaining still and sturdy in front of you. Kakashi strained to get a glimpse of your face; any hint as to what you were thinking would satisfy him, but Ino let out a snarl when she realized what he was doing.
"You're so stupid," she growled, "why would you do that?"
Kakashi opened his mouth to respond—to tell her that you were very clearly bracing yourself to pull the trigger and kill Naruto, but the words got lodged in his throat when he heard a pained grunt come from behind the blonde girl's rigid body. Ino froze, attention shifting away from Kakashi immediately as she turned towards the source of the sound. The movement gave Kakashi enough of a glimpse to understand what had happened.
The bullet's trajectory had shifted. What was originally intended to hit your hand had changed its course through Ino's shoulder and ended up lodged in your chest.
"Ino," you muttered, emotionless and robotic. Ino cursed, removing her hands from her shoulder and letting them hover over your bloody shirt. Even from a distance, Kakashi could see that her fingers were beginning to tremble, "sorry, Ino. I'm sorry."
"Don't apologize, idiot," Ino shook her head, though the words were muttered with little malice. Instead, Kakashi saw deep concern in Ino's furrowed brows and the gentle movement of her hands. She tore away your shirt to reveal your bloody hand covering the wound, both it and your chest already coated with blood.
Deja vu tore into Kakashi like a knife in his stomach, ripping away at him and punishing him for all of the people he had hurt. The seeds of sorrow and guilt that had taken root when he couldn't stop you from leaving began to climb between his ribs and up his throat. The vines and leaves choked him and the thorns slied him open from the inside and he had to fight to keep himself steady.
You looked completely void of any emotion. Like the body he was seeing was simply a vessel, and you were somewhere deep inside of it, protecting yourself from the rest of the world and allowing your limbs to move on autopilot.
"Hey," Ino snapped, glaring your bloody fingers and scowling at the lack of response she got. "Stop it. You're only going to make it worse."
Kakashi could see blood oozing between your fingers in a dark red stream. It took a few moments for him to realize why Ino was chastising you—you had begun digging your fingers into the broken flesh, and blood was gushing from the wound faster than Ino could manage.
She pried your tense fingers away from where they were clutching your bleeding chest, finally giving her a good view of the damage that the bullet had done.
Kakashi hoped that it looked worse than it actually was.
He saw Naruto flinch from the corner of his eye, and he could practically feel the anger radiating off of the boy.
"What is this?" Naruto rumbled, hands curled into fists at his sides as he stared at you and Ino, "what happened?"
Kakashi shook his head, watching helplessly as Ino lifted your shirt over your head and pressed it firmly against your chest. You raised a hand automatically to hold the bloody cloth to your wound, eyes still clouded and distant.
"I can't believe this," Ino was grumbling, shaking her head like a disappointed parent as she stood and wrapped her own shirt around her shoulder to try and stop her bleeding. Within a few moments, she was kneeling at your side again. "I spend all this time trying to convince her that—hey, hey! Stay with me."
Your head was lolling to the side, and Ino's stoic expression finally broke. Fear etched across her features as her frown deepened, eyes widening each time you almost lost consciousness.
"Shit," Ino snapped, tapping your cheek and cursing again when she got no response. Kakashi stepped forward, finally allowing himself to close the gap between you. "You have a hospital, right?"
Kakashi nodded.
"Good. We're going there."
Kakashi swallowed thickly, wide eyes watching you try not to pass out as Ino gently coached you. He could still feel Naruto at his back, silently seething at the state they'd found you in.
It had been so long. So long since he'd seen you. Since he'd even known whether you were alive.
He watched the rise and fall of your chest intently, counting your shallow breaths and holding his own after each of your unsteady exhales, afraid that you would stop moving altogether the second he looked away.
He had done this to you. If you didn't wake up, it wouldn't be because of Orochimaru or HYDRA or any other threats that he desperately wanted you to be free from.
It would be his fault. His hands that ended your life.
"Kakashi-sensei," Naruto said lowly, voice sounding far away in Kakashi's distraction, "we found her."
Kakashi froze, eyes on his student as he radiated silent, tense anger. That was anger for you. Naruto didn't fear you anymore—not like he did the first time you met. Now he knew your heart, and he knew that this was not the same person who had left to protect them all. Something had happened, and it was obvious that they were missing crucial pieces of the past six months.
But through the worry and the questions and the endless guilt that plagued him, one thought brought Kakashi enough relief to get him moving towards the jet.
Finally.

Sasuke could tell that something was off even before he entered the conference room with Sakura.
Kakashi had told them nothing about how he and Naruto's mission had gone. In fact, Sasuke hadn't seen either of them in the hours since they'd returned. All he and Sakura knew was that it hadn't gone as planned, that neither of them were hurt, and that Sasuke and Sakura needed to wait a few hours before they could hear about it.
The waiting gave Sasuke a lot of time to wonder what could have happened on such a routine mission to cause this kind of delay.
"Do you think...maybe they found–"
"Don't," Sakura held a hand up. The two were standing in front of the closed conference room door listening to the muffled voices coming from inside. Sasuke heard Kakashi's voice, low and monotone, and he steeled himself for a worst case scenario.
Missions like this never went wrong. He honestly felt that calling it a mission was too generous. It was more of a training exercise to get Naruto more familiar with field work that didn't involve fighting. Naruto was talented—something that had only recently gotten easier for Sasuke to admit—but stealth wasn't exactly his strongest trait. That was why Kakashi chose an abandoned HYDRA outpost—to give Naruto some low-intensity field training.
Sasuke had looked into location himself. It was used for research in the eighties, but it was abandoned only a decade after it was built because of a data leak and subsequent raid by SHIELD. It was the perfect place to teach Naruto the finer points of stealth missions.
So, taking all of that into account, Sasuke was having a hard time understanding what had gone wrong.
"You two can come in," Kakashi said, voice muffled through the door. He sounded exhausted.
Sakura didn't hesitate to push the door open, but she stopped the second she got a good look at the room.
Sasuke immediately tensed when he saw a stranger sitting casually across from Kakashi and Naruto. She didn't look hostile, but Sasuke knew from experience how deceiving looks could be.
But judging from Sakura's expression, she knew who this woman was.
"Ino?" Sakura croaked, taking a small step forward before thinking better of it and waiting where she had easy access to the doorway, "what....what are you doing here?"
"Sakura," the stranger—Ino—said with a nod and poorly hidden relief.
Sasuke could immediately tell how much Ino was hiding from Sakura.
"It has...I can't believe—I mean, you're here. How...not that I'm not happy to see you, but I–"
Ino stood when Sakura began rambling out questions, and by the time she had begun asking the third, Ino had wrapped her arms around the girl and pulled her into a tight hug. Sasuke tensed, but Kakashi shot him a sharp look that told him not to interfere.
Ino grunted when Sakura lifted her arms to reciprocate the affection, masking her pained expression with a smile. Sakura backed away and narrowed her eyes, giving Ino a long look before her eyes shifted to Ino's shoulder.
"What happened?"
"It's nothing to worry about," Ino shook her head, sitting back down across from Kakashi and rolling her shoulder back, "there are other things that we need to talk about first."
Sakura was spiraling. Sasuke could see how overwhelmed she was without even seeing her face, and he stepped beside her.
"What's this about, Kakashi-sensei?"
"You should both sit down."
"Who is that?"
"Sasuke, now's not the time–"
"We found Y/N!"
Silence fell over the room. Kakashi deflated, running a hand over his face and confirming Naruto's statement with a small nod.
Sasuke swallowed. His throat felt like sandpaper. He fought the urge to turn to Sakura.
It had been seven months. Seven months since they'd gotten any answers. Any hint of what had happened to you.
"Where?" Sakura asked, leaning forward with her hands on the table and her wide eyes trained on Ino. "Where is she?"
"She's in the infirmary, but–"
Sakura was already moving, one hand on the door handle by the time Kakashi and Ino reached her. Kakashi grabbed her arm to halt her movements while Ino kicked a heel in front of the opening door, forcing Sakura to still.
"You can't see her right now."
"Why not?" Sakura asked, deathly calm and steadier than Sasuke felt. However, upon closer inspection, Sasuke saw that she looked moments away from losing her composure. Sasuke chanced a glance at Naruto, but his friend just stared at Sakura, devastation clear in is expression.
"I'll explain why," Ino said pointedly, glancing between Sakura and an empty chair next to Kakashi, "but you need to calm down and listen."
Sakura was practically shaking, hands balled into fists and trembling like she was seconds away from punching through a wall to get past Ino. Sasuke was not unconvinced that she could manage it.
"Sit down, Sakura," Ino ordered, finally getting the girl to back into the chair that Kakashi was pulling out for her.
"I guess there's no point in trying to hide things now, "Ino swallowed. "I've been working for Orochimaru since he left HYDRA."
Sasuke only knew about Ino from Kakashi's explanation of what had happened on your mission. He had no reason to trust her, and he certainly wasn't going to start after hearing this.
Kakashi had likely accounted for that when he placed Sasuke next to Naruto. He had his hands on Sasuke's shoulders before he could even stand to leap for Ino. Sasuke was shoved back into his seat and given a hard pat on the shoulder. He stayed pinned there by Kakashi's glare and Sakura's shockingly unfazed expression.
"I shot Y/N under HYDRA's orders, but if I hadn't been working for him, I would've killed her. HYDRA wanted her dead. It was Orochimaru who told me to keep her alive."
"Why?" Sakura choked, "Ino, what happened?"
"I told her that the bullet I shot her with was poisoned, and that the syringe I gave her contained an antidote, but that was a lie. The 'antidote' was actually a tracker. That's how Orochimaru knew where Kakashi's house was."
Kakashi had apparently not been informed of that fact yet, and this time it was Sakura holding him in place. She was squeezing it far too tightly for it to possibly be comforting, but shockingly, she looked like the calmest one in the room.
Perhaps she understood Ino's actions better than they ever could. Sasuke wondered if she would've done the same if their positions had been reversed.
"Orochimaru's experiments were all too flawed to be applicable to actual field He could speak and act through them because he was connected directly to their minds, but his control slipped easily, and there was always a point where the subjects essentially became robotic. Orochimaru gave them a command and they carried it out, but they were sloppy. Their performance declined, and trying to give them complex orders was very taxing on Orocihimaru.
"And because he wasn't producing results that would be viable in the field, HYDRA decided that they would only continue to fund his projects if he applied the Winter Soldier program's memory suppressing machine to his experiments. It had already yielded results, and while it wasn't exactly what Orochimaru was working towards, they saw it as a fair compromise. Orochimaru did not.
"He continued the experiments without taking HYDRA's input into consideration. Then he kidnapped Sakura. He thought it would give HYDRA an advantage over someone as important as Kakashi, but all it did was put an unnecessary target on HYDRA's back. But HYDRA only found out about her and his unauthorized experimentation when she and Y/N escaped. Those were his three strikes."
"I knew that Orochimaru had the capability to kill Sakura, so I approached him and offered my services in exchange for her safety. I didn't think..."
Ino looked thoroughly uncomfortable now. They were all vaguely aware of why Orochimaru was removed from the Red Room. None of this was exactly surprising.
It was what came next that was still a mystery.
"I want you all to know that this wasn't what I intended when I made the decisions that I did. But after I started working for Orochimaru, there was nothing I could do. He could've gone to HYDRA and told them that I was a traitor whenever he wanted. I...it was selfish, but–"
"It's okay, Ino," Sakura smiled, though it was obviously forced. She knew better than any of them that Orochimaru was not an easy man to defy, and on top of that HYDRA was a far more terrifying beast when one was put in the position of a double agent.
"He wanted Y/N because, aside from Sakura, she was the only Widow that HYDRA didn't control. He could get to her without having to go through them. He thought that if he brought them a Widow who could be controlled using the memory suppression machine, that they'd give him his position back.
"Wishful thinking," Sasuke muttered. Ino huffed.
"Well," Ino said, "you know as well as I do that Orochimaru is nothing if not stubborn. And he was desperate. Y/N was the only option he had left, and he deluded himself into thinking that anything he tried would be enough. He was also under the impression that the Red Room would fail without him."
"Would it?" Sasuke asked quietly
"No," Ino responded at the same time that Sakura scoffed, "it would do just fine."
"So why did he do all of this if he knew that they might not let him back?"
"Because he's delusional," Sakura answered immediately, "and he thinks he's a God."
"And he never imagined that they wouldn't let him back," Ino added, "but the machine didn't work on Y/N. At least, not in the way it does on the Winter Soldiers.
"The reason that the machine was used in the first place was because the recruits for the Winter Soldier program needed to become blank slates, completely susceptible to suggestion. In simple terms, it uses an outdated form of electrotherapy to wipe the memory of the subject. But Widows are very different. We're taught to be able to withstand torture at the age when normal kids would be learning addition. That was part of the reason why Orochimaru didn't want to use that method in the first place."
"So he knew it wouldn't work?" Naruto asked.
"He had a feeling. At the very least, he knew it wouldn't have the same effect as it does on someone without the Red Room's training. But he hoped that it would...well, for lack of a better word, he hoped it would reprogram her. He saw her as broken because she was able to resist the Red Room's conditioning and escape. He thought that the machine could be a way to bring her back to a state where she would be more susceptible to suggestion. That way he could show HYDRA that he was able to recondition an escaped Widow."
"But it didn't work?" Naruto whispered.
"No," Ino swallowed, "it didn't."
Ino glanced at Kakashi, a nervousness in her expression that made Sasuke uncomfortable. He wasn't sure how much more of this he wanted to hear.
This was the same man who held Sakura hostage for four years. This was the monster that haunted both your and her nightmares.
Sasuke felt his hatred like it was another entity inside of him. He greeted it like an old friend.
"For the first two months, he did the same thing every day. He used the machine, then Orochimaru would ask her questions. About her loyalty, about what she remembered. A lot of the questions centered around Kakashi. He acted like...Kakashi had somehow replaced him."
Sakura shook her head, hands clenched into fists on top of the table. Her hands were trembling with barely suppressed rage, and Sasuke knew that she would be in the gym releasing some of that anger on some poor punching bag after this meeting ended.
Maybe it would do him some good to join her.
"It wasn't pretty. But it also wasn't working. I tried to tell her that...that letting go of you both would make it easier. That it would make the pain stop. But it was like some part of her refused to give in. Even as her memories became scrambled, she still knew that you meant something to her.
"Orochimaru decided to change tactics after he saw how little progress he was making. He figured that, if he wanted her to let go of her sentiments and fully submit, he'd have to make her fear the person she refused to let go of. So he disguised himself as Kakashi and let her see his face each time they used the machine."
Sasuke thought back to the first time he'd seen you, long before he became close to you and certainly before he began trusting you. It was one of the first things he'd heard you say, and it was a warning to Sakura about this very circumstance.
"This is a trick. They’re trying to test our loyalty by showing you someone you trust. They’ve used it on me countless times. You may think you know this man, but you don’t."
"But if it didn't work...why doesn't she recognize me?"
Sasuke flinched. This wasn't fair. None of this was fair.
He wished more than anything that he'd killed Orochimaru when he'd had the chance. The man had been right in front of him the day you left, but he'd been too worried about Sakura to pay attention to anything else.
Guilt consumed him. He couldn't even bring himself to look at Sakura
She must hate you, a voice in the back of his mind whispered, you're no better than–
"Just because it didn't do what Orochimaru hoped doesn't mean it didn't have a significant effect. There's a lot missing from her memory, including any real memories she had with all of you after she escaped. The only reason she remembers Kakashi at all is because she thinks he tortured her."
Kakashi winced, eyes falling shut in the first outward display of emotion that Sasuke had seen from the man since Ino had started talking.
"By the time six months had passed, it was clear that the machine had done more harm than good. She became...a shell of herself. She was no good to Orochimaru if she couldn't hold her own in a fight, and after six months, Orochimaru had lost his leverage and knew that you were going to start searching for him. So he abandoned the experiment and left.
"The outpost you found us at was where Orochimaru was doing the experiment. He left her there and told me that he didn't need me anymore, so I stayed with her to make sure she didn't die. The first week...well, I'll spare you the details, but it wasn't pretty. I forced her to eat, but she didn't sleep for five days."
The silence in the room felt thick enough to choke on. Sasuke felt something within him snap at the sight of his teacher with his head in his hands.
"I tried to convince her that you aren't her enemy," Ino said slowly, looking at Kakashi. He slowly lifted his head to look at her, and Sasuke was alarmed to see that his eyes were glazed over, "but that kind of fear doesn't just go away. I thought I was making at least a bit of progress, and then..."
"Then I shot her," Kakashi murmured. Sasuke watched as far too many emotions crossed over Sakura's face in the few seconds before she turned to look at Kakashi. Anger, grief, understanding, devastation...he wasn't sure which she was going to land on when she finally acknowledged the man sitting next to her, but when she finally looked at him, her face was blank.
"What?" she whispered.
"I..." Kakashi repeated, "I'm sorry, Sakura. I thought she was going to kill Naruto, and I—"
Sakura puts a hand on the man's shoulder, silencing him. Her eyes were wide, moving back and forth as if she was trying to put together this endless puzzle that was becoming more complex by the minute.
"It's okay," she choked, "It'll be okay."
Sasuke knew that neither of them fully believed that.

Sleepless nights were nothing new to Kakashi.
It wasn't insomnia. At least, Kakashi wasn't exactly thrilled with that label. It was more of a choice. Recently, he found that he preferred being tired all day to facing the things that awaited him in his nightmares.
But tonight felt far heavier. He couldn't use Icha Icha to distract himself from the fact that the sun had risen before he had even closed his eyes, and he couldn't bring himself to lift his head from his hands for long enough to focus on anything other than the crushing weight of his guilt.
It's not your fault, Sakura's voice whispered in his head, it'll be okay.
Then he remembered your eyes, wide and terrified and directed at him.
It felt like someone had reached into his chest and crushed his heart in their hands.
It was happening again. He had done nothing but hurt the people he wanted to protect. He had failed Obito and Rin. He'd failed Sakura. And now he was failing you.
And you were within reach now. He could walk across the compound and see you in seconds if he wanted to. And he did want to. More than he thought he'd ever wanted anything.
But you were terrified of him. So terrified that the only thing he could picture when he closed his eyes was your expression when you'd looked at him for the first time in a year.
Some cruel, distant part of him wished that Orochimaru had still been with you when he found you. Just so he could've had the chance to tear the snake apart with his own hands.
It was that thought that encouraged him to leave the solitude of his room and seek a different type of loneliness in the common area. At least there, his thoughts wouldn't be echoing off of the walls of his bedroom.
He glanced down the hall to the room where you were still recovering, sedated and restrained until he could decide how to even begin helping you recover. It was dark save for a dim glow lighting the path for people like him who decided to take late night strolls through the compound. He was quick to walk away from the temptation of visiting you, fighting the strong urge to see for himself that you were safe.
But that would likely lead to more harm than good. Ino kept telling him that you were physically fine and to stop worrying so much, but that felt like an unreasonable thing to ask of him.
What finally broke him out of his spiraling thoughts was a small, almost inaudible gasp that came from the direction of the kitchen.
He would've heard it if Naruto, Sasuke, or Sakura had left their rooms earlier in the night, and Ino was staying in the room across from Sakura's.
His head turned far slower than it would have if he hadn't already put the pieces together.
There was only one other person who had stayed at the compound over night.
You were frozen against the far wall of the kitchen like Kakashi had backed you into it, but you looked anything but frightened. Instead of the shocked, terrified expression that he'd seen before, all he saw now was steely determination.
Then you were on top of him, one hand gripping his wrists above his head while the other reached for something in your back pocket. You put a knee on his stomach to keep him pinned, but he was able to throw you off with a twist of his hips.
This barely phased you, and you were ruthless as you jumped at him again. You kicked at his shins to try and knock him off balance, but he jumped over the attack and dodged the kitchen knife that you were hurtling at him when his feet were back on the ground.
"Does this," Kakashi panted when you landed a jab to his throat, halting his words and his breath for a few moments, "feel familiar at all?"
Your answering snarl felt like a resounding no, so Kakashi kept his defenses up while wondering whether this would end with him incapacitated. He could've called for help from his students—should've, in fact—but he found himself staying silent when the thought crossed his mind.
You didn't show him any mercy, and he realized with a slight feeling of discomfort that you'd been holding back against him when you sparred before. And now, even injured, you had the upper hand. You must've trained extensively in fighting through pain like this—it seemed like something Orochimaru would make you do.
He was beginning to understand why the Widows were so terrifying.
He was also starting to realize you might actually kill him.
Call for help, his mind shouted at him, stop this before she kills you!
But his lips stayed sealed shut.
As far as skill went, you and Kakashi were fairly evenly matched. What gave you the edge over him now was probably pure terror and rage.
Your kicks were something lethal—especially the one you delivered to his stomach, knocking him off balance and landing him on his back.
You didn't waste any time pinning him down again and raising the knife above your head with one hand. The other fell to his throat and squeezed, unrelenting.
"You won't hurt me anymore," you muttered. "I'm going to kill you."
He gasped, choking on air that refused to flow into his lungs. You tightened your hold when you heard the sound, baring your teeth and raising the knife higher.
And higher. And higher.
Then it stopped.
Kakashi felt as if years were passing as he waited for you to kill him. His vision was becoming spotty, and he wondered if he preferred dying before or after he was unconscious.
His students would be well taken care of. He and Guy had given extensive thought to what would happen if either of them could no longer take care of their charges. And, all things considered, Guy was likely a better influence than he was.
He thought of you and hoped that you'd forget him completely. He didn't want you to feel guilty for this.
Each thought crossed his mind, one after another, and still the knife was raised high above your head.
He was so focused on the sharp blade pointed at his neck that it felt like a shock of lightening when a tear landed on his cheek. He thought he'd imagined it until another landed on his lip, and a third on his nose.
Then he looked at you.
Your mouth was set in a hard line, but your face was streaked with fresh tears that continued to fall on him. The knife raised above him was shaking, and your eyes were focused on the hand that you had wrapped around his throat.
Your grip loosened considerably, and he took in a gasping, aching breath.
"Your hand," you whispered, voice cracked and words practically crumbling from your lips like a falling building.
Your eyes were still on his throat. Your fingers were tense on his neck, and his hand was wrapped tightly around your wrist. He hadn't even realized he'd moved it in his desperation for air, but now he understood that it was his hand that you were staring at.
"It's...warm."
Tumblr media
For seven months, your mind had been an echo-chamber.
You had a vague idea of the life you'd lived before you'd been strapped into that machine, but most of it felt like whispers from ghosts.
Familiarity redefined itself after you began losing your memories. It became the sudden, paralyzing feeling of electricity shocking you into painful submission. It became Kakashi Hatake's face hovering above you with hard, unforgiving eyes.
It became cold hands touching you. Kakashi's hands, always just as cold as the room you were trapped in.
Those were the familiarities that were trapped in your head. They were the only things that didn't slip away from you. Memories came and went in flashes of pink and yellow and blue. They came to you in kind words coming from a voice you didn't recognize and gentle touches from someone who's face you couldn't see, then fell between your fingers like sand the second you tried to wrap your arms around the memories and hold on as tight as possible.
Pain, cold, and Kakashi. Those were constants.
You grew to hate them. That hatred kept you sane.
It kept you alive.
Eventually, it was what you were forced to hold onto to keep you from slipping into a far-off world that promised protection and safety. You knew that place too well—you recognized it as a sanctuary that you'd been invited to before. But you rejected it, and some distant part of your mind told you that that was what you were supposed to do.
You'd been trained to reject weakness. And you'd rejected that quiet sanctuary in your mind many times before.
You fought hard to hold onto sanity, and your hatred acted as an anchor each time Kakashi's face appeared above you right before electricity ran rampant in your veins. You hated him. You hated him.
But as your tears landed on his face and you stared at the warm hand wrapped around your wrist, you felt your resolve falter. And when you looked in his eyes and saw that same warmth, it crumbled.
Kill him!
The words were rattling through your mind, stuck in an endless loop and trapped within the walls where only your rage existed. Nothing could get in and nothing could get out.
"Look at me."
The command was quiet, but there was force behind it. You found your eyes shifting up to meet his involuntarily, grip loosening on the knife in your hand.
He kept his hand on your wrist and lifted the other to your bicep. You stiffened, but waited until he had wrapped his hand around your arm and pressed his thumb against a scar that you'd forgotten was there.
"I stitched this," he said, shifting his thumb so that he could feel the ridges of the scar, "I was hoping it wouldn't scar as badly as it did. I didn't like seeing you hurt."
"Shut up," you snapped. Your head was aching. His hands were so warm. His eyes were kind.
The familiarity that you'd relied on to survive was gone. Pain had been replaced by gentle hands. Cold fingers were replaced by warm ones.
The only thing that remained was Kakashi, but...the man in front of you wasn't the same one you'd grown to hate. There was something different. His eyes, his hands, his voice...it was all different.
"I'm sorry," he muttered, choking on the words and letting his eyes fall shut. "I'm so sorry I let you go."
Your body was paralyzed. It wouldn't let you move your arm down to sink the knife into his chest. It kept you from ripping his hands off of you. It just kept you...frozen. Vulnerable. Weak
You hated it.
Your head was still pounding like a drumbeat, over and over until you wanted to curl into yourself and let your mind drift away.
"I never will again."
Kakashi's hand shifted away from your arm. It moved up, brushing your shoulder and grazing your jaw until it finally rested on your cheek. With a gentler touch than you'd thought was possible, he brushed a tear off of your skin. Your eyes were wide as he cupped your face in one hand. When he opened his eyes, they were soft and kind and clouded with tears.
They were warm.
Then, like a bullet shattering a sheet of glass, the echo-chamber within your mind shattered with one devastating feeling of familiarity.
You remembered this touch. You remembered this warmth.
The knife slipped from your hand and clattered to the floor.

No More Goodbyes
RiverOfTheSand
Summary:
She watched them saying goodbye for the umpteenth time, wondering how dense Gaara had to be to not notice Sakura's feelings for him. The way Tsunade saw it, she had two choices: get drunk on sakē for the rest of the day, or force Sakura into confessing her undying love to the Kazekage... decisions, decisions. *post-war*
Notes:
Cross-posted from fanfiction.net. This one-shot has been an effort and a half. It has everything I love about GaaSaku; heart, soul, reasonable doubt, elucidation and that burning need that can drive a person crazy... well, me at least. ;) Rated T. Hope you all enjoy. :)
A light breeze grazed the top slip of paper on the small pile of documents in front of her, and she frowned at it. Like an invisible hand was lifting it, the movement reminded her of something she'd seen before. Her office was getting draughty again.
"Naruto," she murmured. "Go away."
The future Rokudaime scratched his head. "What are you going on about baa-chan? I'm supposed to be–"
"It's too early for me to care about that."
"Granny, aren't you forgetting something?"
Tsunade looked up at Naruto. He was staring at her intently, the slight tilt of his head indicating his confusion and she wondered what the hell he was talking about.
"Gaara's leaving again soon," the knucklehead stated matter-of-factly. "Aren't you going to see him off, as the Hokage?"
She smiled. "No Naruto, I passed that on six months ago."
"Huh?"
"Didn't you notice?"
"Uh... no."
Tsunade sighed. "I decided to leave that up to Sakura."
"Huh?" Naruto looked pained. "Are you sure that was wise granny? You know how she feels about him."
"Yes Naruto, it's caught my attention. But Sakura isn't going to be able to move past this if she doesn't do or say anything about it. It's been six months since the end of the Fourth Great Shinobi War, and neither of them have said anything about it. I'm not sure what's going through Gaara's head, but knowing Sakura, she won't be able to keep her feelings to herself for much longer."
"I don't know baa-chan; she went through a lot to to get over Sasuke. I'm not sure she has it in her to confess her feelings like that to anyone ever again."
He wanted to believe she would, but the broken young woman who was his best friend had clammed up emotionally, and Naruto was scared for her. He told her he understood, that he would support her no matter what she did, but he was getting tired of watching her sulk over Gaara. He wasn't entirely sure what the former jinchuriki would do if Sakura confessed her undying love for him, but he knew that guy at least cared for her–she was his best friend after all. Even if he didn't like her the way she wanted him to, she needed to get this off her chest.
"We'll see Naruto, now get out of here–I still have paperwork to finalise."
"Yeah, yeah: I'll be back later, whether you like it or not."
The Hokage just scoffed, and swivelled in her chair to look out the window as Naruto left.
She stared out over Konoha, her eyes resting on the figure of her fellow Kage as he very slowly made his way toward the main gates–two ANBU trailing behind him. Sometimes, Temari or Kankuro would accompany him on one of his trips, but even they got tired of the back and forth. Tsunade often wondered about Gaara's excuses for coming here, and hoped he really did like Sakura–as much as she would miss her kouhai, she wanted her to be happy more than anything else in the world. She deserved someone who loved her as much as she loved him, no matter what village he came from.
She continued to watch Gaara, her fingers itching to just guzzle the unopened sakē hidden under the top drawer of her desk in one go. If he wasn't a Kage, she'd kick his arse for causing her adopted daughter such grief. So now she had a decision to make, and the sweet scent of the untouched elixir mere inches from her hand was telling her to make it hurt.
– No More Goodbyes –
"Step forward prisoner 727853-824442."
Sakura Haruno sighed inwardly. 'Not him again.'
Kotetsu Hagane glanced at Sakura before giving his full attention to process the prisoner. The dishevelled man wouldn't look at her, as usual, only responding to his guard enough to avoid receiving a jolt from a Raiton jutsu–all at the guard's whim. Sakura didn't want to be here anymore than this guy wanted her to; he always acted like she came here just to lord it over him that he'd lost and they'd kicked his arse in the end. But really, she'd let go of the notion that she had anything to gloat about.
It was overdue for him to do the same.
But he never would, she knew he never would.
Sakura sighed inwardly, preferring not to show him how much he still affected her. That chapter of her life was over now.
"You're hurt."
Sakura looked up, realising she'd been staring absentmindedly at the clipboard in her hands–it held the medical information for the man in front of her. She was at the prison only as a precaution, since there had been a few viral outbreaks recently–nothing catastrophic, but when acting in conjunction with prisoners who spent most of the day labouring in the hot sun and potentially cutting themselves with sharp instruments, it increased the risk of infections. And from the look of most of them, they needed all the hygiene they could get their grubby hands on.
The owner of the voice interrupting her thoughts was Izumo Kamizuki–the other guard standing to Sakura's left. His dark eyes were examining the prisoner closely, and narrowed at the sight of a gash on his arm. Said prisoner did nothing other than clench his fist imperceptibly before glancing toward the door that would elicit his freedom from his guards and medic. He didn't want their help, which wasn't surprising, but they were responsible for him all the same.
Reluctantly, Sakura tucked the chart under her arm and stepped toward the prisoner. He made no move to pull away from her and she healed his wound without physically touching him, but as usual, she was trembling inside... even after everything, he still scared her. She probably should've done that without moving from her spot–to save herself some heart palpitations–but that idea always came to her too late, also accompanied by an image of Kabuto doing something similar a long time ago, when Naruto's Kyuubi chakra had hurt her.
She hated herself for how much she still dwelled on those days.
Without a word, she returned to her position and averted her eyes from the prisoner once again... gazing unseeingly at the chart instead.
Kotetsu gave the prisoner another look over–this one a little more thorough, to make sure there were no more wounds. The man did have a habit of pretending he was alright, and had spent time isolated from the other prisoners for his stupidity–not that that seemed to have taught him anything–to ensure his infections weren't contagious.
Idiot.
Sakura watched him as he reacted to the invasion of his personal space, as stiff as ever, lamenting on how things had turned out, as she always did. If she had her way, she'd wipe her name from the list of "volunteers" and never have to come to the Konoha prison ever again. Unfortunately, Lady Tsunade had decided that all medics were obligated to sign up for this complete and utter waste of time. If these weren't war prisoners, and each and every one of them guilty of heinous crimes, it could be mistaken for charity. Sakura did not want to waste time on these people, when she could be in the hospital, helping sickly children or whatnot.
'Who am I kidding?' She thought grumpily. 'There aren't enough patients to go around over there.'
Ironically, the number of healers outweighed the need for them these days. If it wasn't for Tsunade's new missive, Sakura might very well not be able to pay her rent this week.
"Lady Sakura."
The voice to her right startled her–an ANBU carrying a message scroll... unusual here at the prison. Surely whatever it was could wait.
"Thank-you," she said softly, and the man disappeared in a cloud of smoke. She thought she recognised the chakra, but gave it no mind. Sakura opened the scroll as her companions now went through the items the angsty prisoner had brought with him–it was a weekly, routine thing, to make sure there was nothing missing. It had something to do with security, but she didn't care.
Sakura's eyes widened as she read the scroll, her stomach churning suddenly, and painfully.
'No...'
But really, she shouldn't be surprised. Again and again, she took this news to heart; Sakura ignored the suddenly curious stare of the prisoner as she struggled not to break down. The message scroll went unread by the rest of the room, so she could only imagine they worried what it said to make her pale on command. She hated herself for this, and the fact that this news hit her so hard every time. She cleared her throat, rolled the scroll back up and looked up at the curious guards, forcing a smile past her lips.
"Later," she said, grateful that her voice was firm and detached.
She didn't wait for a response, instead ambling on her way out of the prison. This wasn't the place she'd rather be of course, and since life in Konoha was so ridiculously peaceful now, even normal missions were spread a bit more thinly. She supposed she should be grateful–the fifth Hokage and her imminent successor were cleaning up the mess that was the Fourth Shinobi War so efficiently that mission casualties were non-existent right now–it was just a strange feeling, not to be needed.
Naruto had however, told her that peace was merely a step between the problems, and they must be ever vigilant to prevent the next great war, no matter how easy things seemed to be right now. He was starting to sound like Lee.
"Shit." Sakura groaned, hastening her pace now, as she realised she'd been lost in delirium for a few minutes, and according to the message scroll, it was happening now. "I'm going to be late."
She had one thing to look forward to these days, above all others–the monthly visits from the Kazekage. Gaara came to Konoha under the guise of friendship with Naruto (or whatever political things they were preparing for, since it wouldn't be long now, before the blonde took the title of the Rokudaime Hokage), and Sakura took advantage of each and every single one. She loved him, she knew it, and even Naruto had seen it as her feelings blossomed during the war. Sakura felt so desperately drawn to Gaara that she wasn't surprised when he turned out to be just like Sasuke–he didn't like her that way anymore than the Uchiha did.
She was sure Gaara only saw her as a friend.
So Sakura spent the war hiding her feelings. The only people who knew were Naruto, her shishou and Ino. But once the fighting was over, she could've killed herself with the fear and despair when he went back to his village as though there was nothing between them. She remembered the day that had made her realise that he had no interest in her as anything other than an acquaintance because she happened to be Naruto's best friend.
...Flashback...
"You going to find a nice guy and settle down Sakura?"
The older sister of the Kazekage had called her over to the apartment she was sharing with her brothers, and Sakura was beginning to suspect it was because she was  dying  to tell someone that Shikamaru had finally made their relationship official–they just needed to go public.
"Yeah," the pinkette said wistfully, forcing herself not to look at Gaara as he and Kankuro sat three feet away, playing shōgi. Kankuro had challenged Shikamaru to that game numerous times over the course of the war, determined to beat him (and failing each and every time), and was now using Gaara as a guinea pig to see where he was going wrong. Unfortunately, for the puppet master, he'd chosen an opponent who was more than capable of kicking his arse.
Meanwhile, Temari was nervously wiping her iron fan, even though it clearly didn't need cleaning. Sakura sipped her tea thoughtfully, knowing the blonde wanted a much more detailed answer from her before she spilled her own beans on the subject.
She swallowed heavily. "I don't know who it'll be with but... I will, I suppose."
"You suppose?"
"It's the accepted norm," Kankuro said wisely, his eyes glued to the shōgi board. "Everyone expects that getting married and raising some hell raisers is what everyone should be doing."
"That's for civilians," Gaara countered, also keeping his eyes on the game. "Shinobi are different."
"How so, little bro?"
"Despite the fact that we live longer naturally, through our consistent use of chakra, we actually die sooner for the most part, due to missions, wars, or whatever. Such things are deterrents to people who do not wish to burden a spouse or marital partner with the knowledge that the next mission might be their last."
"And the clans," Kankuro said. "What about them?"
Gaara reached out almost tentatively, pushing one of his pieces along the board, earning a grunt from his older brother. "Their leaders are obligated to keep their kekkei genkai, or the jutsu their clan is known for, alive through arranged marriages, and in the case of the bloodline limits, in the family. The clan members have little to no choice but to choose a suitable mate to keep the traditions going–it has nothing to do with societal views or life expectancy."
"Well I'm getting married," Kankuro said cheerfully, his eyes lifting from the shōgi board. "There are lots of girls out there, just ripe for the picking."
"I definitely won't be," Gaara murmured softly.
Hands clasping her tea cup tightly, Sakura stiffened unperceptively. She knew that Suna didn't have the marriage policy for their Kazekage in place anymore–really, it wasn't like they were a monarch, and therefore producing offspring was his civic duty–but it was surprising to hear Gaara say he had no plans to settle down. Her heart plummeted at these words, realising once and for all that she had no chance with him, but at the same time, the fact that he had no-one else in mind was a small comfort... ridiculously so.
Still, Sakura fought back the disappointment in her voice as she replied to his comment. "You don't know you never will."
"Waste of time," Gaara grunted softly, now ignoring her. Kankuro gave his brother a Cheshire grin, and took his turn... and lost the smirk when Gaara immediately retaliated. "Check-mate," the redhead said calmly, and stood immediately. He headed toward the bathroom as Kankuro gaped distastefully at the shōgi board.
"Well, it's been fun," Sakura lied, placing her tea cup down and standing up. "But I have some work to do. Congratulations on the relationship with Shikamaru, Temari. Bye."
Sakura was half-way out the door when Kankuro's booming voice cried out: "WHAT RELATIONSHIP?"
Sakura left quickly, flash-stepping toward her apartment the moment her sandals hit the roof of the hotel. She wasn't paying attention to what she was doing, just getting inside the seals as she normally did–habitual movements and muscle memory. Her mind was blank as she kicked off her shoes, stripped off her weapons (it was standard procedure to carry weapons, being a ninja), and headed straight for her bathroom.
She wasn't thinking clearly, that was it; Sakura forewent undressing and just stepped into her shower. The water was scalding hot, but she didn't care. She didn't register the tears, the sobs, or the grating sound of her fingernails scraping at the shower tiles. All she could feel was cold despite the scalding water, fear despite being in the comfort of her own home, and gut wrenching pain...
Half an hour later, Sakura wrung out her wet shirt absentmindedly, her hands still shaking. How the hell could she have let this happen to her, again? First she spent an inordinate amount of time daydreaming over Sasuke, who then became a missing-nin and tried to kill her, now she was pining after Gaara... and who knew what was going on in that head of his? She was a sucker for unrequited love, and she was sick to  death  of it.
...End Flashback...
That had been mere days after the end of the war, and less than two weeks later, Gaara had begun his monthly trips to Konoha. Her shishou had placed her on the roster to escort the Kazekage through the village, and she secretly hated her for it. Still, Gaara became more pleasant to speak with, and he never raised the issue with her that had upset her in the first place–not that he knew it had–and she started to look forward to his visits, instead of dreading being in the presence of someone who would never return her feelings. She'd just decided to take what she could get.
After all, if he had no intention of settling down, she had no-one to be jealous over...
Sakura stopped suddenly, realising she'd arrived at the main gates without noticing. Shading her eyes from the sun, she looked up and around–Gaara wasn't here yet, so she wasn't late after all. The guards on duty... their names escaped her right now ...waved to her and she returned the gesture out of habit more than anything, and etiquette.
She was stronger than the stupid girl who'd sobbed and begged Sasuke not to abandon the village, and vowed she'd cried over Gaara for the last time. But unlike with Sasuke, Gaara didn't know about her feelings, so she only had herself to blame for the lack of resolution for said feelings. She supposed, today was as good as any. It would be more humiliating to tell Gaara she was in love with him immediately before having to spend several days seeing to his needs when he wasn't in meetings with leaf officials–it wasn't like she trailed around after him.
And, despite her desire to spend more time with him, Sakura didn't want to do this again. She'd stood at the gates to Konoha, like the good little dignitary she was, and seen Gaara off every time his visit came to its inevitable end. She would smile, he was polite, and yet neither of them seemed to want to make eye contact. She had to say goodbye, and Sakura wasn't sure she had it in her to do this all over again.
No, there would be no more goodbyes after this.
– No More Goodbyes –
The cold always left him in pain. He supposed he was just used to the heat of Suna, but even the warmth of Konoha left him wanting. A cool breeze, much like the hint of winter, swept through his hotel room as Gaara absentmindedly packed. He felt lonely even when surrounded, so trips to the leaf with only ANBU as company were that and boring. He only came here to see Sakura, after all, and she didn't even know it.
Temari was the only person who knew about his infatuation. He had worked alongside her in the war, as she'd been assigned as his personal medic a few times, but it was her temper and his own stubbornness during those times that stood out the most.
Gaara sighed.
He was thinking about her a lot lately, and it was driving him insane. He had no idea how to go about changing the nature of their relationship, especially considering the only time they'd both been part of the same conversation involving romantic futures he'd ridiculed the idea of wanting someone by his side. He hadn't understood at the time, just how good it could feel, to want someone, or be wanted, outside the friend context.
But did he really get it, now? When he stopped to think about what it was he wanted from the feisty pinkette, all that came to mind was her time and attention. Sexuality and romantic situations only occurred to him after talking to others. Kankuro asked him when he was going to go ahead and finally get laid. Temari asked him when he was going to go ahead and finally ask Sakura out–or confess his love, whatever. He never answered them.
"Are you ready, Lord Kazekage?"
Gaara nodded to his ANBU guard and allowed the man to carry his bag for him. Like he needed him to. This was something he didn't think he'd ever get used to. He looked up at the Hokage Tower before turning his attention toward the main gates. Lost in his thoughts, Gaara relied on muscle memory and habit to steer him where he needed to go.
The Godaime Hokage had not allowed him to see Sakura so much this visit, so Gaara had sulked in his room a lot–though he would never let anyone, even his siblings, to see him pout over a girl. Sakura had given him his diplomatically demanded medical check-up every other time he'd come to Konoha, but this time, Tsunade was adamant about him keeping his distance. What the hell was going on? That mouse of a woman, Shizune… something, was the one who had seen to him this time, not that he'd really needed medical attention. Being a Kage meant that he should. It was both standard procedure and good politics.
But the question of what was going on was buzzing around in Gaara's head.
It wasn't like the Hokage owed him an explanation–the treaty between their nations didn't stipulate that a specific doctor had to see to him every time. And Gaara did feel a little foolish having looked forward to his physical exams when the pinkette was doing them. That other woman had cold hands.
Gaara shivered involuntarily at that thought, looking up as he realised he was close enough to the gates to see that Sakura was already waiting for him. Seeing her always brought back memories of the times he was too stupid to realise his interest in her was more than professional.
...Flashback...
It had started with him saving her life, escalated into an argument–about all the reasons why she hadn't needed saving and he was  not  stronger than her–and ended with him wishing he'd just left her to the mercy of those Zetsu clones. It wasn't like he was expecting a confession of undying love, let alone a ridiculously corny Valentine's card, but would it  kill  her to say "thank-you" in return for him not letting her get skewered?
Apparently, it would've.
That was when he finally understood what Shikamaru had been going on about for years, and why Naruto was waiting to start dating Hinata until the war was over–women were nothing but a nuisance.
But as the  Regimental Leader of the Allied Shinobi Forces, he had to at least appear like he cared if she had broken her nail beating the crap out of Naruto. Not that she verbally complained, but he caught her staring forlornly at her cuticles a number of times, as though her disappointment would magically grow them back.  And they fought over everything, argued every day, and barely spoke unless doing either–his medical check-ups notwithstanding.
The allied forces even had a bet going on who would snap and kill the other first.
It was toward the end of the war, one specific day, that had turned them around. Gaara fought and sealed his resurrected father. Sakura caught him crying in his tent. He'd sobbed on the battlefield, which was bad enough, but the quite tears were the ones that ended up on display. But instead of making some snappy retort (like he'd feared she would, though Naruto had insisted to him later that Sakura would never do such a thing, no matter how much she hated him), she'd knelt down beside him. Gaara could still remember the feeling of her breast against his cheek as she held him.
Just being there, being his friend, she'd affected him more than she would ever know. More than  he  would know either–until the war was over, he was finally back in Suna, and he quickly discovered that he actually  missed  that insufferable Kunoichi.
...End Flashback...
And so began his visits to see her, making up excuse after excuse so that even Kankuro was suspicious of his reasons. But this back and forth was tormenting him. He needed to decide on what to do about this attachment he'd developed and clear things up once and for all.
– No More Goodbyes –
"Hey, Gaara."
Gaara nodded to Sakura, as he always did, and motioned to his ANBU guards–they disappeared from sight, now waiting for him along the path out of Konoha. Sakura looked startled at this, but quickly covered it with a smile.
"I suppose this is goodbye again," she said, fiddling with her thumbs nervously.
He smiled genially at this, not sure what it was she wanted him to say. But he spoke with conviction, remembering every visit he'd ever made to Konoha, in an attempt to let her know how he felt, had ended the same way. "We always seem to be saying goodbye, don't we?"
She nodded. "Uh... Gaara?"
"Yes?"
Sakura swallowed back the bile threatening to sear her throat and clenched her fists. 'Get a grip, Sakura!'
She really needed to do this before she lost her nerve. "I've been thinking... um..." She shifted uncomfortably. "I wanted to tell you... I love you." Her eyes fell to the ground.
Great... she'd evolved her love confessions from becoming a sobbing mess to pretending her shoes were more interesting than the object of said confession. Sakura forced herself, rather painfully, to look up at Gaara. The shock was obvious... was that a good or bad thing? At least he didn't look disgusted.
"I've loved you for a long time," she heard herself saying–rambling; she couldn't stop herself. "And I completely understand if you don't feel the same way–who would, right?–it's just I can't do this anymore, the whole escorting you thing. I can't be around you anymore, not like this. So it's best if–"
She ignored the sudden intake of breath from the nearby, tactless guards as Gaara interrupted her rambling to kiss her. His lips were warm, slightly parted, and enticing as she immediately and unconsciously leant into him, returning the kiss. Gaara's hands were unobtrusive as they slid up her sides; his right hand slipped down behind her, falling to the small of her back, while his left hand ran through her hair, pulling her more tightly to him.
Sakura parted her lips, letting him in and just enjoying being held by the Kazekage as he took control. It was the most amazing feeling–she'd never kissed anyone before! Her heart was racing, but not painfully so, and the feel of his body pressed against hers only added to the tingling sensation ripping through her as she lost herself to the delirium.
She was breathless when Gaara finally pulled away, barely able to stand on her own two feet. There were no words to describe that... he'd literally stolen her breath away, and she had nothing left to use. She tried, but couldn't speak.
So Sakura just lowered her head to his chest, holding tightly to the front of his Kazekage robes. Gaara chuckled, the light reverberation no more than a purr in his chest as she inhaled his scent. Sakura looked up at him, her eyes locking with his, losing their fear as he smiled back at her.
"Promise me," she said breathily. "You won't leave me again."
"No more goodbyes," he promised.
– No More Goodbyes –
High above and on the other side of the village, she watched them saying goodbye for the umpteenth time, wondering how dense Gaara had to be to not notice Sakura's feelings for him. The way Tsunade saw it, she had two choices: get drunk on sakē for the rest of the day, or force Sakura into confessing her undying love to the Kazekage... decisions, decisions.
Hm...
Like always, she could see everything from her open window, spying on her fellow ninja, just like countless Hokage before her (though each had their own methods). She'd attempted to change the dynamic of their encounters this time around, by keeping Gaara from Sakura's side, since it was human nature to be lulled into a comfortable routine, rather than work up the nerve to break that monotony. So far, she'd seen a grumpier Gaara, more depressed Sakura, startled Naruto, and an increase in her own consumption of sakē. This gave her the hope that the Kazekage was missing the pinkette's company, and would respond more favourably to a confession from the young woman.
Hopefully.
Finally making her decision, Tsunade grabbed the sakē bottle from under her desk, keeping her eyes on the distant forms of the two lovebirds as they embraced. And then she smiled slightly before turning away from the sight. "Sakē it is."

Ooh question, you mentioned rewatching as an adult, and I'm curious, what kinds of things do you view differently now? I'm rereading the manga after a long time too, and the big thing I'm noticing is that I have more compassion now, especially towards characters who I didn't realize reminded me of myself and not in the best ways 😂 And especially during part 1 I found myself wondering why we don't see their parents more often (for those who still have them) and who took care of them growing up (for the others).
I have felt similar!! Ok I’m gonna maybe list stuff out on what I’ve noticed I view differently.
Very long post under the cut of me rambling (again)!
1. My Opinion on What I Consider Good Media Has Changed
Tumblr media
Starting with this one as I feel it’s a big overarching thing that’ll dictate all my other opinions and thoughts. I’ve watched, read, and listened to A LOT of other series and media since I first started watching Naruto (also you know life experience and such), so I have a better idea of what is “good” media and what is “bad.” When I was younger, I considered Naruto to be the best of the best, but I don’t think that now (as far as anime that title now goes to FMA:B it’s very good please watch it if you haven’t oh my god). It has a lot of flaws, some endearing and others… not so much. Granted that’s any piece of media. Nothing is perfect (not even FMA:B). But despite that, I’ve also learned that it’s ok to still enjoy it!! Imo it’s not all bad, I mean, we’re still here discussing it yea?
I guess the TLDR of this part is: it’s cringe but that’s ok cuz life is short and we should enjoy the stuff we like.
2. Female Characters/Feminism
Tumblr media
I feel like, while these are different topics, they’re very linked together in how I watch Naruto now so I’m putting them together. When I was younger, I didn’t like really any of the female cast (except Tenten). I found them “annoying,” to put it simply. Sakura always chasing after Sasuke?? Lame. Ino being obsessed with her looks?? Shallow. Hinata losing to Neji? Weak. I began to think that I didn’t like those characters because I didn’t like female characters mostly as a whole (which is kinda hilarious cuz I did start making Chihiro back then who does in fact identify as a woman LOL!!). But this negative attitude towards female characters not only leaked into how I consumed other media, but how I saw myself and other women irl. Like I distinctly remember believing that a woman could never beat a guy in anything. Which is uh… not true!! And kinda fucked up!!!
Now that I’m older I just realize that kishimoto doesn’t know how to write women all that well. Imo, it’s not the girls’ faults, it’s their creator. Which is disappointing but also freeing almost?? Plus, I can now appreciate what good they do have to offer!! (I talked a little about the konoha 12 girls and what I like about them in this ask in case you’d like details on individual characters)
I think also being exposed to other fans with differing opinions and views has helped me with this as well. When I first started watching I didn’t really go online (wasn’t a thing in Cuba plus I wasn’t really interested), so I didn’t really have other perspectives to bounce off of.
Also wanted to add that there are definitely parts of the show I laughed off before but you know, just are not acceptable nowadays. Mainly thinking of Shikamaru talking down on girls/women, Neji made a rude comment about girls too (that Tenten corrected him on tho thank you queen), and some bits that could be perceived as a little transphobic (I’m not trans tho so I don’t wanna speak for them on that bit). Its viewpoints that I feel are a product of the time, but does not make the overall series bad per se.
3. Seeing Other Children as a Child VS as an Adult
Tumblr media
Ngl since I grew up with Naruto, I feel as if I will always see them as my peers in a sense. If anything, almost like the “older kids” in school. Like I don’t know if this is a common perception, but I remember when I was like in 2nd grade I saw 6th graders as like tiny adults, but then when I was in 6th grade I saw 2nd graders as like babies. Does that make sense?? Anyway, it’s interesting rewatching Naruto as an adult and seeing my “peers” when they were younger. I remember thinking that 12 & 13 year olds were badass and cool and practically ready for the real world (I was like 8 or 9 when I first started watching leave me alone), and being amazed at stuff like the chunin exams. Nowadays my brain just kinda goes “why are we letting these CHILDREN go to war???” It’s a similar story with like the sensei. Thinking they’re so experienced and old and… now I’m the same age as them and I’m still young!!
4. Might Gai is Cringe and I Love Him For That
Tumblr media
The way I didn’t appreciate this man when I was a kid is a CRIME. Teaching his students (and friends) that it’s important to find joy in life is SO IMPORTANT and Gai just does an EXCELLENT job with that!! He strives to be a source of light for the people in his life, and to show others it’s important to smile and laugh from time to time. It warms my cold dead grownup heart what can I say. There’s a line in OG Naruto after Lee beats Sasuke in their fight before the chunin exams, where Naruto turns to Sasuke and Sakura as their cringing at Lee and Gai and says, “actually, it’s kinda sweet how they’re all hugging and stuff!” And that kinda summarizes my thoughts on them.
TLDR Might Gai is cringe but he is free and I love him so much for that.
5. Seeing Myself in Characters I Didn’t Before
Tumblr media
Off the top of my head, the three characters I see myself in more so now than when I was younger is definitely Choji, Lee, and Tenten.
I was never popular growing up, especially when I moved back to the US after living in Cuba. Kids just didn’t wanna play with me or have me on their sports teams, so I was purposefully left out oftentimes, kinda like how choji was when he was younger. Rewatching that part made me cry honestly HAHA I saw myself so clearly. I’m also plus size so the beauty standards he has to deal with really speak to me. I remember Shikamaru telling him one time that girls don’t have to be skinny to be pretty and I would be lying if that didn’t give me a huge amount of confidence in myself.
Rock Lee’s story has always been top notch, but as someone who chose to specialize in a path that I didn’t really have natural talent for myself it REALLY speaks to me now. I’ll be 100% honest, I was never really one of those “been drawing since I could hold a pencil” kind of kids. I liked it, but I didn’t really consider myself any good until like 8th grade or so. Anyway, there’s this scene where Lee is crying at the training grounds cuz he’s scared that, no matter how hard he works, it’ll all be for nothing and that he’ll always be a loser, and uh… had to turn the show off cuz that struck WAAAAAAAY too close to home for me as an artist with a… let’s be real, a failing art business. Anyway, he inspires me though to keep going cuz this is what brings me joy. I may take longer than most, but that doesn’t mean I’m less of a person for it.
Tenten I’ve honestly seen a lot of myself in even when I was younger! But there’s this filler episode that goes into detail on how she tried really hard to be just like Tsunade, since that was her dream since she was little. Turns out she doesn’t have the capacity to do that (not being able to do medical ninjutsu well, etc), but she finds her own strengths along the way. What really spoke to me was letting go of your childhood dreams. It’s hard. It feels like you’re failing in a way. But Tenten was able to persevere and find a new and even better path forward for herself. And that’s just amazing. I love seeing that, and it helps me feel as if I too and maybe find my path.
6. Final Thoughts and Random Little Things
Tumblr media
I think it’s also safe to say that I can pick up on story flaws (I’m looking at you 4th great ninja war arc) and inconsistencies (how the heck does the hyuga clan work wtf). It’s a long series and nowadays you can binge the whole thing in one sitting (I don’t recommend that please take care of yourself). Back in my day I had to wait a whole week to watch the next 26 minute episode with commercials in between. Also I was a kid. AHAHA!! But again, long series, so I’m sure Kishi forgot about certain details while he was being pushed to continue the series.
Also my views on certain things that happened in the series changed based on what I know what happens later, which I find to be quite fun!
Overall I still enjoy the series, both for similar reasons as I did back in the day (Neji) and for new reasons!! Flaws and all. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk

I saw this and agree and need to rant. Yes she's came to appreciate his strength and wants him to achieve his dream yet at the same time Naruto does anything Naruto she yells and acts like she's better than him and uses violence not just for comedy reasons. Someone said that Sakura just mothers Naruto which is not the case she just acts like that since she thinks she's better.
There were only just a few moments when Sakura's anger towards Naruto's actions was justified but her violent outbursts in reaction are not justified no matter the case. Like when Naruto made fun of Lee and Sakura just straight up punched him for doing that despite she did the same before.
She come to respect Naruto's strength like the villagers did but not Naruto as who he is. She is just like the other villagers. Which is why no one understands him and despite wanting to help him out they do so in the wrong ways or say wrong things to him. They see him as a hero or future Hokage so do things to help the hero they want him to be but not Naruto the person who he is.
Naruto didn't call villagers out for their bad mistreatment of himself so why would Naruto call Sakura's behavior out? Even during her confession when she said exactly what Naruto was afraid of that idea that people only like him because he's now a hero he didn't even call those words out he just told her not to lie about her feelings towards Sasuke.
Naruto and Sakura as best friends never works. Sakura as the smart mother hen never works. Because this is not who they are. She is like the rest of the villagers. Only difference is she was closer to Naruto in that they were on the same team and since Naruto is the main character he wants everyone to get along. There was never an indication where Sakura made correct observation about Naruto as a person. She always related his actions to herself whether it was about bringing Sasuke back or thinking Naruto would accept that very bad confession. At the end she respects his Hokage hero dream and that's it. She does not understand him and I don't know how Naruto puts up with it all.
i feel bad when people write me rants and i only reply “i agree” but… i totally agree! i’ve talked about naruto and sakura’s relationship many times before, and i surely mentioned that sakura is pretty much like any other konoha ninja, naruto basically has to prove himself and earn her respect, she does not see him as a person, even her fake confession is about sasuke being a criminal and naruto being a hero. and even among konoha people, naruto has better relationships with other characters like sai, shikamaru and neji, those characters have supported naruto more than sakura and there is also the fact that she resents him for being more capable than her and, of course, getting sasuke’s love and attention. i don’t know if sakura really believes she is better than naruto, she seems very aware that she can’t do much, but she is insecure, so she tries to compensate that, that’s why she brags a lot, but she ends up being all talking and no doing. i also agree with what you said about her violence, it’s nowhere near justified… she punches naruto because sai called ino beautiful like- and it wouldn’t make sense of naruto to call her out for her bullshit when he doesn’t hold anyone accountable for how they treated him… maybe that could be the case if kishimoto didn’t make him so repressed, but i understand why that was never written. again, i agree with everything you said.

Pregnancy Cravings
Orochimaru x Pregnant!Reader
Synopsis: The closer you get to your due date, the more you begin to crave certain food items. You were lucky that Orochimaru paid attention and ensured the hideouts were full of those cravings. Happy wife, happy life.
Naruto Masterlist: Marvelmymarvelmaster
A/n: The people requested a Pregnant reader with Orochimaru, and who the hell am I NOT to deliver.
Tumblr media
Orochimaru was nervous and had been feeling anxious for the past few months. He let his golden eyes drift over to the couch in the lab, where you sat happily munching on some chips that were nestled carefully between your crossed legs.
You were around seven months pregnant, meaning the bag had little space to sit in the opening between your legs. He smirked, finding it adorable that you still put it there, knowing it barely fit. "Unless you're going to get me ice cream quit staring," you muttered playfully as you dipped your hand into the bag to get more chips.
Orochimaru turned to face you fully, lips curling into a sweet smile. You were the only person allowed to talk to him like that. And he was more than happy to allow it. You were growing his baby, after all. "Would you like some ice cream, my love?"
Your eyes widened, and you nodded quickly as the sound of the bag being rolled up echoed in the lab. "Yes, please!" Orochimaru nodded before snapping his head toward the guard at the door. "You heard her, didn't you? Go fetch her some ice cream."
The guard stuttered out a "Right away" before taking off to hunt down some ice cream for you, knowing you had a ton of it in the kitchen. You sighed dreamily before positioning yourself on the couch. Orochimaru smiled sweetly at you before moving toward you, "You are absolutely stunning, do you know that?"
Embarrassment flooded your body, and you averted your gaze from his loving one. "You do tell me that every day. But I don't feel it right now." Orochimaru couldn't help the pain coursing through him at your statement. How is it that you couldn't see just how gorgeous you looked growing his child?
Orochimaru’s fingers curled under your chin, causing you to sigh as he forced your gaze back to meet his. "What else must I do to make you see how I see you? Kiss you till you can't breathe?”
Your giggle nearly had him fumbling to the floor; how did you sound as sweet as you looked? You quickly pecked his lips gently. It sounded tempting to be kissed to death, but not while pregnant. “No, no, that won't be necessary…” Your voice trailed off as the door opening echoed through the lab. The guard was out of breath, clutching the ice cream for dear life as he raced towards you.
“Your chocolate ice cream, my lady.”
Lady? You shot a look to Orochimaru while bitting back a snort at the title. They called him Lord, but you were not the Lady. “Thank you,” you stated kindly as you took the carton and spoon from him. He nodded quickly before returning to his post by the door. Orochimaru sat beside you as you opened the container, your eyes growing wide as you took in the untouched tub of ice cream. Your clapping made the guard relax, thankful that he would live to see another day. Orochimaru was scary, but when it came to you, he was 10x scarier.
The Sannin threw an arm across the back of the couch as he leaned back into the cushions. You followed, sighing contently as he pulled you into his side. “Why do they call me Lady anyway” you teased quietly as you dug the silver spoon into the chocolate. Orochimaru didn't say anything, only looked at you with a look that said, ‘What else would they call you?’ You rolled your eyes but popped the ice cream into your mouth anyway, choosing to ignore the weird title and instead savor the ice cream.
Your hair began to fall into your face as you ate and talked about what you were going to do after this. You didn't notice until Orochimaru softly brushed a part of it behind your ear, causing you to pause in slight humiliation. He only nodded as he grabbed the spoon you were holding, “And what else did you want to do today, my love?” a smile rose to your lips at the question and him taking some of your dessert. You didn't know why, but sharing things with him always felt special.
Almost intimate.
“I wanted to rearrange the closet, considering this is the third new hideout of the month. Which reminds me, can we please stop moving so much? It's putting a lot of strain on the baby and me.”
He hummed in thought before diving back into the carton. A pout grew on your lips the longer he took to ‘think’ about his answer. Golden eyes flicked up to meet your e/c ones, and he smiled softly, “That can be arranged.”
You broke out into a smile as he brought the spoon of ice cream to your lips. “Really? You mean it?” you mumbled against the spoon before opening it to let it in. Orochimaru retracted the spoon before humming at your statement, “I’ll give you anything you want. If you want stability, then I shall give it to you.” You were suddenly thankful for the cold feeling in your mouth because your whole body started to feel like it was on fire. You didn't know if being pregnant was the only reason Orochimaru was so submissive, and you didn't know if his ‘dominance’ would return once the baby came.
But you weren't complaining and would continue to soak it all up in the meantime.
You let out a dreamy sigh before throwing your head back against his arm, eyes staring at the ceiling as you thought through what life would be like once Mitsuki was born. “What's on your mind?” Orochimaru stated as he pulled you deeper into his side, “Just us. Thinking about what our life will be like in a couple of months….”
Orochimaru pressed a kiss to your temple before resting his free hand on your stomach, “You’re going to be a wonderful mother” You averted your gaze at that statement as you tried to process the pure love dripping from his voice. For the most part, nothing else was on your mind other than the moments you’d share with Orochimaru and Mitsuki, but one question plagued your mind. And it was getting too hard to keep in.
“I know you love me, but will this change once he’s born?”
His eyebrows scrunched at your words, confusion filling his veins as he sat up lightly from his spot. You shyly looked up at him, hands wringing together as you bit down the anxiety building up. His face was unreadable, but you could tell in his eyes he was shocked and heartbroken by your assumption.
“Are you referring to how I treat you now?”
“Ya” If Orochimaru wasn’t listening intently to you, he would have missed how disappointment dripped from that word. He cooed out before cupping your cheek, “I apologize for who I was before your pregnancy, my love. I guess I’ve changed.”
It was your turn to be confused. Changed? You loved who he was before. It was just that he was much more gentler now with you. His thumb caressed your cheek, urging you to look at him again. “You changed, yes, but will you change back? I don't mind; I just want to be prepared for-”
Your words died out as he pressed his lips against yours. His hand drug up into your hair, lightly scratching your scalp as he deepened the kiss. Your fingers curled into the top of his shirt, clinging onto him for dear life as he stole breath after breath from your lungs. You finally pulled back, chest heaving as you tried to catch your breath from that kiss. That kiss was the kiss from the ‘old’ him. The him that was responsible for this predicament in the first place.
“I guess I should make something clear. The old me isn’t gone. I’ll still ravish you and kiss the ground you walk on. But my duty as your husband and his father will come before that. Your safety and happiness is my priority, but do not forget that I still love you as deeply as I did when I first saw you.”
The heat in your body rose to your neck and your cheeks. You let out a whine of bashfulness before shoving your face into his neck, hoping to hide how much his words affected you. But you knew it was useless; you two had been together for too long for him not to know what makes you tick.
“I love you,” he whispered as he pulled you deeper into him, savoring how you always clung to him like he was your security blanket. “I love you too,” your muffled reply followed closely behind his admittance, and you felt the way his chest shook in laughter. He, too, wondered what life would be like for you two when Mistuki came.
And he couldn't wait to experience it.

What do you think his manga would've been about if he won?
Honestly, it would have probably been about Gaara reflecting on how Naruto had saved him, which would have been a bit of a let down.
Now I'm not saying that I would turn down the content or underappreciate it if this were the case. I mean, we're all so starved of Gaara content that anything can sometimes be better than nothing; however, I just feel that Gaara reflecting on how Naruto saved him tends to be the main focus, or at least highly referenced, in many Gaara-centered content, post-Konoha Crush Arc.
It's like the low-hanging fruit of Gaara's character development at this point. And dare I say I commend the novel Gaara Hiden for more or less allowing it to be a very distant background theme of the - what I would call - a pretty lukewarm story in terms of quality. That novel pretty much came out as "meh" for me, but I appreciated that it gave Gaara the opportunity to shine by himself without pushing the credit onto Naruto.
I'm sorry, this is already going to be a tangent but here we go:
As you can probably tell, I love Gaara quite a lot. He is by far my favourite character not just in Naruto, but across all the series I have had the pleasure of being a fan of. Gaara is literally #1 in my books across the board, and so I say this with love in my heart when I say that Gaara constantly crediting Naruto for his change irritates the crap out of me.
Why?
Because we were never actually shown much of the grind behind Gaara's character development, we just got the outcome of that change. On the surface, this isn't bad because Gaara is a supporting character in the series about Sasuke Naruto, and he's done a lot of really amazing things that make his character mature like a fine wine, but there's a lot of unmined potential in him that goes completely untouched because "Naruto saved him."
Naruto saving Gaara was the catalyst to it all. What I wanted to see was the grind, the awkwardness. Give me moments where Gaara has to fight through his shyness, let me see how hard it is for him to reconnect with his siblings and his villages. Tell me how hard it was for him to get the Elders of the village to trust him then give me Gaara breaking their spines because they're trash Hell, please even just give me more evil Gaara content!
Give me a throw back to Karura being pregnant and being so excited about her new baby. Give me the sand siblings as children thinking about each other but being unsure how to act like family.
Tell me who Gaara is when he's not a ninja and he's not Kazekage. I want to see him farm his cacti, cooking dinner and living his life the way someone who's so used to isolation goes about living their life.
So. Many. Possibilities.
Have him go out for beers with Kankuro and Kankuro's friends to "get drunk" where Gaara pretends to be "really feeling it" when he actually doesn't because he's been nursing 1 (one) beer the whole night as he tries to fit in to social situations but can't because he doesn't know of to react.
Have Gaara wondering what it's like to have romantic feelings towards someone, and have him think about it without ultimately coming to the conclusion about if he wants that or not because he isn't even sure what it means.
Give me the reaction manga to him reading Icha Icha. I swear, I would pay good money for it, or even my lif-
I am telling you...So many possibilities. SO MANY!
All of the would've been so good, if only we could've been shown the corners of Gaara's life that don't make him a ninja or Kazekage, but just make him a regular ol' person trying his best to be the best he can.
