the kufiya i had ordered from hirbawi came in today (the jenin design and it is very pretty!!) and as i was telling my parents about what it is and what it means we talked about how and when "israel" started to take palestine for themselves so my dad scrambled to find an atlas old enough to have palestine on it instead of "israel", we had two where there was no mention of palestine like it had vanished over night, BUT lo and behold we have one from 1932 where it is still all palestine!

even with all the old names to the places too tho im unsure about the spelling since its a german atlas (like under jerusalem was el kuds written but i think thats the german variant of al quds)
