The livestream last night was fantastic for many reasons, but another great thing about the stream: it felt really nice to openly hear Sam and Taliesin describe FCG and Ashton as nonbinary. Like obviously we’ve had their he/they pronouns since day one, but it means so much to hear the two of them use the word Nonbinary, y’know?

I can't get over this convo.
Do we truly grasp the magnitude of Ashton asking Orym outright to keep being in his life after all this?
Like... Wow. Ashton. Ashton, the "i don't like people" Ashton. Asked Orym to stay with him.
I cannot.

It’s fascinating how much Ashton hates Percy so much calling him an entitled asshole and everything when the both of them are really similar and the both of them don’t know it
I only realized this during Ashton’s talk with FCG at Milo’s place when Ashton talks about how they don’t want to lose their friends and says “Family’s dangerous” after being ripped half way across the world from most of their friends without anyway to contact them
And Percy says something similar back in the infamous Bard’s Lament after Keyleth asks the group are they all still friends and Percy answers her “Worse, we’re family” right after one of their friends walks away from the group and seemingly having no plans to ever come back
They know that having friends and family can break you in ways that cannot ever be known unless you have lost them. When it comes down to it, both characters can’t stand their friends leaving them and that’s probably rooted in trauma at a young age of losing your family, Percy with the Briarwoods, and Ashton being dropped off on the outskirts of Jrusar and then again when the Nobodies left them behind
Both of these characters are so emotionally broken that they will hold onto their closest friends with tooth and nail against impossible odds because they know what it’s like to lose everything

The funny thing really about Kingsley thinking he can do Fjord's job as captain better than Fjord can is that Kingsley only knows how to be a captain because he's learning from Fjord.
So, anything Kingsley can do, well, Fjord taught him to do. Also, yanno, way harder to be good at your job when the person who wants your job is actively sabotaging everything you do.
Generally, it's pretty clear that Fjord isn't actually at all incompetent. He's a good captain who is stressed out of his mind, as Laura says such directly, and he's being purposefully tripped up and undermined at all turns by Kingsley, which Taliesin openly admits. Fjord DOES know what he's doing, it's just conditions (stress, Kingsley) are making it impossible to do it and do it well—and that's very different from "is incapable and incompetent / doesn't know how to do his job / is completely clueless".

nauuuur 😢 i remembered about the scene when tmn are going to talk to king dwendal and king dwendal calls caduceus stupid basically, and then i went and rewatched it (at 2:52:00, ep 87) and its just :-( oh it makes me saaaad.. like its worse because cad’s actually struggling to explain his thoughts and stops like two times to try speak louder and clearer than he usually does and is clearly uncomfortable with it . and then the king calls him uneducated in a roundabout way and cad just replied Thank you , because he didnt understand T_T idk man . .the autism relating and also hyperempathy kicked in about it. it makes me want 2 cry a little bit

Hey Tally, I was thinking... we never tested that summoning spell to make sure it works, do you want to quickly try it now?
Ah good I was hoping you would ask! I made some changes from my mothers original spell, I hope I got all the calculations correct
Let me just strrretch... right I'm ready. Go.
*laughs* Riiight weirdo, this isn't a that big of a deal but ok
Behind you. I find the best summons are done from behind, don't you agree?
I can make adjustments to the proximity if it makes you uncomfortable...
Uh no, No need. I don't mind, I mean you don't have to go through the trouble.. its fine
Calliope, do you have a minute?
Sorry Luci my hands are umm... full right now

well. i finally did it. i finally watched the cr2 denouements/finale that i'd been putting off for more than a year, more than two years, technically. i have problems with endings. with uncertainty. with grief and letting things go, and experiencing things 'at the right time'. i'm not sure if this was the right time, but it feels right, it doesn't feel devastating. to end this story that i started watching during one of the worst points in my life. i'm. i'm. of course i miss it. part of me always will! and still. it was a good story. nothing will ever fill the same niche. that's ok.

"I didn't realize you were still here"
"Why wouldn't I be? You're injured, we're traveling together, it's practical to keep each other healthy"
"We're on opposing ends of this war, don't forget that"
"I should tell you the same thing. You didn't let the others kick me out of that house"
"We usually disagree, I know what it's like to be on the receiving end of that argument"
"Care to explain?"
"No, after you're done here you have to let me make sure you're fine"
@dynamite124 I can't wait for this guy (this mightve turned softer than intended oop)
