Waking up again you were once again heavily confused shivering as you took a breath inhaling that familiar chemical scent.

Chemicals.

Chemicals?

It wasn't as strong as you remembered it the more you woke and regained feeling in your body you saw a fucking pool.

You were just nearby laying on a plastic hangover on the edge of it your tail hanging off the edge into the water.

Oh god.

Oh no.

Fuck

You pushed yourself up and pushed yourself into the pool before resurfacing your breathing picking up as you looked around the all to familar blank walls the one way glass mirror that didn't hide the feeling of eyes on you.

What?

Gaz winced as he watched the Mer panic, It was common for mer's who came from the ocean were usually not at all receptive to human intervention and or help.

The natural built in generational fear of humans made sense due the unsavory practices of the past due to myths stirred up way back then that there flesh brought youth back into you, that there fins were important ingredients for medicinal cures or just for high life luxury, and that they were just used as luxury pets.

He tried to not let his mind wonder any father as he glanced down to his notes biting his lip as he sighed just jotting down the usual panicked behavior internally hoping they'd still be tired from the sedative which they very much were as there panicked had died down to swimming around the barren pool.

Gaz huffed as he left the observation room and onto the observation deck a decent height above the pool his presence didn't go unnoticed as the mer's eye flicked over to him a deathly glare being sent at him.

Avoiding a splash sent up at him Gaz was unphased mostly jotting down notes now as the Mer calmed eventually now just watching him which he didn't at all mind gave him a better view of all of there body and tail jotting down specific markers and scars along the skin.

Looking back at his other Orca mer notes they had no features genetically similar to any of the other Orca's they've rehabbed at least in this area of the country and since they found them all alone he was to assume they either left there close familial group or was very much lost which was likely due to there injuries.

There's just no way there pod would have left them in such a state but at the same time after reviewing there injuries Gaz was unsure to say the least.

There injuries were way to aggressive to be a simple fight or struggle between prey and predator, Not specific enough for them to be from blades of a boat motor, And were also not specific enough for them to be a survivor of a failed poaching attempt.

Gaz sighed as he shifted on his feet glancing up from his notes and to the Mer which still stared at him.

"God's what happen to you.." He mumbled as he leaned against the railing the Mer had retreated back underwater seemingly bored with him now.

This was weird—

No this was wrong.

This human had been just watching you?

And doing whatever it was doing.

Should you stare back?

Maybe you'll freak it out.

You did not in fact freak it out and it was still doing something with that board.

This place didn't seem all too bad.

You couldn't smell the remnants of blood from past creatures like you could back there they never cleaned your holding pool enough to make that scent fade away sometimes it was strong enough that you could have sworn the corpses were just floating right next to you.

There has been cases when they tried to even partner you up with a another Mer for a chance at calming you.

You only had one incident for them to know you should be left isolated.

You didn't want to be alone.

But a noise brought you out of your mind.

"Hey? I uh..brought you food."

It was that human again from the dock now that you got a better look at him.

Weirdo.

You surfaced as you looked over at him.

He was in grabbing range.

But you rather not get punished.

Does this place do punishments?

It's not the old place.

Hm.

You eventually decided not to drown him and instead waiting as he got closer cautious with a bucket of Fish that didn't smell like it was decaying for one still fresh possibly been frozen as he pushed over the bucket allowing you to get closer to the edge of the pool as he backed up out of reach.

To say you were hungry was a understatement as you ate till you were full enough pushing the bucket back towards him squinting at him as he chuckled.

"You must of been starving huh?..I know this must be confusing but were all here to help."

Lies.

"I'll be back to feed you later in a couple of hours.."

Don't come back.

"..Alright see you later Scarface."

What?

That name confused you greatly but you chose to ignore it you've been called worse.

Oh god what if they start calling you that?

"[Name]"

The human stopped dead in his tracks as he looked back at you.

"[Name]?"

You nodded as he hummed.

"Mines Gaz or..Well Kyle."

"Stupid names."

He was bewildered for a moment before chuckling once more.

"Alright Scarface"

"Kyle"

"-How come you never SAW a freaking library?

-Small village. Twelve books in the whole town. Weren't you paying any attention?

-Well, yeah, but have you never visited an actual town? They all got libraries.

-I went to Paris when I was a little girl, but…

-You're still a little girl.

-Haha, very funny. I'm just short, I'm not…! OH MY GOD!!

They arrived at the library and, as soon as Papyrus pushed the big doors, Chara squeaked, absolutely thunderstruck. Books. Hundreds of books. Thousands of books. Dozens of thousands of books proudly stared back at her from their shelves. The human walked inside the room with her hands covering her shocked mouth. She was beyond amazed. The king watched intently as Chara placed her hands over the nearest books, touching them with reverence. Then, in a quick motion, she grabbed a bunch of those books and sat on the ground, firmly hugging them.

-I'm dreaming - she murmured, extasiated, her face buried against the books - I know I'm dreaming, please don't wake me up just yet, I'm in my personal paradise.

Huh. That girl… actually looked kinda cute.

Papyrus coughed, shoving that thought aside for later. Hell, if he was supposed to fall in love with Chara to break the curse, it was a good thing she was cute. She didn't seem very bright on that book-searching-trip story.

-So, uh… - he started, rubbing his skull - We couldn’t get new books ever since the curse started (for obvious reasons), but you said it was an old book, right? So there is a chance we can find the next one here. Uh, someday - he added after glancing at the castle's vast collection and frowning - This is not the most organized library unfortunately. As I told ya, the kid's nursery is also located on this wing, so it's not rare that they come in here and mess things up, those little brats.

Chara beamed at his words.

-Oh my, you're right!! The sequel could be right here!! - she got up from the floor and placed the books she was holding back into the shelf, quickly checking each one's cover before doing so - I mean, if I'm trapped here forever I might as well look for it. I wonder if the sequel's cover is the same color of the first book…

-That's not a rule, it could be different - Papyrus said, also approaching the shelf - I guess I can help you search for a bit. What's the name of the book you read, by the way?

-"It ends now".

-And the sequel?

-"It starts now".

-Wha…? - the monster paused in the middle of picking up a book, turning at the girl - It ends… Then it starts? That doesn't make any f*cking sense!

Chara was smiling and cocking her head when he questioned her.

-Well, you have to read it to understand - she declared, shrugging.

-Nah, I'm not into girly books.

-Wha… It 's not girly!! What, just because I'm a girl all books I like will be girly? That's absurd!!

She placed her hands on her hips, visibly outraged. That made Papyrus snort.

Ok, she was cute.

-Right, gimme the book - he reached one hand in her direction, grinning - I'll be the judge of that.

Chara took the old volume out of her pocket but hesitated while looking at the king, finally speaking in all the seriousness she could muster.

-If you damage this book in any way…

-What? - the skeleton laughed, amused - Is that a threat? What could you do to me, little girl?

Heck, their size difference was huge. Only in height they had, what, a 50 cm gap? Maybe more? Has she failed to notice it at all?

Oh, she noticed. Right at that moment, at least, she noticed. They were standing very close and Chara had to lift her chin to face the king, who was indeed tall. That realization set all sorts of alarms on the girl's head. They were alone. If he ever tries to hurt her, there is nothing she can do to stop him. Crap, Chara got so excited about the prospect of seeing a real library she lost sense of danger. Being alone with that skeleton she barely knows could be dangerous.

Actually, even if the bitties were around… Papyrus was their king. If he ever decides to beat her up - or worse - would they even try to stop him?

Chara hoped she never had to find that out.

Unaware of the girl's disturbed thoughts, the king took the book from her hands, examining its cover.

-Right, I'll be careful. But that's quite damaged already, did you forget it on the stove or something?

He pointed at an ugly mark on the back cover. It definitely looked burned.

The human took a deep breath, controlling her wild emotions. Papyrus wasn't acting in a threatening way right then, so there was no reason to panic. She just needed to keep her guard up, that's all.

-It was already like this when I bought it, ok? - Chara explained, cautiously taking a step back.

The king didn't seem to notice, frowning as his sockets examined the old book once again.

-I hope it was cheap.

-It definitely wasn't - the girl murmured, embarrassed, then her face suddenly lit up with a smirk - But hey, at least I didn't have to kidnap an old man to get this book, your majesty.

-Well, f… - Papyrus had to forcefully stop himself on that word. He would not get any points with Chara unless he starts controlling his tongue - …Forget about that. I’ll search on the top shelves, ok?

-Ok, thanks - she gave the monster the tiniest smile before turning back to the shelf, ready to begin her long, long search.”

"It ends now" and "It starts now" are NOT real books, but they're inspired by the things I felt while reading "It ends with us". That book starts as a dumb romance, but THEN it took a shift that just hit me like a fucking truck. It was unexpected as fuck and I was mesmerized by it. I guess I like unexpected stuff.

(It's NOT for everyone though, there's some heavy sh*t in that book!! One friend was reading with me and literally gave up reading when the shift happened)

But again: that's NOT the book Chara read. "It ends now" is different. It's way better, by the looks of it. I kinda wanna read it too now…

ah yes the fair there's so much to do and so little time

*The group head off to more fun rides and games*

*Undyne smashes the game with the hammer making the bell go flying. Frisk and Chara laughing while Data and Sans apologize for the damage to the monster who owned it*

*all five of them drinking their fave drinks with popcorn. Frisk with grape soda, Chara with chocolate milk bubble tea, Data with orange soda, undyne with ramune soda, and sans with his typical ketchup*

*While Frisk and Chara have a sweet little moment in the teacup ride. Undyne was torturing sans and Data by spinning the table*

*Frisk played a ball throw game to knock pins down but despite their best efforts for some reason the pins never went down…. Course the other four could tell the game was rigged by the monster and human who ran the stand. So all four of them used their abilities to knock the pins down. Data with the biggest pitcher throw that was able to knock the pins down with somehow abnormal strength. Chara using static arm to throw hard. Undyne using spear magic to shoot straight through the pins with her ball. And sans using some blue magic to throw the ball and knock every pin down at once. The stand owners were jaw dropped terrified by these four power houses. Who gave these swindlers a dirty threatening look. The owners gave all five of them prizes they wanted. Frisk was the most happy for getting a blue snake doll. The stand owners decided to close down out of regret fear and shame*

*The group got on a roller coaster and had the most fun on it. Surprisingly Data had a strong stomach for it. Sans however was on his knees trembling like a baby lamb trying not to puke. Undyne patting his back gently to make sure he is alright.*

*Frisk eagerly wanted to ride on one horse with Chara on. Saying they wanted to pretend it was like from their favorite romance story. Which Chara hesitatingly allowed. Chara and Frisk on one horse being all happy and lovey dovey. The moment Chara noticed Undyne, Sans, and Even Data taking pictures she freaked out with her face red as a tomato*

*Frisk and Chara were nervous on this ride since they both had issues with heights…. Considering their past…. They sat next to eachother and held hands. They yelled a lot when it started but began to laugh due to the thrill. After it was over they were a bit shaken but we’re happy and felt closer then over. Data was smiling. While Undyne was rubbing sans’s back as he was close to puking in the corner. Seems everyone has having fun…. Frisk however…. Seemed to look at the time more and more…. And at Data*

and like for what reasons did you make the changes that you did to the stories? (applies to both mys/mcd and all other rewrites of yours)

of course i can!! i wrote so many they’re going under a read more, like all of my stuff ^^;;

but to answer your second question, love~love came out during my summer break so it’s stuck with me lol. i love it too much even though, like all seasons, its pretty sucky... i remembered more of season 2 of mcd, i had come in like the middle of s1? and i barely remember s3 haha! so i don’t really have a favorite, it’s more scenes that i like :)

i made changes for fun mostly, some made more sense and some characters had potential and i wanted to explore it on my own? idk, i had problems and went “i can do better than this >:” after seeing a bunch of problems and started writing lol

jenny, she/her

so jenny used to be a scene girl. her bangs. it makes sense

her bangs still hold the shape, she’s still trying to get them back to what they were in college

jenny has her ears pierced

later in life she gets her tongue pierced as well

she also gets a spray tan every now and then

forgot to say! i used to think she got a spray tan! ^^;;

jenny is pretty tall

she likes guys with long hair and girls with short hair

sometimes, when first introducing people and she’s by cathy/betty she goes by jen

HQ boys standing in front of you when you fix your top/cover period stains

feat: asahi a, bokuto k, tsukishima k, kyotani k & yaku m.

genres: pure fluff and crack lmao

warnings: red stain because of period (fem reader)

a/n: it’s actually my first time writing for some of these charas and so I’m worried kyotani bestie might b a bit out of character but it was v fun writing for these babies <3 feedback is appreciated !

part two

ASAHI:

it’s after he notices the uncomfortable look on your face and your struggling that leads him to casually step in front of you while replying to daichi

or so he thought, what everyone else saw was him inching toward you while carrying conversation with the captain.

You expected him to pass by but when he remained you realized what he was doing and began to properly fix the straps

He’s so patient and he lets you take your time and you don’t have to worry about anyone seeing since his back is straightened to his full height, an intimidating sight on the court…that and both him and daichi have their eyes on the confused second years in case things go wrong 🤧

he really doesn’t expect anything in return and so when you thank him he’s pretty chill about it.

after that time, every now and then you would go to him when your outfit decides vengeance and he’d be so touched and happy that you trust him and would be extra determined to make sure that your entirely invisible behind him

(he takes his job seriously I take no objections), especially when clueless first years or teasing third years approach to ruffle the ace.

BOKUTO:

Our pure responsible baby was going about his day chatting cheerfully with akaashi when noticing the bright red stain on the back of your pants hurried over to you

although you had a few classes together and he saw you around a lot but wasn’t very close with you, he still didn't think twice before heading to you and saying hi

“so, uh, not to freak you out or anything but I think that you're having a leak? Or leaking? anywho, I don’t remember what it’s called but” he slips off the sweater he wore over this blazer and you let him wrap it around you

he’s so kind and would probably help u out before you even asked and offered to walk you to your class, entirely forgetting his conversation with Akaashi who was first confused then unfazed with his friend’s abrupt behaviour

he would also say hi to you more in the halls after that and he’s so nice and friendly about it that you don’t even feel embarrassed especially when Konoha asks how he knows you and he exchanges glances with you, smiling as he goes “that’s our little secret.”

TSUKISHIMA:

you were having trouble adjusting your top in public and since you guys were outside with the gang for a field day over the break, there weren’t any washrooms in sight

and so when the neckline sags low again before you could ask shimizu for help and turn away from the group, you were confused when tsukishima stepped in front of you squaring his shoulders

He tried to maintain his standard neutral expression as some of the members noticed what he did and you gratefully fixed your top securing the straps and neckline as he waited

you were surprised that he didn’t tut or abruptly ask if you were done like, acting like he didn’t want to help u lolll the tips of his ears turning red was the most obvious crack in his composure

he shot a glare at hinata and kageyama who were smug at the sight of tsuki out of his comfort zone and helping people his frown deepens when he notices sugawara holding in his laughter too

when you finished, you couldn’t help but tease him “what a gentleman”

He rolled his eyes stepping away from you, “shut up” but hid his blush both tired of your top slipping and tired that he kept noticing it slipping 😳🤧😂

bonus: yamaguchi noticed what his friend did and stood with his back facing you to cover the other side even tho no one is there but he wanted to help out too

cue the competitive first year squad and second year squad performing a protection squad around you telling you to take your time even after you’ve finished 😭😂✨

KYOTANI:

you aren’t exactly close with kyotani but have had decent interactions during class and by the gym and kyotani bestie kind of sucks at communication so if anything he probably saw you talking to your friends when he noticed the bright red stain on your skirt

which led to him mentally was formulating a plan on how to tell you without embarrassing you.

or that was the plan, until you suddenly started walking and so he followed you, giving you enough space while standing behind you so that people behind you wouldn’t be able to see.

our boy is glaring at everyone that looks from almost all directions like students? Harsh glare Teachers? Narrows his eyes at them

Iwa-chan and oikawa walking past you guys? Sending a quick nod to Iwaizumi before resuming his bad boy rep. & intense glaring

when you notice everyone’s weird looks, you turn and see him freeze several paces behind you and when ask why he’s doing that he gets all sort of nervous and mumbles “you had a period stain and I didn’t want you to be embarrassed”

what a whole king, you ended up laughing because knowing how much attention his bright blonde hair, tall frame and sharp glare caught, and his glare before he noticed you turn around, that he really did his best to make sure you were comfortable

he wordlessly offered you his sweater and you thanked him for it :)

bonus: he starts blushing after you wash it and return it to him because now it smells like you but is now aware that if he wears it to the gym he will not be able to live it down (becomes an at home sweater)

and so he when it’s time to wash it, the soft prickly boiyo becomes all pouty until you he notices you the next day having wished you brought your own hoodie during this cold weather and sees him holding out another extra sweater that he just happened to have in his backpack, totally not preplanned or anything

(essentially him trying to court you with sweaters and it’s working) :)

YAKU:

The last person you expected to find with his hands on his hips and chest puffed to hide you adjusting your top was yaku

Especially considering you were taller than him/not that much shorter than him in the first place.

To yaku, it was the effort that counted and in the short moment of fixing your top he became a top tier bodyguard aiming a kick to the unsuspecting lev who came over to ask if you guys wanted snacks.

“Yaku, you’re literally shorter than me.”

“Short, I suppose. But hot, manly and reliable? That I am.”

You didn’t have to look at him to know he was smiling until you agreed and he started blushing, trying to act unruffled by the compliment.

I feel like he’s the type to help everyone but helping you makes him go :DD >:))✨

He tells you that if you’re having trouble with your top that you can wear his track suit sweater and his heart goes 📈 when he notices you wearing it later looking more comfortable and cheerful than before 🥺

he glares when lev is like how come y/n can call you short and he’s like cuz you’re short too (rip)

Did it strike anyone else as kind of odd that in the spelling bee moment the word that set off the trauma of Noelle losing her sister was so... Simple?

You kinda have to wonder how long ago it happened (and by extension how long she's gone without closure). Guessing from her silhouetted baby sprite being the same height as Frisk and Chara's as well as the spelling bee word difficulty she couldn't have been older than 7 when December went missing. And now she's at the absolute oldest 16, but more likely 14.

No wonder Queen called Noelle 'strong' and kept overbearingly trying to boost her confidence. The girl is shy, hesitant, just about everything freaks her out to the point that she makes distinctions between 'bad' scary (horrifying) and 'good' scary (intimidating, but attractive in some way), but something genuinely fucked up happened to her and she's implied to have been looking up things related to it for a very long time, possibly years, trying to cope. With Rudy being in the hospital, she's probably been looking up stuff related to that too lately.

Here's the notes for everything that would happen up until the end of the story.... as far as I had it figured out. You'll notice things are a lot less fleshed out the later things go. That's a big reason why this never got finished. the longer I tried to keep the thing running, the more I realized I never had any idea what I wanted to actually DO with this story which made it pretty hard for me to keep up. it's hard to write a story you're trying to take seriously if all you really have are jokes, it turns out.

I haven't reread any of this or edited it at all so who knows what kind of notes I might have written in between things haha

P: so as i was saying about undyne-

C: who’s undyne?

Everyone freezes. Chara just walked right up to papyrus without being noticed. Paps freaks out for a sec before he pulls sans into a huddle. Chara frowns and tries to peek around.

Chara’s doing puzzles and sees flowey spying. They shout him over

C: HEY! still following me, loser? Don’t you have anything better to do? (but they smile)

F: somebody’s gotta make sure you don’t get killed too much out here

Flowey pops up closer to them

C: nah, I’m fine! I’ve got that reset power!

F: not for long considering how much you use it (mumbles. Rolls eyes??) (some depiction of chara dying a lot in the bg)

C: by the way…. In the ruins you were telling me to use it… care to tell me more about it since you seem to know so much?

F: I-... uh… well you already know the most of it. It just resets you back to your last SAVE point like nothing happened. Only beings with a powerful SOUL can use it, so monsters with their weak souls can’t.

Chara stops their puzzle work and sits to even the heights: Can flowers?

F: what the heck are you-... oh, no no no. I’m different.

C: so you have the power too.

F: No! I mean-, i used to before you came around. Yeah.

C: so you’ve done resets. (urging him on)

F: yep.

Chara waits a while: ...thats all you have to say?

F: yep

Travel scenes from here on out depict chara and flowey together

Gauntlet:

Flowey remarks that he doesn't remember a save point being before it. Chara goes along and gets paps’ bit. He does to activate it

C: wait this isn't for real right? U can't be srs!!!

P: yeah I am, this is hard mode!

Just show chara repeatedly spawning at the save and running back in with flowey watching them

Then cut to the end chara on the other side of it panting and exhausted, papyrus shocked but also beaming

P: wow you did it!! I'm so proud of u human! I didn’t think you would actually be able to get through it--- I mean- drat! Foiled again! I'll get u one of these times!

Papyrus runs off and Chara watches him with a look of wonder in their eyes.

F: don’t get too excited. his pride is cheap, he’s proud of everyone and every thing

Chara grumbles and marches forward: whatever. I don’t hear you saying you’re proud of me, so why do I have to listen to what you have to say

F: You know, you’re gonna have to fight him soon. Didn’t sans say so? What are you going to do then, die over and over until you give up or are you going to try to murder him just like you did with Toriel? :)

C: I am not! I’m gonna talk him out of it and go right past him like everyone else. Who knows! Maybe he won’t even fight me because he’s that cool. Even if he does, he’s probably a wimp anyways.

F: I wouldn’t be so sure! I bet you don’t stand a chance.

C: shut up! Quit following me if you’re gonna be this useless.

Paps fight

As papyrus carries their body to the shed to rest. Opens on their vision returning and they see their hands hanging toward the ground.

C: why didn’t you kill me? You’re stronger than everyone else, you could easily do it. Why dont you finish me off so everyone can leave or whatever it is you need me to do? Why did you hold back?

P: OH! YOU’RE AWAKE!

C: you held back…

P: OF COURSE i DID! I COULD NEVER KILL YOU, YOU’RE MY-- I HOPE I’M NOT BEING TOO FORWARD, BUT I LIKE TO THINK OF YOU AS MY FRIEND! AND EVEN THOUGH WE DO NEED YOUR SOUL, YOU DESERVE A FIGHTING CHANCE TO DO… WHATEVER IT IS YOU’RE TRYING TO DO.

Chara is too shocked and confused by the sentiment: I don’t… I don’t understand?

P: WHAT’S SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT A FRIEND NOT KILLING YOU? HUMANS ARE SO STRANGE ...OH! I SEE NOW! THE REASON WHY YOU CARRY YOUR KNIFE LIKE THAT. IT’S BECAUSE YOU’RE MORE AFRAID OF US MONSTERS THAN WE COULD EVER BE OF YOU!

He sets them down in the shed on the dog bed.

P: I’M SORRY, HUMAN! I WOULD HAVE GIVEN YOU MORE WARNING IF I HAD KNOWN HOW YOU FELT.

C: then… does that mean you’re going to let me go?

P: ABSOLUTELY NOT! I ALREADY CALLED UNDYNE TO MEET ME SO SHE CAN TAKE YOU! AND YOU NEED TO REST NOW AFTER ALL THAT!

C: !! I-I don’t know who Undyne is, but I can’t do that. I’m in a hurry to get out of here.

P: HMM… IF YOU’RE IN A HURRY THEN… NO, NO YOU CAN’T! WE NEED YOUR SOUL, I CAN’T JUST LET YOU LEAVE. UNDYNE’S REALLY COOL TOO, YOU’LL LIKE HER!

C: No, I have to go.

P: AGH, WELL… I SUPPOSE IF YOU CAN GET PAST ME BEFORE I CAN CATCH YOU, THERE’S NOTHING I CAN DO. BUT I WON’T GO EASY ON YOU!

Cut to chara walking toward waterfall, papyrus calling after them to come back and hang out sometime. They keep walking and mutter to themself: Sorry, but I’ll get out of here before that ever happens.

WATERFALL

They see monster kid and side eye sans as they charge in, hurriedly.

Chara keeps flowey around and asks him to read the words for him. FLowey says it’s not important at all to anything they’re doing. It’s just monster history junk that means nothing if chara’s trying to leave. Chara’s like shut up cmon help me out maybe there's clues. FLowey reads some history stuff in waterfall treating it like shit they already know

F: why do you care about all this garbage anyway?

C: I dunno, I guess it just sounds familiar. Like a story I heard a long time ago.

Chara stops suddenly and checks their phone. Flowey asks what’s up

C: i thought it rang… you didn’t hear-

The phone starts ringing. Papyrus is cheerfully on the other end and they walk and talk.

He tells them about how he heard so many horrible things about humans and the surface but chara was much nicer than he ever expected. Chara asks where he heard that and he says a flower told him. Chara covers the receiver and looks around for flowey, suspicions of him raised.

Montage w monster kid and umbrella

Chara falls from undyne’s spear attack and wakes up in the trash with flowey over them.

F: hey, wake up. I can tell you’re not dead so hurry up and get moving.

Chara’s kind of bummed: she killed me four times back there. And it wasn’t even a fight. I couldn’t talk her down or… i couldn’t even talk to her, I could barely see her.

F: what, are you giving up or something? You know she can kill you as much as she wants and you aren’t gonna die.

C: I know that! I know this is just like a game where you can keep on going but… it hurts. And it’s exhausting.

F: what will you do then? Sit here in this trash and do nothing?

C: *sigh* no. I’m just feeling down in the dumps.

They smile and get up.

As they’re walking out, they hear a click and someone to tell them to “hold it”

Mad dummys behind them and she just has a gun. Pointed directly at chara. She starts on her thing about the cousin and then blook saves the day.

Chara meets up with blook again. They go to where the snail races used to be. It’s all busted and unused

C: what’s this supposed to be…?

B: oh…. this used to be a snail farm…. And this was a race course…. For snails…. But a long time ago people started to call the races “insensitive” so we had to close them…. Sorry you can’t have any fun racing snails…

C: why was it insensitive…?

B: ...i’d… rather not talk about it………..

Timeskip

C: hey flowey! What’s up with this place and snails?

F:...i wouldnt know.

montage

After waterfall where undyne says how many souls they have

C: flowey… if they have 6 human souls, that means 6 others fell down and died here, so…

F: what?

C: i just- i mean you were the first one i met-

F: no, no, no, ive never killed anyone. You’re the only human i’ve seen since i woke up

Chara relaxes: ok. So you dont know anything about them.

F: no. i heard some things from toriel, not much. It’s too late to try asking her, but she’s seen all of them. She was there at the beginning even.

C: the beginning?

F: you know…. When humans started falling down here and monsters started killing them.

Chara goes silent in thought: wait… how… long has this been going on? How old is toriel?

F: dunno

Chara after having a rough time: it’s hard, but no matter what happens i can just keep trying. I’ll make it out of this! You believe in me right, flowey?

F: no i think you should give up.

Page/chapter ends there. Next is chara going up to fight undyne.

Open on a riff on the “long ago” cutscene that chara cuts off by saying they already know this story

Undyne screams SHUT UP!!! I’m doing my HEROIC MONOLOGUE!! Whatever, I bet you haven’t heard the part about the King and Queen’s human child who died of illness and their other son who was killed by the humans when he tried to return their body to the surface?!

C: No I think I heard that one too? Why are you telling me all this anyways??

U: because this is an UNSKIPPABLE CUTSCENE!! NYAAAGGGHHHH!!!!!

Chara’s getting their ass beat and on low hp: I’ll die in a hit or two. But that’s fine because I’ll just start this over. I’ll start from… where was the last save point…

A vision of them with flowey. Their eyes go red and the flashback cuts in between shots of them running from undyne

F: I think you should give up

Ch: what… give up?? I thought you were on my side with all the telling me to keep going and-and the hanging out with me?!

F: as if you had any other choice but to keep going! We both know you don’t.

C: so you’ve just been following this whole time waiting for me to give up and die, huh?! Why, are you trying to steal my soul just like everybody else?!?

F: it doesn’t matter how hard you try, you’re going to die! And die and die and die! You can reset as much as you want, it won’t change that! So what if I am waiting for you to give up? You’re the last thing keeping monsters trapped down here. If you give up, you’ll give everyone what they want!

C: I thought you wanted to help me?! I thought you were my friend!

F: I would never be friends with a human! You’re all nothing but killing machines!

C: I haven’t killed anyone!

F: You killed Toriel! No number of resets can change what you did! You’re a horrible, disgusting human just like all the others and everyone would be happier if you were dead!

Flowey could say something about dying down here is better than their inevitable death on the surface. Their death would at least be worth something. Mean something

Chara escapes the fight, undyne collapses, and they walk away. they tell themselves they won’t give up. They don’t need help, especially not from that dumb flower. They’ll live to spite him and everyone else who tries to kill them

Chara goes in and meets alphys and overall is p meh abt it bc bad mood. Alphys helping them through the underground makes them talk to themselves about how they dont need flowey, they can do this themself. Friends are no good.

hotland is as normal. probably figure out some indication of things not right. make the game seem broken bc they arent supposed to get so far like this

Chara meets with sans at mtt resort for food reluctantly. Lets him say his piece. After he’s done threatening to kill them chara says to his face that they really don’t like him.

Need some hubbub about them having to kill asgore to get out. Theyll be like yeah I know that (somehow)... oh but I need a plan… how will i come up with a plan..

Flowey finally appears to chara again just before they get to new home and tries to talk them out of leaving. Disparaging the surface and telling them they could live happily down here. Chara says no, it’s too hard because people are constantly hunting them down and being the last soul, no ones going to stop that. He says that he’s sorry for the way he was before

Chara smiles back, and then looks away: What you said before… about.. My inevitable death on the surface…

F: that was… don’t worry about that.

C: are you afraid of it?

F: well- yeah, it’s a dangerous place. Everyone knows that.

C: I’ve died a lot more times down here than I ever did up there.

A beat

C: you go back and forth a lot between talking about how I should stay down here because it’s better… but also if I die down here… everyone gets to go free… to the horrible, awful surface.

F: uh,, did I say all that…? I may have contradicted myself a little… I guess… in the end I just wanted an excuse for you to stay around. I really don’t want you to die.

C: so you did see me as a friend after all?

F: well…you reminded me of someone who was my friend. I wish we could have been friends.

C: Do you think… If I reset back to the beginning and did this again, if I said the right things… we could have been?

F: No… You could be as nice to me or as mean to me as you want. No matter how many times you reset, some things never change.

C: ...Did you ever… have to reset because you killed someone?

F: ……….once… and then I never reset ever again. The power to reset… makes you do bad things. It’s wrong. I had to stop because i knew… I’d make someone really upset if I kept messing around.

C: well, in that case… I guess I’ll just have to get the rest of the way out of here without any resets!

Flowey smiles: I dunno, keep one or two under your belt. You’re a pretty big klutz.

C: Thanks for helping me out of here, flowey. Even if you just did it because you were begged.

Can you imagine a more paranoid flowey who is less interested in attacking you and regaining the reset ability, but is pleased af that you have the reset ability because that means you can't die, and instead he spends the entire game trying to convince you that humanity is hopeless. That there is nothing on the surface world returning to. That it's safer, down here.

he's part of the reason why things are so much harder

there's a definite sense of paranoia all across the board

When they approach new home, flowey appears one last time and grabs chara by the hand, telling them not to go. They can live in the underground, they’ve made a lot of friends here. Chara says that they have to go, they’ll find a way to get out without killing asgore. Flowey says that he tried to stop them, this is as far as he’ll go. This is goodbye. They bid their farewells and chara goes along, but flowey secretly follows them, much less detectable than ever before. It’s revealed when he’s hiding with the flowers.

Chara walks up to new home, regarding it as a vaguely familiar sight. They walk down the many halls knowing exactly where to go. The monsters speak as they go through the motions. They find a cookbook in the kitchen with a page for snail pie missing. Chara mumbles about already knowing the story and that they should all shut up. They walk more quickly to stay ahead of them. Then one mentions the snail pie and chara stops dead in their tracks. No that’s not how it happened- they stop, and take back off.

They are stopped by sans in the judgement hall, glaring at him.

S: well I had a whole speech to give ya, but you look like you’re in a hurry. You’re a weird kid, but you’re fine. The king’s up ahead.

OTHER alternative: chara realizes something’s wrong and runs back to get everyone, probably threatening to kill asgore to convince them to come quickly. Sans is avoided due to the mob approaching behind them “I heard the word that you’re on your way to kill the king.” c: are you here to stop me? “Nah. But you’d better have a good plan to back yourself up, kid. King’s up ahead”

They run up to asgore, no nonsense. Some time is taken to progress things. As they leave the throne room, flowey watches from the flowers, chara looks back to confirm he’s there.

Asgore draws up the souls, the fight is about to engage, before he can smash “MERCY” chara yells: ASRIEL. Get the souls.

Everything stops. Flowey is behind them, stunned and confused. Chara turns and asks him what he’s waiting for. Hurry up and take the souls before everyone else gets here. Nearly every last monster is coming, if he can become godlike and absorb them, it will be enough strength to break the barrier.

Flowey is confused, how do they know that? Chara tells him he did it before. Doesn’t he remember? Doesn’t he remember them?

Either flowey does it and something happens, or flowey waits too long and chaos erupts which gets them killed, and then chara and flowey have to meet up and workshop.

Final fight:

He probably says some shit about frisk and how he cant lose frisk again, chara must insist that theyre not frisk. When they say their name is chara, he hesitates for only a moment. Finally, when chara’s pinned and about to seriously die…

C: you remember it now too, don’t you? It took me a while, I couldn’t remember a thing until i started hearing your name around. You’re an all powerful god now, you should be able to remember it all better than me

A: shut up.

C: would frisk want us to fight like this?! Would frisk want you to kill your own sibling?!

A: c-.... You’re… you’re really chara?

He lets them go

They reach the conclusion that frisk messed with everything and put them here with no memories so they could do something frisk could never do. Frisk thinks they deserve to live, no matter how much the two may disagree. They have to play along. Asriel is a god and can use his powers to break the barrier and bring EVERYONE back to life so they can live together happily.

go to final fight and everyones already there, things are very confused, flowey takes the souls and things glitch out (screen phases between bosses) and chara realizes this isnt how things are supposed to be, tells asriel theyre sorry for their baggage but he doesnt understand bc he isnt theirs, and then they gotta find frisk somehow

OR... they realize things in the speech and don't go to fight asgore bc theyre finding flowey... they feign fighting asgore and then suddenly tell flowey to take the souls("Asriel! get the souls!" and thats the first time they call him by name)...? i like that a bit better. they start going on about crazy shit that makes roided out flowey kind of lose it at them which leads to them apologizing to their own asriel but then realizing they need to find frisk

but HOW do they find frisk

The end shows chara asriel and frisk hugging eachother, all alive and well. Then the two are “processing…” and remember that oh, theyve done some dark messed up stuff.

Personality

Monarch was a blank slate at the time of his creation, but was given an artificial soul so he could learn emotions to be a more useful 'tool'. Ultimately he found he disliked being controlled by the Witch who made him, and is probably part of his distrust of others. He finds that he likes insects particularly Butterflies and Moths he sees as beautiful. Monarch doesn't need to eat due to being a Golem technically, but he does have a fondness for sugary drinks and citrus fruits. He can change the shape and colors of his wings to suit how he feels at the time, and while he has certain preferences he'll change this up from time to time. He is extremely curious which is why he has caused so much trouble and his childlike curiosity can be disastrous at times. He understands Happiness, Joy, Confusion, Hunger, Sickness, Anger, and Fear thus far. Things such as Kindness, Compassion, Empathy, Pain, Sadness, Love, Friendship, and Confidence are things he has yet to fully understand. Perhaps if he had a mentor or Ally they could teach him these things and help him see what he's doing isn't okay. He has been shown to enjoy watching most of the Frisk, Charas, Sanses, and Papyruses. Although he seems extremely fearful of Error, Ink, Quantum Tale Sans, Oni Sans, and those of power on level with his own. Inspite of his fear of Oni however he does sometimes seem to have a fondness for watching him although if Oni catches the slightest glimpse of his creator he freaks out flustered and leaves quickly.

History

Monarch or Butterfly Sans, is the creation of a Witch who sought to make a powerful familiar in the beginning. She collected the dust of skeleton monsters and mixed it with the roots of the Forever Elm to make her golem like skeleton. Her creation however is much stronger than she anticipated and it knows it's Creator is weaker.

Monarch kills the Witch so it can be free one night, and begins traveling in the multiverse. Monarch does have the ability to learn emotions and observes alternates to learn them. However upon seeing genocide timelines they develop a curiosity similar to that of Frisk and Chara. They begin altering space and time to see what happens inside it.

This is how Violentale is started, because of Monarchs somewhat twisted curiosity. The only one to have even glimpsed Monarch is Oni Sans however his discovery is discredited because of his mental state.

Monarch is extremely dangerous for many reasons not only can they alter the area their in, they can cause horrible glitches in the programs of AUs. Because of this Monarch is deemed by multiple beings to be a high priority criminal who needs to be captured before the corrupt the code of anymore AUs further.

The only blessing is Monarch is not extremely offensive in attacking the issue is their speed and control over time & space. In theory they can be caught by items from Quantum Tale or by Errors strings. However this theory is only known due to Monarch aversion to Error, Ink, Quantum Tale, and Violentale. Although it's aversion to the AU it caused may be potentially due to guilt or fear of its inhabitants discovering its Manipulation.

Mermay ended yesterday, but I’m sitting on the beach at this very moment so let’s fucking do this:

🌴🐬BEACH HEAD CANNONS!!!🐬🌴

Chara

❤️ They are actually rather neutral over the ocean. Far more of a skipping stones and playing in the lake kind of kid. Though, they do have a respect for the water’s raw power and changing tides. (Also seeing how much Undyne loves it made them want to appreciate the ocean more)

❤️ Thanks to being attached to Frisk’s soul, they kinda have to go to the beach all the time now. They like to go out as far as they can and walk along to the bottom, or float above Frisk and try to freak them out.

❤️ All that being said, they ADORE sharks. They nerd out every time they get to go to the aquarium. (Then get kinda embarrassed about it).

❤️ They have (on more than one occasion) convinced Frisk that because they’re a ghost they can see all the ghosts of everyone who’s drowned, and that yes, pirates ARE coming to get them...... It backfired at the notion that now Frisk WANTED to go meet the ghost pirates.

❤️ Had a brief period of wanting to be a mermaid, purely because A) Not a human and B) Typically man eaters. It suited their style

Frisk

❤️ They LOVE the ocean.... or rather, they love the beach. There’s one right at the edge of Ebbott City, so in the summer, they get to go up every weekend or so. And you can bet on that weekend, they have an absolute ball with whomever family/friend took them this time.

❤️ Their favorite part is exploring. They love to run around on the beach, looking for shells or any critters, as well as going out into as deep as the can in the ocean (usually only to be called back by their mom). Speak of the devil, Toriel bought them a snorkeling kit for their gotcha day and that thing has been used religiously ever since!

❤️ Every time they go the the car to go home, Frisk has to be checked by an adult (not either of the skelebros, they are WAY to lenient on this one) to make sure that they don’t have any stow away sea critters. One too many times of Frisk trying to keep a pet crab.

❤️ They take swimming lessons from Undyne! There were only a couple of misunderstandings over wether or not a humans could breathe underwater, but its all been sorted out! They’re doing really well!

❤️ They refuse to learn how to dive. Undyne has been trying to teach them for MONTHS now. It’s cannon ball or nothing, and they’re determined to keep it that way.

Flowey

❤️ Back when he was Asriel, he’d wanted to see the ocean. They don’t exactly have HUGE bodies of water in the underground like that, basically only the river. And no one swims in the river. Add in Chara’s talk of mermaids and their stories about lakes and skipping stones and all that.... It had been a big goal of his. Now that he’s there, and without the capabilities to swim or get in the water, and without the person who said they’d show him the surf.... it’s uh, it’s lost its appeal.

❤️ Frisk and Papyrus tried to get him to go out in one of those dog floaties. It looked pretty ridiculous and nearly tipped over a couple of times. Inevitably it was decided that it was just best to just keep him on the shore or in the shallows strapped to someone’s chest.

❤️ Usually he just sits on the shore with Paps, Frisk, or Toriel. He (begrudgingly) likes to make sand castles. He’s actually gotten quite good at them. Either that or eat nice cream.

❤️ Papyrus made him tiny sunglasses. He wears them every time they go to the beach.

❤️ When he does go into the water, he likes to stick his head under the serf and try to find fish. He actually managed to catch one in his mouth once, both impressive and terrifying.

Toriel

❤️ She is fond of the beach. Not so much the water, but she does enjoy the occasional swim with Frisk. Would probably like going out on a boat, though she has never tried it.

❤️ Usually while the rest of the family swims, she’s on the shore in her beach chair, reading a good book and keeping a watchful eye on her kids. She can usually get through half of the thing before its time to go home.

❤️ That being said, when she does go out in the water (usually to cool off or check on Frisk and/or Flowey) she is remarkably good at floating along. That, and she’s abit of a beast when it comes to X-treme monkey in the middle. That lady is huge and can use that height when she needs to. Also she has to shake off when she gets out of the water.

❤️ She ALWAYS has a beach bag on her, and in that beach bag is pretty much anything you’d ever hope to need. Pool toys, goggles, fresh water, extra sunscreen, at least three books, money, Your scocial security number, you name it.

❤️ Toriel’s usually the go to ‘hold tired swimmer gently’ person. And has done so for everyone in the main cast but Mettaton and Undyne. You could just fall asleep in those big ole’ arms.

Sans

❤️ He’s, as with most things, pretty nuetral about the ocean. Though, he adores the fact that it’s a day he can just slack off and relax in the sun (and sometimes water). He’s usually on the beach in a beach chair or sitting in a pool floaty, just drifting along. Sometimes he’s just latched onto Paps or Toriel, it’s kinda a wild card where he is at any given time.

❤️ He has never been sober ONCE while at the beach with the family. Mostly thanks to the fact that he somehow always has a martini in hand. No one knows where he gets it, let alone how it is almost always at least half way full. Needless to say, he’s at least buzzed by the end of the day.

❤️ Every time they go to the beach, he wears the most insane sunglasses. I’m talking Elton John style, but if they came from dollar tree. Normally it’s a pineapple pair, but they change on a whim. Once again, no ones entirely sure where they come from.

❤️ He briefly moved the illegal hotdog stand to beach, before the threat of getting fined was close enough to scadattle. This, the limited addition ‘Colddogs’ (now for 5g, wait he meant 50g, actually its 500-) became a thing. They were followed shortly by ‘Frozendogs’ (available in 50 flavors!)

❤️ The two never breathe a word of it, but every once in awhile Papyrus will rent a canoe and the two of them will go out on the water. They only do this at the dead of night, when the water is still and clear. Way out past the buoys, where it’s hard to see the shore, the moon and the stars bounce off the water in a shifting, funhouse esc reflection. Being out there, together, in practically silence..... It brings a lot of comfort to the two of them. It reminds Sans that yeah, this is real, and some things are worth remembering.

Papyrus

❤️ Paps is very fond of the shallows, but not a huge fan off big, open water. Unless he’s in the comfort of a canoe or boat. It’s just too big of a space. One can feel so... alone out there. But!! If he’s in chest or higher or with a group of close friends, he’s good!!

❤️ He bought special spandex gloves to wear in the water, ones that cover his fingers and palms without being skin (bone???) tight. They help him tread the water better, since he’s the opposite of buoyant. Which is definitely the only reason he bought them! No other reason in sight! Why would you even ask that?!

❤️ He, Undyne, and Frisk play ALOT of beach games, all far more extreme than their originals. The current turnomemt is over X-Treme volleyball, this time featuring antigravity magic and spears. Frisk is, somehow, winning.

❤️ A good portion of the time, he eats nice cream and makes sand castles with Flowey. Their creations are startlingly structurally sound and flourished. Though, they are also usually next to a life sized sand-Papyrus. No one knows where the sand came from.

❤️ He tried catch and realease shark fishing with Undyne once. It um, got interesting to say the least. Especially when they tried to use Papyrus as live bait. They only had to go to the ER twice!

Undyne (Aka my entire reason for writing this)

❤️ Undyne doesn’t love the ocean. She doesn’t even like the ocean. She ADORES the ocean. You can find her there almost every day after work, sun or storm. She never realized how much she would thrive in salt water until she was there, and now she can’t believe she lived without it. Its so raw and passionate and buetiful, and she’s just at home in the waves.

❤️ Her favorite time to be out is during a good storm, when the ocean is at her roughest. Undyne has learned how to boogie board and body surf since she got on the surface, and uses those huge waves to catch some air. She WANTS to learn how to surf, but has yet to find someone to teach her. Storms are also the best for letting the water roll over her and letting herself drift in the tides, both are pretty damn amazing feelings.

❤️ Because she can breathe and see under the water, she also likes to swim out really deep into the open ocean. No one in the family can follow, but it gives her a lot of time to think. Also, there are sometimes HUGE fish out there, which she greatly enjoys seeing and interacting with. She’s. she’s fought a tiger shark before. And probably other, larger and more dangerous things. (Also when she gets home, Alphys always talks about how her kisses taste like salt. Undyne loves it).

❤️ Before she became Asgore’s body gaurd, Undyne was pretty much out of work. Not a whole lot of people wanted a massive, sharp toothed, she-shark selling retail in their stores. But, being a fish and all, she got managed to get a job as a life gaurd over the summer! This ended in her actually giving swim lessons to a couple of kids (starting with Frisk)!! She is actually a pretty good trainer and still teaches a few kids every once in awhile over summer breaks.

❤️ Her and Asgore went on a fishing trip once! The boat nearly capsized, Undyne ended up going in to fish instead of using the pole, there were life lessons taught about patience, and Asgore got horrendously away sick. Needless to say, it was a good trip. They still have pictures on Asgore’s fridge!

Alphys

❤️ As much as her girlfriend loves it, she’s not actually a huge fan of the water. It’s overwhelming and dries out her scales, and when she’s in super deep it makes her really uncomfortable. She’s stared into oblivion before and, well, it’s not a good feeling. The deep sea reminds her of that.

❤️ That being said, she LOVES the beach itself. She could sun bathe for hours while Undyne is swimming. Just pop on her head phones, lay on the sand, and embrace her lizard heratage! Also, she likes to watch her hot girlfriend do hot things like catch fish in her teeth and throw skeletons, so it’s a win win.

❤️ Naturally, this means a lot of her and Undyne’s date end up at the beach one way or anouther. Every time they go now, Alphy makes a point of collecting a seashell. They all hang on a string over her bed, it’s her favorite part of the room.

❤️ More times than not, if the sand is particularly nice and warm, Alphys falls asleep on it. Like, hard core passed out asleep. She just loves the fluffy parts of the sand so much??? And it’s so comfortable??? And she’s gotten more than afew overheating from sleeping ALL day, but she can’t help herself. It’s just too cozy!

❤️ Her favorite thing about the ocean is always going to be seeing Undyne’s smile though. She loves it. She loves the way her girlfriend’s kisses taste after she’s been in the sea. She loves how content the girl is after a good swim, and how cuddly they get in the living room. She loves smelling the air and holding her hand and seeing the sun on the water. She wants to spend forever in her arms, on the sand, eating nice cream and watching the sun set.

Mettaton

❤️ So. He’s a robot. Alphys is currently working on waterproofing his body, but until then he’s shore bound. That doesn’t mean he won’t done his best sun hat and glasses, steal a life gaurd’s chair, and pose dramatically on the beach though!

❤️ Truth be told, he actually quite enjoys long walks on the beach. His boots are well protected enough to go a way into the water as well, so he takes them sometimes with Alphys. Also, night time on the beach holds SPECTACULAR song writing material! There’s something so inspirational about the atmosphere.

❤️ That being said, summer concerts are the bomb. Litterally. There’s pyrotechnics. He’s not as big a star as he was in the underground, but some local beach performances are well within his pay grade. The thrill of the stage! The cries of the people! The personality and connection to his adoring fans! The one time he crowd surfed! The fashion! It’s all just perfect!

❤️ He also frequents beach side shops, thanks to the atmosphere and outfit selection. One can NEVER go wrong with a floppy hat and a sheer coverup. It’s just impossible.

❤️ He relates WAY too hard to the little mermaid, both in the original story and Disney. There’s just something that hits too close to home about longing for humanity and a new, more comfortable body... He gets Ariel man, he gets her.

Asgore

❤️ He likes to go on long morning walks on the beach alone. There’s something comforting about the sun rise and the sound of the waves rolling around him. There’s something even more sweet about the rare conversations, only lasting a hello and small talk, all few and far between. Sometimes he finds himself wishing he had a dog to walk with him, but in the end decides against it. He’s been alone a long time, he can last one more day.

❤️ He really enjoys going shelling. Sometimes, he even likes to paint his finds and put them up in his windows. Frisk helps him, he likes that.

❤️ He’s become a vollenteer to help find and aid sea turtles’ hatch sites. He loves watching them hatch and get to the sea safely. Though he’s not supposed to, he’ll protect them from the gulls.

❤️ Thanks to being in so close to the sea, he had a brief phase of being rather in love with verities of seaweed and kelps. He tried to keep afew using water tanks, but could never quite get them right. Ah well, at least the petunias and roses are doing nicely.

❤️ He has a hard time reading or watching things about mermaids. They make him sad.
