Maybe it’s just me, and coloured by the fact they were both horrible people, but looking at the portraits of Thomas Howard and Thomas Seymour, their eyes are just so...dead. They’re like shark eyes.
I don’t think it’s the simple fact their eyes are dark and they’re not smiling because:
She looks stern, but not soulless.
Also Henry VIII looks (deliberately) intimidating
and colour me intimidated, but I still don’t feel alarm bells ringing in my head and shivers going down my spine the same way as when I look at the portraits of the Thomases and my brain goes “that man’s missing a soul.”
