rating music please don't hurt me #20 | lil boat 3.5 - lil yachty

every five entries, i will look into a significant (not always a masterpiece) album from the past (totally not a stolen idea). today we're going to talk about lil yachty's album lil boat 3.5.

lil boat 3.5 marks an interesting end to the lil boat trilogy. the two first album, lil boat 1 and 2, were an unexplainable mess during my first glance of listening, but i may not go further talking about this because i haven't got a full experience with the two pieces yet. to be honest, lil boat 3.5 is a little bit underrated, and i mean a little bit because the album is more tolerable than the two first albums, but still in a messy and unpolished fashion.

please note that i'm rating lil boat 3.5, which is the deluxe version of the original album lil boat 3. 8 new songs were added in the deluxe bundle of lil boat 3.5, they are alright, but it doesn't improve the overall quality of the album that much.

the new production style improves the album by a decent amount, and fortunately for me, it just really fits my taste alright. the production was the thing that hooked me up, but it also was the thing i feel gray about, because its kind of repetitive. the production is very energetic and fun to listen, its so crazy it made me dumbfounded, but is a hot mess sometimes.at least they can make the retro-ass synth better? but hey they hooked me up so thats a point.

this is yachty philosophy in lil boat 3.5: guest-list in front and im in the back. every got a great spotlight in the verse, except for oliver tree because how would you even let him in your album, yachty?

overall, the new album is interesting and tasty to bite the least, but that's only in my opinion. in a retrospective view, the album is yet quite messy and tasteless, and goofy, like on crack. its not boring thoguh even so its an career-defining album from the artist and will lie in his legacy, and yes it will be an interesting one.

this album may not be in your favorites, but it will be in my 'wtf is this bullshit i love this' list.

underrated gem(s): lil diamond boy - its a criminal fact that this song is so unpopular, LIKE ITS SO GOOD, t.d - every guest ate and left no crumbs, if there is crumbs it is prob lying on lil yachty deadass, westside - no comment its just not bad and not not good.

tracks that i rec listening: flex up - hello lgbtq community especially the lesbian couples from the ghetto who is a rage rap fan, coffin - i really like this repeating and hard hitting beat into the verse, charmin, just how i'm feelin', in my stussy's, top down - roblox sim game ahh beat idk, split/whole time - i went so insane when the smooth transition happened SKJDKJF, pardon me - this song will always be catchy asf, demon time, can't go, oprah's bank account - love this and drake maybe uhhhhhhhh, range rover sports truck, lemon head - throughout the song is a repetitive sample that plays like you're using that one electronic somewhat midi piano on garage band that plays the sample in tune when played.

worst track: certified - the synths are horrible, there are tracks as rubbish as this but it is explainable to be on top of this monstrosity

overall score 6.3/10 - this is all opinion so pls no hate

boat's chat but with a computer head as mint suggested. the idea is that it's kind of a fucked-up robot, and the screen can display multiple different faces that can pop in and out as they talk. and of course it's covered head to toe in nautical theming :) also im thinking it has it/they pronouns

#sea of thieves #zia goes on #long tags but if people want a better/readable format I can edit the tags/add the story #also love u Katt ur my perfect and wonderful girlfriend for life <3<3<3 #SO many amazing moments with my gf and solo x3 #sinking reapers and overcoming all odds every time x3 #she tells the stories way better but basically: #1. we decided to try some PvP and went after this random boat we saw #a boat started chasing to assist the one we were chasing so it become a 2v1 ships (3v2 players) #between my gf's amazing captaining and my boarding and 'friendly fire' between the two we STOMPED them #scoring us a Lv5 Mercenary flag and TON of loot #took us from beginning of Reaper Emis2 to two loot drops away from Lv5 Emis B) #2. we hopped on tonight to try some PvP but then ran into other fresh spawns so we started messing around and allianced them #meanwhile a reaper across the map was climbing the ranks....... #we just did some little voyages messing around and cashed in a lil bit then headed to reapers to check out the Reapers who'd become Lv5 #We caught them RIGHT at the end of a Skelly fleet and used the skeleton galleon as a cover for our attack 👀 #we fucked up right at the start #the skelly ships came at us for a bit before the reapers showed up and then they boarded us and killed me and my gf gkdnfkd #She respawned and said 'GGs' #but it wasnt over yet........ #She went down again and by the time I got back up #I took THREE of this Galleon Reaper instantly out with my sword and salvaged the ship x3 #some time went on and us and the skelly ship were hammering away at them........ and eventually the reaper sunk >:3 #and right after we sunk the skelly galleon pretty quick #BUT because we thought the galleon loot had stacked with the reaper we almost lost like more than half the loot >_> #if I hadn't seen some seagulls last second we would've missed out on a GOOD 100k #but also missed out on more since we had lowered our own emissary flag by then 😭

yourusername i was originally planning on making an ep, most likely called talk too much, with somewhat final drafts of pretty girls, 23, i wish, willow, talk too much, and gemini moon for the tracklist. but, as some of you guys know, my life took a drastic turn in august. in the past month i have tried to distract myself as much as possible, constantly on the move, whether it was actually moving out of my apartment or hanging out with my friends. but when i worked on my music i let myself really feel. feel the pain and the betrayal. and so, after way too many late night runs to mcdonalds, mental breakdowns, calls with my therapist, and movie marathons, i had six more songs.

and so snow angel was born.

even though i know this isn't going to get rid of the pain, which will probably linger in the depths of my insecurities for years to come, snow angel is the step i needed to take to reach acceptance.

thank you to everyone who made this album possible: my fans, friends, producers, family -- i truly could not have done this without you.
