People make a big deal about how close her style is to Naoko Takeuchi because they worked together. And obviously that’s true, and, I agree that it’s very fun to see the similarities. But I’m also struck at the range of styles she shows in this book, not all of which are similar to Takeuchi, and that also feels worth noting.

what do you guys think of the GUTS cover? personally i like it but i'm not the biggest fan of it, i think it's a little too similar to the SOUR cover. it looks a bit like an alternate pic from a SOUR promo photoshoot. i do like how it's more provocative and daring than the SOUR cover, which i think was very much intentional, like a "more grown up" type thing (even the same color nail polish but with the cuticles showing), but i think this pic from the vampire music video photoshoot could've been a good cover:

i feel like this ⬆️ screams "GUTS" more, it's more raw and dramatic. plus it's a totally drastic look from the first album. i think olivia going with a very similar aesthetic for guts as with sour is kind of a mistake, as we're seeing the same lavender/lilac motifs (see below) and simplicity everywhere and it just doesn't feel updated enough imo.

for example, i think she looks totally beautiful and ethereal and FRESH in this pic ⬇️, which also has the green. if she went with something more forest/nature/earthy for GUTS i feel like that would come across as more grounded and mature. just my two cents
