I have no idea what Alpha was doing or understand what she was trying to explain, but she was interrupted. Surprise kisses are surprising apparently.

I did another drawing with Alpha! And added Crimson, Amber, Serif, and Cinnamon in the background. I wasn't all that happy with the last drawing Alpha was in, so I drew her again. And decided to add in the other girls in the empty space. I actually quite like it, though the colors could've been done a little better.

Mermay Doodles - Day 10: Lilytale Crimson as a sea lion mermaid

It’s mostly in water so it counts as a mermaid, not as a centaur! That was an interesting thing to draw, to be sure, but surprisingly, sea lions are quite simple to draw. Very smooth, that’s for sure!

I’ve just finished my most recent drawing project!

These lovely ladies are @nighttimepixels skeleton sisters

I’ve kinda wanted to draw them for a while, but I also wanted to practice designing outfits in alternative fashion styles, so I asked what they’re be likely to try out!

I also wanted to explain my design choices, so I’ll pop that here:

Vellum- Her style was goth. I thought it would be cute to go for a red riding hood inspired gothic outfit. I also added some orange highlights to the outfit. I know they don’t necessarily fit with the goth aesthetic, but I also wanted to stay at least partially true to the girls colour schemes, as I feel they say a fair bit about their personalities.

Serif- Her style was Lolita. I actually really liked the pattern on hers. I thought it would be interesting to design the embellishments to look like blue bones, whilst leaving the main body of the dress a cream colour to partially emulate her normal clothing. Her hat is big in keeping with the style, as lolita’s tend to try to balance out the volume of their dresses with large head pieces.

Alpha- Her style was supposed to be punk, however after recalling having read somewhere that she tends to wear a cyber punk aesthetic, I thought it would be more fun to take it in the opposite direction and go for more of a steam punk aesthetic. It’s kinda hard to see though because she’s so small...

Amber- Her style was magical girl inspired. I did initially try to go for a lolita look, however she looked kinda uncomfortable in a big poofy dress, so I changed the design. I embellished it with bees because I thought it would be a cute way to allude to her love of honey. I kept the warm orange tones from her clothes, as well as the blue from her jeans to add a bit of contrast.

Sapphire- Her style was punk. I gave her more of a casual street style punk look with the ripped jeans and leather jacket, keeping her signature blue from her normal clothes to provide contrast against the black and gray. I also gave her platform shoes to boost her height a little. Safety pins were also included in the outfit as they were practically a staple of OG punk wear. They also kinda just look cool.

Crimson - Her style was gothic lolita. I think her outfit was perhaps the most complex? But it was quite fun to design. I also thought that using reddish roses as the main detail would be cute, though I’m not sure if I went overboard with the amount of red used.

Scarlet- Her style was gothic heroine. I initially wasn’t entirely sure what that meant until I looked it up, there seemed to be two rough types, so I went more on the ballgown type style for scarlet. The swooshy dress was quite fun to draw however. I thought I’d push her pinkish red into the design more by making the skirt of the dress ombré.

Glyph- Her style was goth. I possibly went for a bit more of a city chick goth vibe though... but I have no regrets because for some reason hers is my favourite outfit. I drew her with her guitar out of its case as I thought the outfit might be one she’d wear while performing?

Twist- Her style was punk. I wanted to have elements of her outfit matching her sisters, as for some reason I had the feeling that despite not being able to see, the knowledge that they were matching would make her really happy? I also tried to design the outfit to have parts of drastically varying textures, as she’s been noted to enjoy feeling them. So I was thinking that the jacket would be a soft leather, the shirt a soft cotton, the tartan would be slightly fuzzy, fishnets obviously have texture, and fluffy boots. The tartan was made with blues and reds from her and blades original outfits.

Blade- Her style was punk. I gave her a long jacket and a tartan skirt because I like long jackets and tartan skirts. It’s a cute aesthetic. I also thought that to justify her tartan matching Twist’s I could employ the idea that she makes clothes sometimes, so perhaps she made her and her sisters outfit, intentionally using the same fabric as a way to make her sister happy? And also like, punk is supposed to be a somewhat DIY style, and what could be more DIY than making your own clothes! She’s also wearing docs, as they’re a popular punk style of shoe.

Pepper- Her style was gothic heroine. I went for a different aesthetic to scarlet for peppers dress, keeping the long flowing look but making it look a little more like a fancy nightgown. I think her dress is kinda pretty, and like how the softer purple blends with the white. I think the outfit almost has a more innocent(?) look than scarlet’s somehow.

Cinnamon- Her style was lolita. I did however elect to give her a more masculine style of the fashion though, as she too looked uncomfortable in poofy dresses- I tried to make them work several times but it never looked right on her- so I gave her more of a ‘penguin suit’ look, puffing the coat out more around the waist in an attempt to keep the silhouette. I also dressed it up with bows in the hopes of making the outfit a little bit more feminine.

I also did some rough sketches to illustrate some of the ideas night threw out while discussing the style choices the girls might make:

So have some drunk Crimson, dramatically swooning Pepper and Scarlet, a tiny vampire and an attempt to make alpha look more steampunk-y.
