Another top from the vintage Barbie pattern. I think I've about decided I don't love this pattern except for the straps. And this yarn was way too bulky for this scale. But I do have a doll who can rock it :3

So I do own 1 dress that fits Limhwa Mari! I've had if for so long I don't remember what size it was listed as. I think it was blythe-but-technically-pure-neemo.

I've had these blue glass eyes and I guess they are 8mm? I got them for Chiclines way back when, and they don't even fit Mari! The brown ones are 6mm acrylic from obitsu. Btw her faceup came off with soap and a toothbrush. It's like it wasn't sealed, except that there's no staining at all???

And temporary 3" wig. It only fits because it's stretchy. Gonna have to look for 4" wigs for her.

I was commissioned once again by the lovely @queenofsquids ! This time it was for a Limhwa Eva head.

QueenofSquids asked for light texturing, black eyebrows and lashes, and some bright red gradation on her lips. I was so excited to use my clear red Tamiya paint, which I rarely use, that I overworked the lips so they're not as gradual as I'd hoped. But I really enjoyed the challenge of paying attention to undertones and hues since I don't get to do it often for others.

Thank you again @queenofsquids for giving me the opportunity to paint this for you! I definitely learned working on her. :)

My Limhwa EOS Nina in normal skin got a new faceup as well. I'm really happy with her more nautral looking eyebrows this time around.

Also I feel she looks way more alive now that I used more colors than just peach tones on the faceup (there are subtle blues and purples mixed in).

Limhwa Luna or Nakana Panya open eye to go with my Limwha To.m?? 🤔 (not the sales photo for the first luna pic, appologies to queenofsquids, the listing on the MP doesn’t have any wigged photos) I like the Panya sculpt most, but the NW body is more girlish looking vs the more grown up Limwha 57 body, idk... plus they’re both potentially a little short with the Limhwa 65 boy body, but it’s hard to get a sense, there aren’t a lot of pics.

idk i want a more mature looking girl doll or two to go with my bigger, more realistic guys (dollshe classic saint and rosen, limhwa tom, dollzone licht, leeke rihael dreaming mod on a 65cm body), and it’s strangely hard to find in the right not-too-pinheaded scale, esp if you think iplehouse girls won’t necessarily aesthetically fit in.

My dear Holly got a new faceup this year. I didn't like how monotone her last faceup was, and her eyebrows felt too thin. This is a good look for her though!

Been rummaging around the displays, swapping wigs and redressing and accessorizing here and there.

A little bit of shuffling individuals to different pods / shelves. Spiritdoll Abies and F-11 are strangely compatible.

I keep trying to shove all the Unoas together but four is overcrowded looking no matter how I try to pose them. And I think Marion's faceup sours the mix for me; she had this faceup when I purchased her and I've never warmed up to all the red blush.

16" Fashion Dolls

Elfdoll Hana (BJD), Tonner Tyler, Tonner Matt, Tonner Sydney, Mme Alexander Jadde Lee

In the 1990s and 2000s there was a boom in larger-than-barbie-scale fashion dolls, and I collected a lot of 16" dolls from Robert Tonner, Alexander doll co., Ashton-Drake doll, and a couple by Integrity toys/Jason Wu. Nowadays you can pretty much only buy them on Ebay, alas. The good news is that Barbies and other 11.5" dolls have become a lot cooler and more diverse lately, although the quality of clothing available for Barbie-sized dolls still doesn't match the fashions for the larger dolls.

The Doll Morgue I store most of my 16" fashion dolls in an Ikea wine-bottle shelf thingy, and this is the result.

Ball-Jointed Dolls (BJDs)

Ball-Jointed Dolls from Asian companies are my favorite dolls; they tend to be quite expensive and there are long timeframes for manufacture and delivery. These are ideal dolls if you like to do custom stuff - you can change out their eyes, wigs, they're large so they're easy to sew for, and they often come with unpainted faces so if you like doing "face ups" (as face painting for BJD's is usually termed), they're a nice canvas for this. I've had most of the ones in my collection for 15+ years, since after my son was born I switched to spending most of my money on him. They've all held up very well, though, and I still enjoy them tremendously.

Some photos I found of my Limhwa Mano, that I never uploaded anywhere. I was looking for semi-decent-ish shots of his hands, but I didn’t find anything. I haven’t taken photos of him, since 2019-ish. These are from then. 

I’m always tempted to mod him again, but the idea of getting more Aves Apoxie Sculpt, in the tiny containers only to not use even half of it, makes me feel sick to my stomach. Despite how massive I always complain his head is, it is still a small head. His lips are not even half an inch in height and length. It takes less of a pinch of the clay to mod them... that’s all I want to mod! DX

I have to try to work on him again soon however, because you never know when you’ll kick the bucket and then that’ll be that! Lol! (:

I love this dude regardless; I could stare at him all day! I do, however, want to mod his lips just a tiny bit further. The size is good, I just want the top lip to be a bit wider. I hope these are not sent to the dark side, because his nips are showing in some of these... He’s a plastic doll, less than 67cm in height. A freaking giant piece of plastic, you can literally see all his joints in all the photos, but whatever. >__>;;
