this is from a tomarrymort wip i started ages ago, where tom is a necromancer and harry is the master of death. i have no idea if i'll ever finish it because the plot didn't make much sense as it was, but!!! i reread it a few days ago and i actually liked it, so here it is:

“Ginny Weasley. My friend is coming, I can ask him to relay your message to Cho.”

Tom takes the proffered hand and shakes it. She's saving him from tedious bureaucracy, so she definitely deserve the last dregs of politeness Tom still carries after the interaction with the Welcome Witch. “Tom Riddle.”

Her eyebrows furrow for a moment, then her expression clears as if she's had a big revelation. “The Gaunt heir?”

“What?”

“Because if you are that Tom Riddle, and I don't think there are many others with that name, then my friend will want to meet you too. He's been looking for you for a while.”

“Why is an Auror looking for me?” Tom's made sure that any blatantly illegal act he's performed in England has been concealed to perfection; besides, his consulting work with the Unspeakables gives him a certain amount of room to play with, as long as he doesn't maim or murder anyone or try to overthrow the Ministry.

Well, he hasn't murdered in a long time, and as soon as the thought crosses his mind he tightens his Occlumency shields on instinct.

“You can ask him. He's right over there.”

But Tom doesn't need to look, doesn't need to be told who her friend is. Death has crossed the protection wards and it's reverberating through Tom's core, submerging him in still waves.

Premise: AU where Tom is Lord Gaunt and is in a political marriage with Bellatrix Black. Things are okay for Bella until Harry James Potter graduates Hogwarts and becomes one of the Aurors in Tom's security detail. She just knows Potter isn't good news, but why doesn't her Lord understand that?

“Harry Potter, you are a fool -” Bella sneered, her voice dripping with contempt. She took a step forward, her body tensed with aggression. “Enough, Bella.” “A fool that has no idea of the powers that you meddle with. I will rip you apart, and leave you to die in a gutter like a mongrel dog!” “Bella.” “You cannot fathom my power, you cannot fathom the magic that flows through me, you cannot fathom what Dark Magic can do,” she continued, ignoring the warning. “Bella.” “There is no protection spell that can stop my wand!” “Bellatrix!” At her Lord husband’s exasperated shout, Bellatrix stopped at once. Her chest was heaving, as she stared into the mirror with wide resentful eyes. The reflection smirked back, as if taunting her for wasteful rehearsal screams. Lord Gaunt sat in the chaise at the back, his tall visage observing her through the mirror. ”You need to understand, my Lord,” she turned to face him, her body language defiant. “That half-blood Auror is nothing but trouble! I’ve seen the way he looks at you when your attention is elsewhere.” Lord Gaunt sighed, closing his eyes, fingers fiddling with the yew wood stick. “Please, Bella. Give the boy a break. Harry is a valuable member of my security detail. I shouldn’t have to remind you of this every other day,” he said, frustrated. Bella shook her head vehemently, her eyes blazing with conviction. “But he despises you, my Lord. I can feel it. He’s plotting against you.” Lord Thomas Marvolo Gaunt, the Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot, the Minister of Magic in Britain, and the Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards, was a very important, influential and powerful man. Okay, I couldn't decide what to send, because be proud would be spoilers, your fingers seek mine would make everyone cry, so I decided on six lies and one truth.

Premise: An agreement is made on the dawn of 2nd May, 1998. Harry gives Voldemort victory in return of stopping the hunt of muggle-borns and letting them normally into the wizarding society, and in return, Harry will never raise her wand against him nor he against her. Voldemort agrees. The vow is made, a contract signed, and Harry leaves wizarding society in Britain. After six months, she leaves England to travel the world. Voldemort didn't think Harry would ever leave. So, he tracks Harry’s whereabouts down every month, trying to convince her to come back to England.

“Well, thanks to you, we have forever, and if you grow bored, you’ve got plenty of other things to do!” hollered Harry.

“I don't want to do anything else, you stubborn witch!” shrieked Voldemort. “Says the most stubborn wizard in the history of the world!” hollered Harry, trying to kick him off her, the grass of the field mildly itching at the back of her shirt. But Voldemort was too heavy, and the kicks all missed. “You selfish old man, leave me to live!"  Staring up into red eyes that seemed to see only her, Harry felt tears edge at her eyelashes, voice breaking, turning hoarse. “You have what you want! You won! Leave me be! Let me live a life without you!” “Noooo!” Voldemort cried, the word filled with deep agony — one Harry felt like an echo in her soul, like someone stabbed her in the heart — like the mere idea of what Harry said brought him immense pain, like it was killing him. Voldemort strikes out like a snake, white hands lunging, wrapping around Harry's wrists like two snakes, long skeletal fingers coiling around them, pinning them to the ground. Harry never realized how tall Voldemort was until he was on top of her, casting an immense shadow over her, creating a shade for Harry with his own body, protecting her from the glare of the shining sun. “You’re —” sneered Voldemort. Whatever it was Harry was, Voldemort could not articulate it, howling in rage instead. Harry felt the same.  He looks beautiful in the sun, thought Harry, mesmerized, staring up at the waxy skin of Voldemort's white face gleaming like a pearl. Then… I want to kiss him.

I have way too many WIPs but the latest on my list is ruination so here goes:

Don’t stop, he told himself, clenching his jaw against the pain.

With weak steps he continued on, stumbling and near blind from the glare of the light and the sweat dripping into his eyes. He moved between clusters of rocks, grabbing desperately at the hot stones and hissing out short breaths through his teeth.

It took a pathetic shamble to reach the actual outcrop that seemed to make up most of the islet, rising high above his head like a jagged, dark wall. Lucerys clutched at one of the shelves of rock to keep himself steady and leaned forward into the shade being cast.

He swallowed dryly, agony in his throat, and closed his eyes. Tried not to think of how tired he was already or how each gasping inhale he took made his cracked lips burn.

I don’t think I can do this, Arrax, he thought miserably, pressing his forehead into the rock harder. His mouth pinched, sorrow ringing higher, because where a warm bonfire used to crackle in his chest was now nothing but a chilling void. There was a pressure building behind his eyes, a crushing weight in his temples – but no tears to relieve it.

A show-stopping alternate ending to the Final Battle, with Harry asking for a final kiss from Voldemort. 

Matriphagy by @being-luminous (M, 2k)

This fic takes the whole “Voldemort hunting Harry because of a prophecy” origin story, and adds a vampire twist to it. The floaty and detached vibe is a really nice contrast to the visceral horrors of what’s happening on-page — very skillfully done!

Phalanx by @vdoshu (E, 4k)

There’s a reason why Voldemort doesn’t wear shoes, which Harry, to his horror (and our delight), finds out firsthand. The foot worship in here is magnificently over-the-top in very satisfying detail.

Quiet as the Moon by @itsevanffs (M, 2k)

A Beauty and the Beast AU that’s a sequel to @duplicitywrites’ Certain as the Sun. I thought what was a really nice touch is how we see the state of their (unhappy) relationship through flashbacks interspersing the main action — in just a few sentences, itsevanffs manages to paint a picture of a very wretched existence for Harry, before he takes matters into his own hands. 

Research and Development by @cannibalinc (E, 6k)

Voldemort captures Harry and proceeds to experiment on him. And by ‘experiment’, I mean, carve Harry up and fuck him with his hemipenes in delightfully gratuitous, violent and unrestrained, and gushingly hot fashion.

Right in Front of My Salad? by IceLynx (T, 2k)

WIP last line tag Game

Not in order, but a few lines of something I'm brewing up. Not sure if I'll actually publish it.

Context: 20-year-old Harry Potter, while trying to cast a remembrance spell, is accidentally sent to a different timeline on June 24th, 1965, where he encounters a 39-year-old Dark Lord who’s in the beginnings of taking his foothold in Britain. 

This is part of their first encounter when he wakes up.

As he withdrew his hand, the man was staring up at him. Emerald green eyes shone brighter than any gemstone. Almond-shaped, blameless as could be. But there was a certain sharpness to them, an unyielding that would not be conquered.

Voldemort wanted to break him.

The siren’s call drew him closer. Black and white eyelashes only enhanced the intensity of them. They were begging him to come near. Close enough to feel the fire within until every scrap of flesh and bone was burnt to ash.

Something within him tingled. This stranger ignited something within him. He wanted to put his hand around that tender throat, to choke him until he was gasping for air. To smother him while he pleaded for release. Snuff out the unyielding. He wanted to destroy him. 

And then he wanted to build him back up. Piece together the little pieces of a broken person into his perfected image. Someone who was powerful, smart, but yielding to him. Only him.

5. Do you respond to comments? Why? Why not?

I always try to respond to comments. I love talking with my readers! 

6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

be proud, maybe. I say it's got the angstiest ending because Harry remains trapped with Voldemort.

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Harry Quits. Harry finally has had enough during the Atrium fight and he announces he is leaving. He ends up opening a flower shop in New York and Voldemort is a frequent visitor and they marry at the end! Just a very happy, short fic!

8. Do you get hate on fics?

I recently got a hate comment on not you, not now that ended up failing in its task and made me laugh instead. 😂Otherwise, not at all.

9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

I do write smut, but I haven’t officially published any yet. I write dark smut, non-con, dub-con, tender soft smut. I like writing everything.

10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?

I wrote a crossover with Naruto and Harry Potter where Naruto and the other teens end up in Hogwarts but never published it. This was when I was 17 or sth so take it with a grain of salt.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not to my knowledge. Don’t steal writer's fics, or else… 🔪

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

Not yet,  but a reader asked my permission to translate not you, not now in Chinese if I remember correctly? Anyway, I hope they tag me so I can see it!

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I did with an online friend but we haven’t published it.

14. What’s your all time favourite ship?

Harrymort. I prefer Snake Face Voldemort with Harry, but Tomarry & Tomarrymort also shares first place. 

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

Maybe be proud… mostly cus of all the smut scenes I need to write. It's planned for 10 chapters max yet I can't seem to get to writing them... 😔

16. What are your writing strengths?

Descriptions and emotions.

17. What are your writing weaknesses?

Dialogue! Curse you, dialogue!

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

It's cool, especially if you do a pop-up translation.

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Officially, Harry Potter.

20. Favourite fics you’ve written?

It has to be not you, not now. I am so proud of the graveyard and everything else. I put my all into this fic, it's the best of my writing and keeps pulling out the best stuff from me. It was my first ever fic and I am so happy so many people like it. I made so many friends with this fic and I am so happy I published it and I love writing it.

I also love be proud because it explores what would have happened had Voldemort managed to capture Harry on the graveyard.
