The Fall of the Damned by Dieric Bouts circa 1470
Oil on panel painting, originally produced as part of a triptych of the Last Judgement commissioned by the town of Louvain (Leuven) in 1468. The central panel is lost but the other side panel, The Ascension of the Elect, survives. They draw on Genesis 2:10, Book of Revelation and The Purgatory of St Patrick, a 14th-century Irish manuscript by Berol telling of Sir Owein's legendary trip to Purgatory. Ascension is now in the palais des Beaux-Arts de Lille.
Dieric Bouts (born c. 1415 – 6 May 1475) was an Early Netherlandish painter. Bouts may have studied under Rogier van der Weyden, and his work was influenced by van der Weyden and Jan van Eyck. He worked in Leuven from 1457 (or possibly earlier) until his death in 1475. Bouts was among the first northern painters to demonstrate the use of a single vanishing point illustrated in an other painting, Last Supper 1464–1467.

"Audition"
I made this a few weeks ago for a "concept art" assignment. It was my first attempt at linear perspective and I did not learn until critique that the table is not in fact in perspective, but we move. It was a fun one, I liked making the little characters. The room was modeled off of our classroom, but with more exciting colors and a better view out the windows.

"the cross- whose shape is divided in four parts, so that the projections, four in number, come into contact with itself in the middle- that he who was stretched upon this at the time of the economy of death is he who binds and frames the universe to himself, by himself bringing the different natures of existing things into one accord and harmony.
For among existing things something is thought of above or below, or thought passes sideways to the limits.
Therefore, if you take into account the constitution of heavenly things or the things beneath the earth or those at either of the [lateral] limits of the universe, everywhere the divinity meets your thought in advance, who alone is contemplated in existing things in every part, and who holds all things together in existence.
[...]
that it was necessary not only to be guided to an understanding of the divinity by our hearing but that sight should also be a teacher of loftier thoughts, whence also the great Paul begins when he initiates the people in Ephesus, through his teaching implanting in them the power to come to know 'What is the depth and the height, the breadth and length.'
For each projection of the cross is named by its proper predication, calling 'height' what rises above, and 'depth' what lies below, both 'length' and 'breadth' what extends to the sides."

OCTL Location Concept Sketches
This staircase is literally only visible for the first page or two, but getting its look to a place I can work with will help with drawing the rest of the building (which most of the story will probably? be set in? Its the case at least in the short story its based on, and I don't know yet how much will change in the rewrite or whether I'll go past its timeline).
Tumblr media
Lots of sketches and scribbled notes, really. I'm not comfortable drawing in linear perspective yet and it shows-- I don't really know where to place the horizon line so I don't have much control over what height the scene is viewed from. I fully expect that the design will keep evolving, but this is close enough to start lining the first few pages already.

Tenmyouji biker speech is like the most important scene in vlr to me. Without that it looks like the narrative never even questions akanes explanations and plans and motives and like i guess that's easy to do when you playing video game are also viewing it from a dozens of timelines at once as means to the true end perspective. And the other characters in that bonus chapter like clover and alice are so bizarrely understanding and not mad at her for kidnapping them. But it being junpei of all people who forces you to think about how every timeline goes on and is the single linear world there ever was for everyone else in it. When akanes plan is so much "i am going to kill jumpy 6000 000 times so i can make a happy world with jumpy :)". It's so important and it singlehandedly fixes something that wouldve really really bugged me and it makes akane and sigma better characters when it's explicit the game isnt just like exclusively believing theyre simply correct
