"There is going to be sexual tension. Between us. Between all male-female partners. It's in the documentation. In the manual, it suggests fantasy… As a way of dealing with it". - Detective Jane Seever from Life (2007-2009)
Erin: This is my boyfriend Jay, and his boyfriend Mouse.
Voight: Oh. Wait, sorry, what's the situation?
Erin: What do you mean?
Voight: How does this work?
Erin: Jay is gay, but he's straight for me, but he's gay for Mouse, and Mouse is really gay for Jay. And I hate Mouse.
Jay: It's not that complicated.
Mouse: No.
Voight: Oh. Yeah. Sure.
Voight, later, to Al: The thing about youth culture is... I don't understand it.
"All I'm saying is why are we dancing around? Voight doesn't have a problem with it. Everybody knows, so why are we still trying to hide it?" "That's a good point"
Are there any other Linstead fans still hanging around?
I know it's been several years since Sophia and Erin were on the show. I'm well aware there was bad stuff going down behind the scenes and that's why she left. I just want to know if there are any fans of this ship still hanging around?
I multiship, so I can bounce between my many favorite ships with no problem, but I'm hoping that other fans out there are still writing fics and making art of this awesome former couple.
Talk Shop Tuesday: Have you ever written for any other fandom, or done any writing not related to fanfiction?
I have!
I first dipped my toe into the fanfiction waters for Linstead/Chicago PD after they trashed my beloved ship. It was a great way to channel my feelings into something productive, and I realized it was exactly the creative endeavour I'd been looking for!
It's been so much fun writing for Chenford because we are in it. There is a constantly stream of new content, a wonderful community, etc., so it's not simply a matter of picking up the pieces and trying to slap a bandaid on the bullet hole that is canon (well, sometimes it is 😅)
The only other writing I've done outside of fanfiction is scholarly. I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature, so I've written many, many essays in my life!
