Jean-luc Picard yawned. “An utterly tiring last few days I must say myself” the Captain mutters under his breathe exhausted from the previous events. He was on Liro III trying to solve a problem between the Litorians a mixed species of Bajorans and Romulans they were in a dispute with the Ferengi for some reason, the Ferengi refuse to step down from the argument and Picard spent 3 days settling it. He was exhausted. Picard entered his ready room. “Computer, Early Grey tea hot.” Picard spoke to the computer, he grabbed his cup of tea sat down at his desk and read the reports shortly he heard his door chime. “Enter.” The captain said. Riker rushed in and explained “Captain! The borg appeared out of nowhere and are firing on Liro III!!” Riker yelled in hurry. Picard stood up quickly “Go to red alert and arm Photon Torpedoes.” The captain ordered putting down his report and tea as soon as Riker left he entered the bridge quickly with his shoulders up and tucking his uniform down. “Report.” He ordered. “Captain our shields are up and ready Photon Torpedoes are prepared to be fired sir.” Worf explained

“Make it so Mr. Worf.” The captain said stiffly, right after Worf fired the photon torpedoes on the Borg cube alarming the borg that federation ships were around the quadrant. “Captain, I’m sensing an unusually life form aboard the Enterprise I can’t quite understand who it is and their emotions..” Counselor Troi explained confused. There was a flash on the bridge. “Mon Capitaine!” Q said abruptly. “Q! What is your business here?!” Picard asked demanding answers. “Must I need reasons to see my old Capitaine?~” Q asked hand on his hip. “Q! Did you bring the borg into this quadrant?!” Picard asked. “Maybeeee. So what? That planet carries disgusting, eye burning creatures.” Q said disgusted “Q STOP THIS NOW!” The captain said in a demanding voice. “Fine, Fine your no fun Picard” Q said snapping his fingers making the Borg disappear. Everybody sighed in relief and Picard rushed to his ready room, Q followed behind.

“Q must you always show up aboard my ship in all the most life threatening times?” Picard asked grabbing his tea making sure it’s not cold and continuing to check the reports. “Well Jean-Luc.” Q said laying on his side on the couch. “I shouldn’t need a reason to pay my old capitaine a visit! How rude of you to think I! Me give you a reason to visit you should be blessed.!” Q said exaggerating the I. Picard gave him a single glance before muttering a “Of course..” he continued to read the reports and then the reports disappeared in a mil-a second. “Jean-luc I’m desperate for your undivided attention!” Q said dramatically leaning on Picard’s desk. “Q if you have something to ask- ask me now.” “Jean-luc what is gay?” Q asked “Well Q, Gay is basically taking interests in men.” Picard explained. “So are you Gay?” Q asked the French captain. Picard froze, ‘Did- Did data tell him??’ Picard thought. “Most certainly Jean-luc!” Q answered. “Q!- Quit reading my-“ He was cut off by Q kissing him, Picard melted into it and wrapped his arms around Q’s neck.

“So Jean-luc you do take interest in me does that mean you are gay?~~” Q teases. “Q, I- yes yes it does mean I’m gay.” Picard responds back. A small smile appeared on both of your faces. A decent one. Maybe Enemies to lovers was real. “Woooahh.” Wesley crusher interrupted. Picard quickly let go off Q. “U-uhm Ensign what do you need?-“ Picard said “Ma-Maybe I shouldn’t be here..” Wesley says nervously. Q smirks. “No worries me and my future husband just making out” Q said proudly. Wesley ran out the room to tell everybody. (they looked like this)

“You are absurd Q, also did you say future husband??” Picard asked confused. “Yes Jean-luc, future husband it’ll happen soon believe or not.” He said smirking. “I believe you Q just- don’t rush it if we do we’ll be 15 steps ahead.” Picard said. “Isn’t that good Jean-luc?” Q asked “To humans no, Q’s maybe.” Picard corrected.. “Ape brains am I right?” Q muttered “Q! I’M ON THE VERGE OF-“ Picard yelled. Everybody on the bridge was giggly except data and Worf bcuz baby data is Android and Worf always angy :(

Best of 2020: Latin tunes

The year 2020 started with one of the biggest Latin pop live events in Finland ever: Maluma live in Helsinki. Our DJ team was in charge of the warm-up DJ sets and we also organized the official afterparty. Soon after that, the pandemic complicated things and we had a pause of 3 months or so. After midsummer we were able to resume our regular events Terraza Latina / Latin Wednesdays and Fiesta Latina nights and those were great especially during the summer, before the second wave of the pandemic. It’s really challenging to make a list of the most played / most impactful / most interesting Latin tunes of 2020 because there were so many tunes that were big hits, crowd favorites and/or my personal favorites. Here I focus on the kind of music that we played at the parties - danceable popular music that used to be called “Urban Latin” but we decided to abandon that term. Perhaps we can call it contemporary Latin pop & reggaeton. I decided to list 20 top songs, but I would probably put them in a different order on a different day. It could be argued that ‘Hawài’ by Maluma was the biggest (most played / most popular) song of the genre in 2020. But there were so many other good songs that I decided to leave it out from my top 20. There were a couple of artists that really ran things in 2020. One of them was Myke Towers, not only for his own songs, but because he was featured in so many good songs and his verse was often the best part of the song. Bad Bunny stayed on the top, put out some party anthems like ‘Safaera’ and ‘Yo Perreo Sola’ and released two full albums plus a surprise compilation as an extra. The song ‘Dakiti’ from his latest album was an instant hit and became the most streamed song of the world at the end of 2020. But because the album was released so late, I will not include those songs on the 2020 list. I will do the same with Karol G’s late-2020 hit ‘Bichota’. When talking about albums, ‘Colores’ by J Balvin and produced by Sky Rompiendo must also be mentioned. Besides the album, J Balvin had the hit song ‘Agua’ with Tainy. Some of our most played songs in the summer were ‘Tattoo’, ‘Carita de Inocente’, ‘Tusa’ and yes, also ‘Hawái’. Closer to the end of the year, I would say ‘La Toxica’ and ‘Mi Niña’ were some of the top songs. The sad news in the reggaeton scene was the death of Dany (of the Cuban duo Yomil & el Dany) in July. Reparto music, the subgenre of Cuban reggaeton, provided some of the most fresh & interesting sounds of 2020. El Kimiko & Yordy and El Chulo seemed to make a big impact in the Cuban scene in 2020. From Brazilian tunes of the year, I really liked some Brega Funk songs like ‘Tudo No Sigilo’. There seemed to be a ‘funk rave’ trend in Brazilian funk scene also, but I didn’t get so much into that. ‘Rave de Favela’, ‘Desce Pro Play‘ and ‘Me Gusta’ were probably our most played 2020 songs from Brazilian artists. I CAN EXPLAIN... I rarely listen to music to begin with, so that plays a big part in this. Also, whenever I DO listen to music, I pretty much just listen to the same thing over and over until I finally get tired of it or something else comes along that grabs my attention. That has not happened here in part because there is a lot of variety in these songs (Reggaeton? Country? Rap? The occasional something else entirely??) so they don’t really get old, in part because I seriously canNOT emphasize enough how much I BARELY listen to music to begin with, and in part because everything on this 3 hour 20 minute playlist I associate with something that made me really, really happy!!

also I know some of the Nats have been publicly Yikes but it would drive me nuts to have an incomplete list and my feelings on sports figures ultimately don’t matter, what does is the 2019 World Series brought me a lot of joy, so I’ve made my peace with that and yeah !!

aah i love your art, and liro's an absolute darling! i hope it's not too much trouble that i ask but how did you get so good at visualizing canine anatomy? i always have trouble making anatomy look convincing, they seem to always look one dimensional and flat. thank you and have a nice day!

Well, I was lucky enough to grow up with dogs all around me (my first neighbourhood was inhabited by many German Shepherd Dog enthusiasts, including my parents), so I’ve spent a huge portion of my life observing their body structure and movements. I may not know all of the dog anatomy tips and tricks whatsoever but I’ve developed a strong sense of knowing what ~*~looks~*~ right and what does not. On top of that I’ve had a ton of repetitive practice.

I bet anybody can get better at doggo anatomy though. Genuine interest in learning all about your drawing subject goes far. Most of those Really Damn Good Artists that I know of use references and do regular life drawing sessions, so those two things are another key to effective learning (it should also help your brain to understand perspective and forms better! You mentioned that your dogs look “flat”, I’m by no means a professional and haven’t seen your drawings so I don’t know for sure but that to me sounds like you could benefit from practicing forms and perspective?).

What would a dream bug type team look like for Liro?

I'm not sure I'd be able to answer this without comic spoilers or my own personal biases BUT I do have ONE answer and that is Cutiefly!

Why is it a good idea to be a multishipper in the Voltron Fandom part 1 - Lance edition

First of all, that way you won’t ever be called an anti, you will never spread ship hate and would be able to get more friends in the fandom! What’s not to love about that?

As a multishipper, you can also see the potential in various pairings, can get ideas about the characters interacting with each other and you’re able to enjoy so much content from splendid artists! 

We can all ship romantically, but platonic shipping is great too! Hell, you can headcanon all characters as aromantics and asexuals or polyamory and that will be great too! There is no limitation to one's imagination and all is fair in creating your own view of the characters when it’s for your own enjoyment without hurting others.

So if you’re thinking about the appeal of each pairing, here is a quick guide to them, where I just state what I adore about each pairing and what makes me see them as a great combination. I write about romance, because that’s my cup of tea, but as stated above: this can be entirely platonic as well. The order is random, but I’m starting with my two favorites being together, Pidge and Lance <3 

Plance/Pidgance

Imagine two meme lords, who will rule the galaxy with their sass and jokes, while being best friends. Imagine Lance falling for someone who isn’t conventionally feminine, the realization sneaking up on him when he already gained a friend, who he always protects and plays games with. Imagine Pidge helping Lance with his insecurities and letting him fret over her, supporting her and letting her take the lead. Imagine Lance using Pidge’s headphones to get rid of his homesickness, imagine him taking care of Pidge when she falls asleep while working late into the night. Lance cheering her up and helping her plan the next Galra infiltration to get information about her family. Imagine them bonding over their families. Imagine him bringing her coffee, listening to her tech-bable, even if he doesn’t really understand and her letting him play with her hair or helping with her beauty routine. Imagine them making strategies together, taking care of Kaltenecker, or goofing off, not caring if the others from the Voltron crew see them as childish or not.

Hance/Lunk

Two best friends, through thick and thin, that just got closer. Every friends-to-lovers trope and plotline apply here, you can take the funny happy route or the really angsty one (with a happy ending though). Think of always supporting each other, having each other back no matter the circumstances. Think of late night conversations about everything: their homes, families, future plans. Think of trust that makes them understand each other without speaking. Think of warm hugs Hunk gives and how he is always able to cheer Lance up. Think of Lance knowing when Hunk needs a pick me up and being the one who cooks for him for a change. Think of Lance helping Hunk being braver and Hunk letting Lance feel needed. Think of Lance giving Hunk piloting tips, trying his best and Hunk teaching him how to repair simple stuff, making sure Lance understand him. And through it all, we have friendly banter, inside jokes and unconditional friendship, which baffles the others.

Allurance/Lanllura

The pairing that allows the other to grow and be a better version of themselves, to mature and be more than meets the eye. Lance understanding that a lovely heart and fiery spirit is more important than beauty and falling hard not because Allura is the most stunning woman he had ever met, but because of her personality. It can take him by surprise when he thought he was over his crush after he really got to know her and witnessed her good and bad sides. Allura, on the other hand, can learn that first impressions shouldn’t dictate how you see others because there is so much more to Lance than just his goofy, flirty attitude. That he will protect his friends no matter what, that he’s insecure, that he misses his family, that he is a great, well, a great Lancer in their group. And he will learn that Allura is not a goddess, but a normal person who misses her family and friends. Lance can make her laugh and always be there for her, whether she needs someone to talk to, or just sit quietly with her. She can make him open up and ease his insecurities with her compassion. They can become great friends first, bonding over their love for the Blue Lion and they can see how similar they are in some ways.

Shance/Liro

The pairing of dreams coming true and endless potential. That feeling when your celebrity crush, the hero you look up to, becomes someone you get to know. And yeah at first you realize it was silly to crush on them but then. Then you get to know them and fall deep. And what you learn about them is more than you had ever imagined. You learn that they have nightmares, a severe case of PTSD, but they’re still trying to hide that from others and they’re not that great when it comes to self-control. You try your best to show them how good you are: first for attention, but once you got it, you just want to help and ease the weight off their shoulders. Deep down both are dorks and Shiro needs someone who will comfort him, help him through his troubles, while Lance needs to find his own footing and purpose. Shiro can help with that: his honest compliments and sweet words can brighten Lance’s day. And he can witness Lance in his quiet moments, where he just shows that he’s more than just jokes. He can learn to rely on him and that’s mindblowing, because he remembers when Lance got hurt while protecting Coran and him making that great shoot when saving Slav and he realizes that Lance is full of potential, if only given a chance. So he does.

Klance/Leith

You can love or hate this pairing and I understand if the fandom sometimes makes you loathe them. But this is a ship which allows you to insert every rivals-to-friends-to-lovers scenario and apply it to them. Take two people, seemingly with not much in common, that argue or bicker almost every time they talk. But then, when it matters, they work together seamlessly. They support each other unconditionally and are surprised themselves what a good team they are. They talk both about trivial things and about their insecurities and they find understanding without judging. When Keith needs it, Lance will be by his side, his right-hand man with advice or wisdom that surprises Keith. And when Lance is feeling down and struggles with his self-esteem, Keith will try to ease his insecurities, even though he has trouble with bonding with other people. It is something that blooms between them like a flower, growing steadily over the time they spend together. Again we get friendly banter and teasing, with a dose of friendly rivalry, but it’s laced with affection and trust.

And special mentions for two crack!ships:

Latte/Mance

I bet you that those two can bond immediately. Either because they both can fawn about Allura or swap big-brother-stories and how they both care about Pidge. Point is, they are so similar in many cases, it would be natural to see them bonding and who knows? Maybe that could turn into something less than platonic if both boys would allow it. They could be playing a game in Lance’s room, or Matt can be showing Lance how he deals with homesickness. They both could learn from each other and be (again like with Plance/Pidgance) two meme lords. And finally think about Pidge’s reaction to this ship: either jealous or really supportive. And the idea of Matt and Lance working as a tandem can make you sigh happily because they’re one hell of a power couple. 

Lancelot/Lotorance

That feeling of shipping two characters who seemingly have nothing in common, but somehow working together perfectly when paired together. We have two guys who have been always fighting to show others their worth. Lance masks his issues with flirting and jokes, Lotor is portrayed as cold and calculating. One can imagine Lotor taking a liking of Lance (much as he did in old Voltron) or imagine Lance falling for a beautiful alien yet again. Again it’s a ship full of possibilities. You want it to be dark and angsty? It is possible to imagine Lotor exploiting Lance, kidnapping him, trying to take him to his side and Lance showing him kindness and understanding. You want fluff? Make Lance the only one who will try to trust Lotor and give him a chance, even if he will keep an eye on him - it could spur a great redemption arc too. You can imagine Lotor being the one to finally see Lance’s worth and Lance being the one who finally will treat Lotor with respect that doesn’t come from fear.    

So yeah, it’s great to multiship and just have fun with your own imagination. Or if you ship just one of these pairings as your OTP, that’s cool - just don’t hate on other pairings, when they’re not your cup of tea. Because - there are many reasons for shipping characters together (as I hopefully shown on this list). Be kind to others, just that <3
