Here are all the mutant party members for Lisa: The Relentless, ig!! This is more concept art than anything but I’m just seriously glad I’m back into action for this project. I could not mimic the style of the character profiles for painful and I’m not gonna try to .

3/16 profiles down . I’m doing all 13 party members (Clint Moss + 12 other lads.) and then the main villains for each act of relentless (basically just areas.) I might post them in 4s from here on out I just thought it’d be neat if I put all the mutant party members on one post

it’s a shame what’s happening to LISA’s remaster rn because 1: sony giving it the most 4kids ridiculous censorship is like. cartoonishly baffling but also messes with the point of the game (minus the understandable changing of a couple poorly aged jokes/content)

2: it’s giving weirdo hitler particle "lisa fans/adjacents" attention over their weirdo bigoted uproars with their "the west is fallen, rpgs are ruined by woke" nonsense

just did the secret joyful ending. again, thoughts under the cut.

fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Ok, starting off - new warlord skills were neat. They really only came in handy during the superboss, but I liked having more options.

The secret hunt really only added playtime, but lowkey I think that’s a good thing. Joyful moves too fast, so stopping to smell the roses lets the experience really sink in. It’s nice.

The superboss was really fun! I was worried after hearing about how it worked, but it’s pretty well balanced all things considered. Love the music, love the new Dice and Sindy sprites.

The section in Brad’s house… fuck. It was really good. Loved the conversation between Buddy’s uncles, as well as Dusty’s severed face.

The ending itself was alright. It was poorly written (like a good bit of Joyful’s dialogue) but it conveyed what it needed to. Buddy’s relationship with Brad is super complicated and this really added layers to it. She knows he loved her, even if his methods weren’t great. She found it within herself to forgive him despite what he had done because she knew he was hurting, and had been for a long time. It’s a good way to tie in with the themes of the previous two games regarding cycles of abuse and how it can ripple outwards through others down the line.

Also, fuck Buzzo. I’m glad he got verbally annihilated by a twelve year old.

Buddy being cradled by Lisa and Brad’s mother nearly made me cry. It’s such a beautiful moment. God.

The final dialogue between Buddy and Brad after the credits adds a bit of insight into their relationship that I love. Also, the flower. God damn.

Overall, while a little poorly-written and kiiiiiiiinda heavy-handed, I liked it a lot!
