not me feeling like a failure bc the crackheads from my hs have a 4.0 gpa AND go to a more difficult college

#opened facebook to clear notifs and the FIRST thing i saw was a dude i KNOW was addicted to all kinds of shit posting his grades #w a 3.98 average gpa #listen i know ur worth doesn't equate to your gpa but i forgot just how awful it feels to see people have the same achievements as you #with like 1/10th of the effort #im sure mr. crackhead struggles w some things (like crack) but this isnt abt him anymore #just like. the rich pretty chicks at school getting 4.0s while u dry heave in the bathroom bc u only got a 3 on an ap test #and your mom was already giving u shit for how much it costed #GOD high school was fucking awful #college is too like lets be real #i think i might just take online classes for the rest of the time lol i like it better when i can pretend that like #grades are a result of hard work and not a result of circumstances #it doesn't help that my parents are so removed from the education system that they don't know what anything means #other than the unimportant stuff #like i got a 5 on an ap test once and i was SO proud and they were just like 'just a 5? why not a 6' #and i told them 5 was the highest u could get and they were like 'oh. cool' LIKE THEY WERE IRRITATED I COULDN'T GETBHIGHER THAN A 5 HELLO?? #academia as an aesthetic is cool but irl it fucking sucks #also like having an (almost) 4.0 is my only achievement so i guess i shouldnt be surprised i feel invalidated so easily #once again wishing i was rich
