after the other shenkos ever so cruelly reminded me of the shared "are you flirting with me?" line shep and kaidan have in me3, i just need to cover my favorite things about it.
so there are like, two main flavors of shenko, right. the trilogy romance run and the me3 romance run. the "are you flirting with me?" line takes on different meanings with each one, and they're both so good.
with a previously romanced kaidan, it's funny because it takes on more of a silly "haha let's pretend we're new at this" joke. like "oh, we have to start from the beginning again, looks like we're back to basic flirting LOL". i know people say this line makes more sense with an unromanced kaidan, but i do really love the idea of it being a goof between the two of them as their relationship recovers.
while unromanced, you've got kaidan, who's been pining since me1, but has been dealing with commander "i'm married to my job. also i died and joined cerberus" shepard. and kaidan's genuinely just so fucking flabbergasted at the mere notion that 1. this seems to truly be the shepard he remembers and has feelings for, 2. that shepard might be into him and 3. that shepard is possibly flirting with him. and then once shepard repeats the "are you flirting with me?" line later, its a mix of this confidence boost, and the "fuck it, the world is ending" mentality that finally leads to kaidan flirting way more obviously and eventually deciding to take his shot. i love it. and like others have said, this could become an inside joke as well.
delicious. im eating the shenko parallels off the fucking floor as we speak. yum.

Spock needed comfort, not that he said it. Bones isn't easy to fool, though. SO it a blanket, plushy and hot beverage situation!

Out of character, Etoiles recognizes Kristin's laugh because he heard it so much at Twitchcon Paris.
In character, he recognizes her voice because Lady Death is never too far away, especially during battle, and Etoiles can always hear her delighted laughter as he's tearing through enemies.

thinking about the easy boyish stance of edward cullen, sitting next to a heavily bandaged bella in her hospital room, his elbows propped on her bed, chin resting on his hands, while they argue about her state of mortality and she asks him "where does that leave us", and he semi-lightheartedly replies "i believe it's called an impasse" as he internally falls apart and knows his days with her are numbered

Husk is alone at the bar when Alastor decides to pay him a visit.
"I see business is going rather slow today, old pal."
And even though ever since Alastors warning the Radio Demon has not so much as acknowledged his previous threat or even treated Husk any different than before, the cat demon cannot help but stiffen up. Yet he succeeds in not letting anything show in his expression as he mixes his boss a drink (a 'Cocktail à la Louisiane').
"Well, I don't exactly have a lot of potential costumers."
He gets a laughing track and a short laugh from his boss as an answer.
Alastor takes the drink he is given but does not sit down.
After a few sips from his cocktail, the Radio Demon allows for his smile to become just a tad bit genuine.
He has got to hand it to his own personal cat demon, he really does know how to make it just right.
"See, Husker" and he puts on emphasis on the name he had given him. He had always found it amusing that the cat demon had decided to call himself 'Husk' because he saw himself as the 'husk of the man I used to be'. 'Husker' was much more fitting in Alastors opinion. It suited his 'pets' more cat like features much more after all while still keeping true to the original name.
"things don't have to be so .. unpleasant between us."
'As long as you behave.' is left unsaid.
He reaches out to ruffle the fur on the top of Husks head in a manner that is both condescending and fond.
Feeling satisfied with Husks lack of negative reaction to the petting, he tells him how he has much to take care of today and leaves.
