Currently writing this at 2am (so it's gonna be shit probs) while listening to the Sweeney Todd soundtrack so this is HEAVILY based on 'Ah, Miss', enjoy!!

Summary: Lucifer spots a gorgeous person singing at one of the windows in the Vees tower and is enamored. He will steal you.

Warnings: Yandere-ish??, No Y/N usage, not many other things, my shitty writing, no uses of gender (not really a warning but whatever)

Lucifer had seen every corner and crack of both hell and heaven, he had seen the world form and had helped in creating the creatures and earth, he had seen the beauties of earth and the heavens. But never the beauties of the people.

After all, he was punished with ruling hell for all eternity, so he only saw the worst in people, so it's quite apparent that he did not like sinners. Well until he saw a stunning sinner staring longingly out of a window.

A window of the Vees tower. He didn't care for the Vees, they were below him after all but they had you? Suddenly the Vees tower was the most gorgeous building to stare at, especially a particular window

They were... Singing? A beautiful melody floated down from the window to the cracked pavement. He couldn't even hear the lyrics but was enamoured... He hadn't heard such a beautiful voice since Lilith. Yours might even be better. He stood standing, head fully tilted to see the figure who was releasing the tune.

"Look at me, favour me with your glance" he muttered under his breath, a toothy smile spread across his pale face. The sinner looked sad?.. He wanted nothing more to be able to hold them, the complete stranger.

It had been a few weeks since he first saw you but he kept coming back, he had made himself a bench as he sat and listened to the warm song he could hear, singing about wanting out.

If only you noticed him, he'd have you out with a blink. As he continued to listen to the melody he sat carving a duck of you as he watched you sing, stroking a bird that sat in a cage next to you.

He had been staring for a bit now, forgetting about the sinners near him, the ones bleeding out near him, the ones doing worse. They didn't matter. Not when a gorgeous person like you was up there.

How he wished he was with you.

As he stared you glanced at him, turning then taking a second glance, your hand giving a small wave. A slight smile across their plush lips.

He was sure if he was alive his heart would've stopped, the blood rushed to his face as he sat like a deer in headlights, how embarrassing...

As he finally snapped out of it you had turned away, dammit. His 𝘰𝘯𝘦 chance. It didn't matter. He could easily get you out of their. He was 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘧 𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘧𝘶𝘤𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭 afterall.

Certainly, my dear ❤️ I believe I've described the premise once before, but I'll give you a little recap anyway as well as a snippet! Perhaps this will somehow help this poor fic get out of WIP hell... I know how I want it to end, but I just can't figure out whether to throw some smut in the middle or just...skip it, uncharacteristically enough... A wise reader may at this point ask, "Why don't you just write the ending first then and decide later if you feel like calling it done or if you want to add a sex scene?" Well. That's a good question. Hm. I'll have to think on that.

So, anyway, it's a human AU wherein Professor!Hob (well, lecturer, technically) holds a series of intro lectures on Literary History. A certain tall, dark mysterious stranger sits in the front row every week without fail, watching and listening very intently. Of course, Hob does his best to ignore how attractive this guy is, because god dammit he's trying to be a better person these days and hooking up with his students does not help with that. Except...is he actually a student...? *the soundtrack in the background turns mysterious*

PART ONE

Part of the problem was that the man always sat in the front row, thus giving Hob far too good of a view of his full body, which was just as unfairly gorgeous as his face. His proclivity for the skinniest of jeans did nothing to help Hob in he Sisyphean task of keeping his eyes away, nor did the fact that he kept looking right back.

Of course, Hob was lecturing, and so it was to be expected that his students would look at him when he talked, but he also expected them to look away at least some of the time. At their notebooks or laptops as they took notes, for example, which this bloke never ever seemed to do. Sure, it was not an advanced course by any definition, and he might have a good memory, or was one of those people who preferred not to distract themselves with taking notes during lectures, instead refreshing his memory by studying at home later. Or perhaps he didn’t care about getting more than a barely passing grade for a basic course like this—except he appeared to be paying rapt attention at all times. It was likely this intense focus which made it so hard for Hob to just ignore him. He had taught plenty of good-looking people throughout his career, and it had never been a problem until now. He was quite practised at turning off the part of the brain that noticed such things, and, even when he did notice, it normally didn’t fluster him like this. The man just had a…a weight to his gaze, somehow. His pale eyes were piercing, and Hob could practically feel them boring into him even when his back was turned. He also believed that he had caught them wandering over his body every so often—lingering on his arms when he rolled his sleeves up to combat the heat of a fully packed and poorly ventilated classroom, homing in on the sliver of tummy skin exposed as he had to stretch up to turn the projector on with a pointer when the damn remote control malfunctioned again, and fixating on the hint of chest hair visible that one time he had accidentally left one too many buttons undone on his shirt. He really, really wished that he had not noticed any of this, because the only thing worse than being attracted to a student was being attracted to a student who reciprocated. Fortunately, the man had done nothing to indicate that he intended to actually make a move on Hob, which was some small consolation. In fact, many tortuous weeks passed without him saying a single a word, never raising his hand to answer one of Hob’s questions or ask one of his own, never approaching him after lectures with queries about the curriculum or the final exam, never even talking to his classmates. All he did was sit there, in the same place every time (front row, third seat from the right), silently staring at Hob while nursing a cup of coffee from Bennie’s café two buildings over. Then, every week without fail, he quietly slipped out of the room exactly five minutes before the time was up and the lecture ended, presumably to rush to some other lecture on a tight schedule. Hob could only hope that he checked the information he put up online about suggested reading and the end-of-term examination, since he never stayed to hear Hob’s reminders at the end of the lectures.

God dammit I have become obsessed with Lisa the Painful and more specifically its fandom's ability to make the HARDEST and WILDEST songs available.

I swear to god its like finding a treasure trove of this shit, its akin to finding Undertale's fan OST...thing, I dunno the technical name for it but its like its whole own genre

I SWEAR TO GOD its like CRACK, and she's not the only one up-and-coming in the Lisa fandom

Another one who has been lost to time, save for a working archive out there on discord is one legendary AdmiralHippie/SpaceHippie, who I mentioned in a previous post covering Space Station 13. His work is mostly known within the fan work Lisa the Vegaful, though he has a lot of original tracks that work just as well in a fan work If anyone is interested, I'd recommend looking up the working archive of his music, or looking DO BE AWARE THOUGH, As far as I am aware, SpaceHippie/AdmiralHippie has requested that his original works be pulled from existing fan games/not to be used, given an incident where he had wiped his youtube channel alongside his existing library from youtube, so I will not post the files of his OST out on here to respect his wishes, but I still highly recommend giving them a listen and if ya do see him out there, give him some well wishes.

A third one to keep an eye out on is another up-and-comer who posts more hip-hop-esque mixes, goes by the name of Broken Sword on youtube. His work, at least as far as I'm aware, will be showing up in Vegaful's Sample Update, which looks to update the original Lisa: The Vegaful fan game to add more animations, and act as replacements for AdmiralHippie's tracks. So far he has two albums of lisa fan music out, with the second one being posted a week ago around the time of this post. There are so many more artists out there that produce some TOP TIER shit for Lisa if you ask me, from Taitoki with his work on Lisa: The Pointless and its up-coming Monster Update (ONE SPRITE A DAY, BABY!!!), ChaCos, who's work extends into the fan-mod of Pointless known as Scholar of the Wilbur Sin (SOTWS), Baursach of Lisa: The Timeless/Lisa: The Fool fame alongside the creator of the Timeless fan game Torrington (Who had put out his own album not too long ago, GIVE IT A LISTEN, ITS HIGH QUALITY SHIT)

God I can go on and on, but the point of this Hyperfixation post is to highlight some SINCERE TALENT in this fandom, and its genuinely what keeps me as invested into Lisa as much as the official thing, and ESPECIALLY given what we've gotten out of Definitive Edition as is with Austin Jorgensen/Widdly 2 Diddly's work on the OST. Its again like rediscovering Undertale and Deltarune's weird but FASCINATINGLY GOOD underground fan genre out there

psa for anyone who didn't know me in 2017 or 2013, the Despicable Me/Minions movies are my absolute (non)guilty pleasure and I'm going to be endearingly annoying about DM4 this summer <3

ALSO I still haven't watched Rise of Gru because I fell asleep the night we got the dvd and I just haven't bothered to put it on since, but I'll probably do that this weekend since the brainrot is already setting back in 👀

Right now I'm listening to the DM3 playlist Percy (@nucifaerie) made that year with all the songs/scores in order and it's still such a vibe...the third movie holds such a place in my heart because it was the summer I first got a car, and Dori (@bitchinbeverlymarsh) and I would go to the theater every weekend to see it and then go to Toys R Us and the mall or antique shop afterward, and it was the first time we really got to do things on our own and it was such a fun experience, and we got the soundtrack on CD, which our mom ended up borrowing and it became the thing we'd all listen to in her car too, lol...I can't wait to do it all again this summer but at a much happier and peaceful place in my life than I was at that time! I'm finding myself so sentimental about so many things lately, and it's neat how a family friendly animated movie franchise can hold so many memories and love!

*gru voice* AND ANOTHER THING! - I remember how big the song "Happy" was after DM2, and the general public was so tired of it, but never me because it was the grucy song, dammit!! And at my senior prom, that song came on right as my best friend and I walked in, and I was like HECK YEAHH. And taking it back even further, the first movie came out right as I was going into high school. I was 14, and I'll be 28 now when the fourth one comes out, and that's half of my life!!! This is the movie franchise that I came into myself alongside; it saw me through the awkward teenage years, the rock bottom of early adulthood, and now into the peaceful part of adulthood where things make more sense and I kind of really love being myself and living this life I've been given.

Anyway, this was supposed to be just that first paragraph, but then the sentimentality took over. It's past midnight, and my stream of consciousness is certainly streaming!

Listen to the fans and make Jennie a villain. Trust me the reviews are gonna change OVERNIGHT who doesn't like a pretty, talented, chic villain who's snakey and a backstabber and totally power hungry and ur bestie to ur face but really just playing mind games with you?

Improve the soundtrack like ngl it's so underwhelming for a show focusing on the music industry like idk give us edgy sex music give us synth beats give us smth jay park would beg on his knees for give us 2013 emo era BTS give us a blackpink song reminiscent of sour candy give us another the weeknd and ldr collab

Give some more substance to Troye Sivan's character. Okay so he's one of Jocelyn's besties and helps her out. He's clearly more headstrong than her assistant so why don't we make him a super perceptive guy who is actively tryna hunt tedros down and like idk openly has beef with him? why dont we make him reign hell over his bestie?

Keep it risque but keep but sex scenes moderate and if not, make them uhhmmmm... not literal torture porn

STICK TO ONE DAMN THING DAMMIT or tackle each part of the plot smartly like how abt we have tedros manipulate, groom and brainwash jocelyn and isolate her from everyone else but wrap it up with a pretty, sexy, "i understand you and im just tryna help u and i really care abt u" bow and be her shoulder to cry on while she actively tries to deal with her leaked photo situation and show us flashbacks to the start of her career and her mom's death and how she deals with her mental health (other than dependency on cigs) and like have her serve the c word with some BANGING music as we do all that and like wheres the cult parts that was mentioned in the trailer? give us smth spooky and culty

Have Jocelyn's assistant WOMAN UP like i want her to be a good girl gone bad i want her to be tired of getting pushed around and i want her to lose it and cut her hair and wear an ungodly amount of eyeliner and buy a gun and drop as many f bombs as possible and go thru a rough patch with jocelyn

It would be so interesting to see Tedros try and win over Jocelyn's team like play them as well as hes playing Jocelyn but not entirely

Ugh, god damn, I’m still kinda torn up about Rooster Teeth getting closed even though I yeeted myself out of the fandom circa 2013. I literally wouldn’t write as well as I do right now if I hadn’t clung onto Tex and did so much RP as her on Twitter. Even now, I still think of the way things used to be, and I still listen to the old soundtracks. I still really love Trocadero and Jeff Williams.

I literally wouldn’t know the best friends I’ve ever had if I hadn’t gotten into Red vs Blue. Dammit, I still think the old stuff is hilarious! It molded my mind and my sense of humor.

Due to Mitsu's enjoyment of (ironic) criminal activity, she and her father tend to butt heads a LOT which would often leave them at an impasse, frequently.

Because of the strained relationship Yagami often would wonder where he had gone wrong with his parenting and how Mitsu could have preferred delinquency over being a law-abider (especially when one’s father is a detective 😂)

Occupation:

What deteriorates Mitsu and Yagami’s relationship even further is choice of career and had, unintentionally, tried to coax her doing something else as a hostess (of all things) and implied she could put away criminals instead of becoming one.

She would often feel inferior to her father especially when it comes to occupation and always hates when he woyld “coax” her into becoming a criminal lawyer when announced she had no interest of being any kind of law enforcer because she enjoys being a lawbreaker

Hobbies:

Whilst Yagami passionately disapproves of Mitsu’s decision to play a part in criminal activities — he is still somewhat more pleased that she’s doing normal things a kid should be doing; like skateboarding or participating with robotics club

However his disapproval escalates dramatically after finding out that Mitsu had become the leader of biker gang and started a faction called “Swiftback Drifters” — technically undoing his hard work of disbanding death races

Fighting:

Unlike Yagami Mitsu tends to deliberately get into fights for the sake of fighting and would often be the one to start it on purpose and would always let her emotions get the best of her (even so far as to kill someone) to prove to people how “strong” she is

She’d even go as far as to doing cage fights to earn extra cash and would often fight dirty to make it happen which often lead a argument between both father and daughter about what was ethical etc

Kaito:

Mitsu considers Kaito as her "uncle"; and would always look up to him — more than her actual father, if she had something to say about it (but then again that’s because they were opposites sides of the law and not in a prosecutor way 😂)

Despite the tension between father and daughter; Kaito also points out the positive traits of Mitsu and how she's more like Yagami than she actually thinks (both in choice of attire and mannerisms)

And that, of course, her father, as a detective, would be against anything lawless and that it would make sense why they would be at impasse a lot, which would often make her pissed off — before giving Kaito the silent treatment (for like a day or two)

AU:

Jun:

Jun is the closest thing to a "cousin", to Mitsu despite there being 15 years between them — putting him at 30 y/o —. He can both protect her and give her very good advice and never fails to support her specifically when she trashes her father behind his back (so pretty similar to Kaito or at least tries to be 😂)

Amasawa:

Mitsu deeply resents Amasawa — as any sister would — and would often make snarky comments like how she was technically the daughter Yagami would have had because of their common interest in mystery and detective work

However Mitsu would either be ignored or is acknowledged — bluntly — by Ansawa and that the former would have been the “ideal daughter” if she wasn’t into criminal activity and that she should have known better — what with being a daughter of a detective and a law-abider (etc)

Kozakura (OC):

Despite Mitsu’s hostile relationship with Kozakura (most of the time and if there’s an audience) outside of that; she does seem to have a soft spot for her younger sister and isn’t afraid to “teach” her tormentors a lesson and offers to teach her some self defence skills.

Daniel takes Sam’s advice more and more often now that he’s dead.

And it’s not like he was avoiding Sam’s advice when he was alive. It just felt so much sillier then, so much more … absurd. The two of them both felt sad a lot – for different reasons that, when you boiled them down, were really just the same. Sam said that sometimes, when the memories became too much for him, he’d lie down in bed with all the doors and windows closed and just listen to music. Daniel asked him what song he listened to, but he should have known better.

You listen to yourself, and you know, he said.

Daniel always thought that was ridiculous. Sam would always get all philosophical about the power of music. It wasn’t like Daniel didn’t enjoy music, too. He still never drives with the radio turned off, not even when he’s headed to an unfamiliar destination. It’s that he didn’t think everybody had a song in their heart. Life’s not a musical, no matter how hard Sam tried to make it one.

Of course, now that he’s gone, Daniel wants the music back.

He didn’t realize how many of his most treasured memories had soundtracks until Sam wasn’t around to find the music. Sam was the music supervisor for Daniel’s life – for everyone’s lives. He played “Stay up Late” at the hospital when Michael, Daniel and Sadie’s first son, was born. When the family moved into their new home, even before Sadie told anyone she was pregnant with Billy, Sam played “Homeward Bound” to welcome them there. Hell, even when Daniel had his last wisdom tooth yanked out, Sam was there, singing “How Do You Do” by Mouth & MacNeal.

Get it, Daniel? he asked as Daniel fought to keep his eyes open. Mouth? Like your mouth? And MacNeal, like … well, actually, I don’t have a pun for that, but I guarantee I’ll have one worked out by the time you pee out all the laughing gas. Is that where it goes? Pee?

Daniel’s chest burns, but he laughs, anyway. He’s not sure he should be laughing at a time like this. Doesn’t matter. Not to memories of Sam. And better to laugh at memories of Sam than to cry at memories of his now-dead father, who didn’t care to know him, anyway.

Which brings him here. Now. Alone in his room.

He’s not sure how long it’s been since he got the call about Frank. An hour? Maybe two? Rosemary left the TV on in the den again, even though Sadie rounded up the kids and took them to dinner so Daniel could be alone. He’s heard two reruns of Star Trek play out, so it must be two hours now. It doesn’t matter. He doesn’t want to move.

But he takes Sam’s advice. And he puts on the first record he thinks of before lying back down on his bed, thinking.

I am just a poor boy, though my story’s seldom told …

Daniel closes his eyes. It’s no surprise he chose “The Boxer.” It’s what he needs. After years of kicking himself, thinking surely it was his fault Frank left them – surely it was his fault for being born when Frank so clearly had other plans – he’s grown exhausted. Looking for love in places where he knew he wouldn’t get it. Trying so hard to look indifferent. Trying so hard to trust people when all he wanted to do was shove the world in a shoebox under his bed. But he never did. In all that time, Daniel’s barely even wobbled. His father’s death is not a relief. It’s just … different.

He will keep fighting. And he will lie-la-lie his way through it.
