the last hxh update was honestly kind of a flop like tell me why we had to wait 4 years for 10 chapters & then half of them were flashbacks of the fuckass phantom troupe as ugly children who were apparently the theater kids of the garbage dump (on brand it must be said) when we could've gotten idk anything else?? there was not a single kurapika panel which was the most egregious sin. and speaking of kurapika if we're doing flashbacks then I want one of him post massacre but pre series, I want to see how he dealt with the destruction of his entire world at age 13 & I want to know where he went & what he did. I don't CARE about the troupes backstory I don't care that their ugly friend got beheaded. is that supposed to explain why they're all pure evil bc it really doesn't

#i like the troupe as villains (well. some of them. ily shal 💔) but i couldnt give less of a shit abt their dinky backstory #honestly the only ones i like are shal & the ladies & kalluto . the ugly men & most especially chrollo can die i was so disappointed when #hisoka didnt kill him during their fight . literally the let down of all time i want him dead. i want to hear the lamentations of his fans #who are all my mortal enemies especially if they also are into THAT ship .#has there ever been a worse ship in anything ever . i dont think so. and yet!#anyways i need to reread DC arc from the beginning. but i might wait until its announced that new chaps r coming out #if that ever happens. lol

Quickie Yandere Chrollo, Feitan and Hisoka Valentine's Day Headcanons

notes: yandere, (mostly) kidnapped reader scenario, abusive relationships, Feitan is mean :(

How some of the yandere Phantom Troupe would treat their captive darling on Valentine's Day:

Chrollo

Irritatingly loving on Valentine's Day. It's the day for lovers, after all, and he wants it to go perfectly. He would ask you what you would like to do, and if you're being amicable, he would grant it as best he could.

You'll wake up to flowers and chocolates or your favorite treat on the table, and then it's off to do whatever you want for the day.

You want a fancy restaurant date? Tell him the cuisine and he'll set it up. You want to visit a local zoo and take a stroll? He'll get your walking shoes out. You'd love to see a movie? Cuddling up together with popcorn in the dark is just fine by him, he'll even rent out the screen so you're totally alone.

But nothing comes for free with Chrollo. If he treats you, he expects you to treat him. That means you'll be loving and sweet; you'll not only let him kiss you but kiss him back; and the evening will naturally end in the bedroom, where you'll allow him to indulge in your body until you're positively weeping.

A fair trade, in his mind.

Feitan

He doesn't acknowledge it on his own. He probably doesn't even realize what day it is, it's not something he celebrates. If he happens to check a calendar and see that it's "Valentine's Day," he might briefly think about the fact that he has someone he might consider a "lover," however unwilling, but the idea of a romantic gesture doesn't cross his radar. It's not something he enjoys doing, even with you.

If you dare to ask what he's going to do for Valentine's Day or actually suggest that he does get you something or that the two of you could celebrate, he'll either:

Ignore you entirely and simply not do anything, then act like you're irritating if you bring it up

Fuck with you by giving you something mean, like a literal heart cut out from one of his victims or a pretty ring with the finger still attached.

If your feelings are genuinely hurt, and you've been with him a long time, and you seemingly wanted to have a romantic evening with him and he didn't do it... he might actually feel a twinge of something akin to guilt. Maybe it's more like irritation with himself for the lost opportunity to see another side of you.

But he'd wait weeks before doing something nice (which, with Feitan, isn't saying much) so you don't connect the two situations.

Hisoka

Unless there have been some truly extenuating circumstances, Hisoka isn't going to kidnap you like most members of the Phantom Troupe might.

It's not that you're not bound to him. Oh, no. You can't escape Hisoka no matter where you go. But he's not keen on keeping you at his side at all times, nor does he have the patience to indulge in setting up some base where you'll be kept most of the time like others might do.

Valentine's Day can go many ways with Hisoka. It all depends on his mood and the way the wind is blowing his whims towards you.

He might show up in the morning and expect you to indulge in a flashy, sappy, ridiculously over the top celebration with him. It seems insincere, in some ways, but so much of what he does feels like a performance.

He'll drag you on some generic date, his hands on you the entire time. Make sure to stick close by--don't give him an excuse to bring out Bungee Gum, dear. But he wouldn't spend too much time outside your apartment. He wants to get you back there for plenty of that other activity couples indulge in on Valentine's Day. It's only when you're home, alone together, that he feels more like himself.

Or he might not stop by at all. But since he never announces himself, you'll spend the whole day on edge, wondering if he'll pop in to make your life miserable on Valentine's Day. You can't tell if it's relief or disappointment or a mixture of both in your gut when you go to sleep without ever having seen him.

it doesn't take much?? not most people's definition of 'much', at least.

for chrollo, overhearing you talk about him (whether it be on the phone or you haven't noticed him standing there yet) gives him pause. it's in instances like these that people reveal their true colors. he's confident in his ability to read you, sure, but hearing your unfiltered thoughts out loud? that's an opportunity he'd kill for. metaphorically and literally. he waits with bated breath, almost embarrassed by his anticipation. you'd think he was a school girl eavesdropping on her crush. and when he hears you not only call him handsome, but emphasize just how much you enjoy your discussions with him? those very discussions that he cherishes dearly? he smiles without realizing it. faced with death, his heart remains steady. faced with anything related to you, it can't slow down.

gojo is, to the surprise of no one, kinda weird. you could huskily whisper the naughtiest line into his ear — he'd just grin and flirt back. he gets so caught up in outdoing you that he forgets to feel embarrassed. want to leave him speechless and knock the air from his lungs? it's surprisingly simple. steal one of his shirts, wear it as your PJs, then doze off waiting for him to return home. he secretly feels bad that his work hours are so erratic. he'll tell you not to stay up for him, but that doesn't mean he isn't touched when you try. the idea of you sitting there, fighting to stay awake because you want to spend time with him? cupid's arrow couldn't compare to the emotions that makes him experience. this, along with the added bonus of his too large shirt engulfing your form does him in. gojo takes enough pictures to necessitate buying additional cloud storage.

for scaramouche..................... just be nice to him without ulterior motives. that's it. no, really. he can't comprehend kindness. he understands transactions, where anything done for the sake of another is still ultimately for one's own benefit. this cynicism has helped him navigate fatui politics yet impedes any personal growth. brew him his favorite bitter tea, organize his belongings, gift him a homemade trinket; he'll flitter through multiple emotions. suspicion, confusion, then, finally, this warm sensation in his supposedly hollow chest that he can't find a word for. this little act haunts him. he can't stop obsessing over it. he wants to find proof that you're like every other wretched, self-serving creature in this world — (or does he?) — but his investigation proves unsuccessful. confronted by this undeniable reality, he's left to wrestle with the implications. you're genuinely thoughtful (ew) and most egregious of all, he likes it (ew x2). this is going to be his undoing, isn't it...?

blade is similarly simple. you needn't jump through hoops of fire to get his obstinate heart pounding. as for what does him in most effectively — your greetings. it's why he shows up unannounced. you'll freeze, giving him a once over, eyebrows cutely scrunching together as your brain puts two and two together. then stars twinkle in your eyes. you glow with the radiance of a thousand suns, running at him, your arms outstretched and legs keen on jumping. he catches you with ease. he's grateful that your face is buried into his chest. otherwise, you'd spot how the tip of his ears go red. what has he ever done to deserve such an enthusiastic welcome? nothing, as far as he's concerned. he doesn't deserve it, doesn't deserve you, yet here you are, excitedly rambling in his arms over his return. he'll say he just happened to be in the star system and decided to stop by. don't believe him. he traveled across the universe for you.

so the younger boy just watches from afar

to say your family wasn't pleased would be an understatement

especially Illumi

the Zoldycks typically don't do -ships...like friendSHIPS or relationSHIPS so Chrollo pining for you is definitely an issue

and when two of your brothers end up joining the troupe after you

let's just say Chrollo isn't having the best time.

Kalluto is a lot less aggressive or opinionated on the matter than his eldest brother, but he still isn't fond of the idea of you ending up with the leader of the phantom troupe

he finds ways to draw your attention away from Chrollo

whereas Illumi isn't so passive

if he catches the head of the spiders so much as glancing at you he's going to stand in his line of vision with a stern "Stay away from my sibling."

and just to keep things easy on himself Chrollo heeds these warnings

well..until he's able to catch you alone

you guys are gonna have to date on the dl and be SERIOUSLY sneaky

dating while coming from a family of assassins is not an easy feat

to be honest, illumi probably knew you were going to try to drug him before you even did it. it wouldn’t be the first time someone has tried to exact revenge on illumi, so just by default he’s pretty vigilant with that stuff.

i also don’t think he’d have a big reaction. he’d smell or taste the drink you gave him as inconspicuously as possible, then casually be like, “did you poison this?” no suspicion, no anger, just like he genuinely wants to know.

he wouldn’t be pleased, but he wouldn’t let you know that. he’ll just behave like nothing’s changed. then, when you least expect it, he’ll brainwash you with nen into still thinking he’s treating you like an angel, and illumi will make sure you stay with him in the end.

however, a few minutes after hisoka takes a sip, he’ll notice himself fading in and out of consciousness- you had used the strongest oral sedative you knew of that wouldn’t kill him and dissolved it in the drink.

hisoka will soon realize you drugged him, and the change in your aura will be obvious now- a lot more menacing. he’ll actually be pretty impressed- he’d thought he’d had you under his thumb. he’s not displeased at all- you’ll be a fun rival to have.

i feel like he might drink it anyway, just because he was curious to see if you were able to successfully drug him. it’s more than likely you weren’t, though.

chrollo would ask why you felt the need to try and drug him, because he genuinely would not see why. good and bad aren’t as clear as they should be to him (something like pariston). you obviously drugged him because he’d treated you cruelly your entire relationship, but he just doesn’t see that. after that incident, chrollo would probably act like nothing happened because he literally just isn’t bothered by it.

Like no accounts, no database or anything about them, and the more Shalnark tries to investigate them the more obssesed he becomes and kind of develops a crush?

Shalnark x gn!reader - no digital footprints?

Shalnark tried using the hunter website but it was to no avail. For some reason, the person that Chrollo requested to be investigated didn't show up on any records. They didn't have a job that perhaps could lead them? No. Did they have a birth certificate? No. He was convinced that this could mean one thing: you're from Meteor City.

He took it upon himself to ask about you from various people in Meteor City when he went back. He knew his chances were limited in finding good info since the population was massive, but you were well-known enough by a handful of people that he was able to locate you. You were working at a hospital in the city, just on the outskirts which helped you hide yourself from the general population

Chrollo likely took an interest in you after finding out about your ability. He wasn't interested in taking it, no he couldn't find himself doing that to a fellow citizen without them first being convinced it was for the better good of the city (strange morals, but oh well). Because of this, he wanted Shalnark to approach you first (not only was he more advanced at technology, but he was also outgoing and could attract people easily)

Shalnark spotted you while you were off on a break and took it upon himself to chat with you. It went smoothly, the two of you talking about the city and how different it is from when you two were kids. He managed to get your phone number, which was going by a different name (probably stolen from a mafia member a while ago) and used that to talk to you.

He doesn't like the idea of having to personally investigate you, he would rather read documents and articles but Chrollo wanted this to be done. Shalnark thought he would be exhausted by the end of his first day talking to you, but he found himself excited to meet you tomorrow. With that, he decided he would see what happens

Shalnark will likely start falling for you after a few weeks. He isn't really a hopeless romantic, so he was confused when he first started obsessing over little details about you. "No, I'm just doing my job" he might think, but in reality he was starting to get invested in the little relationship you two started

He would visit the hospital more often, sometimes talking about things other than your nen ability and even going around the city just for leisure. Sometimes Shalnark would forget why he was talking to you in the first place. This brings in a dilemma for him since he knows this is just for a job, but perhaps he really likes you for who you are. So far, you've been kind to him, and you two share a lot of similar interests.

Finally when the time comes to have Chrollo meet you, Shalnark doesn't break the news that he's part of the troupe. He's proud of his job, but he doesn't know if you feel the same way, and this for some reason causes him to be afraid that you might stop talking to him. It might take him a while to open up about his job, but what he knows for sure is that the outcome of his little mission wasn't what he expected.

Chrollo might find this kind of funny. He doesn't mind Shalnark developing a crush (probably saw it coming too). Shalnark would ramble about things unrelated to the mission sometimes when giving details to Chrollo, which hinted a lot at the crush. Would Chrollo try convincing you to ask Shalnark out? Maybe.

He wouldn’t be surprised. Basically anybody can pick him up. It doesn’t take a lot of effort to pick him up.

He wouldn’t even mind that his daughter is picking him up at the end of the day. It’s easier for him he doesn’t have to walk not like he gets annoyed with having to walk or anything like that it’s just easier for him

“good job you can carry me!”

“I’m pretty light though if you want a real challenge try picking up Bonolenov or Nobunaga they are heavier than me I mean it’s pretty clear that they are no offence to them but I am way shorter so it’s pretty obvious😅”

Franklin-

“How?”

“I am very confused on how you are picking me up”

“all right I think it’s time for you to put me down before I end up crushing you on accident. Your mother would kill me if that happened and I’m not really trying to die, so put me down immediately”

He would be really surprised and he wouldn’t even be thinking about the fact that his daughter is way stronger than she last Was he would be thinking about the fact that if he was worth to accidentally fall on his daughter his s/o would beat him so bad (lmao poor boy)

what do you think about all the Chrollo x reader stories that are always yandere. I personally feel like it’s too ooc for him. I agree he’s very dark and I guess you could say ‘evil’ to an extent, but I can’t understand why he’d treat his s/o like how ‘yanderes’ do. Wouldn’t he treat his s/o like family like he does the troupe? Idgi 🥲

lmao i think no matter what universe you put chrollo in hes yandere. i also think no matter what universe you put him in chrollo isn’t a rapist.

yandere basically means that someone is sick with love— and will do anything to have their love fulfilled. i always think about yukako yamagashi from jjba. girl will do anything to get with koichi.

and i think that because of chrollo’s belief in fate (that he must both bend to the will of and write his own) makes him the perfect yandere. he thinks that he can make you fall in love with him no matter what he does.

but you’re right, in he isn’t a yandere that’s going to kidnap you and lock you up. instead, he’s going to spend days months years courting you until you’re in so deep he can throw the key into the ocean. he loves the thrill of the chase. his eye is on the prize but he can wait it out. watching you slowly fall into his trap, watching you willing fall into his trap provides him with all the satisfaction in the world. (think of a spider weaving a web around the most beautiful butterfly he’s ever seen with no thoughts other than: pretty. want for myself.)

he wants true love. he wants to believe in love in first sight. he also believes in nudging true love to happen. giving it a helpful little push. an object in motion stays in motion, after all.

Author’s note: I have written little about "X character x reader" so sorry if I don't do it right, additionally English is not my mother tongue so there may be mistakes

You really weren't a fan of going out to parties, let alone going to evening events, you would have preferred a thousand times to stay at the hotel watching TV and order fast food.

However, you had to help Shalnark's cover to gather information about moving high-value objects from the black market.

You literally couldn't even contradict Chrollo, so now you were looking at fixing your dress and combing your hair pretty.

You looked in the mirror, you did not look bad, you were very pretty, the red dress fit everything beautiful about your body, plus you usually only combed your hair the first way you could think of, now it was more ornate and shiny, at least in image the mission would be a success.

Then you thought about your companion, you did your best to avoid interacting with Shalnark, you had a somewhat complicated relationship lately, but the situation was already given.

"Well, can we leave yet?" Asked Shalnark entering your room

"What if she was naked? at least you could call the door” you say annoyed

"You're very funny," added the blonde standing next to you in the mirror fixing his tie "Don't you lack makeup?"

"I really don't know how-to put-on makeup" You commented embarrassedly

"I can try" he offered eloquently.

“I'm not a children's blackboard”

"Oh, Y/N, you even offend with the comment" Said Shalnark feigning sadness, "Sit on one side of the bed, I'll do the rest."

You didn't really trust him for this, but nothing worse could happen and you were curious to see how he could put on makeup.

You closed your eyes and felt the brushes on your face, also his thumbs making some corrections.

"I think it went well" He passed the mirror to you with a smile

"Wow, you have your talents hidden, apparently" You smiled at him after seeing your reflection, it wasn't bad at all, really.

"The lipstick is missing," he added, looking in the makeup cartridge case.

Unlike Aloy, Magi actually has quite a bit of lore!

The phantom troupe is no stranger to working with people outside the troupe (from Hisoka after he left to Illumi being hired by Chrollo) So it’s no surprise when one of their newest temporary ally’s is an illusive man by the name of Magi, also sometimes referred to the Magician (not to be mistaken with Hisoka who is a magician)

Magi commits very simple crimes. He robs, he kills and he’ll do just about anything for a good price, and he does it well too. But he’s also a bit of a pain in the ass as he’s known to only really take offers if it interests him, no matter how high the payment. And the troupe, interests him.

I don’t really have much going on during this stale kinda area of his lore but like him and Phinks were friends in their early 20s after working together but some things happened and they stopped talking. Then skip some time and it’s somewhere pre-York New arc. Phinks and Magi run into eachother as a bar and they both look very very different. Magi had lost his arms in the most literal sense. He bit off more then he could chew and now he has two nen controlled prosthetic arms. He’s also much more relaxed now.

The two catch up and eventually find themselves dating because I’m insane and this is my blog and I do what I want!!

genuinely a curious question, how would the smiling man feel towards you (yandere) would he want to hurt you? hurt others you like romantically? try to win you over?

I went with this, bear with me, ‘non.

I think the smiling man would be an interesting yandere case, since I don't think he would ever have--in his mind--the idea of a "traditional relationship" with you.

He's this otherworldly entity, this thing, and while he certainly seems to enjoy a lot of human activities (the man loves pancakes and seems to genuinely enjoy his carnival, horrific trap that it is aside) I don't think he views the idea of relationships in the same way even a character like Chrollo from HunterxHunter would.

For me, I think the idea of him being yandere would start with someone who either beats him or rejects his offer. It peaks his interest, since it's not normally done. He doesn't like being beat, and it makes him want to win over you. So he tries again. You evade him, again.

He decides he has to have you. At first, "have" means, well, what it means for anyone else. He has your soul, essentially. Trapped and used up. Or he wants to condemn you to some terrible fate, like his plan to trap Ollie & co behind the mirror in the icy ghostly lodge. Because you beat him or reject him and really, how dare you??

After a while though, he wonders. Maybe he'd just like to keep you. As a trophy. A reminder that you, silly human, thought you could beat him and didn't. Or maybe... and the thought occurs to him as he meets you again, perhaps as he watches you in your daily life (do you keep looking over your shoulder at night because of him? How funny) that there's something more he wants from you.

But what?

He'll have to get you to find out, he supposes. It's not often things intrigue him, old as he is, powerful as he is, reaching as he is. But you do.

And if he gets you (and he certainly will) then perhaps things shift further. Sort of like what happens with Ollie in Empty Smiles. He won the initial game he set out to win, and then it's... "Huh. What now."

He does put on the veneer of being gentlemen-like, in many ways. So perhaps once you're trapped, he decides to converse with you. And having you here, with nothing to do but talk to him and obey whatever whims he sets out, makes him even more interested in you.

He might find that he likes to talk with you. He might find that he wants you near him. He might find that he would enjoy other interactions, too... sitting with you, playing chess, something more, eventually?

Re: Violence.

He's very... hands-off when it comes to violence. Oh, he doesn't mind it at all. It can be quite entertaining and useful. He might use it to get you in the first place, but he's not going to hurt you himself or anything like that. Nor is there need for violence once you're on the other side of the mist.

I feel like he would try to “woo” a reader, maybe not literally romantically, but through the appearance of kindness and

He would threaten others if he needed to get to you, and I don't think he'd have a problem with going through with it. "I don't save people from their own stupidity," as he said in Empty Smiles, and in a roundabout way, he would view you rejecting him as putting people in harm's way deliberately. It's your stupidity that got them hurt, not him.

IT HAS BEEN 22 YEARS SINCE CHROLLO WAS FIRST REVEALED IN THE MANGA... 23 SINCE HE WAS FIRST MENTIONED... AND FINALLY........ WE ARE GETTING HIS BACKSTORY . all in god’s (togashi’s) timing. i literally couldn’t believe my eyes when i woke up to baby chrollo on the tl wednesday morning. i’m just now getting the time to scribble down all my thoughts that have been haunting me since then. is any of what i’m about to say coherent? probably not. i’m just so excited that i can barely put it into words. like. how am i supposed to function. i sure don’t know. i’ll put all my screaming + rough analysis under the read more then summarize what new things we learned about chrollo and the phantom troupe. idk how to format this so i’m sorry for anyone who braves the abyss below. anyways , without further ado ...

nobunaga frames the flashback with the statement “fueled by despair and anger, we were searching for a purpose...” which more of less confirms the widely accepted notion that the phantom troupe was formed to give these people something to do. after reading that, i was expecting to go into some depressing stuff right away, but instead we get to see the baby phantom troupe members kinda roughhousing each other? acting like lil rascals. so i’m assuming nobunaga’s statement comes into play a bit later.

the spiders seem to have been split up into smaller cliques before they eventually formed together, these groups being chrollo/franklin/shalnark (HIS LIL MISSING TOOTH OH MY GOD), machi/uvo, and phinks/feitan.

this more altruistic viewpoint further convinces me that something major must’ve happened for chrollo’s worldview to shift so drastically. here and throughout the rest of the chapter, we can see him championing the cause of sharing knowledge with others around his age instead of hoarding it. this immediately sets him apart from the uvo/machi and phinks/feitan cliques who want to keep anything remotely valuable to themselves. Hmm.

i could be wrong, but the architecture of this church having crosses + pews seems reminiscent of the abrahamic religions, leaning more toward catholicism perhaps? this must play into chrollo’s fascination with catholic aesthetics in his adulthood. it seems that compared to the rest of meteor city, this church was somewhat of a safe haven.

NGL it’s kinda funny little baby chrollo looked @ phinks and uvo and went hm. yeah those dudes are definitely not the church crowd. baby chrollo being able to teach himself various languages just from watching tapes that everyone else his age finds too boring to sit through though... he’s always been a little genius. interestingly enough, the compliments on his intellect never seemed to have gotten to his head? he always took them in such a good-natured way. he seemed like such a kind boy... meteor city’s elders mention how bright he is in the next page too. i wonder what they expected from little chrollo though?

“perhaps he could be of use to the elders? you think he may be able to solve the problems plaguing the city...”

very curious to know if they meant now or when he’s older. anyway, the elders took an interest in him from a young age, only for chrollo to completely disregard them when he became an adult (chrollo stealing one of their abilities for his fight against hisoka).

i’m in ABSOLUTE agony. while this interaction is so cute, i can’t help but think about how paku prioritized chrollo’s life despite his philosophy that ‘the head of the spider [himself] can always be replaced’, which lead to her own death 🙁 OUCH OUCH IT HURTS... her care for chrollo and the troupe ran so deep. now we get to kinda see why. chrollo so brazenly telling paku that he loves her when it’s very likely she’s rarely (if at all) heard those words growing up in a place like meteor city......................... ah...........AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
