I guess maybe, just maybe, I see myself in Robin.

How people see Robin as boring, lazy, lethargic, etc... is how I see myself. That's why I created characters that are capable of literally anything financially and supernaturally to protect and provide for Robin. Remember I said I don't know how to love or be loved? I guess deep down, I just want to be protected, like how Lya and Lyah are so devoted to their Robins.

It's just a "me" thing to care for "less-interested" characters. I'm not saying Robin is not loved by many, but their contents clearly are not as attractive as Kylar's yandere trope or Whitney's tsundere trope. And somehow that is perfect for me. I tend to love characters like that, like Xinyan from Genshin, Totter from Arknight, Shouzu (Onmyoji), etc... I love them with such a motherly love it's almost embarrassing to admit. My friends often call me "mother chicken" every time I introduce my new bias to them.

And if I remember correctly, I used to play DoL since maybe 2020 or something? I don't know, long before I stepped foot here, and I was so dumb at it my PC at that time was miserable, even more than Lya in her newbie period. I got bored and quit after, maybe, 3 days.

Time skip. 2023. I saw Gulugulu's post about the game and I suddenly remembered it. Ye, long story short, I started playing because of Robin, and now I'm in deep LOL.

Since he’s the most popular streamer out of the friend group (Xiao, Scaramouche, Aether, Venti, Zhongli, Albedo, and Kazuha), he’s more liable to hacker attacks.. what people don’t know is that he’s a hacker himself.

Like an actual hacker.

He doesn’t use this to hack games, no, he’s got a sense of reason, he uses it to annoy the shit out of people and protect himself and friends.

His background is.. not entirely known, but here he is now! A streamer who’s been at it for close to seven years now.

He gained popularity quickly from his looks alone, but his chaotic persona certainly attracts another demographic as well.

He’s insanely good at games, preferring to play multi-player just so he can obliterate his opponents and tea bag them. He’s the king of games like Valorant, Apex, and League of Legends, streams where he’s playing those games are LOUD. He’s constantly seething and screaming.

Adores destroying Scaramouche in games especially, but they’re one hell of a team if they team up.

Idk why but most "this is why Kaeya has dark skin" theories make my skin itch. Like if hoyo makes one canon and the implications aren't horrible then okay but why can't ppl assume kaeya's homeland had more than one skin tone? Like...? That is the easiest answer until proven untrue. Why are we crafting theories around this 😭 No one is out here scouring the genshin text for why sumeru characters are pale. There are so many more interesting things about Kaeya's character to theorize about. Also doesn't the first Fatui Harbinger come from the same place and have around the same skin tone???

anon ur so real i think people obsess over it too much sometimes. on one hand i guess its because hoyoverse basically makes everyone white by default and that includes all the other khaenri'ahn characters we've seen, so, oh, kaeya MUST have a different heritage too– but youre so right that theres cooler stuff to theorize about when it comes to him lmao. and also khaenri'ah having people w multiple skin tones isnt even a difficult conclusion to reach? like even if you use hoyoverse logic (everyone white save for 1% of world population) bc khaenri'ah literally attracted people from all across teyvat. also about pierro (fatui harbinger) im not actually sure, but it sure looked like it in that design reveal for all the harbingers. while we're on the topic the fact that everyone immediately jumped at the headcanon that he MUST be kaeya's father just because 1) khaenri'ahn 2) dark skinned pissed me off a little lolll the hc seems to have died down now but. yeah. annoyed me a bit. interesting concept but gets boring with repetition

listen, he can be really handsome. 😭 and the fact that he's canonically handsome (WITH GOOD FASHION TASTE) makes so much sense. i don't like him as much as i used to, but i definitely still giggle whenever he comes up on screen.

keigo takami | hawks (my hero acadamia)

his new haircut in the later seasons had me screaming. 10/10. i made my mha oc have a canon celebrity crush on him, because yes.

shoto todoroki (my hero acadamia)

when i first started watching my hero acadamia, i actually had a crush on katsuki bakugo (which.. i will not explain, nor will i discuss why on this list), but eventually, i came to realize that i loved boys who were more responsible and aloof. todoroki is actually one of the love interests i've been contemplating to introduce to my mha oc.

tōru oikawa (haikyū!!)

i swear, he was like every haikyū!! girls' first love (it was either him, kageyama, tsukishima, or kenma), and no, i do not like him anymore. >:p

ushijima wakatoshi (haikyū!!)

honestly, he has moments that make my heart pound. the "my cute fiancé" work i did make me like him a little bit more. he was the first haikyū!! character i thought of when asked the question, "who would think their s/o's stomach chub is cute?" [next to that would be bokuto kōtarō and osamu miya, of course. (kita shinsuke and keiji akaashi, too!!)]. i still like ushijima, but just below kita and iwaizumi.

i don't think i have to explain, but i will anyway. something that wins me over is a man who would definitely win my family's heart after the first meeting and is God-fearing. gracefully enough, i have a headcanon where kita is both. also, i think my entire brand speaks for itself as to whether or not i still like kita. HIS NOM-NOMABLE CHEEKS.

iwaizumi hajime (haikyū!!)

i've always sympathized with iwaizumi since his best friend was someone so popular with the girls, while he kinda just idly stands by. i gradually grew more attracted to him because the thought of him being jokingly aggressive with his friends, but kind and soft to me, was so heart-melting. so yes, i most definitely still like him.

atsumu miya + osamu miya (haikyū!!)

right off the bat, i disliked atsumu. his personality irked me a bit, and.. his ha aai ii iiir rrr.. but i eventually grew to like him because i found this trope cute: whereas atsumu would have a lot of fans, but only pay attention to your cheers. also, may i just mention his TIMESKIP HAIR. THE SIDE SWEEP. I SCREAMED.

i started liking osamu after this one scene of him looking unintentionally cute, then when i saw his timeskip job, i thought about him cooking food for me. AAAAAAA domestic fluff >>>!! and the fact that i wanted to study culinary to become a baker furthermore had me tripping over /the/ osamu miya. i'd love it if while osamu owned a restaurant, i could own a bakery, and our shops would be close to each other. (,,> ꇴ <,,)—!!

toge inumaki (jujutsu kaisen)

i'm ignoring the fact that i literally reblogged a "missing inumaki hours" post a few hours ago. yes, i still like him!! he's just so super adorable, and the headcanon of him learning sign language makes me so soft and AAAAAA!! i'd feed him all the tuna mayo onigiris i could make.

Ok now that I’ve seen the Sumeru trailer and can actually judge the new content properly (cough, judging too early from leaks is never a good idea, cough), it seems like having a child model for Kusanali is kind of necessary and enhances the narrative, if I’m right about this. Obviously the skin color is probably still an issue (I don’t really want to speak over the actual people who are supposed to be represented but that seems like the general consensus), but her being a child is not.

Unlike the other archons, the people of Sumeru seem to treat Kusanali as a mascot or a funny little girl instead of a revered god. Stuff like making sure “the birthday girl” is happy shows how they respect her, but not in the way that the other nations respect their archon. I mean I can’t really see the people of Inazuma celebrating Ei’s birthday and calling her “the special birthday girl”, right?

The sages too, it’s really clear that they see her as incapable of ruling and have ruled the nation for the past 500 years instead of letting her grow into the position. The whole point is that Kusanali is seen as an incapable replacement for the former Dendro Archon, even if she is 500 years old. Because with how things seem, she’s probably been locked up in the palace they mentioned in the livestream instead of being allowed to make her own decisions. So yeah, she might as well still be a little kid.

Anyways, how does this relate to her design? I’ve seen some people say they could’ve just given her the teen girl model, but like, that defeats the whole point. We’ve seen that model used for many capable characters, from teenagers (Fischl, Barbara) to adults (Keqing, Ganyu, Hu Tao, Kuki Shinobu, Ayaka). Especially with the nebulous ages of Genshin characters, if you see a teenage girl model character, the usual assumption is that they’re probably an older teenager or a young adult who’s pretty capable of doing stuff.

The point is, seeing the nation treat this very capable looking teenager/young adult like a child would be kind of weird. It would’ve been fine, I guess, but it doesn’t have the impact of “oh that god is a kid why is she a god” as much as using the child model would bring. With the child model, it’s understandable why the sages might think she’s incompetent. I mean, even the entire Genshin fandom pretty much agreed the moment she was leaked that she wasn’t suited to be the archon cuz she had a kid model. “How can a kid be an Archon?” “Why is she a literal baby?” “Why does she have a less impressive design than the other Archons?” yeah that’s the point. She’s supposed to look odd and incapable and unfitting of an archon cuz that’s what everyone thinks of her.

Also, to the argument that using the child model is loli-baiting, it really isn’t. There is an actual point to using it in the narrative instead of just appealing to messed up people. I get that you usually want to assume the worst in gacha games, but honestly, if Mihoyo wanted to make more money, they could literally just make her a hot woman with huge boobs or like a super hot tall guy instead of appealing to the weirdos and would probably earn more profit than making her a kid anyways. Just look at Raiden’s banner.

(Personally, I think some people are just mad they can’t sexualize or simp for another archon. Like, there’s a reason why a whole horde of people wanted Al-Haitham, the conventionally attractive tall-male-model character, to turn out to be the actual Dendro Archon for some reason instead of literally anyone else. But whatever that’s just my own theory.)

I genuinely think ayato would be very in favor of keeping your relationship a secret, at least for a little while. He knows being in the public eye can be… overwhelming for many, himself included, and he wouldn’t dare push that onto you. He just wants… everything in its place for lack of a better term, before you announce you’re dating.

Though despite the fact he literally suggested you keep your relationship a secret… he’ll openly flirt, and tease with you in public. All the time. I’m front of people. Important people. And then also thoma and ayaka, but they don’t care (ayaka will 100% tease her brother though!)

Definitely has thought to himself “don’t hold their hand, the leader of the kujou clan is right there. Don’t do it.” Because I do believe ayato has his… clingy moments. Listen he just wants to love, and he often times shows that live through small gestures like holding your hand. If he does hold your hand out of habit though, he’ll play it off as nothing, a… friendly gesture if you will.

So much affection in private, oh my god. Imagine this, you come home late at night after a long day of meetings and surprisingly ayato is finished with his work, waiting for you in your shared room reading a book. Instantly he will pull you under the covers with him and just… lay there. You won’t move for a while unfortunately.

Likes having your presence just..: near him. At all times. It he can’t kiss you on your boba date (which looks like a simple, friendly outing to many) then he’ll have you near him at least throughout the rest of your day.

Kazuha doesn’t… get it… really. Why do you want to hide your relationship? I mean yes it’s nice having this sorta “secret” between the two of you… alright. He’ll agree.

He honestly has a very easy time with this. He’s not a huge fan of pda, opting for mostly a kiss on the cheek, the back of your hand, or just holding your hand (if you were open about your relationship that is), so he’s just kinda… hanging out.

I like to headcanon that a lot of people like kazuha. He’s an attractive guy, and is easy to get along with, so many people either casually strike up conversation with him, which could lead to flirting depending on the person. He has almost said “oh this is my s/o” every time.

Writes you into a lot of his poems, and when he publishes them everyone’s like “yo??? Who’s this beautiful person the author is talking about???” Obviously it’s you. It’s a silent way for kazuha to say publicly that he loves you without anyone knowing.

Talks about you to his closest friends. They’re the only ones that know, and they’re sworn to secrecy, and they don’t ever stop hearing about you. KAZUHA HAS TO SHOW HIS LOVE SOMEHOW OKAY LET THE MAN HAVE THIS.

Genshin Thought Dump Chapter 1- The Traveler Exposed:

Y’all are so obsessed with the upcoming Sumeru region and juicy Harbinger and Khaenri’ah lore (don’t get me wrong, I’m SUPER stoked too, I be aroace and squishing with aesthetic attraction on Columbina and “Sir Panties” Pantalone~) but are we all gonna ignore the fact that the Traveler is WAY too suspicious for everyone to be simply overlooking right now?

I knew really nothing about them beyond the fact that I decided to slap autism and mild depression and anxiety on Aether and Lumine, and the headcanon I made that Aether was secretly a numbers and statistics nerd/enthusiast and HATED when people didn’t depict data or draw graphs correctly in a way that was understandable (kinda self-projecting here, modern AU he’d be one of the smartest software programming interns/students, please don’t kill me Genshin community /hj).

There are MANY posts theorizing about the full lore of Genshin, and many posts predicting that even AFTER the game is finished, there will still be a shit ton of hidden lore that we’ve yet to decipher and piece together because HoYoverse devs are just like that, y’know? Making everything a painstaking and yet fun and engaging mystery to solve so we can feel like the Sherlock of Gacha Fantasy RPGs.

There’s people theorizing that Kaeya is of royal Khaenri’ah blood and is descended from the Eclipse Dynasty that ruled the kingdom at the time of its downfall, there’s people saying that Paimon is the Unknown God (personal objection there, I think Paimon IS a god/otherworldly/supercelestial being but not the god that sealed the twins’s powers, captured Lumine and yeeted Aether to a beach in Mondstadt 500 years after the Cataclysm and the world basically ‘resetting’ itself, more on my theory compiled from many, many, MANY sources about Paimon’s true identity for a later post) and then there’s people asking about what’s TRULY at the foot of Decarabian’s Tower and why we can’t explore it (which is an incredibly valid and good question, why can’t we?)

But honestly, spoiler alert- the Traveler is NOT who they seem to be… nor are the twins, for that matter. Think I’m wrong, and want to show me evidence of the fact that the main character is ‘weak as hell’ by showing me how they got clapped by Baal and Scara-douche?

Well, in the opening scene in the beta version, it EXPLICITLY states that both Traveler’s powers were sealed away and that Aether was cast down by the Sustainer of Heavenly Principles, placed into a torturous slumber for 500 years before he woke up after the Cataclysm.

I will repeat that: The traveler we see ingame is in a weakened and diminished state. They are LITERALLY, simply put, interdimensional UNIVERSE AND TIMELINE HOPPING aliens with swords and wings, and they are the personification of stars- CELESTIAL BODIES.

Oh, and might I add that their wings look VERY similar to the Primordial One’s wings on the Sal Vingandyr mural? They bear resemblance to the literal PROGENITOR GOD of Teyvat.

The Primordial One is to Teyvat what Sothis is to Fodlan- a nigh-omnipotent and almighty progenitor and creator god. Do you REALLY think that the Traveler is THAT weak and insignificant with their FORCIBLY SEALED power that they harbor within? Yeah, I don’t think so.

Another detail on the Traveler’s outfit is that both Aether and Lumine have accents on their outfit that glow, and that glow changes color based on what element we wield- turquoise for anemo, gold/amber for geo, and a violet purple for electro. However, in the opening cutscene, what do we see?

A white glow on the accents.

White, the color most associated with purity, divinity and ascension to a higher state of being, as well as the heavens. White- the color of all the ROYGBIV colors on the spectrum combined with one another before being filtered through a prism- and what else bears resemblance to the colors of split prismic light that combine to form the Traveler’s white glowing light on their accents?

Anemo, Geo, Electro, Dendro, Hydro, Pyro, Cryo.

Look, hey, listen: I KNOW you think I’m crazy. I can hear your screaming at me through the screen right now, but just PLEASE bear with me. You think the big-brain moment compiled from several theorists AND my own findings end here?

Keep reading. I’m going to blow up your fucking brains. And this is only Part 1.

Let’s jump from the topic of the traveler to the Hypostasis boss in Genshin. Seems random at first, right? Yes- at first these rubix-cube looking asses don’t have that much meaning to the game besides dropping ascension materials and the pyro one being annoying as fuck without a hydro character to diminish its shields quickly (*chuckles in Tartaglia haver*).

However, if you paid any attention in the beginning to the NAMES of the bosses because you were curious like I was, you’ll notice that they all have specific codenames assigned to them.

Those aren’t any ordinary codenames, though. If you look closely, you’ll notice a pattern.

They’re in Hebrew. The wiki literally stated it and proceeded to blow up my tiny brain- I’m not joking.

The codenames are the letters of the Hebrew alphabet, which instantly give it religious connotations because Hebrew is said to be the holy language and scripture of the Hebrew Bible, or in more historically accurate terms endowed with the appropriately distributed nomenclature, the Tanakh- the first five books compiled to compose The Old Testament of the Bible.

The first letter of the Hebrew alphabet is Aleph, a codename given to the Electro Hypostasis by HoYoverse.

Beth, the second letter, is given as a codename to the Anemo Hypostasis, followed by Gimel for the Geo Hypostasis, Daleth for the Cryo Hypostasis, He for the Hydro Hypostasis, and so on and so forth.

Then along comes the fucking Pyro Hypostasis, codenamed Ayin. The 16th letter in the Hebrew Alphabet.

“Why, Starry?” I hear you asking. “Why did the writers at HoYoverse straight up jump the line from 5 to 16?”

The truth is… I don’t truly know, either. Current evidence points to such a decision being a completely randomized and arbitrary preferential decision on HoYoverse’s part- maybe they thought that the name merely sounded more suitable for a hellfire rubix cube? Or it could be representative of the legend of Prometheus and his flame from all the way back in Greek Mythology?

With that out of the way, why do I bring up letters of the Hebrew Alphabet, much less them being the codenames of the Hypostases? Well, we all know that it’s common knowledge that the archons of Genshin are actually named after the demons of the Ars Goetia, a tome on demonology compiled in the seventeenth century discussing demons affiliated with all Monotheistic religions of Abrahamic origin (Morax being Zhongli’s goetic title, Barbatos being Venti’s goetic title, Beelzebul being Ei’s goetic title and Baal being Makoto’s goetic title, et cetera- I’ve a high suspicion that Mobius is going to be the Dendro Archon Kusanali’s goetic title).

And you know how the theory exists that slimes are representative of the abilities of the original seven archons (the tHICC shields of both Zhongli and the geo slime, the ability of both Venti and the anemo slime to float and propel themselves into the air, the existence of TWO types of electro slimes since the position of Electro Archon was held by the twin gods Makoto and Ei up until Makoto’s death during the Cataclysm/Fall of Khaenri’ah, etc etc).

And you ALSO know that in the Adventurer’s Handbook provided to us it states that both slimes and hypostases are pure elemental lifeforms/entities?

I think the connection between slime and archon also applies to hypostasis and archon, and that the connection between the two go WAY deeper than we think. There are actually TWO parallels that define this theory: the parallels within the Ars Goetia and the Tanakh itself, and the ingame connections subtly displayed within the narrative of the archons and the design choices of the hypostases.

In the actual game, if you look at the model for a hypostasis, you will notice something very odd (and slightly terrifying in my opinion) about the anemo, geo and electro hypostases: they all have cracks within them, as well as bits and pieces floating around them: as if they are being eroded at. Erosion… hm, where have we heard this before?

When Zhongli talks about it and how his friends literally went mad because of it, and in the scenes where Ei states that she actively takes desperate measures to avoid erosion and stave off its effects for as long as possible. Hell, SCARAMOUCHE THE BALLADEER HIMSELF is a product of her efforts, as well as the Raiden Shogun puppet body, tying in to reinforce Ei’s divine ideal of eternity.

Since Venti and Zhongli are the oldest archons, and Ei is the same generation because she is twin sisters with Makoto, they are all undergoing the process of erosion, whereas the dendro, pyro, hydro and cryo archons are replacing the original seven and are therefore relatively young (save for the cryo archon because she witnessed the Cataclysm and is DEEPLY traumatized for it) and therefore, their hypostases are left undamaged and clean.

If you want to prove me wrong by saying how the hypostases had NO significant role in the story unlike the archons, I’ll tell you that the juicier lore hides in plain sight in the sidequests. For example, why is there a dead ‘twin’ electro rubix cube in a region of Inazuma near the damaged/tainted roots of the Sacred Sakura? And why is it so representative of Makoto’s death during the Cataclysm 500 years ago?

Well, wow, phooey. That’s TOTALLY not too coincidental to be a coincidence at ALL!

Speaking of which, where did the inspiration for a hypostasis even come from? The creators actually stated themselves that the inspiration for both the attacks and designs of a hypostasis came heavily from Ramiel from Neon Genesis Evangelion, who looks VERY similar to the diamond shape of the exposed core of a hypostasis, might I add?

Ramiel is also literally an angel. And it is there that there are already SO many red flags.

Couple that with how in the version of the Ars Goetia by Thomas Rudd, it is a grimoire on both angelology AND demonology. The Lesser Key of Solomon in this edition pairs the 72 goetic demons up with the 72 angels of Shem HaMephorash. Oh, and with the fact that if you look at a Hypostasis’s attacks, they have the SAME sigils in some attacks at angels and demons in the Ars Goetia have.

“What’s the point of explaining all of this uselessly trivial compiled knowledge to us, Starry?” I hear you questioning me ever so inquisitively and ever so curiously, firmly doubtful and skeptical, eager for me to simply get to the point.

The Hypostases could be, whether it be literally or symbolically, the ‘angel’ counterparts to the goetic demons- the gods, the Seven Archons, of Genshin.

Already that explains their significant connection of all the traits that I’ve listed previously- and it is because of those snippets of evidence TOO deliberate to ignore that I am a FIRM believer in the slime and archon connection theory, AND the hypostasis to archon connection theory. They coexist akin to two sides of the same coin- opposite but not separate by any means.

But wait- that’s not all. Ohohoho, no no no, my friends: I have more.

Remember my previous analogy of the description of how prismic light can be filtered back into white light by merging the different wavelengths, alternatively spectrums, back together again? And remember how in the opening cutscene, we see a WHITE glow on the accents of Lumine’s and Aether’s outfits that literally change colors based on what elements they possess ingame?

Once again- coincidence? I think not, and color me calling you a skeptic if you think otherwise because we already know by this point that HoYoverse never does coincidences. The theme of ‘combining’ items or symbols of great power or significance is a constant theme throughout this theory.

Going back to the real life parallel- when the 72 names of the angels are combined with one another, it becomes a 72 letter-long name serving as the “true and explicit name of God”, which is what Shem HaMephorash and the Tetragrammaton is a version of. According to the gods and demonology wiki, if those who are pure and worthy enough to speak the true name of God do so, they gain access to nigh-omnipotence and become an immortal, godlike being with dominion over all aspects of existence itself. Y’know, like the Triforce, except with the judgment of the Sorting Hat “as it doth require”.

I think you know where I’m going by now with the Genshin equivalent of ‘saying the true name of God’: what if the Harbingers are trying to collect all the Gnoses of the archons so they can form the ultimate artifact of power to challenge and take down Celestia? The Gnoses are not the symbol of an archon’s/god’s raw power, rather they and Visions themselves are gifts bestowed upon mortals and archons by Celestia- which is already megasus™ in and of itself and is probably best reserved to be discussed in a future theory of its own. If the Fatui have discerned that the only way to topple the Second Throne of The Heavens that usurped The Primordial One, forged the lie to alter history and cast The Primordial One down from the heavens after defeating it, both that and the conclusion would make a helluva lot of sense- at least to me.

What greater enemy can exist to Celestia than its own power turned against it by mortals- human beings? Retribution upon The Second Who Came, from its own divine essence, by the progeny of The Primordial One themselves?

Oh, and going back once again to the white light prism analogy connected to the seven elements, when the Traveler still possesses a white light on the accents of their clothes, they wield a foreign element NOT of Teyvat- a cosmic, holy or divine element, if you will, symbolized by a color oft representing purity and divinity: white.

Speaking of which, you know what the legend of the twins remind me of besides their Greek counterparts? That’s right if you guessed correctly: Adam and Eve.

The FIRST two children of God.

Aether and Lumine are directly related to The Primordial One, the progenitor of Teyvat and its universe. My personal interpretation is speculation and my imagination running wild from here: I believe Aether and Lumine could be the direct children of The Primordial One, and therefore, as they are divine beings hailing from The First Throne of the Heavens, Celestia (The Second Who Came) feared their power so much that the Sustainer had to seal their powers away and separate the twins instead of outright killing them- implying they are hilariously incapable of doing the latter no matter the effort.

And here, to those that still don’t believe me I present to you the final nail in the coffin: what is the Traveler’s ascension gem at their final ascension phase? Brilliant Diamond. And what does the Brilliant Diamond resemble?

A PRIMOGEM. RESEMBLING A STAR- DIRECTLY TIED INTO ONE OF THE MANY SYMBOLS OF KHAENRI’AH, THE ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS OF TEYVAT AND THE FIRST WHO CAME.

Too sus to be just a mere coincidence, if you ask me.

I've seen it stated many times before but it really is interesting how with corporations and companies actively interacting with not only their fan base but their FANDOM the separation between fan and member of fandom becomes more apparent.

And not in a snobbery way, just in a it's so interesting to see nonfandom complain about core aspects of fandom and claim it ruins a media piece even though the fandom in question has no direct impact upon the media.

For instance, look at non fandom genshin impact players who will sit there and scream about how people just ship every character and sexualise them - and then will fall for sexualised marketing and then mention how cute/attractive they find certain characters. Like my friends the company sexualises the characters they did that before they had a fan base, YOU pay into it, you are showing them the sexualised characters SELL that is not a fandom issue that is a player issue. And shipping literally does not hurt nonfandom. You ignore it, people can see whatever they want in a text and even within fandom you just block and ignore. It is not difficult to experience media without interacting with a fandom.

But its so interesting to see how corporate deciding to publicly engage has created this idea that fandom directly influences media?

Rockstar Games (UK) have had community polls and such for years with their playerbase. That directly effects the media because they respond to direct feedback.

If fandom could actually alter media we could use Voltron as an example, Klance would have been endgame, Shieth would have been endgame etc because those two ships had a subsect of ridiculous fans who actively threatened the producers and creators in order to get what THEY wanted as so-called representatives of their division of the fandom.

But it didn't, and the fandom actively tried/tries to distance itself from that group of people.

A few of the many genres of characters I've encountered over the years (some overlap included)

Favorite characters

Exactly what it sounds like. Of everyone in this piece of media, this character or group of characters is my blorbo. A couple of my favorite characters are Gohan from Dragon Ball and Kakashi from Naruto.

Comfort characters

As the name suggests, these are the characters that I go to for comfort. A lot of people seem to view their comfort characters romantically, but with exceptions, I tend to view them in a more familial way. A couple of these characters are Chihiro Fujisaki from Danganronpa and Vivi from Final Fantasy 9.

Crushes

It might be an asexuality thing, but I've only really had 4 characters that I would say I've had a real crush on. Said characters, in order of when I was into them, are Machine Ghost from Skylanders, Geno Sans from the Undertale AU Aftertale, Sakura Ogami from Danganronpa, and Xiao from Genshin Impact. That being said, though, I have definitely noticed a couple types...

You're attractive, but...

Characters that I DO think are attractive, but don't consider full-on crushes. Seems to include about 7 of every 10 twinks with baggage and about 9 of every 10 women with muscles.

Squishes

Basically a platonic crush. For some reason or another, I want this character to be my friend. The first example I can think of right now is Itto from Genshin Impact.

Love-hate relationship

I have a lot of thoughts on this character. I don't exactly dislike them, but I'm not always a big fan of them either. Ultimately, I want good things for characters in this category, but I'm also really tired of their BS. Examples include Nagito Komaeda from Danganronpa, Childe from Genshin Impact, and most iterations of Karai.

GO TO THERAPY OH MY GOD

This character has been through a lot of horrible shit, and therefore, I am deeply concerned about their mental and emotional well-being. Oftentimes, this character will show strong signs of PTSD or some other trauma-induced disorder, but the writers usually won't get that deep into it. Examples include Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy 7, Last Ronin Mikey, and honestly, about half the cast of Danganronpa.

Fight me @ Dennys

Characters I would not hesitate to throw hands with in a Dennys parking lot at 3 AM, typically on sight. I always hate these characters, but I also feel like I could take them in hand-to-hand combat. Examples include Tsumugi Shirogane from Danganronpa and Heather Duke from Heathers.

I want to study you

Exact traits may vary, but for some reason, this is always a male character whose morality ranges from kinda ambiguous to straight-up evil that I might or might not actually like, but definitely want to study under a microscope. Sometimes (the Oni from Dead By Daylight), I just find the character interesting; sometimes (Kokichi Oma), their actions played a large role in the plot, and I want to understand the character better because of that. And sometimes (Hiroto from The Last Ronin), it's a case of, "You are a horrible person and I really don't like you, but GOD DAMN IT, that's literally the best villain monolog scene I've ever read."

Childhood friends

I loved the media these characters are from as a young child, so when I go to that same piece of media now, it feels a little bit like hanging out with an old friend. Examples include Spyro the Dragon and most good-aligned TMNT characters, especially the Turtles themselves.

ADOPT ME PLEASE

Usually directed at groups of characters rather than just 1. Basically, I want to be part of whatever family unit these characters are part of. Yes, found families are included with this. Examples include the Dreemurr family from Undertale, the Chain from Linked Universe (more specifically Time, and by proxy Malon), and Aizawa from MHA.

PROTECC DA CHILD

This is a child character that has probably been through some shit (though not always). Regardless, I feel very protective of this character. Examples include, but are not limited to, Eri from MHA, Marlene and Denzel from Final Fantasy 7, and all of the Warriors of Hope except for Monaca.

Give me the adoption papers STAT

I want to adopt this character as my own. Oddly enough, the only human character in this category is Gonta Gokuhara from Danganronpa. The rest are various animals and fantasy creatures.

The "Adopt, Don't Shop" PSA

An escaped lab experiment that I want to befriend. The name of this category is inspired by a post I made a while ago. Examples include Shadow the Hedgehog, Izuru Kamakura, and Mewtwo, among other, debatably less edgy characters.

Sleep paralysis demon

Something about this character deeply unsettles me. Maybe they just look creepy (Sonic.EXE), maybe it's something they did (Junko Enoshima), maybe it's something I associate them with (2012 Shredder). Either way, this character represents bad things in my mind somehow.

Blorbo by association

I really like this character. This character also reminds me very much of another character I like from a different piece of media. That other character is probably dead. I'm pretty sure these things are all connected. Examples include Razor from Genshin Impact and Eri from Pokémon.

HONORABLE MENTION: stray cats

I can't tell if I want this character as a friend or if I feel bonded to them like a stray cat who can't be adopted separately. The only character in general I feel this for is Future Trunks, but it's a specific enough emotion that I felt like it was worth mentioning.
