bessie (my parents' cat) has been living w us for almost a year now and though she was quite a happy cat when we got her she's notably so much more at ease now and it makes me want to cry. when we first took her home she didn't want to be picked up at all and now she'll meow at me or walk inbetween my legs until I hold her. if I put her down too fast she'll start the entire process again. she was a bit scared of hands at first but now that fear is gone entirely. she even allowed me to kiss her on her head for the first time this week!!! seeing how much my parents' love has changed her even though she's an older cat (around 8 years old now) melts my heart. I love her so much

One thing that has been helping us get through these hard times is our cat. He's been super affectionate lately and everytime he nuzzles me or snuggles with me I feel all my worry and stress melt away. Cats are literally the best dude, it's indescribable.
