In UK love island, there was a dumping last year where the couple voted least compatible by the public would have to decide between themselves of who would stay and who would go (or they could go together, obviously). I want to see that discussion between an MC and her partner where they're already falling in love and making that type of decision (and hopefully, deciding to leave together). I was thinking Bruno, Jake or Bobby would be good for this since they'd straight up tell her she's staying and they're going, but entirely the writer's choice as I'm curious about how this would go with all the characters, official LIs or not.

Okay, so the team really loved this ask, and it has given us plenty to talk about ... maybe more than we bargained for lol

So, we're doing a couple of different characters for this one, but Suzi had a great idea where we also go through the LI's and make a post about what they would do in this scenario. WHAT a night of talking this lead too 🤣

So you can expect to see a couple of prompts inspired by this scenario in the future, but for right now - here's our masterlist post for the LI's 💕

❤️ SEASON ONE ❤

Jake - Insists she stays. If she insists he stay, he says, “Well then, I suppose we have reached an impasse.” With that, he takes her hand, and they will happily leave with her.

Levi - After much, much back and forth, there is still disagreement. The third most hotly debated Islander, the final verdict is: fuckboi. He's not leaving and when MC is out of the Villa, he's cracking on to Cherry.

Mason - "Well, I guess this is bye. I'll see you at the after party when I get out, yeah?"

Talia - unconditionally, they are going together. It barely needs discussed.

💜 SEASON TWO 💜

Bobby - All in agreement, he's going hand in hand with MC.

Gary - Sorry, lads, but Gary is staying. And MC is going to sit at home watching him cracking on with Lottie after she's left.

Henrik - He's offering himself up to go, allowing her to stay.

Ibrahim - You know it. You know it. Not a chance he would offer to leave. He doesn't hesitate to drop MC for Shannon, and doesn't hesitate to drop Shannon for Jo, and then doesn't hesitate to drop Jo for MC again. MC will be on that flight home first thing while he's cosying up to the next girl in line back at the Villa.

Lucas - If he liked her, he would go. Chivalrous and gentlemanly, if Lucas liked her, there would be no discussion, he would leave. He would gage her reaction as a test, if she were to follow him out, he would be ecstatic, but he wouldn't suggest it.

Noah - It's in agreement that Noah would go just to avoid having to make the choice between MC and Hope. If one girl left to go after him, he would see that as a sign to stay with her, especially if the other girl stayed behind in the Villa. However, he would be willing to wait for either of them on the outside, but mostly, this is about him avoiding having to make a choice at all. If he leaves, that choice is made for him.

Marisol - After everything, when Marisol decides that MC is the one she wants, she is sure, she is certain. If it came down to it, Marisol would walk out with MC. She wouldn't want to stay and she would be heartbroken if MC stayed, so it's a leaving together situation.

Bonus: Rocco - You're gone. You're gone. No discussion needed.

Arjun - This sweetheart would leave with MC.

Carl - Would offer to go.

Elijah - Would try and talk her into going.

Elisa - She would make the biggest case for herself to stay in existence.

Felix - Leaving together.

Jakub - Do you really think? Do you really think? This boy is staying, no ifs, ands, or buts.

Kassam - The second most hotly debated character here. We will say, in the off chance that MC has managed to bring him round, yes, this man would offer to go. He would not try to convince her to come with him, but would simply be content with letting her stay if that's what she wanted.

Bonus: Graham - Oh, yah, MC is leaving. This man is staying behind in the Villa.

💛 SEASON THREE 💛

AJ - Leaving with MC.

Bill - If he finds something he likes, he's treasuring it forever.

Camilo - Mamacita said that he's got the fuckboi energy. He would convince MC to leave and crack on with Iona without a doubt.

Harry - Absolutely livid at being put up, like an actual tantrum is happening with this kid. Would not leave.

Ciaran - Leaving hand in hand with her.

Tai - Like above, he's not going anywhere without her.

Yasmin - She would offer to go. She wouldn't want to be there without MC, and would never suggest staying in her place.

Lily - I mean, it's canon, right? It is canon that if she's on MC's route and can't be with her, she would rather go.

Rafi - Like Lily, canon that this guy would rather leave than be there without MC if on her route.

🧡 SEASON FOUR 🧡

Angie - Leaving together.

Bruno - Hand in hand.

James - No doubts.

Najuma - No hesitation.

Tom - No looking back.

Will - MC is gone. Will is still around, to go on and couple up with partner number six.

Oliver - He's offering to leave, not even thinking about asking her to come with him.

Youcef - He would walk. Like Lucas, he would view it as a test of his and MC's relationship. He's pretty insecure about his feelings for her/

Bonus: Kobi - Leaving with her. Yes, yes, I hear you - Lexi. He let her go, but the situation was vastly different, and if it had been one of the two of them offered up, he would offer to go, and you know Lexi would make him take it. BUT. If he was with MC, that's a whole different relationship, and he would be mostly likely to walk with her.

Bonus: Hazeem - He would leave with her if he liked her. He wouldn't think about it.

Bonus: Dylan - It doesn't need to be said.

Bonus: Kelly - She's walking with MC into the sunset, off to make some cakes for them.

We already had a few picks on who to base the prompts on, but talking this list through definitely inspired it's fair share of scenarios to write out. Don't forget to look out for them!

I don't think we are ever going to get another good wlw season. The fact that they didn't give us an option to run away with Grace when the fans have been begging for it since day 1 speaks for itself. They are happy to cater to male stans, but they don't give a damn about the fruities. I give up. S7 is going to be yet another season with one female LI that you only couple with once all LIs are merged together. WLW haven't been given a single good storyline for almost three years. I don't see why I should keep doing this to myself. Ever since they fired their old writers, they have decided that LGBT girls are no longer a target group that's worth their time.

I wanna start this by saying: you are so right.

I think the last good wlw route we had was Angie and that was cause we were all begging fusebox to let her be gay because she wasn't wrote to be gay from the beginning (which was like, a fucking mistake because everyone's gaydar was through the roof when we first met her)

I don't think they are gonna change it any time soon either, I really have no hope.

and with s7 being a casa season you can TRUST we won't be seeing a gay route so soon.

I don't think the first 3 seasons are any good either. they are all disappointing when you think about it, their writing was just generally better and that kinda hides the flaws.

(prepare for a really long analysis of the seasons)

although I love Talia, I don't like how she's the only option we have in season 1. I also don't like how she's painted to be this player, heartbreaker that kinda doesn't care much for her partner or anything at all (which is also a Latina girl stereotype but I won't expand on this subject here)

on season 2, both gay routes bother me. I don't really like Marisol, but even if you do, I think you can agree that her route is pure torture. we only really can be with her after casa (which is like, the end of the season) and if you want Elisa (an even later game route) you need to do Mari's route. to me, S2 is up there as one of the worst seasons for gay players.

season 3 is when it gets better. I'm obsessed with AJ and I love how she's all about us from day one. You can pick her at the first recoupling and stay with her for the rest of the game. Yasmin is another great option if you don't like AJ's personality. and, although she's only there for the end and you need to dump your partner to be with her, Lily is yet another great character.

now, season 4 is a good season too, in my opinion. Najuma shares scenes with Bruno and James but that's an issue of the season and not particular to the gay girls. Angie's route is unique and, in my opinion, well made. the best route we had for a female LI in forever.

generally, season 5 is a mess. most routes don't make sense and that is the case for gay routes too. like, you can argue and say you like Lulu's route but I just can't feel any connection to her. she's just there and we barely talk to her. like... I don't feel her character, you know? Gabi is a mess even if you don't care she's the one who your ex cheated on you with. like, her storyline is just messy (why is she on casa with us? why is she sleeping with Dana? what is happening?) and I don't even wanna bring up Dana into this mess.

but season 6... season 6 was just NASTYYYYYY. the way they constantly made us choose between the girls? disgusting. fusebox is never seein the pearly gates of heaven for that. why the boys could fight for us but we had to say goodbye to a gay girl every other week??? weird. just weird.

so, out of 6 seasons, we had 2 that work for me when it comes to female LIs. TWO! I know the reality show is centred around straight couples but if you are going to market your game as LGBT+ inclusive you could AT LEAST try to respect that audience and write better characters and stories.

unfortunately it's fusebox and they don't give a fuck about any of their audiences. wlw routes and LIs will still be an after thought.
