ok, so the other day my partner and i were talking about characters' names, the context being "oh, some characters don't match the names they were given" and it got me thinking... what would i name the love island characters if i had that power... or what they would name themselves... it gets a little mixed, don't worry about it.

i'm doing this or all seasons, especially the ones i didn't play because... it's fun and i already don't know/care about their grace.

alright, let's begin!

gary - SOLID KYLE, and i say this as a gary stan. he looks like someone who would chug on mountain dew and post those cowboy tik toks showing off his truck. i'm sorry but if you're american you know it's true and it's undeniable. idk what the british equivalent of that is... perhaps gary LOL

ibrahim - chadwick something the third. i remember seeing someone making fun of chadwick boseman (rest in peace) because his name is so white, and by rahim's behavior and way of talking it's giving carlton from 'fresh prince of bel-air. he's a fucking chadwick and you cannot convince me otherwise.

lucas - his father would want to name him fucking archibald because they're filthy rich, but his mom knows better, so she chose lucas. i think it's perfect for him and i wouldn't change it.

henrik - a solid andreas. look at him, he's an andreas! very sweet but still nordic enough to make you wonder.

bobby - probably the day of the week he was born, because if his parents are dumb enough to name him bobby, what would stop them from naming him friday? or maybe the season he was born, spring...

jakub - his name can stay the same because he looks like a jakub, HOWEVER, he would demand everyone to call him by his nickname: white shark

rocco - fernando. and not in the way you say it in english or spanish, but in portuguese. "faer-nã-doo", he would insist because... he's a douche.

graham - a hebrew name that means lovely, so like... jeremiah, or jebediah. probably jebediah. he does not give graham, he gives "catholic mother that is a little too lost in bible lore".

arjun - because he's conceited, (i like him but that smirk is so over-the-top) rahul. every fucking raul or rahul i've ever met was a conceited jerk so... call this based off life experiences.

elijah - it's giving william, maybe willard, even wilford. definitely a nickname that leads you to believe it's william but it's every other name under the sun except for the most common.

kassam is actually perfect, the right amount of exotic vanilla that he disperses.

carl - a nerdy name that wasn't necessarily born in the 40's, so leonard. it's a solid mix between young and old for me, and that's just who carl is. leonard is leo when he's younger, then stays solid for a 30-something-yo, then it's even more solid when you get old. granted, so is carl but i hate that fucking name.

noah - ambrose. um... SHOULD I JUST MOVE ON? it's perfect for him!

felix - (my partner said "lobster" without a second thought and i thought i would share with the class) but to me he looks like a solid martin, although he tries to make a nickname like max catch on, it's not successful.

the s2 girls:

lottie - she probably has a conservative name, like anne marie but lies about it saying she was named after a witch, like piper or sybil. final name would be piper (charmed fans will get it).

hope - viola. i love it, it's simple, small and it can mean so many things depending on what language you speak. in english is a type of violin, but in portuguese it's a type of guitar, and i love that for her. she's a very musical person so that's my name for her.

marisol - she's a solid valentina, the type of name that says a lot about personality. marisol, to me, is such a whimsical name. it doesn't say "intelligent, brave, bold", it says "i sell flowers by the road and wear a dress made out of hemp. also i call my vagina sacred temple." and that's not what homegirl is giving, so definitely valentina.

chelsea - i just hate the name chelsea, despite thinking she looks like one, so i'm naming her summer, because bright, hot, a little out there. everyone named summer (except the girl in The O.C) is a whimsical person, and that's how i feel she is.

hannah - she's a fucking daisy.

shannon - she's giving "my parents gave me the whitest name they could think of but i use a cool nickname" so i'm naming her madison but she calls herself "mad". her parents though? "maddie!"

blake - she's a fully-blown yasmin. it's the type of name that makes you second guess everything you thought about the person because you're not sure where that name is from, or what it means, and that's how i feel about her.

priya - i actually love that name for her, and i don't have as much contact with female indian names to have that... knowledge you know? i like it, keep it.

elisa - beatrice, but she uses "bea" and the bea-hive, because branding. WHY CALLING HER A NAME THAT CANNOT BE USED AS A BRAND, S2 WRITERS???? what was your thought process???

jo - every single girl i've met that is like jo was named angela. girls that will be like "i'll tell you one thing: i don't play games and i don't engage in drama" and baby, that's all they're doing, they're playing games and portraying an angel. fucking angela.

r!hannah - her name is still daisy but she corrects people, wanting to be addressed as "daze", because she's a bad girl now and fucking unbearable.

LOVE ISLAND S2 FINALE DRESSES

Just for fun today at lunch I decided to give S2 girls a fashion update from the Finale. I liked MC, Chelsea and Hannah prom dresses but the others were seriouosly lacking in style. Lottie looked like she was wearing a fish net and Hope's dress color was lovely but didn't care for the style. Here are the girls new looks which were selected from fashionnova website. Maybe in future I'll select another fashion site and do the same. Maybe from Nookie, Jovani or Nadine Merabi. Oh, my FAV is couturecandy but pricey!!!

rahim: headcanons

(listen, i thought i had posted and queued this last year, like around june, and as it turns out it was stored in my google drive, so rahim stans, sorry about that!)

⛳ after having a discussion with @itsrealityboo we can agree the imagery of rahim with a petit dog is e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g. while the dog gives him kisses he can’t help but giggle while it happens. STOP.

⛳ i reckon he prefers apartments over houses. like @itsrealityboo said, "I think he wants luxury but doesn't want to deal with the additional upkeep that comes with a stand alone house." and it's very that.

⛳ a second bedroom converted into a closet, because you know he just has LOADS of clothes and barely repeats them.

⛳ his at-home-attire consists mostly of sweatshirts, which i love picturing in a blush pink.

⛳ during the pandemic he was getting anxious for not being able to hit the gym. however, he did go overboard to compensate for it with his online purchases.

⛳ the maintenance for his hair it’s either made by mc or himself. i really reckon he went through a lot of videos and tutorials to learn because he didn’t know how to do them before.

⛳ he was also having lots of fun learning dance tutorials on youtube, but doesn’t want anyone to know about it. REALLY HARD TO MISS THE GIANT BOY STEPPING UP AND DOWN IN THE OFFICE BUT SURE RAHIM.

⛳ zoom calls with noah and henrik. learning some recipes from bobby and talking nonsense with gary.

⛳ playing online FOR SURE, and everyone in the chat was from the villa. he loves playing team games and laugh while gary yells at bobby for the 35th time that he missed a chance to eliminate someone. “AI, CUPCAKE, PAY ATTENTION, FUCK!” all you can hear is noah sighing and rahim chuckling.

⛳ he was so bored at some point he was learning how to do magic, and when failing while showing it to his girl he would shake his head and say “it worked when i practiced in the mirror”.

⛳ his mom would make sure he’s always keeping the fridge full and he would respond with “it’s almost like you don’t know me mom.”

⛳ i reckon he talks to his mom at least once a week. not so much with his dad the more he learns about masculinity and all.

⛳ loves to surprise his girl with his cooking, and now that’s improving he likes showing off a bit.

⛳ expanding his music collection by A LOT.

⛳ expanding his reading as well, especially with manga.

⛳ and while at it he might check a few animes too.

⛳ drawing! drawing! drawing! this is an old headcanon but it’s so fitting for him. i think this is how he copes with anxiety sometimes.

⛳ so many brand deals after the show. the best way to make money during the pandemic since he couldn’t tour.

⛳ i would love to think he did a reaction video about three episodes: the one he brings shannon back, the one he chooses jo over shannon, and when he and mc get back together. i have a feeling he’s very apologetic about the whole ordeal and tries to explain himself a lot.

⛳ wine drinker. sue me, i like the thought of him drinking a glass of wine.

⛳ he might experiment a lot with his hair, and let it breathe from time to time. i honestly think he would look so good with an afro.

⛳ if he's bored you might catch him trying to solve the rubik's cube in a shorter time crunch.

Which s2 characters are into cartoons or animation related? Whether they enjoy the adult one, for kids, anime, all of the above, or none.

Well, Noah is a canon lover of cartoons (Squiddles and Homestuck)! He probably loves some nice niche ones too, and will happily read comics as well.

Then you've got Rahim who's also into cartoons and probably animation, as long as they're superhero related. Jo also seems to imply she enjoys this, which is part of the reason he likes her I think, as Shannon stated it wasn't really her thing. You know shows like Batman Beyond and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse? Yeah, those kind of cartoons are Rahim's jam.

Other than that, Carl has to be into anime, right? He just seems the type, as do Gary but not quite to the same extent (he probably just grew up watching some classics like Dragonball Z and Naruto, whereas Carl also read and watched Death Note etc.). Bobby would also for sure be low-key into cartoons, still thinking watching Pokemon over a bowl of cereal/toast is the perfect saturday morning.

I also think Hannah is a lover of some kinds of cartoons due to nostalgia, like Winx and the Barbie movies, but will pretend to have grown out of it even though she still watches it when she's feeling sad.

Other than that, I think Lucas could be a surprise one, having read and watched a few Korean cartoons/manhwa in his youth I think he could still enjoy some more adult ones now. Similarly, I think Lottie is someone who enjoys a good bit of adult cartoons/anime, especially the witchy/occult ones that you can find.

Whenever I play the eps where Elisa and Jo hit the Villa, I always think Shannon’s whole speech about how she isn’t worried about Jo is so weird.

She’s like, Jo is not gonna be able to get anywhere with Rahim because she’s too chatty and she’s not gonna be able to find enough about him to graft.

And it feels to me like she’s forgetting one unbelievably important little detail that is the fact that Jo has been watching him on tv for almost three weeks by this point. She doesn’t need him to actually talk, she already knows a lot about him to get grafting! (Which she does)

I dunno. For the girl who came in with a strong plan to bag one of the boys during Casa Amor (and she succeeds at this, even when Rahim had previously been with MC), this feels like a ridiculous oversight. At this point I don’t know if it was just false bravado or if she didn’t really take this into consideration. 🤔

Which LITG Characters Would Date a Physically Disabled Person with Very Little Explanation: Season 2 Girls

Would, no doubt:

Hope, Marisol, Shannon and Elisa - Elisa would be slower than the others, but if the other three were interested, they'd dive straight in regardless of the disability.

Might, depends on situation:

Hannah, Lottie, Priya, Chelsea and Blake - I can't tell you what it is about this bunch of girls, but I could see all of them hesitating to various degrees. Hannah would hesitate less if she's gotten over her want for a 'big strong man,' and Priya barely fits in this category, like dangerously close to not at all.

Not a chance:

Jo - has an active lifestyle and doesn't see room for a disabled person in that, even though Paralympians literally exist.
