"Daddy! Look at what I drew!" You had just finished drawing a picture of a flower that you really wanted to show Hyunjin, so you ran into the bedroom to show him the picture. He was sitting on the bed working on his laptop when you ran in and jumped on the bed. He looked up and smiled at you, putting his laptop down so you could crawl into his lap. "Look at what I did!" You pulled up your drawing and put it in front of his face. Hyunjin laughed and grabbed the paper from your hands, flipping it around so that it was upright. "You drew this princess? Wow, you're even better than I am!" You giggled as your cheeks turned pink. "Nooo daddy is much better than I am, but maybe I can be as good as you someday!"

Hyunjin thought you were absolutely adorable. The way that you got all excited about showing him your drawings and wanting him to compliment what you drew. He especially loved when you would crawl in his lap like this, when you would get all clingy towards him. He liked that you trusted him the way that you did, how comfortable you were around him."I drew it for you! You said you loved this flower right?" Hyunjin melted at how sweet you were, remembering a flower that he had pointed out at a garden the other day. He couldn't help but want to smother you in affection.

He wrapped you up in a hug as he kissed your forehead. "Thank you princess, I'll have a place in my room just for your pretty drawings." You giggled at his words, rubbing your face into his chest before you looked up at his face, pouting. "Can I see your drawings again?" You had always loved seeing Hyunjin's art and had this habit of checking his sketchbook everytime he came back home, wanting to see what he drew while he was away. "Of course baby." You squealed in excitement as you jumped out of his lap and ran to the desk where his sketchbook was. You grabbed it and ran back to the bed, rushing to to sit in Hyunjin's lap again.

You opened it to a drawing that you hadn't seen before and started to study it, running your fingers across it. Hyunjin smiled down at you as he rested his head on top of yours. He watched as you flipped through his new drawings, making little comments about how much you loved them and which one was your new favorite. "How about I fill up a sketchbook just for you, hmm? That way you can look at it anytime you want." You gasped "Really daddy? I would have an entire book with your drawings in it?!" You turned around to press little kisses all over his face as you said I love you over and over again.

When they discover they’re got a crush: By that point, she’s most likely either slept with them a couple times already, or they have a thing for her. Aside from that, she’ll usually just casually flirt with people here and there, without it really meaning much of anything. When she does develop a crush though, she doesn’t outwardly act much differently-- the only person that would probably be able to even tell, would be Felesio. Inwardly though, she’s thinking of a bunch of different methods that she could use to woo them. And about how she really wants to spoil them, but shouldn’t make it too obvious that she favors them, or it might cause trouble in Carpathia.

How they confess/hint: She kind of turns it into a little game. Playfully doing things that seem to be skirting the line of romantic, like kisses at the corner of their mouth, or holding their hand/linking arms for a little bit while they walk. Giving them a shoulder rub if they’re sore or tired. Lots of “Oh, I’m being more affectionate than usual? Isn’t that normal when you like someone, though?” types of sly comments. Eventually she’ll confess though, if the other person doesn’t cave and do it first.

Big gestures of love: Gift giving, for sure. Lots of really expensive stuff, but primarily clothes, jewelry, make up, and that sort of thing. That’s because it kind of gives her the whole sense of “claiming” the person. Like “Yeah. Uh-huh. I gave that to them. They’re wearing something that I gave them.”

Little gestures of love: Pulling the person’s head into her lap and running her fingers through their hair. Dancing with them. Singing for/with them. Will start inviting them to places with she and Fele a lot.

How to win their heart: That’s actually a hard one. The only person who has ever “won her heart”, so to speak, is Felesio. I guess there has to be a sort of balance of her having to take care of/look out for them in some ways, while they do similar for her in others? Make her laugh. Get into some of her little mischievous shenanigans with her.

How to break their heart: Try to pull her away from Fele. Treat her as less-than, or stupid.

Tiny little turn-ons: Try to defend her, even if she might not need it (one exception would be if it’s like...for her job. She doesn’t want to be made to appear weak or incapable) Buy her things, it doesn’t matter if they’re big or small. Massages.

Big turn-ons: Biting or claiming behavior-- both toward her, and allowing her to do it to them. Proclamations of love or favor. Be good with the children that she and Fele watch over.

Things that make their heart flutter: Having breakfast with her in the morning. Idly play with her hair. Letting her help them get ready in the morning, or help them wash up in the shower/bath. Singing something for her (doesn’t matter if it’s good or not, it’s the fact that they’re trying that gets her). They get along well with Fele

Their type: Himbos and bimbos, lol. Other than that though, she just likes people that-- like I said above-- she feels like she needs to protect and watch out for. Someone that she can spoil. Someone that isn’t afraid of being a little silly. And someone that will do the same with her, without making her feel like they see her as a damsel in distress type.

Ideal date: Probably something along the lines of a spa day together. And I do mean day-- she’d want them to herself for at least that long. Otherwise, a trip to the mountains in Carpathia. It’s pretty cold up there, but she likes going on hikes to the peak and taking a dip in the hot springs there. Followed up by dinner and some snuggling by the fire? Either of those would be good.

Past relationships: Aside from Felesio, whom she’s married to (Though it is for show. Their love isn’t romantic love.), she’s only ever dated two other people. Both were before she even knew Fele, and it was pretty casual.

How they might affect current relationships: The two prior relationships won’t really have much effect, honestly. It’s her relationship with Fele that will make things complex. Whoever is in a relationship with her will get pulled into the whole performance that she and Fele are putting on as Carpathia’s Paragons. And they’ll have to accept that-- even if they’re the one Jinnie loves romantically, they’ll still have to “share” her with Fele, in a lot of ways.

‘Goals’ in a relationship (marriage, kids, a house, etc): Honestly? She has no idea. Especially with her being Paragon, there’s really only so much that she feels would be feasible, after all. She’s also very go with the flow, and would just be happy having someone that loves her, and that she can love in turn. She’d love children one day, but at the same time, she does have all the kids from the orphanage that she and Fele look after, too. (Now that I think about it though, they’re expected to have at least one child together just for the simple fact that Fele is the last of his family line. They’ve been avoiding it though.)

Other love headcanons: Jinnie has always been into romance, so any relationship she’s in will have lots of grand gestures on her part. However, she never expects them in return-- that’s just one of the ways that she shows her affection, and really she just wants to see that the other is putting effort into things, as well.

This story overlaps and continues the one started in The Stolen Kingdom, and I actually had to go back and reread that book because it's been long enough since I read it that I couldn't remember who some of the characters were or how exactly it ended off. But I'm glad I did because I enjoyed it even better the second time and I'm loving this series! We learn more about why Gideon, the Jinni, was banished from his homeland, and why King Amir is so determined to take control of Arie's kingdom. It's all coming together in a very intriguing way! And Rena's arc of learning what real love is was very sweet.

The next book is a Beauty and the Beast retelling, so you know I'm excited about that!
