"-Leo is guilty and overcompensating for his cold attitude towards Three, but he still has some moments where his anger is scary."
:(
There was times were he scared his brothers when he was being angry?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I upload pretty much everything I sketch, unless it’s specifically for patreon! So I don’t really have anything, but how’s this? New sketch!
…Leo is very explosive when his Rage takes over. He’s never really hurt his brothers, but he is deadly to anyone else in his path. The most he will direct at his bros is yelling.
The worst situations are when one of them isn’t paying attention in the field, and it leads to injury. Depending on how bad it is, will determine how scary the blow up will be. Raph will take the brunt of it, shielding Mikey the best he can. By the time Donatello joins the mix, Splinter has ordered Leonardo off missions until he can get his Rage under control. But he’s nearly constantly frustrated with the fact that his anger only seems to be getting worse.
His time in the Kuroi Yuroi will be a whole other can of worms. There will be no hair string restraint holding him back. Just a being of pure fury.
Tumblr media
The bros don’t actually know about Raph’s feral mode. Seeing as he was so lonely (before meeting April), Raph has a better handle on his fear of being alone for the years in between. BUT that is going to be one of Raph’s main storylines in s3. I’m still bummed that this concept wasn’t explored more. So Raph will have pretty much forgotten about this odd little habit of his…until he’s the one taken from his brothers. Those old old fears will all come rushing back, and by the time the boys find Raph, it’s gonna be a struggle getting him home. I’m still working out the kinks, but this will all weave into the Rat King storyline!

all things end - s. gojo x reader drabble
contents: teen!gojo x teen!reader, slightly jealous satoru, pulling an all nighter with satoru while on the plasma vessel mission, NOT PROOFREAD title is based off of 'all things end' by hozier
a/n: originally, this was longer but i scrapped the other half of it cuz i hated it so much LMAO i also woke my dog up to post this
“‘toru? what’re you doin’ up?”
satoru looks at you, his already blue eyes glowing brighter with his activated technique. exhaustion pools in his eyes.
“keeping watch,” he says, turning his gaze away from you and looking out at the okinawa beach. “don’t need some stupid curse users messin’ this mission up when we’re already so close.”
you nod. you leave momentarily and satoru thinks you’ve gone back to sleep only to see you in his peripheral quietly carrying a chair over to where he’s seated by the hotel room balcony door. suguru is asleep on the couch and kuroi and riko are asleep in the single king sized bed. you’d been asleep on the couch next to suguru, tucked into the left arm rest.
satoru had been a little envious hours ago when you’d shifted in your sleep to rest your head on suguru’s shoulder.
you set your chair down and quietly join him. glancing over at his moonlit figure, you take note that he’s still wearing his ridiculous hawaiian shirt from that morning, still completely unbuttoned down the front. you wonder if he’s cold but make no move to ask as you turn towards the open balcony door. the sound of waves shattering against the shoreline fills your senses, the constant and unmistakable sound of water crashing over onto wet sand ringing throughout the air.
“you should sleep.”
you turn to satoru, his head resting in his palm and his eyes refusing to meet yours. his posture is lazy–lazier than normal. you don’t respond and instead stay up the entire night next to satoru gojo, listening to the dark ocean edge its way onto land.

— 𝐈'𝐯𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐞𝐲𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮.
Tumblr media
𝐆𝐨𝐣𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐮 𝐱 𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬!𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫.
𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐲: You wouldn't leave Satoru facing a cold night alone.
𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬: Fluff, drabble, words a little explicit, comfort, mention of riko, kuroi and geto, a drop of angst, inspired by episode 3
𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭: 1.780!
The cold, sharp, hard feel of the smooth floor surged through your feet; and mentally you berated yourself for not wearing your slippers, which were probably lying around the room.
A smug expression formed on your slightly sleeping face, and you nearly caught yourself in a groan. — But, in no way, would you go back to get them, after all, it's a crude and useless thing to gain your focus.
And, also, there was something far more important to focus your attention and dedication on.
With the vision, totally, heavy and sleepy, you started to direct yourself to the presence that was before and centered in your eyes. — It wasn't pitch black, or too dark for so much exaggeration; the light of the moon, which was on its full days, illuminated the calm, subtle and pleasant environment.
"You should be sleeping." — The heavy voice, in charge of tiredness, but denying itself in such a way, exclaimed in the place and in his ears. — And you would be lying, coldly, if you didn't claim that a shiver ran through your body.
At no time, or under any circumstances, did he need to turn or direct his eyes, in a fine way, to recognize you or observe your appearance; that's because he didn't need to. — The young sorcerer felt your presence, the moment you put your feet on the ground, in the same second.
"Satoru..." — Your voice came out weak, influenced by the sleep interrupted a while ago and not being able to hide the concern landing, perfectly, in the ears of the oldest.
His name was the only thing that came out of your mouth at that moment; and it was the only thing on your mind. — Satoru was awake, in a cold and full dawn, and it wasn't the first time he did that. — And it wouldn't be the last.
That not only worried you, it also bothered you; You felt your chest heave when you looked into his tired, overworked blue eyes. — At certain points, dark circles formed in the region close to his eyes and, with the luck of his glasses, which he made a point of hiding.
It was obvious that Kuroi and Riko could find something strange or question something, since that pair of glasses was a living part of Gojo; however, you and Geto knew what was actually happening.
Geto ended up, on his own, unraveling what was happening with Gojo in recent time; but, to be more specific, the young black-haired sorcerer put all the factors together today. — It was not difficult to listen to their conversation, which was brief, during the morning.
You hate the mediocre fact that you've snooped on someone's conversation. — Even more so when admitting such an act.
You moved your feet and walked towards Gojo's image; it seemed like with every step you took, a chilling shock coursed through your body. — You knew whether it was the cold feeling of the ground or Satoru's presence.
The answer was clear, direct and obvious. — It was him.
"Hmm?" — The white-haired boy, who was wearing an oddly flashy orange coat, grumbled when he saw you approaching. — He still kept the same clothes he spent the whole morning wearing, nothing changed; he didn't even close his coat against the winds.
However, his face was completely heavy, tired; along with his blank stare, but on the alert for everything, even a fly. — Satoru didn't know what it was to blink at that exact moment; he didn't know what it was, at least, to rest.
It wasn't the first time, let alone the last, that he would do this. — And you both know it.
"…and you should be there with me." — You replied, with a little rigor, with your repression and trying to stifle a yawn, but soon failing miserably. — "It's strange not to feel you trying to steal the blankets." — A clumsy, sleepy confession, however, causes a small, subtle laugh to escape Satoru's lips.
It wasn't just weird, it was more than that; it was something that I still didn't have the name in the language. — Discomfort? Affliction? Fear? Anguish? — You felt all of that at once.
"So is that a way of saying you can't sleep without me, my love?" — Gojo tried to soften the situation, at least a little. His voice was haggard, without much enthusiasm and charisma, which was rare to see in Satoru.
The blue eyes, which recall the sky and ward off any problems that haunted his mind, heavy but obliged to be aware of everything around, landed in your presence; who was now ahead of Gojo. — His glasses were a little droopy, so you finally get to see his bluish eye sockets.
"Understand it however you like." — A genuine smile, and a little shy, formed on your lips. — Satoru wasn't lying, or talking one more of his nonsense as usual; those words were indeed worthy of a truth.
A truth that also revealed one of his worst and greatest fears; not feel Gojo's presence next to your. — Not feeling the feel of his big body against your, not feeling his hands around you, not even feeling your legs pinning his to keep from getting off the bed. — Only, not feeling Satoru with you.
Perhaps, that might sound more selfish than it sounds; even more so because you are a jujutsu sorceress. — Along with the mission and oath to protect the weakest and those unaware of curses. — But, it was suffocating, a bit of torture, watching and witnessing all the cursed factors going on around you and knowing that you could be on the verge of failing everything and losing everything.
However, it is clear that in the jujutsu world one cannot get one's hopes up. — And that's something you haven't learned to deal with yet.
"We'll leave in the morning, i think you better go back to your room, little lady." — Satoru uttered with responsibility and reason, which was something he had at that moment; a very rare occasion. — "I don't want to hear your mumbling or having to carry you the whole way." — He raised one of his hands to his chin, as if he was thinking of something promising. — "Although i wouldn't complain, huh?"
"Eh? Shut up, idiot…" — You replied, unable to contain or interrupt a light and at the same time warm laugh.
Noticing that there was space left on the small sofa, where Satoru was sitting, you pass by the young man and don't wait or think twice, so you take comfort in the seat. — It wasn't as comfortable and fluffy, of course, as the bed in the room where you were staying, but it was better than standing all that time.
Suddenly, a cold but pleasant breeze, carrying the strong smell of the sea, passed by you. — You've never seen a night as cold as this one. — And, automatically, he put his legs together in the intention of trying to warm up and not go through those freezing seconds. — Maybe you were exaggerating, just maybe.
You took a deep breath, and prayed, mentally, that the night would pass quickly. — And finally, you guys go back to jujutsu school. — Your eyes tried to search, observe and admire something during that time to distract himself, intending to distance your thoughts about the present occurrences.
A surprising yawn escapes your lips, once again that night, and you feel your eyes getting heavier and heavier, unable to force them open but stubborn against it and trying, hard, to stay awake. — You didn't want to leave Gojo alone until dawn.
In a flash, you let your head rest on the tip of Satoru's shoulder; and with the fluffy and soft fabric of your coat, it doesn't make the situation so uncomfortable. — The word "discomfort" disappeared, bravely, from the world and from your mouth when he was close to Satoru. — It was as if all the curses, evils and badness in the world disappeared when his heavenly eyes met your or just saw his shadow.
Satoru was your home. — Where it made you feel safe and protected and loved.
And in such a comfortable and cozy situation, sleep, which had been accumulating for all that time, eventually caught up with you. — Your body relaxed, even though it wasn't in an appropriate position and that can cause certain pains in the morning, and all the thoughts that disturbed you so much had a chance to disappear.
Satoru wasn't scared, or bothered, of course, he would never bother with you or with any miserable thing you did; the sorcerer smiled. — But, it wasn't a common smile or the kind he lived in stamped on his face; it was a passionate smile, fascinated and alive. — A smile with a meaning he understood from the day you met.
Beneath his typical dark glasses, Satoru admired you with mixed feelings, but the feeling of passion struggled in the older man's chest; if he had the chance to steer you away from all the evil non-wizard and sorcerer reasons, he wouldn't think twice. — You were strong, he wouldn't deny that even if he had to walk over burning coals. But he cared about you, just like you cared about him.
Even though he didn't believe so faithfully in the talks and speeches about destiny, Satoru begged for the future not to be so heavy on you two. — He couldn't get his hopes up, that's what the jujutsu school insisted on, but Satoru was never one to follow rules or teachings.
With a slow movement, trying his best not to wake you, Satoru directed his large and thin hand in yours and, thus, holding it. — The size comparison between your hand and his always caught Gojo's attention. — Thin, cold and a little rough fingers began to intertwine with yours; Satoru, with just his thumb, made small, circular movements in the palm of your hand.
During his admiration, Gojo began to feel a grip on his hand and, soon, he understood that it was you. — You squeezed, lightly, Satoru's hand, as if you were dreaming or just instinct for the feeling, even not knowing what it was, in fact, he increased the smile that kept on his face.
"My angel." — He whispered, more to himself than to you; soon, Satoru directed his hand, which he was holding, to your thin and affectionate lips and leaving a lingering kiss under the soft and slightly warm region.
Only the gods, if they actually existed, knew how he wanted that moment to last forever. — Satoru would do anything, kill anything or anyone to keep that moment so intimate, so naive and cozy with you forever.
"My beautiful angel."

My actual canonical interpretation of SatoSugu?
I believe they were the bestest of friends, inseparable soul mates who were mutually in love with each other, but never confessed the depth of their feelings, never discussed their relationship, and never actually made anything out of it.
I believe that Suguru had a massive crush on Satoru throughout their high school years. Satoru was more dense on the other hand and did love Suguru but didn’t know how to place his feelings exactly. Suguru was always by his side and that was enough, he felt secure, so why look into it deeper?
After the trauma from the Star Plasma Vessel mission, Suguru was heartbroken that Satoru left him alone a lot. He missed Satoru and spiraled, self-isolated, started becoming obsessed with his own self-talk about ‘monkeys’ and ‘creating a new world with sorcerers only’. He and Satoru both became self-absorbed. Suguru lost that crush and admiration he had for Satoru even though he still loved him. He wanted his own goals more. So he left.
The second he left, I bet that’s when Satoru realized what Suguru meant to him. That’s probably one of the reasons that Satoru is stuck in the past, because he finally placed his feelings for Suguru, realized he was in love with him, and kept replaying those moments they had together, realizing he never noticed Suguru sending signals, mad at himself for never noticing. He regretted it so badly that he just couldn’t stop living in the past with Suguru. If he’d just paid attention, if he noticed Suguru’s signals, his spiraling, maybe he could have stopped it.
That moment where Suguru returns to the high school to declare war only to leave again, when Satoru watches and watches, (according to the JJK 0 Light Novel) his “eyes kept following the shape of Geto’s soul”. He couldn’t look away. He was filled with so much regret. His entire creed is to raise strong sorcerers together so that no one has to be alone the way Suguru and he ended up.
And when the time came for him to kill Suguru, because last words are so important to him, he finally told Suguru what he should have told him when they were high schoolers. “I love you.”
Suguru, who’d long buried those feelings, probably realized that the things he’d told himself about how Satoru viewed him were wrong. This whole time, Satoru really did love and trust him still. That’s why he smiled. He was loved in return.
“You should at least curse me a little at the end.”
He wishes Satoru would have hated him because now he’s filled with regret. If only they’d had talked sooner, none of this would have happened. Suguru had always placed emphasis on ‘found family’. We see this when he calls Kuroi “Riko’s family” and when he adopts Mimiko and Nanako, as well as the rest of the sorcerers/curse users he rounds up for the Night Parade of 1,000 Demons. With that said, I know for a fact that when they were in high school, he saw Satoru as his family. He saw him as home, as safety, as love.
Really, the only time that he and Satoru aren’t putting on some sort of act is when they’re alone together. It’s strange to see the two of them so serious, especially Satoru, who deflects with humor like his life depends on it. But it’s fitting. They’re just comfortable around each other, there’s no need for masks. They never even seriously raised their hands against each other, nor fatally hurt each other’s family/students.
Now, fast-forward to a year later in Shibuya, when Kenjaku uses the love Satoru and Suguru have for each other against Satoru. How does he know seeing Suguru would have such a drastic effect on Satoru that it would immobilize him completely? Did he watch from afar? Did he keep tabs on them? Or did he see Suguru’s memories somehow? Could he feel how Suguru felt when around Satoru? I’d like to think it was both—Kenjaku kept tabs on them before Suguru died, and gained access to his memories after taking him over.
He even knew the tone Suguru used to use for Satoru’s name. The soft way he called his name. He knew the only thing in the entire world that could stop the strongest sorcerer in modern times was using the love of his life against him.
The smile Satoru had when he thought it was Suguru makes me believe that the only thing he wanted was to see him again.
Then, when he realized it wasn’t him, Kenjaku said “how sad, you don’t recognize me?”
As if to say Suguru would be devasted that Satoru didn’t recognize him. Kenjaku knows how Suguru feels about Satoru.
Then Satoru calls him on his bs and he says “creepy, how did you know?”
Creepy?
The only other time Kenjaku is creeped out is waaaaaaay later in the manga (spoilers ahead) when Satoru sets the fight day to Dec 24th Kenjaku acknowledges that it’s romantic, and that “having a date with him on the 24th gives him the creeps”.
Oh, I know he’s grossed out with how much they love each other. Like. How the hell else do you interpret that???? Come. On.
Add in when Suguru somehow comes back from the dead for a moment and tries to choke his own body to save Satoru. Kenjaku is baffled—that’s never happened before. That is a demonstration of love everlasting, absolutely.
Then you have Shoko’s “I’d never fall in love with either of you, but you were still never alone” to SatoSugu, basically confirming that she knew the two of them shared a romantic bond that she couldn’t replicate the depth of.
So. Yes. They were very very much in love with each other and to this day Satoru loves Suguru with every fiber of his being and lives his life dedicated to atoning for his (self-perceived) failures to Suguru. He thinks about him everyday. He says he was his only friend. He has Shoko, Ijichi, Mei Mei, and Utahime and yet he only sees Suguru. He only sees Suguru.

The man surrounded by the theme of love…
Geto.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gege has made several writing choices to depict Geto as someone who was handsome and loved - arguably more than any other character in the series. Maybe Gege loves him the most - not complaining at all.
More under the cut - just a few visuals I’ve collected to demonstrate this. I’m certainly not alone in noticing it and there may be others who show this much better, lol. Tag me in if you want to share!!
My post does end with a not-so brief analysis which you can skip if you wish.
Geto, despite being cursed at birth with the technique to absorb the ills of the world, the very skill that led him to fight alongside Gojo as part of the Strongest Duo - by design, each others’ counterpart in so many ways - a twist of fate led them onto opposite paths, leading to complete imbalance, one that drove him into madness.
If Geto in some ways represented Love, it is truly the most twisted curse of all which played a part in his death.
Geto witnessed the most love confessions in the whole series - I found (and stole) it off twitter/now X:
Tumblr media
The Japanese originals seem more compelling to me:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Riko says “daisuki” whereas Yuta uses a more traditional “Aishiteru” which, is quite embarrassing of a confession, and therefore almost hints at what could be Gojo’s last words to Geto, if it directly parallels Yuta & Rika’s relationship. And that expression Geto wears when he sees Riko and Kuroi struggle with separating?
That does not look like a person who cannot sympathise and empathise with people. Geto was a person who cared too much, and in search for a way to protect those he cared for, needed an outlet and something (in this case, lesser being, the humans) to blame. He descended into a mania and much like shinobu sensui from yu yu hakusho, seemed to develop some kind of mental disorder due to being unable to carry the conflicting ideals together. The dissonance the world presented to him was just too cruel, and he himself became a weapon to defend his ideals.
Before his defection, Geto was liked by his peers:
Haibara
Tumblr media
Mei Mei
Tumblr media
Loved by his family for and despite his ideals:
Mimiko and Nanako
Tumblr media
Shibuya crew liked/loved him and carried his will/beliefs even after his death, in their own ways, as family:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Miguel and Larue in the most recent chapter to date:
Tumblr media
Translations (rough):
Larue: You and me alike, we just wanted Suguru-chan to be King.
Miguel: Yea, I followed just because it was Geto. After shibuya, I trained Okkotsu and I don’t want anything to do with the country anymore. (Something along these lines; a little too complicated for my rudimentary Japanese)
Larue: You , me, Mimiko, Nanako, Manami, Toshihisa, everyone just really liked/loved Suguru-chan.
Canonically, he was known to be handsome and popular:
Takaba
Tumblr media
Gege’s character book:
Tumblr media
JJK popularity poll:
Tumblr media
I do not have screengrabs of how Manami and Larue joined, but it was said to be due to how handsome they thought he was.
Maybe he was like Rika, who did realise how she came across in her life, and manipulated people, lol. But that’s a bit of a stretch to bring that parallel/similarity in. Geto was just quite a magnetic person, according to Gege.
And in the most roundabout way:
Gojo:
“my one and only”
“Love is the most twisted curse...” “curse me a little at the end.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“I don’t need love to satisfy me” ... “if you were there I might’ve have been satisfied”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While love surrounds Geto, the theme that follows Gojo appears to be “the strongest” cursed; he was admired, revered, feared, and disliked by many. It truly breaks my heart, to think of what he had to give up to carry the weight of this for his whole life, until the very end.
Tumblr media
This looks like the most dizzyingly lonely picture of Gojo. It was indeed ironic to have it all but to embody what it means to have an unlimited void by being totally different.
Tumblr media
He suffered so much for his power and to have carried this strength. The sorcerer world was practically on his shoulders. The balance was up to him; everyone relied on him. Every time he tried to protect his love (geto) it seemed to fail. It worsened each time, ending with his own demise. But of course that’s just a dramatic interpretation - I don’t really mean/believe that, but it is one way to see the tragedy between Gojo and Geto. Strength at the expense of love; it plays out with the strongest this far as those identifying with this title are plagued by loneliness and do not know love.
They met before things got twisted within themselves, between them. Even after Geto left, Gojo seemed to be looking and waiting for him - to prove his trust for him almost as if he saw through his illusions and lies. Geto was the shadow (Yin) and Gojo was the light (Yang). Only the light can see through the dark. I’ll leave the gojo characterisation for another time / to other better writers.
For now, I’ll just say that I felt that he had planned for the possibility of losing to Sukuna (with the various things we see him do between scheduling the 24th and the actual day) and if he won, he’d just carry on the plan to cremate Geto on top of saving everyone and being a good example as the strongest. Worst case scenario, he would weaken Sukuna and I guess just die on the same day as Geto - idk, maybe as a form of redemption for one of his most painful experiences in life. Who knows?
I headcanon he was relieved to pass on, doing his part to defend the world that relied on him so much, with a big bang - a really fun fight.
And I’m glad they found each other at the end - the loved and the lost.
Tumblr media
Back to Geto:
We don’t get much insight into what Geto wanted or felt aside from a world that was better for sorcerers, those he cared about. Even at the afterlife scene, or in subsequent chapters, we only hear from others rather than Geto.
Call me biased and delusional; I believe he didn’t kill the innocent despite saying he hated them all. He loved and hurt so strongly that he hated with almost equal force. He did want to force evolution and eventually extinguish all human kind, to him: the ignorant source of suffering, but I’m glad he didn’t manage to get Rika. I headcanon that he was aware he was losing himself by defying his own principles (to kill sorcerers) for his own gain. That, and Rika with a binding vow for a life, no less, was just too powerful.
In the official character book, Geto was described as someone who told himself that he hated humans a lot, like a reminder. He didn’t kill people indiscriminately. I’m sure he was well aware of how evil he had become but he had chosen, hadn’t he? He expressed to Yuta, that self-affirmation was incredibly important in his view. And the more he interacted with the students, I think the more his humanity fought back - I mean, he was standing there crying from being so moved by what he saw. He also let Yuta heal his friends. How villainous? Or how incredibly loving in spite of himself?
Geto has been shown to lie to others too: jjk 0: described having lied to the school about the conditions for obtaining a cursed spirit, and after defecting: upon taking stage for the first time, stating that the looking the part (wearing gojokesa) was important (ie lying). At his death’s door, he also prefaces with, no matter what anyone says - why would there be a need for that if he wasn’t telling a half-truth? He sought to avenge Riko (first person at the cult he killed after calling him onto the stage + cue mic throw) and the village represented a bunch of people who he slaughtered out of rage and ignorance. I’m definitely not defending him here - his actions are reprehensible. My headcanon view is that he didn’t know how to live with himself after snapping and that was the only path laid before him, which he ardently committed to.
I just think that he held onto a form of love/humanity still- Gojo and Geto both did. Without it, Geto would’ve become the Queen of curses due to Rika (uncaring about his family, or killing young sorcerors despite witnessing the students’ bond and yuta’s selfless power of love in jjk0) and Gojo may have focused on training at all cost without embracing Geto’s principles and becoming a teacher to change the jujutsu world - he could’ve become the next Sukuna and take the title of the King of curses instead - crowning them both King and Queen - instead of both the King and Queen contributing to their deaths. Anyway, I digress...
Geto appears very mother-coded in his protective and defensive relations to the girls, but also to Riko, Kuroi, and Gojo - especially after Toji had killed them. He was so fiercely trying to avenge and defend them, but failing that had a huge effect on him. Moreover, Haibara - innocent, glowingly positive - suffered an undeserved death. It weighed so heavily on Geto, that he didn’t defend Gojo when Nanami vented about leaving things to Gojo who seemed to take it all in his stride, almost insinuating that Geto, too, had little autonomy but to carry on that cycle of curse consumption he began to loathe.
Yuki also underlined the meaninglessness of the death / sacrifice / relationship rupture / suffering. And like the novel implies: Geto was too sincere for this world. He just loved too deeply and wounds cut him too painfully. At just 17... what inner resources were they forced to develop?
He was disillusioned by the system, but respected that Gojo had a place there. This is also SatoSugu indulgent: He never once attempted to talk Gojo into joining him, despite it being the most logical choice, but Geto was the emotional and loving kind - he prioritised Gojo over his ideals / himself. This man was willing to die trying to pursue his ideals, but didn’t want to try convincing his friend even if he know it might fail. What does that say about him? I think it says he loved Gojo. And Gojo loved him.
He masked like Gojo did : the infamous “yeah I’d win” and Geto’s “I’ve made my choice” and his face fell as he had his back turned, stating that he just needed to do it to the best of his ability. This may be headcanon but it does seem plausible to me. He was under no illusions about what he had done. To love was to turn away too. To love was to let the other go. Sigh.
Backtracking a bit: When Geto encountered the twin girls, who knows what entered his mind, but there was something that emerged from being horrified, enraged, and it gave birth to new meaning. He would take control and save them - from humans and the institution that made child sorcerors die. According to Gege, he became Papa Geto. (Kenjaku is also mum-coded but the antithesis of motherly love, with the womb protrusion domain and actually bearing children.)
This is of course not limited to feminine energy, as parents, both male and female, have protective instincts. But I’m not here to go into that discourse. Just stereotypically, and loosely speaking, Geto is very Yin energy. He is a big Mama Bear. With extreme maternal aggression. We see female counterparts do this in the wild more than males. And yes, of course both male and female are protective. Both geto and gojo were protective in their own unique ways. That’s for another post. Geto would rather die than have anyone come save him. In fact, the scripture behind him in the temple goes somewhere along the lines of “death to the weak”. If he had failed, he deserved to die. His family should live.
Gojo cares for others differently. And yes we know he died whilst defending others too. He is inherently more individualistic due to what he is with his gifts and noble heritage. He is less emotional and more cerebral, the only time we saw him lose his composure was due to Geto.
He allows his students to take risks and would allow them to fight in his stead, like in jjk 0 where Toge and panda were sent to be defeated by Geto. Tough love, as Gojo admits. This is also very Dad-like in the modern sense of the word.
In my subjective experiencing of the world, it’s almost like a husband who is only really emotionally vulnerable with his wife, and is otherwise the successful businessman, dad, and whatever else he is. Geto is much like a mum that he would walk away from her husband (lol, Gojo in this case) in order to protect them in a way she deems is best. Maybe I’m a little nuts, I don’t know. (Actually I am a little eccentric, but that’s by the by).
Now this is totally just satosugu indulgent: I headcanon that Gojo also “protected” / was possessive of Geto by making a deal with Miguel since the latter said he would curse Geto if he died, lol. Especially in light of the latest chapter where Miguel said he was spared by Gojo. (And i reckon Gojo was respectful of Miguel being Geto’s family, so he spared him for that reason too). I mean, Gojo had to kill his best friend, but this was his burden to bear, you know? It’s almost sickeningly intimate to allow someone to end your suffering, and be entrusted with that too. Ugh, ouch, my heart…..
Edit: I’m reminded of that scene where Shoko reflects on loving neither of them, like Gojo, Geto didn’t want anyone to be alone anymore either. Geto said he didn’t feel happy from the bottom of his heart. Gojo felt lonely (although he said it got better at the airport scene). They weren’t alone, but probably felt it… because of the absence of their true/first love? Larue stating in the panels above that Geto wouldn’t wish for them to fight seems like a nod to what Geto believed happened between him and Gojo. Gojo raised allies - be strong, don’t be left behind. Geto a family - get along, don’t fight. Just pointing out what my take is on the parallels I’ve observed.
That ends the brief analysis portion of what I wished to convey about what appears to surround Geto. He may not have been depicted much in the series, but his presence has been felt through the eyes of many. It made me wonder why did Gege do this?
This author deliberately wrote multiple people in the verse to love and follow him (and spare him a death sentence for 10 years) despite not agreeing to his ideals.
Perhaps it isn’t Gege’s focus, understandably, to give us a lot more insight from Geto’s pov, but there is certainly some kind of narrative he is pushing to depict how this man, cruel yet kind, is somehow one of the few he seems to portray in this way more than others within the sorcerer world at the very least. That his life was somehow a tragedy that he might not have really known the love at all? I wonder what Gojo’s last words were to incite such a heartfelt reaction - well done? Welcome home? You did well? I love you? My one and only best friend? Sigh, I guess it’s a secret between them.
There are others who have written metas on Gojo and maternal energy. If I find it I’ll link it! Otherwise, search through my reblogs! So many fantastic writers and thinkers out there!
Thanks for reading if you made it this far!

Author's Note - This piece might have taken YEARS off of my expected lifespan, but what can I say, I live for the angst.

Tumblr media
“Just be safe, yeah?” you say with a smile on your face, smoothing your hands over the shoulders of Geto’s uniform. His expression mirrors your own — a soft smile curling the corners of his lips upward as he gazes at you.
“Yeah, promise,” he responds, nodding his head at you. Your smile momentarily widens, the smile lines on your face indenting deeper. You push yourself onto tiptoe, pressing a gentle kiss against Geto’s cheek.
The moment is then immediately soiled by a loud, fake retching sound from a certain snowy-haired male. Both you and Geto turn — the latter already biting back the sarcastic quip that rises in his throat.
“Do I get one too?” Gojo asks, crossing his arms dramatically over his chest as he swaggers to you and Geto, craning his neck and jabbing his cheek in your direction. You giggle, removing your hands from Geto’s shoulders — which he nearly protests — and instead you lay your palms against Gojo’s cheeks.
“Dramatic ass,” you tease, then laying a kiss against Gojo’s cheek before you shove him away. He sticks his tongue out at Geto as he stumbles, who only rolls his eyes.
“Come on Satoru, I don’t want to be out all day,” Geto complains, glancing up at you. You smile, nose scrunching in that way that always warms Geto’s chest — he fights the urge to kiss the small wrinkle in the bridge of your nose.
“Yeah, yeah, m’coming,” Gojo waves off Geto’s rushing, turning his head to flash you one last smile before he jogs to catch up to Geto’s side.
“(Y/N) is gonna have a field day chewing us out,” Gojo complains, tilting his head back and letting out the dramatic sigh that he had been holding in his chest. Geto nods in agreement, turning his head just enough to cast a glance over his shoulder.
Riko is still rambling on about all of the things that she wants to do, which mainly includes the simplistic aspects of life. She had already voiced to both Geto and Gojo that she wanted to live life normally — and she had also voiced her want to not constantly be followed by both males.
Geto can’t help the smile that curls the corner of his lips upward, silently watching as Riko speaks in a manner similar to that of an animated character, spreading her arms wide and smiling brightly at Kuroi, who watches the young girl with softened eyes.
“Yeah, but she’ll be more than happy to help with Riko,” Geto points out, turning his attention back to his scowling best friend. Gojo sighs, the force of his breath blowing his bangs from his eyes. “Better that she deals with Riko than us,” he adds with a wiggle of his brow, an action that pulls a breathy yet dry chuckle from Gojo’s throat.
“True,” Gojo hums in agreement, lifting his hands to place them palm flat against the back of his neck. He turns his head, glancing at Riko for a fleeting moment before he turns back to face forward. “D’you think Riko will like (Y/N)?”
“Who doesn’t like (Y/N)?” Geto answers quickly. His jaw snaps shut, cheeks blazing a light shade of pink as he realizes what it was that he had just said. Gojo catches him, but he bites back the sarcastic quip though he so desperately wants to dish it out. “Shut up, let’s just head back.”
< … >
“Y’know, I’m glad that you and Satoru are taking the vessel — sorry, Riko — on a little getaway. It’s sweet of you both,” you say with a smile, leaning back against your pillows. On the other line, Geto lets out a small chuckle, the sound bringing a bout of butterflies to your stomach — God, you were smitten with your boyfriend.
“Not really sweet. We’re doing it because she asked for it,” Geto responds, turning his head to glance at both Riko and Gojo — both of whom were bickering for what felt like the hundredth time that day. He rolls his eyes with a grin on his face, returning his attention to his phone call with you.
“Still, the fact that you both agreed to it is sweet enough,” you tease lovingly. Geto grins at the smile in your voice, wishing that he could see it. “Maybe I can convince Yaga to come with you three.”
“Please,” Geto breathes, closing his eyes. He chuckles breathily after speaking, glancing once more at Riko and Gojo before he faces forward again. “I don’t know how much more of their bickering I can take.”
“I’ll talk to him in the morning. You three get some sleep, ‘kay?” you say softly, and immediately Geto wants to protest — he doesn’t want to hang up just yet. It had been days without seeing you, the most he was able to do was video call you, but even that wasn’t the same as being with you physically.
“Okay,” he relents, his shoulders sagging slightly. “G’night baby.”
“Night Sugu, I love you.”
“I love you more.” He removes the phone from his ear, pressing his thumb against the red hang-up button and turning on his heel to face both Riko and Gojo. “C’mon, (Y/N) said for us to get some rest before tomorrow.”
Gojo snaps his jaw shut at the mention of your name, turning to face Geto and completely forgetting about Riko — who stares at the snowy-haired male with her jaw slack. But her anger over being ignored dissolves quickly into curiosity. She had heard that name several times already — (Y/N).
“Who’s (Y/N)?” Riko inquires, tilting her head and crossing her legs on top of the blankets of the motel’s bed. She rests her hands palm flat against her legs, her gaze flickering between Geto and Gojo — both of whom exchange a glance that almost says, “We don’t want to say anything.”
“(Y/N) is-“
“(Y/N) is Suguru’s girlfriend,” Gojo answers with an indifferent shrug, playing off the stern glare that Geto immediately shoots in his direction. Riko’s eyebrows raise — she certainly hadn’t expected that to be the response. She had expected “sister” or “cousin”, but certainly not “girlfriend.”
“Girlfriend? You?” Riko points a finger at Geto’s chest, her eyes narrowing momentarily at him. In response, Geto slowly nods at her, not knowing what to make of the expression on the teenage girl’s face. “I’m shocked.”
Gojo snickers, slapping a palm over his mouth and turning away so that Geto wouldn’t notice him laughing. Geto turns, glaring first at Gojo before his eyes snap back to Riko, who tries — and fails — to hide a smile of her own.
“You’re both hilarious, now go to bed.”
< … >
Have you spoken to Yaga yet?
Sent : 11:40
Yeah, I just left his office. He said as long as we lay low, there isn't an issue with me joining you.
Sent : 11:41
I'll send you our location then.

Okay babe! See you soon <3

Geto smiles quietly to himself, trying to hide the curl of his lips from Gojo and Riko – not that he had to try very hard. Gojo and Riko were, like usual, busy with bickering with one another over God only knows what. Kuroi, bless her soul, is trying her hardest to settle the arguing – but to no avail.
"Hey, Satoru," Geto calls out, effectively stopping the childish arguing between Gojo and Riko. The snowy-haired male turns at the call of his name, speeding up his steps to fall into line with Geto. He furrows his eyebrows together, silently urging Geto to continue speaking. "Yaga approved the request for (Y/N) to join us. She'll meet us here in Okinawa."
"Thank God," Gojo says, casting a sharpened glare in Riko's direction – which Riko responds to by sticking her tongue out. She crosses her arms over her chest, but she would be lying if she said she wasn’t a little excited to meet you.
“She’ll be here sometime in the afternoon, so you’ll have to occupy yourself until then,” Geto teases, chuckling as Gojo punches him in the shoulder. Riko watches on, feeling herself smile at the interaction — maybe being stuck with these two wasn’t as bad as she had made it out to be.
And maybe you were even better.
< … >
“(Y/N/N)!” Gojo calls out, his hands cupping over his mouth as he spots you in the distance. He lifts his hand in a wave once your body turns, eyes falling on him.
You easily make your way over, beelining for both Geto and Gojo. Your arms lock around Geto first, smiling widely as his arms wrap firmly around your waist, lifting you from the ground.
You crane your neck to look down at Geto, your hands moving to hold the sides of his face as you guide his lips to yours, kissing him sweetly and smiling against him.
It’s the dramatic retching and spitting that makes you pull back from Geto — and of course, Gojo is doubled over pretending to vomit.
Geto sets you down, still holding your hips as your head turns to glance at Gojo. Shaking your head, you roll your eyes, scoffing at the male’s behavior.
You turn back to Geto, choosing to ignore Gojo’s theatrics in favor of sweetly reuniting with your boyfriend after however many days it had been since he’d first set off from Jujutsu Tech.
“Hi,” you whisper, scrunching your nose at him as you smile. This time, Geto leans in to kiss the bridge of your nose, laughing breathily when he pulls back and catches sight of your flustered expression.
“Hi baby,” he smiles at you, chuckling as you move to bury your face into his shoulder. His hand tangles in your hair, fingernails scraping lightly against your scalp — the action has you curling further into him like a cat.
“Wow, so I don’t get a hello at all?” Gojo calls out dramatically, throwing his hands into the air and pouting childishly, crossing his arms over his chest.
Your groan of protest is caught by the fabric of Geto's shirt, the rumble of your chest against his own bringing a soft smile to Geto's lips. You disconnect from Geto's arms, turning on your heel and opening your arms to Gojo – which he runs into without a single ounce of hesitation.
"Satoru!" You can't help but bite back the laugh that bubbles up in your throat as Gojo all but tackles you to the ground, nearly knocking you off of your feet from the force at which he runs at you. You let out a hearty laugh the second that his body knocks into yours, your feet lifting from the ground as Gojo messily spins you around in a fashion similar yet not to Geto.
"Thank God you're here!" Gojo loudly complains, his voice just as dramatic as it always had been. You smile widely, holding tightly onto Gojo's neck so that you wouldn't fall to the ground.
"Alright Satoru, calm down," Geto says sternly, reaching a hand out and grasping his friend's shoulder. The touch prompts Gojo to set you down. You smile in thanks, nodding once to Geto before you finally notice the unfamiliar face that stares curiously at you – the Star Plasma Vessel.
Your eyes soften as you gaze at her – she was much younger than you had expected, at least two or three years below you. Following your gaze, both Geto and Gojo step out of your way, allowing you and Riko to meet on your own terms rather than accidentally forcing you both into conversation.
"Hi, I'm (Y/N)," you say with a kind smile, extending your hand in Riko's direction and waiting patiently for her to take it. Relaxed, the young girl smiles right back at you, folding her hand into yours and joyously shaking it.
"Hi! I'm Riko," the girl bubbles, her smile seemingly widening as you release her hand. You have to admit, seeing her so happy, even given her situation, was heartwarming in a way that you couldn't put into words. You chuckle gently at her, then shifting your attention to the older woman that stands at Riko's side – she eyes you with a mixture of curiosity and hesitance.
Riko follows your gaze, glancing at Kuroi and smiling as her gaze and attention returns to you. "Oh! That's Kuroi," Riko introduces the older woman, gesturing warmly to her in a way that has you assuming she may be Riko's mother or older sister – or something of the like.
"It's nice to meet you Kuroi. I'm (Y/N)," you reintroduce yourself, extending your hand in Kuroi's direction. Her eyes flicker down to your outstretched fingers, eyeing them with a raised eyebrow. You understand her hesitation – you were nothing but a stranger to her after all.
With a gentle nudge from Riko, Kuroi shakes your hand, offering you a shaky smile – one that you reciprocate kindly. "It's nice to meet you as well."
The moment that Kuroi's hand leaves yours, Riko is quick to hook her arm into your own, gently tugging you in the direction of the shops that Geto and Gojo had previously promised that they could visit. You let out a small chuckle, allowing yourself to be dragged away by Riko, who immediately begins to talk your ear off about just how annoying she found Geto and Gojo.
"Good to see that they get along nicely," Kuroi comments fondly, placing a hand palm flat against her chest as a soft smile curls her lips upward. Geto nods in agreement, watching yours and Riko's retreating figures with softened eyes.
"Come on, you and I both know that (Y/N) is gonna make me pay for everything," Gojo complains, his voice carrying its usual dramatic whine as he drags his feet to follow you and Riko. Geto and Kuroi chuckle in response, following Gojo.
< … >
"You care about her," Geto says suddenly, his eyes flickering to you as you sit quietly on the beach beside him. With a grin, you curl your knees up to your chest, wrapping your arms around yourself and watching as Riko and Gojo chase each other through the ocean's shallow end.
Your eyes soften as you watch Riko kick water up at Gojo, laughing loudly as he tries to shield himself (mostly his hair) from getting wet – always the dramatic one.
"Yeah," you whisper, turning your head and leaning your cheek against your knee, your gaze meeting Geto's. He stares back at you with warm eyes, that which crinkle at the corners as his lips tug upward. His hand extends, a finger running lovingly along your cheek. For a moment, absolutely nothing else matters – not the mission, not the Star Plasma Vessel, not anything.
All that matters is that you're with Geto.
You nuzzle lovingly into his affectionate touch, actively seeking more of it – which Geto is more than happy to provide. His finger is replaced by the palm of his hand, thumb swiping at the area just underneath your eyes. "It's sweet, you know."
"Oh shush, you're going soft for her too," you bite back teasingly, smirking as Geto removes his hand from your cheek. You whine at the loss of contact, but you continue to smirk at Geto nonetheless. He rolls his eyes playfully at you, his gaze momentarily flickering to catch a glimpse of Riko and Gojo – both of whom are still chasing each other around the ocean's shoreline.
"Not true," Geto attempts to retaliate, but the light pink hue of his cheeks immediately gives him away. You lift a finger, poking one of Geto's burning cheeks and smirking again at him.
"Sure about that?"
"Oh shush," Geto chuckles, placing his palm flat against your face and playfully shoving you away. Your laugh is caught by his skin, breath fanning against his palm. He smiles as he removes his hand, feeling his heart warm at the sight of the smile plastered onto your face.
"Hey! Lovebirds!" Riko calls out, cupping her hands over her mouth and smiling as she waves at both you and Geto. You turn your head to her, laughing as she places her hands on her hips. "Are you just gonna sit there the entire time?"
You grin at Geto, kissing his cheek fleetingly before pushing yourself to stand, closing the distance between yourself and Riko and placing your hands into her awaiting ones. She drags you gently into the water, laughing as you gasp at the cold water that licks at your ankles.
Suddenly, a spray of cold water hits your back. With a squeal, you turn to look at the culprit, positively fuming as Gojo stands proudly behind you, knelt in the water with his hands raised in the air. You glare at him, snapping your fingers and smirking to yourself as the water surrounding Gojo raises to his height, then completely dousing him in freezing saltwater.
Riko laughs, crossing her hands over her stomach and doubling over to follow the force of her laughter. You turn your head to smile at her, heart swelling at the sound of the young girl's laughter.
< … >
"What's Jujutsu Tech like?" Riko inquires curiously, falling into step with you as you walk ahead of Geto, Gojo, and Kuroi, all of whom had opted to remain a few steps behind you claiming that they were remaining on the lookout for any potential threats.
You hum in thought, folding your hands behind your back as you allow yourself to get lost in the scenery that surrounds you – thickened trees and hanging branches providing you with shade that is a welcome contrast to the blazing sun. You smile, tilting your head just enough to glance at Riko through your peripheral.
"Well, to us, it's like any other school. But to you, I'd assume it'll look like a castle," you respond jokingly, not failing to notice the smile that curls the corner of Riko's lips upward. She lets out a small giggle as she walks beside you, mimicking you and looking around at the trees that line the pathway to Jujutsu Tech's front entrance.
The silence that hangs over both you and Riko is comfortable, comfortable enough that she sidesteps towards you and affectionately knocks her shoulder against your own. You smile, turning your head to look at Riko, who only returns your smile just as brightly.
"Maybe somewhere else I could have gone to Jujutsu Tech with you," Riko mutters, her voice almost too quiet for you to hear. Her words tug at your heartstrings – in a way, you felt guilty that there was no real solution that you could offer. Her sole purpose was to serve as a vessel for Tengen, and it was your job to deliver her to Tengen so that he could continue...whatever it was that he did.
You swallow the lump in your throat, not knowing what to say. You had honestly wished for the same thing – maybe in some other universe you and Riko would have been able to attend school together. Maybe you would have trained her to become a strong Jujutsu Sorcerer. Maybe.
Softly, you reach out to interlock your fingers with hers, squeezing at her hand and willing yourself to smile at her. She returns it, though both of your lips are trembling with a deepened sadness. "Maybe. Don't think like that though. I'm glad we were able to spend time together in this one."
Riko's smile trembles slightly, her eyes shining with unshed tears. You chuckle breathily, reaching out with your thumb to swipe at her lash line, catching the tears just before they're able to fall. "Yeah," she agrees quietly, nodding her head at you.
"We're almost there," Geto calls out from behind your back, smiling softly at you as you turn to acknowledge him. You nod curtly, then returning your attention to Riko, who had squeezed your hand as you walked beneath the entrance archway.
"You ready Riko?"
Riko inhales deeply, feeling her worry ebb away as you squeeze at her fingers again.
"Yeah."
< ... >
"You okay?" Geto's voice is almost too quiet for you to hear, but your ears perk at his whisper nonetheless. You turn your head just enough to glance at him, blinking past the tears in your eyes as you silently watch Riko bid Kuroi farewell, squeezing at her caretaker and sobbing quietly into her shoulder.
You swallow the lump in your throat, lifting your hands and swiping your fingers against your eyes, not wanting to cry. Geto softens at your actions, letting out a small sigh through his nose – but he says nothing about your concealed tears, if anything, he understands.
"Yeah, m'fine," you murmur in response, forcing yourself to smile as Riko turns then to you, tears rolling down her cheeks as an aftermath to saying goodbye to Kuroi. The young girl quickly closes the distance between you, wrapping her arms around you and burying her face into the crook of your neck.
You sigh shakily, holding her tightly against you and resting your cheek against the side of her head. Her body shakes against your own, her tears staining the shoulder of your uniform – but you cannot care any less.
"Can you walk in with me?" Riko whispers into your shoulder, keeping her voice low enough so that only you can hear what she says. You feel yourself shakily smile, your arms momentarily squeezing around her.
"Of course," you whisper back, smiling as she disconnects herself from your arms to return your teary smile. "I'd never make you go in there alone, especially not with Suguru," you tease, both you and Riko sharing a tear-filled laugh as Geto loudly protests over your shoulder – but he smiles all the same.
The moment is soiled then by the remembrance of what you had come down to Tengen's for. You release your hold on Riko, opting instead to gently hold her hand as Geto begins to lead the pair of you down to Tengen.
The three of you walk in relative silence, Riko holding tightly onto your hand as she walks at your side. Every now and then, she sniffles softly – a sound that tugs at your heart the more that you listen to it. You squeeze at her hand as reassuringly as you can, offering her what you hope is a gentle smile – but even you know that the tremble in your lips is on full display.
Geto walks a few steps ahead of you and Riko, his hands stowed away in his pockets as he listens both to your trembled breathing and to Riko's soft sniffs. He would never admit it aloud, but he too felt as if Riko had taken on a younger sister role in his life – even though she had entered his life as nothing more than a package to be delivered. And he would never admit it aloud, but he somewhat wanted Riko to refuse the assimilation.
If not for his sake, then he hoped she would refuse for yours.
"Well, here we are," Geto says suddenly, stopping and looking down at Tengen's barrier. You and Riko stop at his side, hands still intwined as you both peer curiously around the room. Riko lifts her free hand to her eyes, swiping away the stray tears that lingered on her cheeks before she turns to you.
"I-I think I'm ready," she stutters out, swallowing the scared sob that claws at the base of her throat. You soften, turning momentarily to make fleeting eye contact with Geto, who only stares at both you and Riko with a softness that felt similar to that of a loving husband and older brother.
You nod at Geto, turning to Riko and removing your hand from her own and opting instead to place your palms flat atop her shoulders. You stare at her, and she returns your gaze with a curious pinch to her eyebrows.
"Riko, I want you to listen carefully to me. You don't have to do any of this. We could easily forget this assimilation entirely and go back to Kuroi and Satoru. Hell, I'll even take you back to Okinawa so that we could finish shopping together," you laugh through your tears, which roll freely down your cheeks. Riko stares back at you, slightly stunned.
"All you have to do is say the word," you whisper.
Riko swallows, feeling tears build in the backs of her eyes. Her rosy cheeks darken, her eyes crinkle, her lips tremble – she's on the verge of tears all over again.
Her eyes fall shut, her mind mulling over your words. Did she really want this assimilation? Or was she doing it simply because that's what everyone wanted her to do?
"I want to be with everyone longer," she pauses to hiccup, "I want to see all kinds of things and just do more!"
You smile softly at her, removing your hands from her shoulders and holding your hand out to her – just like you had done that day you met her.
She reaches for you, her lips turned upward in that soft smile that you had grown oh-so-fond of.
BANG!
Riko's body crumples to the side, falling to the floor with a dull and lifeless thud. You freeze, hand still extended, fingers twitching in waiting – still waiting for Riko's. Your eyes widen, mind unable to process anything but the incessant ringing in your ears.
At your side, Geto stands stiff as a board, his expression almost a perfect mirror of your own. His eyes wander down to Riko's body, gaze fixating itself on the steady stream of blood that pours from the bullet wound to the side of her head. Her eyes are open in everlasting shock, one final tear rolling down her face before it grossly mixes with the blood that surrounds her.
Your eyes shift only when you hear footsteps approaching, gaze flickering upward to watch as an unknown man strolls into the room, knocking the handle of his gun against his head. A smirk plays at the corner of his mouth, an amused glint to his tired eyes.
He doesn't say anything immediately, instead waiting to close the distance between himself, you, and Geto. The arm that holds his gun lowers to his side, and in a fit of mock curiosity, he tilts his head to the side.
"That was easier than I thought," he comments offhandedly, glancing between Riko's body and you. Your shoulders rise and fall in heaving breaths – breaths that you're unsure are heavy because of anger or sadness. You want so badly to rush the man and give him hell, but something holds you back from doing so.
Geto reaches out instinctively, moving your body behind his own protectively as the man draws closer. You let him – the ringing in your ears is strong enough to hold all of your attention. Your eyes return to Riko, praying that maybe – just maybe – she would stir and sit up. You could take her right back to Okinawa, and everything would be right again.
"(Y/N), get out of here," Geto says quietly, his voice nothing but a muffled buzz in your ears. You nod numbly at him, sidestepping around his body and making a break for the exit. You know that it's wrong – how blindly you listened to him and left him with someone that could potentially end his life.
You screw your eyes shut as you sprint down the hallway, feeling tears finally sting your eyes as the realization of what had happened seeps into the cracks of your mind. You'd failed. You had failed everything. You promised her that you'd protect her, that you would take her back to Okinawa, that you would show her the world that she had been so scared to lose.
A harsh sob rips from your chest as you skid to a stop, doubling over and placing your hands on your knees. Underneath the weight of your guilt, you crumble. Your knees strike the ground as your hands grip at your chest now, clawing at the fabric of your uniform as if it suffocates you.
You bow your head down, gritting your teeth as your body shakes with the weight of your sobs. Your hair shades down over your face, creating a veil around it and preventing anyone from looking directly at you. Your lips part, and from the deepest depths of your throat, you scream.

Movie night tonight?
Sent : 06:15
Pressing two fingers against the side of your phone, you silence it, then tossing the device as far away from yourself as you can. The clatter of the phone against the floor does little to stir you – the comfort of your sheets was stronger than any Cursed Energy, and you'd be damned if you were leaving it.
How long had it been since that day anyway?
Days? Weeks?
Hell -- it could have been months. In truth, you didn't know. The days had started melding together a very long time ago, everything felt the same – nothing was new. Everything felt bleak, like an old movie that you had accidentally left on perpetual repeat.
You turn over in bed, facing the wall. Your eyes feel heavy, but the moment that you close them you know exactly what it is that you'll see. You'll see whatever wisps you have left of her.
Do you even remember what she looks like anymore?
Your chest tightens at the realization, and instinctively your body curls inward. Your knees touch your chest as you adjust yourself into a fetal position, screwing your eyes shut and biting back the sobs as they rise in your throat.
There wasn't a day that went by where you didn't blame yourself. You were a Sorcerer, you were quite literally trained to protect the people around you. But no, you were so focused on convincing her on a situation that she was already decided on – you failed to protect her because of your own selfishness.
God forbid you had lifted your head, even if it was just to sneak a peek at the rest of Tengen's barrier. Would you have spotted him? Wait, of course you would've – Geto had once complimented your ability to keep your head on a constant swivel.
You could've activated your Cursed Technique, you were always the swiftest of your classmates. You could've saved her – Riko would have been fine.
But you didn't do any of that. Instead, you held her shoulders and tried to play mother dearest. It was your tear-filled monologue that got her killed.
"Fuck," you mutter, the dull ache in your chest deepening as you spiral into a pit of your own regret. Your hand comes to bunch up the fabric of your shirt, clawing at it as if it were choking you. "'M sorry..."
You can feel yourself beginning to cry, but your body is unable to produce a fresh round of tears. You whimper quietly, lips parting to release the soft sobs that you had been forcefully holding in your chest. The sheets that cover your shoulders shake in sync with you – but they continue to serve their purpose in keeping you concealed from the world.
Across your room, you can hear your phone buzzing against the ground. Suguru.
How long had it been since you last saw Suguru?
It felt like you were punishing yourself, keeping yourself holed up in your room and limiting your interactions with anyone – Gojo, Geto, and Shoko felt more like figments of your imagination. They felt like strangers to you. And in a way, maybe they were.
Your thoughts are interrupted by a knock at your door. The ringing in your ears dies down, leaving you alone in the silence of your room – you almost wish for the ringing to come back. Any noise was better than none at all, and with the way your mind had been whispering lately, you'd rather an incessant ring.
You turn your head halfway, yet you don't move from the familiar comfort of your bed.
"(Y/N)? Baby, it's me." It's Geto. Fuck, it's Geto.
You don't answer, shifting back to your original position and sighing shakily. Even though every part of you wants to open that door and promptly collapse into his arms, you force yourself to remain rooted to your place. You force your eyes shut, praying that your silence would turn him away.
"It's been – God – I don't even know how long it's been. We're – I'm worried about you," Geto pauses, likely to swallow the growing lump in his throat, "I just want to know if you're okay."
Your lips wobble, and for the first time in days you feel the familiar sensation of tears sliding down your cheeks. Your hands curl around your sheets, tugging them impossibly further around you.
On the floor, your phone buzzes again. For a moment, you wonder just how many unread messages you have. How many were from Gojo? Or Geto? Or Shoko? Or maybe you were just imagining the sounds, maybe they really didn't care at all.
"Please open the door." He sounds so desperate, so broken. The fact that it was your fault that he felt so helpless only added to your already debilitating guilt and regret. Your punishment was making everyone else suffer – you were the reason why everyone was worried. Selfish, selfish, selfish.
And you want to. You want to stand from your bed and open the door, you want to fall into Geto's arms and sit with him in nothing but that comfortable silence that always followed you when you were with him. You craved it – or rather you craved the normalcy of it all.
Selfishly, you don't. You close your eyes and telepathically will Geto to just leave. A little part of you hopes that he won't, but the rest of you wants him to.
You know that he won’t leave though — knowing Geto he was definitely sitting with his back against your door, waiting patiently for you to either respond or let him in.
A shame that you would do neither.
Your hands curl into white-knuckled fists with the strength of your grip, keeping your eyes glued shut and praying — no — hoping that Geto would just leave you to rot.
“Y’know, we can talk about whatever you’re thinking about.”
You sigh shakily, opening your eyes and staring blankly at your wall. He’d never leave you to rot, even if you shoved and begged him.
Talk? What would talking do? Would it bring back the piece of you that was ripped from your hands and shattered like nothing?
Your body turns halfway, ears pricked and patiently waiting for Geto to continue. Shockingly, you want him to keep talking. It’s a nice distraction.
“I don’t know what exactly you’re thinking right now, and I know that you definitely don’t want to delve into it,” Geto pauses to exhale shakily — it makes you wonder if he’s out there crying. "I want to help you, you've helped me through so many rough patches and the fact that you're not letting me help you now...it's killing me."
Go.
Your hands push at your sheets, the cool air from your dorm hugging at your exposed legs. Your body cracks as you stand from your bed, but you ignore the dull ache in your bones. The distance between your bed and the door once seemed like a never ending hallway, one with twists and turns that would throw you off course and make you return to the starting point.
Oddly enough, now that distance seems much shorter.
You walk across your room, stepping past your phone on the floor and pausing just as you reach the door. You stare silently at the wood, eyes drifting down to the doorhandle. You were so close, if you just lifted your hand-
"I love you so much (Y/N). So please, let me help you."
Your eyes fall shut, body curling back from the door. With invisible hands, your sheets call out to you, beckoning you sweetly to return to what was familiar – back to square one.
You shake your head, turning on your heel and lowering yourself to the floor, your back sliding down the door until you're sitting on the floor. Your knees curl up to your chest, arms winding around them in a self-hug as you lean your head back, listening quietly to Geto's shaky breathing on the other side.
< … >
Bzzt. Bzzt.
One year.
You stare blankly down at the reminder, thumb quickly jerking to delete its existence. It had been a miracle enough that you'd made it six months – a year didn't really feel real to you. Not yet at least.
You knew deep down that it would sink in later, when you weren't surrounded by people and when you were sitting in the twisted comfort of your own sadness. But now, you had to act like a person, not a puppet who just happened to wear human skin.
In front of you stands Gojo, Geto, and Shoko. For the better part of an hour, Shoko had been trying to teach both boys about her Reverse Cursed Technique, wanting them to be able to heal themselves so that she wouldn't have to exert herself every time that they returned from missions.
But just like everything else that they did together, Geto and Gojo were about as intelligent as two monkeys attempting to complete a Rubix cube. In any other circumstance, you would have laughed at them and teased them endlessly.
Now?
Now you stared blankly at them, eyes devoid of anything that might have rendered you human. All of those sleepless nights had finally caught up to you, claiming your body like a demon would its unfortunate host. You wanted to crack a smile, prove to them that you had healed somewhat since everything had happened – but they knew just as well as you that it would be another one of the many lies spoken by your tongue.
"C'mon Shoko, you know we can't do this," Gojo complains loudly, his voice an incessant whine as he leans forward, glancing over the rims of his glasses to send a playful glare in Shoko's direction. She rolls her eyes at him, hands holding her hips as she waves a finger in his face.
"Would you stop complaining?" Geto retaliates, reaching a hand over and whacking the back of the snowy-haired male's head. He yelps at the contact, both of his hands cupping the back of his head.
"Ow! (Y/N), come and control him!" Gojo turns to you for salvation, but pauses at the expression on your face. Your lips are downturned in a half-frown, eyes staring at nothing in particular. He glances at Geto, who had also turned to look at you.
"(Y/N)?" he calls out to you. His voice has your head shaking, bringing yourself back to reality and breaking you from whatever trance you had fallen victim to. "Everything okay love?"
You're quick to nod, sending Geto what you think is a smile – but it resembles more of a poor attempt at a smirk. "Fine," you answer quickly. His heart sinks, he wants so desperately to take every bit of pain that you constantly shouldered, but you were so adamant on dealing with everything on your own that he had simply...stepped to the side.
Shoko claps her hands together, effectively redirecting all attention to herself – an action that you were thankful for. It was one thing to be constantly doted on by your boyfriend, but to then drag in both of your best friends? Saying that you felt like a complete burden would be the understatement of the century.
Gojo turns his attention back to Shoko without a second thought; he had never been good with emotions, and watching your downward spiral was something that he just...couldn't help with. He wanted to, God, of course he wanted to. But he lacked the understanding of how to do it.
Geto is hesitant to turn around, not wanting you to think that he was turning his back on you. The last thing that he wanted was for you to suffer in silence, even though that seemed to be the one thing that you wanted. No, he loved you far too much to let you crumble to your own demons. So he gripped his sword in his hand and fought them at your side – no matter how much you kicked and screamed at him to go away.
You sigh shakily, teeth catching your bottom lip as the reminder from your phone flickers across your memory again. One whole year.
Even with a whole year having gone by, that regret and guilt still followed you like a stray dog. The moment that you muttered to yourself, "I'm okay," that dog would nip at you with a force that sent you crumbling to the ground.
You look upward, blinking away the tears that burn the backs of your eyes and focusing all of your attention on the trio in front of you.
< … >
“What do you mean (Y/N)’s gone?” Geto asks with an incredulous raise of his eyebrows, looking at Gojo as if he had sprouted another head.
Gojo inhales deeply, bracing his hands on his knees as a result of sprinting so wildly at Geto once he had heard news of your sudden disappearance.
“(Y/N) left. Shoko said that she tried to get her to stay, but it was no use,” Gojo says breathlessly. Geto shakes his head, not wanting to believe anything that Gojo was saying — but the expression on his face douses Geto with the cold reality that this was really happening. You were gone.
“Where did she go?”
“No idea, she didn’t say a word,” Gojo answers, taking a mental note of the unbridled worry swirling in Geto’s eyes. “We’re going to look for her, right?”
“What do you think?” Geto says in a matter-of-fact tone, already striding past Gojo. The snowy-haired male is quick to follow, falling into step with his best friend.
The silence that hangs over the both of them is tense, neither of them wanting to say anything to the other in fear of further souring the mood.
Geto’s teeth catch his bottom lip, digging down into the supple flesh. His mind wanders, thinking of where you could have gone and just what you could be doing. He should’ve done more to help — he should’ve been there for you just as much as you had been there for him.
How had he let you spiral down that far? He felt like a bystander in a situation where he should have been standing right at your side, he should have been holding your hand just as tightly as you had always held his.
“Hey, there you are,” Geto says softly, smiling so gently at you as you open your door — finally revealing yourself to him after hiding in the shadows for however long.
You remain silent, rubbing a hand over your tear-stained cheeks. Your eyes, so dead and tired, flicker up to meet Geto’s — which soften upon studying your clear cut exhaustion.
“Oh sweet girl,” he whispers, opening his arms to you and embracing you tightly as you step into them. Your face buries into his shoulder, absorbing the familiarity of his hug. “I’m here.”
Your body shakes as another round of sobs wracks through your body, nails biting into Geto’s back. He ignores the stinging sensation your nails leave behind — focusing everything on making you feel comforted.
“I’ll go look this way, you’ll be okay on your own?” Gojo confirms, casting one last glance over his shoulder at Geto.
The dark-haired male nods, his focus solely on finding you and bringing you home. He would be damned if he would leave you alone again — you deserved to have someone to comfort you in the same way that you constantly comforted others.
“Text if you need me ‘kay?” Gojo says, reaching out and lightly pressing his knuckles against Geto’s shoulder. The latter nods, and just like that the tuft of snowy hair disappears into the surrounding crowd.
As Geto walks, he once again allows his mind to wander — thinking about little warning signs that he overlooked. Maybe there was something that you said or did that had a double meaning, yeah, that had to be it.
His eyes glaze over with unshed tears as he desperately searches for you among the unfamiliar faces, all of them a blur as he tries to find you. All he wanted was to bring you home, give you the proper help that you so desperately needed.
If he could just-
“(Y/N)!” There. There’s that head of hair that he had once spent hours playing with. It turns upon hearing the call of his voice — it really is you.
But at the same time…it isn’t you. The (Y/N) staring at him feels different to the (Y/N) that he asked out in the serenity of his school dorm.
This (Y/N) is cold and dead — a walking corpse at best.
You stare blankly at Geto for a moment, eyes silently asking him what it is that he wants from you.
“Hey, what’s going on?” he practically begs, bravely reaching out to hold your wrist, preventing you from curling away from him.
Your eyes momentarily flicker down to his hand, staring at the strain of his fingers before your gaze returns to his — you don’t fail to notice the tears he holds back. You felt awful that you were the reason why he was crying.
“Nothing’s going on,” you answer indifferently. He shakes his head at you, you were lying.
“You can’t really be saying that. You’ve been…you changed.”
“Have you ever stopped to think about why?” you raise an eyebrow at him, voice suddenly laced with a venom that he had never heard from you before. Slowly, his grip on your wrist loosens until he doesn’t hold it anymore, eyes never once leaving yours even as you focus on other things.
“What?” His voice is breathy, a whisper. He doesn’t understand, why were you suddenly being so brash with him? He had only been trying to help you all this time — right?
You remain silent, not knowing how to elaborate without getting emotional all over again. You were a Sorcerer, you were meant to protect. The one person you were meant to protect was gone. And now you could barely live with the consequences.
But Geto just thinks that you’re in mourning. No, no, it’s so much more than just simple mourning.
“Have you ever stopped to think about why I changed?” you reiterate, tilting your head at Geto. He steps forward, keeping the distance between you both as short as he can — he can’t lose you, not again.
Geto mulls your question over in his head, which he then shakes in response. You let out a small sigh through your nose, already feeling that familiar mixture of regret and sadness building in your stomach.
“Do you know what it’s like — to regret everything that you’ve ever done in your life?” you mutter, glancing up at Geto. For the first time, he notices just how dead you truly look. Those bright eyes now dull, your cheeks sunken in, your lips permanently turned downward in a frown.
“Sorcerers are meant to protect people, right? We’re meant to step in and help the ones that can’t help themselves,” you begin, finding your footing and finally vomiting out all of the words that had been building up somewhere in your stomach.
Geto watches silently, not knowing what to say or do. All he can do is listen.
“What the fuck are we meant to do when we can’t save everyone? The ones who can’t protect themselves die, and what are we left to do?”
Geto pauses, realization sinking into his bones. Riko. You blamed yourself for what happened to Riko — how the fuck had he not noticed that before?
He had somewhat of an idea that it was Riko who had caused you to spiral downward, but he didn’t know that it was her death that had turned your entire opinion of being a Sorcerer.
Just how much had Riko meant to you?
“You and Satoru might be okay shouldering that guilt. But I’m just — I’m not,” you say honestly, running your hand through your hair and chuckling dryly. Geto steps forward, reaching for you.
You step back, effectively creating a distance between the two of you. He falters, silently watching.
“(Y/N)-“
“Be a Sorcerer, yeah?” you glance tearfully at him. For the first time in months, you smile, lips turning upward as you nod at him. “Be the protector that people need you to be.”
Geto shakes his head, stepping forward again and silently begging you to come to him.
You don’t.
“Baby. Stop. Just-“ He pauses as he watches you, noticing your body tilting back to follow your backwards steps.
“Be the shield that people need Suguru,” you whisper, voice barely audible over the footsteps that surround you. He shakes his head again, fingers extending to you.
Like a wisp in the night, you vanish into the crowd. Geto’s fingers close around nothing, and his eyes desperately search for you amongst the blurred faces.
But you’re gone, just like that.
And he would never see you again.

i can't get over the fact that suguru used past tense
「he was my best friend」
while satoru uses present tense
「my best friend found it... my one and only」
he spent over a decade under the impression that satoru was mad at him. that they were no longer best friends because he left.
「we got into a fight and, well...」
well, what, suguru? i don't think he even knows how to finish that sentence if he were saying it to himself.
but maybe he uses past tense because he himself removed the title from his name. maybe he didn't feel worthy enough to be gojo satoru's best friend.
maybe he thinks he knows satoru better than he actually does. because maybe sometimes there was a bitter taste on his tongue whenever he called his found home his family. thinking it would offend satoru. "we were your family" he could practically hear gojo say. maybe sometimes he turns to his family with a sad smile because he once used to turn around to see different people. the people he left to protect. what he was doing was for them. for satoru, for shoko, for nanami, for haibara, for amanai and kuroi. so he wouldn't have to watch them all drop like flies just like haibara did.
maybe he put the title on hold. until one day. until one day he could face satoru and tell him that they didn't have to be strong anymore. they could be weak and they could be together because there was nothing in the way anymore.
「trust? i thought that was something i lost a long time ago... at least curse me a little at my end」

Solitude makes many a tough decision too easy to make.
However, is one truly ever 'one'? Or are they 'one' from a collection of many such 'one's' — guaranteed to be affected by the actions of one another?
Strictly isolated systems are mere hypotheses, anyways.
[Alternatively: Amanai Riko's life overlaps with that of three young students from Tokyo Jujutsu High for only fifty-five hours, yet the effects they leave on her and the effects she leaves on them– they can be felt even after a period of one-hundred-and-fifty-five months.]

DAY 1; 11:44
Yours is a beautiful, awful life when it's the one chosen for the sake of all.
Everyone everywhere will remain smiling, crying, speaking, yelling, moving – living, if put in a word– yet you'll be nothing more than a name and, if lucky, a fading face filed away in a mind. Yet, yet, yet– everyone everywhere will remain smiling, crying, speaking, yelling, moving— and one young Amanai Riko thinks that's what makes her fate so bearable.
Too bad one of her three bodyguards doesn't think along such lines.
"She's too young to die. Why is she even agreeing to this merger?"
Your quiet voice breaks Riko's scuttling from one room to another, in search of the things she needs for school.
Craning her neck, she peeks into the room, only to find you standing by the windows, holding a cup of tea delicately as you look intently at your companions. Geto's shoulders rise and fall in a short sigh. Gojo gets up from his slouch on the couch to drape an arm round you.
The girl thinks it's the softest she has seen the goggles-wearing boy appear in the time you all have been here.
(Honestly, this is the first time she is seeing Gojo act so careful and you, so disquietened, in the three hours the three of you have been here—
A jarring contrast to the way the boy introduced you as 'the coolest and hottest jujutsu sorcerer ever' who also happens to be his 'better half' while you greeted them with a beam (which did not reach your eyes) and turned away, focus switching to your beeping mobile.)
(Geto looked like an old grandpa then, when he whispered to Kuroi, a wide smile on his face as he looked at you, how difficult it was for the two of you to get together as a couple – and how happy and relieved he and your other friends are now, watching the two of you be so very in love with each other. Kuroi let out only a tiny quiet sigh with a small gentle smile at his words.)
Your boyfriend's voice pulls her away from her mind.
"You heard the brat, didn't you? She is Tengen-sama; Tengen-sama is her. So she isn't really going to die; she's going to live forever and ever and eve–"
"I thought I was the one who couldn't read between lines well in this relationship, 'Toru," you interrupt him, frowning. Riko finds it too hard to stifle the giggle that threatens to follow – albeit, the threat doesn't stay strong for long, vanishing away at your next words. Thrown into the room, a mix of visible anger and despair.
"The kid was obviously spouting all that nonsense, more as a means to convince herself than to convince us," you say; the young student considers bursting into the room, exclaiming she ain't a little kid, yet a voice in her urges her to stay put outside the door. Begrudgingly, she listens to it. You continue, tone the same as before.
"There's some part in Riko-chan which doesn't really want to merge with Master Tengen, but a burden once dumped on one's shoulders has to be carried, and Riko-chan has no option left but to choke that wily voice in her head until it quietens forever."
Gojo's eyes drift over to the door once. A bit startled and a lot scared, Riko shrinks into herself, yet budges not an inch from her spot. Focus returning to your puckered features, the junior high schooler watches him croon softly into your ears, "Babe, how about we discuss–"
"I don't think there'll be a later, Satoru," you say, then exhale air out in a burst of clear frustration, "And I seriously cannot understand how in this world you and Geto senpai can be so relaxed about this? Y'all are answering Yaga's calls as if Riko's an important but lifeless mail, while we three are some FedEx employees and not three sorcerers leading a girl a few years younger than us to her death, grinning and singing."
The cup in your grasp looks dangerously close to shattering; not to mention the way your cursed energy swells and swells until it comes too close to suffocating the hell out of her — it ebbs away faster than it came.
Face morphing into an easy smile, the girl watches you slip out from under your boyfriend's arm and walk over to her. She wishes the grin she shoots back is half as bright as she hopes it is.
"Hey, Riko-chan," you greet, voice shifting into a soothing melody, "Ready to go to school? Geto senpai's already called the driver. He must be waiting downstairs."
"Oh, I see," Riko responds, a bit lost as her gaze rakes over your face, then darts over to the two still in the room. The weird-bangs-sorcerer offers a small smile while he cuts an apple into slices. The other boy's eyes remain trained on the back of your head, upbeat nature nowhere to be seen.
She looks back at you. Kuroi asks her to hurry via a frantic yell of her name. The girl sighs and slowly moves into the direct line of sight of everyone.
"Have any of you seen a thin blue notebook anywhere? I can't find my music no– OH MY GOD, ONEE-CHAN!!! YOUR STUPID AS HECK BOYFRIEND DID NOT JUST MAKE PAPER PLANES OUT OF MY NOTES, DID HE!?!?"
———
DAY 2; 19:55
"Satoru is not really bad, y'know?"
Your comment arrives few hours and many adventures later – though Riko wonders how much of an adventure they were for you or the two upperclassmen of yours, given the way you three were kicking ass for the entirety of the time, both before and after Kuroi was captured.
Lips curving into a teasing smile – one which the woman, taking care of her since the latter's childhood, shares – the teenager returns her attention to you.
You blink back, a tiny smile playing with the corner of your lips before it widens, digging into your cheeks and crinkling your eyes.
"What?" you ask with a giggle, "Is there something on my face? Or is suggesting my boyfriend to be kind of good really that outlandish of a concept?"
"Hmm, do you want the nice answer or the honest answer?" Riko asks back, plopping a spoonful of the ice cream you bought, then breaking into a shiver as her brain freezes from how insanely cold it is. Neither you nor Kuroi bothering to hide your chuckles, you hum. "I'm not sure which I will find honest and which, nice; why don't you shoot both my way, Riko-chan?" you suggest then add, mirth gleaming in your voice, "Of course, when you're okay again, only then."
The girl thinks of retorting to you with a silent glare but opts to think better of it. Couple of minutes pass in almost silence, Kuroi and you chit-chatting about Okinawa in general while the three of you amble down the sidewalk lining the inky-black sea, casting eerie shadows in the sparse lights dotting the streets — when she decides to reply to your suggestion from before.
"I don't really think Gojo-san is a bad person," She says, stopping and offering you a smile over her shoulder. You too stop and accept it with a bright smile of your own.
Riko continues, "I mean, yeah, he's very, very annoying all the time – making fun of me and calling me a kid or brat – but if you chose him to be your boyfriend, I guess he's kind of fine. Maybe. Plus, you don't really seem to have a bad taste," she adds with an appreciative once-over at the sundress you're wearing.
You crack an amused grin. Riko turns to her caretaker. "C'mon, Kuroi. Tell onee-chan. She has a pretty nice taste in outfits, doesn't she?"
"Yeah, you do," the other woman is quick to agree with a kind grin, "I suppose Riko-sama is correct in saying this; although, Riko-sama..." trailing off, Kuroi smiles at the addressed girl the way she used to in her childhood, whenever the latter used to babble the stuff children always do, and gently rebukes.
"Having a good taste in outfits is not the best indicator of someone's taste in men. You must never view a person from an angle as shallow as that."
"Kuroi-san is right, Riko-chan," you pitch in your two cents an instant later, then cast the woman beside you a sly glance, "Though I wonder if that was an indirect criticism of 'Toru... I hope it wasn't – was it?"
"No, of course not," Kuroi denies with a small laugh. Riko watches you crack a freer smile at her words, which slowly softens when you move your gaze back to her. The ice cream in her hand seems four seconds away from melting; still the girl decides to ignore it in favour of giving you her undivided attention.
(Ever since she met you three, you've always struck the young girl as someone a bit... different.
From the way you train your focus on your opponents during a fight; to the way you speak, neither too loud nor too quiet, just the perfect loudness and pitch required to snatch everyone's attention and keep them for yourself; to the way you carry yourself, neither as pompous arrogant akin Gojo nor as discreet smug as Geto, but as a girl who is aware of her worth and won't hesitate to show another their place, if the need so arises.
Riko thinks if she lived a little longer, she might have wanted to make you her role model. Not that it matters now, though.)
Your musing voice break through her thoughts.
"Satoru was the one who suggested this trip," you say, sharing a half-smile with Kuroi, "The best option would have been to take you back to the school as soon as possible, where you and Kuroi-san would be safe and sound. Plus, our mission too would have been complete. An extra feather to our cap, given we delivered the Star Plasma Vessel to Tengen-sama and secured the foundations the entire Japan is based on. Yet he argu–"
You abruptly fall silent, the loving look on your face withering to one of helplessness and profound sadness when the ticking hands of the wrist watch you wear catches your eye; and you shove your emotions beneath a forced chuckle.
"Oh no, it's almost eight," you say, a faux buoyancy to your words, "Do you wanna go back to the hotel and have dinner there, Riko? Or some place outside, maybe? Our schedule's packed tomorrow – our littlest Riko-chan needs some good sleep tonight to not be fussy tomorrow, doesn't she?"
Glancing at Kuroi, only to find her with the same tense cheerfulness, Riko stifles a sigh and parts her lips into a mirthful beam she doesn't feel at all.
"I really wanna try the soki soba and the yashigani. Do you know any good restaurants nearby?"
You nod exaggeratedly, lips thinning into a solemn line though the faint ray of fun can still be made through the grey clouds cast over your irises. "Don't you worry, Riko sama. Your two faithful servants will certainly find a place to dine to your liking. You just keep being the cute little princess that you are."
The girl opens her mouth to snap back at being called a little girl yet again – you aren't very different from your boyfriend, after all – then shuts it, then opens it again, a teasing giggle wanting to bubble out.
"Y'know, onee-chan," she says, skipping over to you and smiling in an innocent fashion, "I answered your second question, but I never gave a reply to the first one – you wanna know it?"
You take a second before shrugging. "Um, yeah, why not?"
Throwing a mischievous glance to Kuroi, who hides her mouth with a palm and looks away, shoulders shaking a little, Riko returns her eyes to your expectant smile. And beckoning you to come near, whispers.
"There isn't anything on your face. But the foundation's on your neck and shoulders is kind of off, I guess. Were you bitten by a bug, onee–"
An obnoxiously cheery ringtone cuts the girl off. Your face burning a deep hue of coyness, she watches you pluck your phone out of your bag, then walk a few steps away, voice dropping to a hushed murmur – which takes a minute before growing shrill then silent. Your cheeks and ears sport the deepest shade of red Riko's ever seen.
Asking them for a little more time, grin so sheepish and flustered, you whirl on your heels and walk a couple of feet away, your hand fiddling with the Okinawa keychain your boyfriend bought you today at noon.
Lips quirking in a fond smile, Riko looks away from your shy giggling figure to the chuckling Kuroi, to the big ocean waves crashing on the sands below.
Yeah, it might've been good to have a chance at a bit longer life.

DAY 3; 15:08
This is not good.
Oh heavens no. This is so not good.
Tears springing forth and streaming down her cheeks, Riko moves to take a step towards you. Then, stills when you put up a bloodied hand asking her to stop. Face scrunched into a smile which, the little vessel knows, conveys nothing of the agony tearing at your insides; you cast a glance at the gaping hole in your palm, then drift your gaze back to her.
Something acidic and pungent surges to the girl's mouth — though not at you, never at you – but at herself, the sole reason why you're clutching your profusely bleeding wound, left by the bullet originally meant for her; why Geto stands shocked and numb, with a hundred curses looming round the room, ready to attack at the slightest hint of an order; why Gojo's probably lying near the torii gates, dead and swarmed by cursed maggots – if what she heard less than a minute back, isn't a lie, that is.
Judging from the sharp gasp of air you drew in then — it isn't, Riko thinks.
Your smile stays as pathetically serene as ever; the only traitor now being those rivulets of grief carving their courses on your face. You part your lips in a heart-wrenching plea.
"Run, Riko-chan. Run to a place far from here. Somewhere none can find you. And don't ever come back. Please."
Shaking her head a 'No!' as fiercely as she can, the girl bites back her sobs. A cold hand pulls her by the shoulder towards the entrance; she keeps her feet firmly planted to the ground.
Everything was going so, so well– why then did this abominable man have to appear out of nowhere and upend everything in her life? Only when she realized she did not want to be the sacrifice for the sake of everyone else, and that, she too could afford an ounce of selfishness — why then did this man have to appear and extinguish that singular flame of hope lit in her world? Why, why, why—
A harsh bark of a laughter barges into her thoughts.
Your eyes develop a pinch of panic as they travel from the man you froze in the entrance to them, then back to him. The victim of your cursed technique sneers.
"You're that girl with the psychic powers, aren't ya? Thought you can only use your power to kill a person; since when can you freeze them like a statue, eh— can see, hear and feel everything, but can't move a single muscle, except to speak, huh? Or, no, wait–" A second raucous laugh rings through the halls and corridors; you clench your wounded hand into a fist so tight, she thinks she too can feel the pain weighing on your senses right now.
The assassin jeers, "You must be so, so tired to not be able to kill this poor cursed energy-less bastard, hm? And on top of all that, you also must not have refined the technique enough to shut me up, yeah?" A vein throbs in your temple; the man speaks, more gleeful than ever.
"And given how I'm slowly losing the numbness in my arms and legs... your technique is so fucking weak, girl. And the jujutsu society called you their messiah, eh? Fucking fools, the whole lot. Their six eyes in a pool of his blood outside while their other trump card's soon to meet a similar miserable end at this monkey's hands. How funny, ain't it?"
Giving no semblance of a reply to him, you turn your eyes back to her – no, to Geto who's standing behind her – and urge him, so desperate and desolate, every breath you take a short jerky heave of your chest, "Take Riko somewhere safe, senpai. And don't return till you've gotten help. Now, go. Quick."
Craning her neck upwards, the teenager catches a glimpse of the boy grasping her shoulder firmly — hoping he'll refuse to listen to you and stay right there, fighting the monster right beside you — but finds no fragment of dissent on his face.
Extreme reluctance? Yes.
Profound melancholy? Yes.
Stifling resignation? Yes, yes, yes.
But dissent? No.
It makes an appearance, now and then, but never persists for long.
She makes yet another attempt to get closer to you.
"Onee-chan, no," Riko begs, snarling and thrashing from under Geto's unyielding hold on her arm now, "please don't do this. I wanna live my life to the fullest, but I cannot if I don't have y'all beside me. So, you–"
"Riko-chan, no–"
"–ask me to go away like an escapist coward–"
"Riko-chan, listen–"
"–staying right over here, next to–"
"RIKO!"
The harsh call of her name makes the girl stumble and stutter. It isn't you who called her so; it's Geto, peering down at her with moisture in his eyes. An ugly sob crawls out her throat. He mumbles, "You're way too young to understand all this, but know that, if you're out there in the world– safe, free and happy– the Star Plasma Vessel mission can be marked successful only then. Whatever sacrifices all of us made or are going to make today," a glance at you shows the bittersweet smile you're wearing; Riko's wails worsen, "they won't make any sense if, at the end of the day, you're harmed. So, please listen to us and escape with Kuroi-san, yeah?"
The man to her not-so-distant left flexes his fingers a bit. The three of you look at him before looking at one another. You look a few minutes away from passing out, skin paling and breaths growing labored with every second that elapses.
Eyes screwn shut, Riko lets go of the fight she was harbouring in her body. Geto's voice breaks with unshed moisture. "Try not to die, kid. I already lost a best friend today, don't wanna lose a sister too."
Riko doesn't need to open her eyes to know your reaction; the heart-rending sob paired with the "No promises, aniki," you let out tells her enough – before your cursed energy expands yet again, and a chilled palm pulls her by the hand into a swift run, the hit of her shoes on the floor echoing in the stuffy underground air.
Air which soon switches from the suffocation of ancience to that of blood and death — the teenager takes but a moment to realize who the person is. Biting down harshly on her lower lip, she swallows the raw anguish tearing her sinews apart, and keeps her eyes shut firm.
Willing the darkness reigning behind her eyelids to overtake every part of her body – especially her mind, being hurtled one memory after another, and another – Kuroi making her lunch for school; Kuroi teaching her to tie her braids; Kuroi congratulating for every success of hers and supporting her after every failure, be it big or small; Kuroi being the family she once thought she had lost in a car crash–
The sharp ding of the lift and the crackling warmth of the sun on her tear-stained cheeks are the last two things Riko registers, before the world round her fades away into a noiseless black — finally.
———
DAY 4718; 16:02
"Anableps can see both above and below the water at the same time, y'know?"
The statement and the awed "Woo!" that follows it rouses Riko from the siesta she was teetering on the brink of. She yawns and rubs her eyes. Then yawns again, a bit more subdued this time, considering a family walks past her.
Uni's been very stressful of late, and to top it all off, the woman who's supposed to handle this shift has called in sick – so, as fucking same as before, the manager is gonna call in some newbie to work instead.
The newbie being none other than Riko – very unfortunately – on a tiring Friday afternoon as today.
At least, the job pays well and she gets to spend time explaining fish and their world to excited kids, plus the occasional one or two adults who look a touch different from their usual bored indifference.
But, of course, there's always a group of friends who come bounding in.
Worse than a class of kindergarten children fighting for the single toy of a dinosaur their teacher has brought — Riko avoids such crowds of like the plague. Storming past them, turning down their query, asking a coworker to fill in for her – the young grad student applies all tricks and methods known to her to escape the situation.
To escape the familiar buzz of cheer and enthusiasm.
To escape the familiar weight of nostalgia and gloom.
To escape the—
"Um, miss, where can we find the whale sharks' tank? Heard it's the main attraction here... And, uh, we're also a little lost, actually."
Trains of thought thrown off-track, the young woman squeezes her eyes shut, then opens them again, a customer service smile flitting onto her lips as she turns back. And holds back a very exasperated groan. Why the fuck did Mio had to leave for a snacks break now of the innumerable times she could have gone before? And why does this crowd have to be the very thing she hates dealing with? Ugh... Never mind–
"Just turn to your left, go down the corridor, then to your right. You'll find the whale sharks there."
The pink-haired boy accepts the reply with a nod and a bright thanks, before the black-haired boy places a hand on his shoulder and he falls quiet. The latter looks strangely familiar, Riko thinks... ignoring it, she shoots the boys a quizzical smile. "Is there anything else you would to like to ask or—"
"You're my mom's friend. I've seen your pictures at home," he cuts her off, brows furrowing. His friend looks at him, so perplexed, not much unlike how Riko's feeling. He pays no mind, continuing, "You attended a Catholic school, love music and aquatic life, and have an obsession with coconut crab meat and soba, don't you?"
"Megumi..." A slightly older girl standing behind them with two girls donning identical t-shirts, begins in a lightly chastising tone, but the tour guide feels she's miles away from them. Catholic school, music lessons, aquariums, soki soba, yashigani, Okinawa... it simply cannot be you—
"Tsumiki! Mimiko!" A voice, Riko once was under the impression she'll never be hearing again, except in nightmares, rings through the near-empty hall of the aquarium, soon followed by the appearing of a face she thought she'll never see again, except in the sole photograph left with her on the phone Geto gave her, besides 5000 円 and contacts he asked her to get in touch with, as soon as possible, that evening a good twelve years ago in Osaka.
You reach a stop before the group, a young brown-haired girl trailing you with a worried scowl on her face. Dumbstruck, Riko watches you sigh and pinch the bridge of your nose.
"I can understand Nana-chan's phone is busy being used in clicking photos but the same excuse cannot be extended to you, can it? No. So, why on earth can't any of you four pick your mobile up when I'm calling you, hm? Or please don't tell me the batteries are dead. Again."
The blonde girl, presumably Nana-chan, smiles smugly while three out of the addressed four kids shoot a sheepish smile your way. Your frown slowly gives way to a fond grin and you huff a chuckle, shaking your head – which only grows in intensity when the girl following you lets out an annoyed hmph! and launches into a tirade how extremely worried the two of you were and how much dumb and careless them five are.
Eyes welling over with emotions percolated over the course of many, many years, Riko watches you grin so freely — only for it to still and fade when the spiky-haired boy says he has met your friend from the photograph, and you look from him to her standing inconspicuously, half-hidden in the shadows.
A painfully slow second passes.
The entire gaggle of kids falls quiet at the disbelieving watery chuckle you let out. Taking two steps forwards, she offers you a mirror image of your expression.
"Told you the aquarium's fun, didn't I?"
A call of your name bounces off the grey walls in a saccharine tone: Riko knows instinctively, can be no one's except one blue-eyed and white-haired bastard's. You cast a glance at the tall man rushing to you, then return your gaze to her, with the same radiant beam you gave on that day twelve years back, when Riko first expressed her real thoughts out in the air.
The young woman wastes no moment before running to you and engulfing you in the tightest hug she can possibly manage, tears rushing down her face. Your gentle voice shushes her, the way an elder sister would do to a younger sister.
Riko's lips stretch in the widest and freest grin she has felt in forever.
Joyful and thankful her onee-chan is finally back in her life, giving the added length it received some much-needed hues — 'cause a longer life is obviously good but it's the best when your life is long and spent with your near and dear ones.

▸ notes: The reader was in the process of developing and perfecting a new CT, hence her CE was so unstable – spiking and ebbing – besides the fact it drained her energy like hell. Toji was a smart man, he figured it out pretty quickly and easily. [And for the ppl who're wondering how the reader was able to stop the attack on Riko: she used a tendril of thoughts emanating from a person's mind to detect their presence, instead of their cursed energy remains.] [She can't read those thoughts, though.]

I know it's been said before but Geto being depressed and exhausted and losing weight and experiencing a moral paradigm shift, but asking Haibara to bring back something sweet because he's going to share it with Gojo and Gojo loves sweets will always ruin me. Because I can't help but think that even with how awful Geto was continously realizing the jujutsu world was, having the briefest moment where he made someone that he cared about happy, where he could make Gojo smile and have it feel like before (before Riko and Toji and Kuroi and all the missions that followed, before) was the closest he could get to making his world a little less awful for a bit.

“morning, riko!” you greet the raven haired barista sleepily, “iced cappuccino with soy milk, please.”
“what…are you sure?” riko says, her face surprised. you always order your signature iced matcha latte with oat milk, unsweetened of course. riko knows it, every one knows it.
“yeahhh, i know. i just had a late night and then an early morning…” you groan. you won’t lie — you feel like you just got hit by a thousand trucks and your eyes are stinging (and probably red from the lack of sleep). “i’m bad at time management,” you confess sheepishly.
riko giggles. “not as bad as your friend trying to order a latte and pretending he likes it”. you sneak a glance at geto, who’s taking a sip of his americano and grimacing at the taste, which makes you smile at his lovesick gesture. “does he know we have other beverages?”
“ehh, i think he does but…he’s just trying to impress a very pretty girl who works here,” you say, trying your best to be obvious…but not too obvious that geto would be upset.
“oh my god, y/n! you know kuroi is happily engaged!” riko jokes, laughing lightly.
“oh darn, i have to break the bad news to suguru…he’s gonna be sooo upset,” you say sadly, pretending to wipe away a false tear dramatically, as riko rings you up for your order. just then, you think of something awful that suguru would definitely kill you for, but you’re already pretty bold for wearing the same outfit from last night that you got fucked in and showing up 30 minutes late to meet your friends, so fuck it.
“speaking of which, riko…are you doing anything tonight?”
“besides closing up…nope.” she answers.
“well, a bunch of us are going to the new barcade that opened up downtown this evening. i’m thinking around 9, think you can make it? you can tell suguru himself to lay off kuroi,” you joke jovially.
riko laughs heartily. “i’ll see you guys there”, she says, handing you your receipt, as you wave goodbye and head to your friends in the corner table. you try not to act flummoxed as you approach your friends, suddenly acutely aware of the how your hair was all over the place (why doesn’t toji own a hairbrush?) and that your jumpsuit was clearly wrinkled and that you hadn’t been able to take a shower yet. god, this was not your sexiest look.
“do they usually allow walk of shames in this cafe? i thought it this was a safe space?” satoru grins, already thinking of 30 ways to roast you for showing your face here after being 30 minutes late. he’s trying to push away any thoughts of you getting fucked by toji out of his head.
“shut up! i…i didn’t bring any extra clothes and i woke up late, okay!” you say, defending yourself earnestly.
“leave her alone, satoru,” suguru chastises, as he scoots down a chair to make room for you. “anyway, why were you talking to riko for such a long time? did she…say anything? it’s my haircut isn’t it? i just wanted to trim the bangs a little bit but they went sooo overboard and now-“
“oh my god suguru, chill!” shoko says, rolling her eyes. “he hasn’t been able to shut the fuck about riko and it’s so annoying that me and satoru are thinking of just asking her out on his behalf, at this point.” suguru tries hard to hide a blush before trying to deflect, but you interrupt them both.
“no need,” you say, turning to face suguru, “you can ask her yourself what we talked about…tonight. at the barcade.” you smile wide with your teeth and give suguru pleading eyes, hoping he won’t get upset with you for taking the liberty to speed run his first date with riko.
his face immediately is unreadable, and satoru elbows his ribs hard and hits his back. “congrats, pal! you finally have something to look forward to tonight that isn’t on your nintendo switch.”
“yeah. i mean…i d-don’t care. at all. i mean…good for her for coming. i don’t know if i’ll even be there but if i see her then i see her. no big deal…” suguru says, mostly to himself.
everyone at the table laughs, and you find your initial weariness of your extended walk of shame slowly melt away. you take a sip of your cappuccino, as utahime complains about how tired she is from playing animal crossing with shoko all night. you feel soft thinking about how utahime probably stayed up later than her usual early bedtime for shoko, knowing full well she has to wake up at 7am the next morning for both getting coffee and teaching her 1st period homeroom at the local high school. shoko has been recently trying to fix her sleep schedule from her night float rotation all junior residents had to do at the hospital their third year.
“also, before i forget, pre-game at ours at 7. we’re inviting nanami and haibara and some other people,” satoru says absentmindedly, his eyes focused on responding to a text on his phone before turning and facing you. “you’re still good on giving me a ride to lab today, right y/n?”
oh shit. “oh, umm, yeah, definitely still good with that.” you say quickly. you don’t exactly remember when you offered to give satoru a ride, but you assume it was one of the many times you tuned him out when he spoke. who’s satoru texting? the intrusive thought came out of nowhere, but you push the newfound irritation back where it came from.
Tumblr media
satoru and you walk back to your car while you both lament about how awful this week’s lab has been. “i mean, why even give us a lab when we have a final in like less than a week?” you say exasperatedly, as you search for the keys to your cream white mini cooper and unlock it.
“speak for yourself, i finished that lab last week.” satoru boasts, grinning at your when you give him a confused look. “i’m only going to help the cute girls in class with their work.” he shrugs. what a slag.
“you’re a whore,” you scoff, slightly annoyed at satoru. so he has time to help some random cute girl in class but not his best friend. you buckle in, and take pleasure in watching satoru struggle to situate his legs inside your tiny cramped car. his knees are bent at awkward angles, and his head practically touches the roof of the car.
satoru groans loudly and dramatically. “you have the smallest fucking car in the world, y/n, y'know that?”
“fits me perfectly,” you say nonchalantly, as you back up and drive out to campus.
“well it baaareeelyyyy fits me,” he pouts, the sun visor bumping his head while he pulls it down.
“it’s not even that tight,” you assure him..
“it’s very tight, y/n. i can feel the walls squeezing me.”
“get over it.”
“oh, so it’s okay if toji says that to you but when i say it, it’s a fuckin’ problem?”
you practically choke on your saliva and swerve into the other lane upon hearing satoru’s comment. “h-how did you know…he said that to me?” you say incredulously. there’s no way he like…hacked your phone or something right? maybe you accidentally butt dialed shoko last night and they all heard you moan god knows what. the storm of thoughts in your head is interrupted by satoru’s laughter.
“i didn’t know he said that but now i do.” oh, god. you fell for it like a fucking idiot, y/n. you try to retort something back but you’re left speechless. actually you’re a bit impressed — satoru got that out of you masterfully, and you have to appreciate the tact (or perhaps lack thereof) he had. you try to be angry towards him, but it’s futile as you both start laughing.
“i hate you — stop making me laugh it’s not funny i need to focus on the road, idiot,” you say in between giggles. your eyes stay fixed on the road as you playfully flick satoru’s head (he lets you — your laughter makes his heart beat faster and he ignores it). satoru grabs your hand with his and starts rubbing your fingers together in an effort to warm them up.
“you’re hands are so cold all the time…” he murmurs. to him, it feels so natural to play with your hands, and you let him (his touch brings an undetectable heat to your face…and other parts of your body). you look steal quick glance over at him, and are overcome with a sudden and foreign shyness that instinctually forces you to retract your hand back to the wheel almost immediately. you clear your throat, before announcing to satoru that he was here.
satoru’s knees and joints crack as they are finally released from the prison of your mini cooper, and he dramatically lets out a sigh of relief. he gets out of the car and makes a show of stretching his long legs and arms. his collegiate basketball crewneck slides up, and you catch a glimpse of his toned abs and happy trail. you hope he doesn’t hear your breath hitch before snapping out of the trance and rolling your eyes. “have fun harassing the cute girls in your class!” you say sarcastically, as he flips you off before heading to class.
during your drive back home, you don’t want to process the familiar feeling you felt last night when satoru texted you before you had sex with toji. the thoughts you had of him choking you and kissing your while toji played with your titties. oh god, you’re thinking about it again! stop it!
Tumblr media
your neck aches from staring at your laptop screen for the last two hours as you try to make going out tonight worth it by studying extra for your final exam next week. your neck cracks loudly in all the right places and you head straight for a quick hot shower. you practically moan when the hot water hits your scalp, and allow the water to wash away all the stickiness of your complicated relationship with toji and satoru. tonight’s just for having fun and not doting on the future, you tell yourself, but not before taking a look at your soapy chest and thinking this is just the perfect picture for toji to see. you quickly snap a pic, promising yourself you won’t be one of those desperate girls toji always brings over to his house.
y/n: [1 Photo] hi :)
okay, you know you had just sent the photo to toji, but it did kind of break your heart that he didn’t immediately respond. okay, sure he’s a single dad so he might be busy…or he’s fucking some other girl. your heart drops slightly at the thought of him blowing some other unsuspecting girl’s back out, and the sadness quickly turns to annoyance. you’re better than this, y/n. who cares anyway — no one sucks dick like you do. you smirk. you definitely aren’t the type of girl who would hook up with anyone, but you know how to not sell your skills short. if toji was busy with his own life, well, so were you.
you hop out of the shower, checking your phone once again to see if toji had responded, only to be met with a text from satoru in the group chat:
satoru: [1 Photo] got the goods 😛
you open the photo to see him with a couple packs of white claws, and suguru in the background looking intently at two wine bottles in his hands. no way is satoru’s lightweight ass is gonna make through even one can before getting sloshed, you think to yourself.
shoko: what’s sugu doing?
satoru: deciding on what wine to get for riko lmfao
you can’t help but smile at how cute suguru was, being so nervous for something that wasn’t even a formal first date.
y/n: awww 🥹 get the rosé bby
shoko: y/n if ur ass isn’t ready in 10 mins i s2g i’m gonna leave without u
you scrunch your nose and throw your phone on the bed — if you really hurry you could easily be out your door in fifteen. after thinking for five minutes, you decide on a classic little black skirt with a slit on the side paired with a lace cropped bralette (that honestly really did wonders to your boobs). you wore an oversized leather button down shirt, sheer black tights, and a pair of black gogo boots. you quickly fixed up your hair, figuring that “wet” look was already trendy anyway. after applying your makeup at the speed of light (you went for a subtle yet sultry neutral look), you grab your little purse and sprint out your room, and see that shoko was staying true to her word, as she was just about to head out the door. she sees you, stops, and grins.
“you barely made it,” she teases, as she holds the door open for you.
“you bitch.” you respond, rolling your eyes. “is utahime meeting us there?”
“yes she’s already there,” shoko says, not looking up from her phone as she calls an uber. so that’s why she’s been dying to get out of the house so impatiently.
as both of you get into the uber, shoko pulls out two gummies from her purse and offers one to you. “pregame the pregame?” she says, and you both start giggling as you pop the gummy in your mouth. it’s probably not going to hit for a while, which leaves you plenty of time to get there and say your greetings to nanami and haibara before you get extremely crossed. you check your phone one last time, only to be met with no texts from toji.
Tumblr media
“thanks for the ride!”, shoko yells out as the uber driver speeds away.
“umm, i’ve never been to oovoo javer…”, you say through giggles uncontrollably. oh, fuck. this must’ve been one of those fast acting gummies. shoko must have been feeling the effects too because she starts laughing noiselessly and you both are doubling over outside of satoru and suguru’s apartment, grabbing each other for support so you both don’t fall from how much you both are laughing.
the door of the boys’ apartment flies open and it’s some couple open mouth kissing each other, stumbling their way out of the confines of the living room rager that lied ahead for both of you. you and shoko both bit back another giggling fit before stepping in. suddenly, two arms engulfed both of you in a strong yet familiar bear hug.
“himeee~” you hear shoko greet cheerfully.
utahime hiccups, already a bit tipsy. she pouts jokingly before shoko kisses her cheek and you squeeze her torso back in another bear hug. “you bitches are awful for leaving me with dumb and dumber…” she says, punctuating her words with hiccups.
“i’m sorry, 'hime. let’s grab a drink. i also packed you a joint,” shoko apologizes before utahime drags the both of you to the kitchen for a drink. in the kitchen, you find nanami slouching against the fridge, looking annoyed as ever, and haibara animatedly talking to some lower class men. haibara locks eyes with you and immediately turns and embraces you in a warm hug, while nanami manages a shoddy wave.
"ahhh my favorite little babiessss~" you squeal, pulling both guys closers to you and giving them a strong hug. you always get very touchy and sentimental when under the influence. "i haven't seen you guys in sooooo long!"
"please let go, y/n." nanami says calmly, but not before briefly squeezing you back for what felt like half a second. wait a minute -- what the hell is nanami doing here? he never comes to these things.
"wait why are you he-"
"save it," nanami interrupts, running his fingers through his hair. "i'm only here because i wanted a referral to the lab gojo works at, and he said yes but that i needed to come over this evening so he could ask me some questions regarding the referral application."
"oh, yeah! what questions did he want to ask you?" haibara asks quizzically.
nanami takes an even deeper sigh. "i showed up and he asked if i wanted to take a shot and when i sad 'no just ask me what you need for the referral', he was like 'that's the question, do you want a shot?' and that's how i got fucking tricked into coming to this godforsaken rager." nanami seems truly miserable having fallen for satoru's scheme so easily. "anyway...given the circumstances, i did take a shot..." he groans, slowly sliding down the fridge onto the kitchen floor.
you and haibara laugh, and utahime hands you a white claw. you open the chilled can, and take a sip, your hazy state of mind helping you not feel the slight burning in the back of your throat.
"speaking of that idiot, where is he?" you ask, your eyes scanning the room for his bright white hair. you frown not seeing him anywhere, but your face quickly relaxes when you see suguru and riko heading to you and your friends. oh nice, suguru finally managed to ask riko to come to the pregame, too.
"hey riko!" shoko greets, "didn't expect to see you here..." she teases.
riko giggles and take a sip of her wine. "i couldn't say no to seeing my favorite customers!" she steals a quick glance up at suguru and you swear you see him blush. "also, this wine suguru picked out is amazing! how did you know i love rosé?"
you bite back a smile, making quick eye contact with suguru. "oh...lucky guess..." he shrugs, playing it off nonchalantly.
"oh by the way, i got a joint for us to share," shoko says, pulling it out of her bag. "anyone interested in puff puff passing?" she asks, already holding utahime's hand and heading to the balcony. suguru and riko follow suit, and you quickly bid nanami and haibara farewell.
as you turn around, you bump into the man you've been looking for, wearing the same basketball collegiate crewneck, white hair disheveled, and a drunken flush to his face.
you don't even get to say hello to satoru as he lifts you up in a giant hug that encompasses you and spins you around, making you squeal. you can't help but wrap your legs around him, knowing full well you probably shouldn't since your skirt was not long enough for it, but you needed to feel the warmth and comfort of his body around yours. you always got a bit too touchy feely when you were under the influence...
"eeep satoru~ put me down!"
"nope, missed ya", he mumbes into your hair. oh, he's definitely drunk right now. sober satoru would never openly admit something like that and it makes you giggle.
"please~ my skirt is too short for this ahh~" you plead, unwrapping your legs from his torso, all of sudden feeling embarrassed through the warm haze engulfing your body. satoru finally puts you down and shamelessly eyes you up and down while taking large sips of his beer.
"that skirt can definitely be shorter," he says cheekily, his blue eyes filled with drunken mischief. you roll your eyes dramatically and also take a sip of your claw.
"you're drunk, satoru..."
"and you need to get drunker!" he yells, already grabbing you a shot glass and pouring some of rankest shit you've ever smelled. the music starts pounding louder, and you need to raise your voice even higher to make sure he hears you.
"aren't you gonna take one with me?" you shout.
"y'know i'm a fuckin' lightweight, baby~" he frowns, handing you the shot, a little bit spilling with his sloppy actions.
you scrunch your nose at the strong stench. "i'm a bit stoned though so only one, okay?" you say to him. you close your eyes, hold your breath, and down it. your eyes water and you have to prevent yourself from dry heaving as you immediately grab the nearest can of cola on the table and chug it as a chaser.
"wooow, you're such a baby," satoru jeers, thinking about how you've always needed a non-alcoholic drink to wash down your alcohol. you're not a heavy drinker by any means -- not even a moderate drinker. as as a social drinker, you always feel the need to try to at least sort of keep up with your friends when they drink the rankest and cheapest liquor. thank god satoru has always been a lightweight.
"shut up~" you say, rolling your eyes. you grab satoru's arm and pull him closer to the balcony where all your friends are. he slides his arm down so that you're holding his hands. your heart beats faster, knowing full well your vices always made you...hornier than usual. you're trying really hard to not look back at satoru, but you steal a glance anyway. his flush face and tired eyes are all of a sudden looking really attractive to you. your eyes slide down and look at his hands, the shape of his long calloused fingers gripping your hand and you can't help but imagine how they would feel pumping inside you. oh god, was he always this attractive? ugh! why can't toji just message you back so you can just go over to his place instead of having to lust over your best friend?!
you both enter the balcony, and the cool yet humid evening air hits your face, allowing you to finally breath something that wasn't beer and sweat. that is, until the stench of weed hits your nose.
"ugh, this shit's gross! i dunno how you guys can fuckin' stand the smell," satoru complains, dramatically making a gagging face.
"and you call me a baby?!" you snort, still trying to not be obnoxiously flirtatious throughout the night to satoru. you cannot let the horniness win tonight. god, what's gotten in you? you're never this...desperate? it's satoru's fault because he's looking so good tonight, you tell yourself. you pass on the joint, and try to focus on the conversation at hand, but it's hard when satoru puts his arms around you and pulls your closer to his chest.
almost instinctively, you melt into his chest, allowing yourself to feel his warmth and focus on his breathing chest. you smell the beer from his mouth as he laughs at something suguru said and you giggle too so people can know you're sort of paying attention.
you're a perfect mix of drunk and high, and you're feeling blissful being out on this balcony with your best friends, albeit minus the thoughts of how good satoru was looking tonight. is it even that wrong to think that your friend looks hot? you're not being delusional right?
"suguru is definitely being a comedian tonight for riko, isn't he?" you tiptoe up to satoru and whipser into his ear, thinking you're being subtle. unfortunately for you (and suguru), the loud music isn't being carried out to the balcony, and everyone hears you, and starts laughing. oh shit. you immediately pan over to suguru and see him pinching the bridge of his nose in annoyance.
"oh my god, suguru i- riko, i'm obviously joking!" you say really fast, slurring through your words as the shot finally is taking effect into your body. "obviously, suguru is the funniest person i know!"
"second funniest but i'm letting suguru tell all the jokes tonight. he needs this more than i do." satoru smiles brightly, looking at his best mate and making a kissy face at him.
"okay, riko, we are actually. um. we are leaving. and going to my room or the living room or literally anywhere else but here," suguru says, abruptly standing and helping riko up.
"wait what no, i wanna hear more about this-" she starts to tease, but ends up laughing.
"you're taking her to your room?!" shoko teases, raising her eyebrows comically. utahime chokes on the joint and starts laughing coughing and you do too, before you immediately stop. you cannot get on suguru's nerves tonight, as you know that'll make him too in his head to actually focus on having a fun time with riko.
you lift your body weight off of satoru and make way for suguru to leave. satoru side steps in front of suguru and pulls him into a hug, to which he scowls and tries to break free of. "mate, we LOVE you. i love you. and y/n loves you. and i'm going to absolutely obliterate you at street fighter at the barcade tonight." satoru slurs through his words and you almost feel bad for riko for having to deal with you and your friends.
you give a sympathetic look to riko as she trails behind suguru, patting his back softly and giggling. you're about to whisper a quick sorry to her, but she takes you by surprise by whispering "i hope i get obliterated by him tonight."
your jaw drops and you could almost cry laughing at what riko just said. i mean, okay, yeah it makes sense, and good for her but oh my god? i didn't know she had that in her?, you think to yourself.
"queen, i hope it happens. i'm for real manifesting this for you," you whisper back quickly and she sips her wine and giggles and follows suguru out of the balcony.
you turn around incredulously to shoko and utahime and look up satoru, all of them completely in shock at what they heard. there's a moment of silence to process before the intrusive thoughts win in your head. "honestly, i hope i get obliterated tonight, too."
shoko groans. "shut the fuck. up! you literally got obliterated last night! can you be normal about physical touch for just one night?"
"i can't, shoko, you know i get horny when i'm crossed~" you whine, your doe eyes getting wider in desperation. oh cool, you're off the deep end now. you're just fully horny and admitting it in front of satoru who will, at the very least, use this as incriminating evidence tomorrow.
"i can help with that," satoru flirts brazenly through the alcohol in his system, bringing you closer to him and holding you tight.
"desperation is such a turn off," utahime says almost immediately.
you giggle as you melt into satoru's chest once more. "what's going on, toji not treatin' ya right?"
your body almost instantaneously goes rigid upon hearing his name, and your senses almost clear up. you whip your phone of your purse, completely ignoring satoru's question and check your messages to see if you got a notification from toji, only to see nothing. you groan and rub your temples in stress. "okay guys, gather around. this is an emergency," you say as everyone huddles closer to you.
"it's not an emergency, FYI", shoko clarifies, already having heard this story in the uber ride here.
you explain to utahime and satoru about how toji had not responded to your explicit picture since this afternoon, and how you're feeling stupid and insecure about it. "i mean, is there something wrong with me? did i cross a line? how can you ignore the same titties you sucked on less than 24 hours ago?" you say frustratingly, the alcohol once again allowing you to give way more detail than you normally would.
"you see, it's a bit hard for me to, like, understand exactly what the situation is. i think i need to see the picture you sent him to really understand and help you out, y/n." satoru says with dead seriousness as he locks his eyes with you.
"oh yeah of course!" you say as you unlock your phone and are about to show him before shoko grabs your phone away and utahime flicks his forehead.
"you nasty disgusting pervert..." she mumbles, shaking her head.
"she was literally about to show me~" he whines. "i was asking as a friend, a homie."
"okay, listen y/n. he's probably busy. he's literally a single dad, and maybe he's busy with megumi. maybe he's trying to find a real job besides being a gigolo, we don't know but it's lame to dwell on it. let's just finish up this joint and head to the barcade soon, okay?" shoko assures, holding your hand as utahime puts your phone back in your purse. god, you love them so much it hurts.
you nod your head rapidly, as satoru gets a chime on his phone.
"ohhh, shit!" he exclaims, "this girl i helped today during lab is here. and she might actually show me her titties unlike you guys, so...i'm gonna leave."
you roll your eyes in even more annoyance. great, now satoru is gonna be hanging out some random airhead while you're left to your own vices for the rest of the night? you really don't want to spend the night waiting for toji to text, and you don't care to particularly ask satoru for help. but it does make you even more desperate knowing that you're still pretty drunk and everyone in your friend group seems to be getting laid tonight except for you. maybe you can find someone cute in the barcade?
as you all bid satoru goodbye, you continue to enjoy a couple more minutes with shoko and utahime while they finish smoking the joint. once it's finished, you all are ready to head out.
"okay, you get satoru, and we'll get suguru and riko," utahime instructs. that's so high school teacher of her, you think and bite back a smile.
"who's gonna kick everyone out of this...pregame house party thing?" you ask, gesturing to the 20 or so people getting progressively more drunk and sweaty in the boys' living room and kitchen.
"suguru will handle it, not our problem," utahime says, lighting out the joint into the nearest succulent pot in the balcony. she grabs shoko's hand and leads her out of the balcony, and you follow suit.
your nose is once again met with the stench of beer and sweat, and you make a face. your eyes scan the room full of party goers for satoru, as it shouldn't be hard to find the tallest person in the room with the brightest hair, but with no luck. ugh, he's probably somewhere in the rest of the apartment with that girl, you think, not looking forward to meeting some random slag satoru was probably going to sleep with.
as you made your way through the living room to the hallway to the boys' room and bathroom, trying your best to avoid the damp sweaty skins of people and sticky floors, you realize you need to pee really badly. you shove your way to the empty hallway and quickly down the rest of your white claw before beelining to the restroom at the end of the hallway.
as you're nearing the corner turn, you hear...oh god, are you hearing? moans? of course, someone is bound to hook up at this trashy party and make you feel even worse for being so drunk and horny and having no one tonight. that's okay though, you have a plan: you'll do your best not to make eye contact to the couple just turn right into the bathroom. just as you're about to execute this plan and turn the corner, you hear them moan, "o-oh satoru~" and your head immediately whips to the direction of the person who made the offensive noise.
you're not sure what you feel and you think you feel many things, including but not limited to: disgust, hostility, annoyance and...jealousy? wait, no, that can't be right.
your eyes widen and your jaw drops and you scoff as you see satoru french kissing some floozy outside his room, his hands up her shirt feeling her titties. wait, are you jealous or turned on? wait, what's happening?
satoru hears your scoff and rapidly removes his hands from the girl's shirt and stops kissing her to look at your bewildered and exasperated face. you give him a look that says "are you serious?" before you chuck your empty white claw can at him (he deftly dodges it) and shout, "get a room! but also get ready, you horndog, we're leaving to the barcade!"
you don't wait to hear an answer as you immediately slip into the bathroom and lock the door. god what was that? okay, let's break this down, you think to yourself, desperately scrambling to get your intoxicated thoughts in order. your head is slightly spinning and you lean on the bathroom sink for support as you try to sort out why you're feeling your chest drop in what you can only identify as jealousy. no, you're not jealous because you're in love with satoru, you're jealous because it just doesn't make sense.
if satoru is gonna fuck around with anyone tonight, it might as well be you, right? it's just rude, like as a friend, to kiss someone else who's not your friend when your friend is really horny, right? god, are your inebriated thoughts even making sense?
you try to snap out of delirium by turning on the faucet and drinking some water, trying to sober yourself down. or maybe you actually need to just get another drink? maybe you just need to find some cute guy to buy you a drink at the bar later and you'll snap out of it.
actually, maybe toji should just fucking text you back so you can go crawling to him at the end of the night so he can obliterate your pussy. you fish your phone out of your purse only to be met with no notifications from toji. you click on the message between you and toji, and start to draft out some lewd and lecherous texts to him. you thankfully, you don't have time to contemplate your actions or hit send before you hear the music die and people groaning.
you hear suguru yelling at everyone to get the fuck out and either go home or to the barcade, and you hear satoru start singing closing time, slurring the lyrics. this is the guy you're jealous about? this is the fella you want to lowkey fuck?
you pray that either a) toji messages you back or b) you find a nice non-creepy guy at the bar who's willing to at least make out with you, or 3) you instantly get sober after peeing.
only time will tell.

How would the relationship between Casey and separate Leo would look like?
Regarding Future Leo, he’s still Casey’s favorite sensei and father figure, but Casey is pretty shocked to come to the past and see Leo without all the years of patience that came from leading a resistance—which over many years tempered his anger and bloodlust. The family couldn’t protect Casey from seeing Leo like that completely, so Casey did witness his Sensei have a few bad episodes, especially on the battlefield. And he sort of remembers Leo was really bad off when Raphael died, it’s still a shock to see Present Leo be so quick to suggest murder, even if it’s villains. For the most part Future Leo was an inspiring leader, able to unite what little of humanity and yokai remained no matter how bad things got. Also he was always super embarrassing regarding anything to do with Usagi or Casey.
Present Leo, on the other hand, is stubborn and quick to anger, ruthless and petty. He doesn’t trust Casey and is very protective of anything he thinks might be a danger to his family. He’s only a few months recovered from his time trapped in the Kuroi Yuroi so he’s extra paranoid. Most importantly, Leo’s not yet figured out his role in the family, and is still on shaky ground with Raph and Splinter. It’s certainly not as bad as it was before, but in trying to be a better brother and son, it’s made him almost more awkward than when he and Raph were always arguing and Splinter had to walk on eggshells. Plus, even though Leo and Usagi have grown closer and resolved most of their issues, the two are in the “ally/friend” stage of their relationship. That’s probably the weirdest part for Casey. His two dads not being all lovey dovey and nauseating at every opportunity.

ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀ ᴛᴡᴏ: ᴘʜᴏɴᴇ ᴄᴀʟʟ
ɢᴏᴊᴏ ꜱᴀᴛᴏʀᴜ x ꜰᴇᴍ!ʀᴇᴀᴅᴇʀ
[Name] is forced in a shitty situation to once again transform Kaiser, but this time in his prime age. Riko misses important messages and phone calls from her sister. She's soooo dead.
Tumblr media
You were growing concerned. Riko wasn’t answering her phone and neither was Kuroi. Your leg was bouncing up and down from the nerves and you were picking at your nails trying to calm yourself down. You had called Riko 6 times and you messaged her 27 times! Riko couldn’t be ignoring you, she knows that she has to check in with you periodically.
You had sent her a picture of the concert tickets to go see Ado with a message saying, I hope you’re ready to party this weekend. You never really listened to the artist and only got the tickets because Riko never stopped talking about Ado this and Ado that. You saved up your money from the missions to get tickets and now that you finally got them, you were hoping for an excited response.
Riko, if you don’t respond to me in the next hour. I will send Kaiser to hunt your ass down.
The hour was coming up and you sat on the half wall near a river with a bottle of water next to you. It had been half empty for the past half hour and you clenched your hands to control your anger. Kaiser was swimming in the water like a serpent then he would dive in and breach the water like a dolphin.
You couldn’t relax. Questions regarding Riko’s health and her whereabouts were filtering in your head. She should be in school by now. Was it her choir class? It was possible that she didn’t have her phone because of her classes. That still left you with Kuroi ignoring your messages.
You couldn’t think more about it because the person to your right appeared out of nowhere with a sentence that sent chills down your spine.
“You have an interesting cursed technique.”
Swiftly, you created a safe distance from the voice that spoke to you in peculiar interest. You wasted no time to put up your barrier and Kaiser jumped to your aid. His eyes glowing an orange color matching your own.
The man that spoke was definitely older than you and physically stronger. Yet he exuded no curse energy. How was it that he could see Kaiser? He was extremely fast as well. It was no doubt a Heavenly Pact and you had no way to counter him if he fought you.
Kaiser’s growl caught your attention and you saw the baby dragon getting into a defensive position. You could tell that this man was extremely dangerous to your guy's wellbeing.
“Who the hell are you?” You demanded glaring at the unusually attractive man.
The man smirked and a gross purple worm curse appeared wrapping around his body. “Well I’m going to be the dragon slayer now,” He chuckled and pulled out a sword from the worm’s mouth, “Toji Fushiguro.”
“Blue.” You strategically used a Commandment and a mix of orange and blue swirled in your eyes. This was going to be a hard fought battle that you needed to get out of. Your phone buzzed in your pocket and the man gestured to it, keeping that smirk on his handsome face.
“You should get that. It could be your little sister.”
“What?” You asked perturbed.
His fingers flexed on the handle of the sword and he spoke again, “Come on, you have to know about the money. Headline reads: Amanai Sisters Wanted Dead for 60 million yen. 30 for each of you, it’s a nice prize. Although it seems I’m the first one to challenge you.” You didn’t let his information make you falter. Riko must have been the one to be calling you.
Yet she hadn’t been answering your calls for a while. It could be possible that she was captured already and her captors were calling to negotiate something with you. You cleared your head and focused back on your situation. You had no faith that Riko was alright, so you had two choices. End this fight quickly or run away.
Kaiser could be transformed into an adult again, yet the amount of cursed energy it would take would burn across your body like wildfire. You had to come out of this situation alive. You didn’t need to be healthy, you only needed to be breathing. It didn’t matter the pain you would suffer through as long as you aged up Kaiser.
“Because it’s a stupid mistake to challenge the Shinigami,” You sneered and a puff of black smoke covered Kaiser's body. There was a searing pain starting from your chest that began to spread out towards your body. It burned so much yet you continued on with your task. Your hands formed a diamond shape in front of your mouth and you casted out a technique.
“Red.”
You blew into the diamond and fire spewed out towards Toji Fushiguro. He smirked at the powerful attack and dodged it with insane speed. This created a huge distance between you and him.
This attack allowed time for Kaiser to emerge from the smoke in his final form. His pearlescent wings had spread out wide about 150 feet and his neck slipped out of the smoke with a terrifying, bloodthirsty look in his rainbow colored eyes. His long snout dipped low as he analyzed Toji Fushiguro; the enemy to his master.
His pointy mouth opened up slightly and liquid fire started to drip out to his chin down to the floor. The fire hissed when making contact with the floor displaying how hot it was. The two horns on top of his head curved towards his spiny back and his tail swished about high in the air. His chest and belly had rows and rows of hardened scales allowing him to be impenetrable from physical attacks.
A rumble vibrated in Kaiser’s chest and he flapped his wings at Toji shooting a ball of fire at the crazy man. Quickly, you climbed onto Kaiser’s back and looked over his shoulder to see Toji adorning that psychotic smirk on his face.
“You’re not so bad. I can tell you have a hold of your cursed technique.”
“Is that so?” You patronizingly asked the man below you.
Toji chuckled and replied back, “Your dragon was a baby seconds ago. My employer told me that you reverted him earlier today. That was the whole point as to why I decided to attack you now. I thought you would be drained from the amount of cursed energy you exhausted today. Yet here you are, perched on a big ass dragon like you own the world. I have a feeling you won’t disappoint me.”
Your skin peeled back as the burning increased all around your body. You were lucky enough that the uniform you wore covered the freshly inflicted wounds. Unfortunately, the fabric was melting into your skin. That must have been the only reason why Toji Fushiguro was hesitant to attack you full on. His fangs were always pointed towards the strongest, but he knows all of your techniques. Your rainbow colored eyes matched that of your dragon meaning you both were attuned to one another.
The fight would have been different if your eyes were just orange, blue and red.
“Laika, Kaiser,” You commanded the fearsome dragon and he did as he was told. He turned to the side and his claws dug into the cement floor. Then he turned his back on the man and took a running start down the riverbank.
In a last ditch effort, Toji jumped at you with his weapon of choice high in the air. “Where are you-” Toji began to ask you, not aware of how quick Kaiser could be. Despite his slow start of a run, his tail was swift in retaliation. Kaiser never left his master unguarded, especially with her back turned. His spiky tail flicked up and smacked the left side of Toji’s body.
Toji’s body was slapped into the river with a huge splash. Hearing that sound made Kaiser let out a chuff of satisfaction. You looked down at the ripples of the water when Kaiser took flight into the clear blue sky. Your eyes relaxed and you commemorated your dragon on his attack, “You always had very good reflexes, Kai.”
He let off a deep roar echo in the sky to show his authority.
….
Riko was afraid. Her sister had called her so many times and messaged even more! The picture of the concert tickets were exciting, but the last message of a threat was pretty terrifying. One time Kaiser did pick her up without any notice…just straight into the air she went crying crocodile tears.
Anyways, the young girl tried reaching her sister ten times, but it went to voicemail each time. This was all yesterday and she hadn’t received word back from her sister. Until the boys convinced her to go to the beach and have fun there. Riko was sitting down in the shade tired from playing in the water when her phone began ringing with the song “Usseewa” playing.
‘This was the ringtone for [Name]!’ Riko cheered and scrambled to get her phone out of the bag. She answered so fast and tried explaining why she couldn’t answer yesterday.
“Ah! [Name]! I am so sorry I didn’t answer you sooner! I just been-“
“Riko, is Kuroi with you?” You interrupted, using a reversed technique to heal the burns over your body. You probably shouldn’t have forced Kaiser to age up after reverting him. Yet desperate times call for desperate measures.
Riko looked over at Kuroi who was conversing with Gojo and Geto. You didn’t sound too well and she ran over to her caretaker to put you on speaker.
Kuroi, Geto and Gojo looked at her as she stuck her phone out so everyone could hear your voice.
“Yeah, she’s with me now. Is everything okay, you don’t sound too good.”
“There’s a bounty on our head. I need you to…to get somewhere safe.” You held in a bloody cough and fell deeper into Kaiser's warm body. You had finished peeling your clothes off your body with your teeth biting onto your tongue. Kaiser had helped out a lot with your jacket by tugging it off in one sweep earlier.
You may have let out a string of curses when he did so.
Riko looked up at the trio with worry in her dark blue eyes. Something was wrong, you never sounded this weak before.
“[Name], where are you? Is everything okay?” Riko asked again and she flinched when she heard you coughing over the phone and wheezing in pain. Your shout made her jump in fear.
“Listen to me!” Your throat was hoarse from all the coughing, “You don’t…you don’t have a lot of time! I need you to get somewhere safe! Kaiser will protect me while I recover and when I do…I’m coming for you. So for now, just listen.”
Riko subconsciously nodded her head and told you, “Alright, I’m here with-”
Gojo slipped a hand over Riko’s mouth while Geto shook his head, mouthing the words, “Don’t mention us!”. Riko stared at them with her eyes furrowed and she pushed Gojo’s hand off her mouth.
“Who else is with you? What does he look like?” You sat up and Kaiser purred at you. The dragon sniffed your hair as you stood up with a groan.
“He?!” Riko shouted, she didn’t know you were that much of a psychic! Kuroi stepped up and calmly defused the situation, “Don’t worry, [Name]. I’m pretty sure Riko is in shock right now. You sound like you’re in terrible pain. It…it’s making us worry.”
You had to be truthful to make them aware of the dire situation. “I was attacked by a man who had no cursed energy. His name is Toji Fushiguro and super attractive, you won’t miss a guy who looks like him. Furthermore, there is a bounty out for Riko like what I stated earlier. Every group in Jujutsu is coming after us and I’m in a pretty bad shape, so I’m going to call my friends to bring you to my school. From there, I will protect you and figure out what I need to do next. If I have to kill everyone who gets in my way, I will do it.”
Riko was stumped. A man with no cursed energy had hurt you? “I don’t understand, big sister. You have Kaiser, why are you injured?”
“Because my idiot principal and idiot friends convinced me to revert him to a baby.” You hissed while Kaiser licked your wounded back with his slimy tongue. His saliva had healing properties and it worked faster than your reversed technique. “I had to force Kaiser to transform into his final stage. His cursed energy burned all across my body, but we made it out alive.”
Riko shook her head and shouted at the phone, “What kind of friends would make you become vulnerable?! Who are they?! When I meet them, I’m going to give them a piece of my mind!”
Kuroi nervously looked over her shoulder at the teen boys and they both whistled with their hands stuffed into their pockets. The older woman knew your friends were these boys by the way they stopped Riko from mentioning them.
“You are going to meet them soon because they are the ones that are going to escort you back to the school. One is a guy who can eat curses, pretty gross in my opinion and I’m sure he thinks the same way too. His hair would be in a bun or something and his name is Geto Suguru.”
Riko looked up from the phone and at Suguru in complete shock.
“The next guy…he’s a pain in the ass, that’s all I got to say about him. His name is Gojo Satoru. Oh yeah, he wears round glasses. It’s easy to take notice of this duo.”
“Big sister, do you trust these guys to keep me safe?” Riko asked with a tremor in her voice. Suguru and Satoru were astounded by the young girl’s question. She had trusted them to give her fun last days, but now she was looking at them with weary eyes.
“Of course, I do.” You said with a soft smile, “They’re my best friends. They wouldn’t do anything to harm you.”
“I know they’re your friends, but they hurt you,” Riko said, “and now you’re putting me in their care. Why can’t you just send Kaiser my way and he can get Kuroi and I?”
You hummed and looked at your body, it was mostly healed from the burns. But you were exhausted and hiding in an abandoned warehouse. “I’m sorry, Riko. I can’t do that now, sending Kaiser over to you will get me killed if another sorcerer finds me. I promise, Suguru and Satoru will deliver you to me.”
Riko wiped her eyes and clenched the phone tighter in her hand. To the young Amanai, this conversation felt like the last one she would have with her big sister. There was a force that pushed her to say more on the phone. Yet she didn’t have the guts to do it. Instead, Riko sucked it in and said her goodbye,
“I will see you soon, big sister.”
“Of course. I love you, Riko.”
“I love you too. Bye…” Riko stared at her screen and with a shaky thumb ended the call. Then she looked over at the duo telling them to listen to her last request, “Take me to the school.”

CHAPTER TWO: CANNONBALL
Black Swan series
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SYNOPSIS: Everyone deserved to have a break after being on edge from assassins.
WORDS: 1k
WRITTEN: 10/22/2023
Tumblr media
"SATORU — "
You closed your eyes tightly and held your breath as the gravity-user threw you into the ocean.
You pushed yourself to the surface, breathing loudly as you broke the water.
"I told you not to do it!" you shouted.
He grinned and took a step back. As soon as you figured out what he was planning, you swam away, knocking into Riko and nearly drowning her as you tried to get away from Satoru's cannonball.
"CANNONBALL!"
He dropped right next to you and Riko, nearly drowning you as the water splashed.
Suguru and Kuroi watched from the shore. Kuroi was anxious of even coming to the beach when there were people after Riko, but Suguru reassured her.
He had a faint smile on his face as he watched you shove Satoru's head underwater while Riko cheered.
Satoru's arms flung around until you decided to grant him mercy.
"You're supposed to be eighteen, not eight!" you reprimanded.
He pouted, but slid next to you regardless with twinkling eyes. "Insult me more."
"You disgust me."
"Just like that."
Riko cringed. "You're a predator."
"We're the same age," Satoru defended.
"You're like a creepy old man," Riko added.
"I agree," you said. "It's a wonder Suguru puts up with you."
Satoru grinned and abruptly grabbed your face with his hands, smushing your cheeks together.
You barely got any words of protest out before he leaned in and pressed his lips to yours. Your eyes widened and you stuck your fingers into his eyes.
"FUCK — MY EYES — "
"Stop kissing me!"
You swam away from him and returned to your beach towel on the sand. You sat on the towel and grabbed your sunscreen to reapply.
"Allow me."
You glanced up at Suguru, who blocked the sun with his body. You handed him the sunscreen and winced from the sun when he stepped away to kneel behind you.
He squirted the sunscreen onto his hands and rubbed it together twice before placing his hands on your back.
You flinched from the cold, then relaxed as the sunscreen warmed up.
"Sorry," he said softly.
"It's okay."
His hands moved in circles, beginning from your back and up to your neck. You loved your hair out of the way as he lightly massaged your shoulders.
He leaned in closer to where he was almost touching your back. You could feel him towering over you as he sat up on his knees.
"Are you trying to seduce me, Suguru?"
He smiled as his hands moved down the sides of your waist and onto your hips.
"Maybe only a little," he answered.
You laughed quietly. "You're just as bad as Satoru."
"I never said I wasn't."
You hummed. "Two peas in a pod."
There was a brief silence before Suguru decided to ask you something he wasn't sure if he should have asked.
"When you look at Satoru, what do you see?"
There was another moment of silence before you decided to look over your shoulder at Suguru. He looked sincere and curious as he searched your eyes for the answer.
Your eyes flickered to his lips briefly before you turned back to look at Satoru splashing Riko with water and Kuroi begging them to be careful.
"I see a little boy who was never given the chance to be loved."
"Is that what your technique is telling you?" Suguru asked.
"No, it's what I'm telling you."
Satisfied with your answer, Suguru's hands left your body.
"I've finished."
"Thank you," you said. "Need me to return the favor?"
"If you don't mind."
He took off his patterned shirt and switched spots with you. You squirted the sunscreen onto your hands and began rubbing it onto his back.
"You're actually much more toned than I thought," you complimented.
"Are you trying to seduce me now, Y/N?"
You laughed and leaned in to whisper in his ear, thus pressing your chest to his back. "Now Suguru, are you accusing me of being an enchantress?"
He let out a short breathy laugh. "I would never accuse you of such a thing."
You leaned away with a grin. "What a good answer."
Finishing up on his back, you squeezed his biceps twice before scooting away and laying down on your stomach next to him.
“Do you like the beach?” you asked.
“I do. It reminds me of freedom,” he replied while gazing into the horizon.
You hummed. “I agree. We don't have beaches in the country. Even if we did, I wouldn't have had friends to go with. It's nice being here with friends.”
He turned his attention to you. “When I look at you, I see a woman with a lot of love to give.”
Your throat turned dry at that and you swallowed to get rid of the hoarse feeling.
“Is that so?”
“Don't play coy, Y/N.”
“Hmph.” You turned your head to look at him. “So what if I have a lot of love to give?”
He flicked you on the forehead gently. “Don't hold it in.”
You pouted and turned away, wiping the small tear escaping from your eyes. Suguru didn't say anything.
“Are you hungry?” you asked, turning back to him.
“I could eat.”
You cupped your hands around your mouth and shouted, “Satoru, Riko, Kuroi, are you guys hungry?”
“Meat, meat!” Riko shouted.
“Meat, meat!” Satoru repeated.
“Barbecue?” you asked, turning to look at Suguru.
“Yakiniku,” he answered.
“That sounds so good,” you muttered. “You guys are gonna make me fat.”
Suguru smiled. “That wouldn't change how beautiful you are.”
“You're just as unbearable as Satoru.”
He laughed as he stood up and helped you up. He grabbed your towel and brushed off the sand before folding it for you.
“Thank you.”
He hummed as he stuffed the rolled-up towel into your bag, then grabbed your jacket and put it around your shoulders.
You clutched it to keep it from falling as Suguru walked after you with your bag around his shoulders.
“Satoru, hurry up! I'm hungry!” you shouted, kicking your feet through the sand.
“Hold on! There's seaweed around my ankles!”

A/N: i’m backkk and i don’t like this
Tumblr media
is everything over already?
that was what Gojo Satoru thought first when he failed against Sukuna.
in front of your eyes, Gojo was cut in half…everyone stared at the screen before their eyes. they couldn't hide the surprise in their eyes...Gojo Satoru, had he really lost?
once again, Gojo woke up in the airport before Suguru hit him hard on the shoulder.
“ya!” Suguru greet him with a soft smile.
“ouch!” Satoru send him a glare and Suguru just shrugged it off before take a seat next to Satoru.
both of them talked about something together. after that, Nanami, Haibara and teacher Yaga also gradually appeared. Riko and Kuroi also appeared somewhere not far from Gojo's place.
“i had fun.” Satoru chuckled as he answer Suguru.
and then the group of them approached the door leading to the plane. everyone left, only Suguru was standing.
“won’t ya go?” Satoru stopped and he turn to Suguru, staring at the black hair boy.
“Satoru, do you really not regret anything anymore?” Suguru asked.
“…what are you saying! of course no!” Gojo reply almost immediately. “don’t tell me you…”
“yes, i do, Satoru. don't you see, this flight is going south... and I'm not going that way.” Suguru slowly explain. “i chose my path, the north.”
“…what do you mean by that? you’ll leave us?” as Gojo blur out, he don’t want to leave Suguru alone, not again.
“maybe, there’s no answer for that question.” as the boy turned away, he ask Gojo again. “remember your whole life, Satoru. do you regret not having done anything yet?”
“what the heck are you asking me Su-” Satoru shouted at his friend.
Suguru cut him off. “Satoru, you still have Y/n right? don’t you need them?”
Satoru widen his eyes in pure shock.
Suguru finished his sentence and faded away from Gojo’s sight. “w- wait!”
the airport was also slowly falling apart. Gojo is still there, lost in his mind until he is also falling with the airport, slowly dripping into a dark place.
“do you regret not having done anything yet?” Gojo asked himself.
did he?
he don’t know.
Gojo fell to the cold ground, still immersed in his thoughts. it's possible that Gojo regrets that he died.
that's when he thought of you, that's right.
he promised that he would return to you.
you even gave him a kiss on the lips…ah, that's right.
“will you lose?” you asked Gojo softly and gripping his white locks. “Satoru…i don’t know what i will if i ever lose you…”
“i won’t sweetheart, promise you.” he smiled and put a kiss on your forehead, cheeks, lips, neck and everywhere he could kiss you.
Gojo immediately stood up, the space around him gradually brightened. Gojo kept running with all his might on that wooden road. His entire life, from when he was a child to when he was an adult, seemed to appear.
he kept running, the road gradually turned to ice, making Gojo almost fall. the lotus flowers began to bloom clearly.
he need to come back to you.
he don’t want to die at this cold place.
at least god, let him die in your arms…
he need your smile.
he need to feel your small hands again.
he need that pecks on his lips or cheeks every time you’re flustered.
“Satoru.”
fuck, he want to hear your voice calling his name all over again and again.
“i love you so much Toru!”
damnit…that cute little giggle when you just say to Gojo how much you love him.
every single time he’s being with you, Gojo felt so peaceful…so warm…
he craving for it again.
“please god give me one more chance!” Gojo shout into nothing and he suddenly open his eyes.
only to see you…crying hard but then stop in track when seeing him waking up.
next to you is Yuta, also shock and dumbfounded.
“Satoru!” you pull him into a hug, holding him tightly. Gojo is also wrapping his arm around you.
“i did it…” his voice soft and he gently cup your face, caressing your cheeks.
“you..! damn you Satoru! you a- almost…” as you crying harder, Gojo just chuckling and pat your back.
“aw, come on~”
“…you asshole…” you sob and close your eyes.
“at least i’m your asshole.”
