Because @108garys said so 😊 (A long time ago, like back when they were putting Supermassive characters in their own clothes, and yes this drawing has been sitting around unfinished the entire time since.)
Left to right: "I Just Really Like Squirrels, OK?" "Bilby," a flying squirrel, "Respect the Numbat," and "Life is Better With Skunks."
Everybody feel bad for Angela. She's getting bullied because she's the shortest 😔 I don't have fun clothes like 108garys but I happen to have these shirts in roughly each of the protagonists' colors, so. Field trip to the zoo or something, idk man.
To go back to my stupid little AU of the LH group but their caveman iteration, I just have such stupid ideas about it but also absolutely adore those ideas lmao.
Caveman J always sleeps on this pile of rocks covered in furs, when he snores it echoes so loudly in his cave its been mistaken for a stampeding mammoth.
The discovery of fire was a huge deal amongst the gang that led to many outbursts over who gets to use the mighty flame first. It ended with them sat in a cave cooking up some hunted dodo meat or some shit IDK but they refuse to talk to each other
Little guy Caveman A was the first to domesticate a wolf, I like to think he got bored and wandered off in to the woods despite Lady A and J telling him not to and he wandered upon a wounded wolf pup and decided to help it instead of making it dinner.
J doesn't like the new furry companion but is most often found sleeping beside it, though he just excuses it by saying the wolf is warm.
Cavewoman A will only the wear the finest and warmest furs, she's really nit-picky about what furs she will allow herself to wear. Woolly Mammoth? Fuck no! Sabretooth tiger? Absolutely!
Cavewoman T always goes out gathering but only with V if he's out hunting. She likes collecting extra berries and fruits that she hides from the rest so she and V can sneak out and eat them somewhere quiet. Despite how many times she's been caught she still does it every time.
Caveman D likes to try hunting but is awful at it, absolutely atrocious and has been nearly mauled to death by many different predators. He thinks stone is stupid and that he could find something better (He refuses to admit its a skill issue) but eventually he discovers metals and brings about the dawn of the bronze age.
No one believes him and thinks its stupid, but eventually come around to it once D proves its great at killing things.
They all share one giant cave and sleep around a nice big fire, its a nightmare and dysfunctional as fuck, but its cute and sweet I swear
sometimes i rewatch clips of little hope bc im too lazy to boot up the game and i was watching every version of john’s fight with his demon at the end + whether you choose to rescue angela or leave her
and i only just saw that if you leave angela and let her die (which WHY WOULD YOU) when johns holding the door, he says “angelas gone” AND HE SOUND SO DEFEATED IT MAKES ME WANNA SOB
LIKE I SPEND SO LONG SCOURING THE INTERNET TO FIND CLIPS OF THEM SO HOW TF DID I MISS THIS 😭
THIS WILL AID MY FANFICTION FOR SURE BRO
also side note and im sure ive said this before but it makes me laugh how inconsistent johns reactions to her deaths are lmfao. sometimes he just doesn’t give a flying fuck about her dying and he’s like “oh that sucks lol” and other times he’s fully screaming crying throwing up LMFAO
I in fact didn't get a head start on reheating my year old wips but in an effort to encourage myself to do so I've decided to post something from one as is(undercut)
Here we have Angela in sharpay's status quo blazer, I intend to continue with it but a lot can change in a year and who knows how different it'll be when it's done so I guess we'll be able to compare
We know I can do this whole styling thing as I filled up near half a sketchbook with something similar but my brain just refused to continue until I finished my hsm re-watch and I did two back to back, wrote my change of plans oneshot and then I never got back around to it and suddenly we had a new game to love and my brain decided to close that book regardless of if I was still reading but now I believe I've a chance to trick my brain into allowing me to find my page again
Wish me luck
@kassiekolchek22 @delurkr @taylorshope @tatjana-fantasy I'll have to dig up the original post to see who specifically suggested stuff(some aren't even around any more😅)
To add onto Andrew’s iconic expressionlessness (is that a word?):
The other day I was doing an “asshole” run of Little Hope, and in the scene where Angela checks on Andrew shortly after they’ve seen Mary for the first time, Andrew asks Angela what she thinks is going on and I had Angela tell him to calm down.
So Angela said something like “You need to stay calm! Freaking out isn’t going to help!” And meanwhile Andrew’s just standing there like🧍🏼♂️
Yeah I'm not as happy with how Anglea turned out, but I love the others! I'll probably draw John when the next chapter comes out (idk when that'll be lmao)
Of course, I took the opportunity to insert some of my headcanons into the chapters, with this one being the "wouldn't it be funny is this were true" type ;)
12 – Witchcraft (Angela)
This couldn’t be real.
Angela shook her head, as if she could shake away the truth John and Andrew had uncovered. Her double had not only been accused of witchcraft, but had even been convicted and sentenced to her death. She had been drowned, for God’s sake! Out of all the possible ways someone could die, this one was by far the scariest for Angela. She couldn’t swim, had never learned it, had always been too afraid. After almost drowning as a child, she had avoided big bodies of water like they were the plague.
Now she realized that she had been right. Water would kill her, suffocate her, would make her hold her breath until she didn’t have one anymore. She would die painfully, and without ever leaving this godforsaken town.
But by far the worst part was something she could never reveal: That she had actually practiced witchcraft when she was younger. Now that she was older, she was skeptical of everything that claimed to be supernatural, but back during her golden years, things had been quite different. She had used everything: pendulums, spirit boards, tarot cards, crystals … it had been fun until one of her predictions had destroyed her best friend’s life, which opted Angela to change her beliefs completely.
But she could never reveal that to the others. She was afraid that they would blame her, that they would call her a witch, that her double had actually practiced witchcraft instead of being framed by that little girl. Angela didn’t want to risk that. Those days were over anyway, and it was time to focus on the future. Witchcraft and witch trials weren’t a part of that.
And Angela would make sure that it would stay this way.
DIG TWO GRAVES (reason: theme of the game is vengeance)
2) The plot:
In 1970, two U.S. soldiers in Vietnam, after getting separated from their unit, are stalked and eventually killed by a group of Viet Cong fighters. The Viet Cong were so effective at remaining hidden that the American soldiers assumed something supernatural was going on.
In the present day, a Vietnamese-American family moves into a small town somewhere in the American Midwest. Although they are mostly welcomed by the townspeople, they unfortunately catch the attention of a white supremacist gang that attempts to intimidate them.
One night, while the father is at the bar with friends, he drunkenly admits that his father was a Viet Cong fighter (one of the fighters from the prologue). A member of the white supremacist gang overhears this and tells his fellow gang members. They use this admission as an excuse to “avenge” the deceased soldiers. A few hours later, the gang invades the family’s home, forcing the family to hide.
You play as the five members of the Vietnamese-American family. Depending on the choices made by the players, either the family survives this horrific home invasion…or they’ll meet their end at the hands of these hateful monsters.
3) Inspirations/What I intended with the story:
So, unlike other DPA games, this one isn’t about the supernatural. All the villains are normal people, but that shouldn’t make the game any less scary since people are capable of extreme violence.
Movies that inspired this write-up: Green Room, Don’t Breathe, Panic Room, The Strangers, Funny Games
For the story, I was imagining this game as playing around with people’s expectations since the game starts with the Viet Cong as the villains, but then transitions to a Vietnamese family being the heroes. It’s playing into what the American public feared, and then flipping it around.
4) The five playable protagonists:
* Duy Tran (HUMBLE, INDECISIVE): The patriarch of the Tran family. He is voiced and mo-capped by Ke Huy Quan, who you may recognize as the dad/husband from “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once”.
* Jocelyn Daniels-Tran (OVERBEARING, INSECURE): The matriarch/stepmom of the Tran family. She is Duy’s second wife, which is part of the reason why she has a strained relationship with her stepdaughters. Jocelyn uses the same face model as Anne Clarke/Angela from “Little Hope”.
* Hao Tran (FOOLHARDY, FUNNY): Duy’s younger brother and the “cool uncle” of the group. He uses the same face model as Merwin from “House of Ashes”
* Nora Tran (RATIONAL, AMBITIOUS): Duy’s eldest daughter. She uses the same face model as Erin Keenan from “The Devil in Me”.
* Mina Tran (REBELLIOUS, CONFIDENT): Duy’s youngest daughter. She uses the same face model as Felicity Graves from “Hidden Agenda”.
5) The prologue protagonists:
* Carl: One of the American soldiers killed by the Viet Cong. He uses the same face model as Nick Kay from “House of Ashes”, as well as Alex and Brad from “Man of Medan”.
* Bernard: One of the American soldiers killed by the Viet Cong. He uses the same face model as Charlie Lonnit from “The Devil in Me”.
