Finished my replay and just... Little Nightmares 1 is just so damn sad. I hear a lot of praise for the second game and how sad that one is (which it is, don't get me wrong--) but can we talk about the first one for a second??

A tiny, malnourished child running for her life from an array of adults--who have been twisted into grotesque monsters hellbent on killing her--with no way to fight back?? But when she finally does find a way to fight back and escape from this hell seems to be just within arm's reach....she finds herself trapped in the middle of the ocean with waves as far as the eye can see in every direction. Even with the ability to finally defend herself, she is still trapped and alone.

It's so unbelievably sad.

Aside from all the horrible things otto has done. He is definitely my favorite little nightmares character. He reminds me of the therapist from fran bow.

The Marionette!!! (I always felt like the Puppet was too simple for a fancy design like that) I love Charlie and her character in the world of fnaf (her book portrayal is pretty good. Tho I'm not a big fan of the plotline where she's a robot clone gjdbgjd) she's just very important to me...., I tend to have a need to help others for better or for worse myself so maybe that boosts my enjoyment of her

I'LL PROTECT YOU FROM THE FANDOM SIX The idea of her being a villain/bad person in general has luckily died out but I still see her getting mistreated pretty often. She is hurt and scared and also literally 9 years old. Do you seriously trust a 9-year-old to have rational thinking skills while feeling betrayed and kicked up on adrenaline after running from a monster tower.

the lady is a very interesting character, but for a final boss, her boss fight sucks

#she's cool and i like theories about her #but she's so easy to defeat #like i die more with the janitor #its not even about practice #because i only died 2 or 3 times in my first playthrough #hell i die more from the chase scene than her boss fight #and it's not cuz final bosses in LN have a easy fight and a harder chase #cuz thin man wasnt the final boss #six was #BUT I DIE TO HER MORE THAN I DO TO THE LADY #maybe it's just me #whatever #basically: i appreciate the lady for her being girlboss and not for her being final boss #little nightmares

in my hubris i challenged the progfox (which typically you wouldn’t bother with until postgame) and i may have beat it first try but i think i just had a. deeply traumatic experience

#i knew it could use its own special attack making it and uzuki + kariya the only bosses in the game to do so #i knew it could shapeshift and all that i’ve seen it turn into illusions and holograms like the little mushroom #i’ve heard people talk about when it turns into a neku mimic with red hair and a fox mask #i’d never seen that in my own game until now which was really cool #but what; pray tell; WAS THAT— #SKULL NIGHTMARE ABOMINATION CREATURE??? HELLO??? #IVE NEVER EITHER SEEN THAT NOR EVEN HEARD OF THAT WHAT THE #i wish i could’ve grabbed a screenshot real quick #it inhaled my psychs to heal itself #or maybe it just stole my hp idk i wasn’t watching #that was also the closest i’ve gotten to death on this playthrough #not beeping red or anything but enough that joshua commented on it afterwards #a peachy twewy replay #I SHUDDERED

Oh also! My 4yo is super into watching let��s plays (appropriate ones) on youtube kids and now he absolutely loves Minecraft and among us. So much so that he got all Minecraft, among us, and Pokémon themed presents.

And now these guys are in my house

#personal #he also likes watching horror games and I have to really be careful to make sure they won’t be too scary for him #and I’m careful about making sure he’s watching family friendly channels #so it’s not always actual gameplay but more skits and things with the characters #so lately he likes rainbow friends animations and garten of banban playthroughs #the second one made me a little nervous but he thinks the monsters are cute and he pretends his toys are playing tag with them #and he hasn’t had nightmares or anything #my kid just likes creepy things 🤷‍♀️

replayed ln2 to unlock the secret ending and hoooooly shit… so

1) did six specifically seek out the maw to satiate her hunger/hunt down the lady? her dark/glitched form was looked down at the poster for the maw so i assuming she went there on purpose. which would explain why she isn’t with the runaway kid and the other child prisoners

2) six and mono’s powers must be connected in some way. six gains her “hunger” after escaping the tower and meeting her dark/glitched form, and at the start of the thin man boss fight when mono “gains” his powers we see him become surround by some kind of dark matter similar to what happened to six after she defeated the lady. i feel like the similarities have to mean something
