You’re making a lot of promises there Chara…
Part 24 || First || Previous || Next
—Full Series—
I enjoyed doing this little Flashback scene. We’ll be back to our regularly scheduled freakout session soon. Having monochrome color is very nice.
Here is a gif of Chara spilling their water because YES. And I spent way too long on it :)
Wow technology is so cool.

On side note
Salieri still as a Avenger class servant, but his mechanics and overall vibe is similar to Seele and Veliona
Watch poor musician being for some reason summoned in Avenger class and having no idea the fuck is happening only to have a really angry and protective being floating around you who wears your face but has insane bloodlust.
Antonio Salieri and Gray Man being semi separate beings who are bound to be one in soul, and they’re weird unstable hybrid of ruler and avenger in one class

Remus Lupin always loved snow. //338 words
He loved to spend his snowy winter afternoons with the Potters, looking out of the window of their warm living room, while drinking a fuming cup of tea as Sirius and James played with the little Harry by the fire.
Its white layer covering all the houses rooftops in a cold embrace, looking at the slow dancing motions of the snow as it fell to the ground.
The smell of fresh baked cookies coming from the kitchen where Lily and Mary were spending their time, chatting and cooking together. "Girls things" as they always used to say.
Oh, he also loved dancing to Bowie with Sirius in their small apartment in London during those snowy evenings.
The windows of said apartment were always blurry in winter because the inside was far more warm than the outside. The freezing temperatures wouldn't ever reach their home because if they did Sirius would start to be whiny and dramatic just because he was a little cold.
There were days in which he got dragged out of the apartment by Sirius and James just to go out "like old times" and he secretly loved that. Especially observing the way in which the snow fell on Sirius' onix hair and seeing the happiness that it's cold touch brought to the other man.
Snow was definitely his favorite thing about winter.
At least until a certain winter.
...
Oh well, that surely is a shame.
He now feels pain, a lot of pain, thinking about those old happy memories. He just wishes to go back in time, but that's not possible.
All he can do now is kneel in front of their grave and cry his eyes out.
The stone is simple and it has a thin and soft layer of snow on the top, it hasn't been there long.
Just about a month.
But for him...for him it felt like years, decades. And that's because he's alone now, he lost everything.
His friends, his lover, his happiness... his love for the snow...
[I didn't revise this, sorry if there are misspellings or so]

Hey op, what's gonna happen to Gregory once the time is up? Is he stuck in 1983? Does he comes back to his original timeline, does he just dissapears?
How is Michael gonna find him ? That's his son right there, what's gonna happen if he never finds him?
(my first ball pit au ask aaaaaaaaa!!!)
Ok so the thing about Gregory is that this whole time travel thing was kinda thrust upon him with the warning that he (along with the rest of the Pizzaplex) would die under the fiery rubble and William Afton would get his revenge on his eldest, Michael Afton.
He’s given an alternative in the middle of the confrontation: manage to save the designated victims from Afton, and the timeline will adjust so that the tragedies never happened (which, by proxy, means Gregory is never destined to die at the Pizzaplex).
If Gregory fails to save all nine victims by the time the timer runs out, everything will go back to exactly as it was before— all of his progress lost to time— and he’ll return to that night at the Pizzaplex and die.
Funnily enough, Gregory is the one that immediately seeks out Michael once he lands in 1983, not the other way around. The guy is kinda oblivious to the whole thing and Gregory ends up yanking him from his day-to-day and drags him around for the ride of his life.
If Gregory never found Michael, well, he’d fail the task. Michael is the last victim, after all.

While the lily orchard review didn’t do anything like calling the show bad (they actually praised it a lot but for some strange reasons imo) they did miss a lot of the main points of the show and lightheartedly insulted people who were making angsty fanart of it (they also didn’t credit the artist which was odd) I think they had only watched until season 2 at that point but season 2 was still pretty intense even if it wasn’t as bad as 3 and 4 so I don’t understand why they called it a “Saturday morning cartoon” because it clearly has an overarching plot. One of the quotes taken directly from the video is “There’s nothing in the plot that’s going to shock you or make you think about the human condition.” They said that people making the show seem dark were missing the point of the show. That’s pretty much it I think which isn’t too bad but it does not give the show credit for how they handle a lot of stuff imo
Okay so, watching s1 of the show? I totally understand the "saturday morning cartoon" perspective of LMK. That's what it is at the beginning—I have a half written meta in my drafts about LMK and "saturday morning cartoon" type tropes.
However, I also argue that s2 begings to deconstruct those tropes—take for example 2x05 "Minor Scale". That's an episode with what I would consider to be a tropey plot: "Oh no! The main character gets shrunk!". But, unlike a lot of previous episodes (like 1x06 being the "racing episode" or 1x02 being the "Main character is overworked and turns to a sketchy solution to fix their problem" episode), Minor Scale shifts us away from these monster of the week type plots. The whole reason MK shrinks to begin with is because he's belittling himself ("Maybe if someone was here to teach me! 'Oh you'll figure it out bud, just think little!' Ugh, like I could do this on my own."), which in itself is already a unique way to implement this sort of trope. But, not only that, rather than a little tease and a subtle feeling of the heroes continually losing like in the beginning of s2, the Lady Bone Demon reveals herself directly to MK. She manipulates MK, she gets inside his head, she makes him question his worth to Monkey King.
This pattern of "everything starts out normal and then dips into something darker" continues for the rest of s2. 2x07-2x10 all start out like you would expect—monster of the week "saturday morning cartoon" adventure set ups—that then take a turn for the worse during the episode.
Like, don't get me wrong, s2 isn't like s3, and I'd say it takes until s4 for LMK to truly deliver on everything it's set up, but s2 still has plenty. Minor Scale (STRAIGHT fate vs freewill directly into the veins with MK literally running away from the narrative), Macaque's shadow play ("Heroes inevitably bring darkness to those they hold dear" *sobs* THEY WEREN'T LYING ABOUT THAT), Sandy's sincere belief that helping his friends is where his true value lies (yet he breaks his vow to never fight again), MK's desperation in 2x09, LBD's inevitable victory.
Honestly, watching the way in which MK's mental illness manifests in the first 2 seasons makes even s1 of LMK unique. I remember watching Bad Weather (1x01) and being surprised that MK was so down on himself after the "I'm invincible!!!" facade fell.
But, ultimately, LMK starting with "saturday morning cartoon" tropes and then slowly transitioning into the darker and more plot focused episodes is completely on purpose. The start of the show, the "monster of the week adventures", is the home MK wishes, but cannot, return to. That simplicity and innocence turning to complexity and impiety is part of MK's "coming of age" story, and it's why I like the show.

Red Velvet is the total package, raised by the Ancient Heroes, a known animal-lover across the lands, and a loved big brother to all. . . The perfect candidate for Herb to take advantage of. . .
If you haven't got the jist already, Herb is one of the main villains of Starlight Starbright. With his dream warping abilities, he terrorizes the higher ups of Earthbread(Ancient Heroes, The Elders, etc.) through their dreams, causing them trauma-worthy nightmares. All as revenge on the behalf of his sister (aka White Lily)
Now, Red Velvet cares deeply for his family, similar to Herb (who's technically his uncle) so upon finding out his family hadn't been getting sleep for who knows how long, drove him into confusing sadness & determination to confront the one who's causing it. It was that point he met Herb, offering him a deal, the protection of his family in exchange he'd work for him; helping him cause fear & despair onto the world, and Red Velvet reluctantly agrees. . . Not just unaware that Herb was the one causing them distress, but that it's already too late. . . His family had been terrorized to a point where they fear even the smallest amount of sleep. . .
For Herb, finding those he can take easy advantage of & sparking deals is how he gathers cookies onto his and his sister's side. According to myth, a deal with a fae is ever binding, so cookies are forced to follow suit. This's also helpful, considering the cod aren't formed in this au, so imagine the cookies who'll be roped in his plan. . .
But for now, that's for you to decide. . .

I'm genuinely offended by Red's introduction in The Wishing Spell. "She was showing too much skin, wearing too much makeup, and dressed too well for the middle of the day." Why are we slutshaming Little Red Riding Hood?? What is this misogyny doing in my children's fantasy book?

Calx and Cataracta were created from an ancient Vala enchantment, intended to serve as guardians of the hidden portal beneath the Fort Maria library. If anyone they believed might have harmful intentions toward the chamber attempted to enter, it was their responsibility to turn them around.
Calx was carved from stone inlaid with the same gleaming gems used in the magical water lilies floating in the small pool surrounding the portal. Calx's enchantment served to make a false dead end before the tunnel would reach the portal room, and if that didn't work, then there's always the good old-fashioned intimidation. Aside from that, Calx is a gentler soul, loyal and unwavering, much like the stone he was carved from.
Cataracta, on the other hand, has rarely shown herself. Residing within the pool, she appears as a secondary defense and is much harder to evade, given that the portal is surrounded by water, a design choice made to strengthen her defenses. Held together by the same glowing stone used in both Calx and the water lilies, she can materialize in an instant if need be. Contrary to Calx, Cataracta is far more unpredictable, like the water she is made up of, but is, nevertheless, a calm ally and a furious opponent.
Next time one enters the chamber beneath Fort Maria, perhaps keep watch for an intricately carved stone horse, or an ominous pair of glowing eyes surveying you from the shallow water.
