I'm going to talk a bit about my plans for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet now but first, a foreword.

I'll be honest. I was never all that big a fan of Nuzlockes. 

I never got the appeal. I had no need for the added challenge and all the restrictions and caveats of a Nuzlocke run just seemed more frustrating to me than fun. 

And it honestly very much seems like Pokemon playthroughs of any kind are dominated by Nuzlockes, to the point part of why I do my big livelog events is to put more non-Nuzlocke Pokemon playthrough content out there. And yet. And yet. 

I know I just complained about Pokemon playthroughs being dominated by Nuzlockes, and it's true and I should say it, but at the same time I do. In fact. Enjoy watching and reading Nuzlockes even if they never seemed like my thing to actually play? Shout out to @/kynimdraws , @/helloyellow17, @/alephnull47 , and Failboat here. And a while back @/enigma-boi told me of a Nuzlocke variant that actually sounds... fun?

FILE 1. The Beginning of the End (liveblog)

I've been off tumblr for like 10,000,000 years, I only made this blog to make a camp here and there liveblog. I got three episodes in before I decided I wanted to do a dedicated livelog of it. It's still very new, right? I haven't interacted much with the fandom really at all because I don't want spoilers. So please don't spoil anything! I'm only ever up to date on whatever episode I've posted about most recently.

All I know about this series is that it's about a nurse at a summer camp I would've loved to have gone to as a kid. I read a post somewhere recommending it to people who were into The Magnus Archives and were looking for something new after it ended. It was also recommended to people who like the music of Will Wood...

It took me an embarrassingly long time to realize it was because he literally made the music...

I feel like such a fool.

All the characters are entities and all the places are sites??? I think I'll have to line their titles up...

I don't know how I didn't put two and two together that my guy is doing the tunes, this intro is so his vibe...

The main character is Sydney Sargent! They remind me a lot of Cecil from Night Vale

Sydney's diction can be a little hard to understand sometimes, but I think that's mostly because of the speed at which they talk? Are there transcripts for this series?

I just had the thought that I really don't want want Syd to die. I dunno what the overall tone of this series is, so I don't know how much danger the character are or aren't in.

I’ve been trying to motivate myself to stop being lazy and finish Clarice so I can complete my liveblogs for you all and do better at updating this blog, but now I see it’s not being picked up by CBS and may be canceled (and if not, it will go directly to streaming). That makes me want to sit on what I have left (3 episodes iirc), because God knows when, if ever, we’ll get new Clarice content now.

The show certainly has some pretty glaring flaws. I wasn’t always kind in my livelogs, and I don’t think they did Clarice’s character a lot of justice...but it feels so wrong to squash this female-led show after just ten episodes when NBC’s Hannibal ran for three seasons, a lot of which was just clunky writing, often blatant sexism, and unnecessarily disturbing content/body horror. 

I’m just disappointed. :\

#again I apologize to anyone who is a huge fan of the NBC show....I just don't think it's...good. #it rips off a LOT of Clarice's arc/personality #and is frankly...grossly misogynistic in a lot of places. which. it's adapting a female-driven series?? not just red dragon. #and still it chose to be That. #I mean for all the mess they were making of the Catherine Martin subplot it's got nothing on Mason Verger forcing his sister to undergo #an involuntary hysterectomy?! and that's just one thing I remember off the top of my head. ew.

My next reading livelog will be Witch Eyes by Scott Tracey.

One of the people I follow on here has been gushing and praising it so I decided to see what it’s about. I don’t really know what the story is about (I read the blurb and such before but that was quite a while ago and I can’t remember it), but I suspect that there’s going to be at least one witch in it. If there is no witch I’ll be disappointed.

Since this is not a collection of short stories I will resume to my usual liveblogging style and write down my general thoughts/reaction after every chapter.
