I will forever choose him, because he called my name.

Deciding to quit everything that's not of God is hard, but it's heartbreaking to watch people who claim to be of him do the total opposite of what he is about. Then the annoying part is when I'm told I need to chill and live life without thinking too much about what he teaches. Like, what do you mean? Do you want me to turn a blind eye to everything he teaches and just live a life I know isn't praising him or bringing joy to his name in any way? I'm sorry, but I don't obey my flesh, but the holy spirit and him alone.

Psalms 23: 1 (The Holy Bible)

In describing the Lord as a shepherd, David (the author of the book of Psalms) wrote out his own experience because he had spent his early years caring for sheep; as mentioned in 1 Samuel 16: 10-11. Sheep are completely dependent on the shepherd for provision, guidance and protection.

The New Testament refers to Jesus as our good and great shepherd in many occurrences throughout the Bible, i.e. in John 10:11, 1 Peter 5:4 and Hebrews 13:20.

As the Lord is the good shepherd, so we are his sheep - not frightened, passive animals but obedient followers; wise enough to follow the one who will lead us in he right places and in the right ways.

This psalm doesn’t particularly focus on animal-like qualities of sheep but it does focus on the disciple-like qualities of those who follow him. When you recognise the good shepherd - FOLLOW HIM!!!!

Prayers Needed!

Hello sunshine's 🌻💛 I hope all is well!! My dad is not doing so well and I would appreciate your prayers PLEASE! I believe in the power or prayer and that God answers prayers. My dad was having severe stomach pains recently and the doctors found out that his gallbladder bursted. He got it removed, but while checking that doctors found a mass, or tumor on his adrenal gland. He went back sometime later to get it removed, so that it doesn't spread cancer. He doesn't have any cancer and the surgery was successful.. but now his body isn't recovering well. Both of his lungs collapsed and he it hurts a lot to breathe. They are providing him with oxygen.. My family and I are praying to Jesus that it will only get better from here and that we won't receive any more bad news.. please pray with us. 💛

I am starting a series for wives!

I invite everyone who wants to truly see their life with Christ and marriage flourish to join me over the next few weeks as I break down the Fruit of The Spirit from Galatians chapter 5. God’s Word states that as Christ’s followers we should be producing good fruit for God! Reading John 15:1-17 should be the first thing you do in this series! It is Jesus describing himself as the True Vine and God as the Vine Dresser.

Jesus calls us to go forth and bear fruit.

“You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you” John 15:16.

Jesus is not referring to just ANY fruit, he is referring to good fruit, as is evidenced in Matthew 7:15-20. Jesus even says you will know a false prophet by their fruit.

“A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.” Matthew 7:18.

That is how important it is for us as Christian’s to bear good fruit! If you should know a false prophet by the fruit he bares, you should also be able to tell a Christian by the fruit they bear. The world should be able to see Jesus in you! And guess who else should be able to? Your husband.

Ministry begins at home. A woman’s pulpit is in her home. It is in her home that she is shaping the minds of her children toward Jesus, raising arrows for The Lord so that they may by fired into the world to witness for Him. It is in a kind smile when her husband is grumpy in the mornings, instead of a heated remark. It’s forgiving accidents, not getting angry. It is in baking your husbands favorite cookies as a surprise, when that could be the highlight of a bad day. It is in knowing what God want’s us to do, as best we can, in each situation by learning His Word. It’s being a living example to our husband’s and our families, that will encourage them. We have the power to potentially change our husband’s day, his week or his year and make it brighter by behaving like Christ, and by living out the Fruit of The Spirit.

I invite all women to join me, to dive into God’s Word with me over the next weeks, as we work on one fruit per week, and practice it in our home. I initially planned this challenge for myself, but I figured others may want to join in. (And I was supposed to start the first fruit this week but found myself busy and forgetful!) So this is your invitation! Christian women, come join in! Or if you don’t know Christ, I welcome you as well, as by learning the fruits of The Spirit, you will learn who God is, and who Jesus is, and He is beautiful.

THE GREATEST SHEPHERD OF ALL TIME...

Are you ready to have your eyes opened once more on this very fine week? Our readings today exclaim and explore the GREATEST SHEPHERD OF ALL TIME - JESUS! I know what some of you may be thinking.... Who, what, when, where and most certainly WhY!?!?! Fear not though, for all those questions swimming hastily in your mind, will soon be answered with great clarity in the end. Allow me to explain... Jesus is constantly being listed and described as the good shepherd in John chapter 10; particularly through verses 1-21 in the Holy Bible. The most captivating thing about this whole ordeal however, is God’s utilization of sheep and their surroundings to subsequently mirror Jesus’s actions, who he is and what he really does for us in the clearest way possible. Let me clarify... In the very first verse, the Bible shows Jesus telling the Pharisees that those who do not enter the sheepfold by the gate are thieves and robbers. Upon research of the sheepfold itself, the web states that sheepfolds were caves, sheds or open areas surrounded by walls made of stones and branches; designed to protect a herd of sheep from thieves, weather or wild animals at night especially - when they are most vulnerable. This enables me to infer that just as a shepherd cares for his sheep, Jesus, the good shepherd cares for his flock - full of those who follow him. This brings me to my first point and that is this – Jesus is our good shepherd who will protect us from danger throughout the day and during night.

Now if we take a look at verse 7 in John chapter 10, the Bible describes how Jesus boldly stated “I am the gate for the sheep”. Turning our attention back to the sheepfold, it becomes evident as we read onwards that the shepherd himself functioned as a gate by constantly letting in the sheep and protecting them – leading me to my next point. We should be able to understand that Jesus is our protector and JESUS is the gate to God’s salvation for us, offering access to safety and security. Therefore, we should always walk through Jesus’ gate because it is the only way we can access God’s gate. Lastly, I want us all to finally turn to verses 14 and 15 in john chapter 10 which tells us this. “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me – just as the Father knows me and I know the Father – and I lay my life down for the sheep”. These two verses highlight that Jesus knows what God wants and at the same time he knows what we need, emphasising that Jesus knows what he must do and what will happen - he knows he had to give his life up for us, his sheep. As we remember this today on Good Friday, this brings me to my final point. Jesus cared for us so much in the same way a shepherd cares for his sheep but he is the greatest shepherd of all because he gave up his life for his sheep out of unconditional compassion. And so as his sheep, we should have compassion for Jesus who is our shepherd because of everything he has done for us for we also know him like he knows us.
