Ngl, every time someone responds to any negative opinion (even ones I don't care about or even disagree with) with the words "You have no joy or whimsy", I start feeling deep seethed rage that's hard to describe.

You could disagree with someone without claiming that they're boring or they're sticks in the mud and hell, just say it with your full chest without relying on established memetic terms because it's genuinely annoying to open up the comments of a post and people just constantly parroting those words without further discussion.

YOU don't have whimsy when you just keep repeating the same thing whenever someone voices their negative opinion on something.

Love the contrast between the Americans’ “Apollo” and the Soviets’ “Sputnik.” You got the Americans naming their rocket after a Greek god trying to communicate the grandness and importance of this rocket. Keeper -- a short comic about an angel meeting a robotic lighthouse keeper that doesn't know the world has already ended. Made in about 18 hours for a 24-hour 24-page* black and white comic challenge (that I arrived late to, ha.)

*the actual submission does not include the cover, which was created after the fact for this post.

This was a really great learning experience as someone who's... never really made a completed comic. I ended up really attached to the story by the end of the project (possibly due to all-nighter deliriousness lol) and ultimately am very proud of what I made.There are some things I'd still like to change, particularly text placement, but in keeping with the spirit of the challenge I've elected to leave it as is.

I've just decided, somewhere down the line, I'm going to write a one-shot for this fic where they go to the Annual Western Stock Show in Denver and make a whole weekend trip out of it because Cas really likes cows and he begs Dean to go with him this year even tho Dean is anxious and hates big crowds. A month or so later, Dean surprises him for Christmas by showing him the printed out receipt of the hotel reservations he made in downtown Denver for them.

Except they go, and Cas is disappointed because it's not really about cows as much as he wanted it to be.

And they go back to their hotel for the night and Dean decides to make it up to Cas by riding him like the cowboys in the show.

Bonus ideas: sexy cowboy boots and really bad puns. Cas tells Dean to "giddy up" and Dean laughs so hard he starts choking a little.
