There's a lot going on in this week's Lore Olympus.
There is a warning on the site for mentions of sexual assault, so consider yourself warned for this post as well.
Tumblr media
We begin with the Purple Prick (the younger one) paying a visit to the mortal he blessed cursed with divination abilities. She can see the future, but no one believes her.
That second part means anyone that might ask about her prophesies magically disbelieves her. The only one who does is the asshole that gave her the ability in the first place.
The modern phrasing Apollo uses is flat-out creepy, and just goes to show how much he wants to slam the breaks on any further truth on him getting out.
Tumblr media
I appreciate that Persephone came to help Hera ASAP. I'm also glad that Hera is opening up to Persephone as someone she can confide in. It is by no means easy, but knowing that Persephone understands is a huge help.
Tumblr media
Hera was terrified to open up to Persephone in the past, but I think Hestia is helping her as well. Persephone has a good support group, and now Hera is building one too.
This explanation of what happened to Hera is so raw.... it's not just the physical aspect of the SA, but the emotional confusion as well. The brain, heart, and body don't always play nice together, and SA can ABSOLUTELY make this worse.
Tumblr media
And here comes Persephone with the support! She doesn't even hesitate.
A lot of the explanation Persephone is giving her sounds like stuff she would have learned from Chiron in therapy. The words that are helping her to heal are what she is now sharing with Hera.
Should Hera seek out therapy as well? Absolutely! But she needs to be ready for it because it involves a LOT of unpacking of trauma. She's on the right track now, and she has the support.
Tumblr media
THIS. THIS RIGHT HERE.
This is what SA survivors need! They don't need judgement. They need love, care, and people to believe them.
Tumblr media
Hades bonding with Little Grape Boy is adorable! Oh, he did his hair too? I think he did a great job of it, and I think Persephone will be impressed.....even if Dionysos himself isn't.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
And here is our mystery child deity at last! For the record, I ran the Greek through Google Translate (yeah, yeah, I know, not always the best way) and got the spelling shown above.
For those of you who play the Hades game series, she's the main character of the second game.
Once again, thanks for coming to my LO post!

I got bored and yearned for the LO mines, SO here’s some soft redesigns of the three sisters!
I gave Demeter golden eyes cause 1) noticed she’s never given colored irises and 2) it’s a trade off from making her hair gold, wanted to be different.
Hera’s is pretty standard. Wanted to stick with blues to match her eyes, and for no other plot/character related reasons. The teary/streaked eyes are a choice! She lives for the drama.
Hestia’s is my “what if I just gave her cute clothes for fun!” Noticed she only wore long maxi dresses in canon, and I wanted to deviate from that! All of her outfits are from a TikToker I follow, who’s a plus sized bridal stylist! My favorite has to be the little white dress
Both Hestia and Hera have a glow to them, since one is made of stars and the other is based in fire/fireplace. But only Hestia gives off warmth. I’d imagine Metis had Hestia’s skintone, Demeter’s eyes, and Hera’s nose/face shape

Demeter: But WHY wouldn't they invite me to their wedding? Hestia: You... were literally the reason they had to rush it and marry in a library with little to no prep time.

I kinda wanna tackle exactly why Hestia is a bad friend and also she doesn’t deserve the praise she’s been getting
Leta get straight into it:
First off she’s a hypocrite, had relationship with Athena the entire time during tgoem despite the fact she shames persephone into giving her the coat from Hades
Had no issue taking Hades’s money to fund the organization and pushed Persephone nto joining tgoem just as much as Demeter had.
Like many of the other characters she does a complete 180 and is uncharacteristically chill about persephone dating and later marrying Hades, for someone who encouraged her join tgoem in the first place. Her siding with Demeter would’ve made so much more sense.
She was completely apathetic to Demeter’s situation with Zeus calling it “drama”. She doesn’t display any kind of concern about the fact that her “friend”was taken advantage of, used and lied to just makes a shitty face and acts all holier than thou bc it’s such a burden on her 🙄
So many of these characters are so self absorbed it’s ridiculous.
Now I’d just like to say her confronting Demeter about her behavior was justified. Emotionally manipulating persephone, guilt tripping her to come back home was unacceptable. She did need to be called out on it.
However Hestia never once confronts Demeter about her overprotective parenting style before hand, she doesn’t even give her insight to the relationship between persephone and hades until recently and she doesn’t confront Demeter until after the damage has already been done!
Biggest issue I have is she doesn’t bother to try and understand where Demeter is coming from or even validate her feelings toward the whole situation. Demeter being upset about her daughter marrying a man thousands of years older than her, who she barely knows makes sense! She doesn’t fucking know him! She’s a concerned mother worried that her daughter is rushing into a destructive relationship
Hestia saying Demeter needs to let Persephone discover it on her own was bad advice and a terrible thing to say. Bc it’s dismissive and insensitive to what Demeter is feeling
I would’ve respected her a lot more if she said something like:
“It’s understandable that this makes you uncomfortable and that you’re against this but instead of guilt tripping your daughter, and dismissing her experiences you should talk to her like the adult she is. Voice your concerns while respecting her boundaries and understand that she’s her own person. Explain why you don’t approve of the relationship and issues you have with hades,to your daughter
She’s going to make decisions you’re not going to agree with. Or approve of. You handled the situation poorly and it was wrong what you did.
If You can’t convince her to stop seeing him, maybe encourage her to take some time to get to know him? To date him longer before jumping into marriage. You can’t control what your daughter’s decisions but you can control your own behavior “
See how fucking easy that was??? How you can validate someone’s feelings while explaining why they were wrong yet approaching them with respect??!
I still don’t like lo hades X persephone but a real friend wouldn’t wait till the last minuet to call out your toxic behavior . a real friend would tell you what you needed to hear right away. A real friend would at least try to understand you and your intentions, Too many fans praised hestia for doing something that persephone should’ve done herself.

Not surprised to see that it’s Athena that’s kicking some sense into Zeus, both as the goddess of wisdom and his daughter. She laid exactly what he needs to do: quit continuing a punishment that isn’t beneficial for anyone and contact his damn brother about this obvious Kronos related issue. There is one factor though that I’m concerned about that hasn’t been considered yet
Demeter
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thanks to Athena, we now have a timeframe for how long each of the traitors have been in comas, giving us a order. First we have Hestia, being the first almost ten years ago, falling asleep half a month after Persephone’s punishment. Next we have Hera, who fell asleep eight years ago (meaning that she wasn’t able to be there for or see Hebe growing up through her teenage years ): ). Finally , we have Poseidon, who has been asleep for three years. Immediately, we can see a significant difference in time between Hera and Poseidon compared to Hera and Hestia. Why would it take five years from Hera for Kronos to force one of the traitors into a coma? That is, assuming he hasn’t forced someone into a coma during that time. It’s possible that Demeter is already in a coma this occurring some time between Hera and Poseidon. If that’s the case, I would be very concerned considering Demeter is currently a mortal. With Kronos reopening everyone’s scars before forcing them into comas, she could be much more affected than everyone else

Lore Olympus....I'm literally shaking right now.... That whole internal monologue Persephone gives at the beginning..... (which, there's too much for me to screenshot for this) Rachel nails it.
Last chapter and this one have a trigger warning for emotional abuse. It still very much applies.
A lot of this chapter is visual with only the most critical dialog applied.
Tumblr media
Hestia, THANK YOU! In a way, this could have been the difference between what happens and what COULD have happened.
Tumblr media
Moth Hades on Demeter's cheek.... the phrases "brush with Death" and "kiss of Death" come to mind, even if Thantos is not present.
Tumblr media
I hate to see that Persephone did put on the dress (I still think it's a trap, btw), but the moths fluttering around her in a powerful visual. In her lowest moments, they are there... they are supportive....
Tumblr media
Even the nymphs know this is bad..... they were dragged to this farce, but they want no part in it.
Tumblr media
I got shivers down my spine. Those eerie red eyes looming behind Demeter as her daughter stands before her, with BLACK hands instead of overworked green ones.... Are the eyes Hades or Persephone's own wrath?
Tumblr media
Rather than go after Demeter, Hades instead does the complete opposite--- approaches Persephone as calmly as he can and cuts through Demeter's abusive lies.
That Persephone IS worthy and capable. That she is wonderful and beautiful and..... so much more than what her mother says she is.
Tumblr media
We see you, Eris! Even if no one actually DID go apeshit, your presence is there and very much felt. We see it in Persephone's tears and Hades' rage-red eyes.
We are happy to see Wrath in this moment.
Tumblr media
This is.... I think the word is cathartic? Maybe this isn't how either of them pictured the moment to be, but it is what it NEEDED to be. You lift UP your partner when they are down. Hades does this here while highlighting many of the times Persephone did it for him, whether she realized it or not.
AND SHE SAID YES!!!!!!!!!!
Tumblr media
And here it is at last.... the moment in mythology that this story pretty much came from...
Hades kidnapped raped proposed to Persephone and carried her down to Hell the Underworld.
Thank you for coming to my Lore Olympus post. There will be a follow up one with extra visuals shortly.

Lore Olympus Fast-Pass thoughts (206, season finale)
RACHEL NO, PLEASE, I STILL HAVE COINS LEFT, DON’T LEAVE US NOW.
Oh the media went fast on breaching those borders when the good thing started, huh? Good. One thing less that Zeus can conveniently cover up.
Still weird that those names exist in this setting but who cares, really.
Hell yeah, winning smile for the camera girl :D
Pffft, what could you possibly offer her now? You think you have any scary tricks left? HA XD
And you are a degrading old fuck who’s WAY past his time. It’s only downwards for you and upwards for her.
It’s true. Time has no meaning in the land of the dead.
Cue the Invader Zim clip and Sollux Captor gifs.
Aaah, Persephone. So creative, that Persephone, always full of surprises.
She really said uno reverse card, get vored bitch.
Well next time you’ll probably get a more comfortable accommodation. Don’t expect more than that, though.
Kissy for the eldritch abomination. Good pal, best friend <3
Aww, they like her visits <3 <3 <3
Stuck together AND happy about it.
Rare nice moment between Zeus and Ares, don’t think it will last :/
Hypnos is free at last.
Hermes and Hecate my beloveds <3
Good that Hera can see her daughter grown up.
Hm, who are those others with Poseidon? He does have many children, but does he have more from Amphirtite aside from Triton?
Athena and Hestia <3
Oh good, seems Demeter was being taken care of by Metanira in Elusis, thank god. Not a thing she’ll like to get up to though :/
Again, sorry for being petty but I REALLY want to see Apollo eat shit. Maybe Leto and Tethis too.
For now, however, they deserve their nappy time.

According to Mythology after Persephone disappearance, Demeter went out in the world searching for her beloved daughter. She eventually found her way and settled at a place in Attica where stayed as a guest in the palace of the King of Eleusis. She disguised herself as an old woman and asked him for shelter and he in turn took her in as a wet nurse for his sons, Demophone and Triptolemus. To reward his kindness, Demeter decided to make Demophon immortal by secretly placing the child in the hearth's flames to slowly burn away his mortality. But then the Queen walked in on seeing her son in the fire and screamed in shock. Upon being discovered, Demeter revealed herself as a goddess and ultimately abandoned any further attempts of making Demophone immortal.
Or did she?

More about the colour-genes in Lore Olympus
So, I don't sum up how genetics work for y'all, because it would make that twice as long as it is and it already is much longer than it needs to.
family tree here
Tumblr media
Credits to mrsmayne2018 on reddit
it's an old one so not everything is up to date (the twins are not put next to zeus for example) but it gives what I need, parentage and skin color.
So, here are my thoughts:
Since Cronus is only ever seen in titan form, we'll say he is blue, because A) apparently Hades looks a lot like him and B) all his sons have a color derived from blue (purple, green, blue). Thus, Cronus had TWO blue genes, like light blue and titan form, night sky blue. Light blue is dominant while dark blue is recessive/can combine to form a secondary color.
Rhea was dark pink and I'll put in a recessive yellow. Recessive/combinant.
Tumblr media
It gives us these three possible combination (among others because it always goes by pairs in genetics):
Hades: a blue guy (light blue dominant, either pink or yellow recessive, we'll see that later).
Poseidon: a green guy (dark blue and yellow combining)
Zeus: and a purple guy (either light blue and dark pink, which would mean Hades has yellow as recessive since pink would mix with light blue, not get recessive, or dark blue and dark pink).
Tumblr media
Now let's go to Metis and her daughters.
Since they are not born, I'll still give them two colour chromosomes, but one will be from Metis and one will be from the magic/ inspiration they had.
Now tho, honestly, f*ck Demeter because not only does she have a green skin, which can not come directly from Metis (orange) and thus it already takes the two chromosomes, she also has PURPLE hair and that complicates the whole shebang even more.
So, Metis is orange
Tumblr media
And all her daughters have yellow-based colours (gold, orange and green).
So we'll give her a yellow and pink combination, which will be known as (Y2) and (Pi1), or the same colours we saw with other titans before.
Now concerning her daughters:
Tumblr media
Now, to be sure we speak the same language: Y2 is yellow, a weak chromosome, which combines or erases itself. Y1 is gold, which means fancy yellow, and is a strong chromosome which doesn't mix and doesn't sits on the sideline.
NOW! Let's get down to Zeus' children, mainly Hera's too but I put Athena and the Twins.
Tumblr media
So basically, Ares, Eris and Hebe got the gold (Y1) as a main and Eris and Ares also show signs of Zeus' dark pink as a secondary. Hebe is just gold through and through so until she has children (and I don't think she ever will, at least in the series) no way to say if dark pink or dark blue is her secondary.
Hephaistos has a combination so it's yellow (Y2) not gold he got from his mother. Athena I've got no idea where she got her grey from but I don't want to know because it could seriously mess up my genetics map if she has a non-grey mother.
Concerning the twins, well... Leto is gold as main, that's sure, but since they are not gold, her secondary made a combination with one of Zeus', so her secondary is the same as one of Zeus', given that the twins are the same colour as he is. I'd go as far as saying that, like Metis and Rhea, Leto has a pink or reddish chromosome somewhere and Zeus gave the blue.
We'll let Ares and Aphrodite's children for later because we'll need to reverse-ingeneer Aphrodite's colours based on her children's so we'll do it some day when I'm not yawning at 3am.
Now let's see what we can get for Persephone.
Tumblr media
Since she was not born either (well she technically was, as she got carried in a womb, but she didn't have a biological father) she'll have a main Pink and a secondary yellow.
Stay tuned, next in LO's colours, reverse-engineering Aphrodite's colours and what colours could Hades and Persephone's children be?
