Lore Olympus is cram-packed this week!
Tumblr media
Let's start with some seriously overdue character development! Persephone is beating on herself, and the last person we expect to help is LEGITIMATELY doing it!
Demeter wanted to be right and for Persephone to acknowledge it for so long, but in this moment, she realizes and confesses that she was wrong. Not just about the intervention, but all the hyper-protective things Demeter did that were actually damaging to her daughter.
Demeter is moving forward.
Tumblr media
Demeter tells Persephone about an encounter with a dying harpy when Persephone was still very small. The harpy recognizes Persephone for the fertility goddess that she is and warns Demeter to keep a sharp eye on her.
This very well could be when Demeter's parenting style shifted from happy single mom to hyper-protective prison keeper. The mention of Metis strikes a chord with Demeter that she never let go of.
Zeus ate Metis because she was a fertility goddess, and he wanted her powers. On that note, Demeter realizes that the same could happen to Persephone if she isn't careful.
Tumblr media
The harpy told Demeter that every generation had a fertility goddess, but Demeter doesn't recall one for her generation.
Remember that "date" that Persephone went on with Ares? The one where he showed her an old underground temple that was something to do with fertility goddesses? One of the goddesses on the wall mural was painted over, as if hiding her.
The harpy says the fertility goddess for Demeter's generation got "used up" before she could be named or acknowledged. Could the painted-out goddess in the mural be this missing fertility one? Someone (likely the one who ate her) was the one responsible for painting over the goddess in that mural!
Tumblr media
Two things here....
Fertility goddesses were an accident? Are you kidding me???
Love is required to use a fertility goddess' powers. Hold up.... I don't think Gaia meant for her powers to be used that way. Metis got FUCKING EATEN.... the unnamed fertility goddess vanished before even being named.
Hades grew huge when he found out about Persephone's SA. He had full intentions to kill Apollo. The difference between Hades using Persephone's power in that moment and every other gods' use of the powers is that when Persephone asked him not to commit murder, he listened.
Tumblr media
Meanwhile, Hades is having a car conversation with Poseidon. The king of the sea is asking the real questions. All of these concerns pose a problem regarding fixing the frozen Mortal Realm and are legit because..... it's happened before.
Anyway, thanks for coming to my LO post! If I think of more, I'll post it in the morning

Odysseus' Darkest Moment 🐴🌊⛵
~°~
Out of all the released Sagas of EPIC: The Musical, I fell in love with The Ocean Saga, specifically to the song Ruthlessness. And I was inspired to draw LO Poseidon for this song (I also love Poseidon, he's cool... in Lore Olympus, that is).

Not surprised to see that it’s Athena that’s kicking some sense into Zeus, both as the goddess of wisdom and his daughter. She laid exactly what he needs to do: quit continuing a punishment that isn’t beneficial for anyone and contact his damn brother about this obvious Kronos related issue. There is one factor though that I’m concerned about that hasn’t been considered yet
Demeter
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Thanks to Athena, we now have a timeframe for how long each of the traitors have been in comas, giving us a order. First we have Hestia, being the first almost ten years ago, falling asleep half a month after Persephone’s punishment. Next we have Hera, who fell asleep eight years ago (meaning that she wasn’t able to be there for or see Hebe growing up through her teenage years ): ). Finally , we have Poseidon, who has been asleep for three years. Immediately, we can see a significant difference in time between Hera and Poseidon compared to Hera and Hestia. Why would it take five years from Hera for Kronos to force one of the traitors into a coma? That is, assuming he hasn’t forced someone into a coma during that time. It’s possible that Demeter is already in a coma this occurring some time between Hera and Poseidon. If that’s the case, I would be very concerned considering Demeter is currently a mortal. With Kronos reopening everyone’s scars before forcing them into comas, she could be much more affected than everyone else

And now, for the Lore Olympus chapter you've been waiting for!
Tumblr media
Let's start off with this glorious masterpiece. I really thought they HAD gone back to the Underworld in this scene, but that was proven incorrect moments later.
Tumblr media
The defeated look on Demeter's face is a (pun-intended) godsend. All of her bullshit, especially this "intervention," is coming down around her. The falling banner (a la Jurassic Park) is the cherry on top.
[Disclaimer: Demeter is not a huge bitch in EVERY telling of this Greek myth, but she is in LO.]
Tumblr media
Not your fault, Persephone. What your mother says is on her, not you. Feel your feelings, vent, and then make like Elsa and Let It Go.
Also, I love the intimacy of this shot. Not just because Hades is butt-naked, but because of the raw openness/vulnerability they have in each other's arms.
Tumblr media
I CAN'T GET OVER THIS SCENE!
The look on her face when she finally sees his Terms And Conditions!
Getting the impression that he wasn't poking her while cradling her from behind. Understandable from the emotion of the moment prior, but it was a thought that crossed my mind.
From the second shot, that's an indeterminate "wow" face.
Tumblr media
Oh hey! Her hands got fixed too! Metis may have gotten the credit for this, but I feel like the whole breaking free of Demeter thing played a roll as well. Like, that nigh-permanent grip Demeter had on her is, at least emotionally, relieved, and that her hands are a visual metaphor for that.
Tumblr media
...and Demeter's fucking insanity continues!
Remember how she said Hades was going to want something from her badly one day, and she was going to deny it of him? Whelp, here it is!
It does beg the question though--- does this embargo apply EVERYWHERE or just in the mortal realm/Olympus? Can it really apply in the Underworld since Hades is the king there?
Tumblr media
Excellent logic, Poseidon. Best man SUPPORTS the groom instead of cock-blocking him.
Tumblr media
The description of what happened according to Demeter. Outright comical! Love how Persephone is flailing about.
EVEN AT THIS ANGLE, STILL NO MAN-BITS! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!
Tumblr media
Cliffhanger!!!!
This explains why Persephone can't get through to Hera, but what has Kronos done to her now???
Anyway, thanks for coming to my LO post!

More about the colour-genes in Lore Olympus
So, I don't sum up how genetics work for y'all, because it would make that twice as long as it is and it already is much longer than it needs to.
family tree here
Tumblr media
Credits to mrsmayne2018 on reddit
it's an old one so not everything is up to date (the twins are not put next to zeus for example) but it gives what I need, parentage and skin color.
So, here are my thoughts:
Since Cronus is only ever seen in titan form, we'll say he is blue, because A) apparently Hades looks a lot like him and B) all his sons have a color derived from blue (purple, green, blue). Thus, Cronus had TWO blue genes, like light blue and titan form, night sky blue. Light blue is dominant while dark blue is recessive/can combine to form a secondary color.
Rhea was dark pink and I'll put in a recessive yellow. Recessive/combinant.
Tumblr media
It gives us these three possible combination (among others because it always goes by pairs in genetics):
Hades: a blue guy (light blue dominant, either pink or yellow recessive, we'll see that later).
Poseidon: a green guy (dark blue and yellow combining)
Zeus: and a purple guy (either light blue and dark pink, which would mean Hades has yellow as recessive since pink would mix with light blue, not get recessive, or dark blue and dark pink).
Tumblr media
Now let's go to Metis and her daughters.
Since they are not born, I'll still give them two colour chromosomes, but one will be from Metis and one will be from the magic/ inspiration they had.
Now tho, honestly, f*ck Demeter because not only does she have a green skin, which can not come directly from Metis (orange) and thus it already takes the two chromosomes, she also has PURPLE hair and that complicates the whole shebang even more.
So, Metis is orange
Tumblr media
And all her daughters have yellow-based colours (gold, orange and green).
So we'll give her a yellow and pink combination, which will be known as (Y2) and (Pi1), or the same colours we saw with other titans before.
Now concerning her daughters:
Tumblr media
Now, to be sure we speak the same language: Y2 is yellow, a weak chromosome, which combines or erases itself. Y1 is gold, which means fancy yellow, and is a strong chromosome which doesn't mix and doesn't sits on the sideline.
NOW! Let's get down to Zeus' children, mainly Hera's too but I put Athena and the Twins.
Tumblr media
So basically, Ares, Eris and Hebe got the gold (Y1) as a main and Eris and Ares also show signs of Zeus' dark pink as a secondary. Hebe is just gold through and through so until she has children (and I don't think she ever will, at least in the series) no way to say if dark pink or dark blue is her secondary.
Hephaistos has a combination so it's yellow (Y2) not gold he got from his mother. Athena I've got no idea where she got her grey from but I don't want to know because it could seriously mess up my genetics map if she has a non-grey mother.
Concerning the twins, well... Leto is gold as main, that's sure, but since they are not gold, her secondary made a combination with one of Zeus', so her secondary is the same as one of Zeus', given that the twins are the same colour as he is. I'd go as far as saying that, like Metis and Rhea, Leto has a pink or reddish chromosome somewhere and Zeus gave the blue.
We'll let Ares and Aphrodite's children for later because we'll need to reverse-ingeneer Aphrodite's colours based on her children's so we'll do it some day when I'm not yawning at 3am.
Now let's see what we can get for Persephone.
Tumblr media
Since she was not born either (well she technically was, as she got carried in a womb, but she didn't have a biological father) she'll have a main Pink and a secondary yellow.
Stay tuned, next in LO's colours, reverse-engineering Aphrodite's colours and what colours could Hades and Persephone's children be?
