First Australian bookstore visit (but not the last). Thanks to Potts Point Bookshop! Your selection is lovely and the shop is so cozy. I walked away with The Tall Man by Chloe Hooper!

saturday afternoon goodies. i don’t always believe in retail therapy, but a trip to a local bookstore is allowed now and then, as a treat.

Locked Tomb got shelved between “The Bone Orchard” and “Crux” and that’s so accurate and funny

This is your friendly reminder to seek out local bookstores for the sake of your own pocket AND in support of local small businesses!
I just went to the small independent bookstore in my town, and my favorite thing about them is that they buy used books AND you can get either cash or store credit for that!
I have sold SO many books that I don’t plan on rereading. I’ll typically keep my all time favs and then sell whatever I’m done with or what ever I didn’t like. BUT THE POINT IS that this has allowed me to accrue store credit to buy MORE books. Like just the other day I bought Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros. WHICH WAS LISTED AT 30 DOLLARS HOLY SHIT. And I did not spend a dime.
So, rather than buying books at large bookstores like B&N, consider supporting your local small businesses. It keeps them open! And it may also save you money!

12/100 days of productivity 🐣 10/06/23
started the day with work in the morning. i finished a lot of tasks for an upcoming work event that i'm really excited about. then, i went to class — woohoo! no more skipping for me. i really don't want to make skipping a habit, so i'm feeling determined to properly maintain my attendance from now on. the day actually ended pretty short for me. i left campus right after my class and visited the bookstore for some reading time, then i went home around an hour later. i wasn't very productive when i got home, though. i didn't even realize how long i was scrolling reels until i saw it was already dark out 🙃 i really have to avoid opening instagram if the purpose isn't for communication

I went to a local bookstore with @evilwriter37, and a friend today. I will admit, I did not find what I was looking for when I entered, but I left happy and feeling great!
Now do I talk about the books first, or the cat?
The cat!
This is Freddy! He is friendly and a menace all at once (it’s the orange cat brain cell).
Upon entering I felt like I was going to pass out and have a seizure. I genuinely believed I was going to hit the floor before I could call anyone for help. Somehow I took some steps, and I saw him! It took a couple minutes, but after some time with Freddy I felt much, much better.
We did kissies, he looked through my bag (then was biting it??), and we had a great time. I will even forgive him for hitting me once. Besides, he did soft paws. Just look how handsome he is! And he even has a bow tie!
As for books I did leave with these:
I have already read the first two Crescent City books, and every other Sarah J. Maas book. I own all the other books, and thought to just get these instead of borrowing from my dad. I will be reading House of Flame and Shadow as soon as I finish my Rick Riordan reread.
Now this is all of Shakespeare’s works. I’ve been dying to have them, and this is perfect since I’m in a Shakespeare book club run by the author Marshall J. Moore! In the previous picture you can see how gorgeous the artwork on the sides is. I’m so happy to have this, and honestly, I got them at such a low price.
And I even found some earrings!
I haven’t repierced my ears yet, but I will soon so I can wear these little guys!
It was such a great time. They also do publishing and I have their card! I’m totally going back.

Wonderful launch event for @drchucktingle with Sarah Gailey at Mysterious Galaxy in San Diego! The excellent Dr. Tingle had prepared a PowerPoint for the occasion that included dating profiles for classic slasher movie slashers and a quiz called three tingles and a lie! Looking forward to reading Camp Damascus!
P.S. my @mayakern Luna moth skirt got many compliments and I felt so fancy and put together despite getting sweaty and having atrocious hunching posture in this photo
