Name: Jakob Ross Lockhart Species: Human Age: 35 Pronounce: He/Him Story: Grim Facets

The story of Grim Facets takes place during the Victorian era. Lockhart comes from a family that has practised healthcare of the mind for generations. Located in a remote small town, Lockhart grew up in a castle-esq manor. His father raised him as an only child as his mother succumbed to child birth when she had Lockhart.

His relationship with his father was quite strained and complicated. But despite it all, he learned their family practices from him and started to work as the town's psychiatrist as well. His father died shortly after he started doing these practices himself.

The Lockhart family line had been using hypnosis to treat their patients. It seemed very effective; almost like magic, for it was as if their troubles would simply vanish after a single session. What no one seemed to know was that there was much more to the treatments than what met the eye. Something... incomprehensible.

During one particular session, Lockhart's hand got possessed. To prevent it from spreading and to hide his ailment, he wears a glove that is embellished with a special type of crystals that this dark substance seems repelled by. Ever since that event, Lockhart has been plagued by chronic pain, night terrors and hallucinations. His body is also ageing faster, making him look older than he is.

Some of Lockhart's favourite activities are hunting with crossbow and spending time with his horse, Onyx, and his peregrine falcon, Dolores. He gets easily bored and is in a constant need for stimuli. Often times he will start a new hobby or interest and jump to the next one just as quickly as he picked it up. He could probably be very good at anything if he put more time and dedication to it. His curiosity, impulsivity and recklessness has made him a rather chaotic character, and his (too small) staff are often left to pick up the pieces.

Lockhart has a silver tongue and is a master manipulator; he is aware of his ability to make people do what he wants. He has some psychopathic tendencies of prodding people with his personal social experiments just to sate his curiosity. Most people are unaware of what kind of person Lockhart really is; he has even gotten a good reputation among the town's people.
