There is a lot of wiggle room in this connection in terms of past and how they met. However, the gist is that these two were together for about ¾ years and after months of waiting on Briar to say yes or no to his proposal she finally said yes with encouragement from her now late mother, Alyssa Reed who believed the marriage would be advantageous for Briar and perhaps their whole family. Briar loved him surely but was never sure if she said yes because she truly wanted to be married or if because her mother encouraged it. After her step father passed and then she lost Supreme when the ancestors picked her sister, Poppy, Briar had an emotional break down. How much of her life was her own? What was chosen for her? Who was she after all? She ended up taking sabbatical from her job at the historical society and after pulling away from her fiance she even called the wedding off. What they’ve been up to since then is UTP. I imagine he is from some influential family and that they did grow up at least in part in LC together.

Since a young age, Karter was a rather hotheaded kid that wanted to do only what he desired. Of course, he did what he was told, he went to all the lessons he needed to, played any available sport, switching between them as napkins, and tried to keep his grades up, managing highest marks in most classes. But consistent is not something you could call him. Sure, he was smart enough to read his lessons once and remember details enough to ace exams and graduate high school with A-s, but how much he remembered those lessons was anyone’s guess. He played for the football team, the soccer team, the basketball team, swam and even tried out for tennis before asking from his parents to buy a piano, then a violin and then a guitar, even having a short stint with drums that were quickly thrown out due to the ruckus. And all these extra curriculums were enough to get him a full scholarship in Yale, promising to do better there when saying goodbye to his family.

In university Karter focused more on the parties and girls rather than on classes, experimenting with anything he could think of, deciding he might as well despite the long life ahead of him. He signed up for Humanities, before he moved to Finance�� and then he moved to Management where he was persuaded to stick to he decided to get diversity through languages and so he signed up for different one throughout the four years there, leaving with some knowledge on French and on Ancient Greek, a few words in Latin, a string of Armenian sentences. You couldn’t say he was fluent, you couldn’t say he was a genius and knew them all… But he liked to pretend to know even less.

After using money he had saved up working throughout his university years and having managed to put aside most of the allowance his parents gave him while he was there, he went on a trip to Europe. Karter is now back in Greywood and enjoying irresponsible life to the fullest. For the short time he had been back he had caused a car accident, ruined a bachelor’s party and miss at least two family gathering. He started writing a book, telling his parents that was his passion before locking himself into his room and trying to remember his violin lessons, the typing machine he had purchased from an antique shop left somewhere under tons of paper on his desk. And then he had told his parents he would like to be a carpenter (maybe he has watched too many homestead videos online) and so he proclaimed he’s moving out and getting an apprenticeship. Sure, he does go home every once in a while and brings his clothes in the laundry as he had no desire to do it on his own after having done that while in university, sitting by communal laundry rooms and being bored to death. And he does drop by his sibling’s to grab dinner if they let him. And he did ditch his lessons in woodwork a few times. But he was sure that this would be the thing he would stick to and maybe even someday make his own company and hire others to do it and observe with knowledge.

Since settling in Greywood Karter has had very unnatural luck. Sure, he had always thought himself lucky, but walking out the street and a car you didn’t see swerving perfectly around you or a nail going through your shoe precisely between your toes… or winning every game of beer pong despite previously having the shittiest of aims possible? There’s something there he isn’t sure how to channel.

PARTE DOS: BIOGRAFÍA.

Lo mejor de llegar a un nuevo mundo es que nadie conoce tu pasado y comenzar desde cero es mas tentador de lo que parece. Aun mejor, comenzar de nuevo en un lugar donde nadie sabe por que tu brazo izquierdo tiene una cicatriz mas clara que el resto de tu piel ni por que parece que tus ojos se llenan de lagrimas siempre que se repite una sensación, un nombre o hasta un miedo que perdura hasta en su más distraído día. Llegar desde un país donde el idioma es distinto parece de lo mas complicado cuando pedir un empleo se vuelve tarea imposible, para Ian era sencillo dedicarse a observar el mundo y darse un respiro.

Nació en Estados Unidos y se creció en una zona poco residencial a las afueras de New York, su vida se mostraba muy común, padres trabajadores, una hermana mayor amorosa y unos tíos que se preocupaban, la escuela iba bien y los talleres de fotografía eran un sustento usual en Ian, todo un día, sin más, decidió venirse abajo y cambiar su vida. Psicólogos, psiquiatras y mucha terapia después decidió que ese lugar obscuro en la calle Elm no lo sería mas. Vendió todo lo que pudo y se largó de esa cueva que de niño veía llena de luz y ahora era solo un cascarón vacío.

Solo conserva dos lazos de las tierras natales, una amiga de colegio con la que comparte gustos musicales y muchas anécdotas y un chico que conoció en sus vuelos y camino a Real Del Valle. A veces se equivoca con palabras y conversaciones largas no son muy su fuerte, pero lo compensa con su interés genuino.

Pressing his fingertips to his chest, Data peers at himself in the holographic mirror he's summoned in the yellow-black grid-box suite, willing himself futilely to recall that sensation of rage. Of pain. It moved in him, for an instant, before. It moved beneath his skin, electrical arc-fires of superheated plasma-ignition... destruction... an inferno of smoke and fire, a towering abyss to consume the world. Ethical subroutines be hanged - the sensation was ... he cannot think of an appellation to apply. Sublime doesn't cut it. To know a feeling, to hold it between his fingers and watch it slip away... Data cannot express sorrow in a typical manner, but he wonders if this - recognition of loss, would count in its stead. Alas, it's moot. What he told Geordi was correct - emotions, at least the way they had come to him then, whatever was on that chip - it had altered him. And he did not like the changes it wrought. His companionship with Geordi and the rest of the Enterprise's crew is too valuable to risk. It's taken Data many years to reach the point at which he must simply accept that his manner of seeing the universe is distinct. He wonders if it doesn't include emotion in some way - after all, emotions are information as anything else. Perhaps he does feel, it is just different to organic life. The organic pulses that had overtaken his body and prompted him to grip at the Borg drone's throat and seize him by the neck, lift him and thrust him onto the ground -if that were what humans felt, Data supposes he must reconcile that it is not an experience relished. Violence, after all, had been the outcome. It gives him a better understanding of Lore, at least. Lore, who told Data I love you before his deactivation. Data can't abide his brother's death. They are... a culture of two. "Computer, eliminate mirror and activate Project Hephaestus," he commands at last. The grid-box shimmers and from the ether, Lore's approximation appears. It's been months since his deactivation and Data has been working tirelessly to restore the positronic matrix that comprised his brother's make-up, and at long last, he has at least enough to synthesize a consciousness. To replicate a body will take time - and this way is safer, at least. It will give Lore time to explore, to learn to socialize, without harming others. "Computer, load the data from isolinear rod 21-56-45 and calibrate." "Calibrating..." Lore's eyes open. He is... anew.
