i fucking hate minimalism

I don't care what yall say, minimalism can go die

Minimalism is genuinely terrifying to me, I'm not even kidding. When I look at minimalistic home design, I straight up feel like I'm looking at a liminal space. Everything is so agonizingly sterile, it's just straight-up soulless.

Okay look, maybe I should clarify a bit. There are SOME instances where minimalism is okay. It's minimalism with home decor I'm talking about here. Minimalism doesn't show any signs of human life at all. There's no lived-in or homey feeling. It just doesn't work for homes. Minimalism could work for like, a hospital waiting room or a corporate setting, but for HOMES? Hell no. It's too clean, too organized. Homes are made for humans to live in, as in people. People have personalities, and their homes show that. Minimalistic home decor basically tells me that you're about as interesting as a white sheet of paper, and god forbid I ever wear my shoes in your house because you might chop my head off if I get mud on your precious sterile white carpet.

Case in point, fuck minimalism. (Edit: I kinda forgot that I come from a small farming town in the middle of buttfuck nowhere, and over here literally nobody cares if you wear your shoes inside the house regardless of whose house it is so yeah bad example but you get my point)

One of the dogs at my work was put down tonight because he had bloat and the vets didn’t think he’d survive the corrective surgery. His name was Thor, and he was only 5 years old. And the worst part is he was boarding with us, so his family didn’t even get to say goodbye to him because they’re out of town. Thankfully my boss and my manager went with him so he wouldn’t be alone, but it still sucks. I legitimately hugged my dog tighter than ever and sobbed for a solid 10 minutes after I found out in the work group chat
