I just thought you'd like to know that Steve's silly little sailor hat has been permanently codified into the lore of my insane British task show, because someone brought one on as a prize, and the sidekick host liked it so much he decided to wear it for a task in the following series.

Currently watching: S1 of Abbott Elementary (really liking that so far!), S2 of The Bear (also great so far), and finishing up S4 of Ghosts (I'll go into withdrawal once I'm finished).

Currently reading: I was thinking of making a proper post but I guess I'm lazy: This is Going to Hurt by Adam Kay. I discovered this book through Adam's appearance on Catsdown and I didn't even realize there was a TV adaptation out, but yeah this was magnificent. Funny, fast-paced and sobering. I'm not sure if anyone, after reading that, can tell someone in healthcare they're too greedy for demanding better pay and conditions.

Current obsession: Ghosts, as mentioned above. I'm so sorry for being late to the party but I'm glad I started before the final series begins!

Last song: Please no judgements* but it's Moon Hooch's cover of Barbie Girl. Am actually very excited for this film (mostly because of Gerwig and Baumbachs involvement) but I was bummed that the horrible song from my childhood would likely be the theme. Turns out it'll be this awesome battling saxophone lyricless version instead which I'm over the moon about! Great song to clean your house to!

Currently watching: Home Movies. Not actual home movies but the squiggle vision cartoon from years ago with Brenden Small and H Jon Benjamin. Last season of Succession. And revisiting an easy binge, a Canadian classic - Twitch City.

Currently reading: I just finished a reread of Tim Keys pandemic double header (He Used Thought as a Wife and Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush) they were even better back to back. It's my kind of book when it's genuinely quite funny, but also moves me to tears at moments. I was given Happy Go Lucky which is David Sedaris' newest book for my birthday a few days ago so I think I'll start that today.

Current obsession: It won't come as a surprise to many that I've been obsessed with Taskmaster and more specifically Greg/Alex for years now, but I also have a very obsessive mind that's never quite let go of its love for the world of cycling, James Spader and Twin Peaks. Most recently I've been into Geoguessr.

Life Update: the brain weasels (depression) have finally fucked off for the most part.

Tries to donate plasma on Tuesday, but they failed spectacularly when sticking me, got a little blood out, and none back in (after 2 re-sticks). And as expected, the external vein they always end up using for my left arm bruised up, so I can't donate today either. Who needs money anyway? 🙃

At least I'm going up to see R & @lokiofsassgaard tomorrow via the train. It's been a while, so that should be fun. Taking along a big bag of craft stuff to fuck around with.
