Compiled this lil piece from solar filter I used during the eclipse and plants I grabbed from my friend's parents' yard in Arkansas (they have those cool helicopter seeds we don't have around Florida)! Included Jupiter and Venus symbols on two handheld filters since those planets were very visible during the eclipse, and bits of a cyanotype I did the day before! So all the components are directly related to the eclipse/general area I viewed it from :-)

Just want to share that I've made the blog @nevermoorsource, which I intend to use as a place to post updates/news/behind-the-scenes stuff related to Nevermoor. I like to keep track of all of this stuff anyways so I figured I might as well make a sideblog just to keep it all in one place.

I don't have any news to post yet (and probably won't for awhile considering we're in a bit of a drought right now), but I did finish organizing all of the chapter illustrations for the American editions if you want to take a look. Tumblr limits the number of images you can have in a post so I had to use pages, therefore you'll have the best experience viewing them if you're on desktop with custom themes enabled. Here's the mobile navigation because the desktop database isn't set up yet.

Currently I'm working on gathering other stuff like interviews and figuring out my tag system, so there's nothing else on there, but stay tuned and keep your eyes peeled on that blog because I'll announce over there when I have that stuff up.

that nintendo direct was so horrible.

it was literally like 80 percent remakes and remasters.

never in my life have i seen an announcement video exist just to say "every game you've ever known since the 90s is being remade/remastered, sorry, we ran out of originality".

literally like all the video game market is anymore is remakes and the movie industry is just as bad.

the nso releases are fine because they're not like, remakes taking up full game slots. they're old games that are being made accessible and that's great... but there's no need to remake this many games when they can do that. remakes used to be rare. remember stuff like the wii u shop and stuff? with all the games they had on those things? now it's a tiny selection and everything else is a remake :/

also I feel like a lot of new rpgs are just like... lowkey fe knockoffs now instead of original rpgs.

i'm happy for like... two existing remakes, but one of them is mario rpg which people wanted waaaaAAAAAYYYY before the remake and remaster era, and the other is baten kaitos which im not actually happy about remaster-wise (the updated ui is trash, they took out very specific charms of the original ui), just happy that it will get more recognition/notice from people since it was never popular.

they also completely removed the english voice acting which like okay yeah it wasn't always that great but the voices fit perfectly and it wasn't as bad as fans meme on it for! it just sounded like they were talking through a tube and that was actually the worst part of it lol.

someone suggested to me that they may have just lost the data for it, but idk. i wish they'd just admit that somehow if it was the case, because it bugs me that the english audio is just completely gone when ultimately i really liked it. i wanted the game to be accessible to newer players, sure, but i also wanted the english audio there. ig that's because i grew up with it and i liked it, but it's still such a bummer for me!

paper mario being put on the nso and tyd getting a whole remaster does make me sad tho bc it feels like they're leaving the original in the dust when it was so good. if you're gonna do tyd, at least do them both.

good for innersloth though, i'm sure they never imagined being on a nintendo direct. they're the real winners here.

Theory of Love is definitely one of the hardest BLs to take seriously that I've watched so far (NOBODY SPOIL ME PLS I am up to ep6 and hoping we're gonna switch at some point from Gun POV to Off POV and turn the perspective on its wet-from-water-bottle-showering head, but I don't KNOW for SURE so don't tell meeee) but one thing I'm really vibing with is just how well it captures the sheer disastrousness of disastrous gay friendships!!!

So I found out upon checking my email this morning that the therapy appointment isn't in the health building like I thought, but rather in the basement of a boy's only dorm further north

Which brings up two problems: that's even further away than I'd accounted for, and I find it SUPREMELY uncomfortable to go to a boy's only dorm for therapy, even if the office is in one of the general areas.

I'd already been conceding on the matter of agreeing to talk to a man, since I'm generally uncomfortable with talking to men I don't know, but it was the soonest appointment I could get... so I agreed to it, but finding out it's in the boy's only dorm is just Too Much. Not only would it make it even harder to get there, but my skin just kinda crawls thinking about baring my fuckin heart in a place so thoroughly meant for guys. Like it's a place I don't belong, which REALLY does not help give the comfort kinda required of such an appointment.

I called the office asking if the appointment could be set up on zoom (bc it mentioned it in the email), but the therapist was staunch on it being in-person, so I rescheduled with a different person for the 13th. Bc if this dude isn't gonna be understanding with my discomfort with the location, like fuckin hell I'm gonna let myself be emotionally vulnerable with him. Bet he was thinking I was being too picky like "Oh it's a stupid Girl who can't handle being around Men" like sorry I have a healthy fear of guys I don't know 😋😋😋😋😋 if U have a problem with it then change society so talking to unknown men doesn't feel like walking in a minefield. ok so i'll try to explain this as clearly as i can because i don't want to cause problems sjfs

the video that i used for the gifs has really harsh stage lighting falling right on their face, and that could explain why their faces look paler compared to their neck. secondly, i first coloured joshua's gif, and then placed the same psd everywhere else after randomly brushing the curves (which are always on auto), and that could explain why the colouring isn't consistent (a really bad habit !! i'm aware !! i'll fix it shkjfhs)

both these unfortunately made the jh gif and the first gif a little pale, which i ended up fixing after getting your ask (tysm!) and talking to a moot (ty ngoc ily) abt it!

i also spoke to a lot more mutuals who i think are pretty good at colouring and got some feedback from them, and the lovely @lee-haechan's helped me out in fixing some of my bad habits like these fjhskj

i'm in no ways perfect at what i'm doing, esp when fixing lighting (why would u do that mubank) but i'm trying my best to learn and fix my mistakes while i still choose a specific route to colour gifs! so i'd like to thank u for letting me know what i was doing wrong!
