some pictures from my adventures today ~ i also travelled down to my parents' house in the south of england, which only took a few hours. whilst there, since my parents were busy packing as we head up to scotland tomorrow, i worked on my economics assignment a little, but i still have no idea of how much longer it'll take to finish ~ hope you're starting to get into the christmas spirit!

Today I had my final of five exams! definitely the worst one but at least theyre over:) this is my favourite study spot, it always feels so cosy and gets me to venture out into the cold… I also got to play piano for the first time in ages and it felt so good

some photos of my wandering around london today ~ ive been thinking about the countryside a lot recently, but finding these gorgeous colours in the city reminds me that wherever you are, you can find places that make you smile and no matter how busy you are, try to find time to be out in the fresh air for a few hours sometime soon ~

Today i want to talk a little about doing art for art's own sake, or really any creative endeavour. my quote of the week this week was 'the soul usually knows what to do to heal itself. the challenge is to silence the mind' and i've really been trying to do that this week, and it's been incredible. i know there are people on instagram posting paintings far better than my little painting, but every time i look at this, it gives me so much joy and i can't really explain why. and i just wanted to say, that to me, that's all art is about, art isn't something that has to be perfect, it's something that speaks to you.. and whatever endeavour it is, whether it be musical, writing, hunting down the best cafes or anything creative, do and create things that speak to you and make you stay up until after midnight on a sunday night.. anyway happy monday and hope you have a week full of inspiration, and if you're struggling to find inspiration, do one really nice thing for yourself, as someone who used to study a million hours a day and thought nice things were a waste of time, trust me, they mean the world, so take yourself out for coffee, or whatever makes you smile:)

LONG TIME NO POST

BUT I AM BACK

the move to London was hectic, and handling vet school has been really (really) tough. But i’ve found my rhythm, my exams are 26 days away, and I’m hopefully here to stay. Recently I’ve had a rough few weeks. Not gonna lie, the party culture and the drinking culture here has lead me to have many fun nights but also a rather skewed work-fun balance.

I think i’ve got my priorities a bit more straightened out now, but rest assured I still have fun nights out! All work and no play is just no good at all, amirite? Keeping up with lectures has been hard. The actual content of the lectures is sometimes enough to make me cry. I’ve gotten ridiculously jealous, insecure, sad, nervous and lonely in these few weeks, but I’ve also had some high points and learnt some lessons. For example,

- don’t mess about unless you can control your emotions the next day

- DO NOT (i repeat, do NOT) lose your friends in a club.

- pre drinks are fun but arriving to the club already smashed is not

- you don’t need other people for validation

- be smart and do the extra reading

So, yeah, it’s been eventful. Hopefully tumblr will welcome me back, its ravished child, with open and warm arms.
