A Lonely Bench ii || July 17 2022

A week later, we walk by the same bench. The air is warm and dry. The fireflies stay in view but no longer keep my heart wrenched. Enough time has gone by.

Instead of seeing a gracious path, We see the exhaustion of our brain. Home feels far away when your emotions enact their wrath. Instead of freed, we feel a little chained.

In this kind of setting, We wonder if the lonely bench would be soothing.

#911 lone star #repeat after me #owen is not the main character because this is an ensemble show #i mean as a general rule you really should stay out of people's inboxes to bitch at them about something you know they don't agree with #but also people are allowed to call out the show for trying to get clout for diversity and then making it the owen strand show #and not even the 'owen strand is sooo good at being fire captain' show which would at least get us firecrew scenes! #it's now the 'owen does anything BUT fire captain because that's basically like sitting on the bench' show #which is a shame because there are a billion police/fbi procedurals i could watch if i wanted to #but i don't i want the found family hopeful wholesome 911-verse #and when owen IS being captain or being dad to TK or one of the team or a friend for the other captains his scenes are so good!! #i love those scenes and they give us more content for the other ensemble characters #and THAT is a lot of the complaint about the screetime is that it's majorly going to one character doing outside stuff #so not only is it not centered on the other characters but they don't even hardly get to be involved! #ANWAY #don't mind me just tired of hearing people say no one can be mad because owen is the main character #if this was a show with 2 mains and a handful of supporting characters or the show was named after owen in some way i'd get it #but literally he isn't the main character and that is why people are upset

Tommy's christmas-themed vlog had gotten off to quite the rocky start. It began as usual, with a loud, overzealous intro from the man himself. From there, the train seemed to fall off of the tracks.

"You can go in and see them, if you'd like," one of the volunteers told them, much to the delight of the four young adults.

Y/n's jaw dropped. After sharing a look with Tubbo, the duo made it over the fence with one swift jump. Tommy made various shocked faces, whilst Ranboo watched them in amusement. The gate to the pen had been opened by the aforementioned volunteer, but they'd opted for the more difficult route, for whatever reason.

"You two are such fuckin' gremlins!" Tommy exclaimed as he pointed the camera (his phone, since he wasn't willing to risk breaking a good camera at a reindeer farm, but his phone was for some reason expendable). He and Ranboo entered through the gate.

Y/n shot him an offended look. "Coming from you? Hypocrite, honestly."

"I am a sweet, innocent child, thank you very much."

"Tom, you're literally an adult. You're eighteen." Tubbo responded in a dry tone, though a smile has evident from his voice, even if the camera wasn't pointed at him.

"Real!" Y/n shouted in response. "Now shut up and let me live out my childhood dreams. Getting dirt on the off-whites is worth it to see the little fellas."

The aforementioned 'little fellas' were not little fellas. They were big fellas. Around the same size as Tubbo.

"God, you really are just flexing, aren't you?" Tommy rolled his eyes as he referred to their shoes.

"You got Twitch famous and you're just not the same as you were." Ranboo complained dramatically, feigning a sad tremor in his voice.

"It's not really a flex if I didn't pay for them." Y/n shrugged. "I'm not paying half a grand for shoes I wear in a Tom Simons vlog."

Tommy turned the camera to face Ranboo as the taller one spoke. "Remember! It's okay to steal as long as Tommy makes money from it!"

"That's just... Not what I said. Tom bought them for me in a second channel video."

"But it's christmas - that means crime is okay!" Tubbo encouraged.

"Now I can't be cancelled if I decide to rob a bank, as long as it's december!" Tommy shrugged, as though the festive season was an excuse for literal crimes.

"Yes you can!"

It is a tuesday evening in Brooklyn. The rain drizzles down ever so softly. Fireflies come in and out of view, dancing amongst their kin. I take this precious time to walk calmly.

Ahead as the puddled path glistens and sparkles, A glowing light and lonely bench come into view. On this bench, have people fallen in love, cried, laughed, and birthed miracles? And is it something I could experience too?

In this kind of setting, The lonely bench becomes much less intimidating.
